Article is devoted to the peculiarities of the transformation of the territorial structure of the region, which has emerged from the deeply to the trans-border as a result of the delimitation of the post-Soviet geospace. Author identifies and describes main historic- -geographical region’s development periods. The landscape’s role and the role of attraction of ethnic groups in the formation of ethno-cultural regional specificity and regional identity are represented in this article. The article is devoted to the peculiarities of the transformation of the territorial structure of the region and reveals some prospects in the development of territorial structure of the region in terms of ethno-cultural complex. Author employed the results of her own field research.
Artykuł został poświęcony osobliwości przekształcania struktury terytorialnej regionu, która wyłoniła się z głębokiej transgraniczności w wyniku rozgraniczenia geopolityki postradzieckiej. Autorka identyfikuje i opisuje główne okresy rozwoju regionu historyczno-geograficznego. W artykule przedstawiono role krajobrazu i przyciągania grup etnicznych w kształtowaniu specyfiki regionalno-etnokulturowej oraz tożsamości regionalnej. Uwidacznia on również perspektywy rozwoju terytorialnej struktury regionu pod względem kompleksu etnokulturowego. Autorka wykorzystała wyniki własnych badań terenowych.

This paper initially deals with the origins of the idea of global education. It points to the multitude of internationally existing concepts and business terms of global education which makes it difficult to implement the global dimension into real-life education. This “international” multitude is, as a result, obvious in the Czech terminology of global development education (GRV in the Czech text) where it originates as particular authors followed one or the other concept of global education. The objective of this paper is not to discuss the correctness or ambiguities in particular conceptions but to find essential contact points in relevant references and thus to offer a determinate picture regarded as GRV. Thus the paper firstly describes the interrelation of often confused concepts of global education and development education. Although it is obvious that the global education is superordinate to development education, many interested parties did not fully understood the international points of view and did not expose the meanings of particular terms. This too was the reason that in the Czech National Strategy GRV 2011–2015, the GRV was coined as a specific term. GRV is then a kind of happy medium between global education and development education. Secondly, the main topics and principles of GRV originating in the National Strategy of Development Education 2011–2015 (based on the British curriculum) are discussed along with their possible modifications and more exact definitions. The article also focuses on a “global development of an educated pupil.” The main educational objectives of GRV are listed and the importance of their differentiation by the age groups of the pupils. In the conclusion, the paper provides samples of topics for GRV of primary school children, the topic being Namibia, the African country.

Objectives of the article were defining factors the role of the services sector in the innovation development in Ukraine and Poland, determining the impact of new trends in behavioral economy on areas of innovative development of service sector in Ukraine and Poland. This sector of economy employs more than half of workers. It produces more than half of gross value added in the country. The author of this paper worked on materials that are tangent to the development of Polish and Ukrainian economy in 2000-2015 years. The author noted that the trend of innovative development have not changed significantly in both countries in service sector. This assumption is based on results of SWOT-analysis, comparative analysis. The article describes the essence of service sector in Ukraine and Poland, presents comparative analysis of global dynamics of innovation index, shows the influence of service sector on innovation development of economy of Ukraine and Poland, define factors of innovative development of enterprise in service sector of Poland and Ukraine. Conclusions and recommendations were made regarding to possibilities of using Polish experience in the innovative development of enterprises in service sector of Ukraine. It was established that the most important mechanism for the development of innovative service sector is establishing a contact between the consumer and the seller. It was established that this contact must be based on culture and high level of education on both sides. It was also established that factors that contribute to the innovative development of service sector in Poland and Ukraine have both common and distinctive features. The development of Poland and Ukraine should be based on activities of domestic enterprises, savings, the use of EU funds and know-hows of other companies in Poland and Ukraine.

