The subject of the article is a role of metaphor in Józef Tischner’s philosophy. In late seventies he shaped an idea of „thinking within metaphor”, which was an essential modification of phenomenological method Tischner used before. Metaphorizing is not only an unliterally language expression, but also the metaphysical statement, that the world an human experience cannot be described in strict concepts. Metaphors and symbols have their own logic and hermeneutics, which shows their inner tensions. I proposed a new approach to Tischner philosophy, which allows unveil this „life of metaphor”.

The article discusses the possibility of reading women’s autobiographies with the main focus on the lives non-human animals. Drawing on the theory of autobiography and the field of animal studies I argue that it is feasible to extract valid and accurate accounts of numerous human-animal relationships or find traces of various animal experience whereby animals can be recognized as agents and subjects.

Opis:
Educating multicultural groups is not easy as a teacher has to deal with students from different cultural backgrounds in limited space and time. Still, it is feasible, provided that we are able to create a positive and trusting classroom environment in which all students are made to feel valued, respected and welcome. The one that combats stereotypes and prejudices allows multiple perspectives and ways of thinking and helps students develop a positive self-image. In such a classroom students can develop not only knowledge and skills, but also multicultural awareness, if only they are willing to coexist and cooperate with each other as well as accept and appreciate their varied backgrounds. Some points that I found to be the keys to success in my applied research are: culturally responsive teaching and differentiated instruction taking into account not only cultural diversity but also different learning styles andpreferences. Apart from their flexibility in the area of methodology, a teacher should use a multisensory approach to appeal to different learning styles.

The aim of catechesis is not simply to give information to interlocutors about the Catholic faith. Catechesis seeks to do much more than this, with its ultimate aim being that of putting the human being in communion with Christ. This is achieved through the six tasks of catechesis which need to be deeply embedded in human experiences. The six tasks through which catechesis seeks to achieve its endeavours include: knowledge of the faith, liturgical education, moral formation, formation in prayer and methods of prayer, education for community life and missionary initiation.

Il contributo intende porre in rilievo, in modo essenziale e sintetico, i principali momenti dell’esistenza di don Luigi Giussani che si sono rivelati particolarmente decisivi per la genesi, il prendere forma e la maturazione della sua concezione dell’educazione. Questi momenti si sono verificati nella vita della sua famiglia, nell’arco di tempo della sua formazione nel Seminario di Venegono, nel periodo dell’insegnamento della religione al Liceo Berchet di Milano e negli anni della maturità e della vecchiaia. Riflettendo sull’esperienza vissuta ogni volta in tali circostanze, Giussani ha progressivamente delineato una concezione dell’educazione che ha per proprie fondamenta la realtà, l’esperienza, la ragione, la bellezza, la libertà, e che si presenta oggi come valida non più solo per gli adolescenti e per i giovani, ma anche per ogni persona in tutte le età della vita.
Artykuł ma na celu uwydatnienie, w sposób spójny i zwięzły, najważniejszych momentów w życiu ks. Giussaniego, które okazały się szczególnie decydujące dla powstania, kształtowania się i dojrzewania jego koncepcji wychowania. Momenty te miały miejsce w jego rodzinie, w okresie jego formacji w Seminarium w Venegono, w czasie, gdy uczył religii w Liceum Berchet w Mediolanie oraz w latach dojrzałości i starości. Zastanawiając się nad doświadczeniami przeżywanymi za każdym razem w tych okolicznościach, Giussani stopniowo tworzył koncepcję wychowania, która za swoje fundamenty ma rzeczywistość, doświadczenie, rację, piękno, wolność, i która dzisiaj okazuje się cenna nie tylko dla nastolatków i ludzi młodych, ale również dla każdego człowieka w każdym wieku.
The contribution intends to highlight, in an essential and synthetic way, the main moments of Fr. Luigi Giussani’s life that have proved to be particularly decisive for the genesis, taking shape and maturation of his conception of education. These moments occurred in the life of his family, in the span of his formation in the Seminary of Venegono, in the period of teaching religion at the Berchet High School in Milan and in the years of maturity and old age. Reflecting on the experience lived each time in such circumstances, Giussani has progressively outlined a conception of education that has as its foundations reality, experience, reason, beauty, freedom, and which presents itself today as valid no longer only for adolescents and young people, but also for every person in all ages of life.

