The main purpose of this article is to present the structure of a tactical air force, on the example of the Polish Tactical Air Force, in a form of a technical system. This kind of technical system presents the technical point of view and organizationally bonds currently existing systems, objects (facilities) and components that are included into the Polish Tactical Air Force. The authors consider the Polish Tactical Air Force as the main analyses domain of this article. The model of presented system is mainly focused on operators’ organization and operation system of military aircraft, which are considered as technical objects (facilities) in a tactical air force. At the beginning of this article, the Polish Tactical Air Force is placed in more complex systemic structures. Then, the authors use the systems methodology, systems engineering, technical object-oriented (facility-oriented) approach and the matrix of the Model of Generalized Technical System to describe the Tactical Air Force System and present it via the model of such a system. The following model is based on a tree-shaped scheme divided into five levels of decomposition. The Model of Tactical Air Force System (as the “final product” of authors’ considerations over the selected analyses domain) has a considerable contribution to systems’ development in the Polish Armed Forces. The above-mentioned systems’ development could lead to greater progress in the Polish military as well as in systemic ideas. The implementation of the systems methodology in the design process of a new system, performed in a tactical air force, is an example of technical object systems engineering.

Opis:
The Tactical Aircraft Operating System (a system for tactical aircraft operational usage) constitutes the main research area of this paper. The authors present this system via an innovative model for an anthropotechnical system in the format of an aggregated analysis domain. This model constitutes a detailed explication of a fragment of the existing Tactical Air Force System metamodel at the level that concerns tactical aircraft operation systems. The aggregated analysis domain for tactical aircraft operations is built on seven single-analysis domain, each of which includes a series of processes, operations and events, related to the airman’s aviation activities cycle, what happens during an air mission and when an aircraft operating cycle is carried out. The subsequent individual analysis domains are connected to each other by an airman-aircraft anthropotechnical pair. The introduced method of modelling the Tactical Aircraft Operating System ensures the desired generality, comprehensiveness, coherence and transparency of such a model, which allows for its implementation in various types of tactical aircraft and tactical air force bases. In principle, within the presented considerations, the model is described in relation to a single aircraft operating cycle, which is carried out by one airman during a single air mission. However, the authors have taken care when creating this model structure, so that its implementation in more complex aircraft operating cycles (more than one aircraft and one airman) is possible. Apart from the analysis domains (“before take-off”, “departure”, “air task”, “arrival”, “after landing”), which are closely related to the essential aircraft operations, the model also includes the analysis domains associated with air mission preparations and summaries. The model for the Tactical Aircraft Operating System is described by the authors in textual form, as well as in tabular form. The presented concept constitutes an attempt to formally notate the Tactical Aircraft Operating System model, in which each of the individual analysis domains can be treated as an area of interest for hazard risk management processes within the Tactical Air Force System.

Purpose: The plane 2d model and 3d finite element model of the headgear attached to two molars with different mesio-distal location are studied to show the asymmetric mechanical effects produced by symmetrically loaded headgear. In daily dental practice the asymmetrical location of molars is usually ignored. Methods: Six 3D finite element models of a symmetric cervical headgear were designed in SolidWorks 2011. The models showed symmetric molar position (model 1), 0.5 to 2 mm of anterior-posterior molar difference (models 2-5) and a significant asymmetry with 10 mm of difference in the locations (model 6). The head gear was loaded with 3N of force applied at the cervical headgear. The forces and moments produced on terminal molars are assessed. Results: It is shown the difference between the forces acting at the longer and shorter outer arms of the headgear increases with increase in the distance. The significant numeric difference in the forces has been found: from 0.0082 N (model 1) to 0.0324 N (model 5) and 0.146 N (model 6). These small forces may produce unplanned distal tipping and rotation of the molars around their vertical axes. The most important funding was found as a clockwise yaw moment in the system when is viewed superio-inferiorly. The yaw moment has been computed between -0.646 N•mm (model 1) and -1.945 N•mm (model 5). Conclusions: Therefore even small asymmetry in location of molars loaded by a symmetric cervical headgear will produce undesirable move-ment and rotation of the teeth that must be taken into account before applying the treatment.

The article gives an account of the results of the constructed generalized mathematical model of fixation of cargo with pads jointly with flexible and thrust fas-tening elements. Developed for the first time the generalized mathematical model of collat-eral fixation of cargo with padding by flexible and thrust elements made it possible to iden-tify the conditions providing workability of thrust bars together with pre twisted fastening wires and cargo pads. It should be emphases that it is only when these conditions are not fulfilled that elastic forces of flexible fastening elements are engaged in work on retaining cargo from shifting. The distinguishing characteristics of generalized model under the action of spatial force system as compared to specific models is manifested in its ability to provide workability of flexible fastening elements together with thrust bars and cargo pads according to the criterion of normative value of longitudinal (or lateral) load on a fastening component and allowable pressing tension of the most loaded of the used pads. The investigation results concerning cargo transported by and unprovided for in Specification [3] are now available for researchers and can be looked upon as a new stage in the development of this problem.

