The subject of this article contains selected methods of optimization of educational work using selected computer tools, such as e-learning. The use of information technologies is a common feature of teaching methods, which include e-learning. Through a distance learning, teaching and learning process became accessible from anywhere, at any age and time. Virtual contact between the teacher and the student is in many cases far more convenient for both of them. Training and e-learning courses are very popular. They are carried out not only in school or academic environment but also in the business one. Distance education is used as a tool to support learning process, and its use may allow easy management of materials, allowing to create flexible educational methods.

The profession of social pedagogue is classified as a helping profession. Social pedagogues can prove their worth in various sectors and work with various target groups. The study analyses legislative possibilities and actual activities of social pedagogues in schools in Slovakia. Social pedagogues working in Slovak elementary and secondary schools carry out primary and secondary prevention, deal with pupils’ problem behaviour, screen for threatened pupils, provide counselling, actively work with pupils from socially disadvantaged environments, co-operate with pupils’ parents and with specialists. The author also briefly elucidates school preventive socio-educational work of social pedagogues in the other V4 countries comparable geographically, historically and culturally.

Social pedagogues’ activities in school have already been anchored in Slovak legislation. W artykule przedstawione zostały osiągnię-cia Landy-Tołwińskiej zarówno przez pryzmat jej prac badawczych jak i organiza-cyjnych związanych z podejmowaniem licznych działań oświatowych na rzecz do-rosłych, a szczególnie analfabetów. Autorka przywołuje w tekście liczne fragmenty narracji działaczki, które stanowią sugestywne dopełnienie opisu oraz interpretacji jej osiągnięć. W artykule została również ukazana Joanna Landy-Tołwińska we wspomnieniach oraz przedstawiono inspiracje dla współczesności, jakie można za-czerpnąć z jej pionierskiej pracy oświatowej.
The author of the text attempts to show the achievements of one of the pioneers of adult education, Joanna Landy-Tołwińska, whose main area of activity was the fight against illiteracy. The article presents Landy-Tołwińska's achieve-ments both from the point of view of her research, as well as her organizational work related to a number of educational activities for adults, especially the illiter-ate. The author cites numerous excerpts of narrative text by Landy-Tołwińska, which constitute a suggestive supplement to the description and interpretation of her achievements. The article shows Joanna Landy-Tołwińska in the memories of others and presents inspirations for the present, which can be derived from her pioneering educational work.

Niniejsza publikacja odzwierciedla potrzebę ciągłego monitorowania oraz precyzowania różnorodnych rozwiązań ukierunkowanych na kształcenie przyszłych nauczycieli. Aspekty pracy wychowawczej rozpatrywane na poziomie edukacji elementarnej stanowią ważny zakres działań. Nie tylko szeroki zasób wiedzy, ale również duże umiejętności wraz z kompetencjami społecznymi stają się podstawą bycia w przyszłości kompetentnym nauczycielem. W artykule starano się określić postrzeganie pracy wychowawczej przez przyszłych nauczycieli edukacji wczesnoszkolnej. Do najważniejszych zadań zaliczono ukazanie kompetencji oraz cech osobowych ważnych dla studentów oraz doprecyzowanie zakresu wiedzy dotyczącej działań wychowawczych podejmowanych w klasach I–III. Dalszy etap pozwolił na podkreślenie dostrzeganych trudności wraz z zasobem zainteresowań studentów podejmowania się wyzwań wychowawczych. Istotny element procedury badawczej uwzględniał analizę wypowiedzi opiekunów praktyk, wskazującą na umiejętności wychowawcze posiadane przez studentów.
This publication reflects the need for continuous monitoring and specifying various solutions aimed at educating future teachers. The aspects of educational work considered at the level of elementary education constitute an important scope of activities. Not only a wide range of knowledge, but also primary skills along with social competences become the basics for becoming a competent teacher. The article attempts to determine the perception of educational work by future teachers of early childhood education. The most important tasks included showing the competences and personal characteristics important for students and specifying the range of knowledge regarding educational activities undertaken in grades I–III. The next stage made it possible to highlight the perceived difficulties along with the range of student’s interests in taking up educational challenges. An important element of the research procedure included the analysis of the statements of internship supervisors demonstrating educational skills possessed by students.

