The primary objective of this paper is to pay attention to the need for inclusion of economic human and social capital management of public joint stock companies. Purpose of the article concerns multi- and interdisciplinary problems such as: economic, social and technical issues. In the spectrum of interest there are also elements within psychology, axiology and culture. For the its realization, there was formulated a research hypothesis, stating that the real need of inclusion approach in management of stock limited companies capital produces the need for appropriate and responsible development of not only economic capital but also properly balanced human capital and social capital. It can be said, with great certainty, that this thesis is as attractive and important for every company and every organization. Selection to the considerations listed companies is justified by the specificity of their action, significantly high value of financial capital and social capital of trust. They have an influence on economic growth and social development. Moreover, like no other companies they are exposed to very high business risk. The article consists of two parts. The first part presents the issues concepts and types of capital of companies. The second part is to place the analysis of the nature, sources and functions social capital of company.

Innovations significantly affect a country's economic development, at the same time contributing to raising its position. A very important role in improving the innovativeness of enterprises, regions or the national economy is played by the state, creating a strategy, programmes or regulations supporting development and pro-innovation policy. This article attempts to systematise knowledge in the field of innovation and to determine directions for increasing the innovativeness of the economy in Poland. This study analyses strategies supporting innovation in Poland in the years 2014-2020.
Innowacje istotnie wpływają na rozwój gospodarczy kraju, przyczyniając się zarazem do podnoszenia jego pozycji. Bardzo ważną rolę w podnoszeniu innowacyjności przedsiębiorstw, regionów lub gospodarki narodowej odgrywa państwo, tworząc strategię, programy czy rozporządzenia wspierające politykę rozwoju i proinnowacyjną. W artykule podjęto próbę usystematyzowania wiedzy z zakresu innowacyjności oraz określenia kierunków zwiększenia innowacyjności w Polsce. W opracowaniu analizowano strategie wspierające innowacje w Polsce w latach 2014-2020.

Enterprises functioning in the market economy consider survival and development to constitute the most general goal of their activity. Survival is the essential goal, first of all implemented in practice in the situation of a recession or an economic stagnation, on which the completion of the majority of other postulates depends. However, every organization which implements the survival goal, in consequence must be development-oriented. The necessity of the enterprise transformation, that is its adaptation to changing conditions of the environment means constant proceeding to a higher stage of development which is conditioned by external and internal changes. Maintaining balance between external and internal conditionings is related to the individual needs of an enterprise, its position on the market, long-term prospects for development and the assessment of the current situation and the effectiveness of management. The postulates presented above, referring to the determination of strategic directions of the enterprise activity, must be confronted in today’s economic reality with the idea and the main assumptions of the Value Based Management concept, which has now become one of the leading concepts of enterprise management, acceptable by the majority of its shareholders. The paper attempts to identify relations between the process of development and the process of enterprise value creation, developing primarily the subject of common goals, determinants and the strategy of both processes.

The paper deals with the development of Polish-owned companies on the Belarusian market, identifying their key development strategies. A relatively large number of Polish businesses are active on the Belarusian market, the author says. At the beginning of 2010, a total of 532 Polish-owned companies were registered in Belarus, according to data by Poland’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In addition to studying research reports on the topic, the author collected data through telephone interviews as well as a questionnaire, which was the main research method. According to the author, every company, by its very nature, seeks to grow; this trend can also be observed Polish-owned companies doing business in Belarus. The research indicates that product development and, in some cases, market penetration were the most effective development strategies among the surveyed companies, Naumavets says. Doing business abroad requires a company to focus especially strongly on its competitive advantages, because a foreign company is a usually at a disadvantage with regard to the local competition, according to the author. This explains why foreign companies should focus on competitive strategies as proposed by American economist Michael Porter, Naumavets notes. The most common strategy among the surveyed companies was one based on standing out in the marketplace. This strategy makes it possible to achieve and maintain a sustainable competitive advantage, according to the author. Polish-owned companies active in Belarus usually try to stand out in their relations with customers and suppliers as well as in terms of business reputation, quality and price.

W artykule zaprezento-wano koncepcję modelu racjonalizacji procesu strategicznego przedsiębiorstw wysokich technologii w ujęciu konfiguracyjnym. Poddano również analizie częściowe wyniki prac badawczych podjętych w Projekcie4 z zakresu definiowania i rozwią-zywania problemów strategicznych w przedsiębiorstwach innowacyjnych.

