This paper deals with the problem of stabilization by an estimated state feedback for a family of nonlinear time-delay Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy parameterized systems. The delay is supposed to be constant where the parameter-dependent controls laws are used to compensate the nonlinearities which are formulated in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Based on the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals, global exponential stability of the closed-loop systems is achieved. The controller and observer gains are able to be separately designed even in the presence of modeling uncertainty and state delay. Finally, a numerical example is given to show the applicability of the main result.

In this paper, global exponential stability of a class of uncertain systems with multiple time delays is investigated. Simple delay-independent criterion is derived to guarantee the global exponential stability of such systems. The main result is sharper than the recent result reported in the literature. Two numerical examples are also provided to illustrate the main result.

Opis:
The aim of this paper is to accelerate development and investigation of the delay systems. The computational time for investigation of particular design of delay system may take from several minutes up to several days. To achieve the required constructional parameters of the system, the iterative calculations usually should be repeated many times. In this paper, an artificial neural network is proposed to be used as the universal approximator for solving mathematical problems of delay system investigation instead of usual analytical and numerical techniques. The application of a multi-layer perceptron is proposed for approximation of solution space with discrete estimates, which were initially received by application of numerical techniques. Different structures of the multi-layer perceptron were tested for approximation. The difference between delay systems synthesis, which was estimated using numerical techniques and trained multi-layer perceptron did not exceed 5% for any of the six design parameter values. The execution time for estimating single delay system was reduced from 240 s to 20 ms. Such fast estimation of design parameters enables performing delay system analysis and design in real time, preserving time for structure visualization in 3D or virtual reality environment.

Opis:
In this paper we address the problem of efficient control of continuous-review perishable inventory systems. In the considered systems the goods at a distribution center used to fulfill unknown, variable demand deteriorate at a constant rate, and are replenished with delay from a remote supply source. We develop a new supply policy which incorporates the Smith predictor for dead-time compensation. A number of properties of the designed policy is formulated, and strictly proved. In particular, we show that the policy guarantees that the assigned storage space at the distribution center is never exceeded which means that the cost of emergency storage is eliminated. Moreover, we show that with appropriately chosen controller parameters all of the demand imposed at the distribution center is realized from the readily available resources, thus ensuring the maximum service level.

Opis:
Linear stationary dynamical systems with multiple constant delays in the state are studied. Their relative and approximate controllability properties with constrained controls are discussed. Definitions of various types of controllability with constrained controls for systems with delays in the state are introduced. Some theorems concerning the relative and the approximate relative controllability with constrained controls for dynamical systems with delays in the state are established. Various types of constraints are considered. Numerical examples illustrate the theoretical analysis. An example of a real technical dynamical system is given to indicate one of possible practical applications of the theoretical results.

In this paper, the problem of exponential stability for the standard form of the state control, realized in a networked control system structure, is studied. To deal with the problem of stability analysis of the event-time-driven modes in the networked control systems the delayed-dependent exponential stability conditions are reformulated and proven. Based on the delay-time dependent Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, exponential stability criteria are derived. These criteria are expressed as a set of linear matrix inequalities and their structure can be modified to use the bilinear inequality techniques.

In this paper, the state estimation problem for a class of mismatched uncertain time-delay systems is addressed. The estimation uses observer-based control techniques. The mismatched uncertain time-delay systems investigated in this study include mismatched parameter uncertainties in the state matrix and in the delayed state matrix. First, based on a new lemma with appropriately choosing Lyapunov functional, new results for stabilization of mismatched uncertain time-delay systems are provided on the basis of a linear matrix inequality (LMI) framework and the asymptotic convergence properties for the estimation error is ensured. Second, the control and observer gains are given from single LMI feasible solution which can overcome the drawback of the bilinear matrix inequalities approach often reported in the literature. Finally, a numerical example is used to demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed method.

Opis:
This paper presents the synthesis of a pneumatic control system for a selected configuration of the transport path for the delivery of rolling elements to spiral storage in inter-operational transport. The sequential control system sets the state of the manifolds to ensure a flow of workpieces to serve the subsequent storage. The essential module of the control system is the memory block. It is developed based on a storage filling sequence graph. The filling level of the storages can be monitored in one or two points using sensors. The rolling element displacement control sensors work together with appropriately designed systems to execute the delay of the rising and falling edge input signal. By using a two-level control of the filling level of the storages, it is possible to control the emptying status of the storages as a function of the technological time of removal of the items from the storage between the two control points. Control systems were synthesised and verified using Festo’s FluidSim computer programme.

