In this work a brief review on photonic integrated circuits (PICs) is presented with a specific focus on integrated lasers and amplifiers. The work presents the history of development of the integration technology in photonics and its comparison to microelectronics. The major part of the review is focused on InP-based photonic integrated circuits, with a short description of the potential of the silicon technology. A completely new way of fabrication of PICs, called generic integration technology, is presented and discussed. The basic assumption of this approach is the very same as in the case of electronic circuits and states that a limited set of standard components, both active and passive, enables designing of a complex, multifunctional PIC of every type. As a result, functionally advanced, compact, energy efficient and cost-optimized photonic devices can be fabricated. The work presents also selected examples of active PICs like multiwavelength laser sources, discretely tunable lasers, WDM transmitters, ring lasers etc.

Opis:

This paper describes methods to extract nominal values of propagation quantities for thin-film, straight interconnect elements. The propagation quantities like effective dielectric permittivity ɛ_eff, attenuation α, characteristic impedance Z_o are calculated with the use of analytical and approximated formulas. These expressions are obtained by transforming and by fitting formulas, typically used for calculation of per unit length transmission line parameters. Methods are verified for typical thin-film interconnect elements dimensions and for typical materials used in the Photonics Integrated Circuits (PIC). The novelty of the study is the parametrization with respect to the geometrical dimensions. The parametrization is based on the approximation expressions in the form of rational polynomials obtained by fitting.

Effectiveness analysis. Application practices Report from the research project „Development of psychotherapeutic technologies, rehabilitation and counseling of participants of the Joint Forces operations”, part 3 (Grant of the Ministry of Higher Education and the Armed Forces, No. DZ/74-2019) The analysis of international and regional experiences in the workplace with foreign employees is an integral part of correcting the workforce and development of personal development. International organizations like the UNO (IOM) provide a list of underwriting services that operate with people and people with stress, due to the fact that the region or the region has its own practice of integration, integration and management of health and management. The results of the study show that the most effective tool for organizing coordinated and structured work on development is the use of the so-called the cluster approach, which is widely used in UNHCR practice, under UN coordination. The integrated commitment to Ukraine and the active employment of a number of nationals, community members and other national organizations is represented by the State of the States and local businesses. As the long-term practice shows, it is thanks to the Synergy of Multi-Vector Experiences that all parts of the cluster are possible, the goal of developing the presiding, overturning and believing well. The analysis of the results of the number of people from the UNHCR cluster in the districts of Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk and Zakarpattia in the year 2020 shows that a person is based on other measures and has a similar and similar weight.

Goal – The objective of the paper is to identify the character of the integration of projects realized using EU funds in Bialystok Functional Area (BFA). There was formulated hypothesis which implies that integrated projects constitute the majority of undertakings realized within the instrument of integrated territorial investments (ITI) in BFA. Research methodology – The analysis was based both on the subject literature and data from the institution responsible for the policy of BFA development, i.e. The Association of Bialystok Functional Area on the basis of information included in the SL 2014 system within the research conducted from 20th to 31stJuly 2018. Score – The conducted analysis of integrated projects in BFA showed that they constitute an essential instrument in implementing the adopted development strategy of the functional area when considerable amount of funds is necessary to finance such enterprises. Originality/value – The paper’s value lies in the description and assessment of integrated projects using the example of BFA. It is a new way of conducting the development policy of these areas, which may be the basis for planning the strategy for the subsequent years.

According to the recommendation of the IMO Resolution MSC.252(83), “Adoption of the revised performance standards for integrated navigation system (INS)”, the INS is introduced in order to enhance navigational safety by providing integrated and augmented functions to avoid geographic, traffic and environmental hazards. Its main task is to provide ‘added value’ for the officer of the watch (OOW), ship’s captain and pilot, to plan, monitor or control the navigational safety and progress of the ship. The system should support navigational safety by combining, processing and evaluating inputs from different connected sensors and sources to provide information, giving timely warnings of dangerous situations, system failures and degradation of the integrity of delivered and presented information. An INS is defined as such if workstations provide multifunctional displays integrating at least the following navigational tasks (functions): route monitoring, collision avoidance and alert management. The output data contains a description of the subsystems and devices included in the INS, and the principles of their cooperation and presentation of data, but it does not present recommendations for interfacing the INS with the ship’s radio communications equipment or standardised rules of operation by the user and presentation of information. These restrictions limit the possibilities of using this system in e-navigation. This paper identifies the importance of these limitations with respect to the need for further development of INSs, and presents proposals to solve this problem.

