    Opis:
    Eco-aesthetics and ecological aesthetics of nature are closely related, twin disciplines having a similar, but not identical object of interest. Eco-aesthetics is a discipline which – in our opinion – focuses on the existing world of nature, nature intact by man or modified by him only to a limited extent (wilderness areas, natural ecosystems, nature and landscape parks). Eco-aesthetics would advocate simple acceptance of nature without arranging it, nature protected against anthropogenic impact distorting or modifying its original, existing beauty. And for these reasons eco-aesthetics is part of – or at least is close to – the biocentric vision of the world, in contrast to ecological aesthetics of nature, which fits more into the anthropocentric vision of reality. While eco-aesthetics is interested in nature understood autonomously in its original and existing form, ecological aesthetics of nature focuses more on the environment modified by man.
    Ekoestetyka i ekologiczna estetyka przyrody to bliskie, siostrzane dyscypliny o podobnym lecz nie tożsamym przedmiocie zainteresowań. Ekoestetyka to dyscyplina, która – naszym zdaniem – uwagę koncentruje na zastanym świecie natury, nietkniętej przyrodzie, bądź w ograniczonym tylko stopniu zmienionej przez człowieka (obszary dzikie, naturalne ekosystemy, parki przyrodnicze i krajobrazowe). Ekoestetyka opowiadałaby się za prostą akceptacją przyrody, bez jej aranżowania, chronionej przez wpływami antropogennymi, zniekształcającymi czy modyfikującymi pierwotne, zastane piękno. I z tych powodów ekoestetyka wpisuje się, albo przynajmniej bliska jest, biocentrycznej wizji świata, w przeciwieństwie do ekologicznej estetyki przyrody, która wpisuje się bardziej w antropocentryczny obraz rzeczywistości. O ile dla ekoestetyki przedmiotem zainteresowań jest przyroda pojęta autonomicznie w swej pierwotnej i zastanej postaci, to ekologiczna estetyka przyrody, bardziej kieruje uwagę ku przyrodniczemu, przetworzonemu otoczeniu człowieka.

    Opis:
    The article is devoted to the semantic and composition functions of the figure of a park/garden in Raymond Roussel’s novel Locus Solus. The issue discussed in this paper concerns a pretextual function of fictional space for the narration mode and sequential order of the novel. An attempt is made to supplement the dominant structuralist tradition of interpreting Roussel’s work, for example, with the concepts appearing in Maria Gołaszewska’s eco-aesthetic approach and Arnold Berleant’s environmental aesthetics. The proposed direction of reflections allows us to see in the rhetorical aspects of Roussel’s style, among which numerous hyperboles particularly attract the reader’s attention, a narrative method of anthropologically understood imaginary structures. These structures were based on the systems of objects, whose task, apart from rhetorical and cultural deluding, governed by the poetics of absurd, is to determine an anthropological point of observation in the very problem of visual experience connected with the walk in the park, intended by Roussel as an integral element of the plot. The article points out that the main problem of the novel is garden space seen from the perspective of visual anthropology, with the cultural pattern of an imaginary structure determined by the space. This space is given the function of disinterested narrating. According to the author of the proposed analyses, the meaning of such an understood visual metaphor is carried by two primary figures inscribed in the space of the garden: anamorphosis and ornament.

    The paper analyses the problems of interior designs calling for the need of reference to environmental stewardship, and their broad contribution to the high performance of indoor space, reduction in energy consumption, improvement in indoor environment quality characteristics, as well as effective resources management. These design objectives, as indicated in the article, may be realized through the accomplishment of products reclaim, salvage, direct reuse or adaptive reuse strategy. The fulfillment of this design strategy may involve the examination of possible formal or technical solutions to indoor environment in addition to the investigation into their redefined aesthetical and ethical values. Interior design concepts should confirm their authors’ consideration of the problem of extension of product technical life span, as being one of the essential sustainable design criterion. The product in this context may be understood as the structural or complementing component of indoor environment and the interior space, considered as a spatial entity. This demand may be accomplished through the consequent incorporation of reclaimed building materials, products or their forming parts into the newly conceived space and also the modified and adapted existing spaces. The article investigates the question of possible redistribution and reintroduction of reclaimed or salvaged products and components in interior space. It also deals with the problem of revision of conventional finishing materials concept, being the technique enabling the realization of imperatives of sustainability in design through the reduction of material resources, and the influence of these procedures on redefinition of interior eco-design aesthetics.
    Artykuł podejmuje zagadnienienia dotyczące współczesnego projektowania wnętrz architektonicznych, wymagającego podejmowania decyzji projektowych z uwzględnieniem wielowymiarowej kontekstualizacji środowiskowej, wpływającej na optymalizację sprawności przestrzeni wewnętrznej budynku, redukcję poziomu zużycia energii, udoskonalenie parametrów jakościowych środowiska wewnętrznego oraz efektywne zarządzanie surowcami materiałowymi. Wskazane cele projektowe, jak wykazano w artykule, mogą być osiągnięte poprzez realizację strategii odzyskania (reclaim) lub uratowania (salvage) materiału i produktu budowlanego przed destrukcją oraz jego ponownego bezpośredniego (reuse) lub adaptatywnego wykorzystania (adaptive reuse). Realizacja tej strategii może być przeprowadzona w oparciu o sprawdzenie możliwości rozwiązań formalnych i technicznych w kształtowaniu środowiska wewnętrznego wraz z próbą redefinicji ich wartości estetycznych i etycznych. Projekty wnętrz architektonicznych powinny potwierdzać świadomość projektantów znaczenia problemu wydłużania technicznego cyklu życia produktu, będącego zasadniczym kryterium zrównoważonego projektowania architektonicznego. Produkt w tym kontekście jest rozumiany jako strukturalny lub uzupełniający komponent środowiska wewnętrznego oraz jako przestrzenno-funkcjonalna całość. Ten postulat projektowy może być spełniony w wyniku konsekwentnej redystrybucji odzyskanych materiałów i produktów budowlanych w nowych realizacjach oraz obiektach modernizowanych. Artykuł analizuje zagadnienia formalne implementacji pozyskanych potencjalnych odpadów budowlanych w strukturę komponentów przestrzeni wewnętrznej oraz konieczność rewizji konwencjonalnych technik stosowanych w realizacji przegród wewnętrznych oraz ich okładzin wykończeniowych. Wskazuje znaczenie omawianej metody projektowej w realizacji paradygmatu zrównoważenia oraz definiowaniu pojęcia ekoestetyki.

