Opis:
The paper outlines the dialect in the village Rachanie, pow. Tomaszów Lubelski, against the background of the Polish-Russian border. The vocabulary presented here belongs to the oldest part of the dialect. Various semantic circles of this vocabulary have been listed here: tilling of the land, breeding, culinary art, appelative names of people derived from their traits, vocabulary from religion, and children’s vocabulary. The paper has also discussed the foreign influences, especially Russian, also from the Yiddish, English, French, German, Turkish-Tartar, and Hungarian. Attention has been focused on the problem of words’ disappearance, the culture of the language in a dialect milieu. In relation with rapid social changes that cause the dialect in its traditional form die, the paper may be, in a sense, a document of the ancient state of the dialect. At the moment, it undergoes violent changes in relation with civilisation and social changes in the village. There appears a new heterogeneous shape of the language of the village whose users are, above all, young people and of middle-aged generation. They remain under the influence of the Polish-wide language of the media, including people coming from outside.

For the modern students the analysis and the interpretation of the painting to the lessons of the Polish language are a complex operation. This process becomes more difficult in execution when it concerns the text of the culture former: requires a substantial range of expertise, fetched multiple contexts and a variety of practical skills, which will show the specificity of the visual text. The article mentions the difficulties that may occur when it receives the painting of the Hans Memling Last Judgement at the level of analysis of the sense deep religious language. The text shows the changes in the Polish education and culture, which have a large impact on the attitudes of the youth.

The principles of word formation have been employed for a considerable period of time. In the contemporary German word formation numerous doubts are expressed concerning the correctness of newly formed words, but languages are constantly developing and some expressions which were previously considered incorrect are now accepted as a norm. The development tendencies of the language constitute its driving force. It should be observed that apart from two basic trends in the development of word formation, i.e. the propensity for abbreviating and the tendency to make information precise, a third trend can be added, namely the automatic use of derivational techniques. More specifically, the creation of derivatives out of native word-forming elements consists merely in their mechanical combining, while any complications are eliminated. It should also be stressed that in the contemporary German abbreviations are created on a mass scale. In addition, the specific nature of the German language consists in its having two parallel word-forming systems: the native word-forming system and the borrowed word-forming system which is based on borrowings from other languages, especially on English word-forming patterns. The contemporary German language borrows from the English language not only suffixes and prefixes, but also morphologically unchanged simple and complex lexemes which are then used to form direct elements of compounds, derivatives and conversions. In the process of composition, the borrowed words get combined both with one another and with the native units. The considerations I have included in my article provide enough evidence to support the claim that the problems connected with word formation are still fashionable and inspire a lot of research. The German language lives, changes, responds to the dominant globalizing tendencies, which is also observable in the field of word formation.

The present paper describes various psycho-social phenomena that occur in groups, in particular in the language classroom. Each group passes through five developmental stages called forming, storming, norming, performing and adjourning. During these phases learners’ behavior and attitudes change, which often leads to conflicts between the teacher and the students. The structure of the group develops in parallel with its dynamics. Students adopt several roles in the group, such as, for example, leader, expert or outsider.

Jednym z warunków opracowania dobrej strategii rozwoju jest to, aby powstawała na zasadach partnerskich a jej właścicielami byli wszyscy uczestnicy procesów rozwojowych w danej Jednostce Samorządu Terytorialnego. Komunikacja wizualna wydaje się doskonałą płaszczyzną prowadzenia dialogu pomiędzy partnerami wywodzącymi się z różnych środowisk. Miasta na prawach powiatu w Polsce są prekursorami ilustrowania planów pozastatutowych. Obecnie stosowany jest stosunkowo wąski wachlarz instrumentów graficznych. Badania wykazały, że nastawienie samorządowców do komunikacji wizualnej w strategiach jest bardzo pozytywne, a bariery w stosowaniu są do pokonania, można przypuszczać, iż kolejne aktualizacje dokumentów będą bogatsze w warstwie graficznej.
One of the key conditions for creating a good development strategy is the stakeholders’ partnership and their shared ownership at the implementation stage. Visual communication seems to be tailored for facilitating dialogue between partners with a variety of professional background and representing different interests. Cities with powiat status are leading the trend of illustrating non statutory planning documents. There is a relatively narrow range of graphics applied. The research results indicated that Polish local government officials have positive attitude towards visual communication, therefore new editions of local strategies are expected to use graphics more extensively.