Idea integracji pojawiła się w ochronie roślin w 1959 r. i w następnych latach została rozwinięta jako przyszłościowy i obowiązujący kierunek badań i działań praktycznych w ochronie upraw. Prawie 30 lat później w czasie obrad XI Międzynarodowego Kongresu Ochrony Roślin w Manilii podjęty został temat technologii niskonakładowych, będących odpowiedzią na nadprodukcję żywności oraz degradację środowiska rolniczego, powodowane chemizacją i intensyfikacją produkcji rolniczej. W krótkim okresie technologie niskonakładowe zostały zastąpione przez opracowaną koncepcję integrowanych technologii produkcji rolniczej. Obecnie technologie te poprzez opracowane metody ich prowadzenia, podstawy prawne oraz konieczność uzyskania certyfikatów przez producentów są gwarancją produkcji żywności wysokiej jakości oraz ochrony środowiska rolniczego. W integrowanych technologiach produkcji podstawową rolę odgrywa oparta na założeniach integracji i prawidłowo prowadzona ochrona upraw przed organizmami szkodliwymi.
An idea of integration in plant protection appeared in 1959; during next years it was developed as a future, obligatory direction of the research and practical activities in crop protection. Just about 30 years later, on the XI International Plant Protection Congress in Manilla, the subject of low-input technologies was undertaken as a response to food overproduction and degradation of the agricultural environment by chemization and intensified agricultural production. Within the short time the low-input technologies have been replaced by developed conception of the integrated technologies in agricultural production. Actually, these technologies - through developed methods of their running, legal bases and the necessity of getting certificates by the producers - guarantee the production of high quality food and the protection of agricultural environment. In integrated production technologies the main role is played by the protection of crops against the noxious organisms, based on integration rules and realized in a proper way.

Since January 1,2014 all EU member states have been obliged to observe principles of the Integrated Pest Management. In the article the basic premises of the new regulation are presented. According to them, it is indispensable to replace chemical plant protection products by other means, among others, biological ones. The author discusses basic regulations concerning registration of biological plant protection means in the EU and in Poland. It is to be admitted that the introduction of the IPM constitutes a big step towards integration of solutions functioning in the EU state members. The new regulation will certainly ensure better security in application of plant protection products and in restriction of use of chemicals.

Bankruptcy, especially during an economic crisis, is a common phenomenon. In the adverse changing economic conditions, economic activities become a challenge. Only strong individuals are able to survive the economic fluctuations, while others are eliminated from the market. The integrated models are used in predicting bankruptcy. These models are often designed on the basis of financial indicators. Some of these models use similar financial indicators, in many cases using the same ones. The present study deals with the evaluation of the sector of animal slaughtering and processing in the period 2000-2011, as well as the evaluation of the causes of business failure in the sector, and the comparison of bankrupt companies in the sector.

Numerical simulations with the COREDIV code of JET H-mode discharges with 25 MW of auxiliary heating in the ITER-like wall (ILW) configuration with different impurity seedings – nitrogen (N), neon (Ne), argon (Ar) and krypton (Kr) – are presented. All simulations have been performed with the same transport model and input discharge parameters like auxiliary heating, volume average plasma density, confi nement factor. Only the seeded impurity puff rate was changed in the calculations. It appears that for the considered heating power of 25 MW and relatively low volume electron average density = 6.2 × 1019 m–3, impurity seeding is necessary. It has been found that for every gas at the maximum level of the seeding rate, allowed by the code convergence, the power to the plate is reduced up to 2–4 MW, with electron temperature at the plate of about 2 eV, indicating semi-detached conditions in the divertor region. It should be noted, however, that in cases with low and medium Z impurity (N, Ne and Ar), tungsten radiation is a signifi cant part of radiation losses and stays above 22–32% of the total energy losses, but for high Z impurity (Kr) it is reduced up to 10% of the total losses. The maximum of the Kr radiation is between the pedestal region and separatrix, showing that radiative mantle can be created, which might have a strong influence on the plasma parameters in the pedestal region.

The objective of this study was to describe the implementation of integrated education in Nur Hidayah Islamic Integrated Senior Secondary School of Sukoharjo, Central Java, Indonesia. It used the analytic descriptive-qualitative method with the case study approach. There are seven main principles of integration in the learning process, namely: integration of human potentials, integration of institutions, integration of curriculum, integration of learning domains, integration of three centers of education, integration of theory and practice, and integration of learning activities. The impact of the integrated education can form intact personality which encompasses religiosity, morality, intellectuality, high motivation, leadership, healthy lifestyle, self-reliance, work ethics and discipline, and socio-political awareness. Thus, models of integrated education can be implemented in senior secondary schools.

In this paper we discuss some physical limits for scaling of transistors and conducting paths inside of semiconductor integrated circuits (ICs). Since 40 years only a semiconductor technology, mostly the CMOS and the TTL technologies, are used for fabrication of integrated circuits on an industrial scale. Miniaturization of electronic devices in integrated circuits has technological limits and physical limits as well. In 2010 best parameters of commercial ICs shown the Intel Core i5-670 processor manufactured in the technology of 32 nm. Its clock frequency in turbo mode is 3.73 GHz. A forecast of the development of the semiconductor industry (ITRS 2011) predicts that sizes of electronic devices in ICs circuits will be smaller than 10 nm in the next 10 years. At least 5 physical effects should be taken into account if we discuss limits of scaling of integrated circuits.

