Opis:
Hybrid propulsion in underwater vehicles is the new idea of combining conventional propulsion systems such as screw propellers with other kinds of propulsion like oscillating biomimetic fins, glider wings or jet thrusters. Each of these propulsion systems has its own benefits and drawbacks, and the goal is to have them complement each other in certain conditions. This paper covers the topic of a dynamic model of the pitch and heave motion of the HUUV (hybrid unmanned underwater vehicle) using screw propellers and biomimetic lateral fins. Firstly, the simulation model of the vehicle performing depth and pitch change is presented. Secondly, the vehicle’s hydrodynamic coefficients obtained from CFD simulations are discussed. Thirdly, the results of the HUUV experimental studies in a swimming pool are presented. Lastly, simulation results are compared with those of the experiment to verify the correctness of the model. The vehicle’s motion in the swimming pool during the experiments was recorded using a submerged camcorder and then analysed using the Tracker software.

The rapid development of grid integration of solar energy in developing countries like India has created vital concerns such as fluctuations and interruptions affecting grid operations. Improving the consistency and accuracy of solar energy forecasts can increase the reliability of the power grid. Although solar energy is available in abundance around the world, it is viewed as an unpredictable source due to uncertain fluctuations in climate conditions. Global horizontal irradiance (GHI) prediction is critical to efficiently manage and forecast the power output of solar power plants. However, developing an accurate GHI forecasting model is challenging due to the variability of weather conditions over time. This research aims to develop and compare univariate LSTM models capable of predicting GHI in a solar power plant in India over the short term. The present study introduces a deep neural network-based (DNN) hybrid model with a combination of convolutional neural network bi-directional long short-term memory (CNN BiLSTM) to predict the one minute interval GHI of a solar power plant located in the southern region of India. The model’s effectiveness was tested using data for the month of January 2023. In addition, the results of the hybrid model were compared to the long short-term memory (LSTM) and BiLSTM deep-learning (DL) models. It has been observed that the proposed hybrid model framework is more accurate compared to the LSTM and BiLSTM architectures. Finally, a GHI prediction tool was developed to understand the trend of the results.
Szybki rozwój integracji energii słonecznej z siecią elektroenergetyczną w krajach rozwijających się, takich jak Indie, wywołał istotne obawy, m.in. związane z wahaniami i przerwami wpływającymi na działanie sieci. Poprawa spójności i dokładności prognoz dotyczących energii słonecznej może zwiększyć niezawodność sieci energetycznej. Chociaż energia słoneczna jest dostępna w dużych ilościach na całym świecie, jest ona postrzegana jako nieprzewidywalne źródło ze względu na niepewne wahania warunków klimatycznych. Prognozowanie globalnego natężenia napromienienia horyzontalnego (GHI) ma kluczowe znaczenie dla efektywnego zarządzania i prognozowania mocy elektrowni słonecznych. Jednak opracowanie dokładnego modelu prognozowania GHI jest trudne ze względu na zmienność warunków pogodowych w czasie. Badania te mają na celu opracowanie i porównanie modeli LSTM zdolnych do przewidywania GHI w elektrowni słonecznej w Indiach w krótkim czasie. W niniejszym badaniu wprowadzono hybrydowy model oparty na głębokiej sieci neuronowej (DNN) z kombinacją dwukierunkowej konwolucyjnej sieci neuronowej z długą pamięcią krótkotrwałą (CNN BiLSTM) w celu przewidywania jednominutowych interwałów GHI elektrowni słonecznej zlokalizowanej w południowym regionie Indii. Skuteczność modelu została przetestowana przy użyciu danych za styczeń 2023 roku. Ponadto wyniki modelu hybrydowego porównano z modelami uczenia głębokiego (DL) z długą pamięcią krótkotrwałą (LSTM) i BiLSTM. Zaobserwowano, że proponowany model hybrydowy jest dokładniejszy w porównaniu do architektur LSTM i BiLSTM. Ostatecznie opracowano narzędzie do przewidywania GHI, aby zrozumieć trend wyników.

