Opis:
Marguerite Duras’s works deal with the problems typical of the literary studies in the second half of the twentieth century: presence and absence, abandoning chronological order of events, and eroticism. This article analyses her literary technique, including text fragmentation and elliptical style. The author searches for appropriate means of expression, often using silence and loneliness in keeping with her vision of absence attributed to women, kept silent by the dominant culture. Omissions in the narrative emphasise the inexpressible, beyond rational. Absence is meaningful, e.g. the missing photograph in The Lover. Absence also implies a desire to change and to write. Duras shows the problem in the context of a hidden image and an act of creation. The missing word alludes to a search of self. The author grasps complexity and diversity of absence. It is part of the theme, style, and text structure, emphasising the limitations of the language and the powerlessness of the protagonist.

Work has shown how a reverse reaction magnetic field influences the whole magnetic field within the conductor and its vicinity. A description of this is presented in formulae for relative field values and parameters taking into account frequency, conductivity and diameter of the conductor. We analyze thickness-shear vibrations of an at-cut quartz plate with elliptical electrodes. The electrodes are essentially optimal in the sense of Mindlin in that they approximately satisfy the criterion for the Bechmann number in every direction. The scalar differential equation derived by Tiersten and Smythe is used which allows us to obtain the overtone modes in addition to the fundamental modes.

Opis:
Ultrasonic elliptical vibration cutting has recently been utilized in industry for finishing of various precision parts such as mirror surface finishing and precision micro machining of dies and molds. However, its application has been limited to high-cost ultra-precision machining, where depth of cut is typically in a range from a few micrometers to several tens of micrometers due to power limitation of the vibration device. To expand its application to low-cost mirror surface finishing with ordinary machining facilities, a high-power elliptical vibration device was developed in this research. The elliptical vibration cutting of hardened die steel was examined by applying the developed high-power elliptical vibration device with single crystalline diamond tools. Pick feed was kept to be 0.02 mm to obtain mirror quality surfaces, while depth of cut was increased up to 0.4 mm to verify performance of the high-power elliptical vibration cutting. By analyzing the experimental results, it was clarified that mirror surface finishing of the hardened die steel can be achieved at the large depth of cut with practically acceptable tool life.

The aim of this paper is to analyse Italian nominal groups containing proper nouns. The article discusses two syntagma types with elliptical structure as well as analogical structures where the common and proper nouns are joined by the preposition “di”. The classification and analysis of nominal groups have been carried out on the basis of the function of the proper noun in the syntagma. Two groups of syntagmas have been distinguished: one with the proper noun functioning as a superordinate constituent and one with the proper noun functioning as a modifier. In the former type (where the proper noun is a superordinate constituent), the common noun functions as a descriptive or restrictive appositive. The syntagmas, where the proper noun functions as a modifier, are of particularly diverse character. In such cases, the possibility to paraphrase them by means of the analysed structures constitutes an additional criterion. Consequently, three syntagma types have been distinguished as represented by the following examples: il progetto Leonardo (which does not allow for an alternative synonymous version, *il progetto di Leonardo), il governo Monti (where the prepositional structure il governo di Monti may be used interchangeably) and un quadro di Rubens (which does not allow for an alternative synonymous version with the ellipsis of the preposition “di” *un quadro Rubens).

The filtering antenna provides both radiation and filtering features and is an important component for the RF front-end of wireless devices. The main function of a filtering antenna is to reject out-of-band signals, thus reducing the interference from adjacent channels. The aim of the present work is to design a 2.6 GHz microstrip filtering antenna for 4G and 5G global mobile services. The filtering antenna is designed using a hairpin bandpass filter integrated with an elliptical microstrip aerial. Good impedance matching is obtained by using appropriate dimensions of the hairpin bandpass filter. The 10 dB return loss bandwidth of the filtering antenna is approx. 5.7%, with the maximum gain for the elliptical filtering antenna of approx. 2.2 dB. Good agreements between the measured and simulated results are obtained for the proposed filtering antenna and the bandwidth covers almost the entire 2.6 GHz band.