The article gives an account of the results of generalized fastening mathematical modeling of cargo asymmetrically allocated both lengthwise and crosswise the wagon during the rolling stock movement on a curve under the exposure to the spatial force system. On the basis of the particular case of spatial modeling it is possible to obtain mathematical and dynamic fastening models under separate exposures to lengthwise and vertical, crosswise and vertical forces.

The article gives an account of the results of working out a generalized dynamic model of fixation of cargo with pads jointly with flexible and thrust elements. Working out a generalized dynamic model of cargo fixation is rather a complicated problem not in the sense of solving differential equations systems but in the sense of presenting them as a complex mechanical system “cargo – pads – flexible elements – thrust bars”. Generalized dynamic model of cargo with pads observed that this model represents technology of joint work of flexible and thrust fastening means of cargo on rolling stock. In particular, on the basis of this model there can be obtained the technology models of joint work of flexible and elastic fastening means of cargo without pads of fastening flexible elements of cargo with pads without thrust bars and also flexible fastening elements of cargo without pads and thrust bars at asymmetrical and/or symmetrical allocation of cargo in the wagon. A specific feature (novelty feature) of the proposed dynamic model is inclusion into the model of both cargo pads and thrust bars which are nailed to the wagon floor close to the butt and lateral sides of cargo.

The article is dedicated to a low cost system for setting input functions in material tests in low, constant and periodically alternating loads. The paper presents all elements of the created system, the results of verification, and an example of system application for a paper-testing machine. When compared to the classic systems for this type of task, the developed system is characterised by a simple and cheap construction, and it also allows one to obtain good functional and metrological parameters, which enables it to be applied in testing machines, especially for testing the fatigue resistance of such materials as plastics, film, paper, and textiles.
W artykule opisano niskokosztowy układ do zadawania wymuszeń w testach materiałowych, w warunkach małych obciążeń stałych i okresowo zmiennych. Przedstawiono elementy składowe opracowanego układu, wyniki badań weryfikacyjnych oraz przykładową aplikację w testerze wyrobów papierniczych. W porównaniu z klasycznymi układami realizującymi takie zadania opracowany układ charakteryzuje się prostotą budowy i niskimi kosztami wykonania, zapewniając jednocześnie uzyskiwanie dobrych parametrów funkcjonalnych i metrologicznych. Umożliwia to stosowanie go w urządzeniach testujących, szczególnie do badań wytrzymałości zmęczeniowej takich materiałów, jak: tworzywa sztuczne, folie, wyroby papiernicze czy włókiennicze.

Celem artykułu jest zaprezentowanie analizy funkcjonalności systemu dowodzenia sił powietrznych w aspekcie narodowym i sojuszniczym. Autorzy artykułu szczególną uwagę skupili na wykazaniu mankamentów systemu dowodzenia siłami powietrznymi w czasie pokoju, kryzysu i wojny, zwłaszcza w toku realizacji zadań na rzecz systemu bezpieczeństwa narodowego. Dlatego też w treści artykułu przedstawiono dogłębną analizę funkcjonowania stanowisk dowodzenia jednostek sił powietrznych na wszystkich poziomach organizacyjnych, od Dowództwa Sił Powietrznych RP, do szczebla pododdziału, wskazując na problemy kompetencyjne i funkcjonalne w toku realizacji zadań. W części końcowej artykułu zaprezentowano potencjalne zadania sił powietrznych w systemie bezpieczeństwa narodowego, wskazując na uwarunkowania ich realizacji wynikające z systemu dowodzenia.
This article aims to present the analysis of functionality of the air force command system in national and allied aspects. The authors have focused attention on demonstrating the shortcomings of the air force command systems in times of peace, crisis and war, especially in the course of implementation of tasks for the national security system. Therefore, the article presents an in-depth analysis of the functioning of the command posts of the air force at all organizational levels, from the air force command down to the squadron level, pointing to competency and functional problems during the implementation of tasks. The final part of the article presents a potential missions of the air force in the national security system, indicating the conditions related to the command system.