Integrated management systems are increasingly used in modern enterprises. They allow for a more comprehensive approach to a number of important issues, affecting the modification of activities and process improvement. However, the integration itself often does not provide the right effects (apart from economic ones) without leading to real, multifaceted coupling of activities between the components of the system. To obtain such effects, it is necessary to connect the components in one system. Knowledge management can be a helpful element in this activity. Each component of the integrated management systems generates a large number of data and information. Their use is possible only by building on their basis knowledge leading to improvement of activities or innovation. The use of knowledge, especially hidden knowledge that contains unique and inaccessible knowledge for competitors, should be a priority for today's enterprises. The study presents considerations regarding the possibility of including knowledge management in integrated management systems, treating knowledge as a basic element connecting the system.

Refining, petrochemical and energy industry are examples of influence on all environment components. Uncontrolled imposing new stricter burdens and legal requirements may cause the lack of expected results in reducing their impact on the environment. Moreover, effects may be counterproductive. Simultaneously, companies have to balance between legislative challenges, social expectations and technical possibilities, paying special attention on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), sustainability and biodiversity. During the Fifth Refinery Forum in Brussels, representatives of the European Commission admitted that legislation laid down within the European Union in the years 2000-2012 lowered the competitiveness of European refining industry. This status is proven by the analysis of refining industry prepared by The Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs, and Joint Research Centre [1]. Weakening demand for fuels, lack of opportunities for increasing the capacity of European refineries (permanent shutdowns) and shale revolution cause a number of challenges including environmental. Therefore, it is necessary to take into account all factors mentioned above, and an integrated approach to environmental and climate protection in the face of changing legal regulations becomes crucial. This article proposes a new integrated, model approach to all issues connected with environmental protection in refining, petrochemical and energy complexes. In simple words, such complexes require maintenance shutdowns, repairs, overhauls. In addition, in the process various forms of energy is used and converted, so we can talk about the “exploitation of high thermodynamic machine”.

This paper explores the concept of Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) and presents changes resulting from its evolution. The purpose of this paper is to determine directions of development of the IMC concept and facilitate future research and empirical implementation of integrated marketing communication. Based on a descriptive review of the scientific literature, relevant and significant to the marketing communication knowledge, the authors established the state of development of the IMC concept. The overview of prevailing theories enabled the comparison of the existing definitions and main features of the concept. The paper presents changes and key drivers for the evolution of IMC. The analysis allowed the authors to identify new approaches to the concept of IMC in the world science and determine that the modern IMC concept is moving toward holistic solutions, which include strategic planning in the organisation and modern marketing knowledge. Nowadays, the integration of marketing communications means the need to seek solutions at a strategic level and value creation based on long-term relationships with customers. The future of the IMC concept also means the need to conduct studies that will determine the possibility of its use in relation to different types of organisations (non-profit organisations or administrative units etc.), as well as various industries or business sectors.

The article presents a dynamometer test stand for diesel engines used in contemporary trucks and specialist military equipment. The stand makes it possible to test the operating parameters of the whole integrated driveline or the engine itself and to perform a wide range of engine and gearbox diagnostics. The paper contains the results of measurements of respective parameters of the engine and the integrated driveline during their steady-state operation. Tests were carried out for one complete integrated driveline and two DI-12 engines operating independently.

Opis:

This paper describes widely used capacitor structures for charge-redistribution (CR) successive approximation register (SAR) based analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) and analyzes their linearity limitations due to kT/C noise, mismatch and parasitics. Results of mathematical considerations and statistical simulations are presented which show that most widespread dimensioning rules are overcritical. For high-resolution CR SAR ADCs in current CMOS technologies, matching of the capacitors, influenced by local mismatch and parasitics, is a limiting factor. For high-resolution medium-speed CR SAR ADCs, a novel capacitance array based approach using in-field calibration is proposed. This architecture promises a high resolution with small unit capacitances and without expensive factory calibration as laser trimming.