Elliptical Gaussian beam (EGB) has many different physical properties from circular Gaussian beam. In this paper, the transverse energy flux and intensity of one and two coherent EGBs are studied. In our simulation, the transverse energy flux and intensity varying with waist ratio are discussed in detail. It has been found that through increasing the waist ratio, the transverse energy flux after interference would be strengthened significantly. Although the transverse energy flux is much weaker than the longitudinal energy flux, its signal to noise ratio has been verified to be strong enough for detection. Our derivations are still reasonable for another simulation with general experimental parameters. The simulation results are considered to be helpful for some physical experiments using the transverse energy flux of Gaussian beam, such as an important application in electromagnetic response produced by interaction of high-frequency gravitational waves.

The power criterion of the resistance to failure of the metal of coiled tubing (CT) was experimentally evaluated. The conditions are defined under which failure is possible during the operation of CT containing an external semi‑elliptical crack. The interconnection of the critical depths of external semi‑elliptical cracks from the ratio of their semiaxes is established. It is shown that, during the course of operation, the external transverse semi‑elliptical crack with the ratio of semiaxes (a/c)i = 1/2 is the most dangerous for coiled tubing. The experimental and calculation procedures are proposed that give us an opportunity to interpret the results of their technical diagnostics in evaluating the conditions under which the failure of flexible pipes containing outer transverse semi‑elliptical cracks is possible during tripping operations.

In this paper are considered analogies between elliptical-slide hearing occurring in artificial robots and elliptical natural human joints as well artificial human femoral prosthesis. The comparisons between elliptical human femoral prosthesis and mechanical spherical bearings indicate the advantages implicated from the use ol elliptical slide bearings To prow above statement we describe some remarks referring the elliptical femoral prosthesis and natural human joints. Numerous contemporary studies and experimental measurements regarding the human hip joints indicate, that femoral head is, in fact naturally elliptical. Therefore, the femoral elliptical complete prosthesis as well half prosthesis must be better adapted to the natural hip joint with elliptical bonehead and neck of the femur. The elliptical femoral prosthesis was designed for solving the problem of the relationship between the femoral prosthesis head and the anatomical acetabulum and to minimize the various incidence namely wear protrusion and pain effects. Performed clinical tests indicate that elliptical prosthesis head have the most advanced technological shapes because are based on the anatomy and biomechanics features of the natural human hip joint The same aspects are occurring during functioning the elliptical slide bearing in artificial robots. The mechanics of elliptical-slide bearings can be taken as the appropriate shape in the respect to the operating treatment. Taking into account the hydrodynamic theory of lubrication of cooperating surfaces we must finally find pressure distributions, friction forces, friction coefficients and wear. To prepare this calculations we ought al first determine and calculate the fields of the regions of lubrication on the internal surface lying on the elliptical surfaces and on the external elliptical surface of the sleeve. Surface lubrication regions consist of the sums of spherical triangle, which are lying on the abovementioned surface. In this paper are determined the formulas for the field calculations of elliptical triangle with the three vertexes (points) for coordinates which are foreseen measured.

The presence of geometric discontinuity in a material reduces considerably its resistance to mechanical stresses, therefore reducing the service life of materials. The analysis of structural behaviour in the presence of geometric discontinuities is important to ensure the proper use, especially if it is regarding a material of weak mechanical properties such as a polymer. The objective of the present work is to analyse the effect of the notch presence of variable geometric shapes on the tensile strength of epoxy-type polymer specimens. A series of tensile tests were carried out on standardised specimens, taking into account the presence or absence of a notch. Each series of tests contains five specimens. Two notch shapes were considered: circular (hole) and elliptical. The experimental results in terms of stress–strain clearly show that the presence of notches reduces considerably the resistance of the material, where the maximum stress for the undamaged specimen was 41.22 MPa and the lowest stress for the elliptical-notched specimen was 11.21 MPa. A numerical analysis by the extended finite element method (XFEM) was undertaken on the same geometric models; in addition, the results in stress–strain form were validated with the experimental results. A remarkable improvement was obtained (generally an error within 0.06%) for strain, maximum stress, Young’s modulus and elongation values. An exponential decrease was noted in the stress, strain, and Young’s modulus in the presence of a notch in the material.

