Opis:
The aim of this work is to study the mixed convection boundary layer flow from a horizontal surface embedded in a porous medium with exponential decaying internal heat generation (IHG). Boundary layer equations are reduced to two ordinary differential equations for the dimensionless stream function and temperature with two parameters: ε, the mixed convection parameter, and λ, the exponent of x. This problem is numerically solved with a system of parameters using built-in codes in Maple. The influences of these parameters on velocity and temperature profiles, and the Nusselt number, are thoroughly compared and discussed.

Artykuł obejmuje zagadnienia związane z badaniem rozkładów odkształceń poziomych w rozetach pomiarowych. Przedstawiono wyniki obserwacji względnych wydłużeń odcinków pomiarowych dla dwóch rozet znajdujących się w strefach odkształceń ściskających oraz rozciągających w zasięgu wpływu eksploatacji górniczej. Obydwie rozety zostały wyodrębnione z punktów regularnej sieci obserwacyjnej założonej nad projektowanym polem górniczym w rejonie Jaworzna. Ze względu na konfigurację sieci pomiarowej omawiane rozety są rozetami gwiaździstymi o ośmiu kierunkach wyznaczania wartości odkształcenia liniowego. Wartości odkształceń zostały wyznaczone z bezpośrednich pomiarów odległościowych. Testowano przy tym różne długości baz celem stwierdzenia ich wpływu na uzyskiwane rozkłady odkształceń. Analizowane rozkłady odkształceń poziomych w rozpatrywanych rozetach zostały odniesione do reguł występujących w modelu teoretycznym. Głównym celem pracy było przedstawienie rzeczywistych rozkładów kierunkowych odkształceń poziomych dla stref maksymalnych ich wartości. Wskazano przy tym trudności w precyzyjnym opisie aktualnego stanu deformacji powierzchni terenu oraz obiektów powierzchniowych oraz wyciągnięto wnioski dotyczące badania deformacji na terenach górniczych.
This paper presents the issues connected with the analysis of distributions of horizontal deformations in measurement rosettes. It presents the results of observations of relative extensions of measurement sections for two rosettes located in the areas of compressing and extending deformations within the reach of the mining exploitation impact. Both rosettes were separated from the points of the regular observation grid covering the projected mining field in the neighbourhood of Jaworzno. Due to the measurement grid configuration the investigated rosettes are star rosettes of 8 directions of linear deformation values determination. The deformation values were determined by use of direct distance measurements. Various base distances were tested in order to determine their effect on the obtained deformation distributions. The analysed horizontal distribution in the investigated rosettes was related to the theoretical model principles. The major purpose of the paper was to present the real distributions of horizontal deformations for the areas with their maximum values. This caused in problems with the precise description of the current state of surface deformations and surface objects, which in turn allowed the researchers to draw conclusions from the study of the mining area deformations.

The article presents an analysis of the horizontal land surface displacements taking place as an effect of coal exploitation on the Girondelle 5 seam in the Friedrich Heinrich-Rheinland mine in Germany. The paper presents changes in displacement vectors measured on the surface following the progress of the exploitation face and an analysis of horizontal displacement measurements assuming that their magnitude is proportional to the profile of subsidence trough slope. Then, the values of horizontal displacement coefficient B are assessed for selected longitudinal and transversal calculation cross-sections of longwall No. 537.
AArtykuł przedstawia analizę przebiegu przemieszczeń poziomych powierzchni terenu powstałych w wyniku eksploatacji górniczej kopalni Niemieckiej Friedrich Heinrich-Rheinland w pokładzie Girondelle 5. Autor przedstawił zarówno zmiany wektorów przemieszczeń powierzchni terenu wraz z postępem frontu eksploatacji, jak również analizę pomiarów przemieszczeń poziomych zakładając, że ich wielkość jest proporcjonalna do nachylenia profilu niecki osiadania. Następnie dla określonych przekrojów obliczeniowych wzdłuż oraz w poprzek analizowanej ściany 537 oszacowano wartości współczynnika przemieszczeń poziomych B.

The paper presents a wide-ranged analysis of horizontal displacements in the region of underground mining exploitation. Initially, various theories pertaining to the determination of mining-induced horizontal displacement are discussed, followed by a complex study on horizontal displacements measured for a selected example region of the German coal mine BW Prosper Haniel, as well as the determination of displacement factor B.
Artykuł przedstawia szeroką analizę zjawiska przemieszczeń poziomych powierzchni terenu w wyniku podziemnej eksploatacji górniczej. W pierwszym rozdziale autor przedstawił stan wiedzy na temat obliczania wartości przemieszczeń poziomych wywołanych podziemną eksploatacją górniczą. Następnie w dalszej części pracy przedstawił kompleksową analizę pomiarów przemieszczeń poziomych dla wybranego rejonu niemieckiej kopalni BW Prosper Haniel wraz z określeniem wartości współczynnika przemieszczeń poziomych B.

