Opis:
The identification of an original and idiosyncratic style in the work of the Spanish filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar provides the tone of the speech with a semantic function: linguistic variation and specific registers help to transmit the message and intention of the author. As a consequence of this, the possibilities for the translation being carried away in similar linguistic terms to those of the original text will be higher than in texts without linguistic peculiarities or stylistically unmarked. The purpose of this paper is to reflect on the influence exerted by the original author in the reception of his work abroad and, consequently, in its translation. In this sense, we will analyse the informative value of certain linguistic uses as well as the importance of enriching stylistically the subtitles in these connotative texts through the example of Almodóvar’s film "Volver" and its translation into Polish (2006).

As the fifth book of the Pentateuch, Deuteronomy depicts a panoramic synthesis of the entire history of Israel. Consequently, its message is very important for Old Testament theology. Deuteronomy had its origin as a book of God’s Law, communicated to the Israelites by Moses, giving them in a certain way the best guidance possible through the course of their history. The Book of Deuteronomy raises important issues in the life and faith of the Israelites just as they prepare to enter the land of promise. The most important of them is the relationship between God and Israel; that direct connection of Israel’s obedience to the divine law that should be treated as ‘rule of life’ in the Promised Land. Moses’ first address to Israel (Deut 1:1–4:43) allows us to capture generally the essential elements that influence both positively and negatively on forming the vital relationship with God: the only One who can provide for every person a happy life – lived to the full.

Miłość Boga, która trwa na tysiąc pokoleń, jest wiernością (por. Wj 34, 6–7). Prawda ta stanowi klucz do zrozumienia całego działania Boga w ramach biblijnej historii zbawienia, zarówno w odniesieniu do społeczności (narodu wybranego), jak i jednostek (np. Abrahama). Bóg daje się poznać przez swoje dzieła, przez moc, potęgę, wierność swoim obietnicom (por. Pwt 7, 7–9). W zamian wzywa do posłuszeństwa, które należy rozumieć jako dobrowolne przyjęcie Jego planów i wejście z Nim w dialog miłości. Biblijne posłuszeństwo nie ma bowiem nic wspólnego z wymuszoną uległością i biernym poddawaniem się silniejszemu i dzierżącemu jakąś władzę. Jest ono powierzeniem się z miłością i w całości Bogu, z własnej wolnej decyzji.
The love of God that maintains for a thousand generations, is a faithfulness (cf. Ex 34:6–7). This truth constitutes the key to understanding each God’s action throughout the biblical History of Salvation, with reference to both the community (of the chosen people) and individuals (e.g. Abraham). God lets recognize him by his work, by his might, power and faithfulness to his promises (cf. Deut 7:7–9). In exchange for these He expects an obedience which should be understood as voluntary acceptance of His plans and entering the love dialogue with Him. Because the biblical obedience has nothing to do with the forced submissiveness and passive surrendering oneself stronger who wields some power. The obedience means your own free decision to entrust yourself to him as well as an intention of relying on his love.

