In this article, the author analyzes eco-education from a transdisciplinary perspective, as part of the “new education”, referring to its current dimensions, its goals and its utility in shaping the attitudes and behaviors of contemporary humans towards their environment and towards sustainable living. The goals and content of eco-education are dependent on a new philosophy, on a new axiological and ethical orientation that is, opposed to rationalistic philosophy, which guided the age of machinism and industrialization. The new view regarding humans’ (anthroposphere) relations with nature (biosphere and geosphere), is inspired from the fundamental rights of the human being, as part of nature, from universal values which harmonize sociosphere and biosphere, the ecological awareness of contemporary society with regard to the objective laws of nature, biodiversity conservation and environmental protection by juridical laws. These goals are meant for the entire population, especially children and young people, with the aid of schools and other educational factors (church, mass – media, cultural foundations, non-governmental organizations etc.), an ecological awareness, positive feelings and attitudes with respect to the environment, skills, abilities and capacities for efficient action in the sense of protecting nature and conserving ecological circuits. The author lays an emphasis on the idea that ecological education, in all its forms, will not yield the results expected by experts and future generations if it is undertaken randomly, fragmentarily, incoherently – regardless of how diversified and quantitatively extended it might be. As a global issue of today’s society – the efficiency of eco-education is dependent on the philosophy of nature and life, materialized in a global strategy, such as that of durable and knowledge-based development, which will facilitate the harmonization of various public policies launched by contemporary organizations and authorities. Generally speaking, any public policy has an ecological component, and the obtainment of performance in ecological policies necessarily involves an adequate ecological education.

W artykule „Estetyka negatywna u podstaw eko-edukacji (edukacji środowiskowej)” przedstawiono kompleksową analizę związków zachodzących między estetyką negatywną a eko-edukacją. W pierwszej części artykułu, zatytułowanej „Estetyka negatywna – powstanie, rozwój, prekursorzy”, dokonano retrospektywnego spojrzenia na genezę estetyki negatywnej, jej ewolucję oraz prekursorów tego nurtu. W części drugiej, zatytułowanej „Estetyka negatywna u podstaw eko-edukacji – nakreślenie problemu” przedstawiono, w jaki sposób estetyka negatywna przenika do obszaru eko-edukacji i jakie ma dla niej znaczenie. W ostatniej części przedstawiono konkretne przykłady, czy obszary, w których estetyka negatywna wpływa na rozwój eko-edukacji. Celem artykułu było wykazanie, w jaki sposób estetyka negatywna może być wykorzystana jako inspirujące narzędzie w procesie uczenia się na temat zmian zachodzących w środowisku naturalnym oraz w jaki sposób może się przyczynić do kształtowania ekologicznej świadomości społeczeństwa.
This article presents a comprehensive analysis of the relationships between negative aesthetics and eco-education. In the first part of the article a retrospective examination of the origins of negative aesthetics is conducted, showcasing its evolution and highlighting the pioneers of this movement. In the second chapter, titled "Negative Aesthetics at the Core of Eco-Education – Outlining the Issue," a closer look is taken at how negative aesthetics permeate the field of eco-education and its significance within this context. In the final section of the article, specific examples or areas where negative aesthetics influences the development of eco-education are presented.  The article demonstrates how negative aesthetics can be utilized as an inspiring tool in the learning process concerning changes occurring in the natural environment and can contribute to shaping ecological awareness within society.

The natural environment of a human being consists of natural ground (where one can find food) and a society (in which one lives). Additionally, the person constitutes his or her own environments. This article explains the process of shaping ecological awareness during the Second Republic of Poland (1918 – 1939) in the pages of the yearbook “Wierchy” printed in Lviv since 1923. “Wierchy” replaced the journal “Pamiętniki” (which had been published by the Polish Tatra Association until 1920). It was devoted to the issue of the problems of the mountains and its territory and culture – as an organ of the Polish Tatra Association (published by the General Management together with the Lviv branch of the Association). The editorial committee consisted of prof. dr Jan Gwalbert Pawlikowski (editor–in-chief), prof. dr Adolf Chybiński, prof. dr Walery Goetel, dr Roman Kordys, and Major Bronisław Romaniszyn. The yearbook included numerous scientific articles explaining the significance of the idea and practices for the protection of flora and fauna in the Tatra Mountains. The urgent need for the protection of the Tatra environment was described in the journal as was the cultural determinants of human relationships with nature using examples from scholarly, poetic and musical works which form Polish cultural heritage.

