The purpose of this quantitative study was to investigate the relationship between students’ skills in multiple representations of fractions and self-efficacy beliefs about the usage of the multiple representations of fractions. 232 6th, 7th and 8th grade students, attending three elementary schools in Turkey’s three provinces, Erzurum, Rize and Trabzon, participated in the study. “Multiple representation of fractions flexibility test” which had three sub-dimensions as recognition, conversion and problem solving, and “Beliefs about the use of multiple representations questionnaire” were administered to the students. The data indicated that there was a significant relationship between the students’ multiple representation skills and self-efficacy beliefs about the use of multiple representations. Particularly, conversion skill was found to be a powerful predictor of self-efficacy beliefs of students towards multiple representations.

Numbers are fundamental mathematical concepts that underlie various other mathematical principles. This research investigates the relationship between number sense and the numeracy abilities of fifth-grade elementary school students. A cross-sectional survey method was used, with 205 respondents voluntarily participating. The results showed a reciprocal relationship between number sense and numeracy in elementary school students. Emphasising number sense can enhance flexibility in numeracy solutions. Number sense can be developed through assigning math tasks related to the students' environment or associating it with other learning processes. The study emphasises the importance of number sense in the primary school mathematics curriculum.

This study aimed to investigate the effects of a digital citizenship learning model on elementary school students’ digital citizenship and academic interests. Two sixth-grade classes were chosen for the study. The experimental group (n=20) received instruction using the model, while the control group (n=20) received traditional lecture-based instruction. The results demonstrated that the experimental group showed statistically significant improvements in digital citizenship and academic interests compared to the control group. This study firmly established that digital citizenship learning models effectively enhance elementary school students’ digital citizenship and academic interests.

With the rapid development of Augmented Reality (AR), an increasing number of studies has been conducted to explore the effectiveness of this technology in the field of education. Few, however, have examined how AR might influence EFL (English as a Foreign Language) learners’ vocabulary learning efficiency. To fill in this gap in the literature, the purpose of this study is to compare traditional English flash cards with the vocabulary learning method of Augmented Reality to see which English vocabulary learning is more efficient for elementary school students. The study was conducted at an elementary school in Taiwan, and the participants were 66 third grade pupils in total. The study was conducted at two stages in terms of data collection. At the first stage, the control and experimental groups took the same English vocabulary test without any teacher instruction as a pretest. At the second stage, the control group used flashcards to learn 20 target English words by themselves in 30 minutes. The experimental group adopted the Augmented Reality 3D effect of 20 target words by themselves in 30 minutes. After that, both groups took the same English vocabulary test again as a posttest. On the whole, Augmented Reality teaching effects apparently excel the effects of the traditional vocabulary learning methods. The results of this study have shown that the learning method of Augmented Reality was more efficient than the learning method using English flash cards at various proficiency levels (high, intermediate, and low) in terms of English vocabulary learning. The learning method of English flash cards had significant differences in high and low level groups as well as intermediate and low level groups, with the exceptions of high and intermediate level groups. It is worth improving children’s English vocabulary learning by using Augmented Reality in their daily lives in terms of mobile learning.

This study investigated dimensions of academic performance, learning motivation and learning attitudes by adapting peer tutoring as the major EFL classroom activities in an elementary school classroom. Exams, classroom observation, exit survey and comments after each class were administered as the source of research data. Results indicated that peer tutoring has a positive effect on tutors’ and tutees’ academic performance due to the increase in students’ grades. Students’ learning motivation and attitudes toward EFL learning also increased significantly. On the whole, the use of peer tutoring significantly contributed to better English ability, motivation and attitude.

This paper examines the relationship between students’ listening comprehension skills and their opinions and interest in learning English. The participants were 514 ninth-grade students in public elementary schools in the Republic of Kosovo. A standardised listening comprehension test was used to assess students’ listening skills, followed by a questionnaire covering a range of opinions and interest in learning English. The results indicate a significant positive correlation between proficiency in English listening and factors such as interest in learning English, perception of English as a motivating skill, and lower levels of learning difficulty. In addition, favouring a dedicated language school for learning English was found to be a significant factor in English listening proficiency.