W pracy rozważono zagadnienie pomiaru, przy prądzie przemiennym i zamkniętej pętli sprzężenia zwrotnego, współczynnika tłumienia napięcia współbieżnego (CMRR) o wartości rzędu 1•105 ÷ 1•107 (tj. (100 ÷ 140) dB) scalonych komparatorów napięcia typu LM111. W wyniku przeprowadzonej analizy teoretycznej właściwości metrologicznych układu pomiarowego ustalono istotny związek między stosunkiem mierzonych w układzie napięć, zależnym od współczynnika CMRR, a innymi parametrami badanego komparatora napięcia, w tym zwłaszcza wzmocnieniem napięcia różnicowego, stanowiący podstawę ilościowej oceny błędu metody pomiarowej. Zaproponowano nowe techniczne rozwiązanie układu pomiarowego zawierające specjalny transformator pomiarowy napięcia przemiennego wyposażony we wtórne uzwojenia o nawoju bifilarnym, co przyczyniło się do wyeliminowania wpływu skończonej wartości wzmocnienia różnicowego badanego komparatora napięcia na mierzoną wartość współczynnika CMRR.
The comparator open-loop common-mode rejection ratio (CMRR) is a measure of the comparator's ability to reject common signals present in equal measure at both inputs. CMRR according to the definition is the ratio of the differential-mode gain to common-mode gain. Often, manufacturer data sheets only give DC CMRR value and CMRR curve over frequency while no measurement methods are given. The present work deals with measurements of common mode rejection ratio of values of the order 1•105 ÷ 1•107 (i.e. (100 ÷ 140) dB) of the voltage comparators type LM111. The present investigation concerns the method of measurement of coefficient CMRR with closed loop feedback of voltage comparator at alternating current. Important relationship between measured output voltage (Uwy) and finite values of parameters of comparator and others parameters of measuring circuit has been discovered by means of detailed analysis (see equations (12) and (17)). This relationship is the basis for quantitative analysis of the error of measuring method. Finally proposed - by author - a new solution of measuring circuit different from others existing up to date offer significant improvements over previous methods and is capable of accurate measurements on high-performance analogue comparators. It is based on special precise inductive voltage transformer with bifilar windings (Tr, Fig. 4). Such the error of measuring method is independent from finite value of differential open loop voltage gain and the output voltage is directly related to CMRR. The unity gain differential amplifier (buffer) which is implemented at input device under test (DUT: KB, Fig. 2÷4) eliminates differential and common-mode input resistances of DUT on measuring output voltage and thereby CMRR.

W pracy rozważono zagadnienie precyzyjnego pomiaru, przy prądzie przemiennym i zamkniętej pętli sprzężenia zwrotnego, współczynnika tłumienia napięcia współbieżnego CMRR (z ang.: Common Mode Rejection Ratio) o dużej wartości rzędu 1∙10⁴ ÷ 1∙10⁸ (tj. (80 ÷ 160)dB) scalonych wzmacniaczy operacyjnych. W wyniku dokonanej analizy teoretycznej właściwości metrologicznych układu pomiarowego ustalono związek między mierzonym w układzie stosunkiem napięć zależnym od współczynnika CMRR a innymi parametrami badanego wzmacniacza, w tym zwłaszcza wzmocnieniem napięcia różnicowego, stanowiący podstawę ilościowej oceny błędu metody pomiarowej. Bazując na tych wynikach, zaproponowano całkowicie nowe techniczne rozwiązanie układu pomiarowego wyposażonego w specjalny transformator pomiarowy napięcia przemiennego z wtórnymi uzwojeniami o nawoju trifilarnym, co przyczyniło się do wyeliminowania wpływu skończonej wartości wzmocnienia różnicowego badanego wzmacniacza operacyjnego na mierzoną wartość współczynnika CMRR. Zastosowana metoda synchronicznej (fazoczułej, homodynowej) detekcji napięcia przemiennego pozwala na pomiar zarówno stałoprądowej wartości tego współczynnika (CMRR₀), jak i trzydecybelowej częstotliwości załamania jego modułu (ƒ_0,CMRR). Ponadto przyczynia się do wyeliminowania wpływu zarówno temperaturowych, jak i czasowych, dryftów stałoprądowych parametrów (napięcie offsetu, prądy polaryzacji, prąd offsetu) badanego wzmacniacza oraz jego własnych szumów (termicznych i strukturalnych), a także zakłóceń zewnętrznych na mierzoną wartość współczynnika CMRR.
This paper deals with the problem of a precise measurement of the common mode rejection ratio (CMRR) coefficient of high value from the range 1∙10⁴ ÷ 1∙10⁸ (i.e. 80dB to 160dB) of integrated operational amplifiers at alternating current and closed-loop feedback There was performed the theoretical analysis of metrological parameters of a measuring circuit. As a result there was established the relationship between the voltage ratio (measured in the system) dependent on the CMRR coefficient and the other parameters of the tested amplifier, in particular the differential voltage gain (K_r) (Eq. (13)). This relationship is the basis of quantitative evaluation of the measurement method error. Based on these results, a completely new technical solution of the measurement circuit equipped with a special measuring voltage transformer (Tr) with the secondary trifilar windings was proposed (Figs. 4 and 5). It caused elimination of the effect of the differential open-loop voltage gain (K_r) finite value of the tested operational amplifier on the measured value of the CMRR coefficient (Fig. 3). The applied method of synchronous (phase sensitive, homodyne) detection of the alternating output voltage U_wy (Figs. 4 and 5) allows measurement of both the direct current (DC) value of this coefficient (CMRR₀) and the three-decibel break-down frequency (ƒ_0,CMRR) of the absolute value CMRR. Moreover, it contributes to elimination of the influence of temperature and time dependent drift DC parameters (offset voltage, input bias currents, input offset current) of the tested amplifier as well as its own intrinsic noise (thermal and structural) and external disturbances on the measured value of CMRR. There were made measurements of randomly selected amplifiers of the same type LM741 but from different producers in the number of 100 units. As a result a large scattering value of this factor of up to 10000:1 (from 75dB to 155dB) was found. Three-decibel break-down frequency ƒ_0,CMRR of the absolute value CMRR took the values from the range: 10Hz ÷ 3kHz. The measurement results confirmed the hypothesis posed by the author in the second section of the work that the CMRR coefficient has an indefinite sign. The advantage of the proposed by the author measurement circuit is its technical simplicity, easy reproducibility and low price. For these reasons, it may have wide practical application.

