Opis:
Do oszacowania zasobów osobistych wykorzystano COR-Evaluation (Conservation of Resources-Evaluation) Hobfolla, zaadaptowany przez Dudka i wsp. Narzędzie to pozwala ocenić poziom zysków i strat w zakresie 40 zasobów oraz obliczyć ogólny poziom zyskanych bądź utraconych zasobów. Do zbadania jakości relacji praca–dom oraz dom–praca użyto kwestionariusza SWING (Survey Work-Home Interaction – Nijmegen) Geurts i wsp. w adaptacji Mościckiej-Teske i Merecz. Wyniki: Zysk zasobów osobistych pozytywnie korelował z facylitacją praca–dom i dom–praca. Background: The aim of the study was to examine whether gain or loss of personal resources is associated with conflict or facilitation between work and family. Material and Methods: The study involved 90 employees (mean age: 34.5 years). The Polish version of COR-Evaluation (Conservation of Resources-Evaluation) questionnaire, developed by Hobfoll and adapted by Dudek et al, was used to assess personal resources. The questionnaire enables to estimate gain and loss of 40 resources and calculate the overall level of gained or lost resources. SWING Questionnaire (Survey Work-Home Interaction, Nijmegen), developed by Geurts et al. and adapted by Mościcka-Teske and Merecz), was used to examine the quality of work–home and home–work relationship. Results: The gain of personal resources positively correlates with both home–work facilitation (HWF) and work–home facilitation (WHF). Improvement of the family relations proved to be the most significant predictor of HWF and WHF. The loss of personal resources coincides with high level of conflict between the investigated areas of life. The main predictor of home–work conflict (HWC) was the variable relating to restrictions of access to medical services. In case of work–home conflict (WHC) the reduction of material security in case of dramatic life events was the major predictor. Conclusions: The results confirmed that the gain of resources is crucial for HWF/WHF, while their loss is an important factor, when the HWC/WHC is considered. The resources, which proved to be the main predictors of work–home and home–work relationship were also indicated. The obtained information may be beneficial to human resources managers, especially in designing the activities aimed at increasing the satisfaction and effectiveness of employees. Opis:
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to explore configurations of positive versus negative interactions between work and home (WHI) and their relation to burnout and demographic characteristics. Material and Methods: Sample of 533 Polish workers were interviewed by means of self-administered questionnaires (SWING and MBI-GS). Demographic and work characteristics were also controlled. Results: Cluster analysis distinguished 5 types of WHIs: positive WHI (18%), negative WHI (15.9%), no interaction (29.3%), mutual positive interactions (15.4%) and positive HWI (21.4%). The quality of WHI was associated with number of work hours and tenure at main place of employment. The effect of gender on the quality of work-home interaction was not significant. Configuration of WHIs affected the level of burnout. Again, there was no significant difference between men and women in terms of burnout and its sub-dimensions. The least burned-out were people from positive WHI, positive HWI and mutual positive interaction groups. The most burned-out were people who experienced negative WHI the most often. In this group, predominance of men working more than 10 h per day was observed. The majority of study group (71%) experienced rather integration than segmentation of both spheres. Conclusions: Our results suggest that segmentation is not an universal and effective strategy of coping with work and home demands – it may prevent the positive home-work spillover, which can be buffer or remedy against stress or burnout. We consider cluster analysis the appropriate method in research on relation to work-family balance issue, which may be useful in unraveling relationships between this phenomenon and attitudes and behaviors.

Opis:
The goal of good education is to ad duce the pupil to self-education. Authoritarian education should be transformed in self-education when the role of the educator diminishes as he rather becomes a counselor and friend. Self-educations begins already in the small child (“I myself’). Catechesis should develop faih and responsible Christian life by fulfilling didactic, educational, and initiation (mistagogy) functions. A well-organized catechesis help in the process of self-education by setting up of goals, by diagnosis (self-evaluation), prognosis, selection of projects and ways of their realization. The transition from education to selfeducation requires skills necessary for promoting the activity of each one and the whole group during the catechesis lessons. Sharing the responsibility for the creation of the catechesis lessons with the pupils together with their participation in the evaluation process and their personal home work are helpful in the process of self-education. The theological reason for self-education are Christ’s words: You, therefore, must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect” (Matt 5:48).

