Opis:
In current society, smart clothing technology has become a critical way to improve the life quality of the elderly. This work conducted a category product evaluation and user demand system through the bibliometrics method, product evaluation analysis, focus group interviews and questionnaires. Based on the system, we designed smart clothing from the aspects of the clothing structure, hardware, software program and intelligent terminal platform to meet the needs of disabled elderly people and their caregivers in multiple scenarios. According to the test results of the smart clothing, the average error of temperature and humidity monitoring is 0.20℃ and 2.88%RH. The time of putting on-taking off clothing in 6 representative daily scenarios was reduced by 51.67%. The daily body checking times, uncomfortable behaviours, and the anxiety of caregivers was decreased by 42.31%, 28.52% and 74.37%. Compared with ordinary clothing, six of the eight comfort performances are basically the same, and two are slightly worse.

W artykule zwrócono uwagę na istotę stymulowania pozytywnego nastawienia starszych osób z niepełnosprawnością poprzez aktywność artystyczną w warunkach sprawowanej opieki instytucjonalnej na przykładzie charakterystyki 90 badanych przypadków (45 aktywnych twórczo oraz 45 nieaktywnych twórczo). Analiza obejmuje psychospołeczne aspekty włączania do aktywności twórczej osób starszych z niepełnosprawnością, jak również właściwości ich funkcjonowania w warunkach instytucjonalnej pomocy (m.in. typy aktywizacji twórczej, grupy możliwości zadań poznawczych, uwarunkowania średniej profilu sposobów radzenia sobie grupy starszych osób z niepełnosprawnością aktywnych twórczo i grupy biernej w różnych sytuacjach życiowych). W rezultacie przeprowadzonych analiz otrzymano charakterystykę wybranego zestawu cech osobowości ułatwiających ujawnianie się ożywienia życiowego oraz pozytywnego nastawienia badanych. Wymiarem osobowości, który zgodnie z oczekiwaniami sformułowanymi w pytaniach okazał się pozostawać w związku z twórczością przejawianą przez osoby badane oraz dającym się odnotować uznaniem otoczenia, jest sumienność.
The paper focuses on the essence of stimulating positive attitudes in the disabled elderly through artistic activity in the environment of institutional care as exemplified by a characterisation of 90 investigated cases (45 creatively active ones and 45 creatively inactive ones). The analysis involves the psychosocial aspects of inclusion of the disabled elderly in creative activity as well as aspects of their functioning in the environment of institutional assistance (including types of creative activation, groups of possibilities of cognitive tasks, determinants of the average of the profile of manners in which a creatively active group of the disabled elderly and a passive group deals with different situations in their lives). The carried out analyses resulted in a characterization of a selected set of personality traits which facilitate revealing a revival of vital and positive attitudes in the investigated individuals. The personality dimension which, according to the expectations formulated in the working hypotheses, appeared to remain in connection with the creativity revealed by the elderly disabled and a noticeable recognition of the environment.

The role of physical activity in the healthy lifestyle is a recurring element of surveys at every stage of the human life. The fact that people live longer indicates a necessity for studying the issue of physical activity of the elderly and disabled people. This review of researches reveals issues concerning physical activity of the elderly in Poland, and in other countries. Moreover, the study relates to the problem of physical activity among the elderly with disabilities. Researches show that this subject matter is present in the domestic studies relatively rarely. Results of surveys from other countries also concern issues of the elderly at around 80 years of age. The authors indicate the significant role of physical activity among the elderly, and the accompanying barriers.

In accordance with the vision of the National Urban Policy, in 2023 Polish cities are to be efficient and coherent as well as competitive, and in the aspect of transport and urban mobility - compact and balanced. One of the basic objectives of the National Urban Policy is to achieve sustainable mobility in the functional area of the city. Activities related to the adaptation of cities to the needs of people with special needs are treated as a priority due to the constantly increasing number of people with this type of requirements. Czestochowa trying to meet the requirements of all its inhabitants, introduces numerous local programs to identify the needs of residents. The purpose of the article is to present the social policy of Czestochowa City in relation to people with special transport needs and to assess the degree of adaptation of the urban transport fleet to the needs of these social groups. The data analysis was possible thanks to the use of the Desk Research method. The work is of a review nature and will allow to illustrate deficiencies in the mentioned scope.

