Opis:
Dynamic response of robotic systems is affected by deformation of their flexible components, velocity and mass of the systems, as well as by the presence of clearance or impact between the components. Since accurate simulations of such robotic systems are increasingly important, the modelling and dynamical behaviour of an extensible mechanism with a rigid crank and a flexible link is investigated in this paper. The equations of motion of the extensible flexible link, constrained to a circular, Cartesian, elliptical, Cassinian, Lame or pear-shaped quartic path, are presented. A dynamical analysis is carried out in order to compare the dynamical response of the flexible link vs. a rigid link under the combined effect of different parameters such as flexibility and clearance. The simulation result shows clear trajectories divergence due to the impact effect of the flexible link on the rigid crank.

Offshore structures are exposed to the risk of damage caused by various types of extreme and accidental events, such as fire, explosion, collision, and dropped objects. These events cause structural damage in the impact area, including yielding of materials, local buckling, and in some cases local failure and penetration. The structural response of an FPSO hull subjected to events involving dropped objects is investigated in this study, and non-linear finite element analyses are carried out using an explicit dynamic code written LS-DYNA software. The scenarios involving dropped objects are based on the impact from the fall of a container and rigid mechanical equipment. Impact analyses of the dropped objects demonstrated that even though some structural members were permanently deformed by drop loads, no failure took place in accordance with the plastic strain criteria, as per NORSOK standards. The findings and insights derived from the present study may be informative in the safe design of floating offshore structures.

Purpose: The paper describes the functioning of the RIA system in New Zealand using the analogy of RIA and the evaluation of public interventions. Presented solutions can provide inspiration for the Polish government in the process of improving the quality and extent of the use of RIA. Methodology: The analysis is based on a review of government documents and literature, as well as individual interviews and correspondence with representatives of the government of NZ. Conclusions: The RIA system in NZ is not error-free and its shortcomings include inter alia the lack of solutions with respect to ex-post analysis and insufficiently rigorous methodological approach. At the same time, a number of solutions can be regarded as good practice, e.g.: regular external quality reviews of RIS, obligation to supplement each RIS with ‘quality assessment’ and a ‘disclosure statement’ outlining their credibility and utility. Practical implications: The presented strengths of the RIA system in NZ may serve as an inspiration for modifying the RIA system in Poland. Originality: The RIA system is presented through the prism of the model of evaluation use, which is a related tool of collecting information about non-regulatory interventions.

This article presents passive safety issues of a buggy-type car. The issue has been presented in the context of the dynamic impact analysis of the aluminium frame of the vehicle into a rigid wall. The study was conducted using the finite element method in the Abaqus® software. With regard to numerical calculations, a dynamic impact simulation was performed, which defined the critical areas of the structure. Numerical analysis allowed to obtain both the state of the strain of the frame structure and the characteristics of the construction work during the impact. The results of the research provide high-quality prepared FEM model.

Opis:
Bumping is one of the natural hazards that occur in Polish collieries. It is a common phenomenon but difficult to predict and very often it causes huge losses in mining equipment and roadway structure. Death of miners working underground is most severe result of bumping. To reduce or even to eliminate results of bumping, especially fatal cases, many safety measures have been used. Frame of arch support is one of the measures applied to reduce dangerous results of bumping. Simulation test ofimpact load of arch yielding support was presented in the paper. The simulation of support load was realized in two stages. Static load of frame of yielding arch support was simulated at the first stage. Among others simulation of assembly of arch support components was carried out. Non-linear simulation, including contact phenomena, was conducted for that purpose. First stage of the task was realized in MSC.Marc/Mentat software Structure of yielding arch support was dynamically loaded at the second stage. The forcing corresponded to real dynamic loads that werefound in mine workings. Second stage of the task was realized in MSC.Dytran software The results of simulations carried out at the KOMAG Institute of Mining Technology were compared with the results of tests of arch supports, which were realized at the Central Mining Institute.

The future of automotive industry is to design and develop electrical vehicles to control the emissions released from gaseous fuels and not to release any harmful gases in to atmosphere. In this work, an attempt was made to analyze the behavior of two wheeler E- bike with alternative materials of frame such as Aluminum alloy (Al-A), Titanium alloy (Ti-A), Grey cast iron (G-CI), Carbon fiber epoxy (CF-E), and Structural steel (ST-S) and compared with AISI-1020 material. The frame of Yamaha R15 is initially modeled by using solid work and imported to Ansys. Static analysis was performed by applying a load of 1500 N on the frame and Impact analysis was performed by applying velocity of 27.7 m/s along X direction. The values of equivalent von Mises stress and total deformation for all the materials are observed. After performing static analysis, it was observed that, CF- Epoxy material exhibited higher value of Equivalent von Mises stress (7.659*107 Pa) and lower total deformation of (0.304×10-6 mm) compared to remaining materials. Based on impact analysis , it was observed that, CF-E exhibited better von Mises stress of (3994.9 MPa) closer to AISI 1020 and structural steel materials and total deformation is observed to be lower value (0.1106 mm) compared to remaining materials.

Vibration energy harvesting systems are using real ambient sources of vibration excitation. In our paper, we study the dynamical voltage response of the piezoelectric vibrational energy harvesting system (PVEHs) with a mechanical resonator possessing an amplitude limiter. The PVEHs consist of the cantilever beam with a piezoelectric patch. The proposed system was subjected to the inertial excitation from the engine suspension. Impacts of the beam resonator are useful to increase of system’s frequency transition band. The suitable simulations of the resonator and piezoelectric transducer are performed by using measured signal from the engine suspension. Voltage outputs of linear (without amplitude limiter) and nonlinear harvesters were compared indicating better efficiency of the nonlinear design.