Opis:
Subject and purpose of work: Remote work is a phenomenon which has rapidly intensified as a result of COVID-19 pandemic. The article presents the scale of remote work in Poland before the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, i.e. until 2020, and directly during the pandemic, i.e. from 2020 to the first half of 2021. The topics discussed concern: the concept of remote work, the level and structure of persons working remotely in Poland and changes in their number in the recent years as compared to those across the world and within the European Union Member States by sectors of ownership, particular regions of the country and a type of socio-economic activity. Moreover, positive and negative consequences of remote work for employees, employers and their families are presented. Materials and methods: The analysis concerning the development of remote work is based on many sources: data from Eurostat, Eurofound, the International Labour Organisation (ILO), Statistics Poland, as well as surveys conducted by national and foreign consulting companies dealing with the labour market. The following have been applied: a descriptive analysis allowing identification of basic data in the scope of share of remote workers, an analysis of dynamics identifying changes in the studied scope and a comparative analysis assessing the scale of remote workers in the country with regard to the data noted in the EU states. Results: Before the pandemic in 2018, in Poland – in comparison to the EU states – the share of employees who had the possibility of working remotely was below average and amounted to approx. 4.6% (whereas in the whole EU 5.2% of persons aged between 15 and 64 years old regularly worked remotely from home). In 2020, the share of persons who “usually work from home” doubled in our country in comparison to the data for 2018 and amounted to 8.9%. The largest share of remote workers in the general number of workers at the end of the 1st quarter of 2021 was noted in the following sectors: financial and insurance services (36.1%), education (45.9%) and IT (66.8%). These sectors were also the leaders in digitalisation and automation before the pandemic. Conclusions: Remote work is a flexible form of employment, which has recently developed , due to the coronavirus pandemic in Poland and globally on a mass scale and at an unprecedented pace. This form of work using the newest information and communication technologies (ICT) has changed work and workplaces, as well as opened new divisions on the labour market since better educated persons living in urban areas are better prepared to work outside their employers’ premises.

Purpose – We conceptualized the novel phenomenon of COVID-induced virtual teams and its implications and provided researchers with the required information on how to conduct a phenomenon-based study for conceptualizing novel phenomena in relevant ways. Design/methodology/approach – This article stems from phenomenon-based and, thus, theory-building and grounded qualitative research in the German industrial sector. We conducted 47 problem-centered interviews in two phases (February–July 2021 and February–July 2022) to understand how team members and team leaders experienced COVID-induced virtual teamwork and its subsequent developments. Findings – Empirically, we found COVID-induced virtual teams to be characterized by a high relevance of shaping positive team dynamics via steering internal moderators; crisis is a novel external moderator and transformation becomes the key output factor to be leveraged. Work-from-home leads to specific configuration needs and interrelations between work-from-home and on-site introduce additional dynamics. Methodologically, the phenomenon-based approach is found to be highly suitable for studying the effects of such novel phenomena. Research limitations/implications – This article is explorative. Thus, we advocate further research on related novel phenomena, such as post-COVID-hybrid and work-from-home teams. A model of how to encourage positive dynamics in post-COVID-hybrid teams is developed and lays the groundwork for further studies on post-COVID teamwork. Concerning methodology, researchers are provided with information on how to conduct phenomenon-based research on novel phenomena, such as the COVID-induced virtual teams that we studied. Practical implications – Companies receive advice on how to encourage positive dynamics in post-COVID teamwork, e.g. on identifying best practices and resilient individuals. Social implications – In a country such as Germany that faces labor shortages, our insights might facilitate better labor-market integration for those with care-work obligations and international workers. Originality/value – We offer a first conceptualization of a relevant novel phenomenon, namely COVID- induced virtual teams. We exemplify the phenomenon-based approach as a suitable methodology that serves to build relevant theory using active categorization.