Celem niniejszego opracowania jest przedstawienie i ocena zreformowanego modelu programowania polityki rozwoju w Polsce. W efekcie prowadzonych w latach 2006-2011 działań reformatorskich określono główne obszary programowania polityki rozwoju, typy podstawowych dokumentów strategicznych i ich wzajemne zależności, podmioty odpowiedzialne za opracowanie poszczególnych dokumentów i ich realizację, podstawowe zasady tworzenia, monitorowania i oceny realizacji dokumentów strategicznych oraz nowe zasady finansowania polityki rozwoju. Zweryfikowano i uporządkowano istniejące programowe dokumenty strategiczne oraz opracowano pakiet nowej generacji podstawowych dokumentów strategicznych, zgodnie z zaprojektowanym modelem. Efektem powyższych działań powinno być usprawnienie programowania i realizacji krajowej polityki rozwoju. Stworzenie własnego modelu programowania polityki rozwoju jest potrzebne także w perspektywie malejącego dopływu środków unijnych, których wykorzystaniu w dużym stopniu podporządkowana była dotychczasowa polityka. Głównym zagrożeniem dla powodzenia realizacji reformy mogą okazać się jednak malejące krajowe możliwości finansowania polityki rozwoju.
The purpose of the research paper is to present and assess the revised model of development policy programming in Poland. As a result of reform undertakings pursued within 2006-2011 major areas of development policy programming have been established and types of basic strategic documents and their interdependencies have been agreed upon. Moreover, rudiments of drafting strategic documents as well as monitoring and assessing their pursuit have been set together with new rules of financing the development policy. The existing strategic documents have been verified and categorised and a package of new generation of basic strategic documents has been worked out in line with the designed model. The above activities should result in enhancing both programming and pursuit of the country’s development policy. Creating of the model of development policy programming is also necessary from the perspective of shrinking amount of the Union’s financial means that so far have had a significant impact on the pursuit of the development policy. However, the major threat to the accomplishment of the reform might be declining possibilities of the country’s sources of development policy financing.

Rozwój przedsiębiorstwa, a jednocześnie całej branży związany jest z opracowaniem, a następnie osiąganiem założeń strategicznych poprzez określone zmiany (jakościowe i ilościowe), które powinny przyczyniać się do budowania przewagi konkurencyjnej tych organizacji w dłuższej perspektywie czasu. Istotne znaczenie ma w tym ujęciu skuteczność strategii rozwojowych podmiotów z branży TSL. Należy zaznaczyć szczególne znaczenie szeroko rozumianych przewozów towarowych i wpływ ich funkcjonowania na działalność pozostałych sektorów gospodarki. Celem badawczym jest opracowanie prognozy zmian liczby przedsiębiorstw branży TSL i określenie założeń strategii rozwojowej tych podmiotów w latach 2020–2024. Na podstawie przeprowadzonych badań wykazano, że w latach 2020–2024 powinien wystąpić wzrost liczby podmiotów od 158 742 do 168 032 (o 5,85%). Dodatkowo na podstawie analizy SWOT można wskazać, że podmioty z branży TSL powinny obrać w najbliższych latach kierunek strategiczny „maxi-maxi”, który zakłada ukierunkowanie na dynamiczny rozwój.
The development of the enterprise and, at the same time, the entire industry is associated with the development and then achievement of strategic assumptions through specific changes (qualitative and quantitative) that should contribute to building the competitiveness and competitive advantage of these organizations in the long run. The effectiveness of development strategies of entities from the TSL sector is important in this approach. The aim of the article is to forecast changes in the number of enterprises in the TSL sector and to define the development strategy of these entities in 2020-2024. The conducted research shows that in the years 2020-2024 there should be an increase in the number of entities from 158742 to 168032 (increase by 5.85%). Additionally, the SWOT analysis indicates that entities from the TSL industry should choose the “maxi-maxi” strategy in the coming years, which assumes focusing on dynamic development.