In this project thesis, initial blank shape optimization of a twin elliptical cup to reduce earring phenomenon in anisotropic sheet deep drawing process was studied .The purpose of this study is optimization of initial blank for reduction of the ears height value. The optimization process carried out using finite element method approach, which is coupled with Taguchi design of experiments and reduced basis technique methods. The deep drawing process was simulated in FEM software ABAQUS 6.12. The results of optimization show earring height and, in addition, a number of design variables and time of process can be reduced by using this methods. After optimization process with the proposed method, the maximum reduction of the earring height would be from 21.08 mm to 0.07 mm and also it could be reduced to 0 in some of the directions. The proposed optimization design in this article allows the designers to select the practical basis shapes. This leads to obtain better results at the end of the optimization process, to reduce design variables, and also to prevent repeating the optimization steps for indirect shapes.

Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to elaborate new calculation schemes for evaluating the strength parameters of railway rolling stock parts with non-local properties of surface layers in the presence of elliptical stress concentrators. Design/methodology/approach: Using the proposed approaches of developed mathematical modelling and open software for calculating FEniCS, it were established the most dangerous angles of stress concentrator orientation and the required thickness of the hardened zones of parts, which ensures their minimum softening during operation. Findings: It is shown that for an elliptical stress concentrator with any orientation angle, there is a certain key size of surface hardening thickness, the exceeding the value of which does not have influence on the operational strength of the parts, but rise the price of technological operations. Research limitations/implications: In this paper proposes a method for computation the impact of the orientation of the surface elliptical stress concentrators on the contact strength of parts under conditions of dominate friction power loads. Practical implications: The obtained results were used to set the modes of plasma hardening, which increase the contact strength of railway parts with elliptical stress concentrators. Originality/value: Using the approaches of contact mechanics, mathematical and computer modelling, methods of controlling the contact strength of the parts with the surface elliptical stress concentrators were proposed for the first time.

Over 2 years ago there was published an article (Bronikowska 2018a) challenging some results of research related to Morasko meteorite fall. Those results are huge problem for scientists who are not able to explain them using simplified models and maybe do not want to admit that some assumptions should be verified and redefined. One of hypothesis discussed in the paper was article manifesting that Morasko craters were created during oblique impact (Walesiak 2017) and that initial trajectory can be estimated by elongation of almost all cavities, their bilateral symmetries according to longer axis and observed asymmetries of rims. By comparison to Campo del Cielo craters Walesiak suggested that impact angle could be very shallow (10–20°), as ellipticity of all smaller Morasko structures is approx. 1,3. Further analysis of topography in neighborhood of Morasko revealed that there may exist more impact craters around this area, which may explain discovery of two iron meteorites near Oborniki village (17 km NW from Meteorite Morasko Restricted Area), unfortunately lost during World War II. In fact, Bronikowska confused definitions “oblique impact” and “elliptical craters”, what can be supported by given references (Elbeshausen et al. 2009) confirming Walesiak hypothesis. Unfortunately, this misunderstanding touches also another article of this author (Bronikowska et al. 2017), where obliquity was neglected. However, estimated during that modeling pre-impact angle (30–43°), according to known definitions written in many publications, should be classified as oblique impact. All elongated craters, as well as morphology of the largest structure in Meteorite Morasko Restricted Area suggest impact from NW while during reconstruction of meteoroid parameters Bronikowska assumed impactor coming from NE (based on existing strewn field). Considering not clear relation between meteorites and craters (e.g., lack of findings in cavities, relatively poor number of shrapnel fragments around structures and possibility that craters may be much older than fall of meteorites), it may be not enough reliable justification. Even if relation exists, example of Whitecourt (with distribution of meteorites downrange), compared with abundance of Morasko shrapnel fragments collected hundreds of meters NE from Restricted Area, undermines parameter used in modelling. Also, single fragmentation is doubtful, concluded after unreasonable omitting known craters outside Restricted Area (e.g., crater no 8 described by Pokrzywnicki (1964) and structure no 9 mentioned by Hodge (1994)). Finally, use of iSALE-2D shock physics code (valid for vertical impacts only) for modelling of elliptical craters formed during highly oblique impact (angle lower than 12°), even considering vertical component (which approximation is only applicable for impact into materials with a friction coefficient of about f=0,7 with no or very little cohesion) (Elbeshausen et al. 2009), also should not be considered as proper applied method leading to get valuable results. In this article there is proposed new strewn field definition for Morasko meteorite, based on elongation of all known and unconfirmed (yet) craters. Surprisingly, estimated (redefined) pre-impact trajectory gives convincing explanation for bilaterally symmetrical distribution of documented findings.

