The present article concerns the question of the formulas which both religion and magic use. Although even if they often sound identical, their understanding and their role are radically different. The article consists of four parts. The first part provides examples of Christian magical papyri dating from the first centuries, which show the use of both the New Testament as well as the terms and dogmatic formulas in the magical texts. The second part gives examples of the Fathers of the Eastern and the Western Church in their common criticism of magic. The third part examines differences in the understanding of dogmatic formulas between Christianity and magic. Finally, conclusions of ecumenical character are formulated.
Artykuł podejmuje problematykę formuł, którymi posługuje się religia i magia. Choć niejednokrotnie brzmią one identycznie, to jednak ich rozumienie i rola są diametralnie różne. Artykuł składa się z czterech części. W pierwszej są podane przykłady chrześcijańskich papirusów magicznych z pierwszych wieków, które rejestrują wykorzystanie zarówno Nowego Testamentu, jak i terminów i formuł dogmatycznych w formułach magicznych. Druga przywołuje ojców Kościoła Wschodu i Zachodu w ich wspólnej krytyce magii. W trzeciej zaprezentowane są różnice w rozumieniu formuł dogmatycznych między chrześcijaństwem a magią. Na koniec sformułowane zostały wnioski o charakterze ekumenicznym.

Artykuł zawiera opis podstawowych operacji algebraicznych jakie można stosować w algorytmice. Przedstawiono kilka prostych przykładów ilustrujących możliwości i aplikacje tematyki. Każda operacja została odzwierciedlona w języku C, bądź została porównana z odpowiadającym jej schematem blokowym.
Algebra of algorithms is a form of mathematical description of an algorithm. The algorithm described in form of formulas can be subjected to algebraic operations and transformations. Properties of these operations are defined in an axiomatic way. The mathematic description of the algorithm is simple, intuitive, and allows to subsequent automatic generation of program code. The main advantage of such approach is possibility to analyze the algorithm at any level of nesting. Some functions (blocks) the algorithm can be treated as uniterms, thus one can look into what happens inside them. A description of basic algebraic operations that can be applied in the study of algorithm operations is presented in the paper. It has been quoted two of the most elementary examples in order to better acquaint with the subject. Each operation is reflected in the C language, and is compared with the corresponding block diagram. Langton algorithm is analyzed as well as the function approximation algorithm for finding the 3-rd order polynomial. These algorithms are described and presented in the form of block diagrams as well as using formulas of algebra algorithms.

Tekst jest krytyczną analizą zagadnienia, poszerzoną o analogie. To studium przypadku. Celem autora jest wskazanie, iż dla zrozumienia myśli Adama Michnika niezbędne jest sięgnięcie do podstaw jego poglądów. Owe podstawy zakotwiczone są w poglądach Leszka Kołakowskiego. Tę zależność widać w książce Kościół, lewica, dialog, w której Michnik stosuje figury kapłana i błazna. Ten swoisty antagonizm Michnik chce (wbrew Kołakowskiemu) przezwyciężyć. Interpelacja koła poselskiego Znak wskazała nową linię podziału. Zamiast linii: prawica-lewica, zaistniał podział na przeciwników i zwolenników totalitaryzmu. Apogeum dialogu to okres świetności Solidarności. Kościół triumfujący zerwał dialog. Michnik, podążając za Kołakowskim, powtarza tezę o potrzebie obrony kultury przed upadkiem. Mając na uwadze tę potrzebę, postawy (szczególnie autentyczne – kapłan i błazen) muszą być łagodzone. W życiu wspólnotowym bardzo użyteczna jest nieautentyczność.
This text is an evaluative analysis of the issue which is broaden by analogies. It is a case study whose purpose is to show that it is essential to reach the fundamentals of Michnik’s beliefs in order to understand them. They have their roots in Kołakowski’s beliefs. It can be seen in a book entitled “Church, the Left, dialogue” where Michnik employs the figures of a priest and a clown. In defiance of Kołakowski, he wants to break that peculiar antagonism. The interpellation of private member’s club “Znak” indicated a new division. Instead of the Right and the Left, there was a division into supporters and opponents of totalitarianism. The glory years of Solidarity Movement is a crescendo of the dialogue. The triumphant church broke off the dialogue. Michnik repeats after Kołakowski that the culture must be protected in order not to fall. Being mindful of this need, some tones (especially those authentic ones – of a priest and a clown) must be tempered. In a community life inauthenticity is really useful.

