Opis:
Seventeen taxa of exotic trilobites representing eight families are described from the olenid- and agnostoid-dominated strata of the uppermost Cambrian Series 3 and lower Furongian alum shale facies of Sweden and from glacial erratic boulders of Denmark. Only five taxa are assigned to species level, i.e., Maladioidella abdita (Salter, 1866), Olentella rara (Westergård, 1922), Pedinocephalus peregrinus (Henningsmoen, 1957), Ptychoparia pusilla (Westergård, 1922), and Westergaardella olenorum (Westergård, 1922), whereas the others are left under open nomenclature or remain unrecognized. Most are described for the first time from the Cambrian of Scandinavia. Their affinities point to a strong connection with East Gondwana, Laurentia, Kazakhstania and Siberia. Exotic trilobites appear in the succession directly after periods of very low oxygen concentration in the Alum Shale Sea; their occurrences correspond to the ranges of agnostoid arthropods in the succession and seem to be linked to global transgressive events causing an influx of cool and/or oxygen-depleted waters onto the shelf of the Baltica palaeocontinent.

Opis:
An option is one of the derivative instruments giving the right to buy or sell a specific amount of an underlying asset at an agreed price on or before a specified date in the future. With the option market growth and with the growing sophistication of investors, in addition to the standard (plain vanilla) calls and puts, the new products have arisen, called exotic options. These instruments, also known as the second generation options, can be defined as the option contracts with the payoff structure different from the standard European and American options. The aim of the paper is to make a synthetic presentation of the large family of exotic options. With reference to the characteristics defined by M. Ong, six groups of exotic options are identified and described on the selected examples, namely: – singular payoff options – options characterized by discontinuities or sudden jumps in the payoff function, – time-dependent options – options giving the right to choose the exercise date or certain features in the future, – nonlinear payoff options – options with nonlinear relation between income and price of the underlying instrument, – compound options – options for which the underlying is another option, – correlation options – options which are dependent on two or more underlying assets, – path-dependent options – options contingent on the price path taken by the underlying asset.

W artykule prezentowana jest propozycja komputerowego systemu obliczania finansowych instrumentów pochodnych – opcji egzotycznych i hybrydowych. Handel takimi produktami odbywa się na rynku pozagiełdowym (OTC) i często są to produkty tworzone na zlecenie. Wartości pewnych rodzajów opcji egzotycznych i hybrydowych nie można wyliczyć tradycyjnymi analitycznymi i numerycznymi metodami. W takich przypadkach warto użyć metody Monte-Carlo do wyceny rzeczywistej wartości instrumentów finansowych. W artykule przedstawiony został sposób obliczania ceny przykładowej opcji egzotycznej za pomocą metody MC. System komputerowy oparty o MC mógłby służyć do wspomagania decyzji inwestycyjnych dotyczących egzotycznych kontraktów opcyjnych.
This paper presents a proposal for a computer system of calculation of financial derivatives - exotic and hybrid options. The trade of such products takes place on the OTC market and these products are often made and tailored on demand. The values of certain types of exotic and hybrid options cannot be calculated with traditional analytical and numerical methods. In such cases, it is worth to use the Monte-Carlo method for the valuation of the real value of financial instruments. This paper presents an example of calculating the price of exotic options using the MC method. The computer system based on MC could be used to support investment decisions regarding exotic option contracts.

A wildflysch sequence recently recognized in the Görlitzer Schiefergebirge/western Kaczawskie Mts. boundary zone permits the characterization of the westernmost Kaczawa Unit as a chaotic complex. The cherts,many of which contain numerous radiolarians, occur as exotic clasts within the olistostrome deposits of the wildflysch. They are associated with allochthonous blocks of blueschist, andesite pillow lavas and pyroclastic rocks, flysch facies clastic rocks, mudstones (often of black shale lithology) and carbonates. The conodonts extracted from the grey-greenish radiolarite cherts indicate a mid-Famennian age (Early rhomboidea Zone to Early marginifera Zone). The conodont-bearing radiolarite clasts reveal no trace of a tectonometamorphic fabric. Their 4-4.5 conodont colour alteration index (CAI) indicates that the rock underwent low-temperature (250-285C) thermal alteration. The lack of thermal overprint in the olistostrome matrix allows this alteration to be interpreted as a part of the tectonothermal, post-mid-Famennian evolution of the source area. A number of the exotic blocks of unmetamorphosed volcanic rocks associated with the chert exotics seems to indicate igneous (volcanic) activity as the reason for the chert alteration. The fact that exotic blocks of the Devonian chert have been found as clasts within deposits earlier believed to represent Upper Proterozoic (Cadomian) flysch suggests the need for reassessement of the extent of Cadomian rocks in the westernmost Sudetes.

