In this paper, the time-optimal control problem for infinite order hyperbolic systems in which time delays appear in the integral form both in state equations and in boundary conditions is considered. Optimal controls are characterized in terms of an adjoint system and shown to be unique and bang-bang. These results extend to certain cases of nonlinear control problems. The particular properties of optimal control are discussed.

Opis:
Extremal problems for integral time lag infinite order parabolic systems are studied in the paper. An optimal boundary control problem for distributed infinite order parabolic systems in which integral time lags appear in the Neumann boundary conditions is solved. Such equations constitute in a linear approximation a universal mathematical model for many diffusion processes (e.g., modeling and control of heat transfer processes). The time horizon is fixed. Using the Dubovicki-Milutin framework, the necessary and sufficient conditions of optimality for the Neumann problem with the quadratic performance indexes and constrained control are derived.
Zaprezentowano ekstremalne problemy dla systemów parabolicznych nieskończonego rzędu z całkowymi opóźnieniami czasowymi. Rozwiązano problem optymalnego sterowania brzegowego dla systemów parabolicznych nieskończonego rzędu, w których całkowe opóźnienia czasowe występują w warunkach brzegowych Neumanna. Tego rodzaju równania stanowią w liniowym przybliżeniu uniwersalny model matematyczny dla procesów dyfuzyjnych. Korzystając z metody Dubowickiego-Milutina wyprowadzono warunki konieczne i wystarczające optymalności dla problemu liniowo-kwadratowego.

In the paper a new, state space, non integer order model for one dimensional heat transfer process is presented. The model is based on known semigroup model. The derivative with respect to time is described by the non integer order Caputo operator, the spatial derivative is described by integer order operator. The elementary properties of the state operator are proven. The solution of state equation is calculated with the use of Laplace transform. Results of experiments show, that the proposed model is more accurate than analogical integer order model in the sense of square cost function.

In this paper, by using the theorems of [Lions (1971) and Lions & Magenes (1972)], the optimal control problem for distributed hyperbolic systems, involving second order operator with an infinite number of variables, in which constant lags appear both in the state equations and in the boundary conditions is considered. The optimality conditions for Neumann boundary conditions are obtained and the set of inequalities that characterize these conditions is formulated. Also, several mathematical examples for derived optimality conditions are presented. Finally, we consider an optimal distributed control problem for (n x n)-infinite variables hyperbolic systems.

Wear determination engages a major part of our efforts in considered numerous tribology problems including animal teeth and joints, human joints, cams, piston, rings, tires, brakes, dirt seals, belts, shoes, fabrics, electrical contacts, tape and CD reader heads and others. At times it seems after numerous observation, that the rate of progress in the knowledge of wear is very slow. Modern design activities are mostly concern in the wear cumulative values determination rather than the wear values determination in successive time units of friction nods during the operation time. Therefore, presented paper determines in analytical way the cumulative wear values of friction nods after specified finite and infinite units of operation time. Therefore are considered the convergences and divergences of wear value cumulative processes for various friction nods. The kind of friction nods depends on type of wear process propagation. Such propagation is described in this paper by the recurrence first order equation. Mentioned equation is formulated with constant or variable parameters. This parameters are determined by virtue of experimental measurements and depend on: bearing materials properties, environmental conditions, roughness of cooperating surfaces, vibration effects, electrical conductivity of materials, hardness of materials, deformations mode of cooperating surfaces, temperature, air humidity, kind of the friction, sliding velocity, loading of the friction nod and others. The range of wearing influence components and devices is endless. Therefore, this paper presents the methods of solutions of numerous specific class of ordinary non-homogeneous recurrence equations of first order with variable coefficients occurring in hydrodynamic theory of bearing especially micro-bearing wear problems. The obtained solutions are examined by means of the UOS operator. The examples presented in this paper determine the abrasive wear cumulative values of micro-bearing system after the indicated time units of operating time. Moreover, after infinite time units of micro-bearing operation are considered the convergences and divergences of the obtained sums of cumulative wear process.

A new, state space, non-integer order model for the heat transfer process is presented. The proposed model is based on a Feller semigroup one, the derivative with respect to time is expressed by the non-integer order Caputo operator, and the derivative with respect to length is described by the non-integer order Riesz operator. Elementary properties of the state operator are proven and a formula for the step response of the system is also given. The proposed model is applied to the modeling of temperature distribution in a one dimensional plant. Results of experiments show that the proposed model is more accurate than the analogical integer order model in the sense of the MSE cost function.

A new, state space, discrete-time, and memory-efficient model of a one-dimensional heat transfer process is proposed. The model is derived directly from a time-continuous, state-space semigroup one. Its discrete version is obtained via a continuous fraction expansion method applied to the solution of the state equation. Fundamental properties of the proposed model, such as decomposition, stability, accuracy and convergence, are also discussed. Results of experiments show that the model yields good accuracy in the sense of the mean square error, and its size is significantly smaller than that of the model employing the well-known power series expansion approximation.

The existence results for an abstract Cauchy problem involving a higher order differential inclusion with infinite delay in a Banach space are obtained. We use the concept of the existence family to express the mild solutions and impose the suitable conditions on the nonlinearity via the measure of noncompactness in order to apply the theory of condensing multimaps for the demonstration of our results. An application to some classes of partial differential equations is given.

The paper is intended to show a new state space, non integer order model of an one-dimensional heat transfer process. The proposed model derives directly from time continuous, state space semigroup model. The fractional order derivative with respect to time is by a new operator proposed by Caputo and Fabrizio, the non integer order spatial derivative is expressed by Riesz operator. The Caputo-Fabrizio operator can be directly implementated using MATLAB, because it does not require us to apply any approximation. Analytical formulae of step response are given, the system decomposition was discussed also. Main results from the paper show that the use of Caputo Fabrizio operator allows us to obtain the simple in implementation and analysis model of the considered heat transfer process. The accuracy of the proposed model in the sense of a MSE cost function is satisfying.