Should we approach the lived experience and/or understand the other with the sense of things? If this is the case, how are we to treat the human experience par excellence? Paradoxically, Edith Stein gives a fresh meaning to the Husserlian term “leiblicheSelbstgegebenheit.” In contrast to Max Scheler’s account, she develops the “persönliche Note” criterion of authenticity. And against Maetin Heidegger’s existential philosophy, a concern for human existence itself resonates. Based on these three dimensions, this article discusses the idea of “the lived experience” according to Edith Stein, that is, the human experience contemplated by the humanities.

The paper presents an analysis of human existence which, according to Master Eckhart, plays between unity (Deity) and multiplicity (world). The paper consists of three parts: 1) the presentation of the idea of the Absolute: the Absolute as passive Deity and active God; man cannot get to know the Absolute but only experience it in the creation; the Absolute is present in the things of the world and in the soul of man; Deity has two main features: depth and unity; 2) the presentation of the idea of man: man as the image of God is an ontic unity; he has two powers: mind and will; there is a reflex of the divine depth in the human mind; a man can contemplate the divine image of the Son in his mind after his purification; a man is not only an ontic unity, but he should become a unity in the existential sense; 3) the presentation of the process of the unification: it takes place in will and mind; a man should subordinate his will to the will of God and purify his mind from all ideas in order for the divine Word to be born.

Human capital is a category that has been the subject of economists’ considerations for years. Numerous concepts, research approaches and various ways of classifying capital have appeared. Since the 1990s, in accordance with the fundamental principle of dualism, according to which capital is an abstract category, an alternative scientific research program has been conducted in the field of measuring human capital and fair wages. This program was initiated by M. Dobija and has been followed by a team of researchers from the Cracow University of Economics. The program in question is based on a proper understanding of the capital category. It has been consistently developing, and the scientific research covers a wide range of theories related to human capital and fair remuneration. The purpose of this study is to present the impact of capital from experience on the level of the fair remuneration of employees. The human capital model, in the presented considerations enables the measurement of employee qualifications in monetary units and a fair pay model. A case study on the impact from experience capital on the level of fair remuneration of employees was also presented.
Kapitał ludzki to kategoria, która od lat stanowi temat rozważań ekonomistów. Powstały liczne koncepcje, podejścia badawcze oraz różne sposoby klasyfikacji kapitału. Od lat 90. ubiegłego stulecia, w zgodzie z fundamentalną zasadą dualizmu według której kapitał stanowi kategorię abstrakcyjną, prowadzony jest alternatywny naukowy program badawczy w zakresie pomiaru kapitału ludzkiego i godziwych płac. Program ten zapoczątkował M. Dobija, a kontynuuje go zespół badaczy z UEK w Krakowie. Wspomniany program opiera się na właściwym rozumieniu kategorii kapitału. Prowadzone badania naukowe obejmują wiele teorii związanych z kapitałem ludzkim i godziwym wynagrodzeniem. Celem niniejszego opracowania jest przedstawienie wpływu kapitału z doświadczenia na wysokość godziwych wynagrodzeń pracowników. W tekście zaprezentowano model kapitału ludzkiego umożli-wiający pomiar kwalifikacji pracownika w jednostkach pieniężnych oraz model płacy godziwej. Przedstawiono również studium przypadku dotyczące wpływu kapitału z doświad-czenia na wysokość godziwych wynagrodzeń pracowników.