W artykule przedstawiono wybrane kwestie aktualnie poruszane w zakresie ewaluacji koncepcji zrównoważonego rozwoju, warunkującej sekwencje ich cyklu życia. Polityka klimatyczno-energetyczna Unii Europejskiej jako inspiracja determinantów polityczno-społeczno-gospodarczych określa wpływ sektora energetycznego na ocenę cyklu życia koncepcji zrównoważonego rozwoju. Przeprowadzona w tym celu wielowymiarowa analiza potencjalnego wpływu, związanego z wyodrębnionymi etapami cyklu życia, przyjaznymi środowisku będzie wykorzystywana do opracowania oceny koncepcji zrównoważonego rozwoju. Zakres czasowy analizy wpływu obejmował okres od ostatniej dekady XX w. do dzisiaj. Celem artykułu jest zdefiniowanie ekoenergetyki w kontekście koncepcji zrównoważonego rozwoju mające pomóc w określeniu oddziaływania w/w determinantów, uczynienia jej atrakcyjniejszej wizerunkowo i przyczynienia się do ochrony naszej planety. Analizie poddano dane za lata 2020-2022.
The article presents selected issues currently being addressed in the evaluation of sustainable development concepts, conditioning the sequences of their life cycle. The climate and energy policy of the European Union as an inspiration of political-socio-economic determinants determines the impact of the energy sector on the evaluation of the life cycle of the concept of sustainable development. The multidimensional analysis of the potential impact associated with the identified environmentally friendly life cycle stages conducted for this purpose will be used to develop an assessment of the concept of sustainable development. The temporal scope of the analysis covered the period from the last decade of the 20th century to today. The purpose of the article is to define eco-energy in the context of the concept of sustainable development to help determine the impact of the factors mentioned above, make it more attractive in terms of image and contribute to the protection of our planet.

The objective of the present work is to analyse the environmental impact assessment of the project consisting in the construction of the Tuchów bypass (Tarnów district of the Małopolska Region, Poland) as well as to verify the correctness of the report on the impact of the said project on the environment. The paper presents issues related to environmental impact assessment and a detailed analysis of the impact of the planned project on particular elements of the natural environment, including soil and water conditions, land surface, surface and underground water, atmospheric air, acoustic climate, as well as waste management. The conclusions are based on the results of the research and descriptive analysis. It has been demonstrated that the report on the impact of the Tuchów bypass road construction project on the environment has been prepared correctly, and the investment project in question will not have a negative impact on the environment or human health.
Celem pracy jest analiza oceny oddziaływania na środowisko przedsięwzięcia polegającego na budowie obwodnicy Tuchowa (powiat tarnowski, Małopolska, Polska), a także weryfikacja poprawności sporządzenia raportu o oddziaływaniu tego przedsięwzięcia na środowisko. W pracy przedstawione zostały zagadnienia związane z oceną oddziaływania na środowisko oraz szczegółowa analiza oddziaływania planowanego przedsięwzięcia na poszczególne elementy środowiska, w tym: warunki gruntowo-wodne, powierzchnię ziemi, wody powierzchniowe i podziemne, powietrze atmosferyczne, klimat akustyczny, a także gospodarkę odpadami. Wnioski oparto na podstawie wyników analizy opisowo-badawczej. Wykazano, że raport o oddziaływaniu przedsięwzięcia budowy obwodnicy Tuchowa na środowisko został sporządzony poprawnie, a przedmiotowa inwestycja nie będzie negatywnie oddziaływać na środowisko i zdrowie ludzi.

In the present study, a finite element impact model was developed and analyzed using commercial FEM code ANSYS® and then validated via a drop-weight impact experiment. Moreover, double-impactor impact models were designed and developed with different impact distribution and locations of two impactors to compare impact properties. A total of 18 impact scenarios comprised of asymmetric and symmetric types were performed. The effect of impact location on the impact resistance force and duration time was investigated: the closer the impact point is to the fabric center, the longer the impact duration time. In addition, the effect of impact location on impactor failure deflection was also investigated and it was concluded that regardless of the symmetric or asymmetric impact scenario, the smaller the average distance between the impact location of the two impactors from the fixed boundary, the smaller the overall average failure deflection that occurs. The relevance of impact location and fabric energy absorption capacity was also identified. Furthermore, the effect of impact location on fabric stress distribution and transverse deformation and of the variation of the impact velocity on fabric impact behaviors were investigated. These findings will provide important guidance for engineering soft body armor and composite materials.

Opis:
The sensitivity of explosives to various initiating events, in probability of initiation-level of stimulus space, has a shape of sigmoidal curve. In standard sensitivity tests only one point on this curve is sought, most often the 50% initiation probability level. The usual (and most often used) method for its determination is the up-and-down method. The whole sensitivity curve can be obtained by conducting large number of trials at all levels or more effectively by probit analysis. The usage of probit analysis, improvement of the precision of the results and comparison with the results precision of the up-and-down method is demonstrated by the example of determination of sensitivity to friction.

By example of steel 17G1S, the regularities in the impact fracture of Charpy specimens at normal and low temperatures are described. The relationship between the energy parameters of fracture (impact toughness) and the deformation response of the material (the height of shear lips) of the specimens from the pipe steel is established. The micromechanisms of impact fracture of the material are described. At 20 °C and –30 °C, focal splitting of the material was observed on the fracture surface of specimens; at –60 °C, the material failed in a brittle manner by the mechanism of cleavage.

Trans Papua corridor highway is now an important highway, predictable way Trans Papua will experience overcapacity in the future. To overcome this situation the trans-Papua road building is planned. The investment of highway construction will always be involved in risk with certain scale, it is necessary to do the risk analysis. The purpose of this study is to identify and analyze the risk, measuring of risk probability point and risk impact and risk test by performing simulations using @Risk For Excel software. This research was conducted using a survey method and interview with respondents. The survey was conducted in three phases, namely: beginning survey, preliminary survey and detailed survey. Based on research conducted identified four risk factors are financing risk, construction risk, equipment risk and force majeure. These four risks are identified in the medium risk category. The influence level of risk impact to the increase of construction investment budget plan trans-Papua roads as a whole amounted to 8.07% (IDR. 1,183 trillion equivalent to USD 82,684 million) with risk factor for 0,549 then classified as medium risk. While detaily 15% (IDR. 2,194 trillionequivalent to USD 153,346 million) by a factor of 0.685 then risk being classified as at risk. The most sensitive risk is the risk of Construction.

3,3’-Diamino-4,4’-azoxyfurazan (DAAF) is the principal component of an insensitive booster explosive; refined DAAF and DAAF surface-coated with Viton A were prepared. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) were employed to characterize the morphology, composition, and thermal decomposition of these samples. The impact sensitivity and theoretical detonation velocity of DAAF-based composites were also measured and analyzed. The results showed that DAAF surface-coated with Viton A was successfully obtained, and the impact sensitivity of DAAF/Viton A composites was much lower than that of crude DAAF. In addition, DAAF/Viton A composites exhibited better thermal stability compared to crude DAAF and refined DAAF. The theoretical detonation velocity of DAAF/Viton A composites and TATB/Viton A composites are roughly the same. Therefore, there is still great potential for DAAF to be used as the main explosive component of a booster explosive.