Z ubolewaniem należy dostrzec, że powodem licznych kłamstw w mediach jest chęć zysku materialnego bądź politycznego, który wiąże się z brakiem formacji duchowej dziennikarzy. Sprawdza się stare powiedzenie: gdzie mówią pieniądze, tam milczy prawda. Zatem dziennikarz duchowo uformowany, który służy prawdzie i człowiekowi, ma obowiązek demaskować zło, uczciwie służąc prawdzie, a nie ubocznym interesom. Takie działanie jest wsparciem dobra wspólnego i przyczynia się do pogłębienia wolności i odpowiednich wartości w społeczeństwie. Dziennikarz wierny swojemu powołaniu, służący prawdzie i człowiekowi, wypełnia misję wynikającą z dziennikarskiego powołania.
The world needs responsible journalists who will serve the truth and people. It is regrettable to note that the reason for numerous lies in the media is the desire for material or political gain, which is associated with the lack of spiritual formation of journalists. The old saying holds true: where money speaks the truth is silent. Therefore, a spiritually formed journalist who serves the truth and man has the duty to expose evil, honestly serving the truth, and not by side interests. Such action supports the common good and contributes to the deepening of freedom and appropriate values in society. A journalist faithful to his vocation, serving the truth and man, fulfilling the mission resulting from his journalistic vocation.
Die Welt braucht verantwortungsbewusste Journalisten, die der Wahrheit und den Menschen dienen. Es ist bedauerlich festzustellen, dass der Grund für zahlreiche Lügen in den Medien der Wunsch nach materiellem oder politischem Gewinn ist, der mit der mangelnden spirituellen Ausbildung von Journalisten zusammenhängt. Es gilt das alte Sprichwort: Wo Geld spricht, schweigt die Wahrheit. Daher hat ein spirituell gebildeter Journalist, der der Wahrheit und dem Menschen dient, die Pflicht, das Böse aufzudecken, der Wahrheit ehrlich zu dienen und nicht mit Nebeninteressen zu arbeiten. Ein solches Handeln unterstützt das Gemeinwohl und trägt zur Vertiefung der Freiheit und angemessener Werte in der Gesellschaft bei. Ein seiner Berufung treuer Journalist, der der Wahrheit und dem Menschen dient, erfüllt die Mission, die sich aus seiner journalistischen Berufung ergibt.

Cieľom príspevku je zdôrazniť význam vernosti k zjaveným pravdám a evanjeliovým hodnotám v evanjelizačnom poslaní. V sekulárnom prostredí to môže spôsobovať prekvapenie. Zmenila sa kultúrna klíma, ktorá zoslabuje význam tohto typu svedectva. Vernosť však ostáva stále hlavným kresťanským svedectvom. Je napojená na vernosť Boha a Ježiša Krista. Vzorom pre súčasných kresťanov sú aj postoje prvých kresťanov. Vernosť sa dotýka hlavných kresťanských pilierov: viery, liturgie, morálky a modlitby.
The purpose of the paper is to emphasize the importance of being faithful to the revealed truths and values of the evangelistic mission. In a secular environment, this attitude can be seen as surprising. The cultural climate has changed, which weakens the significance of this type of testimony. However, faithfulness still remains the main form of Christian testimony. It is connected to the faithfulness of God and Jesus Christ. A model for contemporary Christians can be found in the attitudes of the early Christians. Faithfulness touches on the main Christian pillars: faith, liturgy, morality, and prayer.

No 70 of post-synodal exhortation Vita Consecrata by John Paul II (1996) under the characteristic title In a constant search for faithfulness distinguishes itself against the background of other Church’s Magisterium documents on con-tinuing formation by offering more integral and comprehensive vision of develop-ment stages of an adult person called to a consecrated life. It also presents, in an innovative way, a possibility to experience a vocational crisis as a significant part of the formation process as well as suggests specific ways to help a person in crisis and provides development guidelines. While comparing suggestions offered by No 70 of Vita Consecrata post-synodal exhortation to contemporary theories of development psychology and andragogy concerning the development in subsequent stages of adult life and development opportunities offered by development and situaltional crises, one may conclude that Vita Consecrata suggestions are indeed valid and integral ones. They are definitely worth both further theoretical studies and putting them into practice in formation processes of religious congregations and training cours-es organized for directors of formation of religious communities in charge of both initial and continuing formation.