Opis:

A visual navigation system with a simple pattern matching algorithm was designed and analyzed. A video camera is the system main sensor for image acquisition. It is supported by magnetic compass. A Scene Matching Area Correlation (SMAC) method based on a cross correlation technique is implemented for image processing. The system was tested both in off-line simulations and on-board of a land vehicle. A GPS receiver was used for system calibration and as a source exact position coordinates. The efficiency of the signal processing algorithm during the field tests confirmed efficiency of the methods developed for determination of vehicle position and velocity. A visual navigation system based on simple image processing techniques may be applied on board mobile vehicles in an autonomous way or as a component of integrated navigation system.

Opis:

Description of the test stand for investigation of the integrated powertrain (powerpack) for armoured modular vehicle (AMV), disassembled from vehicle, is presented in this paper. The powerpack unit consist of a diesel engine, a gearbox and a cooling unit with a hydraulic fan drive. The stand is equipped with measuring devices for torque measure, fuel consumption, exhaust smoke and exhaust gas components emission analysers. The powerpack has been loaded by a hydraulic dynamometer of power range up to 1250 kW. It is dynabar water dynamometer with high dynamics of load changes. For control the motor and drive, system the original control panels from the vehicle was used. The original start-up unit, mid fuel tank and air filters were used too. Research on the powerpack unit was made in the steady state versus the engine load and speed. The parameters of the engine and exhaust components were measured and compared with the catalogue values. Two modes of engine work were compared – economic and dynamic modes. Those differences between two modes are result of maximum fuel consumption decreasing. The parameters of engine work were comparable in middle and low range of engine load. On the stand investigation in transient states during free engine acceleration were made. It was found that additional load of engine is too high and this problem should be clarified.

The presented paper shares the perception of Integrated Cumulative Grade Point Average (iCGPA) as an integrated grading system. The iCGPA system is one of the key initiatives outlined for implementation under the Malaysia Education Blueprint (Higher Education). A qualitative approach through discussion with the focus group was applied for information gathering. The sample populations were seven lecturers and fifty students who are directly involved in the iCGPA pilot project. Their perceptions on iCGPA were explored during the interviews. The findings show that iCGPA is evidently able to identify the students’ actual ability, knowledge, skills, and attitude. The analysis of interview data yielded four major themes. The iCGPA assessment not only aids students to improve their performances but also directly helps lecturers in varying their teaching methodologies. Further research on the effects of different contexts and factors is necessary to make a systematic evaluation of iCGPA.

In the background monitoring areas (small wooded catchments) agricultural pollution is negligible and the atmosphere is the only source of widescale pollution. We review the chemical compositions in the soil profiles of Auk?taitija, Dzukija and ?emaitija in Lithuania. We describe also trends in groundwater level fluctuations, the chemical composition of groundwater in 1994-1999, compare the chemical and physical properties of runoff water and show results of the simulation of successive data series of soil water flow and soil moisture saturation at different depths by the SOIL model. The simulation results may be used to evaluate water movement and element mobility in the soil.

Functional urban areas are becoming increasingly important in urban development policies as a comprehensive approach to solving problems and addressing development goals, not only of cities but also neighboring towns. Integrated territorial investments (ITI) are a new tool of cohesion policies aimed at better achievement of socio-economic development objectives regarding urban functional areas. The purpose of the paper is to assess the use of ITIs in policies for the development of Bialystok Functional Area by analyzing strategic documents, including the Strategy of Integrated Territorial Investments of Bialystok Functional Area for the years 2014-2020. The following research hypothesis has been formulated: the financial resources in ITIs' allocation enable the city to strengthen its cooperation with the neighboring municipalities, mainly in the fields of public transport, investment attractiveness, and human capital.

Purpose – The aim of the paper is to identify the activities implemented as part of the Integrated Territorial Investments (ITI) in order to improve transport accessibility and mobility using the example of the investments undertaken in the Białystok Functional Area (BFA). The formulated hypothesis implies that in the Bialystok Functional Area support is available for various projects financed from ITI in order to improve transport mobility and accessibility. Research method – The analysis was based both on a literature review of the subject and using the Author’s own research conducted in October 2019 on the Bialystok Functional Area Association (BFAA), including the data from the IT system – SL 2014. The analysis was based on the case studies of the projects implemented within ITI funds within the frame of improving the mobility and transport accessibility in the BFA. The analysis was supplemented with statistical research and a survey which was conducted among the employees of ten BFA municipalities responsible for the implementation of transport investments. Results – The analysis demonstrated that the projects aimed at improving the mobility and transport accessibility are undertaken by the majority of BFA municipalities. These activities are varied and adjusted to the needs of specific local government units, with a high share of funding for this type of undertakings. The undertaken investments focus, specifically on the development of the bicycle paths network and the road infrastructure. The implemented projects will not solve all the transport problems of the BFA, however they constitute an important element that ensures mainly the increase of the availability of Park & Ride and Bike & Ride infrastructure and municipal public transport services. Originality /value – The integrated territorial investment is a new instrument of the European Union cohesion policy. It is specifically dedicated for the functional urban areas. Hence it is a new research topic, the study of which will be important to determine the pros and cons of the new ITI instrument and its assessment in the development of cities and their functional areas.