The main problem of social costs and benefits is that the impact is difficult to predict and quantify and can be taken into account differently by authorities, decision makers and project developers. The main purpose of the paper is to identify and demonstrate a concept of the social impact of infrastructure projects. The principal methods used are a review of existing social science literature and surveys based on focus group interviews, devoted stakeholders of infrastructure projects, and their involvement at different stages of the project. The expected result is a set of outputs and outcomes which demonstrates social impacts (costs and benefits) related to stakeholders’ groups of the analyzed project.

In pursuance of the Saudi vision 2030, the Al-Hasa municipality has been allocating a total of US$ 60.1 million since 2018 to the implementation of a modern Municipal Solid Wastes (MSW) management system. In addition to the improved old components, the system involves six new-engineered cells, five of which will be gradually implemented in progresses, two waste sort-out lines station, and LFG energy recovery. The present research aimed at investigating the environmental and economic impacts of this MSW management system. For this purpose, the authors applied the Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) and Life Cycle Costs Analysis (LCCA) approaches. The main results showed that the air quality was not affected. For instance, gas emission, like carbon monoxide, was less than 0.1 ppm. However, soil and groundwater were contaminated due to leachate infiltration from the uncontrolled cell in which Chloride, Nitrate, and Sulfate exceeded the maximum limits. As for noise, it was found to be high near the sorting-out station at 71.1 Leq dBA. In terms of the financial aspect, the improved MSW management was relatively feasible despite its high costs over its revenues. Thus, the negative cash-flow could be supplemented by setting household taxes at US$ 29 per capita per year, which makes the project cost-effective. Thus, the research recommends continuing the MSW management project.

The work describes chosen problem connected with using of armoured personnel carriers (APC) in the frame of military operations. The soldiers inside the APC are exposed to dynamic loads and shock which are, among other things, an effect of collision with other vehicle or terrain obstacles. In military vehicles, which design is based on a rigid frame or integral body, there is no technical solution to mitigate the effects of a crash. The only applicable means of protection against the effects of collisions are lap belts and helmet designed to protect the head. Preliminary research shows that this kind of equipment is not sufficient. In the work an assessment of the influence of chosen solutions of safety belts and helmets on dynamic loads of carrier’s crew during collision with a rigid obstacle are presented. In simulation researches the HYBRID III dummies models have been used and calculations were carried out in LS-DYNA system. The work shows the numeric test results. Behaviour of the dummies during the impact on both the driver and crew member were presented. To assess a risk of injury standard indicators of crash test were used, including: maximum value of the head acceleration and the maximum values of the forces and moments in the neck. The distributions of these parameters were presented. The assessment of applied passive safety systems was made from the point of view of treat to soldiers inside a carrier.

The work describes chosen problem connected with using of armoured personnel carriers (APC) in the frame of stabilisation and peacekeeping mission. The new type of tasks appears: ramming obstacles such as fences, entry gates, light engineering obstacles and also pushing other vehicles aside the road in order to obtain trafficability. The main threat in such situation is a risk of serious injury of soldiers inside vehicle. The lack of a crumple zone increases a value of acceleration acting on the crew. In the work models of driver and crew member seats used in the APC were showed. To the tests a Hybrid III 50th male dummy model in a seated position were used, which is a good representation of the average population of men. To the modelling LS-DYNA software was applied. The work shows the numeric test results. Behaviour of the dummies during the impact on both the driver and crew member were presented. To assess a risk of injury standard indicators of crash test were used, including: maximum value of the head acceleration, the criterion HIC and the maximum values of the forces and moments in the neck. The distributions of these parameters were presented. Results of simulation indicated that velocity and location of dummies has large influence on levels of dynamic loads. To further research is proposed to take into consideration models of dummy with additional equipment of soldiers (e.g. a helmet, a weapon, a bullet-proof jacket).

Building investment projects, both during the construction work and afterwards, have a certain impact on the natural environment when a raised structure is used. Depending on the character, size and location of a planned structure, such influences will vary. At the stage of planning a new development, investors are obliged to execute several procedures connected with the preservation of nature, for example they prepare several variants of the planned investment and evaluate which one will have the weakest effect on the environment. Assessment of variants is based on a series of criteria, and the final outcome is not always unambiguous. Hence, when trying to establish the importance of each criterion, it is advisable to apply efficient decision support methods. One option is to use multi-criteria analytical methods. However, for such methods to be applicable, an investor must prepare a wealth of information. The first stage preceding the actual analysis of variants is to define the assessment criteria and assign to them appropriate weights (importance). This stage requires the participation of experts, who – through questionnaires and interviews – express their opinions on the criteria that must be included and on their importance. This article contains a model procedure implemented for the sake of determination of the importance of parameters, which includes the methodology used for assessment and ranking of parameters. The approach presented in this paper demonstrates the usefulness of multi-criteria analytical methods when making an evaluation pertaining to the impact of a building investment on the environment.

The aim of this research is to determine the impact of specific motor knowledge of alpine skiing on success in giant slalom race of students. On a sample of 18 students of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport there has been used set of four variables of specific motor knowledge of alpine skiing, as predictor variables, to determine the impact on the criterion variable modified giant slalom race. It was found that the variables dynamic long radius turns and skiing with the changes of rhythm and tempo together have a greatest predictor validity, at statistically significant level of p = 0.01, and that they are critical for success in modified giant slalom race of students. It can be concluded that the impact on the result in the modified giant slalom race for students have the level of mastering of advanced elements of ski technique, which at this level of knowledge is crucial in giant slalom competition. The results of this study may be of importance in creating programs for different levels of mastering of skiing techniques in both advanced ski school and some stages of competitive skiing, which is of great importance for the result in giant slalom and skiing in general.

