Supply chain management is one of the most important elements of sustainable development. And due to the fact that the world market is driven by supply and demand, and the determinant of access to products is regional and international logistics, this paper focuses on the possibilities of implementing a green transport strategy in the context of sustainable development in logistic enterprises. This paper presents the results of the SWOT analysis pointing out the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats of green vehicles market for the transport enterprises. It was noticed that the situation on the green vehicles market for the transport enterprises is characterized by the advantage of strengths and these strengths should be used to maximize the use of green vehicles. It emphasized that subsidies for green vehicles would allow to invest in a modern fleet, new solutions (e.g. own charging stations) can have an impact on the greater energy efficiency (self-sufficiency), increase of social awareness would force enterprises to take appropriate actions in the field of environmental protection and development of public transport based on green vehicles.

Opis:
Green logistics is the part of the activities of an enterprise aimed at measuring and minimizing the impact of logistics activities on the environment. Such actions are dictated by the possibility of achieving a competitive advantage in the market, because clients require it. Transport is a particularly important area with a huge impact on the environment, because it is identified as the fastest growing source of greenhouse gas emissions. Green transport is low-emission and ecological travelling mode. The goals of green transport are not only to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, air pollution, noise and space use, but also to reduce poverty and promote economic growth. Transport is considered green when it supports environmental sustainability, but also supports the other two pillars of sustainable development, i.e. economic and social. This paper discusses the application of the concept of "green" logistics and "green" technologies in transport in the transportation process. The modern requirements for transport in the field of environmental safety and compliance with environmental requirements both on the part of customers and on the part of states are considered.

This article presents the operating principles of the Baltic–Adriatic Transport Corridors – a supranational structure functioning on the background of European countries and on the Polish Baltic Sea coast in particular. It deals with both the issue of transport policy within the framework of this corridor and implemented logistics solutions accompanying changes in goods flow, since the importance of transport corridor is determined not only by infrastructure with adequately high technical parameters, but also by the type of flows which are accomplished via this corridor. And these, in the case of the Baltic–Adriatic transport corridor, are going to increase dynamically in the foreseeable future.

Komitet Polityczny programu Civitas Caravel (Policy Advisary Committee) podjął inicjatywę opracowania Zielonej księgi dla transportu publicznego. Założenia do niej przyjęte zostały w maju 2007 r. na posiedzeniu w Brukseli. Przekazano je oficjalnie wiceprzewodniczącemu Komisji Europejskiej, komisarzowi ds. transportu Panu M. Jacques Barrot. Na podstawie tych założeń w połowie 2007 r. zostanie przygotowany tekst Zielonej księgi. W artykule przedstawiono ostateczną wersję założeń.

The paper discusses some aspects of the transport industry’s impact on the process of globalization in the world economy. Emphasis is put on the emerging new trends in that area, and in particular on the reverse globalization frequently referred to as “de-globalization”. While the latter concept provides ground for controversy, it seems that it has become visible in the number of trades and in particular in food trades which engage a considerable portion of the world transport system’s carrying capacity. Moving back to local production of food, one of many areas where the process of de-globalization appears to have started, might liberate vast reserves of transport capacity worldwide while, simultaneously, it will contribute to the reduction of transport-generated pollution. Arguments for such a solution are raised in the paper as is the necessity for more in-depth analysis in this field.

Maritime passenger transport entails significant risks and threats against the environment. The existing International rules – from the MARPOL 73/78 Convention to the European Regulations and Directives and ISO standards- aim to avoid pollution both in the high seas and in the ports. Concepts such as Green port or Smart port arise from an effort to make better use of the available resources, increasing efficiency, better energy use, use of the information and telecommunications technologies (ICT), and the lowest environmental impact. Furthermore, technics and programmes of energy management have been developed for the same purposes also. This paper reviews the main rules in the matter, as well as the most innovative technologies aiming to improve the shipping performance. In January 2020 the European Parliament approved a resolution on the Green Deal, which aims to ensure that the EU achieves climate neutrality by 2050. Crucial to achieving the strategy’s goals is sustainable and green mobility. Rail transport as the most sustainable mode of transport is an important factor in achieving these changes. This article presents a synthetic diagnosis of the position of railways on the passenger transport market in Poland, in the context of the Green Deal assumptions. The essential analysis was preceded by a discussion of the structure of external transport costs, which is one of the determinants of the Green Deal. Trends in passenger transport were then identified and attention was paid to the shift of inter-industry relations in favour of rail transport. An analysis of the structure of regional and agglomeration rail transport was also carried out. Developments in this market area show a revitalisation of agglomeration rail links, which fits in with the sustainable mobility strategy.

Około 60% populacji Unii Europejskiej mieszka w obszarach miejskich (miasta powyżej 10 tys. mieszkańców - dane statystyczne Eurostat). Miasta są siłą napędowa europejskiej gospodarki, a blisko 85% produktu krajowego brutto UE jest generowane na tych obszarach. Dane statystyczne dowodzą (raport TERM 2006 dot. Wpływu transportu na środowisko, przedstawiony w Parlamencie Europejskicm w trakcie posiedzenia Komisji Transportu i Turystyki w dniach 11.12.04.2007 r. przez Jacqueline McGlade - dyrektor naczelną Europejskiej Agencji Ochrony Środowiska z siedzibą w Kopenhadze), że transport jest odpowiedzialny za emisję 21% gazów cieplarnianych w EU-15 (wyłączając międzynarodowy transport lotniczy i morski), 93% wszystkich gazów cieplarnianych jest emitowane przez transport samochodowy, a najszybsze zwiększenie emisji gazów cieplarnianych odnotowano w międzynarodowym transporcie lotniczym (86% w latach 1990.2004).