This paper presents methods of calculating fractional differ-integrals numerically. We discuss extensively the pros and cons of applying the Riemann-Liouville formula, as well as direct approach in form of The Grünwald-Letnikov method. We take closer look at the singularity, which appears when using classical form of Riemann-Liouville formula. To calculate Riemann-Liouville differ-integral we use very well-known techniques like The Newton-Cotes Midpoint Rule. We also use two Gauss formulas. By implementing transformation of the core integrand of Riemann-Liouville formula (we called it “the inverse transformation”), we would like to point the possible way of reducing errors when calculating it. The core of this paper is the subject of reducing the absolute error when calculating Riemann-Liouville differ-integrals of some elementary functions; we use our own C++ programs to calculate them and compare obtained results of all methods with, where possible, exact values, where not – with values obtained using excellent method of integration incorporated in Mathematica. We will not discuss complexity of numerical calculations. We will focus solely on minimization of the absolute errors.

Przedmiotem opisu i analizy są występujące w epistolografii XVIII wieku formuły gestyczne, czyli językowe ekwiwalenty określonych gestów i zachowań grzecznościowych. Zakres obserwacji został zawężony do formuł gestycznych sytuowanych w zakończeniach listów. Materiał egzemplifikacyjny pochodzi z trzystu pięciu rękopiśmiennych, niepublikowanych i dotąd nieanalizowanych pod tym kątem listów, pisanych przez kilkudziesięciu autorów, przedstawicieli szlachty i magnaterii. W zgromadzonym materiale wystąpiły typowe dla XVIII wieku struktury formuliczne, takie jak np. upadać do nóg, ściskać nogi czy kłaniać uniżenie, ale też wiele innych, mniej rozpowszechnionych, np. brać śmiałość upaść do nóg. Sposób użycia opisywanych formuł determinowały określone uwarunkowania tekstowe, społeczne i chronologiczne. Postać formalna formuły zależała od miejsca w strukturze listu, tj. od tego, czy formuła występowała w kompleksie formuł finalnych, czy jako osobny dopisek z pozdrowieniami (niektóre formuły występowały tylko w dopiskach, np. kłaniać uniżenie). Na kształt językowy formuły oddziaływały też czynniki społeczne, np. formuły w listach do króla charakteryzowały się znaczną ozdobnością. Zakres stosowania niektórych konstrukcji znacząco poszerzył się w ciągu XVIII wieku, co wiązało się z osłabieniem ich elitarnego charakteru.
The description and analysis focus on the formulae referring to gesticulations, or expressive bodily movements, i.e. the linguistic equivalents of certain polite gestures and behaviours, in 18th-century epistolography. The scope of research has been narrowed down to the gesticulation-related formulae present in the closing part of a letter. The sample material consists of 305 handwritten letters, which have not been published or analysed in this context until now. They were written by several dozen authors, members of the nobility and magnates. The material collected for this paper includes certain typical 18th-century formulaic structures, such as upadać do nóg [to throw oneself at another’s feet], ściskać nogi [to hug another’s legs] or kłaniać uniżenie [to bow humbly] as well as less common phrases e.g. brać śmiałość upaść do nóg [to dare to throw oneself at another’s feet]. The manner in which the described formulae were used was determined by specific textual, social and chronological circumstances. The formal shape of a formula depended on its location within the letter structure, i.e. if the formula was a part of the set of the closing formulae or a separate postscript with greetings (some formulae occurred only in postscripts e.g. kłaniać uniżenie [to bow humbly]). The linguistic shape of a formula was also influenced by the social component e.g. formulae in letters to the king were more ornamental. Some structures gained a much broader scope of application across the 18th century, which was related to the weakening of its elitist character.