Due to their excellent performance, composite materials are increasingly used in the marine field. It is of great importance to study the low-velocity impact performance of composite laminates to ensure the operational safety of composite ship structures. Herein, low-velocity drop-weight impact tests were carried out on 12 types of GRP laminates with different layup forms. The impact-induced mechanical response characteristics of the GRP laminates were obtained. Based on the damage model and stiffness degradation criterion of the composite laminates, a low-velocity impact simulation model was proposed by writing a VUMAT subroutine and using the 3D Hashin failure criterion and the cohesive zone model. The fibre failure, matrix failure and interlaminar failure of the composite structures could be determined by this model. The predicted mechanical behaviours of the composite laminates with different layup forms were verified through comparisons with the impact test results, which revealed that the simulation model can well characterise the low-velocity impact process of the composite laminates. According to the damage morphologies of the impact and back sides, the influence of the different layup forms on the low-velocity impact damage of the GRP laminates was summarised. The layup form had great effects on the damage of the composite laminates. Especially, the outer 2‒3 layers play a major role in the damage of the impact and the back side. For the same impact energy, the damage areas are larger for the back side than for the impact side, and there is a corresponding layup form to minimise the damage area. Through analyses of the time response relationships of impact force, impactor displacement, rebound velocity and absorbed energy, a better layup form of GRP laminates was obtained. Among the 12 plates, the maximum impact force, absorbed energy and damage area of the plate P4 are the smallest, and it has better impact resistance than the others, and can be more in line with the requirements of composite ships. It is beneficial to study the low-velocity impact performance of composite ship structures.

INTRODUCTION: The are many published papers on COVID-19 in the field of anesthesia recently. However, there isn’t any study that indicates what kind of issues countries and journals are focusing on this particular subject. The aim of this paper is to determine the countries and journals that contribute the most to the literature on COVID-19 in the field of anesthesia and also to examine the features that make the difference in the total cited count numbers of related papers. MATERIAL AND METHODS: The search engine of the Web of Science was used for the selection of papers. The search yielded 359 published materials in total. However, 78 (61 Articles, 17 Reviews) of them did not have keywords. Therefore, they were excluded from the analysis. The remaining 196 articles plus 84 reviews, in total 280 papers were examined. In order to examine the differences between published materials in terms of total cited count numbers, independent samples t-tests and one-way Anova test were performed with SPSS. In order to explore the topical differences, the keywords according to country of the first author, and the journal were mapped. KNIME and FactoMiner software were used for the analysis. RESULTS: Results indicated that international papers were cited more compared to domestic papers; multi-centered national papers were cited more compared to single-centered national papers. The largest percentage (34.64%) of the overall publications originated from Anglo-American countries (USA=13.93%; England=12.14%; Canada=6.07%; Australia=2.50%). The keyword mapping showed that COVID-19, SARS-CoV-2, Pandemic, Anesthesia, Airway, Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome, Critical Care, Intensive Care, Personal Protective Equipment, Infection, Mortality, and Mechanical Ventilation were the main keywords of these published materials. CONCLUSIONS:This paper not only showed the features of papers that are cited more but also showed the ranking of countries that contribute the most to the literature and reflected the hot topics about COVID-19 in the field of anesthesia. Extensive studies about COVID-19 have already begun, and the number of studies keep increasing. Therefore, this study could provide hints for authors who would like their papers to be cited more as well as useful information for further research.

Podjęte badania dotyczą możliwości zastosowania metody Visual Impact Size (VIS) do prowadzenia cyfrowych analiz krajobrazu w celu identyfikacji ważnych miejsc widokowych w mieście. Kryterium przyjętym dla oceny wartości takich miejsc jest widoczność wybranych obiektów charakterystycznych. Im więcej takich obiektów widać z danego miejsca, tym większa jest potencjalna wartość widoku. Efektem procesu obliczeniowego jest jednoznaczna pod względem geometrycznym mapa, obrazująca potencjalnie najcenniejsze miejsca ekspozycji. Metoda może mieć zastosowanie w planowaniu przestrzennym do wspomagania procesu wyznaczania widoków strategicznych, podlegających ochronie. Analizy ilustrujące metodę, przeprowadzono na terenie Lublina z użyciem numerycznego modelu pokrycia terenu (DSM). W symulacjach wykorzystano oprogramowanie opracowane przez autorów. Wyniki zostały skonfrontowane z rezultatami Studium wartości widokowych miasta Lublin, wykonanym z udziałem autorów w 2011 roku.
The research aimed at determining the possibility of using the Visual Impact Size method (VIS) for digital analyses of landscape to identify major view points in the city. The assessment of specific locations is based visibility of facilities stand out in the city. The more such facilities can be seen from a given location, the higher the potential value of the view. The calculation process led to developing a geometrically unbiased map showing potentially the most valuable locations of active exposure. The method can be applied in spatial planning to support determining of strategic views that should be protected. Analyses presenting the method have been implemented in Lublin using the Digital Surface Model (DSM). Software developed by the authors was used to perform simulations. Findings have been confronted with results of the ‘Study of visual values of Lublin’ developed with the involvement of the authors in 2011.

In order to characterize the dynamic behaviour of a back-to-back planetary gear, experimental and numerical modal analysis techniques are achieved. Rotational and translational modal deflections are highlighted. Natural frequencies are compared to the results from the lumped-parameter model. The modes are presented in the numerical studies in low-frequency and high-frequency bands. Distributions of modal kinetic and strain energies are studied.

Opis:
Barely visible impact damage is one of the problems commonly occurring in composite elements during an aircraft operation. The authors described the mechanisms of impact damage formation and propagation in composite structures. The paper presents a performed analysis of an influence of impact parameters on the resulting damage, i.e. its detectability by means of visual observation as well as its extent determined based on ultrasonic tests results. The tests were conducted on the CFRP specimens with a wide range of impact damage cases obtained with combinations of variable impact energy and shapes of impactors. Additionally, an algorithm based on image processing and image analysis methods is proposed for the purpose of the effective evaluation of the ultrasonic data obtained.

For the 16 selected nitramines, it is shown that an increase in the energy content of these molecules (represented by enthalpies of formation) is connected with an increase in the lengths of the longest N–N bonds in the molecules. These lengths are directly proportional to the activation energies of the low-temperature thermal decomposition of the pure nitramines in all states of matter for this reaction. Raising the energy content also leads to reductions in the rate constants of thermal decomposition. Both of these facts are in contrast to expectations and also with similar published findings concerning thermal decomposition of nitramines in solution, which can be explained by the solvation effect and termination of the emerging aza-radicals in solutions. The calculated dissociation energies of the weakest N–N bonds yielded a relatively good reciprocal conformity with the lengths of the longest N–N bonds of the nitramines studied, especially when using the UB3LYP/6-31G* method. The relationship between the impact sensitivity of these nitramines and the lengths of their longest N–N bond is not completely clear. Such lengths cannot be a measure of impact reactivity, because the longest N–N bond might be stabilized in some cases by suitable intermolecular interactions with adjacent molecules in the crystal lattice.