Opis:
This article deals with the issues regarding the accommodation of catering establishments in a residential area and to ensure pedestrian accessibility to them to save time and reduce the load on the city's transport system. It is based on a three-stage service system and the average walking speed of the economically active population. To solve the unsatisfactory location of catering establishments in a residential area, a formula for calculating the service radius for each type of catering establishment, and classify catering establishments into fast, leisure, and mixed types are proposed. To conclude, with the implementation of the attached calculations in urban planning, the location of types of catering establishments in the residential area could solve the set goals.
W artykule omówiono zagadnienia związane z zakwaterowaniem placówek gastronomicznych na obszarze mieszkalnym oraz zapewnieniem do nich dostępu dla pieszych w celu zaoszczędzenia czasu i odciążenia systemu transportowego miasta. Badanie to opiera się na trzystopniowym systemie obsługi i średniej prędkości chodzenia ludności aktywnej zawodowo. Aby rozwiązać niezadowalającą lokalizację placówek gastronomicznych w dzielnicy mieszkalnej, proponuje się formułę obliczania promienia obsługi dla każdego rodzaju placówki gastronomicznej oraz klasyfikację placówek gastronomicznych na typy szybkie, rekreacyjne i mieszane. Reasumując, dzięki zastosowaniu załączonych obliczeń w urbanistyce, lokalizacja typów lokali gastronomicznych na obszarze mieszkalnym może rozwiązać założone cele.

The study was conducted in two Woredas of North western zone of Tigray, Ethiopia. The survey was conducted by interviewing 264 randomly selected respondents to assess the chicken production system and perception of farmers regarding the benefits and constraints of using exotic chicken breeds. Of total, 95.1% of respondents practiced free ranging type chicken production system with little feed supplementation. About 95.4% of the respondents were using traditional treatment for their chicken as prevention as well as for treating their poultry from different diseases. Farmers’ in the study area were perceiving that producing of exotic poultry have the benefits such as higher egg production capacity, fast growing ability of chicken and higher selling price of exotic poultry eggs as compared to the local ones. On the other hand, cost of the exotic chicken breed, needs more care, higher feed requirement, susceptibility to diseases and predators are among the major constraints in producing exotic poultry breeds as compared to local poultry. The government and non-governmental organizations that involved in improving poultry production in the rural areas should address the major constraints of poultry production that hinder the adoption of exotic poultry in the study area. Therefore, technical and institutional interventions are very crucial to reduce the existing constraints and improve the existing traditional chicken production system in the study area.

Exotic clasts present in flysch deposits of the Western Outer Carpathians enable investigation and reconstruction of the eroded crystalline basement of the Silesian Ridge. The flysch rocks of the Istebna Formation (Jasnowice Member: Paleocene) in the Silesian Nappe contain magmatic and metamorphic clasts derived from the Silesian Ridge basement. The crystalline rock fragments acquired from cohesive debrites were analyzed petrographically and geochemically, and zircon and rutile crystals were subject to LA-ICP-MS U-Pb dating. Granitoid clasts yielded Meso-Variscan U-Pb zircon ages (325.7 and 330.6 Ma), with older (Neoproterozoic to Paleoproterozoic) inherited cores and eNd330 = –12.0 (TDM age of 1.98 Ga). The orthogneiss clast yielded a protolith age of 1635 Ma and fingerprint of thermal reworking at ~288 Ma. Zircon crystals from the detrital clasts yielded similar U-Pb zircon ages to the granitoid clasts (311.5 to 391 and 331 Ma). The rutile crystals from sandstone yielded concordia age of 344.7 Ma. Zircon crystals from paragneiss, interpreted as a granitoid envelope, yielded 238U/206Pb ages between 557 and 686 Ma and include an inherited core of age ~1207.4 ±33.8 Ma. Age data from exotic clasts and the detrital zircon and rutile fraction suggest the core part of the Silesian Ridge was a Neoproterozoic to Mesoproterozoic envelope intruded by Meso-Variscan granitoid plutons.

Drewno gatunków egzotycznych znajduje coraz częściej zastosowanie w zewnętrznych przegrodach budowlanych, szczególnie w oknach, drzwiach, elewacjach i żaluzjach. Mnogość gatunków oraz specyficzne, niezupełnie poznane właściwości sprawiają, że jego wykorzystanie w budownictwie jest utrudnione. Zastosowanie drewna egzotycznego w wyrobach budowlanych, w szczególności w przegrodach zewnętrznych, narażonych na wpływ zmiennych oddziaływań klimatycznych, powinna poprzedzać badawcza weryfikacja szeregu cech. Niejednokrotnie konieczne jest sprawdzenie specjalnych właściwości, takich jak sklejalność, podatność na impregnację lub wykończenie powłokami malarskimi, decydujących o niezawodność i trwałość wyrobu finalnego.
Exotic wood species are more often used in windows, doors, facades and shutters. A multitude of species and unique properties make its use is difficult. The use of exotic wood in outside partitions, exposed to the different climatic conditions, should be preceded by verification of its properties, sometimes specific (glueability, susceptibility to impregnation or finish paint coatings), which determining the reliability and durability of the final product.