W artykule przedstawiono budowę złożonego komputerowego systemu do przekształceń formuł algorytmów przy wykorzystaniu właściwości operacji algebry algorytmów. Budowany model systemu nazwano komputerowym systemem optymalizacji (KSO) i dokonano jego dekompozycji na dwóch poziomach, poziomie systemu i podsystemu. Na poziomie systemu w logiczny sposób wyodrębniono podsystemy pełniące oraz wspomagające zadania optymalizacji formuł algorytmów, a na poziomie podsystemu utworzono unitermy zmienne i funkcyjne. Dla opisania modelu systemu wykorzystano algebrę algorytmów. Fragment modelu systemu zaimplementowano w języku C#.
The model of algorithm algebra formulae optimization system is presented in the paper. The decomposition of the system into subsystems is performed using algebra algorithm expressions, and is described in terms of the expressions. The following algorithm algebra operation optimization subsystem models are formed: sequencing, elimination, parallelization, reversing, cycle operations, basic subsystem, subsystem introducing additional condition, subsystem rendering data accessible, and the one generating indices for xml code of algorithm formula. The basic subsystem model and the rendering data accessible one in the 3rd section there are described. Algorithm algebra expressions there are used consistently. Models are composed of variables and functional uniterms, which are also used by other subsystems. Variables are used for the data storage. Functional uniterms of the basic subsystem there are the following: extracting, substituting the xml code fragment, checking the separator kind in the uniterm, as well as the one checking if the uniterm is a number. Additionally there are included functional uniterms absorbing other uniterms, and the one informing on optimization process run. The basic and rendering data models are implemented in C# . In conclusions some advantages of both the algorithm formula optimization computer system and model decomposition into subsystem are given. Bibliography contains a set of intuitive and formal works describing the algorithms algebra.

Wiele studiów i analiz współczesności wskazuje na edukację jako szansę „naprawy” przyszłości. Wiele krajów pokazuje, że jej priorytetowe zadania na skali ważnych innych zadań państwa przynoszą wymierne rezultaty. Spory oscylują wokół takiej jej formuły, która umożliwiałaby przysposabianie młodych ludzi do podjęcia (skutecznego indywidualnie i wspólnotowo) nowych cywilizacyjnie zadań i wyzwań. Polska edukacja póki co rozpięta jest pomiędzy uporczywym trwaniem w nakazowo-rozdzielczej jej formule (tu: metafora ślepca) i/a pojawiającymi się koncepcjami uwalniania dzieci/uczniów/studentów od zbyt rozbudowanego encyklopedyzmu i nadzorowania ich działania (tu: metafora wędrowca). W tle tego dyskursu/dyskusji/sporów pojawia się, choć na razie nieśmiało, mgliście (tu: metafora sowy) projekt edukacji stawiającej na wydobywanie mądrości człowieka i jej spokojnego potęgowania. Szansa na jego rozbudowanie i urzeczywistnienie ukryta jest w mądrości działania dorosłych na rzecz przyszłości (tu: metafora stołu mądrości). Czy się spełni?
Various studies and investigations of our contemporary society point out education as the chance to „mend” or „fix” our future. As the example of various countries show, measurable positive effects can be achieved if education is treated seriously and as a priority. It is, however, not easy to find a consensus how to best incite young persons to take on civilizational challenges and chores our future has in store for us and tackle them successfully- be it individually or collectively. Polish educational models oscillate between two opposites. On the one end we see the stubborn insistence on a traditional coercive-paternalistic model ( thence the image of the „blind man”), and various liberal concepts that strive to liberate students of all ages from exaggerated encyclopedizm and supervision and limitation of their actions and independence (hence the metaphor of the „Wanderer”) . On the backdrop of these discussions/ arguments and disputes a third concept can be seen emerging, reluctantly, a little blurred still, but yet present (the image of the owl presents itself). It is an educational scheme targeted on the achievement of human wisdom and its gradual exponentiation. Whether this model has a chance to develop and mature depends on the care and circumspection of those who feel the responsibility for our common future (The „Table of Wisdom”). Will it have a chance to come true?