In this article, a circular photonic crystal fiber based chemical sensor has been presented where core region is designed with an array of elliptical holes. The proposed structure is numerically investigated by using a full vectorial finite element method. From the numerical results, it is observed that introducing an array of elliptical holes helps to obtain the high relative sensitivity and realizes a low confinement loss. In addition, the increase in the value of the diameter of holes in the innermost ring enhances the relative sensitivity. Moreover, the increase in the value of the diameter of holes in the outermost ring reduces the confinement loss. In this work, we have considered an industrially valuable chemical ethanol. Simulation results disclose that the highest relative sensitivity of proposed photonic crystal fiber is 29.25% for ethanol and the confinement loss is 7.68 × 10–7 dB/m at the wavelength 1.5 µm.

Opis:
The through-thickness crack or surface crack in PE100 pipes subjected to internal pressure represents a serious risk to the structural integrity of HDPE pipes, which has attracted wide attention in modern industry. Although experimental research offers reliable predictions of surface crack influence on pipes, the relatively high cost hinders its application. The numerical simulation, as a cost-effective alternative, has been widely applied to assess stress displacement and strain to the entire pipe structure. This is the initial approach adopted in recent decades. This article provides simulations tests of an uncracked pipe and cracked PE100 pipe under different internal pressure values, with varying each time the dimensions of the crack with 1 mm rate for minor and major radius and 0.5mm rates for the largest contour radius, using ANSYS MECHANICAL STRUCTURAL STATIC for simulation.