This paper explains the differences between the classic models of counselling/guidance and primary, vocational and initial university education on the one hand and the model open to all age groups and life sectors. Subsequently, it offers a survey of the development that research paradigms on the recognition of informal learning from life experience have undergone in the Francophone world over the last thirty years. Subsequently, assistance in adult education/guidance is discussed. The salient publications cited in the paper exemplify the evolution of views on and the extent and profundity of research within the experiential learning paradigm.

Due to initiative of both theGeological administration at Jaworzno's City hall as well as Polish Geological Institute-NRI Upper Silesian Branch, a project on the Sadowa Góra Eco-Geological Educational Centre facility has been realized. The project has been supported financially by the EU and its European Regional Development Fund under the Regional Operational Programme for the Silesian University and done in 2007–2013. The implementation of the programme was divided into two parts. The primary one concentrated on the comprehensive technical and educational exploitation of the old Sadowa Góra quarry. The secondary one consisted of plans to build an educational and museum-like facility. The educational centre is planned as a focal point of Jaworzno and its residents. The GEOsphere completion (phase I) ought to be achieved by May 2014.

One of the most important problems of the present day is the safety of the existence of a human being and his or her cultural, civilizational and environmental existence. The idea about what should be done in order to guarantee the safe existence of species is the reason for the discussion within the broad circles of those dealing with science and also philosophy, and in particular eco-philosophy. It is eco-philosophy that truly focuses on substantiating the ways of thinking as well as the rules governing the committed and well-thought actions related to the environmental protection. Educational initiatives for sustainable development are open to the influence of eco-philosophy. Therefore, the need to fill educational strategies and programs with the subtle philosophical “matter”, expressed in the form of values and related behavioral norms, opens a significantly large space for eco-philosophers and the eco-philosophy itself. It needs to be emphasized that the relation between the education for sustainable development and the activities aimed at strengthening the structures of the civil society creates additional interest on the part of numerous social entities as regards the philosophical discourse.

Opis:
Education for sustainable development requires a careful coordination of the education process of engineers and masters of science students at the product research faculties. An education programme including examples of eco–design of products creates an opportunity to train a new–generation graduates, capable of an extended perception of the manufactured products and commodities taking into account the categories of sustainable development. The article presents some examples of training activities carried out at the Faculty of Product research at the University of Economy in Cracow. Syllabuses comprising the subjects of environmental education including a broad interpretation of the sustainable development categories have been realised within two specialisations: product research and production management and engineering.