The purpose of this study was to compare the effect of quadriceps isometric exercises along with hip abductors isometric exercises as integrated exercise with quadriceps exercises in reducing pain, disability in medial knee osteoarthritis. The Total of 54 patients (both male and female) were recruited in this study but on the basis of inclusion and exclusion criteria, only 32 were included in this study. Womac index was opted as outcome measures to collect the data of pain, disability and functional limitation. Participants were randomly assigned to integrated exercise group; (n = 16) (mean age 52) who performed exercises [Quadriceps isometric along with hip abductor isometric exercises] and quadriceps isometric exercises group (n = 16) (mean age 49) performed for 3 weeks. 32 patients were analyzed and the effect of integrated exercises [Quadriceps isometric along with hip abductor isometric exercises] showed a statistically significant difference in pain, disability and functional limitation (p < 0.000). Total duration to collect the pre and post data of pain, disability and functional limitation was 3 weeks. 3 weeks of exercise protocol was effective in both groups in terms of reducing pain and disability but integrated exercises were found to be more effective than quadriceps exercise in improving the pain, disability and functional limitation over the time at the level of significance.

Opis:

Safety is an integral part of the management process of an organisation. The effectiveness of safety is related to the safety management system of the organisation, and the organisation’s management system as a whole. Both systems are connected to the general principles of management. These general management principles were used to establish an integrated approach to the process of safety management through the integration of Integrated Management Systems (IMS), which work on the principles and rules of standardised management control systems, and which are possible to add to the already established management control systems, with the goal of the elimination of duplication in safety management, including reducing the cost of safety management itself. One benefit for the field of science is the creation of new universal algorithm steps for building integrated safety, which is applicable for managing any area of safety under any organisation’s conditions, regardless of the size and subject of activity of the given organisation. A benefit in practice is that it brings closer the general objective or aim, which is the effective approach to the integration process of the organisation management system.
Bezpieczeństwo jest integralną częścią procesu zarządzania organizacją. Skuteczność bezpieczeństwa związana jest z systemem zarządzania bezpieczeństwem organizacji i systemem zarządzania organizacją jako całością. Oba systemy połączone są ogólnymi zasadami zarządzania. Te ogólne zasady zarządzania zostały wykorzystane do stworzenia zintegrowanego podejścia do procesu zarządzania bezpieczeństwem poprzez integrację Zintegrowanych Systemów Zarządzania (ZSZ), które działają na zasadach i regułach standaryzowanych systemów kontroli zarządzania, a które można dodać do już ustanowionych systemów kontroli zarządzania, mając na celu eliminację powielania w ramach zarządzania bezpieczeństwem, w tym redukcję kosztów samego zarządzania bezpieczeństwem. Korzyścią dla tej dziedziny nauki jest tworzenie nowych uniwersalnych kroków algorytmu do budowania zintegrowanego bezpieczeństwa, które ma zastosowanie do zarządzania dowolnym obszarem bezpieczeństwa w warunkach każdej organizacji, niezależnie od wielkości i przedmiotu działalności danej organizacji. Korzyścią w praktyce jest to, że przybliża to ogólny cel lub cel, jakim jest skuteczne podejście do procesu integracji systemu zarządzania organizacją.

The species Halyomorpha halys (Stål), which is endemic in East Asia, was first detected in North America in 1996 and was probably introduced into Europe in 2008. The species is polyphagous. It consumes over 170 host plant species and significantly impacts crop pro- duction. In Greece the first recording of its presence was in 2014, when it was reported as a nuisance in houses in the region of Athens. The present study describes the systematic spread and damage of this invasive pest, including the first recorded identification in peach and olive cultivations in the prefecture of Imathia in central Macedonia, Greece. Sampling was carried out in representative peach and olive farms during July and August, 2018 and 2019 in which significant levels of fruit damage were recorded, especially during 2018. The population of the species was recorded throughout the winter seasons of 2018 and 2019 in which overwintering adults were systematically recorded in shelters and other construc- tions near fruit orchards. Given the dynamics of the species and its destructive impact on a wide range of host species, H. halys is expected to be a major pest. Additionally, considering that the prefecture of Imathia is the most important peach growing area of Greece, further studies of the presence and population dynamics of this species along with the establishment of particular management actions to control the population is impera- tive for the future protection of horticultural production in Greece.