System transportowy to jeden z kluczowych czynników determinujących rozwój gospodarczy, ekonomiczny, społeczny współczesnych miast, przed którymi stawia się cel: zapewnienia dogodnego powiązania pomiędzy obszarami różnej struktury funkcjonalnej tj. zapewnienie wysokiego komfortu oraz krótkiego czasu podróży, przy zminimalizowanym oddziaływaniu na środowisko naturalne. Warto jednak zadać sobie pytanie, czy takie wykreowanie systemu transportowego jest możliwe, czy nie powoduje wykluczenia niektórych grup społecznych, czy jest w stanie zaspokoić potrzeby wszystkich użytkowników? Przed tym dylematem staje coraz więcej współczesnych planistów i inżynierów transportu. Według wielu publikacji naukowych odpowiedzią jest projektowanie uniwersalne, a więc kształtowanie przestrzeni publicznych i systemu transportowego ze świadomością zróżnicowania zbiorowości ludzkiej pod względem płci, wieku, sprawności fizycznej czy stanu zdrowia. Najbardziej narażone na wykluczenie społeczne są osoby starsze powyżej 60 roku życia oraz niepełnosprawni posiadający różnego rodzaju dysfunkcje psychiczne, fizyczne i sensoryczne. Zbiorowość ta napotyka w życiu codziennym wiele barier architektonicznych, transportowych, które uniemożliwiają im swobodne przemieszczanie się, a tym samym ograniczają ich dostęp do edukacji, zatrudnienia czy kultury. W artykule zdefiniowano pojęcie osób starszych i niepełnosprawnych, przedstawiono najczęściej napotykane bariery w zakresie systemu transportowego w miastach. Istotnym elementem artykułu są wyniki badań ankietowych przeprowadzonych w Oświęcimiu i Krakowie dotyczących oceny funkcjonowania transportu publicznego i jego dostosowania do osób starszych i niepełnosprawnych. Uzyskane wyniki i wnioski z badań stanowić mogą inspiracje dla innych miast, które chcą stworzyć system transportowy dostosowany do potrzeb analizowanej grupy.
The public transport system is one of the key factors determining the economic and social development of modern cities, faced with the goal of providing convenient connections between different areas of the functional structure, i.e. ensuring high comfort and short travel time, while minimizing environmental impact. However, it is worth asking: is creating such a transport system possible, does it exclude certain social groups, and is it capable of satisfying the needs of all users? More and more modern planners and transportation engineers are facing this dilemma. According to many scientific publications, universal design is the answer, hence shaping public spaces and the transport systems with awareness of the diversity of the human collectivity in terms of sex, age, physical ability and health condition. Elderly people above 60 years of age and the disabled, who have various types of mental, physical and sensory dysfunctions, are at the greatest risk of social exclusion. These groups of people encounter many architectural and transportation barriers in their daily lives that make it impossible for them to move freely, thus limiting their access to education, employment and culture. This article defines the concepts of elderly and disabled people and presents the barriers most frequently encountered in city transport systems. The results of the survey studies conducted in Oświęcim and Kraków concerning assessment of public transport and its adaptation to elderly and disabled people are a significant part of this article. Results and conclusions obtained from studies can be an inspiration for other cities that want to create a transport system adapted to the needs of the analyzed group.

