W publikacji przedstawiono zagadnienie radioaktywności wód kopalnianych charakteryzujących się podwyższoną promieniotwórczością naturalną oraz ich wpływ na wody rzeczne. Przedstawiono wyniki badań wybranych górnośląskich rzek, odbierających wody zrzutowe z kopalni węgla kamiennego. W pierwszej części artykułu przedstawiono źródła promieniotwórcze występujące w środowisku naturalnym oraz omówiono zasady działania systemu monitoringu środowiska w Polsce, z uwzględnieniem monitoringu radiacyjnego. Autorzy przedstawiają nieścisłości w unormowaniach prawnych oraz wady systemu monitorowania terenów przykopalnianych, zagrożonych skażeniami promieniotwórczymi od naturalnych radioizotopów. Zaprezentowane wyniki badań wód kopalnianych potwierdzają, że wody odpadowe nie powodują obecnie znaczących skażeń promieniotwórczych środowiska naturalnego, ponieważ zakłady górnicze, z których odprowadzane są wody o podwyższonej radioaktywności, posiadają odpowiednie systemy oczyszczania.
The main goal of this publication is to describe the problem of radioactivity of coal mine water from Upper Silesia and its influence on the environment surrounding the mines. The first part of this article presents the current knowledge concerning natural and artificial radioactivity and describes the current radiation monitoring system in Poland. The next part presents the results of the analysis of river water taken from different points: below and above the points of discharge of mine water. This analysis was performed in the Chemical Metallurgy Division at Wroclaw University of Technology. The conclusion drawn from the results is as follows: even high concentrations of radium in mine water does not pollute rivers too much.

The aim of this paper is to indicate the relationship between the shape of organizational sensory systems of Polish companies and beneficialness of the shape of cooperative relations between these companies with particular kinds of cooperators. The theoretical part of this article was devoted to the identification of the role of cooperative relations in the contemporary economic environment and a brief description of the concept of organizational sensory system, including its influence on cooperation between companies. The survey used the respondents’ indications of frequency of monitoring of elements of organization and its environment and the indication of the beneficialness of the shape of cooperative relationships with suppliers, customers and co-opetitors (in the framework of coopetitive relations). The chi-squared independence tests were used to demonstrate dependencies. In conclusion, it turned out that there are only two statistically significant relations and both of them pertain to relationships with customers.
Celem niniejszego artykułu jest wskazanie na relacje pomiędzy kształtem organizacyjnych systemów sensorycznych polskich przedsiębiorstw a korzystnością ukształtowania relacji kooperacyjnych tych przedsiębiorstw z poszczególnymi rodzajami kooperantów. Część teoretyczna niniejszego opracowania identyfikuje role relacji kooperacyjnych we współczesnych uwarunkowaniach gospodarczych oraz syntetycznie przedstawia koncepcję organizacyjnego systemu sensorycznego, uwzględniając jego wpływ na kooperację między przedsiębiorstwami. W ramach badań wykorzystano wskazania respondentów na częstotliwość monitorowania elementów organizacji i jej otoczenia, a także wskazań na poziom korzystności ukształtowania relacji kooperacyjnych z dostawcami, odbiorcami oraz konkurentami (w ramach relacji koopetycji). Przeprowadzono testy niezależności chi-kwadrat, w celu wskazania na zaistniałe relacje. Wyniki badań wskazują na istnienie dwóch statystycznych zależności w obszarze relacji z odbiorcami.

The concept of creation of the geoportal “Environmental Safety of Ukrainian-Polish Transboundary Territories” has been developed. General principles and methodological approaches of spatiotemporal geographically distributed thematic data integration were substantiated. The geoinformation system, which is based on results of monitoring researches of objects of the nature reserve fund in the biosphere reserve “Roztochya”, is considered. The geoinformation monitoring technologies ensure ecological safety management. The proposed geoportal determines directions of information technology implementation for transboundary monitoring of ecosystems in the euroregions.