Opis:
Numerous contemporary studies and experimental measurements regarding the human hip joints indicate, that femoral head is, in fact naturally elliptical. Therefore the femoral elliptical complete prosthesis as well half prosthesis must be better adapted to the natural hip joint with elliptical bonehead and neck of the femur. Half prostheses of hip joint are applied when joint acetabulum cartilage is well maintained. In the half prosthesis the head is welded to the spindle or seated to the pin. When acetabulum cartilage is worn (used) a complete prosthesis is implanted. The elliptical femoral prosthesis was designed for solving the problem of the relationship between the femoral prosthesis head and the anatomical acetabulum and to minimize the various incidence namely wear protrusion and pain effects. Performed clinical tests indicate that elliptical prosthesis head have the most advanced technological shapes because are based on the anatomy and biomechanics features of the natural human hip joint. The biomechanics of an elliptical head femoral prosthesis, can be taken as the appropriate shape in the respect to the treatment of medical fractures of the neck of the femur. Taking into account the hydrodynamic theory of lubrication of cooperating surfaces we must finally find pressure distributions, friction forces, friction coefficients and wear. To prepare this calculations we ought at first determine and calculate the fields of the regions of lubrication on the internal surface lying on the elliptical femoral prosthesis (i.e. acetabulum) and on the external elliptical surface of the artificial bone or femoral head. Surface lubrication regions consists of the sums of elliptical triangle which are lying on the abovementioned surface. The coordinates of each tree points lying on the elliptical surfaces are measured by means of Atomic Force Microscope (AFM). In this paper are determined the formulas for the field calculations of elliptical triangle with the three vertexes (points) for coordinates which are foreseen measured.
Liczne badania współczesne poparte badaniami doświadczalnymi dotyczącymi stawów biodrowych człowieka wykazują, że głowa kości udowej ma w rzeczywistości kształt eliptyczny. Dlatego też zarówno całkowita, jak i połowicza proteza stawu biodrowego o kształcie eliptycznym jest lepiej adaptowana przez rzeczywistą głowę kostną, czyli nasadę bliższą kości udowej w porównaniu z protezami o powierzchniach sferycznych. Protezy połowicze stosujemy w przypadkach, gdy chrząstka panewki jest jeszcze dobrze zachowana i nie uległa procesom zwyrodnieniowym. Jeśli chrząstka panewki jest zużyta, to wtedy implantujemy całkowitą protezę. Eliptyczna endoproteza rozwiązuje cały szereg problemów natury mechanicznej, geometrycznej oraz medyczno-anatomicznej związanych ze współpracą głowy kostnej z powierzchnią panewki, między innymi zmniejsza zużycie powierzchni oraz efekty bólu w trakcie rehabilitacji. Przeprowadzone badania kliniczne wykazują, że protezy eliptyczne mają kształty bardziej przydatne w porównaniu z kształtami sferycznymi, ponieważ dostosowują się bardziej do anatomicznych oraz biomechanicznych właściwości naturalnych stawów biodrowych człowieka. Biomechanika dotycząca protez eliptycznych stawu biodrowego człowieka jest stosownym narzędziem identyfikacji zabiegów medycznych w przypadku złamań nasady bliższej stawu biodrowego. Biorąc pod uwagę hydrodynamiczną teorię smarowania współpracujących powierzchni stawu biodrowego człowieka wyznaczamy ciśnienie hydrodynamiczne, siłę nośną, siły tarcia oraz zużycie. Celem wykonania tych obliczeń wyznaczamy pole obszaru smarowania na wewnętrznej powierzchni eliptycznej protezy panewki udowej oraz na zewnętrznej eliptycznej powierzchni głowy. Obszar powierzchni smarowania składa się z sumy eliptycznych trójkątów leżących na omawianych powierzchniach. Współrzędne trzech punktów stanowiących wierzchołki eliptycznych trójkątów zostały pomierzone mikroskopem sił atomowych (AFM). W niniejszej pracy przedstawiono wzory do wyznaczania powierzchni trójkątów eliptycznych po wykorzystaniu współrzędnych punktów trzech pomierzonych uprzednio wierzchołków.