The paper aims to identify potential threats and opportunities in reference with combining full-time studies with gainful employment from the perspective of future transition of the graduates to the labor market. A hypothesis whether the job of the full-time students provides professional experience, required by employers, was verified. Moreover, it discusses if their professional activity may constitute a solid tie between education and the work after graduation, when continued at the same workplace. The conclusions were drawn, based on the results of the survey conducted over a population of students in the master’s degree course in economics at the University of Economics in Katowice in years 20142016. According to the survey, students rarely undertake job in compliance with their area of study, however, the majority gains valuable skills and competences. Additionally, it proves there exist certain obstacles while combining studies with job which poses a real threat to educational capital. The research also unveiled that less than one third of the students consider present job as a running start to future employment, mainly due to their lack of interest in such a solution.

This article seeks to give a Christian understanding to the reality of COVID-19 which the world has gone through in the past months. This is done in a catechetical way by elaborating upon what truly transforms a lived event into an experience and into a Christian religious experience through a catechetical process. This implies seeking to understand any lived event by reflecting upon it and then applying the results of one’s reflection to one’s life. This theoretical framework is then applied to the reality of COVID-19 with the aim of rendering the lived event of the pandemic into a Christian religious experience which leaves a positive effect on the lives of believers through a catechetical process of understanding it in the light of the Word of God, and then applying the outcomes to one’s life afterwards.

Work is one of the paradoxes of human life. It is difficult to define its essence, the correct source, tasks, and roles in human life. According to Étienne Gilson, an endless reproduction of the technical aspects of a work of art can modify not only the aesthetic experience of which it is an object, but also the culture it is embedded in. Since industrialization of a cultural product in the form of the internet is a means of generating mass culture, questions could be raised regarding its sources and effects. this article offers three assumptions: 1) the internet, together with its content and actions taken by internet users, is a source of fear of experiencing cybercrime; 2) experiencing cybercrime is a result of using the internet; 3) in mass culture, the aesthetic experience has been replaced by the experience of fear. in order to address the titular question, i performed comparative analyses of eU citizens’ opinions on the basis of the eurobarometer study conducted in eU countries (2013–2020) relating to the social perception of cybercrime, treated as a source of experiencing fear, and the level of their personal experience. A secondary quantitative and qualitative analysis of the collected data were performed, and a comparative method was used.

Aim/purpose – The study delves into the creation and the experience of interactive children’s narratives based on poetry, examining the emerging role of artificial intelligence (AI) as a collaborative partner in storytelling for children. The research questions are: 1) What are the experiences of readers, specifically children’s guardians, with interactive narratives based on children’s poetry?; 2) How do children’s guardians experience interactive stories co-generated in real-time through conversations with artificial intelli-gence?; 3) Is it feasible to create a satisfying narrative for children from a specific set of images through the use of AI technology? Design/methodology/approach –This paper synthesizes findings from the following studies: a) Qualitative analysis of interactive narratives based on Stanisław Jachowicz’s poems, involving a comprehensive online questionnaire survey, with 80 respondents participating in the latest study; b) An evaluative study focused on real-time interactions with AI-generated interactive narratives based on Stanisław Jachowicz’s poems. This involved 12 participants who provided detailed feedback on their experience; c) An autoethnographic study exploring the creative process of generating children’s narratives from a set of images using AI. Findings – The findings from the exploratory studies suggested that interactive narratives based on poetry would be beneficial for education and the promotion of reading. The interactive narrative can be simply designed (simple mechanics, simple options) and nevertheless, it can evoke a positive user experience. The constructs of telepresence and player agency apply not only to the interactive narrative and the poem that serves as its foundation. The evaluation of the interactive narrative generated by ChatGPT was positive, both as real-time interactive storytelling experienced by the reader with AI and as the interactive narrative created based on a set of images. In the process of generating interactive narratives during real-time interactions, ensuring safety, reliability, and trustworthiness for children is a crucial aspect. Research implications/limitations – The research suggests that educational organizations can benefit from introducing interactive narratives based on poetry into children’s curricula. Furthermore, artificial intelligence can be effectively utilized in creating such content, both in the form of traditional interactive narratives presented to children and in real-time interactions with AI. However, it is also important for organizations to develop tools for monitoring children’s safety. Originality/value/contribution – This paper sheds light on the reader’s experience with interactive narratives based on poetry and highlights the transformative impact of AI on reading and writing in children’s literature, emphasizing how significantly the roles of writers and readers have changed with the introduction of AI. The swift evolution of artificial intelligence raises concerns that vital literary participants – including authors, researchers, publishers, and readers – may not grasp the essential skills and knowledge for utilizing AI. This paper can be helpful for these groups as it provides clues on how to produce good prompts, leading to the creation of children’s narratives.

