Opis:
The speed of tow-plane fuzzy controller project was the primary goal. Nowadays, use of systems based on fuzzy logic in many fields is very common. The authors’ research were made with use of Matlab/Simulink® software and Fuzzy Logic Toolbox. Boeing 737 aircraft was scientific research object. The speed of tow-plane fuzzy controller project is dedicated to improve the towing car work and to increase a safety during aircraft towing procedures. The main system task is to control the towing speed (limit the maximum towing speed in specific conditions) dependent on aircraft front main landing gear angle of deflection and tow car control wheels. Additionally, system generates warnings for tow car driver (limiting towing speed) when aircraft main landing gear axis reach the safety position (limiting position). Reaching this safety position may cause the aircraft front main landing gear and tow car damage or, in the worst cases, accidents and human life danger. Despite the fact that the proposed solution is only initial analysis, it may increase towing cars drivers and all airfield environment safety. What is more, also aircraft towing process may be optimized by towing car speed control. Sample data values were used to present the system work. If the research results will be accepted, the project may be adapted to specific aviation solutions.

Opis:
An averaging tank with variable filling is a nonlinear multidimensional system and can thus be considered a complex control system. General control objectives of such object include ensuring stability, zero steady-state error, and achieving simultaneously shortest possible settling time and minimal overshoot. The main purpose of this research work was the modeling and synthesis of three control systems for an averaging tank. In order to achieve the intended purpose, in the first step, a mathematical model of the control system was derived. The model was adapted to the form required to design two out of three planned control systems by linearization and reduction of its dimensions, resulting in two system variants. A multivariable proportional-integral-derivative (PID) control system for the averaging tank was developed using optimization for tuning PID controllers. State feedback and output feedback with an integral action control system for the considered control system was designed using a linear-quadratic regulator (LQR) and optimization of weights. A fuzzy control system was designed using the Mamdani inference system. The developed control systems were tested using theMATLAB environment. Finally, the simulation results for each control algorithm (and their variants) were compared and their performance was assessed, as well as the effects of optimization in the case of PID and integral control (IC) systems.

We consider multistage optimal control of a fuzzy dynamic system under fuzzy constraints on controls and fuzzy goals on states in the setting of Bellman and Zadeh (1970) and Kacprzyk (1983, 1997). First, we present the solution by dynamic programming chich is a standard techniques in the class of problems considered. We indicato its limitations, mainly related to its inherent curse of dimensionality. We propose to replace the source problem by its auxiliary counterpart with a small number of reference fuzzy states and reference fuzzy controls, solve it by dynamic programming to obtain optimal reference control policies relating optimal reference fuzzy controls to reference fuzzy states. Then, we show the use of an interpolative reasoning approach to derive optimal fuzzy controls, not necessarily reference ones, for current fuzzy states, not necessarily reference ones.

Opis:
Model predictive control (MPC) algorithms are widely used in practical applications. They are usually formulated as optimization problems. If a model used for prediction is linear (or linearized on-line), then the optimization problem is a standard, i.e., quadratic, one. Otherwise, it is a nonlinear, in general, nonconvex optimization problem. In the latter case, numerical problems may occur during solving this problem, and the time needed to calculate control signals cannot be determined. Therefore, approaches based on linear or linearized models are preferred in practical applications. A novel, fuzzy, numerically efficient MPC algorithm is proposed in the paper. It can offer better performance than the algorithms based on linear models, and very close to that of the algorithms based on nonlinear optimization. Its main advantage is the short time needed to calculate the control value at each sampling instant compared with optimization-based numerical algorithms; it is a combination of analytical and numerical versions of MPC algorithms. The efficiency of the proposed approach is demonstrated using control systems of two nonlinear control plants: the first one is a chemical CSTR reactor with a van de Vusse reaction, and the second one is a pH reactor.

The purpose of this paper is to present a novel mechatronic system for gait re-education which consists of a body weight support system (BWS system) and a treadmill. This publication covers mainly issues related to the design and optimization process of a control algorithm dedicated for the unloading system. The proposed control system is based on a fuzzy logic controller coupled with a PID regulator. The optimization of parameters for regulators has been conducted based on numerical simulations in which a hybrid optimization method combining a genetic algorithm with a gradient algorithm has been used. The developed control system has been tested experimentally.