Współczesne badania eksperymentalne wyposażone w mikroskopy najnowszej generacji potwierdzają, że głowy stawu biodrowego człowieka są z natury nie sferyczne lecz eliptyczne. Kształt elipsoidy jest formowany zazwyczaj cieńszą lub grubszą warstewką chrząstki stawowej na powierzchni głowy. Badania laboratoryjne potwierdzają, że warstewka chrząstki stawowej jest najszersza na górnym biegunie a najcieńsza na równiku. Przez górny biegun eliptycznej głowy a zarazem wzdłuż najdłuższej półosi elipsoidy przebiega oś szyjki uda. Ze względu na minimalną wartość oporów tarcia najkorzystniejszy jest obrót głowy kostnej biodra po kierunku równoleżnika, czyli po kierunku równika, ponieważ bryła elipsoidy kostnej jest obrotowa. Inne kierunki obrotu są również możliwe ale odznaczają się między innymi zwiększonymi oporami tarcia spowodowanymi minimalną różnicą długości półosi elipsy w przekrojowej płaszczyźnie obrotu elipsoidalnej głowy kostnej. Praca niniejsza przedstawia niektóre aspekty konstrukcji i eksploatacji w zakresie współpracy powierzchni eliptycznych endoprotezy stawu biodrowego, jak również omówione zostaną korzyści wynikające ze współpracy połowiczej endoprotezy eliptycznej z eliptyczną głową kostną. W przypadku zniszczonej panewki wszczepienie eliptycznej endoprotezy połowiczej panewki ułatwia współpracę z eliptyczną głową kostną.
The presented paper shows and gives the reasons for the contemporary failures occurring in alloplastic (human hip joint prosthesis) performances such as the locally boosted friction forces and stresses and breaks of the prosthesis pin. This paper was motivated by the application of a spherical rather than elliptical head of a prosthesis that is not sufficiently adapted to the elliptical geometry of the natural acetabulum surfaces. The negative effects are enlarged by the stochastic standard effects occurring during the prosthesis exploitation. Numerous contemporary studies and experimental measurements regarding the human hip joints indicate that the femoral head is in fact naturally elliptical. Therefore, the elliptical head in hip prosthesis must be better adapted to the elliptical surface geometry of the natural acetabulum in comparison with the spherical head. Half prostheses of hip joints are applied when joint acetabulum cartilage is well maintained. In the half prosthesis, the head is welded to the spindle or seated to the pin. Artykuł został opracowany na podstawie wyników modelowania numerycznego ładunków kumulacyjnych z różnymi typami wkładek eliptycznych (trąbkowych). Zamodelowano trzy geometrie ładunków kumulacyjnych z wkładkami eliptycznymi, które porównano do modelu klasycznego ładunku kumulacyjnego z wkładką stożkową. Ładunki porównano pod względem maksymalnego ciśnienia podczas detonacji ładunku, prędkości strumienia kumulacyjnego, uzyskanej energii kinetycznej oraz długości strumienia kumulacyjnego po czasie 15 µs. Celem modelowania ładunków kumulacyjnych z wkładkami eliptycznymi była poprawa parametrów zabiegu perforacji w odwiertach naftowych. Wykonanie perforacji to kluczowy element, dzięki któremu możliwe jest zapoczątkowanie produkcji w danym złożu węglowodorów. Perforacja ma na celu wykonanie serii otworów prostopadłych do osi odwiertu, przebijających ścianki rur okładzinowych, cementu oraz skałę złożową, aby połączyć hydraulicznie otwór wiertniczy i złoże węglowodorów. Pożądane są jak najdłuższe otwory perforacyjne, które wraz ze wzrostem długości lepiej udostępniają złoże. Obecnie do perforacji wykorzystuje się ładunki osiowosymetryczne ze stożkowymi wkładkami kumulacyjnymi wykonanymi z proszków miedzi, które osiągają prędkość strumienia kumulacyjnego na poziomie 7000 m/s i penetrują do 1 m calizny skalnej przy sprzyjających warunkach. Zamodelowane ładunki kumulacyjne z wkładkami eliptycznymi osiągnęły znacznie lepsze wartości ciśnienia, prędkości maksymalnej, energii kinetycznej oraz długości po czasie dla strumienia kumulacyjnego w porównaniu do wyników modelowania strumienia powstałego z klasycznego ładunku kumulacyjnego. Należy jednak pamiętać, że aby potwierdzić skuteczność przebijania celów przez zamodelowane ładunki kumulacyjne, należałoby wykonać ich fizyczne modele i poddać je testom na poligonie doświadczalnym.

In this paper a numerical study of natural convection of stationary laminar heat transfers in a horizontal ring between a heated square inner cylinder and a cold elliptical outer cylinder is presented. A Cu-water nanofluid flows through this annular space. Different values of the Rayleigh number and volume fraction of nanoparticles are studied. The system of equations governing the problem was solved numerically by the fluent calculation code based on the finite volume method and on the Boussinesq approximation. The interior and exterior surfaces are kept at constant temperature. The study is carried out for Rayleigh numbers ranging from 310 to 510. We have studied the effects of different Rayleigh numbers and volume fraction of nanoparticles on natural convection. The results are presented as isotherms, isocurrents, and local and mean Nusselt numbers. The aim of this study is to study the influence of the thermal Rayleigh number and volume fraction of nanoparticles on the heat transfer rate.