The protection of the environment is possible only in society that is aware of the problems concerning nature and properly educated. Ecological education has to include all elements related to existence of human on the Earth. The art plays an important role in ecological education. Artistic performances can provide information concerning environmental problems and can shape respectful attitude towards nature. The aim of the paper is to investigate the relations of two apparently contradictory notions that are nature and culture and to present artistic activities representing ecological art (eco-art) in Poland, derived from discussed relations. The paper attempts to prove that in spite of the fact that the very phrase nature and culture emphasizes rather the difference of incompatible things and not the common aspects of two, natural and cultural domains interpenetrate, influence, and inform each other. Owing to the interdisciplinary research each domain gains in depth and interest. The article concentrates as well on the analysis of the particular works of art of some Polish artists creating ecological art who are: Jaroslaw Kozakiewicz, Teresa Murak, and Jerzy Dmitruk. Despite the fact, that the term ecological art is not precise and therefore its status is not self-evident and self-apparent, the unifying factor of all activities of discussed artists is their common inspiration. Their origin is derived from authentic need of people to prevent tragic condition of our Planet. The aim of all ecological artistic activities is the call for environmental protection and reflection that causes change of lifestyle of the recipients.
Ochronę środowiska przyrodniczego można skutecznie realizować tylko w społeczeństwie uwrażliwionym na przyrodę i przyrodniczo wyedukowanym. Edukacja prośrodowiskowa musi łączyć w sobie wszystkie elementy związane z egzystencją człowieka na Ziemi. Sztuka jako forma edukacji ekologicznej spełnia wiele ról. Oddziaływanie przez sztukę stwarza możliwości dostarczania informacji na temat problemów środowiskowych i kształtowania postawy szacunku do przyrody. Celem tej pracy jest zbadanie relacji, zależności i punktów styku dwóch przeciwstawnych z pozoru pojęć, jakimi są natura (przyroda) i sztuka, oraz omówienie wynikających z tych relacji zjawisk artystycznych, wpisujących się w nurt sztuki ekologicznej na gruncie polskim. Praca próbuje udowodnić, że, pomimo iż samo wyrażenie natura i kultura podkreśla raczej różnice niewspółdziałających ze sobą zjawisk, a nie wzajemnych zależności, te dwie dziedziny informują się nawzajem i wpływają na siebie. Koncentruje się też na analizie wybranych działań artystycznych polskich artystów, którzy tworzą dzieła o charakterze ekologicznym. Praca przedstawia takich twórców sztuki ekologicznej w Polsce, jak: Jarosław Kozakiewicz, Teresa Murak i Jerzy Dmitruk. Mimo że termin sztuka ekologiczna nie jest precyzyjny i ma charakter umowny, to wyżej wymienionych artystów i dzieła sztuki ekologicznej łączy to, że wypływają one z autentycznej potrzeby ludzi i ekologicznie trudnej sytuacji Ziemi. Celem artystów jest głęboko ekologiczny przekaz, będący wezwaniem do działań w obronie Ziemi oraz refleksja dążąca ku zmianie stylu życia odbiorcy.

Aim: To evaluate the influence of educational attainment on the perception of ecological innovation was the main objective of the paper. The depth of attention paid to the interdisciplinary impact of innovations and education in society ultimately affects the level of the culture of education and whether the innovations that arise respect people and their environment. Design/methodology/approach: Input data gathered via survey of customers using the Kano questionnaire. The research applied the Kano model to data processing. The analysis allowed us to measure and explore the emotional reactions of Slovak customers to products. Findings: If multidisciplinary innovations positively affect the environmental, economic, and social development of society, they also tend to increase competitiveness of regions and lead to sustainability, development, and the knowledge economy. It can be concluded that the level of education achieved affects attitudes towards ecological innovation. The higher the education level of the respondents, the more sensitively they perceived the issue of eco-innovation. The interpretation of the results is a contribution to the discussion about the importance of education with an interdisciplinary overlap, as well as a view on innovation that respects individuals, society, and the environment. Research limitations/implications: Even though the results demonstrate the influence of the attitudes of Slovak customers depending on their educational attainment, it is necessary to verify whether they are reflected in real purchasing behavior. Originality/value: The originality of the research lies in the methodical approach of connecting the perception of ecological product innovations and the socio-demographic aspect (educational attainment) in the market conditions of the Slovak Republic.
Cel: celem artykułu była ocena wpływu poziomu wykształcenia na postrzeganie innowacji ekologicznych. Głębokość uwagi poświęcanej interdyscyplinarnemu wpływowi innowacji i edukacji w społeczeństwie ostatecznie wpływa na poziom kultury edukacji oraz szacunku powstających innowacji wobec ludzi i ich środowiska. Metodologia: dane wejściowe zebrano za pomocą ankiety przeprowadzonej wśród klientów przy użyciu kwestionariusza Kano. W badaniu zastosowano model Kano do przetwarzania danych. Analiza pozwoliła zmierzyć i zbadać emocjonalne reakcje słowackich klientów na produkty. Wyniki: w przypadku gdy multidyscyplinarne innowacje pozytywnie wpływają na środowiskowy, gospodarczy i społeczny rozwój społeczeństwa, mają one również tendencję do zwiększania konkurencyjności regionów i prowadzą do zrównoważonego rozwoju i gospodarki opartej na wiedzy. Można stwierdzić, że osiągnięty poziom wykształcenia wpływa na postawy wobec innowacji ekologicznych. Im wyższy poziom wykształcenia respondentów, tym bardziej wrażliwi byli na kwestię ekoinnowacji. Interpretacja wyników stanowi wkład w dyskusję na temat znaczenia interdyscyplinarnej edukacji, a także spojrzenie na innowacje, które szanują jednostki, społeczeństwo i środowisko. Oryginalność/wartość: oryginalność badań polega na metodycznym podejściu do łączenia postrzegania ekologicznych innowacji produktowych z aspektem społeczno-demograficznym (poziom wykształcenia) w warunkach rynkowych Słowacji.