The presented study aims at the identifi cation of these mechanisms in the area of integrated education as well as at showing possible consequences for educational practice and the development of disabled learners. The first is related to the biological model of disability, which is determined by the notion of physiological norm and for which organism impairment is a constitutive feature. What ranks as priority in the second standpoint are special educational needs treated as a derivative of functional disorders. This point of view is particularly visible in some psychological definitions presenting disability as individual functional disorders. The last perspective of viewing the disabled learner which is discussed here is situated in the assumptions of constructivism. Each of the presented standpoints allows for slightly different handling of the disabled learner’s school problems. In the presented article, the discussed issues are rooted in the last – constructivist approach.

Opis:

A model to optimize the planning of the chemical integrated system comprised by multi-devices and multi-products has been proposed in this paper. With the objective to make more profits, the traditional model for optimizing production planning has been proposed. The price of chemicals, the market demand, and the production capacity have been considered as mutative variables, then an improved model in which some parameters are not constant has been developed and a new method to solve the grey linear programming has been proposed. In the grey programming model, the value of credibility can be suggested by the decision-makers, and the results of the production planning calculated by the model can help them to achieve their desired target. An actual case has been studied by the proposed methodology, and the proposed methodology can be popularized to other cases.

Sprawozdawczość zintegrowana (Integrated Reporting – IR) jest najnowszym podejściem do sprawozdawczości korporacyjnej, obecnie najszerzej dyskutowanym w literaturze przedmiotu. Jest kolejnym etapem w ewolucji sprawozdawczości organizacji i kolejną próbą jego udoskonalenia. Obecnie stawia się pytanie, czy sprawozdawczość ta umożliwi przedstawienie rzetelnego obrazu działalności organizacji i czy wpłynie na lepsze zrozumienie sytuacji ekonomiczno-finansowej jednostki gospodarczej oraz jej dokonań. Celem artykułu jest próba wyjaśnienia, czy sprawozdanie zintegrowane w obecnym kształcie może w przyszłości zastąpić aktualną sprawozdawczość i stanowić potencjalne rozwiązanie jej niedostatków. W artykule wykorzystano wyniki studiów literatury przedmiotu oraz wcześniejszych badań autorów, a także obserwacje praktyki gospodarczej w obszarze raportowania zintegrowanego.
Integrated reporting (IR) is the latest approach to corporate reporting, currently most widely discussed topic in the literature on the subject. It is another stage in the evolution of the organization’s reporting and another attempt at its improvement. Presently, IR is questioned whether it really provides for a reliable presentation of the organization’s present and future performance, and whether integrated reporting will actually result in a better understanding of the economic and financial situation of a business entity and its accomplishments. The purpose of this article is an attempt at answering a question of whether an integrated report in its present form can in the future replace the current corporate reporting and constitute a potential solution to its shortcomings. The article uses the results of the literature studies on the subject, results of the authors’ earlier research studies, as well as observations of the current business practice in the area of integrated reporting.

What has been presented in the paper is a research/testing tool used in the Air F orce Institute of Technology (Instytut Techniczny Wojsk Lotniczych - ITWL) to build, actuate, test, and optimise integrated communication systems as far as both a set of devices the system is composed of and the applied software are concerned. Particular attention has been paid to the so-called integration station (built under the Mi-8, Mi-17, Mi-24 upgrade project), i.e. the laboratory equipment to optimise and unify communication systems integrated on the basis of digital data buses (following the MIL-1553B standard, among other ones). Such equipment has allowed ITWL to integrate new communication devices/systems while upgrading the W-3PL helicopter. Some selected tasks performed with this equipment engagedhave been discussed. Also, problems arising while actuating and testing the developed software to integrate communication devices/systems (including digitally controlled radio stations of the RRC, HARRIS, and MR6000 types, communication control panels of the PSL-1 type and multi-function displays of the MW-l type) have been given consideration in the scope of the software functionality and reliability. Presented are also additional monitoring and measuring systems used to test this software, just to mention the M230 rugged laptop computer used to diagnose the system and prepare plans of the radio communication.

Currently, the idea of inclusive education is perceived as a model of education, far exceeding the idea of inclusion of students with disabilities into mainstream education. It is a vision of a school aimed at considering the needs of all students, i.e. those who exhibit no severe developmental disabilities, with special educational needs, including gifted individuals. Additionally, the scholars of inclusive education agree, that the process is neither easy nor simple. One of the determining factors indicated, is the attitude of teachers towards the very idea. Therefore, a research idea arose, aiming at examining the opinion of teachers regarding the subject of inclusive education, as a potentially dominant form of education. Recognising at least some of its determinants seemed essential. The following article focuses on two of the aforementioned: types of institutions, where the teachers are employed, and the teachers’ professional experience. The research encompasses integrated preschools. It seems that the experience of teachers of such institutions proves particularly significant for recognising the chances and dangers of inclusive education, within the context of Polish integration experience. The two professional groups distinguished, with substantial and minor professional experience, allow to examine the perspective of inclusive action.

The main aim of presented article is to present methodology how sophisticated products as compressor equipment can be considered and analysed as a complex technical system which consists of jointly operating components – a set of hardware, software, operational staff and documented information. In process modelling, these components are interacting in different processes of inputs, outputs, mechanisms (resources) or management. Based on the regulatory requirements for each component of the system, a key efficiency indicator can be identified. This allows to control the process and make appropriate decisions to improve the system. The application of the proposed methodology for the development and implementation of an integrated management system reduce the cost of resources and significantly improve the quality of the implementation of processes.