Purpose: This paper critically evaluates the development of the impact assessment instrument in Lithuania’s public administration and suggests improvements to its impact assessment system. Research question: What interesting conceptual imperatives have appeared in Lithuania’s investigation of the impact of regulatory policy? Methodology: This research study uses positivist methodology to analyse the problems that researchers have identified in Lithuania’s impact assessment. This investigation explains why certain problems have appeared, what has changed and what system changes can be identified traced. The study proceeds as follows. First, the research on impact assessment carried out in Lithuania is analysed. Second, regulations on impact assessment in Lithuania are investigated. A substitute for non-existent integrated theory is emphased by the logical structure of the EU administrative system imperatives, principles, and norms, whose modifications have become the basis of impact assessment system design in Lithuania. The present research combines, integrates and consolidates the theoretical and practical information on impact assessment into an explanatory scheme, which could be developed into a model in the future. Information from two qualitative interviews conducted in 2009 and 2010 was also used. Conclusions: The present research reveals that Lithuania’s regulatory impact assessment model is still being constructed and reconstructed towards evidence-based management. A model which revises the old impact stereotype has been designed, based on contemporary methodologies (cost--benefit and cost-effectiveness analyses), consultations with the interested parties, a small but exhaustive legal initiatives impact assessment, and a centralised and institutional coordination of impact assessment. Practical consequences: The present research presents the issues which could be useful for the states that are starting to implement a regulatory impact assessment model. This study described the pitfalls to avoid in order to implement a successful evidence-based management initiative. Originality: In the present research, regulatory impact assessment is emphased as an assessment model and normative of the EU administration effectiveness and optimality, which can be used as a good-practice example for the modernisation of administrative activities in Central and Eastern Europe to the level their European counterparts.

The objectives of the analysis conducted and described in this paper has been to present the practical application of service quality improvement’s chosen methods based on case study. The first part of the article contains the theoretical framework of service quality and its improvement. Afterwards, the results of empirical research have been presented. First of all, to analyze the process, the Servqual method has been chosen. To choose the most important areas of improvement the Importance-Performance Analysis’ results have been used. Furthermore, in the Impact and Effort Matrix the selected improvement ideas have been included.
Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie praktycznego zastosowania metod doskonalenia jakości usług w oparciu o case study. Pierwsza część opracowania zawiera teoretyczne ramy jakości usług i jej doskonalenia. Następnie zaprezentowano wyniki badań empirycznych: analizę jakości usługi w oparciu o metodę Servqual, identyfikację kluczowych obszarów doskonalenia z wykorzystaniem metody Importance-Performance oraz analizę możliwości wdrożenia poszczególnych działań doskonalących poprzez ich prezentację na macierzy Impact&Effort.

Opis:
This work is a continuation and extension of previous socio-economic analyses of hard coal mines, which were conducted at the Central Mining Institute in the years 2013-2015. The paper presents the results of the economic evaluation of the hard coal mining sector in the years 2016-2018 using the Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA) methodology. Used for the socio-economic assessment of hard coal mining, the CBA methodology enables the comprehensive evaluation of the functioning of this sector of the economy in Poland. In addition to financial aspects, which are important from the point of view of coal companies, it also included the social and environmental influence resulting from the impact of mines on the environ-ment. Direct data of operating costs and payments (including pub lic-law payments), incurred by the hard coal mining industry in Poland, was used. This data is obtained by Industrial Development Agency JSC, Branch Office Katowice as part of the "Program of statistical surveys of official statistics" – statistical survey "Hard coal and lignite mining industry". They were supplemented with data coming from com-monly available public statistics. For the analysed period the presented results indicate that the financial and social benefits resulting from the hard coal mining activity in Poland outweighed the financial, social and environmental costs generated by this industry. This confirms the desirability of further functioning of the hard coal mining industry in Poland, however, assuming effective restructuring activities that will result in lower costs of coal production.

Veg e ta tion changes in the Lower San Val ley near Jaros³aw are re con structed from the Youn ger Dryas to the pres ent time on the ba sis of palynological anal y sis of the peat core. The pol len pro file came from a an old riverbed and was sup ple mented by ra dio car bon datings. The Youn ger Dryas and early Preboreal veg e ta tion was char ac ter ised by a high pro por tion of for est com mu ni ties with pine (Pinus sylvestris and P. cembra) and birch (Betula), while patches of open area were dom i nated by the steppe with Ar te mi sia. Cli ma tic ame lio ra tion dur ing the Preboreal chronozone led to the rapid spread of elm (Ulmus), which was prob a bly a dom i nant taxon on the low est ter races of the val ley. Terrestrialization of the wa ter body ex ist ing in the palaeomeaner and the sub se quent be gin ning of peat ac cu mu la tion caused a de - te ri o ra tion in pol len pres er va tion. Hence, the in ter pre ta tion of the pro file sec tion span ning the pe riod be tween the Bo - real and Subatlantic chronozones was se ri ously dis turbed due to se lec tive cor ro sion and the overrepresentation of Pinus sylvestris type and Filicales monolete sporomorphs. Be tween ca. 336 and 1152 AD fluc tu a tions in wood land cover were re corded. Im por tant com po nents in those for ests, de spite the dom i na tion of Pinus sylvestris, were Quercus, Carpinus betulus, Fagus sylvatica and Abies alba. The first pol len grains of ce re als (Cerealia type) were found be fore ca. 1605–1414 BC and may be at trib uted to the ag ri cul tural ac tiv ity of the Neo lithic and/or early Bronze tribes. Pe ri - ods of strong de for es ta tion caused by hu mans were prob a bly re lated to the time when the Tarnobrzeska Group of the Lusatian Cul ture and the Przeworska Cul ture were ac tive. The first groups of Slavs did not sig nif i cantly in flu ence the en vi ron ment, but the sub se quent de vel op ment of those groups led to more vis i ble de for es ta tion, which was trig gered af ter the es tab lish ment of Jaros³aw in the 11th cen tury AD.

The general model of critical accident consequences was applied to chemical spill consequences generated by dynamic ship critical infrastructure network operating at the Baltic Sea waters. The approach to the prediction of critical infrastructure accident consequences is proposed. Moreover, the cost analysis of losses associated with the consequences of chemical spill, without and with considering the climate-weather impact, is proposed.