The article is dedicated to a universal model force control system for small static loads. The requirements and the hardware configuration of the control system are presented. The authors also describe basic algorithms for controlling research processes, including issues related to force adjustment such as the automatic force loading and its measurement, the manual force exertion and its measurement, the automatic movement of the object, measuring of the force exerted on the object, as well as archiving and processing the measurement data. The exemplary results of verification tests were presented. Additionally, the possibility to analyse and archive the measurement data of the system is also shown. Finally, the authors describe other examples of applications of the developed control system.
W artykule opisano modelowy uniwersalny układ regulacji siły do małych obciążeń statycznych. Przedstawiono wymagania oraz konfigurację sprzętową układu regulacji. Podano podstawowe algorytmy sterowania procesami badawczymi obejmujące zagadnienia związane z regulacją siły, takie jak: automatyczne wywieranie siły i jej pomiar, manualne wywieranie siły i jej pomiar, automatyczne przemieszczanie badanego obiektu i pomiar siły wywieranej na obiekt oraz archiwizacja i przetwarzanie danych pomiarowych. Przedstawiono przykładowe wyniki z badań weryfikacyjnych, zaprezentowano możliwość analizy i archiwizacji danych pomiarowych układu oraz podano inne przykłady zastosowań opracowanego układu regulacji.

UAVs in recent times have achieved an increased rate of development, and hence, can cover a large spectrum of missions. Based on the dimensions, we can find UAVs from large dimensions used to operate at the global level through mini UAVs used inside buildings. The large UAVs are operated almost like a manned aircraft. For this reason, it uses the airport infrastructure and a runway for take-off and landing. The mini UAVs can be launched by hand. Between these two extremes, there is a category of UAVs used at the tactical level, which cannot be launched by hand and is not possible to build a runaway. These UAVs are launched using RATO (rocket-assisted take-off) or catapults. To improve the launch system, this should have a few moving parts to reduce maintenance costs and be powered by electric energy to be easily integrated into the automatic control loop. This paper presents a new design of a launch catapult based on electromagnetic energy for tactical UAVs. This technology is under development to launch projectiles with high velocity; however, it has theoretically proved the possibility to equally launch UAVs. The second part presents the theoretical approach necessary to find the expression of force under certain approximation for electromagnetic launch system design.

Determination of the physico-chemical interactions between liquid and solid substances is a key technological factor in many industrial processes in metallurgy, electronics or the aviation industry, where technological processes are based on soldering/brazing technologies. Understanding of the bonding process, reactions between materials and their dynamics enables to make research on new materials and joining technologies, as well as to optimise and compare the existing ones. The paper focuses on a wetting force measurement method and its practical implementation in a laboratory stand – an integrated platform for automatic wetting force measurement at high temperatures. As an example of using the laboratory stand, an analysis of Ag addition to Cu-based brazes, including measurement of the wetting force and the wetting angle, is presented.

The paper deals with the magnetic system of the disk separator with permanent magnets. It is shown that the developed magnetic system can be used to purify finely dispersed friable substances from unwanted ferromagnetic inclusions. The main advantage of the magnetic system is the ability to self-clean the surface of a non-magnetic rotating discharging disk. The research of the distribution of the force function acting on multi-domain ferromagnetic particles in the working zone of the disk separator was carried out. To solve the main tasks of the study, a finite element method was implemented, realized in the COMSOL Multiphysics software environment. It is shown that when changing the air gap or the effective length of the poles, the distribution of the force function over the height of the working zone, as well as the magnitude of force, varies. The rational size of the air interpolar gap, which provides the maximum value of power force, was determined.

Zeolite can effectively regulate the nutrient status in the root zone of crops, thereby increasing nitrogen utilization. However, there has been relatively little research conducted concerning a possible reduction in the frequency of nitrogen application due to the sustained-release properties of zeolite. In this study, 157.5 kg ha-1 nitrogen in the form of urea fertilizer was applied at the same rate, either as a one-time application or as a 3-way split application with and without 10 t ha-1 zeolite. The effects on rice yield, nitrogen uptake, root morphology and soil properties were evaluated in 2014 and 2015. Results showed that zeolite could enhance the biomass, leaf area index and nitrogen uptake. A higher rice grain yield and nitrogen uptake following soil treatment with zeolite could be attributed to a higher soil cation exchange capacity as well as nitrogen and potassium availability in the soil especially during the vegetative period of the rice plant. The addition of nitrogen to the soil as a one-time application or 3-way split application with 10 t ha-1 zeolite significantly increased rice grain yield by 8.5 or 10.7% compared with nitrogen as a one-time application without zeolite. Zeolite addition greatly improved the development of root morphology and activity compared with treatments without zeolite, which contributed to additional plant growth. The addition of nitrogen to the soil with 10 t ha-1 zeolite as a one-time application that can significantly increase nutrient retention is recommended to improve rice grain yield and decrease nitrogen application frequencies in order to lower both labour forces and energy requirements.