The work-family balance is a state of globally assessed equilibrium in which labour resources enable employees to meet the requirements and expectations of the family, while family resources enable family members to meet the requirements and expectations of the work, making it possible to act effectively in both areas. The aim of this paper is to demonstrate that the problem of reconciling work and family life is of global reach (and particularly acute in Western societies). Also, to present differences between selected countries in this aspect. Our hypothesis assumes that, taking work-life balance into consideration, Poland is in the worst situation among these countries. Following Korpi’s classification, the countries we have selected for the analysis are: Germany, Belgium (examples of the general family support model), Sweden, Finland (the dual earner support model) and the United Kingdom (the market-oriented model). Although Poland is not present in Korpi’s classification, we include it in our analysis as an example of a different model, not mentioned by Korpi, namely, the paternalistic-market model.

Our labour is intricately woven into our identity, extending beyond mere livelihood. It ought to facilitate personal growth, define our societal roles, and contribute to a common good within the confines of social and environmental sustainability. However, the contemporary work landscape is undergoing profound and global changes, disrupting traditional and conventional notions of work dynamics and its associated relationships. Amidst the diverse and country-specific alterations, a universal paradigm shift is reshaping nearly every sector of the economy. The pressing question emerges: How can we prevent the shift toward more flexible employment from translating into a life of perpetual instability? As job structures become more malleable and the boundaries between professional and personal life blur, the risks of self-exploitation and work-induced stress loom. In navigating these transformations, we must discern the evolving paradigms of work and consider their social and economic repercussions. What lessons are we being prompted to internalize as the European work landscape undergoes unprecedented changes? It becomes imperative to explore these shifts and their implications for a sustainable and equitable future. Exploring the existential insights of the Shabbàt and extracting valuable lessons from biblical wisdom prompts us to ponder the significance of rest in fostering healthy relationships and connectivity—with ourselves, others, our work, and our shared environment. The prevalent culture of constant availability and the obligation to stay connected could benefit from a biblical perspective, particularly in grasping the essence of Shabbàts wisdom.

The text presents the world of the homeless as the world of the “homeful” people; it attempts to reconstruct the fragments of their everyday life and rituals that they create within the space arranged into their “homefullness”. Thanks to this article, the Reader may, experience the life of homeless people from another perspective. They can see that every homeless person has their own space and defined limits. The article present two different perspectives of homelessness; one belonging to the homeless people and the other to the society. Z powodu pandemii COVID-19 rośnie znaczenie problematyki pracy w systemie home office.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the problems of the home office work system are growing significantly. Research shows that after the pandemic outbreak in Poland, 67% of enterprises that had not previously used this form of work decided to use it. Considering the current situation, the mass remote work with a relatively low level of recognition of its consequences and conditions justifies scientific research on this method of work organization. The aim of the theoretical part of the article is to systematize knowledge about working in the home office system, while the aim of the empirical part is to diagnose the managers' attitudes of remote work. The conclusions were supported by the results of the survey research.

Materials and methods: In the research phenomenological research design, one of the qualitative research methods, was used. The study group of the research consisted of 20 female faculty members from Turkey. Results: Within the scope of the research, it was concluded that female academics, like other women in the society, undertake a series of gender role-based responsibilities. Conclusions: The results of the research reveal that even women who belong to a profession that requires a high level of education and shows a status in the society, such as academics, take on more responsibilities in home life than their male colleagues. This result also proves that education and status factors are not sufficient to invalidate gender roles and social patriarchy.

Opis:
After widespread use of work-from-home (a.k.a. ‘remote work’) during the COVID-19 pandemic, many organizations intend to continue or expand its use into the future. This paper presents a literature review and results from an original survey, both of which point to key considerations for planners and managers. Subjects that are highlighted include: giving remote workers access to job-related information they need; recognizing that certain types of tasks may be more challenging to manage in WFH, such as loosely specified tasks and those involving substantial change or newness; and issues that arise in regard to morale and motivation.

The aim of the article is to assess the activities of employers from the private and state sectors in Poland, related to the delegation of employees to work in the home office, and to analyze the skills and possibilities of self-organization of work by employees.