The study was aimed at anthropogenization processes of the Kościan Plain. They are noticeable in local palynological diagrams (eg. at the archaeological site in Bruszczewo) as well as on settlement maps of the Polish Archaeological Record Project. The goal was to determine whether the processes were perceptible also in a regional scale, in deposits of the biggest water body in the examined area, located 15 km to the east from Bruszczewo. Anthropogenic participation in changes of plant cover is clearly visible in the local diagram from Bruszczewo. While compared with the mentioned, anthropogenic influence in deposits of Wonieść Lake is rather inconspicuous. In the Neolithic and Early Bronze Periods, percentage of herbaceous plants (amount of grasses and herbs) maintained the level of 10%. Increase in NAP is marked not earlier than in the Roman Iron Age, and then from the Early Middle Ages until the present time (Dörfler, to be published soon). Comparison of palynological results to sedimentological analyses indicates that periods of increased values of CerealiaandPlantago lanceolataindices are correlated with inflow of mineral material to lacustrine water body. Larger fractions were observed there i.e. fine- and medium-grained sands, and even gravels as well as organic matter. In the geochemical record for the same periods, an increased percentage of trace elements can be visible (however their distinctive escalation is manifested not earlier than in the Middle Ages). These changes are accompanied by intensified eutrophication index (phosphorus percentage) as well as by occurrence of diatoms, which prefer eutrophic conditions.

Two different approaches are applied for the investigation of possible changes within the climate regime – as an important component of vulnerability – on a regional scale for Saxony, Germany. Therefore data were applied from the output of the statistical climate models WETTREG2010 and WEREX-V for a projected period until 2100. In the first step, rain gauge-based precipitation regions with similar statistics have been classified. The results show that stable regions are mainly located in the Ore Mountains, while regions of higher uncertainty in terms of a climate signal exist particularly between the lowlands and mountains. In the second step, station-based data on precipitation, temperature and climatic water balance were interpolated by the regionalisation service RaKliDa. Model runs which lay closest to the observed data for the period 1968 to 2007 were identified. Therefore, regions of similar climates were classified and compared by means of a Taylor diagram. The derived patterns of the observed data are in good agreement with formerly defined climate regions. In the final step, anomalies of 10 yearlong averages from 2021 until 2090 were calculated and then spatially classified. The classification revealed four complex regions of changing climate conditions. The derived patterns show large differences in the spatial distribution of future precipitation and climatic water balance changes. In contrast, temperature anomalies are almost independent of these patterns and nearly equally distributed.

Opis:
Precise recognition of the nonparametric measurement approach in the production process and proper application of accurate techniques to categorise the variables play a key role in the process of improving performance of decision-making units (DMUs). The classical data envelopment analysis (DEA) models require that the status of all inputs and outputs measures be precisely specified in advance. However, there are situations where a performance measure can play input role for some DMUs and output role for the others. This paper introduces an approach to determine the situation of such flexibility where in the presence of resource sharing among subunits, the partial input will impact output in DEA. As a result, DMUs have a fair evaluation when compared to each other. Likewise, the maximum improvement is obtained in aggregate efficiency due to partial input to output impacts. The proposed approach is applied to a set of real data collected from 30 branches of an Iranian bank.

ASTM and ACI methods were used to determine the water absorption and impact resistance of M30 grade concrete containing different percentages of sintered fly ash aggregate (SFA) ranging from 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, and 100%. In the concrete laboratory, the parameters of the concrete mix, including fresh density, slump value, dry density, compressive strength, and impact resistance, were determined. The fresh and dry densities of concrete mix decrease as the quantity of SFA used as substitute increases. The 100% substitution of SFA in concrete results in a slump value of 200 mm, a fresh density of 1946 kg/m3, a dry density of 1911 kg/m3, and water absorption of 3.5%, with a compressive strength of 12.3 MPa. For the drop weight impact resistance test, reliability analysis was conducted to determine the level of reliability of each concrete mix for varying SFA. Using reliability analysis, the failure analysis owing to impact load determined the energy absorption of the concrete mix.

Opis:
Bicycles are gaining more and more popularity, especially in crowded cities where there is a problem with traffic jams and a limited number of parking spaces. The bicycles are also often used by mountain bikers during riding on off-road trails. In both cases, the important parameters are the stiffness of the bicycle frame, the weight of the bicycle, but also driving comfort. To improve comfort and reduce vibrations in the bicycle frame both front and rear shock absorbers are used. The use of traditional shock absorbers increase the weight of the bike and its price. The work characterizes a modern damping system, Softtail type, designed by AG Motors. In this case, the damping element (elastomer) was placed directly in the rear fork. Analyses of polyurethanes of various hardness were carried out in terms of the possibility of using them as a vibration damper. A numerical and experimental analysis of the bicycle frame was performed, adapted to the a new shock-absorber system. Strength, fatigue and impact tests were carried out in accordance with the relevant bicycle standards. Research has shown that the frame bicycle with the Softtail system, meets the requirements of the standards.

We propose a method of constructing multisector-multiregion input-output tables, based on the standard multisector tables and the tools of spatial econometrics. Voivodship-level (NUTS-2) and subregion-level data (NUTS-3) on sectoral value added is used to fit a spatial model, based on a modification of the Durbin model. The structural coefficients are calibrated, based on I-O multipliers, while the spatial weight matrices are estimated as parsimoniously parametrised functions of physical distance and limited supply in certain regions. We incorporate additional restrictions to derive proportions in which every cross-sectoral flow should be interpolated into cross-regional flow matrix. All calculations are based on publicly available data. The method is illustrated with an example of regional economic impact assessment for a generic construction company located in Eastern Poland.

Opis:
Neutron activation analysis (NAA) is an analytical method based on the measurement of characteristic radiation from radionuclides formed by neutron irradiation of the material of interest. The most suitable source of neutrons for NAA is a research reactor. The neutron activation analysis has been found to be extremely useful in the determination of trace and minor elements in geological and extraordinary samples. The method is non-destructive, giving many advantages, which are described. Measured abundances of the elements in meteorites, from major constituents down to those appearing only in trace amounts, provide information important for the theories of the origin and history of the Solar System.

W pracy przedstawione jest porównanie wartości przemieszczeń i kluczowych odkształceń nawierzchni asfaltowej z punktu widzenia wyników analizy dynamicznej i statycznej przy obciążeniach impulsowych. Obciążenie impulsowe na nawierzchnię drogową występuje w nieniszczących badaniach, pozwalających określić własności materiałowe mieszanek asfaltowych np. Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD). W celu określenia stanu przemieszczeń i odkształceń wykorzystano osiowosymetryczny model nawierzchni drogowej zaimplementowany w programie Abaqus.
The paper presents the comparison of the results of displacements and key strains of asphalt pavement for dynamic and static analysis under impulse load. Impulse load on road surface occurs in non-destructive tests to determine the material properties of asphalt mixtures, eg Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD). The axisymmetric pavement model was used to determine the state of displacement and deformation with Abaqus.

