    The goal of this paper is to present interdisciplinary environmental studies in urban park. Simple measures are proposed here for evaluating the status of vegetation and its habitat. When systematically applied, these measures could be a basis for sustainable management of the park greenery. Studies performed in Skaryszewski Park in Warsaw are as an example. Studies confirmed the assumption that simple and relatively cheap field and laboratory methods could be a good basis for recognising the status of plant habitats in parks.

    Obstetrical haemorrhage still remains one of the most common causes of death among pregnant women and women in labour. Almost 88% of these women die within the first 4 hours of its onset. Knowing the mechanisms that regulate hemostasis of the woman in labour at the molecular, immunological, hormonal, neurological level and the role and function of the uteroplacental unit has a huge impact on the further therapeutic decisions in case of obstetrical haemorrhage. There are a number of various definitions concerning obstetrical haemorrhage which proves how difficult it is to recognize and diagnose this condition. Taking under consideration the haemodynamic changes, the systemic consequences and the need of making specific therapeutical decisions it seems necessary to include in the definition the dynamics of the blood loss in the specific time unit: cumulated blood loss of 150 ml/min or 1.5 ml/kg of body weight per minute and a 50% loss of circulating blood volume in 3 hours. The prognosis of the haemorrhage depends on many different elements, including: rapid diagnosis, notification and implement of the management therapeutic algorithm and interdisciplinary co‑work of various teams taking part in the diagnostic‑therapeutic process. It is crucial that there is an effective, simultaneous cooperation among the experienced anaesthesiology team, ob‑gyn team, the operating theatre team, diagnostic‑laboratory teams and the regional blood donation agencies. Coordinating work of that many people, that are often spread within the organizational structures of the hospital on different floors or buildings, is excessively challenging. On the other hand, establishing the management algorithm that takes into account the order and the way of notifying as well as implementing certain procedures in individual organizational structures has a huge, direct impact on patient’s survival and the quality of life. Most of the management procedures for the severe obstetrical haemorrhage, such as resuscitation, monitoring, bleeding control, should be performed simultaneously.
    Krwotok położniczy wciąż jest jedną z najczęstszych przyczyn zgonów ciężarnych i rodzących. Prawie 88% kobiet umiera w ciągu pierwszych czterech godzin od momentu jego wystąpienia. Znajomość mechanizmów regulujących homeostazę ustroju ciężarnej ma ogromne znaczenie w postępowaniu terapeutycznym w przypadku wystąpienia krwotoku okołoporodowego. O tym, jak trudno rozpoznać i zdefiniować krwotok położniczy, dowodzi obecność kilkunastu różnych jego definicji. Z punktu widzenia zmian hemodynamicznych, następstw ogólnoustrojowych i konieczności podjęcia określonych decyzji terapeutycznych bardzo użyteczne wydają się pojęcia oceniające szybkość utraty w określonym przedziale czasowym: skumulowana utrata krwi wynosząca 150 ml/min lub 1,5 ml/kg m.c./min oraz utrata 50% objętości krwi krążącej w ciągu 3 godzin. Rokowanie w krwotoku położniczym zależy od wielu elementów, do których zaliczamy: szybkie rozpoznanie, powiadomienie i wdrożenie algorytmu postępowania terapeutycznego oraz efektywne działanie interdyscyplinarne różnych zespołów biorących udział w procesie diagnostyczno‑leczniczym. Niezbędna jest jednoczasowa, efektywna współpraca doświadczonego zespołu anestezjologicznego, ginekologiczno‑położniczego, bloku operacyjnego, zespołów pracowni diagnostyczno‑laboratoryjnych oraz regionalnego centrum krwiodawstwa. Skoordynowanie pracy dużej liczby ludzi, często „rozrzuconych” w strukturach organizacyjnych szpitala na różnych piętrach lub w oddzielnych budynkach, jest niezmiernie trudne. Opracowanie algorytmu postępowania uwzględniającego kolejność i sposób powiadamiania oraz wdrażanie określonych procedur w poszczególnych jednostkach organizacyjnych decydują o przeżyciu pacjentki i późniejszej jakości życia. Większość czynności w ciężkim krwotoku położniczym (resuscytacja, monitorowanie, opanowywanie krwawienia) powinna być prowadzona jednoczasowo.

    Opis:
    The study begins with a chronological review of research on risk in various countries and then investigates relationships between the general scientific theory and the use of scientific methodology in this discipline. In this part of the essay, focus is on the essence of experiential learning in relation to diversified risks. The issue is presented primarily to improve risk measurement tools. Another point of the essay is to indicate an interdisciplinary study of diversified risks, including strategies to limit global risks, and emerging risks to the environment. In this context, the Human Choice and Climate Change Report is presented with new methods for testing risk. Studies under risk and risk management are perceived as transdisciplinary with an assumption that this approach is more complete than an interdisciplinary one. The essay concludes with a discussion of the responsibility of scientists for further research on risk and the consequences of progress in science. It is also an introduction to research on the philosophy of risk.
    W opracowaniu tym został dokonany chronologiczny przegląd badań prowadzonych nad ryzykiem, a następnie analiza relacji występujących między teorią nauki w odniesieniu do ryzyka oraz wykorzystania metodologii naukowej w tej nowej dyscyplinie. W szczególności przedstawione zostało zagadnienie doskonalenia narzędzi pomiaru ryzyka. Prowadzone są również wstępne rozważania nad interdyscyplinarnym badaniem zdywersyfikowanego ryzyka. Przedstawione zostały w nim strategie zmierzające do ograniczenia globalnego ryzyka i powstających zagrożeń dla środowiska naturalnego wykorzystując tu raport Human Choice and Climate Change. Nie można też było pominąć kwestii eksplozji informacji i jej wpływu na dalsze badania ryzyka, a także znaczenia modnych obecnie badań transdyscyplinarnych. Esej kończy próba odpowiedzi na pytanie dotyczące odpowiedzialności uczonych za skutki prowadzonych badań. Stanowi także wprowadzenie do badań nad filozofią ryzyka.