The dominant feature of the modern socio-pedagogical paradigm is the integration of efforts, means and capabilities of various governmental and non-governmental organizations at all levels, including at the level of a territorial community, with the aim of carrying out socio-pedagogical work with children and youth, involving the subjects themselves in solving own issues, promoting their active participation in social life. Socio-pedagogical work with children and youth in a rural community presently gains a special importance. The condition of organization of leisure time, rest and children’s health in some rural communities is assessed as a crisis. Almost half of rural children have experience of drinking alcoholic beverages. In recent years, the illegal behaviour of children in communities has increased dramatically. In particular, the dynamics of involvement of rural children in criminal and other illegal activities by adults is increasing. Currently, the role of communities in solving social issues of territories, groups and individual citizens in modern conditions is growing. One of the tasks of government reform in modern Ukraine is to ensure the effectiveness of youth policy and social work with children and youth. The current situation is characterized by an acute need for an effective, scientifically based system of social education of children and youth, which could protect the new generation from the devastating consequences of the crisis that Ukraine is experiencing. The article emphasizes that a social pedagogue in a rural community is a specialist who carries out educational work with children, teenagers, young people, and adults. The purpose of his work is to create a favourable social climate for the development and socialization of an individual, as he/she is called to organize the interaction of educational institutions, the family, the public in order to create favourable conditions for revealing the creative and personal potential of his/her wards, to help them to solve issues that arise, contribute to the establishment of relations with the surrounding world, develop their personalities and teach self-education and self-improvement. The concept of a “community” was studied in various scientific sources. The attention is focused on the fact that the activity of a specialist in the socionomic sphere is somewhat different from traditional spheres of activity, s it has an integral character. It is emphasized that a modern highly developed society cannot do without professionally trained social pedagogues for activities in the rural community, as social pedagogues help children and youth of the village to solve issues that arise in their everyday life, first of all, those who are not socially protected.

Na przełomie XIX i XX wieku na Górnym Śląsku rozpoczął się rozwój organizacji polskich. Zamieszkała w tym regionie ludność polskojęzyczna była pozbawiona możliwości edukacji w języku ojczystym. Dlatego organizacje społeczno-kulturalne podejmowały działania kompensujące brak szkoły polskiej oraz rozbudzające poczucie przynależności narodowej mieszkańców regionu. W okresie od roku 1899 do 1914 było ich ponad 200. Stawiały sobie jako cel główny obronę polskości na terenach zamieszkałych przez ludność polskojęzyczną. Realizowano to poprzez upowszechnianie wiedzy, inspirowanie różnych form pracy kulturalnej i oświatowej. Do szczególnie popularnych można zaliczyć akcje odczytowe, prowadzone przez wszystkie organizacje polskie, kursy języka polskiego. Na uwagę zasługuje też dbałość o rozwój czytelnictwa wśród ludności polskiej, poprzez zakładanie polskich biblioteczek w różnych miejscowościach Śląska Opolskiego. Młodzież preferowała uczestnictwo w teatrach amatorskich, które w okresie zimowym wystawiały różne sztuki teatralne. Organizowano wycieczki do Krakowa, Częstochowy, a w czasie karnawału odbywały się zabawy towarzyskie. W ten sposób przeciwstawiano się wpływom niemieckim. W artykule przedstawiono niektóre organizacje i formy ich pracy kulturalno-oświatowej.
At the turn of the 19th and the 20th centuries in Upper Silesia, the development of Polish organizations began. The Polish-speaking population inhabiting the region were deprived of the possibility of being educated in their mother tongue. Therefore, the socio-cultural organizations undertook actions to compensate for the lack of Polish schools, as well as ones which were meant to revive the feeling of national belonging among the native inhabitants of the region. In the period between 1899 and 1914 there were over 200 of them and their main objective was to defend and preserve the Polish character in the areas inhabited by the Polish-speaking population. It was realized through popularizing knowledge and inspiring various forms of cultural and educational work. The particularly popular actions comprised lectures, which were run by all the Polish organizations, as well as courses of the Polish language. Attention should also be paid to the concern for the development of readership among the Polish population, which manifested itself in setting up Polish libraries in various places of Opole Silesia. The young preferred to take part in activities of amateur theatres which – in the winter season – staged different plays. Excursions to Krakow and Częstochowa were organized, while community parties were held during the carnival season and in this way German influences were opposed. The article presents some of the organizations and forms of their cultural and educational work.