The morphology of G20Mn5 specimens made of non-modified and rare earth metals (REM) modified cast steel was investigated. Molten metal was treated with a cerium-rich mischmetal contain 49.8% Ce, 21.8% La, 17.1% Nd, 5.5% Pr and 5.35% other rare earth metals making up the balance. The melting, quenching (920°C/water) and tempering (720°C/air) were performed under industrial conditions. Analysis included G20Mn5 cast steel fracture specimens subjected to Charpy V-notch impact testing at 20°C, -30°C and -40°C. The purpose of the analysis was to determine the influence of REM on the microstructure and mechanical properties of G20Mn5 cast steel and the REM effect on the morphology, impact strength and character of the fracture surfaces. In addition, a description of the mechanism by which fracture occurred in the two materials was proposed. The author demonstrated the beneficial effects of adding REM to molten steel, manifested by a 20 - 40% increase in impact toughness, depending on test temperature, as compared to the non-modified cast steel. Important findings included more than 100% increase in impact strength in comparison with the required impact toughness of 27J at -40C for heat treated steels (EN 10213).

W artykule omówiono badania dotyczące analizy wpływu wieżowca Sky Tower na krajobraz Wrocławia. Zostały one przeprowadzone z zastosowaniem komputerowej metody Visual Impact Size (VIS), opracowanej pod kierunkiem pierwszego autora artykułu. Metoda ta umożliwia geometrycznie jednoznaczne rozpoznanie zakresu i siły oddziaływania wizualnego dominanty. Im obiekt jest wyższy, tym w oczywisty sposób większy jest jego wpływ na krajobraz. W ślad za tym rośnie jego znaczenie jako elementu kształtującego wizerunek miasta. Obszar analiz VIS objął znaczną część Wrocławia (89 km2), co pozwoliło na obserwacje zarówno bliskiego, jak i dalekiego pola ekspozycji. Sky Tower w wewnętrznych widokach (z ulic, placów) jest stosunkowo słabo eksponowany, nie został też odpowiednio silnie osadzony w strukturze miasta. Jak wykazały analizy VIS, obiekt jest najlepiej widoczny w odległych panoramach z zachodu i południa, w których Sky Tower stanowi główny wertykalny motyw przyciągający wzrok. To właśnie w dalekich widokach wieżowiec staje się nowym symbolem Wrocławia, wzmacniającym wizerunek miasta. Analizy VIS zostały wykonane z wykorzystaniem danych ze skaningu lotniczego LiDAR: cyfrowego modelu terenu (DTM/NMT) i cyfrowego modelu pokrycia terenu (DSM/NMPT) oraz z wykorzystaniem specjalistycznego oprogramowania opracowanego przez autorów.
The article discusses investigations referring to the analysis of the Sky Tower impact on the cityscape of Wrocław. They involved using a computer aided Visual Impact Size method (VIS) developed by a team led by the first of the authors of the article. The method provides for a geometrical examination of the scope and power of dominant visual impact. The higher the building, the larger is its impact on the landscape. This is followed by the significance of the building as an element determining the image of a city. The area of VIS analyses included a major part of Wrocław (89 km2), which enabled examining close and distant exposure field. In internal views (from streets and squares), the Sky Tower is relatively little exposed and has not been much embedded in the structure of the city. According to VIS analyses, the facility is better seen from larger distances in western and southern panoramas, where the Sky Tower is the main vertical element attracting the eye of a viewer. The tall building has become a new symbol of Wrocław in those more distant views strengthening the image of the city. The analyses involved LiDAR aerial scanning data: digital terrain model (DTM) and digital surface model (DSM), and the application of a specialist software developed by the authors.

Research presented in the article was designed to assess the possibility of using the Visual Impact Size (VIS) method as a tool supporting decision making on protecting park interiors and their landscapes against accidental visual impact of tall buildings. The study enables assessing the efficiency of the VIS method while examining the impact of tall buildings to establish whether and to what extent those buildings can be seen. The study also aims at using LiDAR data (as DSM models) for reflecting the spatial structure of park interiors for the purpose of the VIS analysis.
Badania przedstawione w artykule zmierzają do oceny możliwości wykorzystania metody Visual Impact Size (VIS), jako narzędzia wspomagającego proces ochrony parkowych wnętrz krajobrazowych przed przypadkowym wpływem wizualnym zabudowy wysokiej. Badanie pozwoli na ocenę efektywności zastosowania metody dla rozpoznania wpływu obiektów na cenne wnętrza parkowe – ustalenie, czy i w jakim zakresie wskazane budynki będą widoczne. Prezentowane badania mają również na celu ocenę możliwości wykorzystania danych LiDAR (w postaci modeli DSM) dla odwzorowania struktury przestrzennej wnętrz parkowych dla potrzeb badań VIS.

Opis:
Based on the inverse approach and the finite element method, the quality of a reconstructed signal is discussed in this work. The responses caused by a distributed impact on a portion of a composite structure can be recovered using dynamic analysis. The structure is thought to be complex and made up of two different-sized plates made of two different materials. The robustness of the inversion method was studied, as well as the sensitivity of the numerical method compared to modal truncation and sampling of the frequency response function (FRF). Once the FRF had been identified, regularized deconvolution as per generalized singular value decomposition was used to reconstruct the impact signal characteristics. It was revealed that only one mode is required to reconstruct the impact signal.

