    Opis:
    The purpose of the article/hypothesis: The goal of this paper is to analyze tax evasion with special emphasis on gender. Factors influencing tax noncompliance such as age, income, education, confidence in government, political scale and religiosity are analyzed. Methodology: Tax evasion is analyzed based on the most recent (Wave 7) World Value Survey data with the significance of differences between respondents, correlation and regression models analysis. Results of the research: It has been found that there are significant differences between the global approach and groups of males and females when the acceptance of cheating on taxes is taken into consideration. The analysis of groups reflected the fact that all factors influence respondents in the same way without distinguishing between males and females.

    Opis:
    Cel artykułu skoncentrowany jest na znaczeniu koncepcji infrastruktury osadniczej w zakresie spostrzegania i realizacji społecznego sensu zrównoważonego rozwoju przestrzeni zamieszkiwania, prowadzącego do postępów współczesnej urbanizacji, a zatem rozwoju cywilizacyjnego. Teza rozważań mówi, że w koncepcji rozwoju zrównoważonego jego podstawowe płaszczyzny: społeczna, ekonomiczna i ekologiczno- -przyrodnicza nie mają płaszczyzny wspólnej, wyznaczającej społeczny nadrzędny cel tego rozwoju. Płaszczyznę tę ukazuje spojrzenie na koncepcję infrastruktury osadniczej dającą także praktyczne możliwości kierowania aktywności społeczno-gospodarczej ku rozwojowi zrównoważonemu. Metodyczne podejście do tej problematyki wymaga utożsamiania rozwoju cywilizacji – owego globalnego „mieszkania” – któremu ton nadaje urbanizacja z przestrzenią zamieszkiwania.
    The aim of the paper is to analyse the meaning of settlement infrastructure in the context of the perception and realisation of sustainable development of contemporary living spaces, as defined by society, which then leads to progress in modern urbanisation and general societal development. The hypothesis of sustainable development states that its key planes of development (social, economic, environmental) are not intersected by a plane of common and socially overarching priorities. This common plane can be observed by looking at the concept of settlement infrastructure, which allows for a practical prompting of social and economic activity designed to drive sustainable development. The practical means of accomplishing this goal is to equate societal development with living space or the global apartment of civilisation.

    Opis:
    A conceptual framework to design sustainable pension policy is offered to tackle the inter-plays between different determinants from the perspective of economic policy and the concept of sustainable development. The investigation of the main socio-economic determinants presented in the literature resulted in the designing of a holistic conceptual framework, which is designed to sup-port decision-makers and researchers who need to understand the determinants of specific policy programmes and their long-term socio-economic consequences. As a result, it helps to determine and design a sustainable pension policy. The sustainable framework emphasises the ideological back-ground for the economic debates, historical paths plotted in the path-dependence 4S framework and the key arguments for and against the funded and unfunded pension schemes. The sustainable con-ceptual framework emphasises the multiple objectives of pension policy, resource flows and the capi-tal formation debate in economics, as well as the global perspective of capital flows.
    Zaproponowane są ramy koncepcyjne dla projektowania zrównoważonej polityki emerytalnej w celu rozwiązania problemu wzajemnych zależności pomiędzy różnymi determinantami z punktu widzenia polityki gospodarczej i koncepcji zrównoważonego rozwoju. Badanie głównych społeczno-ekonomicznych uwarunkowań przedstawionych w literaturze doprowadziło do opracowania całościowych ram koncepcyjnych, które mają wspierać decydentów i badaczy, którzy muszą zrozumieć determinanty określonych programów politycznych I ich długoterminowe społeczno-ekonomiczne konsekwencje. W rezultacie pomaga się określić I zaprojektować zrównoważoną politykę emerytalną. Zrównoważone ramy koncepcyjne kładą nacisk na ideologiczne tło debat gospodarczych, ścieżki historyczne ujęte w modelu 4s zależnej ścieżki oraz kluczowe argumenty za I przeciw kapitałowych I repartycyjnych systemów emerytalnych. Niniejsze ramy koncepcyjne wskazują na wiele celów polityki emerytalnej, przepływy zasobów i debaty o tworzeniu kapitału w ekonomii, a także globalną perspektywę przepływu kapitału.

    Two centuries ago, Asia delivered over 60 percent of world production; in the middle of the 20th century it was less than 20 percent. Currently, it is twice as large and this share is still increasing, above all but not only, because of China whose production is still growing at a rate twice as fast as the world average. China is trying to maintain high economic dynamics, inter alia, through investment external expansion. This aim is to be served, among others, by the infrastructure project, drawn up with enormous verve, known as the New Silk Road, which the Middle Kingdom addresses to 65 countries on three continents. While some hope for accelerating their own economic growth, others warn against the risk of becoming dependent on China. The article analyzes these challenges, pointing to the desired directions of irreversible evolution globalization by giving it a more inclusive character, which is also strongly emphasized by the Chinese authorities in their official enunciations.
    Dwa wieki temu Azja wytwarzała ponad 60 proc. światowej produkcji, a w połowie XX wieku było to poniżej 20 proc. Obecnie jest dwakroć więcej i udział ten nadal rośnie, przede wszystkim, acz nie tylko za sprawą Chin, których produkcja zwiększa się wciąż w tempie dwukrotnie szybszym niż średnia światowa. Chiny starają się utrzymać wysoką dynamikę gospodarczą między innymi poprzez inwestycyjną ekspansję zewnętrzną. Temu między innymi ma służyć nakreślony z ogromnych rozmachem projekt infrastrukturalny znany jako Nowy Jedwabny Szlak, który Państwo Środka adresuje do 65 krajów na trzech kontynentach. O ile jedni pokładają w tym nadzieję na przyspieszenie własnego wzrostu gospodarczego, inni przestrzegają przed ryzykiem uzależnienia się od Chin. Artykuł analizuje te wyzwania, wskazując na pożądane kierunki ewolucji nieodwracalnej globalizację poprzez nadawanie jej bardziej inkluzyjnego charakteru, co mocno akcentują także chińskie władze w swoich oficjalnych enuncjacjach.