This article attempts to establish potential applications for widening the use of transmissionx-ray full body scanners in the United Kingdom (UK) as the product of innovation. It is the first researchproject of its kind and findings will be able to assist government agencies in enhancing currentsecurity systems within the transport and prison sectors of the UK. In addition, product manufacturerswill be able to adjust their marketing and product development strategies. The main findings of thisstudy demonstrated that introducing the product within the UK air transport and prison sectors couldenhance individual privacy. The product would also be able to combat the issue of contraband traffickingwithin the air transport and prison sectors of the UK to enhance security. It was, however, highlightedthat the product would not significantly improve staff and inmate safety within the prison sector.The issue of data security was also discussed and frequent travelers did not view the data producedby the product as being damaging to individual privacy, whilst a prison security manager viewed datasecurity as one of the most significant issues associated with widening the use of the equipment. Theresults also demonstrated that transmission x-ray full body scanners are not suitable to be used withinthe UK rail network as the equipment would cause major inconveniences for train passengers. Thenext section of this article will focus on discussing introduction of the innovation product in the sphereof the debate of privacy vs. security.

Celem opracowania jest ocena wpływu członkostwa w UE na rozwój Polski poprzez pełne wykorzystanie potencjału Internetu. Integracja europejska na obecnym etapie jej zaawansowania obliguje kraje członkowskie do koordynacji wewnętrznej polityki gospodarczej, co oznacza konieczność uwzględnienia w polityce prowadzonej na szczeblu krajowym celów zapisanych w ogólnoeuropejskich strategiach wzrostu społeczno-gospodarczego (np. Europa 2020). Artykuł ma charakter badawczy i poza wyjaśnieniem istoty gospodarki internetowej obejmuje krytyczną analizę najważniejszych strategii rozwoju Polski mających przedstawiać wizję (kierunki) rozwoju i priorytety polityki państwa w długo- i średniookresowej perspektywie, analizę porównawczą obecnie realizowanej koncepcji wykorzystania potencjału Internetu z koncepcją gospodarki internetowej, ocenę skuteczności osiągania przez Polskę wyznaczonych celów, a także ocenę działań samej UE podejmowanych w tym zakresie. UE ułatwia od strony regulacyjnej i finansowej rozwój w Polsce infrastruktury internetowej i zwiększenie jej wykorzystania, ale równocześnie utrudnia tworzenie własnych wizji i planów rozwoju.
The aim of this paper is an appraisal of EU membership influence on the development of Poland through full unleashing of Internet capacity. European integration at this stage requires Member States to coordinate their internal economic policy and means that national policy needs to take into account the targets of EU strategies (e.g. Europe 2020). This paper is a study which, in addition to the Internet economy nature explanation, contains a critical analysis of Polish main long-term and mid-term development strategies, comparative analysis of current approach to Internet potential using and the heart of Internet economy, evaluation of the progress made by Poland against the targets that have been set in Digital Agenda for Europe and finally, assessment of the EU policy in this area. The EU facilitates investment in the Internet infrastructure and regulation framework revision in Poland, but, at the same time, it hinders creation of own vision and plans of development.

Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie ewolucji strategii rozwoju i konkurencyjności w sektorze bankowym UE zachodzącej pod wpływem implementacji przepisów zrównoważonego rozwoju oraz obowiązków raportowania. Wyniki analiz wskazują, że regulacje prawne mają obecnie i będą mieć w przyszłości istotny wpływ na zmiany strategii rozwoju i konkurencyjności sektorów bankowych w UE. Ze względu na wielowymiarowość czynników ESG banki gruntownie i w wielu obszarach dokonują zmian procesowych, strategii i modeli biznesowych. Włączają czynniki ESG do istniejących systemów zarządzania ryzykiem i struktur organizacyjnych, strategii oraz budowy przewag konkurencyjnych. Spodziewane jest ograniczanie finansowania działalności wysokoemisyjnych, a zwiększanie projektów zielonych. Znaczący wpływ na strategie tworzenia wartości i przewag konkurencyjnych mają przepisy dyrektywy CSRD i ESRS. Globalnymi liderami bankowości zrównoważonej są konglomeraty bankowe, np. z Francji, Niemiec i Holandii, transformujące wzorce na pozostałe sektory bankowe w UE i poza nią. Strukturę artykułu tworzą rozdziały dotyczące: uwarunkowań regulacyjnych rozwoju bankowości zrównoważonej w UE, ewolucji strategii działania, wpływu dyrektywy CSRD i wytycznych ESRS na strategie tworzenia wartości i przewag konkurencyjnych oraz kamieni milowych EBA (roadmap) na rynku unijnym. 
The aim of the study is to present the evolution of the development and competitiveness strategy in the EU banking sector under the implementation of sustainable development regulations and reporting obligations. The results of the analyses indicate that legal regulations have now and will have a significant impact on changes in the development and competitiveness strategy of the banking sectors in the EU. Due to the multidimensionality of ESG factors, banks are making changes in their processes, strategies, and business models thoroughly and in many areas. They incorporate ESG factors into existing risk management systems and organizational structures, strategies, and building competitive advantages. It is expected that there will be a reduction in the financial capacity of carbon-intensive activities and an increase in green projects. The CSRD and ESRS have a significant impact on the strategies for creating value and competitive advantage. Global leaders in sustainable banking are banking conglomerates from France, Germany, and the Netherlands, for example, transforming patterns into other banking sectors in the EU and beyond. The structure of the article consists of chapters concerning regulatory conditions for the development of sustainable banking in the EU, evolution of the operating strategy, the impact of the CSRD Directive and the ESRS guidelines on strategies for creating value and competitive advantages, as well as EBA milestones (roadmap) on the EU market.

