Opis:
The differential equation governing the transverse motion of an elastic rectangular plate of non-linear thickness variation with thermal gradient has been analyzed on the basis of classi- cal plate theory. Following Levy’s approach, i.e. the two parallel edges are simply supported, the fourth-order differential equation governing the motion of such plates of non-linear vary- ing thickness in one direction with exponentially temperature distribution has been solved by using the quintic splines interpolation technique for two different combinations of clamped and simply supported boundary conditions at the other two edges. An algorithm for com- puting the solution of this differential equation is presented for the case of equal intervals. The effect of thermal gradient together with taper constants on the natural frequencies of vibration is illustrated for the first three modes of vibration.

The effect of lead time plays an important role in inventory management. It is also important to study the optimal strategies when the lead time is not precisely known to the decision-makers. This paper aimed to examine the inventory model for deteriorating items with fuzzy lead time, negative exponential demand, and partially backlogged shortages. This model is unique in its nature due to probabilistic deterioration along with fuzzy lead time. The fuzzy lead time was assumed to be triangular, parabolic, trapezoidal numbers. The graded mean integration representation method was used for the defuzzification purpose. Three different types of probability distributions, namely uniform, triangular and beta were used for rate of deterioration to find optimal time and associated total inventory cost. The developed model was validated numerically, and values of optimal time and total inventory cost are given in a tabular form, corresponding to different probability distributions and fuzzy lead-time. The sensitivity analysis was performed on the variation of key parameters to observe its effect on the developed model.

This paper studies, the impacts of heat generation on MHD flow of radiative nanofluid over an exponentially stretching sheet in a porous medium with viscous dissipation are numerically analyzed. Two sorts of nanofluids, generated by solid nanoparticles with water such as alumina-water nanofluid and silver-water nanofluid were investigated. With the use of similarity transformations, to obtain a system of nonlinear ordinary differential equations. The resulting boundary value problem is solved numerically using the Nachtsheim-Swigert shooting technique scheme together with fourth-order Runge-Kutta integration method. Numerical results are obtained for the velocity, temperature distribution and concentration profiles for selected values of the governing physical parameters of combined magnetic interaction and porosity parameter, heat generation parameter, viscous dissipation parameter, thermal radiation parameter, solid volume fraction parameter, chemical reaction parameter and Lewis number are discussed. Quantities of engineering interest such as Skin friction coefficient, Nusselt number, and Sherwood number are also obtained numerically and are tabulated.

Small vibrations of a nonhomogeneous string of length one with left end fixed and right one moving with damping are described by the one-dimensional wave equation [formula] where ρ is the density of the string and h is a complex parameter. This equation can be rewritten in an operator form as an abstract Cauchy problem for the closed, densely defined operator B acting on a certain energy space H. It is proven that the operator B generates the exponentially stable C0-semigroup of contractions in the space H under assumptions that Re h > 0 and the density function is of bounded variation satisfying 0 < m ≤ ρ(x) for a.e. x ∈ [0; 1].

The present study is focused on the influence of viscous and joules dissipation on magnetohydrodynamic flow of a double-stratified nanofluid past an exponentially stretching sheet in the presence of thermal radiation and heat generation/absorption effects. The governing nonlinear partial differential equations are transformed into a system of nonlinear ordinary differential equations using similarity variables and then solved numerically for these equations is procured by employing the Nachtsheim-Swigert shooting technique scheme together with Runge-Kutta Fourth-Order method. A parametric analysis has been carried out to investigate the impacts of physical parameters taken in the problem. The pattern worked for the nanofluid transport equations unified the impacts of thermophoresis and Brownian motion. Numerical results are obtained for the velocity, temperature and concentration in the boundary layer region is studied in elaborate. The impact of physical interest such as local skin friction coefficient, local nusselt number, and local Sherwood number are also investigated numerically and are tabulated. It is remarked that Schmidt number and thermal stratification parameter decreases the dimensionless temperature, during the solutal stratification parameter decreases the dimensionless concentration.