Opis:
Ochronę środowiska przyrodniczego można skutecznie realizować tylko w uwrażliwionym na przyrodę i przyrodniczo wyedukowanym społeczeństwie. Edukacja prośrodowiskowa musi łączyć w sobie wszystkie elementy związane z egzystencją człowieka na Ziemi. Sztuka jako forma edukacji ekologicznej spełnia wiele ról. Oddziaływanie przez sztukę stwarza możliwości dostarczania informacji na temat problemów środowiskowych i kształtowania postawy szacunku do przyrody. Celem pracy jest zbadanie relacji, zależności i punktów styku dwóch przeciwstawnych z pozoru pojęć, jakimi są natura (przyroda) i sztuka, oraz omówienie wynikających z tych relacji zjawisk artystycznych, wpisujących się w nurt sztuki ekologicznej na gruncie polskim. Praca próbuje udowodnić, że, pomimo iż same słowa natura i kultura raczej podkreślają różnice niewspółdziałających ze sobą pojęć, a nie wzajemne zależności, to te dwie dziedziny informują się nawzajem i wpływają na siebie. Artykuł skupia się też na analizie wybranych działań artystycznych polskich artystów, którzy tworzą dzieła o charakterze ekologicznym. Praca przedstawia takich twórców sztuki ekologicznej w Polsce, jak: Jarosław Kozakiewicz, Teresa Murak i Jerzy Dmitruk. Mimo że termin sztuka ekologiczna nie jest precyzyjny i ma charakter umowny, to wyżej wymienionych artystów i dzieła sztuki ekologicznej łączy to, że wypływają one z autentycznej potrzeby ludzi i tragicznej sytuacji Ziemi. Ich celem jest głęboko ekologiczny przekaz, będący wezwaniem do działań w obronie Ziemi oraz refleksja dążącą ku zmianie stylu życia odbiorcy.
The protection of the environment is possible only in society that is aware of the problems concerning nature and properly educated. Ecological education has to include all elements related to existence of human on the Earth. The art plays an important role in ecological education. Artistic performances can provide information concerning environmental problems and can shape respectful attitude towards nature. The aim of the paper is to investigate the relations of two apparently contradictory notions that are nature and culture and to present, derived from discussed relations, artistic activities representing ecological art (eco-art) in Poland. The paper attempts to prove that in spite of the fact that the very phrase nature and culture emphasises rather the difference of incompatible things and not the common aspects of two, natural and cultural domains interpenetrate, influence, and inform each other. Their interdisciplinary studies, owing to interdisciplinary research each domain gains in depth and interest. It concentrates as well on the analysis of the particular works of art of Polish artist creating ecological art who are Jarosław Kozakiewicz, Teresa Murak, and Jerzy Dmitruk. Despite of the fact that the term ecological art is not precise and therefore its status is not self-evident and self-apparent, the unifying factor of all activities of discussed artists and ecological artistic activities is their common inspiration. Their origin is derived from authentic need of people to prevent tragic condition of our Planet. The aim of all ecological artistic activities is the call for environmental protection and reflection that causes change of lifestyle of the recipients.