This study aims to analyse the validity and reliability of instruments to assess students’ perceptions of the lecture approach in the form of Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT). The quantitative method with a survey research design was carried out using purposive sampling of all sixth-semester students from various cross-cultural and regional areas in Indonesia. The overall total of research subjects was 238. The non-test instrument consisted of 23 items grouped into three components. Content validity was carried out by focus group discussions involving experts in learning strategies, psychology, education, and culture. Construct validity was formed in three components, each with a p-value in the fit category. Moreover, the reliability was calculated using Cronbach’s Alpha scoring 0.946 for all items.

The purpose of this article is to present research conducted in Poland enabling the evaluation of the structure and level of perceptual musical abilities of thirdgrade students finishing their early-school education. The evaluation was based on A. Weiner’s Test of Perceptual Musical Abilities which examines important areas of music perception, including the complex structure of the abilities. The research presented herein is unique and the analysis of differences in gender-related results provides essential information on the strong and weak aspects of the skills. The research does not confirm the numerous reports indicating the superiority of girls in music tests.

The presented article was an attempt to explore the differential concept building by teaching students of the elementary level through activity-based instruction. An experiment was conducted in a public sector secondary school on students of grade 6 in teaching of social studies. The major finding of the current showed that concept building was made easier and understandable by teaching students with the use of activity-based instruction as compared to lecture-based instruction in teaching of social studies. It was further explored that the academic achievement of students taught with the use of activity-based instruction was significantly better than that of students taught with the use of lecture-based instruction. Therefore, it was suggested that the effects of activity-based instruction can be investigated by teaching other subjects using this method and teachers may be trained in how to teach their respective subjects with the use of the activity-based teaching method.

Wstęp: Znak graficzny piramidy żywieniowej ewoluuje w mediach. Na stronach internetowych można znaleźć wiele obrazów piramidy wzorowanych na amerykańskich bądź polskich wzorach. Pojawiają się również wersje kierowane do dzieci i młodzieży. Cel pracy: Wpływ obrazu graficznego piramidy żywieniowej na wiedzę uczniów 4-6 klas szkoły podstawowej. Materiał i metody: Ewaluacja wyników edukacji żywieniowej prowadzonej wśród 370 uczniów szkół podstawowych (klasy 4-6). W interpretacji uzyskanych wyników posłużono się testem statystycznym chi-kwadrat. Przyjęto poziom istotności statystycznej p=0,05. Wyniki: Analiza uzyskanych wyników wykazała, że jedynie 32,0% respondentów spożywa na co dzień 4-5 posiłków. Po edukacji 51,1% (przed prelekcją 49,9%) badanej populacji wykazuje dobrą znajomość piramidy żywieniowej. Częściej dziewczynki wykazują się większą znajomością piramidy żywieniowej po przeprowadzonej ewaluacji. Wnioski: Młode osoby są grupą szczególnie narażoną na wpływy mediów i środowiska dlatego ważne jest by zwiększyć ich wiedzę na temat dozwolonej lub zalecanej ilości produktów spożywczych w codziennym jadłospisie.
Introduction: The graphic image of the food pyramid has been evolving in the media. Many representations of the food pyramid based on Polish or American models can be found on websites. Models directed towards children and youth also exist. Aim of the study: To determine the influence of a graphic representation of the food pyramid on primary school students in grades 4-6. Material and methods: To evaluate the results of nutrition education conducted with 370 primary school students (grades 4-6). The chi-square statistical test was used for the interpretation of the results. A level of statistical significance of p=0.05 was adopted. Results:The analysis of the obtained results revealed that only 32.0% of the respondents eat 4-5 meals every day. Following instruction, 51.1% of the study population display good knowledge of the food pyramid (compared to 49.9% preceeding instruction). Girls more often display better knowledge of the food pyramid after the evaluation. Conclusion: Young people comprise the group which is particularly exposed to the influence of the media and the environment, which is why it is important to improve their knowledge of the permissible and recommended quantities of food products in their daily diet.

Quadrilaterals are more difficult than triangles for some students of elementary schools. This pilot study compares knowledge of quadrilateral of pupils of elementary schools and pupils of the same age at grammar schools. Some students prefer algebra to geometry, because it includes practical problems. The aim of this pre-research is to find out differences in knowledge of quadrilaterals between pupils of elementary and grammar schools.