Analysis of formulae of algebra algorithms (AA) written in xml - format is described in the paper. A specific editor uses the xml - format for AA formulae writing to and reading from the computer memory. The xml – format contains operation types, operation orientations, operation uniterm separation, and AA operation uniterms. There are shown features of algorithm formula transforms, the result of which are 5 times shorter algorithms while saving all algorithm functionalities.
Istniejąca algebra algorytmów (AA) zawiera specjalne znaki operacji, jakich nie ma wśród znaków matematycznych. Znaki mają skomplikowane formy. Znaki operacji mogą być stworzone z wykorzystaniem istniejących edytorów, takich jak na przykład Word. Jednak proces ich tworzenia jest bardzo skomplikowany i czasochłonny. Z tego powodu dla komputerowego edytowania formuł algebry algorytmów został stworzony specjalny edytor, którego główne okienko przedstawiono na rys.1. Dla zapisu formuł algebry algorytmów w pamięci komputera został stworzony specjalny format xml. Opisano format xml, służący do zapisu formuł algebry algorytmów do pamięci komputera. Zbudowano dwie formuły do analizy formatu xml, wykorzystane do identyfikacji i zapisu typów, orientacji i separatorów oraz unitermów operacji algebry algorytmów. Udowodniono, że te formuły umożliwiają wykonanie analizy formatu xml. Pokazano możliwości przekształcenia formuł algorytmów. W wyniku przekształceń możliwe jest 5 – krotne zmniejszenie liczby unitermów, przy zachowaniu wszystkich funkcjonalności formuły algorytmu.

Opis:
To determine the volume of felled trees, dendrometric formulas are used that are the product of a specific cross-section and the length of a dendrometric solid. In order to apply these formulas on a larger scale, it is essential to know their accuracy. Most of the research on the accuracy of dendrometric formulas has been carried out using Scots pine with other tree species, including European larch Larix decidua Mill., often being overlooked. The aim of this study was to assess the accuracy of eight common dendrometric formulas for stems of European larch without bark. The research material consisted of 290 larch stems from two forest districts (Pińczów and Prudnik), representing trees from age classes II to V and older. The following formulas were observed to be highly accurate: Huber’s, French, Hossfeld’s, Gieruszynski’s and the two-halfs formula. Huber’s formula provided the mean value of percentage errors closest to zero (0.8%) and was the most accurate for- mula, whereas the two-halfs formula, showed the lowest variability of percentage errors (standard deviation 3.1%). However, all formulas tended to generate systematic errors with the merchant’s and two-halfs formulas underestimating the volume, while the others overestimated the volume. Most of the formulas ́ accuracy was uniform across the different age classes with the exception of the Smalian’s and Rieckie- -Newton’s formulas, that were significantly less accurate when applied to the V and older age classes, and the merchant’s formu- la, characterized by greater accuracy in the V and older age classes. Pair-wise comparisons of the formulas ́ accuracy revealed significant differences between most of the analyzed pairs of formulas though no differences were found between the French and Gieruszynski, French and Hossfeld, Gieruszynski and Hossfeld, Gieruszynski and Huber formulas as well as between the Hossfeld and Huber formulas.

Rewitalizacja terenów miejskich w różnych regionach Europy odbywa się już ponad 30 lat, natomiast w Polsce prowadzona jest od ponad 15 lat. Postawiono następujące pytania badawcze: W jaki sposób można ocenić skuteczność procesu rewitalizacji przeprowadzonego w konkretnej lokalizacji? Od czego zależy powodzenie przyjętego sposobu postępowania w realizacji programów rewitalizacji? Czy można dla rewitalizacji przyjąć uniwersalny parametryczny system monitorowania prowadzonego procesu? Na podstawie przeglądu dotychczas zrealizowanych działań rewitalizacyjnych w miastach na całym świecie zidentyfikowano i przeanalizowano wykorzystane metody oceny procesu rewitalizacji. W konkluzji zaproponowano nowe ujęcie pozwalające zidentyfikować skuteczność, nazwane formułą ewaluacyjną rewitalizacji.  
The revitalization of urban areas in different European regions has been held for over 30 years, while in Poland it is carried out with varying intensity in the regions for over 15 years. Following research questions were formulated: How is it possible to evaluate the effectiveness of the revitalization process carried out in a specific location? What determines the success of the method of the implementation of revitalization programs? Is it possible to prepare the set of universal parameters which constitute the monitoring system of the process? Based on the overview of revitalization projects realized in cities world wide the identification and analysis of the evaluation methods used for the process has been carried out. In conclusion, the new approach to the revitalization evaluation has been proposed which allows to identify its effectiveness, called revitalization evaluation formula.