W opracowaniu zanalizowane zostały odpowiedzi religii światowych na problemy wynikające z zachodzących procesów globalizacyjnych, które są odpowiedzialne z kolei za stwarzanie przeszkód w dalszym trwałym rozwoju. Na początku znajduje się omówienie problemów wynikłych z procesów globalizacyjnych, w drugiej części scharakteryzowane zostały kanały za pomocą których religie świata formułują swoje odpowiedzi na wyróżnione problemy oraz źródła na których się opierają sugerując rozwiązania dla powstałych problemów. W trzeciej części są przedstawione odpowiedzi religii na te wyróżnione wyzwania: wyzwania o charakterze społecznym (nierówność, bezrobocie i ubóstwo – jako konsekwencje procesów globalizacyjnych) i wyzwania o charakterze gospodarczym tj. polityka rozwojowa , społeczeństwo konsumpcyjne i zarządzanie międzynarodowe. W zakończeniu oprócz krótkiego podsumowania podobieństw i różnic występujących między stosunkiem religii do problemów globalizacji, przedstawione zostały szanse i zagrożenia związane z aktywnością religii na tym polu.
The paper is focussing on the analysis of world's religions responses to problems arising from globalization processes, which in turn are responsible for creating obstacles to further sustainable development. In the first part problems resulting from globalization processes are discussed. The second part is concerned with the characteristic of channels by that religions of the world formulate their response to the highlighted problems and sources on which world religion support their solution to the problems raised. Finally, the third part presents answers to these religions highlighted challenges: the challenges of a social nature (inequality, unemployment and poverty - as a consequence of globalization) and the mostly economic challenges like economic development policy consumer society and international governance. In conclusion, after a brief summary of the similarities and differences between the relationship of religion to the problems of globalization, the opportunities and risks associated with the activity of religion in this field are mentioned.

The world we live in today is becoming increasingly interdependent - economically, politically, culturally and in terms of ecology. In a context of globalization and growing interconnections and interdependencies emerged a need to develop and spread an ideology which emphasizes that a person, first and foremost, is a member of the global community of people. The article gives an account of the concept of global citizenship, analyses the features that are inherent to the „citizen of the world”. Finally, the importance of global citizenship education is emphasised for the achievement of the sustainable development goals.

The Author of the article reconstructs the origin and development of rankings of higher education institutions. In the first part the current ranking are listed and the importance of rankings for universities is stressed. Next, the beginning of American rankings in the XIXth century is presented as well ad turning points in methodologies of evaluation. The rankings created by Charles Babcock and James McKeena Cattell in the first decades of XXth century are analysed. The special attention is paid to changes in criteria used to assess the educational institutions in subsequent decades. In conlusive part the Author criticizes rankings for one-dimensional and reductionist approach to academic world.

The text is devoted to new trends and changes emerging in the economic sciences, focused on growth, socio-economic development and income inequalities in the context of the idea of global rationality, understood as the ability to sustain the long-term existence of civilization on the entire planet. The thematic scope of this problem is broad; thus it is impossible to cover all its complexity in one study. Hence, attention is focused on selected aspects of the issues raised: on issues related to growth and development as well as economic inequalities, the economic foundations of growth, and the issue of substituting natural capital by human capital. A critical diagnosis and postulates for the future, with regard to measures of well-being in the context of the idea of sustainable development, are also considered as well as including the issue of sustainable development in development economics. The article ends with concluding remarks highlighting the thesis that economic growth should now be acceptable only when it does not excessively exploit natural capital and does contribute to deteriorating the quality of life. As for the methodological side of the text, it was created mainly through analysing the literature on the subject, but attention should be paid to the original nature of some predictions and recommendations, which were made as a result of the assumptions of the so-called diagnostic and prognostic analysis.

Climate change a phenomenon mainly caused by the high level of greenhouse gas (GHG) emission into the atmosphere of the Earth - makes human ecosystems vulnerable and is predicted to affect our everyday life in the near future. The increased intensity of storms, cyclones, drought and flooding; the greater magnitude and frequency of heat and cold waves and the continuous rise of the sea-level are likely to generate more geopolitical conflicts, especially in the most vulnerable regions of the planet. The three main categories of climate change impacts are classified as environmental, economic and social effects. The economic and social consequences of climate change are expected to significantly reduce the resilience of rural tourism regions and their capability to successfully respond to other possible critical events. Due to the impacts of natural disasters and extreme climatic events, global climate change affects European rural regions, too. The development of sustainable rural tourism requires the in-depth understanding of the ongoing processes and the development of tools that will serve the interest of tourism and local people alike.
Celem opracowania jest określenie przyszłości zrównoważonego rozwoju turystyki obszarów wiejskich w związku z wpływem zmian klimatycznych. Stwierdzono, że ze względu na skutki klęsk żywiołowych i ekstremalnych zjawisk klimatycznych, globalna zmiana klimatu wpływa również na europejskie regiony wiejskie. Rozwój zrównoważonej turystyki wiejskiej wymaga dogłębnego zrozumienia bieżących procesów i opracowywania narzędzi, które będą służyć zarówno turystyce, jak i ludności lokalnej.
