In this paper, the geometric distribution parameter is estimated under a type-I censoring scheme by means of the Bayesian estimation approach. The Beta and Kumaraswamy informative priors, as well as five loss functions are used for this purpose. Expressions of Bayes estimators and Bayes risks are derived under the Squared Error Loss Function (SELF), the Quadratic Loss Function (QLF), the Precautionary Loss Function (PLF), the Simple Asymmetric Precautionary Loss Function (SAPLF), and the DeGroot Loss Function (DLF) using the two aforementioned priors. The prior densities are obtained through prior predictive distributions. Simulation studies are carried out to make comparisons using Bayes risks. Finally, a real-life data example is used to verify the model’s efficiency.

In this paper we propose and test a composite generalizer of the Lomax distribution .The genesis of the beta distribution and transmuted map is used to develop the so-called beta transmuted Lomax (BTL) distribution. The properties of the distribution are discussed and explicit expressions are derived for the moments, mean deviations, quantiles, distribution of order statistics and reliability. The maximum likelihood method is used for estimating the model parameters, and the finite sample performance of the estimators is assessed by simulation. Finally, the authors demonstrate the usefulness of the new distribution in analysing positive data.

The aim of this study was to describe some parametric estimation methods for the Weibull, gamma and Gompertz distributions and to identify among them estimators the most efficient in practical applications. Techniques which are considered as traditional methods, like the maximum likelihood (MLE) and the method of moments (MM) estimation but also some newer and less commonly used techniques like the Lmoment estimator (LME), least-square estimator (LSE), generalized spacing estimator (GSE) and percentile estimator (PE) were presented. The application of each method was demonstrated in a simulation study using data sets generated for different distribution parameters and sample sizes. Discussed estimators were compared in terms of their efficiency and bias measured by mean-square errors (MSE) based on the simulations results.

In this paper, we study the class of inflated modified power series distributions (IMPSD) where inflation occurs at any of support points. This class includes among others the generalized Poisson,the generalized negative binomial and the lost games distributions. We derive the Bayes estimators of parameters for these distributions when a parameter of inflation is known. First, we take as the prior distribution the uniform, Beta and Gamma distribution. In the second part of this paper, the prior distribution is the generalized Pareto distribution.

The paper discusses studentized sample mean distribution. The sample is from exponential distribution. On the basis of independent replications of the samples empirical distributions studentized mean was calculated. The distance between the empirical distributions and the standard normal distribution was measured by means well known as statistics of Kolmogorov. Under the appropriate sample sizes the degree of the difference between the empirical and theoretical distributions was evaluated. Moreover, the hypothesis on normality of the empirical distributions was tested by means of the Kolmogorov test.

We define a multivariate negative binomial distribution (MVNB) as a bivariate Poisson distribution function mixed with a multivariate exponential (MVE) distribution. We focus on the class of MVNB distributions generated by Marshall-Olkin MVE distributions. For simplicity of notation we analyze in detail the class of bivariate (BVNB) distributions. The study describes the general concept of the XLindley distribution. Forms of density and hazard rate functions are investigated. Moreover, precise formulations for several numerical properties of distributions are derived. Extreme order statistics are established using stochastic ordering, the moment method, the maximum likelihood estimation, entropies and the limiting distribution. We demonstrate the new family's adaptability by applying it to a variety of real-world datasets.

W artykule opisano polski rynek węgla kamiennego oraz przedstawiono organizację dystrybucji węgla w przedsiębiorstwach górniczych. Analizy dokonano na przykładzie Katowickiego Holdingu Węglowego. Jej wyniki pozwoliły na wskazanie sposobów kierowania dystrybucją umożliwiających przedsiębiorstwom przetrwanie na konkurencyjnym rynku.
The paper describes Polish coal market and presents the organization of the coal distribution in mining companies. Presented analysis was conducted on the example of Katowicki Holding Węglowy. The results allowed the authors to identify methods of distribution that will enable companies to survive in a competitive market.

The article presents a new probability distribution, created by compounding the Poisson distribution with the weighted exponential distribution. Important mathematical and statistical properties of the distribution have been derived and discussed. The paper describes the proposed model's parameter estimation, performed by means of the maximum likelihood method. We develop a new class of distributions, namely, the odd power generalizedWeibull-G power series (OPGW-GPS) class of distributions. We present some special classes of the proposed distribution. Structural properties, have also been derived. We conducted a simulation study to evaluate the consistency of the maximum likelihood estimates. Moreover, two real data examples on selected data sets, to illustrate the usefulness of the new class of distributions. The proposed model outperforms several non-nested models on selected data sets.

As far as the rapid development of global marketing network is concerned , it is easy to notice that logistics is becoming increasingly important. The growing competition makes these networks more efficient. More and more opportunities to bring products to the customer disorganize sales network management. The analysis of the effectiveness of distribution channels allows a close examination of efficiency of how the company reaches its customers. It also supports decisions regarding the introduction of new, previously unused channels of distribution, or modification of the already in-use ones. The range of work included a manufacturer specializing in meat processing and production of meat products, distributed in southern Poland. Using the point-analytical method, the effectiveness of distribution channels used in the company was evaluated. As a result, it was possible to determine the performance of individual sales channels. There were three distribution channels: by-company, sponsored and networking. The most effective appeared to be the networking channel, which scored a total of 235 points. Given the greatest potential of distribution, this channel, in terms of the size of the batch supplied to markets, without doubt will continue to be one of the leading directions of development in the future of the company. In second place was the by-company channel with 195 points, while the sponsored channel was the least effective. However, as a conclusion from the information gathered from the company itself, each channel will be developed in the future, proportionally to their current rank.

Łańcuch dostaw jest to sieć powiązanych ze sobą dostawców i odbiorców oferujących produkty lub usługi finalnym konsumentom. Celem badań było rozpoznanie elementów łańcucha dostaw wieprzowiny w obszarze zaopatrzenia, przetwórstwa oraz dystrybucji. Podstawowym źródłem informacji były dane statystyki masowej oraz wybrane firmy mięs ne notowane na liście 2000 największych przedsiębiorstw w Polsce. Łańcuch dostaw wieprzowiny w kraju charakteryzuje się dużym rozdrobnieniem produkcji, przetwórstwa i dystrybucji. Duża liczba podmiotów oraz brak powiązań kapitałowych hodowców z przemysłem mięsnym nie sprzyja trwałej integracji. W celu utrzymania rentowności przedsiębiorstwa dywersyfikują swoją działalność. Podmioty o dużej skali produkcji częściej współpracują z sieciami handlowymi, natomiast w małych większą rolę odgrywają własne sieci sklepów. Liderów w branży cechuje szeroki asortyment, duża skala produkcji, specjalizacja oraz większa integracja w łańcuchu dostaw.
The supply chain is a network of suppliers and customers offering their products or services to the end consumers. The research aimed at recognizing the elements of the supply chain of pork in the area of supply, processing and distribution. The information was primarily sourced by the data storage statistics and chosen meat companies listed among the 2000 largest industries in Poland. The domestic supply chain of pork is characterized by a considerable fragmentation of production, processing and distribution. A signifi cant number of entities and the absence of capital tie-ups between the breeders and the meat industry does not foster durable integration. In order to maintain the profi tability of production, the meat establishments diversify their activities. Entities with large production volume more often cooperate with commercial networks, whereas in case of the smaller ones, these are their own distribution networks that prevail. The leaders in the industry are characterized by a wide range of goods, large-scale production, specialization and a closer integration in the supply chai.