Zielona gospodarka to nowa jakość w zarządzaniu gospodarką, jaka zadeklarowana została oficjalnie podczas Szczytu Ziemi Organizacji Narodów Zjednoczonych w 2012 r. Stała się ona odpowiedzią na dylematy towarzyszące koncepcji zrównoważonego rozwoju przez ostatnich 30 lat. Pojawiały się one zarówno w obszarze nauk ekonomicznych, w tym finansów, jak i w obszarze nauk prawnych. Wraz z pojawieniem się zielonej gospodarki dylematy te zyskały nowy wymiar, ale także, wraz ze wzrostem międzynarodowej świadomości ekologicznej i znaczenia sprawiedliwości społecz-nej, potrzeba ich rozwiązania stała się bardziej nagląca. Dla wszystkich wymienionych nauk zielona gospodarka oznacza nowe wyzwania w zakresie określenia zakresu, rodzajów oraz obszaru prowa-dzonych badań, jak również potrzebę odpowiedzi na konieczność instytucjonalizacji zarówno kon-cepcji zrównoważonego rozwoju, jak i zielonej gospodarki. Czy zielona gospodarka rozwiąże istnie-jące dylematy? Potrzeba szerokiej, interdyscyplinarnej dyskusji wydaje się nieodzowna. Wytyczną dla jej prowadzenia może okazać się w szczególności Deklaracja Narodów Zjednoczonych przyjęta podczas Szczytu Ziemi w Rio de Janeiro w 2012 r., jak i europejskie strategie rozwojowe.
Green economy is a new quality in the management of the economy, which was officially de-clared at the Earth Summit of the United Nations in 2012 and has become an answer to the dilem-mas in the economy and legal sciences associated with the concept of sustainable development for the past 30 years. In the context of the green economy these dilemmas have gained a new dimen-sion. Because of the increasing international awareness of the importance of environmental and social justice, the need to resolve these dilemmas has become more urgent. The green economy means new challenges in defining the scope, type and area of research, as well as the need to an-swer to the necessity for institutionalization of both the concept of sustainable development and the green economy. Will the green economy solve these problems? The need for a broad, interdis-ciplinary discussion seems to be indispensable. Guideline for her conduct may be the United Na-tions Declaration adopted at the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro in 2012 in particular, as well as European development strategies.

Przedmiotem rozważań w niniejszym artykule jest analiza strategii rozwoju lokalnego pozametropolitalnych ośrodków akademickich w Polsce pod kątem występowania w nich funkcji akademickiej. Analizę przeprowadzono w oparciu o strategie rozwoju lokalnego kilkudziesięciu miast, w tym pozametropolitalnych miast wojewódzkich, jak również strategie miast, które przed 1999 r. miały status miast wojewódzkich oraz innych miast powiatowych, w których zlokalizowane były szkoły publiczne: uniwersytety, politechniki lub państwowe wyższe szkoły zawodowe. Celem analizy była próba odpowiedzi na pytanie, czy twórcy dokumentów strategicznych ośrodków akademickich dostrzegają możliwość wykorzystania potencjału wynikającego z funkcji akademickich do kreowania rozwoju lokalnego.
The paper present the role of an academic functions in the local development strategies of nonmetropolitan academic cities in Poland. For this purpose, there were analyzed local development strategies of non-metropolitan cities which are the capitals of voivodeships, as well as strategies for cities that prior to 1999 had the status of capitals of voivodeships and other cities, where public schools: universities, technical universities or universities of applied science were located. The aim of the analysis was to answer the question whether there is recognize the possibility of taking the advantage of the potential of academic functions for creating development by the local development policy makers.