W artykule przedstawiono rezultaty badań nad odpornością na starzenie, sztuczne i naturalne, powłokotwórczych zabezpieczeń ogniochronnych, aplikowanych na drewnie cedr czerwony, modrzew syberyjski oraz okoume, stosowanym do wykonywania okładzin elewacyjnych. Badane rozwiązania wykazały zróżnicowaną, ściśle związaną z gatunkiem drewna, stałość właściwości ogniochronnych, adhezji i cech estetyczno-dekoracyjnych.
The paper presents the test results for resistance to accelerated ageing and natural ageing of fire retardant coatings applied on cedar, spruce and okoume wood, intended to façade cladding. Tested solutions showed significantly different stability of fire performance, adhesion and aesthetic-decorative features.

The potential differentiations in litter chemistry among native and non-native trees are poorly understood. We compared the chemical composition of leaf litterfall of 11 exotic tree species, e.g. coniferous: Abies cephalonica, A. grandis, A. procera, Chamaecyparis pisifera, Pinus peuce, Pseudotsuga menziesii, Thuja plicata, and deciduous: Acer rubrum, A. saccharum, Betula alleghaniensis and Quercus rubra, with that of a native European conifer, Pinus sylvestris (as reference to coniferous species) anda mixture of native European Quercus robur, Carpinus betulus, Tilia cordata, T. platyphyllos and Corylus avellana leaves (as a reference mixture of deciduous species). We found significant differences among the species studied in nitrogen and carbon content in needles/leaves, C/N ratio, as well as total soluble phenolic compounds (TPh) and total nonstructural carbohydrates (TNC) content, including soluble carbohydrates and starch. However, we found no clear differentiation of exotic from native tree species in the analyzed elements and metabolites. Among the exotic coniferous tree species, P. menziesii stood out among the species studied – fallen needles of this species were characterized by relatively high TPh and TNC content. The relationships between TPh and TNC content in leaf and needle litter among tree species were similar among two consecutive years. For deciduous tree species, the tendency of higher TPh content and C/N ratio in leaves falling earlier (September; leaves of sun-type) than later (November; leaves of shade-type) was more distinct than in coniferous tree species. Generally, we cannot see any special differences in the levels or mutual quantitative relationships of the chemical compounds studied in fallen needles/leaves of exotic tree species in comparison with native tree species.

В статията са разгледани някои аспекти на избрани преводи на Тадеуш Конвицки и Йордан Йовков в България и Полша, както и въпроси, свързани с рецепцията на литературната творба в чужда културна среда. Макар двамата писатели да принадлежат към различни литературни направления и периоди, изходна база за предложените анализи са два формални, общи за динамиката на преводите и интереса към техните творби, признака: те не са сред най‑популярните и издавани полски и български прозаици в чуждата културна среда, а 1989 г. представлява своеобразна цезура на представянето им в нея, през следващите години техни творби не са публикувани. Разгледани са въпросите на рецепцията и трудностите от историческо‑културен характер, произтичащи от различния културен код на възприемателя или плод на стереотипни преводачески стратегии (екзотизиране).
This article examines the problems associated with the acceptance of the work of Tadeusz Konwicki in Bulgaria and Yordan Yovkov in Poland. The fundamental questions in the field of translation studies are considered in this article, which are related to the different cultural code of the recipient, historical difficulties and incorrect translation strategies.

The article attempts to discuss two examples of Danish literary discourse on former Danish colonies on the Gold Coast (Africa). Sophie Petersen’s travel books “Danmarks gamle Tropekolonier”, 1946 (The former Danish Tropic Colonies) and “Vore gamle Tropekolonier”, 1948 (Our former Tropic Colonies) and Thorkild Hansen’s documentary novel “Slavernes Kyst”, 1967 (The Coast of the Slaves) have been analyzed as texts that reveal a part of the Danish colonial and postcolonial (self-)reflection and consciousness. The literary representations of Africa given in the aforementioned books reflect the Danish nation-building project in the respective historical, political and mental contexts (during the Second World War and in the sixties). Petersen and Hansen apply different writing strategies (rhetorical as well as discursive) in their presentations of the Danish history of the Gold Coast, and they seem to represent rather dissimilar approaches to this topic. As a conclusion, the author of the article attempts to answer the question about the role of the African representations in the Danish self-understanding as a nation.

Opis:
The aim of the article is to characterize the perception of exotic plants in Poland – the process of their demostication in the cultural and social senses. As an example for the analysis, cocoa was selected. In the introduction, the mechanisms of constructing the concept of exotica were described. Then, the changes in the cultural significance of cocoa from pre-colonial times to the present were discussed. In the following part, the perception of cocoa cultivation in Poland was outlined.