Artykuł dotyczy oceny funkcjonowania systemu miejskiego transportu publicznego w Krakowie przez osoby starsze. Osoby starsze odgrywają coraz większą rolę w społeczeństwie. W związku z tym pojawia się potrzeba wprowadzenia zmian i udogodnień w różnych sferach życia w celu zaspokojenia ich podstawowych potrzeb, związanych z ich funkcjonowaniem w miastach i aglomeracjach. Osoby starsze częściej podróżują transportem publicznym, ponieważ ich stan zdrowia zmniejsza predyspozycje do kierowania pojazdami. Transport publiczny często jest jedynym ze środków transportu, z którego mogą oni korzystać. Aby transport publiczny działał dobrze musi spełniać pewne wymogi zarówno w zakresie wyposażenia samych środków transportu, jak i zakresie infrastruktury. Zadaniem zarządców i organizatorów transportu jest zatem pomóc tej grupie osób w realizacji ich podstawowych potrzeb z zakresu podróży transportem publicznym. W celu poznania oczekiwań osób starszych w odniesieniu do funkcjonowania transportu publicznego, poznania ich stopnia zadowolenia i satysfakcji z obecnych usług transportu publicznego, przeprowadzono w Krakowie badania ankietowe. Badania ankietowe przeprowadzono wśród osób starszych na wybranych przystankach autobusowych i tramwajowych w Krakowie. W artykule przedstawiono szczegółową analizę uzyskanych wyników badań ankietowych. Na podstawie przeprowadzonych badań zaproponowano zmiany i rozwiązania, jakie powinno się wprowadzić, aby transport publiczny był bardziej przyjazny dla osób starszych. Wyniki badań wskazują pewien kierunek działania, jaki należy podjąć, aby zachęcić osoby starsze do podróży transportem publicznym. Ponadto w artykule poruszono kwestie starości i starzenia się społeczeństwa w Polsce, Małopolsce i Krakowie.
The article presents evaluation of urban public transport system in Cracow by elderly people. Elderly people play an important role in the society. In order to satisfy their basic needs related to life in cities and agglomerations it is needed to implement changes and improvements in various life aspects. Elderly people often travel by public transport because their health decreases their predispositions to travel by car. Public transport is often the only one transport mean which they can use. Some conditions, both in terms of transport means equipment and infrastructure, have to be improved in order to have more accessible public transport. Task of public transport management is to help elderly people to meet their basic needs in terms of public transport journeys. The survey among elderly people was carried out in Cracow in order to get an information on elderly people’s needs and expectations related to public transport, as well as the level of their satisfaction with the public transport services. The survey was carried out at selected bus and tram stops. The article shows detailed analysis of the survey results. Basing on the survey results changes and solutions for improvement of the urban public transport to make it more senior-friendly have been proposed. Moreover the article raises the issues of society aging in Poland, Małopolska Region and Cracow.

In relation to the progressing ageing process of the population in Poland grows a demand for health services and welfare. It causes growing costs of the health care and benefits processed by the system of the welfare. In the perspective of deepening this process one should start searching of system new solutions in order to meet the growing appearing needs amongst these categories of persons. In the article law and most often consumed social security benefits applying to solutions are described by elderly and disabled people, as well as some their costs.
W związku z postępującym procesem starzenia się populacji w Polsce rośnie zapotrzebowanie na usługi zdrowotne i opiekuńcze. Powoduje to rosnące koszty opieki zdrowotnej i świadczeń realizowanych przez system pomocy społecznej. W perspektywie pogłębiania tego procesu należy rozpocząć poszukiwania nowych rozwiązań systemowych w celu zaspokojenia rosnących potrzeb występujących wśród tych kategorii osób. W artykule przedstawione są obowiązujące rozwiązania prawne oraz najczęściej konsumowane świadczenia socjalne przez osoby starsze i niepełnosprawne, a także niektóre ich koszty.

The aim of the paper is to analyze and assess the situation of some vulnerable groups: disabled, older and youth in the Polish labour market. The presentation of reality exposes the weaknesses and shortcomings of labor market institutions, the process of education and social security in Poland. Although the current labour law prohibits all discrimination, presented groups are clearly discriminated. The young people, who are creating our economic development, are in the particularly difficult situation. The end of the article presents the trends that should be the subject of further research and serious discussion.

Według narodowego spisu powszechnego przeprowadzonego w 2002 roku, liczba osób niepełnosprawnych w Polsce to 5.456,7 tys., czyli 14,3 procent ludności kraju. Oznacza to, że co siódmy mieszkaniec jest osobą niepełnosprawną lub za taką się uważa. Polskie społeczeństwo dodatkowo, podobnie jak inne społeczeństwa w Europie, podlega nieodwracalnemu zjawisku, jakim jest starzenie się populacji. Wiąże się to ze znacznym wzrostem osób o ograniczonych możliwościach ruchowych. Badania nad ergonomią oraz rozwój techniki i materiałów w ostatnich latach posunęły się tak dalece, że w zasadzie zrewolucjonizowały wiele dziedzin życia. Czy podobnie jest w zakresie dostosowywania obiektów mieszkalnych do potrzeb osób niepełnosprawnych ruchowo, czy może nadal takie osoby spotykają się z przeszkodami w pomieszczeniach, w których codziennie przebywają? W artykule autorka przedstawia rozwiązania pomagające dostosować budynki mieszkalne do potrzeb osób z dysfunkcją ruchu, w szczególności osób poruszających się na wózkach inwalidzkich i osób starszych.
According to the national census conducted in 2002, the number of people with disabilities in Poland is 5456.7 thous., PONAD 14 percent of the population of the country. This means that every seventh citizen is a person with a disability or for such a thought. Polish society, in addition, like other societies in Europe, subject to irreversible phenomenon of an aging population. This is related to a significant increase in people with reduced mobility. Research on ergonomics and the development of techniques and materials in recent years has gone so far that basically revolutionized many areas of life. Is it the same in adapt to the needs of residential buildings to people with reduced mobility? Does such persons may still face impediments in areas where every day they live? In the article the author presents solutions that help adapt to the needs of residential buildings by persons with reduced traffic, especially for wheelchair access and the elderly.