The paper presents the design of the integrated illumination and irrigation system using a PLC and its visualisation. Opis:

Soybean [Glycine max (L.)], one of the most important crops in Argentina, is commonly infected by Colletotrichum truncatum, the causal agent of anthracnose. Tagetes filifolia essential oil (EO) is presented as a natural approach to minimize the dose of chemical fungicides applied to the crop. The fungus Trichoderma harzianum is used as a biocontrol agent because of its ability to produce secondary metabolites that destroy cell walls of phytopathogenic fungi. However, its performance can be affected when it is exposed to chemical fungicides. The objective of this work was to evaluate the antifungal activity of T. filifolia EO both individually and combined with chemical fungicides against C. truncatum, and its effect on T. harzianum. Fungi were isolated from soybean crops. The following pesticides were assessed: carbendazim (F1), difenoconazole (F2) and trifloxystrobin + cyproconazole (F3). The EO was obtained from native plants and its chemical composition was analyzed by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS). The minimum fungicide concentration (MFC) was determined for each compound. Fungicides were combined with the EO to look for combinations that allowed a reduction of pesticide doses. Among fungicides, F1 showed the strongest antifungal activity against C. truncatum (MFC = 0.25 µl ⋅ l–1) and T. harzianum (MFC = 1.5 µl ⋅ l–1). The sensitivity of both fungi to the EO was lower than to fungicides. The EO presented MFCs of 6,000 and 9,000 µl ⋅ l–1 against C. truncatum and T. harzianum. The EO and F1 affected the growth of T. harzianum at concentrations that controlled C. truncatum (31 and 10%). Eight combinations of fungicides and the EO allowed fungicide concentration reductions of up to 80%, although the growth of the biocontrol strain was also affected. The results demonstrated that T. filifolia EO can be used to control anthracnose and reduce doses of chemical fungicides applied to soybean crops. Its effect on T. harzianum should be considered in the design of integrated pest management strategies.

XXI wiek przyniósł w dziedzinie projektowania rewolucję większą niż miała miejsce przy zamianie deski kreślarskiej na oprogramowanie komputerowe CAD. Mamy do czynienia z niezwykle dynamicznym rozwo jem technologii oraz koniecznością stosowania się do wymogów związanych z projektowaniem zrównoważonym. Projektowanie zrównoważone wymaga ścisłej koordynacji na wszystkich etapach i w obrębie wszystkich biorących w nim udział specjalności. Pojawiły się więc narzędzia wspomagające w postaci oprogramowania w standardzie BIM (Building Information Modeling). Umożliwia ono już na bardzo wczesnych etapach opracowywania koncepcji budynku wprowadzenie szeregu istotnych parametrów i wykonanie wstępnych analiz służących zrównoważonemu projektowaniu. Wyniki tych analiz pozwalają na skorygowanie przyjętych założeń projektowych i ich optymalizację. Nauczanie projektowania zrównoważonego w oparciu o te technologie jest dziś niezwykle pomocne dla architektów i inżynierów, a w przyszłości może się stać nieodzowne. Dlatego edukacja w tym zakresie oraz integracja projektowania urbanistyczno-architektonicznego oraz budowlanego wydaje się być konieczna już od pierwszych lat studiów na wydziałach architektury.
The 21st century brought about a greater evolution in the field of designing than the one when the drawing board was replaced with the CAD software. We are dealing now with extremely dynamic development of technology and with the need to comply with requirements relating to sustainable design. Sustainable design requires strict coordination at all stages and within the scope of all specialties it concerns. Therefore, supporting tools have emerged – software in the BIM standard (Building Information Modelling). It enables to introduce a number of essential parameters and to perform preliminary analyses relating to sustainable design already at very early stages of the process of developing the concept of a building. The results of such analyses allow to correct the design assumptions adopted and to optimise them. Teaching sustainable design with the support of these technologies is extremely helpful for architects and engineers today, and it can become indispensable in the future. Hence education in this scope and integration of the urban / architectural design with the construction design seems to be necessary starting from the first years of study at faculties of architecture.

Opis:

This article introduces a laboratory-scale concept and research on photovoltaic (PV) modules designed for building integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) market, with enhanced architectural aesthetics and no protective glass. The proposed concept involves replacing a typical glass protective and load-bearing element of PV modules with an ethylene tetrafluoroethylene (ETFE) foil while using an aluminium sheet as a load-bearing element in the system. To further enhance the visual appeal of the solution, special modifications were proposed to the geometry of the front security foil. To confirm the feasibility of the proposed concept for mass production, critical tests were conducted on the material system and the process of modifying the surface of the ETFE foil. These tests included evaluating adhesion strength between layers, optical transmission coefficients, and electrical parameters of the developed PV modules. Additionally, the effect of the ETFE film modification on the formation of micro-cracks in solar cells was also investigated.