The paper discusses a new instrument for the implementation of territorial policies expected to be used in the EU financial perspective 2014-2020. This tool helps integrate activities in local government units from various subregions. ITS applications are in many cases considered as projects that require consistent and complementary activities in order to ensure that a common vision of development of local governments involved in a project is realized. The article identifies the areas of ITS which can be the subject of integrated territorial investments (ITI).

The article refers to the challenges for the logistics which comes together with the organization of big sports events. The article is based on the example of the most demanding discipline which is Formula 1. It is here, where besides the latest technologies and the best drivers in the world, the latest methods of managements are applied as well as modern logistics techniques. New ideas of modern logistics were born in this highly demanding field. The logistics issues will be followed by very important aspects in preparing to the season, the race, and the qualifying that is the analysis of telemetric data, which is transferred from the car to the garage every time the car is on track.

Siew rzędowy nasion oceniono wykorzystując formułę matematyczną, stosowaną między innymi do oceny równomierności rozsiewu nawozów i rozproszonego siewu zbóż. Uzyskane wyniki badań wskazują na możliwość wykorzystania zastosowanej formuły matematycznej od oceny rzędowego siewu nasion. W badaniach wykazano, że dawka nasion i prędkość siewnika nie wpływają na równomierność rzędowego siewu nasion pszenicy.
Seed drilling was estimated using a mathematical formula applied, among other, to determine the uniformity of fertilizer distribution and dispersed grain drilling.The results of investigations indicate that the above formula can be used for seed drilling evaluation. It was found that the uniformity of wheat drilling was not affected by seed dose or drill speed.

Celem tego artykułu było ukazanie istoty logistyki w Formule 1, na praktycznym przykładzie wyzwania – potrójnego weekendu wyścigowego. Opisano logistyczne czynności podejmowane w celu przygotowania toru w Monako. Znaczenie logistyki i logistycznych procesów znacząco wzrosło od czasu początku Formuły 1. Jest to efekt zwiększenia ilości wyścigów w sezonie oraz organizacji Grand Prix na torach całego świata. W celu obsługi łańcucha dostaw, każdy z zespołów zatrudnia logistycznych koordynatorów, którzy zajmują się poprawnym działaniem łańcucha dostaw. Zespoły oraz zarząd Formuły 1 korzystają dodatkowo z usług oficjalnego partnera logistycznego tej serii wyścigowej, jakim jest DHL. Współpraca ta trwa od 2004 r., a w 2021 r. zawarto kolejny, wieloletni kontrakt. Więcej wyścigów w sezonie sprawia, że wyścigi odbywają się z coraz większą częstotliwością, co wymaga organizacji skomplikowanego przedsięwzięcia logistycznego, jakim jest triple header, czyli wyścigi w 3 kolejne weekendy. Wyzwanie to wymaga znacznej precyzji oraz zaangażowania, ponieważ cały ekwipunek musi zostać przetransportowany najczęściej do odległej lokalizacji następnego wyścigu w przeciągu zaledwie 2 dni.
The aim of this article was to show an importance of logistics in Formula 1 on the practical example – triple header. Logistic activities taken in order to prepare a race circuit in Monaco were also described. The importance of logistics and logistic processes have grown significantly since the beginning of Formula 1. This is the result of increasing the number of races in a single season and organizing Grand Prix on tracks around the world. In order to handle the supply chain, each team employs logistic coordinators who ensure the supply chain works properly. In addition, teams and Formula 1 management benefit from the cooperation with DHL which is the official logistics partner of this racing series since 2004 and will be in the next few years. More races in the single season means that races take place more frequently which requires the organization of a complicated logistical challenge, such as triple header – races on 3 consecutive weekends. This challenge equals to high precision and commitment, because equipment has to be transported in just 2 days to a location of the next race which often is remote.

In this paper I present, analyse, criticise and expand on the concept of interpretational invariants created by Michael Heller. I argue that Heller in fact holds two separate views of interpretational invariants and that in the context of his writings they should be, in fact, hold jointly. I propose a critique of one of those views, that in which one claims that there exist interpretational invariants across different mathematical representations of a theory. This leads me to propose a modified version of interpretational invariants, which are relativised, but not reduced, to mathematical formulations of a certain theory.