A complete three-dimensional and single phase model for proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cells was used to investigate the effect of using different channels geometry on the performances, current density and gas concentration. The proposed model was a full cell model, which includes all the parts of the PEM fuel cell, flow channels, gas diffusion electrodes, catalyst layers and the membrane. Coupled transport and electrochemical kinetics equations were solved in a single domain; therefore no interfacial boundary condition was required at the internal boundaries between cell components. This computational fluid dynamics code was employed as the direct problem solver, which was used to simulate the three-dimensional mass, momentum, energy and species transport phenomena as well as the electron- and proton-transfer process taking place in a PEMFC. The results showed that the predicted polarization curves by using this model were in good agreement with the experimental results and a high performance was observed by using circle geometry for the channels of anode and cathode sides. Also, the results showed that the performance of the fuel cell improved when a rectangular channel was used.

This paper presents a simple exact solution for coupled nonlinear free vibration analysis of Multilayer Graphene Sheets (MLGS) using elliptical functions. Though elliptical functions are used in nonlinear dynamics, they are employed to find the exact solution of a coupled system for the first time. The nonlinear dynamic equation including geometric nonlinearity and Eringen nonlocal theory is uncoupled by elliptical functions, and exact solutions for simply supported boundary conditions are obtained. The results are compared with the harmonic balance method. The nonlinear frequency of MLGS is studied for its effects with a small scale parameter, and the linear and nonlinear van der Waals force.

Opis:
Massive multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) and beamforming are key technologies, which significantly influence on increasing effectiveness of emerging fifth-generation (5G) wireless communication systems, especially mobile-cellular networks. In this case, the increasing effectiveness is understood mainly as the growth of network capacity resulting from better diversification of radio resources due to their spatial multiplexing in macro- and micro-cells. However, using the narrow beams in lieu of the hitherto used cell-sector brings occurring interference between the neighboring beams in the massive-MIMO antenna system, especially, when they utilize the same frequency channel. An analysis of this effect is the aim of this paper. In this case, it is based on simulation studies, where a multi-elliptical propagation model and standard 3GPP model are used. We present the impact of direction and width of the neighboring beams of 5G new radio gNodeB base station equipped with the multi-beam antenna system on the interference level between these beams. The simulations are carried out for line-of-sight (LOS) and non-LOS conditions of a typical urban environment.

This paper presents the results of measurements of the elliptical distribution of seismic vibrations generated during rock blasting. The technical safety of a building in the area of seismic vibrations is determined by the vibration velocity that does not exceed the line B included in zone II of the scale of dynamic influences [SWD]. The hypothesis proved in the paper is that for both elliptical and circular distributions of the vibration velocity in rock mining with blasting material [BM] there is a directionality of the horizontal radial component Vx and the tangential component Vy of the vibration velocity. The magnitude of the components Vx and Vy of the vibration velocity at the same distance from the vibration source depends on the directional angle "α" between the line of the blast holes and the line connecting the centre of the surface of the rock block being mined with [BM] and the place of measurement. The elliptical shapes of the graphs Vx and Vy obtained during the mining of the BM of the basalt deposit, which depend on the value of the directional angle, were compared with the shape of the circular velocity graphs Vx and Vy. New correlations are given that take into account the directional angle when calculating the maximum vibration velocity values needed to determine the damage caused to a bulding by the SWD.A dynamic impact scale [SWD] for the assessment of building damage as the vibration velocity acting on the building increases is given and discussed. Vibration velocity diagrams measured during the excavation of BM rock are presented for circular distributions in accordance with theoretical predictions. A vibration velocity diagram for an elliptical distribution, inconsistent with a circular distribution, measured during the excavation of BM rock is presented. It is shown that the directionality of the horizontal radial and tangential components of vibration velocity exists for both circular and elliptical distribution of vibration velocity in rock excavation with BM. In the conclusions, for the elliptical velocity field of the vibrations, the conditions to be observed in order to be able to direct the smallest vibrations towards the built up area are given.