This article aims at investigating the extent to which the available opportunities are being exploited, including current and potential possibilities of novel technologies application for purposes of tourism of people with special needs. The research methods used were: logical-compartmental analysis and observation. Main results of analysis: Development of the knowledge-based economy, studies in it, and implementation of their results in practice, bring many untapped opportunities, including wider application of e-tourism in meeting requirements and needs of disabled people, elderly people or other groups, which have rarely been taken into consideration as separate groups within economic analyses. Practical implications: There is a need for working out novel business models, including the area of e-tourism for people with special needs, which will take into consideration national requirements and domestic possibilities.
Artykuł podejmuje próbę oceny, na ile wykorzystywane są obecnie możliwości oferowane przez nowoczesne technologie w zakresie turystyki i rekreacji osób ze specjalnymi potrzebami. Metody badawcze: metody analizy logiczno-porównawczej, metoda obserwacji. Główne wyniki analiz: Rozwój gospodarki opartej na wiedzy, badania w tym obszarze oraz implementacja ich wyników w praktyce niosą ze sobą dużo niewykorzystanych jeszcze możliwości, w tym w obszarze szerszego wykorzystania e-turystyki w zaspokajaniu specjalnych potrzeb osób niepełnosprawnych, osób w podeszłym wieku czy innych grup, dotychczas rzadko uwzględnianych jako odrębne grupy w analizie ekonomicznej. Implikacje praktyczne: Potrzebne są nowe modele biznesowe, w tym w obszarze e-turystyki dla osób ze specjalnymi potrzebami, uwzględniające potrzeby i możliwości w tym zakresie.

W artykule opisano główne zasady dialogu motywującego (DM) oraz przedstawiono jego zalety w procesie reintegracji zawodowej poprzez wykorzystanie go w programie wsparcia adaptacyjnego. Umiejętność wdrażania DM w procesie reintegracji zawodowej może ułatwić osobom z niepełnosprawnościami poznanie własnego potencjału, zmianę nastawienia do swojej niepełnosprawności oraz zwiększenie motywacji do podjęcia pracy.
In the paper the primary principles of motivational interviewing (MI) and its advantages in the process of vocational reintegration are presented. The skill of the MI’s implementation to the process of occupational reintegration may be a significant aid to the disabled people in the content of their learning about their full potential, making changes in their stance towards their handicap and increasing their motivation towards taking up an occupation.

Opis:
Wstęp i cel: Celem realizowanego projektu jest opracowanie systemu wspomagającego funkcjonowanie osób starszych i niepełnosprawnych cierpiących z powodu dysfunkcji ruchowych. W artykule opisano pierwszy etap projektu, w którym system zapewnia możliwość wspomagania dwóch czynności: zaświecanie i gaszenie światła oraz zasłanianie i odsłanianie rolet okiennych. Do każdej z tych czynności zastosowano sterowanie gestem. Materiał i metody: W pracy wykorzystano platformę programistyczną Arduino LEONARDO, sensor ruchu Microsoft Kinect, komputer klasy PC oraz elementy wykonawcze systemu takie jak przekaźnik, serwomechanizm czy buzzer. W artykule omówiono sposób działania systemu oraz oprogramowanie na płytkę Arduino odpowiedzialną za sterowanie elementami wykonawczymi i odczyt informacji z czujników. Dodatkowo przedstawione zostały najważniejsze elementy oprogramowania umożliwiające komunikacje pomiędzy sensorem Kinect a płytką Arduino. Wyniki: Wynikiem pracy jest w pełni funkcjonalny prototyp/makieta systemu. Wniosek: Opisany system jest nowatorski z pozytywnymi opiniami przyszłych użytkowników.
Introduction and aim: The article presents the issues of supporting system for elderly and disabled people. The article describes the first phase of the project, in which the system provides the ability to support two steps. For each of these activities is used to control gesture. Material and methods: The project has been designed and implemented based on software platform Arduino Leonardo, motion sensor Microsoft Kinect, PC computer system and actuators such as relays, servo or buzzer. In addition, have been presented the main elements of hardware / software system enables communication between the sensor Kinect and Arduino plate. Results: The result of work is fully functional prototype assist device. Conclusion: The method described is innovative with positive test and opinion of future users.