Opis:
Some industrial data often come with uncertainty, which in some cases depends on the decision of those responsible for taking the measurement in the production process. While the fuzzy approach helps to tackle the ambiguity that arises in the measurement, an interval type-2 fuzzy set deals with such uncertainty better due to its flexibility over the control limits of its control chart. This paper aims to develop an Interval Type-2 fuzzy Exponentially Weighted Moving Average Control Chart (IT2FEWMA) under the fuzzy type-2 condition. This development will facilitate monitoring small and moderate shifts in the production process in conditions of uncertainty.

W niniejszym artykule przedstawiono zastosowanie karty sum skumulowanych (CUSUM) oraz karty wykładniczo ważonych ruchomych średnich (EWMA) do wczesnego wykrywania niewielkich zakłóceń procesu produkcyjnego.
The selection of proper SPC charts is essential to effective statistical process control implementation and use. It is important to use best chart for the given situation and need. Using Shewhart quality control charts to detecting small process shill is not effective. This paper shows that the cumulative-sum control charts (CUSUM) and Exponentially Weighted Moving Average control charts (EWMA) are appropriate to detect these shifts.

The current study aims to explore stagnation spot flow of a micropolar fluid about a plain linear exponentially expanding penetrable surface in the incidence of radiation and in-house heat production/immersion. Through similarity mapping, the mathematical modeling statements are transformed to ODE's and numerical results are found by shooting techniques. The impact of varying physical constants on momentum, micro-rotation and temperature is demonstrated through graphs. The computed measures including shear, couple stress, mass transfer and the local surface heat flux with distinct measures of factors involved in this proposed problem are presented through a table.

Opis:
A theoretical solution of flow past an exponentially accelerated vertical plate in the presence of Hall current and MHD relative to a rotating fluid with uniform temperature and mass diffusion is presented. The dimensionless equations are solved using the Laplace method. The axial and transverse velocity, temperature and concentration fields are studied for different parameters such as the Hall parameter (m), Hartmann number (M), Rotation parameter (Ω), Schmidt number, Prandtl number, thermal Grashof number (Gr) and mass Grashof number (Gc). It has been observed that the temperature of the plate decreases with increasing values of the Prandtl number and the concentration near the plate increases with decreasing values of Schmidt number. It is also observed that both axial and transverse velocities increase with decreasing values of the magnetic field parameter or rotation parameter, but the trend gets reversed with respect to the Hall parameter. The effects of parameters m, M, […], Gr and Gc on the axial and transverse velocity profiles are shown graphically.

This article investigates the solution of exponentially graded (EG) thick rectangular plates resting on two-parameter elastic foundations according to a trigonometric plate theory (TPT). This theory includes the effect of both shear and normal strains thickness without needing to any shear correction factor. The displacement fields contains initial terms of a power series across plate thickness as well as additional trigonometric terms. The material properties of plate is graded such that Lamé’s coefficients convert exponentially in a given constant orientation.Equilibrium equations according to the EG plate resting on Pasternak’s foundations are derived. The solution is obtained by using Navier’s technique. Numerical results for the EG thick plate on elastic foundations are presented, and compared with those available in the literature. The influences of Winkler’s and Pasternak’s parameters, side-to-thickness ratio, inhomogeneity parameter and aspect ratio on the bending responses of EG plates are investigated.

The aim of this paper is to study the effects of chemical reaction and heat source/sink on a steady MHD (magnetohydrodynamic) two-dimensional mixed convective boundary layer flow of a Maxwell nanofluid over a porous exponentially stretching sheet in the presence of suction/blowing. Convective boundary conditions of temperature and nanoparticle concentration are employed in the formulation. Similarity transformations are used to convert the governing partial differential equations into non-linear ordinary differential equations. The resulting non-linear system has been solved analytically using an efficient technique, namely: the homotopy analysis method (HAM). Expressions for velocity, temperature and nanoparticle concentration fields are developed in series form. Convergence of the constructed solution is verified. A comparison is made with the available results in the literature and our results are in very good agreement with the known results. The obtained results are presented through graphs for several sets of values of the parameters and salient features of the solutions are analyzed. Numerical values of the local skin-friction, Nusselt number and nanoparticle Sherwood number are computed and analyzed.