An inclusive education updates the dialogue between the intact population and the disadvantaged population. Artistic literature can help at an early age already in the barriers removal that thematizes various types of disadvantaged people in society. In the introduction, the author briefly explains the topicality of inclusive education and outlines the purpose and methodological aspects of the work. The main part of the study analyses the portrayal of child character with somatic and social disadvantage in the contemporary literature for pre-school and younger school age (Alexandra Salmela: Mimi and Lisa, Gabriela Futová: About the Hairless, Peter Karpinský: Adela, do not even try it!). In the conclusion, the author confronts the selected texts in terms of: 1. the authenticity degree of psychological gripping of disadvantaged characters; 2. the attitude thematization of intact population to the disadvantaged characters; 3. levels and methods of literary thematized problem; 4. the educational text's potential in relation to the formation of accepting educational environment in pre-primary and primary education.

Zamierzeniem podstawowym jest ukazanie podstaw, na których opiera się jakość i wartość codziennej pracy nauczycieli, wychowawców i pedagogów, a także wskazanie celów i efektów, jakie są lub mogą być realizowane. Punktem wyjścia jest odwołanie się do powszechnych dzisiaj form mierzenia efektów edukacji, które uznawane są często za wskaźniki jej jakości.
This paper seeks to highlight the contribution of the Aristotelian tradition in order to understand human action, and especially the education act that has a place within educational institutions. The goal is to find the implications, on the one hand, for the quality of professional work performed by educators and teachers, and, secondly, for the goals that should be reached. As a context of reflection, some national and international assessment’s practices of educational outcomes that are performed on national and international level are taken into account.

Opis:
Child foster care organized by nuns and meant for children deprived of infamily upbringing dates back as far as the 13 century. The prototypes of orphanages run by nuns were medieval hospitals, that is care institutions for all those in need. The beginnings of care/educational work with orphaned and abandoned children are connected with the activity of The Holy Spirit de Saxia male congregation, whose members were called “duchaki” in Poland. Since the 16 century the members of the Sisters of Mercy and Sisters of Charity congregations have specialized in institutional foster care. In nationally sovereign Druga Rzeczpospolita orphanages run by nuns were numerous and they were characterized by relative financial stability, the continuity of educational processes and creativity in finding new solutions to be used in the work with the children who were cared for.

Celem prowadzonych badań uczyniono diagnozę poczucia odpowiedzialności pedagogów szkolnych, które będzie się wyrażać stanem w ich świadomości (rozumieniem odpowiedzialności, identyfikacją jej źródeł, znaczeniem, jakie ma ona w ich życiu, stopniem zinternalizowania cech odpowiedzialnego pedagoga), a także gotowością ponoszenia odpowiedzialności za różne aspekty pracy opiekuńczo-wychowawczej z młodzieżą szkolną. Badaniami prowadzonymi metodą sondażu diagnostycznego objęto 294 pedagogów szkolnych. Uzyskane wyniki wskazują na właściwie ukształtowane poczucie ich odpowiedzialności zawodowej.
Responsible acting in the educational work means being aware of your own duties and methods of their implementation and taking into account consequences of your own pedagogical behaviour. The purpose of the research was to diagnose the sense of responsibility of school teachers, which will be expressed by the state of their consciousness (understanding of responsibility, identification of its sources, the importance it has in their lives, the degree of internalization of characteristics of a responsible teacher), as well as readiness to assume responsibility for various aspects of care and educational work with school youth. The research carried out with a diagnostic survey method covered 294 school teachers. The results obtained indicate a properly formed sense of professional responsibility.