Innowacje społeczne rozumiane jako projektowanie i wdrażanie nowych, kreatywnych sposobów zaspokajania potrzeb społecznych nabierają coraz większego znaczenia, wiążą się bowiem zarówno z dążeniem do racjonalizacji wydatków socjalnych państwa, jak i z chęcią ciągłego podnoszenia jakości życia jego mieszkańców. Wyróżnikiem innowacji społecznych jest szeroki za-kres, który tak samo jak proces gospodarowania obejmuje wszystkie sfery aktywności przedsiębiorstw i społeczeństwa: sferę produkcji, wymiany i konsumpcji. Głównym celem artykułu jest przedstawienie znaczenia koncepcji innowacji społecznych w rozważaniach dotyczących nowych sposobów rozwiązywania problemów społecznych, w szczególności dotykających osoby starsze i niepełnosprawne. Innowacje nakierowane na zapobieganie procesom prowadzącym do wyklu-czenie społecznego osób starszych i niepełnosprawnych, czy też podnoszące jakość ich życia mogą okazać się nie tylko skuteczne, ale również efektywne m.in. dzięki ograniczeniu wydatków poprzez właściwe kierowanie innowacji społecznych i ich indywidualizację oraz wykorzystaniu efektów synergii. W artykule za istotne uznano związek innowacji społecznych z szeroko rozumianymi problemami społecznymi. W pierwszej części artykułu zaprezentowano definicje inno-wacji społecznych oraz proces ich tworzenia i wdrażania. W kolejnej części artykułu omówiono przemiany demograficzne i ich terytorialne zróżnicowanie oraz przedstawiono problem niepełnosprawności w Polsce. W ostatniej części artykułu określono rolę innowacji społecznych w procesie rozwiązywania problemów społecznych.
Social innovations understood as planning and implementing new, creative ways of meeting social needs are more and more important because they are related to rationalization of social expenses, and willingness to constant raising quality of life of their inhabitants. Characteristic feature of social innovations is a wide scope, which includes all spheres of activity of the enter-prises and society: sphere of production, exchange and consumption. The main goal of the article is to present the meaning of the concept of social innovations in deliberations concerning new ways of solving social problems, particularly affecting the elderly and disabled people. Innovations aiming at prevention of processes leading to social exclusion of the elderly and disabled people, or raising quality of their life can be effective thanks to, among others, reduction of expenses through proper management of social innovations and their individualization and use of synergy effects. Relations between social innovations and social problems are regarded as important in the article. Definitions concerning social innovations and process of creating and implementing them are pre-sented in the first part of the article. Demographic changes, their territorial diversity and problem of disability in Poland are presented in the next part of the article. The role of social innovations in a process of solving social problems is discussed in the last part of the article.

The use of a computer may give disabled people independence, a feeling of increased productivity and an increased sense of self-respect. Thus there is a constant need to train disabled people in the use of computers and associated assistive technology. This task contitutes an enormous challenge because of both the increasing number of disabled people and the ageing population. This article aims at investigating the extent to which the available opportunities in this area are being exploited.
Wykorzystanie komputera może dać osobie niepełnosprawnej niezależność, poczucie zwiększonej produktywności oraz wzrost szacunku do samego siebie. Istnieje zatem stała potrzeba wdrażania osób niepełnosprawnych w użycie komputerów oraz rozwiązań dostosowujących komputery do potrzeb osób niepełnosprawnych. Stanowi to ogromne wyzwanie w związku z rosnącą liczbą osób niepełnosprawnych oraz starzeniem się społeczeństwa. Artykuł stanowi próbę oceny stopnia wykorzystania możliwości w omawianym zakresie.

Opis:
The article concerns the creation, in accordance with the EU idea of integrated accessibility, more and more favorable legal and design conditions for shaping the space of the residential development environment with equalized physical and social accessibility among elderly, disabled and non-disabled people. The research results presented in the article indicate the existing limitations and new possibilities in improving the general principles of creating urban assumptions for universal design. For this purpose, sixteen elements and their functional and spatial features were identified, which, in all people with various disabilities, as research has shown, directly increase the surrogate and corrective effectiveness of perception and communing with the residential development environment. From among those identified, those elements were distinguished which, in the residential development space, most equalize its accessibility for people in the characterized categories of visual, auditory, motor and intellectual disabilities. These are the elements of the spatial layouts of residential development, which also that have the strongest impact on increasing the safety, independence and freedom of movement of each inhabitant in their housing estate.