A distributed discrete-time hereditary system is considered. An unknown input is supposed to be a perturbation. First, we investigate the possibility of reconstructing this input using the information provided by an output equation. Then we treat the problem of keeping the observation as close as possible to some desired values (with the system still perturbed by the unknown input). To illustrate the results, some examples are presented.

In this paper, symbolic computation techniques are used to obtain a canonical form for polynomial matrices arising from linear delay-differential systems of the neutral type. The canonical form can be regarded as an extension of the companion form, often encountered in the theory of linear systems, described by ordinary differential equations. Using the Smith normal form, the exact connection between the original polynomial matrix and the reduced canonical form is set out. An example is given to illustrate the computational aspects involved.

The paper is engaged with the framework of designing adaptive fault estimation for linear continuous-time systems with distributed time delay. The Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional principle is enforced by imposing the integral partitioning method and a new equivalent delaydependent design condition for observer-based assessment of faults are established in terms of linear matrix inequalities. Asymptotic stability conditions are derived and regarded with respect to the incidence of structured matrix variables in the linear matrix inequality formulation. Simulation results illustrate the design approach, and demonstrates power and performance of the actuator fault assessment.

This paper is concerned with the problem of robust stabilization of linear time-varying delay systems containing saturating actuators in the presence of nonlinear parametric perturbations. Based on Razumikhin's approach to the stability of functional differential equations, we determine upper bounds on the time-varying delay such that the uncertain system under consideration is robustly globally or locally asymptotically stabilizable via memoryless state feedback control laws. The obtained bounds are given in terms of solutions to Lyapunov equations. Two numerical examples are included to illustrate the results.

Motion planning, i.e., steering a system from one state to another, is a basic question in automatic control. For a certain class of systems described by ordinary differential equations and called flat systems (Fliess et al., 1995; 1999a), motion planning admits simple and explicit solutions. This stems from an explicit description of the trajectories by an arbitrary time function y, the flat output, and a finite number of its time derivatives. Such explicit descriptions are related to old problems on Monge equations and equivalence investigated by Hilbert and Cartan. The study of several examples (the car with n-trailers and the non-holonomic snake, pendulums in series and the heavy chain, the heat equation and the Euler-Bernoulli flexible beam) indicates that the notion of flatness and its underlying explicit description can be extended to infinite-dimensional systems. As in the finite-dimensional case, this property yields simple motion planning algorithms via operators of compact support. For the non-holonomic snake, such operators involve non-linear delays. For the heavy chain, they are defined via distributed delays. For heat and Euler-Bernoulli systems, their supports are reduced to a point and their definition domain coincides with the set of Gevrey functions of order 2.

The problem of flow control in fast, connection-oriented communication networks supporting the traffic generated by multiple sources is considered. A novel sampled time strategy governing the behaviour of the sources is proposed. The strategy combines the Smith principle with the conventional sampled time proportional controller. It guarantees an equal resource allocation between various users, full bottleneck link utilisation and no cell loss in the controlled network. Consequently, the need for cell retransmission is eliminated and a high throughput is ensured. Furthermore, transmission rates generated by the algorithm are limited. This property permits a direct implementation of the proposed strategy in the network environment. A simulation example confirms favourable performances of the proposed control scheme.

This paper addresses the problems of robust fault estimation and fault-tolerant control for Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy systems with time delays and unknown sensor faults. A fuzzy augmented state and fault observer is designed to achieve the system state and sensor fault estimates simultaneously. Furthermore, based on the information of on-line fault estimates, an observer-based dynamic output feedback fault-tolerant controller is developed to compensate for the effect of faults by stabilizing the resulting closed-loop system. Sufficient conditions for the existence of both a state observer and a fault-tolerant controller are given in terms of linear matrix inequalities. A simulation example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Opis:
Computer simulation of real systems requires often to take into account values of crucial quantities not only at the present time, but also their recent history. Models allowing for a dependence of the rate of change on delayed values of the modeled quantity have been applied in economics to explain cycles in the exchange rates of foreign currencies. For a certain type of model equations, the existence of stable limit cycles has been shown analytically. Certain restrictive conditions on the constitutive functions, describing the behavior of traders, had to be assumed. In this paper, the analytical results are confirmed by computer simulation. Moreover, the existence of limit cycles is computationally verified under much weaker assumptions.
Symulacja komputerowa systemów rzeczywistych częstokroć wymaga uwzględnienia wartości istotnych wielkości nie tylko w chwili aktualnej, a także w chwilach przeszłych. Modele wykazujące zależność szybkości zmiany badanej wielkości od historii przebiegu zostały wprowadzone w ekonomii, żeby wyjaśnić cykliczne zmiany kursów walut. W przypadku pewnego typu równań modelowych istnienie stabilnych cykli granicznych zostało udowodnione analitycznie. W tym celu na funkcje opisujące zachowanie maklerów musiały zostać narzucone pewne ograniczające warunki. W pracy weryfikowano wyniki analityczne drogą symulacji komputerowej. Ponadto pokazano obliczeniowo istnienie cykli granicznych przy znacznie słabszych założeniach.