Artificial neural networks are widely employed as data mining methods by researchers across various fields, including rainfall-runoff (R-R) statistical modelling. To enhance the performance of these networks, deep learning (DL) neural networks have been developed to improve modelling accuracy. The present study aims to improve the effectiveness of DL networks in enhancing the performance of artificial neural networks via merging with the gradient boosting (GB) technique for daily runoff data forecasting in the river Amu Darya, Uzbekistan. The obtained results showed that the new hybrid proposed model performed exceptionally well, achieving a 16.67% improvement in determination coefficient (R2) and a 23.18% reduction in root mean square error (RMSE) during the training phase compared to the single DL model. Moreover, during the verification phase, the hybrid model displayed remarkable performance, demonstrating a 66.67% increase in R2 and a 50% reduction in RMSE. Furthermore, the hybrid model outperformed the single GB model by a significant margin. During the training phase, the new model showed an 18.18% increase in R2 and a 25% reduction in RMSE. In the verification phase, it improved by an impressive 75% in R2 and a 33.33% reduction in RMSE compared to the single GB model. These findings highlight the potential of the hybrid DL-GB model in improving daily runoff data forecasting in the challenging hydrological context of the Amu Darya River basin in Uzbekistan.

Opis:
An autonomous underwater vehicle is a vehicle that can move in water, which is also known as an unmanned undersea vehicle. One type is the hybrid underwater glider where the vehicle is designed in such a way that it is able to carry out missions in the water with less power consumption so that it can last a long time in carrying out missions. In this research, a mathematical design is carried out in the form of a nonlinear model with the aim of being able to produce a model in the longitudinal movement of the HUG vehicle which will be tested limited to a simulation using the MATLAB/Simulink program. The parameters used in the model for this longitudinal movement are obtained by the computational fluid dynamics method so that it has been simulated with various movements according to the mission of the vehicle. In the simulation, input is given in the form of variations in the value of the actuator force to be able to carry out movements according to the mission and the simulation is open loop so that the vehicle's response is in the form of position and speed of translation and rotation.

The article presents a mathematical model demonstrating the synergy of HEV energetic machines in accordance with the model predictive control. Then the results of road tests are presented. They were based on the factory control of the above-mentioned system. The results of the operating parameters of the system according to the factory control and the results of the operating parameters according to the model predictive control were compared. On their basis, it could be concluded that the model predictive control contributed to changes in the power and electrochemical charge level of the energy storage system from 50.1% (the beginning) to 56.1% (the end of course) and for MPC from 50.1% (the beginning) to 59.9% (the end of the course). The applied MPC with 13 reference trajectories (LQT) of power machines of the series-parallel HEV allowed for fuel savings on the level of 4%.

Objectives The COVID-19 pandemic contributing to the dissemination of alternative work models such as fully remote or hybrid work models. The present study focused on these 2 types of unplanned changes in the working environment. The conservation of resources theory, the first aim of this study was to examine the predictive role of resource losses and gains since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in job burnout. Moreover, the authors investigated how non-remote, remote, and hybrid employees differ in resource losses and gains and job burnout. Material and Methods A cross-sectional online comparative study was conducted a year after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. The respondents provided sociodemographic data, reported their current work model, and completed validated measures of resource losses and gains and job burnout: the Conservation of Resources Evaluation and the Oldenburg Burnout Inventory. Based on the data collected from 1000 working adults from the Polish population, the authors tested the differences in losses and gains of different categories of resources and job burnout components between the 3 groups of employees representing distinct working models, i.e., non-remote, hybrid, and remote. Results In general, the associations of losses and gains with job burnout subscales have been confirmed, regardless of the level of analysis of losses and gains. The authors’ findings indicated that hybrid workers experienced significantly higher resource losses and gains (both in general and in different domains) in comparison to non-remote and remote workers. In turn, non-remote employees scored significantly higher on disengagement, which is one of the job burnout components. Conclusions Hybrid workers experienced the highest levels of both resource losses and gains during the COVID-19 pandemic, compared to non-remote and remote workers, suggesting that this form of working arrangement involves the greatest changes in different life domains, bringing both positive and negative consequences for the employee.