Opis:
Mieczysław Gogacz, the founder of consequent Thomism, is also known for his original concept of mystical experience. In his opinion, mystical experience is a passive experience of the existence of God by the mean of potential intellect of a man. In this account, mystical experience is a relationship that connects two beings: God and man. This means that the nature of mystical experience will depend precisely on the people who are engaged in it. It further follows that our understanding of the mystical experience will depend on the anthropology and theodicy. In order to understand Gogacz’s concept of mystical experience, the following issues in his anthropology seem to be of key importance: a. the concept of man as a person; b. the problem of manifestations of existence that constitute the basis for establishing personal relationships; c. the subject of personal relations as connections between real rational beings; d. the problem of indistinct cognition as a passive experience by the potential intellect of the principles of the cognized being (the word of the heart). The groups of issues mentioned above are also one of the most significant elements of consequent Thomism.

The article concerns the users’ experiences of interacting with well-being chatbots. The text shows how chatbots can act as virtual companions and, to some extent, therapists for people in their daily reality. It also reflects on why individuals choose such a form of support for their well-being, concerning, among others, the stigmatization aspect of mental health problems. The article discusses and compares various dimensions of users’ interactions with three popular chatbots: Wysa, Woebot, and Replika. The text both refers to the results of research on the well-being chatbots and, analytically, engages in a dialogue with the results discussed in the form of sociological (and philosophical) reflection. The issues taken up in the paper include an in-depth reflection on the aspects of the relationship between humans and chatbots that allow users to establish an emotional bond with their virtual companions. In addition, the consideration addresses the issue of a user’s sense of alienation when interacting with a virtual companion, as well as the problem of anxieties and dilemmas people may experience therein. In the context of alienation, the article also attempts to conceptualize that theme concerning available conceptual resources.