    In the paper, the author postulates that philology may be characterized by an evolutionary sequence: from classical philology, to modern native and nonnative types of philologies, to the expected panphilology. The portals perspective applied in the paper has allowed the author to investigate all four evolutionary phases with special emphasis on the latest phase of the proposed evolutionary sequence. Panphilology has been described in greater detail as characterized by such features as an open and eclectic type of studies, cosmopolitanism and students' freedom in selecting their highly individual paths of studies.

    Mentalization is a form of social cognition that enables to perceive and interpret human behaviour in terms of intentional mental states (Frith & Frith, 2003) and is influenced by social context (e.g., O’Connor and Hirsch, 1999). Hence, we examined mentalization related to specific attachment relationships (Bowlby, 1969; Fraley, 2007). This study involved 115 participants (85% female) who reported their relationship-specific (ECR-RS; Fraley et al., 2011) and global attachment styles (ECR; Brennan, Clark, Shaver, 1998), and perspective-taking tendency towards their attachment figures (IRI-PT subscale; Davis, 1983). Reading the Mind in the Eyes Task-Revised (Baron-Cohen et al., 2001) was used as a proxy for mentalization disregarding relationships. The results showed that perspective-taking was associated with relationship-specific attachment avoidance (rs > -.29; all ps < .01) whereas global characteristics of mentalization were not related to attachment quality. Our findings indicate that the link between attachment quality and mentalization is relationship-specific.

    Mountain forests are facing substantial changes. The need to adapt forest management to climate change is overlaid by the consequences of demographic changes that alter the form of land use profoundly. The European policy is aware of the challenges and supports mountain regions by the Regulation for Rural Developments and other strategies. Regional efforts of the Forest Authorities account for the changing ownership structure in order to ensure sustainable forest management and the provision of the dependent ecosystem services.

    Artykuł wpisuje się w kontekst badań prowadzonych nad bezpieczeństwem w naukach społecznych z wykorzystaniem krytycznych koncepcji badawczych, rozwijających się w opozycji do pozytywistycznych paradygmatów, jak realizm czy liberalizm po zakończeniu zimnej wojny. Dodatkowo autor wykorzystał nowe podejście – studia globalne – do analizy skutków ekspansji tzw. Państwa Islamskiego (ISIS) na Bliskim Wschodzie i jego oddziaływania w ramach nowego terroryzmu międzynarodowego. Celem rozważań jest ukazanie procesu formowania się studiów globalnych (ang. Global Studies) jako nowego ujęcia badawczego i akademickiego w naukach społecznych. Zostaną także wykazane możliwości aplikacyjne omawianego podejścia i zostanie podjęta próba analizy ISIS i percepcji tego zagrożenia terrorystycznego z perspektywy historycznej, co stanowi wartość naukową w polskiej i światowej literaturze. W ramach opracowania wykorzystane zostaną również takie metody badawcze jak metoda komparatywna i analiza jakościowa. Podstawowe pytanie brzmi: na ile studia globalne odróżniają się od innych nurtów w kontekście analizy problemów bezpieczeństwa i stanowią użyteczne ramy analizy? Artykuł ukazuje możliwości adaptacji założeń Global Studies jako krytycznej i postkolonialnej perspektywy poznawczej do analizy tragicznych losów jazydów pod okupacją ISIS i roli mediów w przestrzeni internetowej, wykorzystywanych do kampanii propagandowych i rekrutacyjnych na niespotykaną skalę, jako długofalowego efektu Arabskiej Wiosny.
    The scientific article fits into the context of research on security within the social sciences with the use of critical research concepts, developing in opposition to positivist paradigms such as realism or liberalism after the end of the Cold War. In addition, in the article the author puts emphasis on methodological aspect, using a new approach – Global Studies – to the analysis of the effects of the expansion of the so-called Islamic State (ISIS) in the Middle East and its influence in the framework of new international terrorism. On the subject of research, the aim is to present the process of formation of Global Studies as a new academic research approach in social sciences. The application possibilities of the discussed approach will also be shown and an attempt will be made to analyze ISIS and the perception of this terrorist threat from a historical perspective, which is of scientific value in both Polish and world literature. Research methods such as comparative method and qualitative analysis will also be used as part of the study. The main question is to what extent Global Studies differs from other trends in the context of analyzing security problems and provides a useful framework for the analysis. The article presents the possibility of adapting the assumptions of Global Studies as a critical and postcolonial cognitive perspective to the analysis of the tragic fate of the Yazidis under the occupation of ISIS and the role of the media in the Internet space, used for propaganda and recruitment campaigns on an unprecedented scale, as a long-term effect of the Arab Spring.