A new direct method is presented which reduces a given high-order representation of a control system with delays to a firstorder form that is encountered in the study of neutral delay-differential systems. Using the polynomial system description (PMD) setting due to Rosenbrock, it is shown that the transformation connecting the original PMD with the first-order form is Fuhrmann’s strict system equivalence. This type of system equivalence leaves the transfer function and other relevant structural properties of the original system invariant.

The paper deals with the problem of algebraic observability for linear differential-algebraic systems with delay. For such systems, we present the observability matrix. By algebraic properties of the matrix we define some concepts of observability. We give necessary and sufficient conditions of these algebraic observabilities. We prove relations between these types of observabilities along with spectral observability. Practical verifiability of the conditions is demonstrated on several examples.

Global Navigation Satellite Systems give opportunities for atmospheric parameters analysis in behalf of solving many atmosphere monitoring tasks. The authors of this article demonstrated possibility of slant tropospheric delays determination with using precise point positioning method – PPP. The atmospheric parameters, retrieved from GNSS observations, including zenith tropospheric delays, horizontal gradients, and slant tropospheric delays, are analyzed and evaluated. It was obtained slant tropospheric delays, along the satellite path, for each satellite, at a certain elevation angle and azimuth, at each time, instead of obtaining a single zenith tropospheric delay composed of all visible satellites at one time. The results obtained proved that suggested method was correct.
Globalne systemy nawigacji satelitarnej ‒ GNSS ‒ dają możliwości analizy parametrów atmosferycznych do rozwiązywania wielu zadań związanych z monitorowaniem atmosfery. Autorzy tego artykułu zademonstrowali możliwość estymacji opóźnienia troposferycznego w kierunku do satelity za pomocą metody absolutnego precyzyjnego pozycjonowania ‒ PPP. Parametry atmosferyczne, uzyskane z obserwacji GNSS, w tym opóźnienie troposferyczne w kierunku zenitu, gradienty poziomy i opóźnienie troposferyczne w kierunku do satelity są analizowane i oceniane. Otrzymaliśmy opóźnienia troposferyczne w kierunku do satelity dla każdego satelity pod pewnymi kątami wzniesienia i azymutu w każdej chwili, zamiast uzyskać pojedyncze opóźnienie troposferyczne w kierunku zenitu złożone z wszystkich widzialnych satelitów naraz. Uzyskane wyniki wykazały, że sugerowana metoda była prawidłowa.

In this paper, the robust H∞ control problem is considered for uncertain neutral systems with discrete and distributed tirne delays. Some sumcient conditions on H∞, robust performance analysis are obtained in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) by using a descriptor model transformation of the system and by applying Park's inequality for bounding cross terms. Based on these conditions the state-feedback H∞ controller is designed. Numerical examples are included to illustrate the proposed method.

In this paper we deal with the problem of uniform exponential stabilization for a class of distributed bilinear parabolic systems with time delay in a Hilbert space by means of a bounded feedback control. The uniform exponential stabilization problem of such a system reduces to stabilizing only its projection on a suitable finite dimensional subspace. Furthermore, the stabilizing feedback control depends only on the state projection on the finite dimensional subspace. An explicit decay rate estimate of the stabilized state is given provided that a non-standard weaker observability condition is satisfied. Illustrative examples for partial functional differential equations are displayed.