The aim of the study is to reveal the content of the phenomenon of “memory war” as a factor in the formation of memory policy in Ukraine in the period from 2014. The research methodology is interdisciplinary, combining methods of historical, political, sociological and legal sciences. The main results of the research: the content of the concept of “memory policy” is revealed, the structure of memory policy in modern Ukraine is determined. It is proved that historical memory is a key element of the whole identification system and due to the fact that historical memory is a highly politicized segment of public consciousness, it can quickly become a factor of social tension and civil confrontation, become a source of national disintegration. This is facilitated by the multiplicity (polarity) of historical memory, so the conceptual basis of memory policy should be the desire to achieve the integrity (monolithic) of the nation’s memory, to overcome polarity and controversy in assessments of the historical past. It was stressed that a certain consensus can be reached on a nationwide historical grand narrative in Ukraine if the objective existence of the Ukrainian nation and the existence of Ukraine as an independent and sovereign state are recognized. The practical significance of the achieved results is due to the fact that in the conditions of the hybrid war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine the state policy of memory is called to promote formation of monolithic historical memory, search of optimum balance of historical plots which would, on the one hand, prevent erosion of ethnocultural basis of historical memory, and on the other – would contribute to the awareness of national history as a permanent process of interaction and interdependence of different cultures. The originality of the study lies in the fact that the influence of historical policy on the course of the hybrid war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine is revealed.
Метою дослідження є розкриття змісту феномену «війни пам’яті» як чинника формування політики пам’яті в Україні у період з 2014 року. Методологія дослідження є міждисциплінарною, поєднує методи історичних, політичних, соціологічних та правових наук. Основні результати дослідження: розкрито зміст поняття «політика пам’яті», визначено структуру політики пам’яті в сучасній Україні. Доведено, що історична пам’ять є ключовим елементом усієї системи ідентифікації і завдяки тому, що історична пам’ять є сильно політизованим сегментом суспільної свідомості, вона може швидко стати фактором соціальної напруженості та громадянського протистояння, стати джерелом національного розпад. Цьому сприяє множинність (полярність) історичної пам’яті, тому концептуальною основою політики пам’яті має стати прагнення до досягнення цілісності (монолітності) пам’яті нації, подолання полярності та суперечливості в оцінках історичного минулого. Наголошується, що певного консенсусу щодо загальнонаціонального історичного великого наративу в Україні можна досягти за умови визнання об’єктивного існування української нації та існування України як незалежної та суверенної держави. Практична значимість досягнутих результатів зумовлена тим, що в умовах гібридної війни Російської Федерації проти України державна політика пам’яті покликана сприяти формуванню монолітної історичної пам’яті, пошуку оптимального балансу історичних сюжетів, що, з одного боку, має запобігти розмиванню етнокультурної основи історичної пам’яті, а з іншого – сприятиме усвідомленню національної історії як перманентного процесу взаємодії та взаємозалежності різних культур. Оригінальність дослідження полягає в тому, що виявлено вплив історичної політики на хід гібридної війни Російської Федерації проти України.