This paper presents theory of new shear horizontal (SH) acoustic surface waves that propagate along the interface of two semi-infinite elastic half-spaces, one of which is a conventional elastic medium and a second one an elastic metamaterial with a negative and frequency dependent shear elastic compliance. This new surface waves have only one transverse component of mechanical displacement, which has a maximum at the interface and decays exponentially with distance from the interface. Similar features are also shown by the acoustic shear horizontal Maerfeld-Tournois surface waves propagating at the interface of two semi-infinite elastic media due to the piezoelectric effect that should occur in at least one semi-space. The proposed new shear horizontal acoustic surface waves exhibit also strong formal similarities with the electromagnetic surface waves of the surface plasmon polariton (SPP) type, propagating along a metal-dielectric planar interface. In fact, the new shear horizontal elastic surface waves possess a large number of properties that are inherent for the SPP electromagnetic surface waves, such as strong subwavelength concentration of the wave field in the proximity of the guiding interface, low phase and group velocity etc. As a result, the new shear horizontal acoustic surface waves can find applications in sensors with extremely high sensitivity, employed in measurements of various physical parameters, such as viscosity of liquids, as well as in biosensors, chemosensors, or a near field acoustic microscopy (subwavelength imaging) and miniaturized devices of microwave acoustics.

W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań dotyczących poziomych przemieszczeń szeregu gęsto rozmieszczonych punktów w rejonie podziemnej eksploatacji górniczej pokładu węgla kamiennego. Geometrię układu pomiarowego stanowił prostoliniowy odcinek 49 punktów zastabilizowanych w interwale co jeden metr. Analizą objęto całkowite wektory poziomego przemieszczenia punktów dla wybranych stanów frontu eksploatacyjnego w stosunku do miejsca położenia sieci obserwacyjnej. Przeprowadzone badania umożliwiły śledzenie rozwoju procesu przemieszczania się powierzchni terenu w ujęciu lokalnym w warunkach przechodzącego frontu eksploatacyjnego, dając możliwość wykrycia nieregularnych wartości wskaźnika w rejonie zaburzeń budowy geologicznej górotworu.
The paper presents the results of research on horizontal displacements of a number of densely distributed points in the area of underground mining exploitation of a coal seam. The geometry of the measurement system was a straight line segment of 49 points, stabilized at intervals of one meter. The analysis concerned the total vectors of horizontal displacement of points for the selected states of face advances in relation to the location of the observation line. The conducted research enabled tracking the development of the process of surface movement locally, under conditions of the advancing longwall panel excavation, giving the possibility of detecting irregular values of the indicator in the area of disturbances in the geological structure of the rock mass.

The aim of this study was to identify and quantify lignin transported from the River Vistula to the accumulation area in the Gdańsk Basin. Sediment samples collected along the Vistula mouth –Gdańsk Deep transect were analysed for lignin. Lignin was characterised by oxidative degradation, cupric oxide being chosen as the most suitable oxidising agent. The polar functional groups of the oxidation products were silylated and the derivatives analysed by capillary gas chromatography on fused capillary silica columns with flame ionisation detection. Lignin-derived oxidation products were quantified in the range from 3 to 20 μg g−1 dry wt. for phenolic acids and from 6 to 12 μg g−1 dry wt. for phenolic aldehydes. Differences in oxidation products contents are assigned to different lignin sources in the marine environment. The horizontal and vertical gradients of these compounds in the sediments of the Gdańsk Basin are documented. The results are discussed in terms of the origin and fate of organic matter in the Gdańsk Basin. The measured differences in quality and quantity of the identified oxidation products provide insight into diagenetic processes in the surface marine sediments.

Przedstawiono próbę odpowiedzi na pytanie czy zmiany przemieszczeń powierzchni podczas rozwoju eksploatacji na dużych głębokościach i w warunkach zalegania w nadkładzie warstw skalnych o średnich i wyższych parametrach wytrzymałościowych są podobne do przebiegu przedstawionego przez Awierszyna dla eksploatacji płytkich, gdzie nadkład stanowiły skały o średnich lub niskich parametrach wytrzymałościowych. W celu odpowiedzi na pytanie dokonano analizy pomierzonych przemieszczeń powierzchni terenu dla punktów rozproszonych nad prowadzoną eksploatacją dwóch wybranych kopalń głębokich uwzględniając postęp.
This paper presents the analysis of trajectory of horizontal and vertical displacements of geodetic positions along with the wall face advance. It was attempted to decide whether the changes in land surface displacements during the advance of exploitation at deep levels and in conditions of deposition in the blanket rocks of medium or high strength parameters are similair to the run presented by Awierszyn for shallow exploitation where the blanket rocks were of medium or low strength parameters. In order to solve this issue, an analysis of measured displacements of the land surface for positions located above the exploitation of two selected deep mines including the advance was performed.