What distinguished this project from others performed in market or academic conditions was voluntary participation of the members of the research team.     In the spring of 2017 we conducted a survey among researchers in the broadly understood creative sectors, and among managers, often combining experience in this field with academic practice. We asked, among other things, about the cultural management, the specificity of this research area, and the most important environments dealing with this subject. Twenty people responded to our request. The results of this – in fact, self-reflective – research is presented below. Subjective attitude of the respondents to the problems, diversity of positions, and in many points also their convergence form the foundation on which to build research exploration in this area and find, still numerous, white spots.

    Artykuł zawiera rozważania na temat roli komunikacji cyfrowej w projektach interdyscyplinarnych. Jego celem jest pokazanie, na bazie doświadczeń interdyscyplinarnych zespołów projektowych, konsekwencji wyboru kanałów i cyfrowych narzędzi komunikacji wpływających na wyniki projektów. W pierwszej części artykułu rozważono wpływ transformacji cyfrowej na zarządzanie projektami. Druga część opisuje kluczowe czynniki sukcesu projektów i potwierdza istotną rolę komunikacji jako jednego z elementów wpływających na osiągnięcie zamierzonych celów. Trzecia sekcja krótko charakteryzuje narzędzia komunikacji zastosowane w dwóch wybranych projektach interdyscyplinarnych: SQUAD i BIM z perspektywy ich koordynatora. W rezultacie artykuł potwierdza tezę, że komunikacja jest jednym z kluczowych czynników sukcesu projektów interdyscyplinarnych. null The creation of the English-language version of these publications is fi nanced in the framework of contract No. 607/P-DUN/2018 by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education committed to activities aimed at the promotion of education.
    This article considers the important role of digital communication in interdisciplinary projects. This paper describes the experience of interdisciplinary project teams and points to the consequences of the choice of communication channels and tools influencing project deliverables within those teams. The first section of this paper considers the influence of digital transformation on project management. The second section describes key project success factors concerning all types of projects and concludes that communication is one of important factors. The third section briefly defines interdisciplinary projects: SQUAD and BIM. This section also describes the communication methods and techniques that were used within these projects. Finally, the thesis that communication is one of the key factors of an interdisciplinary project’s success is confirmed. null The creation of the English-language version of these publications is fi nanced in the framework of contract No. 607/P-DUN/2018 by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education committed to activities aimed at the promotion of education.

    Rozszczep wargi i/lub podniebienia jest jedną z najczęstszych występujących w populacji ludzkiej wad wrodzonych. Odpowiada bowiem za 65% anomalii rozwojowych twarzoczaszki, a postępowanie terapeutyczne w tej wadzie, ze względu na różnorodność i złożoność problemów, które z niej potencjalnie wynikają, bywa niezwykle trudne. Rozliczne kontrowersje dotyczą zarówno samego postępowania chirurgicznego – pierwotnego i wtórnego – jak i rehabilitacji, która w najprostszym ujęciu dotyczy warunków szczękowo-zgryzowych i mowy. Na przestrzeni ostatniego ćwierćwiecza nastąpiło szczególnie dużo zmian w koncepcji leczenia tej wady. Przedstawia je niniejszy artykuł, podkreślając najistotniejsze nowe tendencje. W odniesieniu do samego leczenia chirurgicznego światową tendencją stało się skracanie terminu pierwotnego chirurgicznego zamknięcia szczeliny rozszczepu podniebienia. Wg obecnych standardów postępowania powinno ono mieć miejsce w pierwszym roku życia dziecka, co ma związek zarówno z rozwojem anestezjologii dziecięcej, jak i z nowoczesnym spojrzeniem na rehabilitację mowy i zgryzu w tej najczęstszej wadzie rozwojowej twarzoczaszki.
    Cleft lip and/or palate is one of the most common birth defects in the human population. It is responsible for 65% of craniofacial developmental anomalies, and the therapeutic procedure in this defect, due to the variety and complexity of problems that potentially result from it, can be extremely difficult. Numerous controversies concern both the surgical procedure itself, both primary and secondary, as well as rehabilitation, which in the simplest terms concerns maxillofacial conditions and speech. Over the last quarter of a century, there have been particularly many changes in the concept of treatment of orofacial clefts. This article presents them highlighting the most important new trends. With regard to the surgical treatment itself, the global tendency has been to shorten the date of primary surgical closure of the clefted palate. According to current standards, it should take place in the first year of a child’s life, which is related to both the development of pediatric anesthesiology and a modern view on speech and occlusion rehabilitation in this defect.

    Art therapy is a field of activity with both practical and theoretical foundations although the latter are not precisely defined. Management and quality sciences, as well as economics, include management in the healthcare sector as one of their areas of interest. Despite a wealth of literature on the subject of management in healthcare, no in-depth research on art therapy as a specific form of delivery of the therapeutic process has been conducted so far. The aim of this article is to identify potential areas for further interdisciplinary research linking the field of management and quality with health sciences and education sciences (bearing in mind that art therapy is not a separate, autonomous scientific discipline). In order to achieve this we conducted a comparative analysis of selected concepts of management and quality sciences with the scope of the subject matter of art therapy, and as a qualitative method of literature review we chose the deductive method. The outcome of the study is the development of a proposed set of areas for further interdisciplinary research linking management and quality sciences with the sciences that include art therapy. The research findings presented here highlight numerous areas of overlap between art therapy and management and quality sciences, which hold potential for application in art therapy practice and theory.