    Umberto Eco's aesthetic theory shows a great continuity and coherence through decades. Both in Opera aperta (a pre-semiotic work published in 1962) and in Lector in fabula, inferential activity is at the very center of aesthetic experience and of interpretation in general. The musicological theory by Leonard B. Meyer was one of Eco's inspiration sources; it suggested the importance of this inferential activity and of the tensions it generates in producing emotional reactions to textual stimuli. But tensions are not the only way inferential activity contribute to aesthetic experience; tendencies too have an important role in it.
    Teoria estetyczna Umberto Eco wskazuje na swoją ciągłość i spójność przez dziesięciolecia. Zarówno w Opera aperta (pre-semiotycznej pracy opublikowanej w 1962 roku) oraz w ksiązce Lector in fabula wnioskowania znajduje się w samym centrum doświadczenia estetycznego i interpretacji w ogólności. Teoria muzykologiczna Leonarda B. Meyera była jednym z źródeł inspiracji Eco; sugeruje ona znaczenie wnioskowania oraz napięć, które generuje w produkcji emocjonalnych reakcji na bodźce tekstowe. Ale napięcia nie są jedynym sposobem funkcjonowania inferencji (wnioskowania) przyczyniającymi się do doświadczenia estetycznego; także tendencje odgrywają tu ważną rolę.

    W artykule „Estetyka negatywna u podstaw eko-edukacji (edukacji środowiskowej)” przedstawiono kompleksową analizę związków zachodzących między estetyką negatywną a eko-edukacją. W pierwszej części artykułu, zatytułowanej „Estetyka negatywna – powstanie, rozwój, prekursorzy”, dokonano retrospektywnego spojrzenia na genezę estetyki negatywnej, jej ewolucję oraz prekursorów tego nurtu. W części drugiej, zatytułowanej „Estetyka negatywna u podstaw eko-edukacji – nakreślenie problemu” przedstawiono, w jaki sposób estetyka negatywna przenika do obszaru eko-edukacji i jakie ma dla niej znaczenie. W ostatniej części przedstawiono konkretne przykłady, czy obszary, w których estetyka negatywna wpływa na rozwój eko-edukacji. Celem artykułu było wykazanie, w jaki sposób estetyka negatywna może być wykorzystana jako inspirujące narzędzie w procesie uczenia się na temat zmian zachodzących w środowisku naturalnym oraz w jaki sposób może się przyczynić do kształtowania ekologicznej świadomości społeczeństwa.
    This article presents a comprehensive analysis of the relationships between negative aesthetics and eco-education. In the first part of the article a retrospective examination of the origins of negative aesthetics is conducted, showcasing its evolution and highlighting the pioneers of this movement. In the second chapter, titled "Negative Aesthetics at the Core of Eco-Education – Outlining the Issue," a closer look is taken at how negative aesthetics permeate the field of eco-education and its significance within this context. In the final section of the article, specific examples or areas where negative aesthetics influences the development of eco-education are presented.  The article demonstrates how negative aesthetics can be utilized as an inspiring tool in the learning process concerning changes occurring in the natural environment and can contribute to shaping ecological awareness within society.

    The article discusses current trends in designing green and eco-friendly façades of buildings of different functions in Poland and around the world. Information collected on completed façade projects, associated research and conclusions formulated on the basis thereof, indicate trends and possibilities for the use of contemporary material solutions and technologies in designing various forms of vertical 'greenery’ which support sustainable development of urban areas. The main objective of the research was to identify the most important features of green façades as eco-friendly architectural solutions. A case study with descriptions of the features and qualitative elements of 100 of the most architecturally interesting buildings with characteristic external wall structures was constructed for research purposes. The sites selected for the case study represent a review of global trends. The data was then used for a multi-criteria analysis of green façade systems from the perspective of eco-friendly architectural solutions. The conducted research, analyses and discussions on solutions already in place were then implemented as guidelines for innovative architectural design solutions, which were presented at the Faculty of Architecture at Poznań University of Technology in the form of selected diagrams and student visualisations. These comprised highly aesthetic compositions, possible to implement in the near future.