Cilj rada je determinirati financijsku stabilnost i poslovnu strukturu ekosustava Alibaba te ukazati na mogućnosti koje platforma stvara poduzetnicima u Republici Hrvatskoj. Metodologija – rad je dizajniran kao deskriptivni opis nastanka i razvoja poduzetničkih i menadžerskih modela ekosustava Alibaba. U analizi poslovne strukture korištena su financijska izvješća korporacije, kao i znanstvena literatura koja se bavi analizom poslovnog modela ekosustava Alibaba. Rezultati istraživanja – ukazuju na transformaciju modela stvaranja prihoda te razvoj novih oblika poslovnih aktivnosti platforme. Korporacija je osnovana kao online maloprodajna platforma, ali se razvojem poslovnih aktivnosti transformirala u hibridni oblik ekonomije platformi. Zaključak – ekosustav Alibaba najveći dio prihoda ostvaruje iz maloprodajne online aktivnosti u Kini. Istovremeno, platforma se transformira prema hibridnom poslovnom modelu te značajno raste udio prihoda od poslovanja u oblaku. Šireći se izvan domicilnog tržište u Kini te razvijajući nove oblike usluga, platforma otvara mogućnosti za razvoj malih i srednjih poduzeća izvan Kine. U tom kontekstu, ekosustav Alibaba može postati poluga razvoja za mala i srednja poduzeća iz Republike Hrvatske kao i za razvoj gospodarske aktivnosti u uslužnim industrijama u Republici Hrvatskoj.
The aim of this paper is to determine the financial stability and business structure of the Alibaba ecosystem and to point out the opportunities that the platform creates for entrepreneurs in the Republic of Croatia. Methodology ‒ the paper is designed as a descriptive research of the emergence and development of entrepreneurial and managerial models of the Alibaba ecosystem. The financial structure of the corporation was used in the analysis of the business structure, as well as the scientific literature that deals with the analysis of the business model of the Alibaba ecosystem. Research results indicate the transformation of the revenue generation model and the development of new forms of business activities of the platform. The corporation was founded as an online retail platform but with the development of business activities it has transformed into a hybrid form of platform economy. Conclusion ‒ Alibaba ecosystem generates most of its revenue from online retail activities in China. At the same time, the platform is transforming towards a hybrid business model and the share of cloud business revenue is growing significantly. As it is expanding beyond the domicile market in China and developing new forms of services, the platform opens opportunities for the development of small and medium enterprises outside of China. In this context, the Alibaba ecosystem can become a lever of development for small and medium enterprises in the Republic of Croatia as well as for the development of economic activities in service industries in the Republic of Croatia.

Barbotage reactors such as airlift reactors (ALR) and bubble column reactors (BCR) due to their two-phase flow are the subject of many studies. Their basic version is used for lifting, mixing, and aeration of liquids, while their hybrid version, supplemented with additional elements, can serve as a rector for transport, lifting, and aeration of liquids. The subject of the research were two design variants of a hybrid barbotage reactor differing in the position of the nozzle for circulation and aeration, both filled with a moving bed. Based on the previously obtained measurement results, a simple mathematical equation was proposed to describe the impact of the type of construction and filling the hybrid reactor with a moving bed on the oxygen concentration and mixing conditions as well as on the transport of liquids. It was found that the greatest impact on the transport of liquid in the hybrid barbotage reactor (HBR) had the location of the H-nozzle, and filling the reactor with a moving bed had the greatest impact on the oxygen conditions and mixing of the liquid in the case of the HBR reactor.

With the rapid development of communication technology, the Train-centric Communication-based Train Control (TcCBTC) system adopting the train-train communication mode to reduce the transmission link of control information, will become the direction of urban rail transit field development. At present, TcCBTC system is in the stage of key technology research and prototype development. Uncertain behavior in the process of system operation may lead to operation accidents. Therefore, before the system is put into use, it must undergo strict testing and security verification to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the system. In the paper, the formal modeling and quantitative analysis of train tracking operation under moving block are carried out. Firstly, the structure of TcCBTC system and the train tracking interval control strategy under moving block conditions are analyzed. The subsystem involved in train tracking and the uncertain factors in system operation are determined. Then, based on the Stochastic Hybrid Automata (SHA), a network of SHA model of train dynamics model, communication components and on-board controller in the process of train tracking is established, which can formally describe the uncertain environment in the process of system operation. UPPAAL-SMC is used to simulate the change curve of train position and speed during tracking, it is verified that the model meets the safety requirements in static environment. Finally, taking Statistical Model Checking (SMC) as the basis of safety analysis, the probability of train collision in uncertain environment is calculated. The results show that after accurately modeling the train tracking operation control mechanism through network of SHA, the SMC method can accurately calculate the probability of train rearend collision, which proves that the method has strong feasibility and effectiveness. Formal modeling and analysis of safety-critical system is very important, which enables designers to grasp the hidden dangers of the system in the design stage and safety evaluation stage of train control system, and further provides theoretical reference for the subsequent TcCBTC system design and development, practical application and related specification improvement.