In the paper, an adaptive control MRAS-based structure for nonlinear two-mass system is proposed. The performance of the control structure is supported by additional compensator. After short introduction a mathematical model of the drive system is presented. In the plant, the additional nonlinearities such as friction and mechanical hysteresis are considered. Then the structure of the fuzzy system is shown. Contrary to the majority of papers the controller considered is based on the II type fuzzy sets. Then the simulation tests showing performance of the proposed structure are presented. The drive is tested at different operation points, including low-speed region where friction plays dominant role. A comparison of classical PI controller with antiwindup and the proposed structure is presented. Then laboratory set-up with DC motor is described briefly. Experimental results are included in the paper. It is shown that the torsional vibrations of two-mass system are damped effectively. The impact of the existing delays of system is discussed. A summary is given at the end of the paper.

The arithmetic of PID control is simple and the stability of it is good. However, the dynamic characteristics of PID control are poor. The fuzzy logic control method is flexible and adaptive. It does not rely on a mathematical model of the system and can deal with the nonlinearity of parameters and uncertain problems. However, the stability of fuzzy logic control is poor. In this paper, fuzzy logic control combined with PID control is applied to a two-stage vibration isolation system to improve the vibration isolation effectiveness. Simulation results show that the method is effective.
W pracy zaprezentowano rodzaj kombinacji metody logiki rozmytej z regulatorem PID zastosowanej do dwustopniowego układu izolacji drgań. Przeprowadzone symulacje pokazały efektywność takiego podejścia.

In this contribution, a control scheme based on multi input multi output Fuzzy Sliding Mode control (MIMOFSMC) for linear speed regulation of multi-motors system is proposed. Once the decoupled model of the multi- motors system is obtained, a smooth control function with a threshold was chosen to indicate how far the state from to the sliding surface is. However, the magnitude of this control function depends closely on the upper bound of uncertainties, and this generates chattering. So, this magnitude has to be chosen with great care to obtain high performances. Usually the upper bound of uncertainties is difficult to known before motor operation, so, a Fuzzy Sliding Mode controller is investigated to solve this difficulty; a simple Fuzzy inference mechanism is used to reduce the chattering phenomenon by simple adjustments. A simulation study is carried out and shows that the proposed controller has great potential for use as an alternative to the conventional sliding mode contro.

Dual-mode fuzzy dynamic matrix control (fuzzy DMC-FDMC) algorithms with guaranteed nominal stability for constrained nonlinear plants are presented. The algorithms join the advantages of fuzzy Takagi-Sugeno modeling and the predictive dual-mode approach in a computationally efficient version. Thus, they can bring an improvement in control quality compared with predictive controllers based on linear models and, at the same time, control performance similar to that obtained using more demanding algorithms with nonlinear optimization. Numerical effectiveness is obtained by using a successive linearization approach resulting in a quadratic programming problem solved on-line at each sampling instant. It is a computationally robust and fast optimization problem, which is important for on-line applications. Stability is achieved by appropriate introduction of dual-mode type stabilization mechanisms, which are simple and easy to implement. The effectiveness of the proposed approach is tested on a control system of a nonlinear plant-a distillation column with basic feedback controllers.

For many adaptive noise control systems the Filtered-Reference LMS, known as the FXLMS algorithm is used to update parameters of the control filter. Appropriate adjustment of the step size is then important to guarantee convergence of the algorithm, obtain small excess mean square error, and react with required rate to variation of plant properties or noise nonstationarity. There are several recipes presented in the literature, theoretically derived or of heuristic origin. This paper focuses on a modification of the FXLMS algorithm, were convergence is guaranteed by changing sign of the algorithm steps size, instead of using a model of the secondary path. A Takagi-Sugeno-Kang fuzzy inference system is proposed to evaluate both the sign and the magnitude of the step size. Simulation experiments are presented to validate the algorithm and compare it to the classical FXLMS algorithm in terms of convergence and noise reduction.