Stefan Wyszyński i Józef Tischner to dwaj wybitni przedstawiciele polskiej myśli katolickiej dwudziestego wieku. Działali na różnych polach. Wyszyński jako Prymas Polski niósł ciężar odpowiedzialności za losy całego polskiego Kościoła w wyjątkowo trudnych dla niego czasach programowej ateizacji i dominacji antykościelnej propagandy, dlatego rozwijał w sobie cnoty męża stanu i myślał w kategoriach ogólnonarodowej strategii ewangelizacyjnej. Tischner działał przede wszystkim w dwóch obszarach: jako filozof i jako duszpasterz, a jego kompetencje i zainteresowania dotyczyły filozofii, która „rodzi się z bólu”, chce ten ból wyrażać i próbuje mu zaradzać. Swój głęboki i oryginalny zmysł filozoficzny wykorzystywał w codziennej pracy duszpasterskiej, co przynosiło imponujące efekty. Pomimo owej różnicy zakresu i stylu działania, obaj wywarli ogromny wpływ na duchowy i intelektualny kształt polskiego katolicyzmu. Choć nigdy nie spotkali się osobiście i nie mieli okazji współpracować ze sobą, można stwierdzić, że ich praca wychowawcza i intelektualna wytworzyła swego rodzaju „ukryty dialog” w polskiej przestrzeni publicznej. Najważniejsze płaszczyzny i owoce owego dialogu przedstawia niniejszy artykuł.
Stefan Wyszyński and Józef Tischner are two outstanding representatives of the Polish Catholic thought in the twentieth century. They were active in various fields. As the Primate of Poland, Wyszyński carried the burden of responsibility for the fate of the entire Polish Church in exceptionally difficult times of programmatic process of atheization and domination of anti-church propaganda, which is why he developed the virtues of a statesman and thought in terms of a national evangelization strategy. Tischner worked primarily in two areas: as a philosopher and as a priest, and his expertise and interests were related to philosophy, which is „born of pain”, wants to express that pain and tries to remedy it. He applied his deep and original philosophical sense to his daily pastoral work, with impressive results. Despite this difference in scope and style, they both exerted an enormous influence on the spiritual and intellectual shape of Polish Catholicism. Although they never met in person or had the opportunity to work together, it can be said that their educational and intellectual work created a kind of „hidden dialogue” in the Polish public space. The most important aspects and fruits of that dialogue are presented in this article.

In his teaching, apart from many other issues, Cardinal Wyszyński pointed out to the tasks facet by Poland in the new millennium, basing on the entire history of the nation and on its relationship with Triune God, Mary and Church. These facts have an effect that the nation, as a community of free citizens, and a family of the families, may fully realise its existence, vocation and mission. Therefore, the duty of the nation and the state is to take the following tasks: faithfulness to God, Cross and Gospel, being united with the Church that leads the nation into the supernatural and onto a higher level of earthly life , care over people and families, love of the Motherland - understood broadly as care over the land, culture, history and love of the motherland that shall be loved as second after God. Caring over an order in personal and social life, facing threats, weaknesses and sin and being led by the teaching of the Gospel and of the Vatican II in building a new order. If Poland bases its future on these values, as was the case for over a thousand years starting from the baptism of Poland, we will be able to look at the future with hope.

Elijah, the prophet is undoubtedly a unique figure both for the Old Testament and for Christ’s disciples. His life can be served as a model for the evangelists of God’s word. Elijah’s virtues, like faith and devotion to God’s word made his mission powerful. They also strengthened his impression of being the genuine prophet of the Only Jahweh. Studying Elijah’s history is certainly useful for the contemporary prophets of The Only God.
Prorok Eliasz jest niewątpliwie szczególną postacią tak dla Starego Testamentu, jak i dla uczniów Chrystusa. Jego dzieje niewątpliwie mogą, co więcej, powinny stać się wzorem dla głosicieli słowa Bożego. Przymioty Eliasza – nade wszystko jest wiara i wierność słowu Bożemu – sprawiały, że jego misja miała moc. Sprawiały, że Eliasz wiernie trwał jako prawdziwy prorok Jedynego Boga Jahwe. Poznawanie i medytowanie jego dziejów z pewnością jest pomocne dla współczesnych proroków Jedynego Boga.

Marriage is a relationship, which is an essence of a family bond in every culture and every epoch. However, contemporary relation between a man and a woman are not so straightforward and obvious. Love is a first declaration of fiancés, who associate it with a feeling, while forgetting about responsibility and ‘giving’ to another person. Faithfulness is usually understood in a very narrow way related mainly to a sexual sphere, whereas it also means loyalty towards your spouse in all issues and aspects. Honesty in a marriage requires empathy as well as transparency allowing mutual understanding and dialog. Till death do us apart is a pledge, which states lack of divorce, but also desire of intimacy, co-existence and presence with a husband or wife.