W opracowaniu poruszono problem wynagradzania absolwentów szkół ponadgimnazjalnych. Weryfikowano hipotezę, że wysokość wynagrodzenia absolwentów szkół ponadgimnazjalnych powinna być zróżnicowana w zależności od rodzaju ukończonej szkoły. W celu weryfikacji hipotezy podjęto próbę oszacowania wysokości wynagrodzeń absolwentów trzech typów szkół: liceum ogólnokształcącego, technikum oraz zasadniczej szkoły zawodowej. Do estymacji normatywnej wysokości wynagrodzeń absolwentów zastosowano model kapitału ludzkiego M. Dobii. Szczególną uwagę poświęcono w artykule znaczeniu doświadczenia zawodowego. Pierwszym etapem obliczeń było ustalenie wartości czynnika doświadczenia, kapitału doświadczenia oraz kapitału ludzkiego osób, które ukończyły różne rodzaje szkół. W obliczeniach uwzględniono doświadczenie zawodowe zdobywane przez uczniów podczas obowiązkowych praktyk zawodowych oraz długość okresu nauki. Zwrócono również uwagę na różne koszty edukacji w poszczególnych rodzajach szkół. Tak obliczona wartość kapitału ludzkiego była podstawą ustalenia godziwego wynagrodzenia. Otrzymane wyniki potwierdziły, że uzasadnione jest różnicowanie wynagrodzeń absolwentów różnych typów szkół ponadgimnazjalnych. Bezpośrednio po zakończeniu szkoły uzasadnione jest uzyskiwanie najwyższego wynagrodzenia przez absolwentów zasadniczych szkół zawodowych. Wraz z pozyskiwaniem doświadczenia zawodowego proporcje te przechylają się na rzecz absolwentów techników. Z kolei wynagrodzenie absolwentów liceów w każdym z badanych lat jest najniższe. W pracy poddano także analizie rozpiętość płac dla badanych grup absolwentów. Prowadzone badania mogą znaleźć zastosowanie w procesie kształtowania polityki edukacyjnej państwa, ustalaniu płacy minimalnej i konstruowaniu systemów wynagrodzeń w przedsiębiorstwach.
The paper discussed the problem of remuneration for graduates of schools above the junior high school level. It verified a hypothesis that the salaries of graduates should be differentiated depending on the type of the school. For the purpose of the verification of the hypothesis an attempt was made to estimate the salaries of graduates of three types of schools: the high school, the technical school and the basic vocational school. For the appraisal value of the normative level of salaries of graduates the model of the human capital of M. Dobii was applied. A special attention in the article was devoted to the importance of the professional experience. The first stage of calculations was the establishment of the value of the factor of experience, the experience capital and the human capital of graduates who completed the different kinds of schools. The salary was determined depending on the length of work experience. The calculations took into account the professional experience gained by pupils during the obligatory occupational training and the length of studies. Attention was paid to different costs of the education in the individual schools. The calculated value of human capital was the base for determining of the fair salary. The results confirmed that the differentiation of salaries of graduates of different types of schools above junior high school was justified. Immediately after the graduation, the highest salary is justified for the graduates of the basic vocational schools. With gaining of the professional experience the proportions lean towards the graduates of technical schools. Whereas the salary of high school graduates in every investigated year is the lowest. The analysis also examined the salary spread for the groups of graduates. The presented research could find a use in the process of the formulation of the state educational policies, the determination of a minimum wage and the construction of salary systems in the enterprises.

The rapid development of robotics involves human‐robot interaction (HRI). It is a necessary to assess user satis‐ faction to develop HRI effectively. Thus, HRI calls for in‐ terdisciplinary research, including psychological instru‐ ments such as survey questionnaire design. Here, we pre‐ sent a factor analysis of a Polish version of the Godspeed Questionnaire (GSQ) used to measure user satisfaction. The questionnaire was administered to 195 participants. Then, factor analysis of the GSQ was performed. Finally, reliability analysis of the Polish version of the GSQ was done. The adapted version of the survey was characte‐ rized by a four‐factor structure, i.e., anthropomorphism, perceived intelligence, likeability, and perceived safety, with good psychometric properties.

Coraz większa dostępność cenowa sprawia, że obecność robotów w domach, pełniących różnorodne funkcje od sprzątania poprzez rozrywkę staje się czymś coraz bardziej powszechnym. Roboty to najbardziej zaawansowane technologicznie maszyny stworzone przez człowieka i przez niego używane. Projektowanie i konstruowanie robotów, pełniących nowe role współpracowników, towarzyszy i opiekunów, a przede wszystkim wprowadzanie ich do użytku na skalę masową, stawia nowe wyzwania przed wieloma dziedzinami nauki stanowiącymi podstawę nowej dyscypliny jaką jest interakcja człowiek-robot (HRI, Human-Robot Interaction). Celem tego artykuły jest przybliżenie psychologicznych zagadnień związanych z interakcją człowiek-robot w obszarze robotyki medycznej.
In recent years we observe the rapid development in the field of robotics and robots expansion beyond manufacturing, military, and medical domain. Becoming increasingly affordable makes robots’ presence in households, where they are performing a variety of functions from cleaning through entertainment, something more and more common. Robots are the most technologically advanced machines created by humans and destined to serve them. To design and construct a robot performing new roles of workplace peers, companions caretakers, and guardians and to turn them into a mass product presents challenges for Human- Robot Interaction (HRI). The purpose of this paper is to outline psychological issues related to HRI in the specific field of medical robotics.

