System przytwierdzenia sprężystego szyn do podkładów jest bardzo odpowiedzialnym elementem w budowie drogi szynowej. W artykule omówiono charakterystykę pracy systemu przytwierdzenia typu SB oraz przedstawiono wyniki analizy wpływu zastosowania różnych rodzajów przekładek podszynowych na pracę całego mocowania oraz jego trwałość eksploatacyjną. Stwierdzono, że dobór przekładki podszynowej w zależności od zastosowanej łapki sprężystej ma kluczowy wpływ na trwałość systemu i zapewnienie odpowiedniego mocowania szyny.
Rail fastening system is a very responsible part in constructing a railway track. The article describes the characteristics of SB fastening system performance and presents the analysis of the influence derived from under rail pads for the performance of the whole fastening system and its reliability. It has been stated that an accurate selection of under rail pad depending on the used rail clip has a key importance for high durability of the system and ensuring a correct fixing of the rail.

Opis:
The article gives an account of the results of the constructed generalized mathematical model of fixation of cargo with pads jointly with flexible and thrust fas-tening elements. Developed for the first time the generalized mathematical model of collat-eral fixation of cargo with padding by flexible and thrust elements made it possible to iden-tify the conditions providing workability of thrust bars together with pre twisted fastening wires and cargo pads. It should be emphases that it is only when these conditions are not fulfilled that elastic forces of flexible fastening elements are engaged in work on retaining cargo from shifting. The distinguishing characteristics of generalized model under the action of spatial force system as compared to specific models is manifested in its ability to provide workability of flexible fastening elements together with thrust bars and cargo pads according to the criterion of normative value of longitudinal (or lateral) load on a fastening component and allowable pressing tension of the most loaded of the used pads. The investigation results concerning cargo transported by and unprovided for in Specification [3] are now available for researchers and can be looked upon as a new stage in the development of this problem.

Numerical analysis of selected type of the polyurethane rail pad is presented in the paper. A shaped pad with cylindrical-shaped elements in its working section was selected as a representative for the computational simulation. Analysis reflected the experimental test according to the valid standard. The test included loading of the vertical force perpendicular to the foot of the rail. Such test allows determining the static stiffness of the pad. The Mooney - Rivlin material model was selected in the current study. Necessary experimental tests including a uniaxial compression and tension were conducted to provide material constants for the hyperelastic material model applied for the FE model. Simplified FE models of the considered rail pad and the rail were developed. Rounded corners and edges of the cylindrical-shaped elements were omitted, since their modelling required a significant density of the FE mesh. Vertical force perpendicular to the foot of the rail was declared as nodal force distributed evenly along the edges of the selected finite element models Non-linear static analysis was performed using MSC.Marc software with large displacements and deformations taken into consideration. The obtained results allowed estimating deformations and the state of stress in a highly deformed rail pad. The static stiffness of the pad was defined as secant stiffness based on the vertical force - deflection curve.

The article presents the results of measurements of the “b” dimension of the SB4 spring clips carried out using three measurement methods that differ in the method and width of the base plate contact. The results obtained are presented and the uncertainty of measurement for each method is estimated. Attention was paid to the issues of the obtained dispersion of the value of the “b” dimension. The tolerated dimensions are discussed. The proposed measurement methods can help to identify shape mismatches of spring clips.

The subject of this article is to test the shear strength of the anchorage, based on diagonal brackets. The tests were carried out on six three-layer samples with a size of 40 x 20 x 17 cm. The samples have been designed to represent a section of a three-layer wall in large-plate buildings and made on an adequate scale with wire mesh reinforcement of Ø 3 mm and a mesh size of 3 x 3 cm. In three samples Ø 6 mm Ø hangers with a diagonal support arm were concreted, and in three others with a „V” shape. The hangers were interlocked with Ø 6 mm anchoring rods to stabilize the mesh embedded in the texture layer. The samples were made of concrete of class C 12/15, while the inner layer was thermal insulation in the form of expanded polystyrene. Tests of the resistance of the pull-out anchors were carried out using Hydrajaws 2008 Pull-out Tester. Each anchor was tested individually. Bonded anchors M 12 were used. The results were summarized in 15 tests (9 diagonal anchors and 6 points). The tests were carried out until the anchor fixings were destroyed. The increase in force during a single attempt was determined on the basis of a video recording in relation to each attempted extraction. When attempts were made to remove the diagonal anchors, steel brackets and angular wooden washers were used to achieve the effect of axial removal of anchors. The role of diagonal anchors in the work of the three-layer element has been discussed.

The results of numerical analysis of selected phenomena occurring in a rail fastening system were presented in the paper. The study is focused on assessment of the state of displacement and stresses in the rail pad subjected to a moving load. Two finite element models of the considered system were developed. The first one included elementary track segment corresponding to one sleeper. The second FE model consisted of several elementary segments. The number of the track segments was determined independently on the basis of dynamic analysis carried out using LS-DYNA computer code. Essential FE analyses were performed using MSC.Marc/Mentat software. FE model of the elementary segment included 600 mm length rail and a two-side shaped rail pad. The Mooney - Rivlin material model was applied for the polyurethane rail pad. The fastening systems were modelled using spring elements. The vertical and longitudinal spring elements were also applied for the ballast modelling. A case of moving load caused by single vertical force - one axle - was considered in the study. Methodology of moving load simulation in the MSC.Marc software was proposed. The obtained results allowed assessing the total deflection of the rail pad, the state of stress, the load distribution on respective sleepers. Moreover, they gave information about the behaviour of the rail pad under moving load in context of static test described in respective standards.

When an offshore oil field completed and put into production, new subsea pipelines and the new cable need to be established. Cable protection pipe clamp is used to fix cable protection pipe on the jacket. In order to avoid the problem of traditional steel structure clamp splice, counterpoint, fastening difficulty when installed cable protection pipe under water, reduce the risk and workload of under water, This paper develop a new type of portable connecting riser clamp –“backpack clamp” which solve the riser cable protection pipe difficult underwater installation problem. The main structure of backpack clamp used three valves type structure. The load characteristic of a clamping device was determined by the Morison equation which was a classical theory. Clamp device underwater mechanics analysis model was established. The minimum tension pre-tightening force was determined. The results show that the strength of the base meets the requirements after strength analysis with finite element analysis method, stability and strength experiments, which means the clamp based on resin matrix composite is feasible.

Socially imprinted death is a concept introduced by Marcel Mauss and related to many different phenomena, one of which is the ritual death by fasting still present in contemporary Jainism. Sallekhana is a traditional ritual once performed by chiefs, kings, brave warriors and holy monks, and is therefore linked to bravery, strength, salvation, and makes the person who performs it a hero. On the other hand, by the letter of the law sallekhana is merely suicide, extreme violence against the self, and as it requires the professional guidance of a monk and is performed mostly by elderly people it is often seen as an act of euthanasia. Both of these acts are forbidden by Indian law and should be perceived as something far from heroic. This article explains various layers of the paradox of sallekhana, as a phenomenon having opposite meanings at the same time – like being violent and being against all violence, and dealing with many obstacles when it comes to social practice. It also investigates several ways such a death is embedded in and accepted by both the society and religion, and how it interprets and pushes to its limits the general rules and the complex ideology of Jainism.

The article discusses the results of assembly strength tests carried out on SB4-type spring clips. Increases in the “b” and “f ” dimensions were observed and the tests were extended to include measurements performed after ten and fifteen assemblies and disassemblies of the spring clip.
