    This paper investigates the problem of the existence and uniqueness of solutions under the generalized self-similar forms to the space-fractional diffusion equation. Therefore, through applying the properties of Schauder's and Banach's fixed point theorems; we establish several results on the global existence and blow-up of generalized self-similar solutions to this equation.

    Opis:
    We consider a numerical solution of the initial-boundary value problem for the homogeneous wave equation with the Neumann condition using the retarded double layer potential. For solving an equivalent time-dependent integral equation we combine the Laguerre transform (LT) in the time domain with the boundary elements method. After LT we obtain a sequence of boundary integral equations with the same integral operator and functions in right-hand side which are determined recurrently. An error analysis for the numerical solution in accordance with the parameter of boundary discretization is performed. The proposed approach is demonstrated on the numerical solution of the model problem in unbounded three-dimensional spatial domain.

    In this paper, we generalize the (V, p)-invexity denned for nonsmooth multiobjective fractional programming by Mishra, Rueda and Giorgi (2003) to variational programming problems by defining new classes of vector- valued functions called (V, p)-B-type I and generalized (V, p)-B-type I. Then we use these new classes to derive various sufficient optimality conditions and mixed type duality results.

    In this paper, we consider the class of nondifferentiable multiobjective fractional variational control problems involving the nondifferentiable terms in the numerators and in the denominators. Under univexity and generalized univexity hypotheses, we prove optimality conditions and various duality results for such nondifferentiable multiobjective fractional variational control problems. The results established in the paper generalize many similar results established earlier in the literature for such nondifferentiable multiobjective fractional variational control problems.

    In this paper, we study multivalued linear operators (MLO's) and their resolvents in non reflexive Banach spaces, introducing a new condition of a minimal growth at infinity, more general than the Hille-Yosida condition. Then we describe the generalized semigroups induced by MLO's. We present a criterion for an MLO to be a generator of a generalized semigroup in an arbitrary Banach space. Finally, we obtain some existence results for differential inclusions with MLO's and various types of multivalued nonlinearities. As a consequence, we give theorems on the existence of local, global and bounded solutions of the Cauchy problem for degenerate differential inclusions.

    W pracy przedstawiono wyniki badań opadania pojedynczych cząstek ciała stałego w nienewtonowskich roztworach wodnych soli sodowej karboksymetylocelulozy. Wykazano możliwość wykorzystania wykresu Schillera-Naumanna dla opadania pojedynczej cząstki w płynie potęgowym w oparciu o definicję liczby Reynoldsa zaproponowaną przez Machača i in. .
    Experimental results dealing with single particle settling in non-Newtonian aqueous solutions of carboxymethylcellulose sodium salt are presented in the paper. It is shown that it is possible to use the Schiller-Naumann diagram for the particle settling in power-law fluids basing on the Reynolds number proposed by Machač et al. .

    Opis:
    Low-grade gliomas (LGGs) are primary brain tumours which evolve very slowly in time, but inevitably cause patient death. In this paper, we consider a PDE version of the previously proposed ODE model that describes the changes in the densities of functionally alive LGGs cells and cells that are irreversibly damaged by chemotherapy treatment. Besides the basic mathematical properties of the model, we study the possibility of the existence of travelling wave solutions in the framework of Fenichel’s invariant manifold theory. The estimates of the minimum speeds of the travelling wave solutions are provided. The obtained analytical results are illustrated by numerical simulations.

    Przedstawiono wyniki rozwiązania zagadnienia stykowego z zużyciem dla łożyska ślizgowego w przypadku owalności tulei i wału z wykorzystaniem metody ekspresowej procesu obliczeń. Zostały przebadane jednoobszarowy oraz mieszany schematy współdziałania w łożysku. Ustalono prawidłowości wpływu wielkości bloku stałych warunków kontaktu oraz zakresu dyskretyzacji zarysu wału z owalnością na trwałość łożyska. Oprócz tego został przebadany wpływ luzu promieniowego na trwałość łożyska.
    The solution results of contact problem and wear for sliding bearing under the existence of bush and shaft ovality are given using the express-method of calculations. Single-area and mixed schemes of interaction in the bearing are researched. The legitimacies of the influence of block size with constant contact conditions and discretization interval of shaft contour with ovality on the bearing longevity are determined. Besides, the influence of radial clearance on the bearing longevity is also researched.

    Opis:
    Celem pracy jest rozpoznanie poziomu rozwoju społeczno-gospodarczego powiatów ziemskich województwa wielkopolskiego. Do jego określenia wykorzystano cechę syntetyczną, która jest funkcją cech prostych – wyznaczników cząstkowych poziomu rozwoju społeczno-gospodarczego. W procedurze tworzenia cechy syntetycznej zastosowano do mierzenia odległości od wzorca i antywzorca rozwoju uogólnioną miarę odległości GDM (Walesiak 1993, 2011), a do agregacji cech metodę TOPSIS (Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to an Ideal Solution) (Hwang, Yoon 1981, Wysocki 2010). Miara Walesiaka (Walesiak 1993) pozwala na obliczanie odległości pomiędzy cechami opisywanymi na różnych typach skal tj. porządkowych, przedziałowych i ilorazowych. Natomiast metoda TOPSIS jest metodą wzorcową służącą do agregacji cech. Zaproponowane podejście pozwoliło dokonać oceny poziomu rozwoju społeczno-gospodarczego powiatów opisywanych przez cechy proste, zarówno metryczne, jak i porządkowe. W procesie oceny poziomu społeczno-gospodarczego powiatów województwa wielkopolskiego wykorzystano dane statystyczne z ankiety przeprowadzonej w starostwach powiatowych w województwie wielkopolskim nt. Stanu i możliwości rozwojowych powiatów województwa wielkopolskiego (2000) oraz Banku Danych Lokalnych Głównego Urzędu Statystycznego za rok 2010.
    The paper aims to evaluate the level of socioeconomic development of powiats (i.e. second level administrative units) in Wielkopolska province. With this purpose in mind a synthetic feature was utilized that aggregates simple features: partial indicators of socioeconomic development. The procedure of designing this feature used the generalized distance measure GDM to compute the distance from the ideal and anti-ideal points (Walesiak 1993, 2011), and TOPSIS method to aggregate the features (Hwang, Yoon 1981, Wysocki 2010). The measure of Walesiak (1993) facilitates calculating distances between features described on different scale types: ordinal, interval, or ratio, while TOPSIS is the standard method for aggregation of features. Proposed approach allows evaluating the level of socioeconomic development of powiats when expressed through simple features, both metric and ordinal. The evaluation process made use of the data gathered from the survey conducted in the powiat offices of the Wielkopolska province: “The present state and development potential of the powiats of Wielkopolska” (2000) and from the Local Data Bank of the Central Statistical Office report of 2010.
