Virtual organizations (VO) are geographically distributed groups of people sharing common goals and willingness to collaborate. One of the important roles of virtual organizations is to facilitate sharing resources related to the area of collaboration. This paper presents an approach to handling resources in Computational Intelligence and Machine Learning distributed over a large number of sites. Resources are first discovered in the internet, evaluated, and then shared among users. Reasoning and adaptation methods can then be applied to best fit resources into users’ needs without a long search process.

The development of knowledge engineering and, within its framework, of data mining or knowledge mining from data should result in the characteristics or descriptions of objects, events, processes and/or rules governing them, which should satisfy certain quality criteria: credibility, accuracy, verifiability, topicality, mutual logical consistency, usefulness, etc. Choosing suitable mathematical models of knowledge mining from data ensures satisfying only some of the above criteria. This paper presents, also in the context of the aims of The Committee on Data for Science and Technology (CODATA), more general aspects of knowledge mining and popularization, which require applying the rules that enable or facilitate controlling the quality of data.

Requirements analysis is a highly critical step in software life-cycle. Our solution to the problem of managing requirements is an embedded domainspecific language with Clojure playing the role of the host language. The requirements are placed directly in the source code, but there is an impedance mismatch between the compilation units and electronic documents, that are the major carriers of requirements information. This paper presents a coverage for this problem.

This paper discusses various aspects that should be considered when defining and executing extraction process-related information from the source data (ERP system) to an event log. This includes trace and event selection, as well as important project decisions that should be made beforehand. The basic idea of a proposed approach is demonstrated by performing a case study which is related to a standard sales order processing, that is, business process from sales quotation through sales order and delivery to invoicing. For this processes we showed the characteristics of the event logs, and the models we can discover.

Opis:
In this paper, we describe how several soft computing tools can be used to assist in high throughput screening of potential drug candidates. Individual small molecules (ligands) are assessed for their potential to bind to specific proteins (receptors). Committees of multilayer networks are used to classify protein-ligand complexes as good binders or bad binders, based on selected chemical descriptors. The novel aspects of this paper include the use of statistical analyses on the weights of single layer networks to select the appropriate descriptors, the use of Monte Carlo cross-validation to provide confidence measures of network performance (and also to identify problems in the data), the addition of new chemical descriptors to improve network accuracy, and the use of Self Organizing Maps to analyze the performance of the trained network and identify anomalies. We demonstrate the procedures on a large practical data set, and use them to discover a promising characteristic of the data. We also perform virtual screenings with the trained networks on a number of benchmark sets and analyze the results.

The main purpose of a topological index is to encode a chemical structure by a number. A topological index is a graph invariant, which decribes the topology of the graph and remains constant under a graph automorphism. Topological indices play a wide role in the study of QSAR (quantitative structure-activity relationship) and QSPR (quantitative structure-property relationship). Topological indices are implemented to judge the bioactivity of chemical compounds. In this article, we compute the ABC (atom-bond connectivity); ABC4 (fourth version of ABC), GA(geometric arithmetic) and GA5(fifth version of GA) indices of some networks sheet. These networks include: octonano window sheet; equilateral triangular tetra sheet; rectangular sheet; and rectangular tetra sheet networks.

Opis:
After World War II, Jan Wyżykowski studied at the Faculty of Mining University in Kraków. In 1946-1948, he held summer practices in mines and at the Polish Geological Institute (PGI), which allowed him to explore the ore deposits in Lower Silesia. On January 1951, he was transferred to the PGI, where all works related to the issues of the ore exploration were gradually taken over by the Ore Department based in Kraków. In the early 1950’s, a research program for copper exploration began to crystallize in the area located north of the Old Copper Basin and north of Wroclaw. Such program was postulated by two heads of the Ore Department, R. Krajewski and A. Graniczny. A seismic profile was acquired along the Boleslawiec-Glogów line to determine the extent of the Zechstein Kupeferschiefer formation in the Fore-Sudetic area. Wyżykowski was a planner ofthe drillings along this profile. Thefirst three boreholes did not indicate the possibility of success. What is more, Wyżykowski’s research was illegal, because he drilled to a depth of 700 metres, which was about 300 metres deeper than allowed. The thesis offutility of exploration in this area started to dominate. Despite all these adversities, Wyżykowski stubbornly strove to achieve the goal. A team led by him came across economic copper ore deposits on 23 March, 1957. In the Sieroszowice IG 1 borehole, at a depth of650 m, copper mineralization of 1.4% was found in marls. The presence of rich copper mineralization was confirmed also in a nearby borehole drilled in Lubin, S-19. The history of the "great Polish copper has started”.

Opis:
Due to the vast and rapid increase in the size of data, data mining has been an increasingly important tool for the purpose of knowledge discovery to prevent the presence of rich data but poor knowledge. In this context, machine learning can be seen as a powerful approach to achieve intelligent data mining. In practice, machine learning is also an intelligent approach for predictive modelling. Rule learning methods, a special type of machine learning methods, can be used to build a rule based system as a special type of expert systems for both knowledge discovery and predictive modelling. A rule based system may be represented through different structures. The techniques for representing rules are known as rule representation, which is significant for knowledge discovery in relation to the interpretability of the model, as well as for predictive modelling with regard to efficiency in predicting unseen instances. This paper justifies the significance of rule representation and presents several existing representation techniques. Two types of novel networked topologies for rule representation are developed against existing techniques. This paper also includes complexity analysis of the networked topologies in order to show their advantages comparing with the existing techniques in terms of model interpretability and computational efficiency.

The paper introduces a Universal Plug and Play based discovery and management toolkit that facilitates collaboration between cloud infrastructure providers and users. The presented tools construct a unified hierarchy of devices and their management-related services, that represents the current deployment of users' (virtual) infrastructures in the provider's (physical) infrastructure as well as the management interfaces of respective devices. The hierarchy can be used to enhance the capabilities ofthe provider's infrastructure management system. To maintain user independence, the set of management operations exposed by a particular device is always defined by the device owner (either the provider or user).