The aim of the article is to demonstrate that economic, technological and social changes, also thanks to the principle of sustainable development, lead to the transformation of existing and the emergence of new hybrid forms of conducting business activity. On one hand, there is a noticeable expansion of social economy mechanisms that reflect an ‘economic’ approach to providing broadly defined goods and services in the public interest, and there is also resurgence of democratic member-based organizations (DMOs), such as cooperatives with their dual nature and social and economic dimensions. On the other hand, traditional forms of for-profit business are transforming into entities that integrate social and environmental goals into business, known as Sustainability-Driven Hybrid Business Models (SHBMs), and of which benefit corporations (like U.S. Benefit Corporation or Social Purpose Corporation, Italian Societ. Benefit or French Soci.t. . mission) are an example. The transformation and emergence of these qualitatively new organizations is an illustration of the process of creative destruction described by Joseph Schumpeter. The article presents advantages and disadvantages associated with the benefit corporations. The analysis is concluded with the open question of whether legislative intervention is needed in this area, in particular whether it would be expedient to introduce ‘mission companies’ in Poland.

Opis:
The goal of the work described in this paper is to propose a development approach for cyber-physical systems (CPS) which relies on actors as the fundamental modelling blocks. The approach is characterized by its capability to deal with the discrete aspects of the cyber part of a CPS, as well as the continuous behaviour of the physical part. More in particular, the approach is based on the Theatre actor system which fosters determinism in model behaviour, and favours model continuity when switching from system modelling and analysis down to prototype and synthesis phases. A key factor of Theatre is the possibility to combine both discrete-event actors, which operate on a discrete timeline, with continuous-time actors which reproduce, in general by using Ordinary Differential Equations (ODEs), the dynamical evolution of physical components. For formal property assessment, Theatre actors (both discrete and continuous) can be reduced to Timed Automata (TA) in the context of the Uppaal toolbox, where the exhaustive andór the statistical model checkers can be exploited. This paper first describes the proposed approach, then it demonstrates its suitability to CPS modelling and analysis through examples. The paper also discusses how abstract and formal modelling actor concepts can be naturally transitioned to implementation concepts in Java.

Research background: Demand forecasting helps companies to anticipate purchases and plan the delivery or production. In order to face this complex problem, many statistical methods, artificial intelligence-based methods, and hybrid methods are currently being developed. However, all these methods have similar problematic issues, including the complexity, long computing time, and the need for high computing performance of the IT infrastructure. Purpose of the article: This study aims to verify and evaluate the possibility of using Google Trends data for poetry book demand forecasting and compare the results of the application of the statistical methods, neural networks, and a hybrid model versus the alternative possibility of using technical analysis methods to achieve immediate and accessible forecasting. Specifically, it aims to verify the possibility of immediate demand forecasting based on an alternative approach using Pbands technical indicator for poetry books in the European Quartet countries. Methods: The study performs the demand forecasting based on the technical analysis of the Google Trends data search in case of the keyword poetry in the European Quartet countries by several statistical methods, including the commonly used ETS statistical methods, ARIMA method, ARFIMA method, BATS method based on the combination of the Cox-Box transformation model and ARMA, artificial neural networks, the Theta model, a hybrid model, and an alternative approach of forecasting using Pbands indicator.  The study uses MAPE and RMSE approaches to measure the accuracy. Findings & value added: Although most currently available demand prediction models are either slow or complex, the entrepreneurial practice requires fast, simple, and accurate ones. The study results show that the alternative Pbands approach is easily applicable and can predict short-term demand changes. Due to its simplicity, the Pbands method is suitable and convenient to monitor short-term data describing the demand. Demand prediction methods based on technical indicators represent a new approach for demand forecasting. The application of these technical indicators could be a further forecasting models research direction. The future of theoretical research in forecasting should be devoted mainly to simplifying and speeding up. Creating an automated model based on primary data parameters and easily interpretable results is a challenge for further research.

This paper describes modifications of the Mayr and Cassie models of the electric arc. They include the phenomena of increased heat dissipation and non-zero residual conductance when the current passes through zero. The modified models are combined into a new hybrid model connecting them in parallel and activated by a weight function. Two cases of functional dependence of models on current intensity and instantaneous conductance are considered. Mathematical models in differential and integral forms are presented. On their basis, computer macromodels are created and simulations of processes in circuits with arc models are performed. The families of static and dynamic arc voltage and current characteristics are presented.