Zabudowa wysoka może powodować szereg trudnych do przewidzenia skutków wizualnych, przyczyniając się do zaburzeń ważnych, historycznych widoków miasta. Celem badań przestawionych w niniejszym artykule jest prezentacja możliwości zastosowania metody Visual Impact Size (VIS) do prognozowania oddziaływania wizualnego wieżowców w historycznym krajobrazie miejskim. Do badań wybrano istniejący obiekt wysoki przy placu Unii Lubelskiej w Warszawie. Obiekt wzbudza liczne kontrowersje. Ingeruje bowiem wizualnie w parkowe wnętrze krajobrazowe Łazienek Królewskich i jest widoczny ponad dachem pałacu Belwederskiego, zaburzając jego integralność jako ważnego zabytku i symbolu miasta. Celem prezentowanego tu badania jest ocena, na ile efekt ten dałoby się przewidzieć przed wzniesieniem wieżowca, wykorzystując metodę VIS i Numeryczny Model Pokrycia Terenu (NMPT). Stan drzewostanu jest wiernie odwzorowany w zastosowanym w analizach modelu 3D (NMPT, siatka 50 cm). Prezentowane badania są ukierunkowana także na ocenę siły oddziaływania obiektu w krajobrazie (poprzez kalkulację zakresu ekspozycji jego bryły). Wyniki badań są istotne w ocenie możliwości implementacji metody VIS do prognozowania skutków wizualnych nowych inwestycji na krajobraz miasta z uwzględnieniem wnętrz parkowych.

Budując obiekty inżynierskie w strefie oddziaływań dynamicznych powinniśmy zabezpieczyć jego konstrukcję jak i ludzi w nim przebywających przed niepożądanymi wpływami drgań. Jednym z problemów w takich sytuacjach jest właściwy dobór obciążenia projektowanego budynku. W opracowaniu zaproponowano sposób doboru wymuszenia przy wykorzystaniu badan terenowych polegających pomiarze wymuszenia na gruncie w miejscu lokalizacji przyszłego obiektu. Ze względu, na falowy charakter propagacji drgań na granicy ośrodków grunt - budynek mamy do czynienia z jej załamaniem się i odbiciem. Problem ten jest złożony, bowiem generowane przez „wymuszenie” drgania mają różnorodne struktury amplitudowo-częstotliwościowe. Tym nie mniej charakter rozkładu amplitudowoczęstotliwościowego niejednokrotnie jest cechą określającą rodzaj wymuszenia (tramwaju, pociągu metra, odstrzału - ilości i rodzaju ładunku,..). W opracowaniu przedstawiono przykład funkcji przejścia jaka należałoby zastosować na zmierzone drgania gruntu w celu określenia przyśpieszenia fundamentów budynku. Funkcja ta opracowana została na podstawie analizy drgań spowodowanych przejazdem tramwajów dla obiektu o określonych charakterystykach dynamicznych. Dlatego projektowany budynek powinien mieć podobne do niego cechy dynamiczne.
Constructing civil structures located within the area of dynamic actions engineers should protect its structure as well as people staying inside from adverse vibration influences. One of the key problems in these situations is the proper selection of load acting on the designed building. Author proposes a selection method of extortion using field testing involving the measurement of vibrations on the ground at the site of the future facility. Due to wave nature of vibration propagation at the border between ground and structure we are dealing with collapse and reflection. The problem is complex because vibrations generated by „excitation” have various amplitudefrequency structure. Nevertheless the nature of the amplitude-frequency spectrum is often a feature defining type of excitation (tram, subway train, blasting explosive materials, etc.). The study shows an example of the transfer function, which should be impose on measured ground vibrations in order to determine the load on the foundations of the building. This function has been developed based on the analysis of vibration caused by passing trams acting on structure with specific dynamic characteristics. Therefore the designed building should be characterized by similar dynamic properties.

W żelbetowych cylindrycznych silosach na zboże o wysokości 25 m i średnicy 6 m, 8 m oraz 10 m przeprowadzono analizę wpływu wielkości mimośrodu otworu wysypowego na rozkład sił wewnętrznych w ścianie. W analizie statycznej konstrukcji silosów zastosowano kombinacje obciążeń od parcia ośrodka sypkiego występujące w komorze silosu przy niecentrycznym opróżnianiu na małych i dużych mimośrodach według PN-EN 1991–4:2008.
In reinforced concrete cylindrical silos for grain of 25 m height and diameter of 6 m, 8 m and 10 m, the impact of the eccentricity of the discharge hole on the distribution of internal forces in the wall, was analyzed. In the static analysis of silo construction, combination of loads from the pressure of the loose center present in the silo chamber with non-centric discharge on small and large eccentrics according to PN-EN 1991-4:2008, was used.

Purpose: This study is dealing with the application of evidence-based policy-making in Croatian public administration and the general role of applied policy analysis in the Croatian system of governance. Methodology: This development is illustrated by the peculiarities of introducing regulatory impact assessment (RIA) tools in Croatian public administrative structures. Findings: The author is pointing out various limitations in the usage of policy analysis tools in formulating, implementing and evaluating public policies in Croatia. The crucial role of RIA for enhancing executive capacity of governance structures is particularly stressed in the study. The final part of the article is devoted to the prospects of further development of RIA as an applied policy analysis tool within the Croatian system of governance.

Eksploatacja składowisk wszelkiego rodzaju odpadów niesie za sobą różnego rodzaju problemy dotyczące m. in. ich unieszkodliwiania oraz wpływu zgromadzonych zanieczyszczeń na środowisko naturalne. Na składowiskach gromadzone mogą być odpady np. poflotacyjne z zakładów wzbogacania rudy. Pomimo stosowania przez firmy/koncerny najnowocześniejszych metod wydobycia i przetwarzania rud miedzi oraz wprowadzenia nowoczesnych systemów organizacji i zarządzania produkcją obszar zlokalizowany najbliżej zbiornika jest narażony na jego działanie. Wiele rodzajów odpadów stanowi cenne źródło surowców wtórnych, które nadają się do wykorzystania przez różne gałęzie przemysłu. Przykładem takich surowców są odpady górnicze (poflotacyjne), zazwyczaj obojętne środowisku, których wytwarzana ilość w procesie eksploatacji kopalin jest znaczna. W artykule porównano różne metody technologiczne składowania odpadów wydobywczych z wykorzystaniem metody AHP i ich wpływ na środowisko.
Exploitation of tailing ponds sites for storing all types of waste materials creates multiple problems concerning waste disposal and the environmental impact of the waste. Tailing ponds waste may comprise e.g. flotation tailings from ore enrichment plants. Despite the fact that companies / corporations use state-of-the-art methods of extraction and processing of copper ore, and introduce modern systems of organization and production management, the area located closest to the reservoir is exposed to its negative effects. Many types of waste material are a valuable source of secondary raw materials which are suitable for use by various industries. Examples of such materials are mining waste (flotation tailings), usually neutral to the environment, whose quantities produced in the process of exploitation of minerals is sizeable. The article compares different technological methods of mining waste disposal using AHP method and their environmental impact.