Modelling of transport systems is a complex issue requiring taking into account many factors that allow for the mapping of the real system and thus allowing decision support. In the era of increasingly higher requirements for services, transport also faces the challenges of sustainable development. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research both in the sphere of technical and organizational solutions aimed at limiting pollutant emissions. Mapping in the model the negative impact of transport on the environment allows for planning the implementation of the transport service taking into account the pro-ecological criterion. This is particularly important in urban areas where traffic and especially heavy goods vehicles are particularly onerous for inhabitants and require limiting transport work in the city area and the use of environmentally friendly rolling stock. The aim of the article is to present the considerations regarding the modelling of transport systems including pollutant emissions. The article introduces the problem of cargo distribution and a review of the models of estimation of pollution emission in the micro and macro scale was carried out. Next, a mathematical model was proposed which is a variant of the Vehicle Routing Problem of the so-called Green VRP. In the distribution model was used COPERT methodology for estimation of harmful substance emission. In article examples of calculations carried out on the example of the city of Warsaw for the organization of cargo distribution due to the CO emission criterion was presented. The article ended with a short synthesis of the work carried out.

Transport odgrywa kluczową rolę w gospodarce. We współczesnych gospodarkach jest źródłem około 10% PKB. Generuje on jednak także koszty zewnętrzne, związane między innymi z wypadkami, a przede wszystkim z negatywnym oddziaływaniem na środowisko. Zwiększenie zapotrzebowania na transport prawdopodobnie spowoduje dalsze nasilenie się tych problemów. Niestety, to społeczeństwo ponosi koszty tych negatywnych skutków, a użytkownicy transportu w niewielkim zakresie znajdują motywację do zmiany zachowań transportowych w celu ograniczenia tych skutków.

Increasingly, China is showing endeavours to understand the idea of sustainable development. This is evident in the policy of Chinese ports development, which assumes efforts to assign it, or at least to adapt it to conditions of the sustainable development. However, from the three optic of the sustainable development i.e. economic, social and environmental, the latter is the most visible in provisions of the policy assumptions of Chinese seaports. The purpose of this article is to point out the reasons of implementing environmental principles of the Chinese ports sustainable development. The relationship between the concept of sustainable development of the port and the green port has been characterized. The areas of a negative impact of the port on the environment are identified and described. Based on cases of Chinese ports, the key reasons why the concept green port is being implemented have been highlighted.

W artykule przedstawiono znaczenie zielonych zamówień publicznych zgodnie z nowymi wytycznymi Unii Europejskiej dla inwestycji budowlanych i transportu drogowego jako obszarów priorytetowych. Zwrócono uwagę na nowe wymagania zgodne z wytycznymi Komisji Europejskiej dotyczącymi aspektów prawnych zielonych zamówień publicznych oraz przedstawiono kryteria środowiskowe w cyklu życia budynków oraz pojazdów dla zielonych zamówień publicznych. Wskazano również na główne inicjatywy, które należy podejmować w obszarach budownictwa i transportu w kierunku spełnienia kryteriów zielonych zamówień publicznych.
The article presents the importance of green public procurement in accordance with the European Union new guidelines for construction investments and road transport as priority areas. Attention was drawn to new requirements in line with the European Commission guidelines on the legal aspects of green public procurement and environmental criteria in the life cycle of buildings and vehicles for green public procurement were presented. The main initiatives that should be taken in the areas of construction and transport to meet the criteria of green public procurement were also indicated.

Among the most important problems faced by the air transport today there can be mentioned some negative influences of aircraft and airports on the environment and the increasing costs of air transport. One of the possibilities to improve the situation is to work out innovative solutions aimed at decreasing of the aircraft pollution and improving the transport effectiveness. Among the most innovative ideas is the use of magnetic levitation (MAGLEV) to aid the take-off and landing of the transport aircraft. The “Integrated Ground and on-Board system for Support of the Aircraft Safe Take-off and Landing” – GABRIEL, deals with radically new integration of the MAGLEV technology into the air transportation system that contains aircraft, airport, air traffic control, authority, logistic and operational support, maintenance, etc. GABRIEL idea includes operation of the aircraft without the conventional undercarriage system and using the ground based power and supporting systems for take-offs and landings. In case of using the GABRIEL system as a catapult, the aircraft on the track must be accelerated to the speed permitting to reach the altitude of 300 m or more. Such take-off and climb results in minimum noise and minimal emission of substances harmful for the environment. After reaching the altitude of 300 m, the aircraft may follow its flight with using different flight strategies. Different conditions of the unconventional take-off needs to shape other way the trajectory of the initial stage of the aircraft flight after the lift-off. The aim of the present work was to determine the optimal conditions of the lift-off and the optimal trajectory of the initial climb minimizing the emission. Simplified realization of the Ritz- Galerkin method was used in this work, which uses an approximate solution to boundary value problems for determining the optimal flight trajectory.

World transport faces a serious challenge, which involves the detrimental impact of its activity on the environment. Marine transport is a significant link in the worldwide transport system, which provides the free flow of diversified cargoes and offers competitive prices compared to other modes of transport for the carriage of goods. Seaports enabling waterborne transport have a major impact on the economic, social and natural environment. Port managing authorities show growing awareness of the negative influence of port units on the surrounding environment. Concurrently, environmentally friendly measures are implemented in line with the principles of sustainable development. The article aim is to present the characteristics of the green ports concept in response to ports struggle with environmental problems. The article presents port development background and the evolving approach to environmental issues. The seaport in Gdynia is an example of pursuing a sustainable development policy, and informally is well embedded in the concept of green ports.