Doświadczenie zawodowe jest jednym z czynników warunkujących pomyślne wejście absolwentów na rynek pracy. Młodzi ludzie często próbują pogodzić naukę na uczelni w trybie stacjonarnym z pracą zarobkową. Badania ankietowe przeprowadzone wśród studentów Uniwersytetu Ekonomicznego w Katowicach pomogły w ustaleniu skali tego zjawiska oraz określeniu czynników, które złożyły się na decyzję o podjęciu pracy. Pozwoliły też na ocenę zgodności wykonywanej pracy z kierunkiem studiów, szans na zdobycie nowych umiejętności i kompetencji cenionych na rynku pracy oraz nawiązanie kontaktów z pracodawcami, dających dobre perspektywy. W badaniu przeprowadzono też próbę identyfikacji problemów pojawiających się w trakcie łączenia pracy zarobkowej ze studiami w trybie stacjonarnym.
Work experience is one of the factors which condition auspicious entry of the graduates into labour market. Young people try to accommodate full-time studies at universities with their jobs. A survey study conducted over a section of the students studying at the University of Economics in Katowice made it possible to identify the extent of this phenomenon and to recognize the factors which affect the decision about starting a job. Moreover, it allowed to assess the coherence between field of study and chosen job and the chances to learn new skills, to gain expertise appreciated in the labour market and to make long-term acquaintance with employers. The research included also an attempt to identify the problems which arise when full-time studies are combined with paid employment.

International experience, defined here as living abroad for two or more months, should enhance individual success on the labour market, ceteris paribus, thanks to the human capital and economic resources that accrue. I use the Polish Panel Survey POLPAN 1988–2008 to examine the impact of having spent at least two months in a foreign country on (a) relative income gains, and (b) the odds of moving into the social class that gained most from the post-communist transformation, employers. In part of the analysis I treat the data as cross-sectional and use OLS regression with lag variables and correction for intra-group correlation. Due to methodological specificity of repeated measurement, I also use panel regression analysis. For both manifestations of individual success, results strongly support the hypothesis of the positive impact of international experience. They also show that international experience is especially valuable for Poles who acquired basic business skills during state socialism.

Introduction. Despite the growing interest in the consequences of caring for patients with Huntington disease (pHD), little is known about the family caregivers of such patients in Poland. Identification of their needs can improve caregivers’ wellbeing, the quality of care and condition of pHD. The aim of this study was to understand the social functioning of family caregivers of pHD and their perception of the caregiving role. Materials and methods. Data was collected from 55 family caregivers of pHD. A structured questionnaire was used consisting of 86 questions subsumed into five domains: ‘Problems’ and ‘Feelings related to caregiving’, ‘Attitude toward caregiving’, ‘Satisfaction with life’ and ‘Perception of healthcare services’. Correlations between the different scales and other characteristics were measured as potential predictors of the burden. Non-parametric statistical methods were used in the analysis. Results. Most respondents experienced a high (50.9%) or moderate (30.95%) feeling of burden. Although 70.9% of caregivers perceived caregiving positively, for many it was a source of negative feelings. Only 10.9% of respondents declared that caregiving decreased their QoL. Carers’ perception of caregiving was mostly influenced by their negative experiences with the healthcare system. Respondents’ domicile, religious practices, age, income, marital status, time of diagnosis and of caregiving, patient’s age and stage of disease also influenced their experiences. Conclusions. Health professionals and policy planners should focus on monitoring caregivers’ health, identifying their needs, sources of distress, and supporting caregivers’ coping strategies. They should also be better educated about the clinical and practical aspects of HD.

By setting the centrifugal self-knowledge as the basis for this communication, we are able to not only get back to the essence of things – to understand a man, but also change the quality of education and human interaction with the world.