The subject of the article is how to design a curriculum of a course in Polish language; the author argues that the institution of school exists only and exclusively for a student and because of a student, for his or her overall development (physical, psychological, intellectual, ethical, social as well as cultural advancement) so that he or she can become well prepared to live wisely and with dignity in the rapidly developing world. The overall development of the student is possible only when there is direct, both physical and psychological, contact with a teacher. The type of person the student becomes depends greatly on the character and professional background of the teacher.

The author’s research focuses on specific speech and language disorders. Then, she pays attention to main difficulties and reasons of this phenomenon as well as relation between any developmental disorders, in particular developmental dyslexia. The main aim of the article is to show the research results in the area of dependency between developmental dyslexia and a low level of language abilities. The author answers two main questions. First of all, she wants to find an answer if each child with speech disorder is endangered with developmental dyslexia, and then, if a speed of speech development among all children with mental deficit belonging to a dyslexia risk group is shown. The results of the conducted research show the existing relation between children with speech disorder and a speed of language development. What is more, the author presents a closer correlation between slower language acquisition and dyslexia than in the opposite direction. In the case of the second group of children it is claimed that those children who are endangered by dyslexia had some problems with language acquisition in the past.

Nabywanie kompetencji językowych jest procesem złożonym i długotrwałym. Pierwsze doświadczenia językowe dziecko zdobywa w rodzinie. Na rozwój mowy ma wpływ sposób porozumiewania się rodziców, język rodzeństwa, dziadków, opiekunów. Dziecko w tym okresie jest odbiorcą komunikatów do niego kierowanych oraz mimowolnym słuchaczem wypowiedzi kierowanych do innych członków rodziny. Duży wpływ na rozwój języka w tym okresie ma telewizja i literatura dziecięca. Drugi etap nabywania kompetencji językowych przypada na okres przedszkolny. Dziecko jako członek grupy społecznej poznaje reguły rządzące językiem ojczystym. Kompetencje językowe rozwija podczas zabawy z rówieśnikami, podczas zajęć porannych, kontaktu z  literaturą. Ogromny wpływ na rozwój mowy ma język nauczyciela. Duże utrudnienia w komunikacji powodują zaburzenia w rozwoju mowy. Częste i rzadko występujące wady wymowy diagnozuje i pomaga pokonać logopeda.
Acquiring language competence is a complex and long process. First language experience is acquired by the child at childhood. Development of speech is influenced by the way the parents, siblings or grandparents communicate. Also important in the child’s speech devolpment are television, literature, being a part of social group, playing with its peers, etc. Big difficulty in communication is caused by speech disorder, in which case a speech therapist is needed to treat it.

The article presents an attempt to develop methods of research showing the impact of multi-dimensional reading on the child’s language. According to the author, a multi-faceted study to measure the impact of reading on child’s language ability and disseminate the results of such studies should be implemented in order to promote reading effectively. It should be pointed out that a modern man in fact pays attention on precise figures as well as quantitative and qualitative methods. Autism in spite of so many studies and experiments that take in recent years, there remains still the subject of lively discussion. Often, even disputes as to its complex, controversial nature. Numerous studies, which so far are involving many specialists approached much science to know this extraordinary phenomenon. Their results allowed after all, the development of many wellknown and accepted in the world of programs to stimulate the development of children and young people affected by the said disorder. The effectiveness of many methods but still not satisfied enough to satisfy the expectations of parents and teachers. Recent years have indeed resulted in a distinct change for the better, especially in terms of attitudes towards children with a diagnosis of autism, as well as their parents, but it seems to be far too little compared to the needs. This changed not only the attitude of society, but also the position of perceiving education authorities and health educational needs of children with autism. It turns out that children with a diagnosis of autism requires not only an adequate education, but also the systematic treatment multiprofile social support and rehabilitation of rational interaction. Hence, this study attempted to take this topic cognitive. The author makes an attempt to stimulate social development of children with a diagnosis of autism, the fun with singing and music. The results confirmed the validity of the assumptions that children affected by autism can be incorporated into a play activity. They may be interested in movement and music. You can while having fun make contact with them. You can also without difficulty incorporate them into a peer group, and this is their great achievement.