Autorka przedstawia założenia badań biograficznych jako badań interpretatywnych w nawiązaniu do sposobu ich uprawiania we współczesnej andragogice. Twierdzi, iż stały się one popularne, ze względu na powszechne przekonanie, że nie trzeba posiadać wyrafinowanych kompetencji, by je uprawiać. Tymczasem zidentyfikowane przez Autorkę praktyki badawcze, które nazywa: wiernością procedurze, wyczarowywaniem wyników badań czy traktowaniem badań biograficznych jako dyskursywnych wymagają zaawansowanej wiedzy dotyczącej epistemologii oraz wysokiej świadomości metodologicznej.
The author shows assumptions of biographical research as interpretative research with reference to the way it is conducted in modern andragogy. She states that it attracted general attention due to the popular belief that this kind of research does not require sophisticated competence. Meanwhile, research practices identified by the author, which she calls – faithfulness to the procedure, conjuring up research results or treating biographical research as discursive ones requires specialist knowledge of epistemology, as well as increased methodological awareness.

In the history of Catholic church the 20th century will be remembered as the age of martyrs. Many Christians bore witness of their fidelity to Christ by sacrificing their lives. In that terrifying time of test of fidelity however, there was a great number of people who did not suffered death because of their faith and yet they bore witness to Christ. Nowadays the combat against religion, faith and the Church still continues. The need to bear personal witness of fidelity to both Christ and personal vocation has been becoming much more imperious. Furthermore, testimonies that recently there are people who have proven that being faithful to Christ, even being faithful to the point of heroism, is possible are vital and needed. Kazimierz Świątek, archbishop, cardinal was one of these people. The article presents his family environment, path to priesthood and period of presbyterate.

Opis:
Human sexuality is a value of exceptional importance both for particular individuals and society as a whole. Therefore it calls for protection. This protection consists of moral norms that the Catholic Church has clearly and unambiguously exposed in her documents. The mass media, however, advocate permissivism and moral liberalism, materialism, hedonism, and consumerism. They may confuse their recipients with regard to valid norms of sexual behaviour. Approving that man will not be truly happy if he rejects the laws written in his nature by God (HV 31), and assuming responsibility for one's own development and formation of the young generation, we should state that it is extremely needed to remind people of teaching in the sphere of sexual morality. It contains especially hints on premarital chastity, marital faithfulness, and indissolubility of marriage.

Opis:
This paper focuses on the lack of recognition of comprehensive and text-genre unrelated translation theories, a condition that keeps translators imprisoned in the old and sterile debate on free Vs. literal translation. By challenging two of the most common opinions, that is, the presumed existence of legal texts and legal-translation theories and that of the presumed utility of the notion of free and literal translation, this paper underlines the importance of the adoption of a comprehensive theory absolutely independent from the classification of the texts to be translated. More specifically, Popovič’s semiotics approach to translation gives great space to personal interpretation and anisomorphism, hence discarding once and for all the concept of faithfulness and equivalence in translation. As I attempt to prove in this paper, faithful and objective translations cannot exist, as translation is proved to be a subjective act: it is a creative process for which the interpreter is called to give his own interpretation on the signs created within the text.
Praca dotyczy nieuwzględniania globalnych i nieskoncentrowanych na gatunku tekstu teorii przekładu, co prowadzi do uwięzienia tłumacza w niekończącej się debacie, jaki rodzaj przekładu stosować tj. przekład wolny czy dosłowny. Autor neguje dwie najczęściej wyrażane opinie dotyczące istnienia tekstów prawniczych i teorii przekładu prawniczego, wskazując konieczność stosowania globalnej teorii przekładu niezależnej od klasyfikacji tekstu do jakiegoś konkretnego gatunku. Autor zwraca uwagę, że podejście semiotyczne Popoviča do przekładu pozwala tłumaczowi na dokonywanie indywidualnych interpretacji tekstu i rozwiązywania problemu anizomorfizmu. W ten sposób raz na zawsze można porzucić dywagacje na temat wierności przekładu i ekwiwalencji. W pracy autor stara się udowodnić, że przekład wierny i obiektywny nie istnieje, ponieważ proces przekładu jest zawsze aktem subiektywnej kreatywności tłumacza-interpretatora.