Opis:
An analysis of the failures occurring in the energetic systems of Polish fishing cutters, covering the years 1999–2012, is presented in this paper.The structural age, size and number of Polish fishing cutters is also indi- cated herein. The eff ect of the failures on the marine environment has been assessed, taking into consideration a presumed fuel spillage depending on fish catch volume and an analysis of the biodegradability of various fuels. The subject of the analysis also includes the damage impact of transponders cooperating with a vessel monitoring system (VMS) on an increase of the risk of collisions between other off shore industry objects and fishing vessels.

Przeprowadzono analizę problemów oraz możliwości zapewnienia bezpieczeństwa ekologicznego dróg na Ukrainie. Zaproponowano model matematyczny na podstawie sieci neuronowej, który w warunkach niepełnej i rozmytej informacji pozwala oszacować ilościowo jakość przestrzeni w otoczeniu dróg. Zaproponowane podejście pozwala określić poziom bezpieczeństwa ekologicznego dróg samochodowych, wskazać celowość rozmieszczenia stanowisk monitoringu ekologicznego, a również umożliwia opracowanie wykazu działań co do ochrony środowiska dla odcinków dróg.
The analysis of problems and of approaches for ensuring the environmental safety of roads in Ukraine has been performed. The proposed mathematical model on the basis of neural networks allows numerical evaluation of quality of road area in the conditions of incomplete and fuzzy information. The proposed approach allows the determination of roads’ environmental safety level, the indication of necessity for arrangement of environmental monitoring stations, and allows the development of a number of activities for environmental protection on the road sections as well.

In this article, a project of an unmanned aerial system designed for monitoring of air pollution is presented. The system consists of an autonomous unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) equipped with a measurement head with sensors of chemical and physical properties of atmospheric air, and a ground control station arranged to store and display the collected data. The head contains modern sensors selective to the most important components of air in view of environmental pollution. Measurement data are acquired locally as well as transmitted wirelessly to a ground station. The UAV can be programmed to a particular measurement missions. The ground station dispose of a software for flight control and for visualisation of measurement results on-line. In this paper, an architecture of the entire system, a data processing performing by each subsystem, and communication methods between them are presented. This paper also includes a specification of sensors with their principles of operation, description of their metrological properties and the way, in which they are implemented in the designed electrical circuits. Results of preliminary tests in a laboratory and in a field, during a short flight, are also presented.

The constitution of the German Environmental Specimen Bank (ESB) has started in 1985, subsequent to a successful pilot study concerning the feasibility. Since that time, a multitude of technological and methodical standards have been developed, which allow for a high quality of the storage-samples and of the specimen characterization. While the storage-samples are kept for retrospective analysis, by now, already comprehensive data on the material-developing in the environment are available due to a real time monitoring of selected environmental chemicals over a period of up to twenty years. Thus, spatial and temporal trends can be described. Since the state of knowledge on critical tissue concentrations in the sublethal range is extremely low at present, it is however not possible to accomplish a direct assessment of relevancy of the substance concentrations. Hence, within the scope of the German ESB Program, the following strategies on assessment of relevancy are observed: use of biomarkers, histopathological examinations, biometric specimen characterization, use of ecological indicator groups, and development of a reference system with analytical and biometric data. Thus, for example endocrine effects in male breams in the river Saar, which correlate directly to operational discharges from municipal sewage plants, could be detected. By histopathological examinations, fibrotic and necrotic tissue adaptations on the gonads had been ascertained cumulatively, which unambiguously imply a restricted fertility of the male breams. In the river Rhine, an improved growth along the timeline could be described on the basis of biometric characterization of breams, which is regarded as rate for the reaction to all structural and material changes in the water body. In this paper we discuss two closely related problems arising in environmental monitoring. The first is the source localization problem linked to the question How can one find an unknown 'contamination source'? The second is an associated sensor placement problem: Where should we place sensors that are capable of providing the necessary 'adequate data' for that? Our approach is based on some concepts and ideas developed in mathematical control theory of partial differential equations.