The paper describes a very significant role of Bible translation in the development of the Slavic national languages. The author focuses on the Polish language which in its literary form was shaped in the Middle Ages but its full functional efficiency was reached in the 16th century. Among the medieval relics, the translation of psalms and other Bible passages played a great cultural role. However, the complete Polish translations of the Holy Bible appeared in the 16th century (Biblia Budnego, Leopolity, Wujka). Those renditions enriched the Polish language with a number of new words. Moreover, they provoked a scientific reflection on the Slavic languages. As a result, the author proposes a thesis asserting that the act of Bible philological translations contributed to further linguistic research.

Children with developmental dyslexia and at its risk have difficulties in the acquisition of foreign languages, especially non-transparent English. The problems of such pupils concern various aspects of the language system but in particular relate to the ability to read and spell. The research literature dedicated to effective preventative methods and dyslexia treatment suggests that both children with dyslexia and at its risk need phonological awareness training and multi-sensory learning. It is also known that prevention and early treatment is more effective than therapeutic intervention used in older students. Experts in foreign language acquisition recommend that children have contact with longer oral texts and live language (e.g., poems and songs). A recently-published report on the methods of English language teaching in Polish primary schools shows that the lessons conducted there do not realise the majority of the aforementioned recommendations. As a consequence, they do not serve any pupils including those with dyslexia and at its risk. A method which meets most of the demands mentioned above is “The Good Start Method for English”. It is a new program of teaching the English language designed for five to seven-year-olds, which at the same time ensures support for the psychomotor development of children, leading to acceleration in learning progress.

This article, dedicated to Professor Stanis³aw Gajda because of his anniversary, raises theoretical issues of accuracy and explicitness of terms used in science which are familiar to him. Logopaedics, by virtue of its interdisciplinary character and exposure to borderline of numerous and often very distant from each other sciences such as anatomy, linguistics or physics, significantly uses appropriate for these sciences tools of descriptions (frequently doubling notions) and thus, it represents a very good example of discipline in which unnecessary overgrowth of terminology makes it difficult to track research results and quality analysis of phenomena. Specific Language Impairment (SLI) is one of those phenomena which, despite numerous trials of finding consensus and settlement on forums of international assemblies, is still differently termed (what suggests the title of this article). On the basis of this phenomenon uniquely interesting for researchers due to its multiformity and changeable character of dysfunction, the author endeavours to indicate how important for the progress of research and exchange of scientific thought is to operate unitary, unambiguous nomenclature and how much justified is the discourse dedicated to cultivating of description tools.

The article presents the results of the survey about specific reading and writing difficulties, which was conducted in the group of 25 students of the first year of postgraduate studies in general logopedics at the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin. The aim of the survey was to establish the level of knowledge about developmental dyslexia possessed by prospective speech therapists and their awareness of the problems facing children and adults suffering from dyslexia as well as of the needs of children with the risk of dyslexia.
W artykule prezentowane są wyniki badań ankietowych dotyczących problematyki specyficznych trudności w czytaniu i pisaniu, przeprowadzonych w 25-osobowej grupie słuchaczy I roku studiów podyplomowych z zakresu logopedii ogólnej Uniwersytetu Marii Curie-Skłodowskiej w Lublinie. Badania miały na celu ustalenie, jaką wiedzą na temat dysleksji rozwojowej dysponują przyszli logopedzi i jaka jest ich świadomość problemów dotykających uczniów i osób dorosłych z dysleksją oraz potrzeb dzieci z ryzykiem dysleksji.