In the paper the problems of controllability, reachability and minimum energy control of a fractional discrete-time linear system with delays in state are addressed. A general form of solution of the state equation of the system is given and necessary and sufficient conditions for controllability, reachability and minimum energy control are established. The problems are considered for systems with unbounded and bounded inputs. The considerations are illustrated by numerical examples. Influence of a value of the fractional order on an optimal value of the performance index of the minimum energy control is examined on an example.

This paper proposes a design procedure for observer-based controllers of discrete-time switched systems, in the presence of state’s time-delay, nonlinear terms, arbitrary switching signals, and affine parametric uncertainties. The proposed switched observer and the state-feedback controller are designed simultaneously using a set of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs).The stability analysis is performed based on an appropriate Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional with one switched expression, and in the meantime, the sufficient conditions for observer-based stabilization are developed. These conditions are formulated in the form of a feasibility test of a proposed bilinear matrix inequality (BMI) which is a non-convex problem. To make the problem easy to solve, the BMI is transformed into a set of LMIs using the singular value decomposition of output matrices. An important advantage of the proposed method is that the established sufficient conditions depend only on the upper bound of uncertain parameters. Furthermore, in the proposed method, an admissible upper bound for unknown nonlinear terms of the switched system may be calculated using a simple search algorithm. Finally, the efficiency of the proposed controller and the validity of the theoretical results are illustrated through a simulation example.

This note addresses the stabilization problem of nonlinear chained-form systems with input time delay. We first employ the so-called σ-process transformation that renders the feedback system under a linear form. We introduce a particular transformation to convert the original system into a delay-free system. Finally, we apply a state feedback control, which guarantees a quasi-exponential stabilization to all the system states, which in turn converge exponentially to zero. Then we employ the so-called -type control to achieve a quasi-exponential stabilization of the subsequent system. A simulation example illustrated on the model of a wheeled mobile robot is provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Modern inventory control is anchored in vastly advanced and complex models, which require considerable computational efforts. In this paper, we use a mathematical model of an inventory system with large supply delay and control system in order to optimize goods flow in inventory systems. The paper proposes the use of automatic control systems to control the system for supplementary orders. A discrete-time, dynamic model of the warehouse system is assumed for the analysis. For the given model, two automatic control systems: adaptive and classical non-adaptive periodic inventory systems , are analyzed. The non-adaptive control system is well known in the literature and the second one is its extension. The parameters of the control system are tuned by minimizing the cost function using a genetic algorithm for the assumed scenario for the market demand. Results of numerical simulations of the dynamical system and selected results in the objective space are presented in the paper.

The robust H∞ control problem is considered for a class of uncertain neutral system involving both state and control input time-varying delays. The uncertainties under consideration are nonlinear time-varying parameter perturbations. The methodology is based on the Lyapunov functional combined with a unified LMI approach, and a new delay-dependent criterion is proposed to guarantee the stabilization and disturbance attenuation of systems. Moreover, a convex optimization approach is used to solve the robust H∞ control disturbance attenuation problem. Finally, a numerical example is illustrated to show the validity of this paper. The simulation results reveal significant improvement over the recent results.

The problems of both single and multiple delays for neutral-type uncertain systems are considered. First, for single neutral time delay systems, based on a Razumikhin-type theorem, some delay-dependent stability criteria are derived in terms of the Lyapunov equation for various classes of model transformation and decomposition techniques. Second, robust control for neutral systems with multiple time delays is considered. Finally, we demonstrate numerical examples to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed approaches. Compared with results existing in the literature, our methods are shown to be superior to them.

Opis:
Nonlinear dynamic processes with time-varying time delays can often be encountered in industry. Time-delay estimation for nonlinear dynamic systems with time-varying time delays is an important issue for system identification. In order to estimate the dynamics of a process, a dynamic neural network with an external recurrent structure is applied in the modeling procedure. In the case where a delay is time varying, a useful way is to develop on-line time-delay estimation mechanisms to track the time-delay variation. In this paper, two schemes called direct and indirect time-delay estimators are proposed. The indirect time-delay estimator considers the procedure of time-delay estimation as a nonlinear programming problem. On the other hand, the direct time-delay estimation scheme applies a neural network to construct a time-delay estimator to track the time-varying time-delay. Finally, a numerical example is considered for testing the proposed methods.

It is done by using the Rothe’s fixed point theorem together with some sub-linear conditions on the nonlinear term, the impulsive functions, and the function describing the nonlocal conditions. Furthermore, a control steering the semilinear system from an initial state to a final state is exhibited.

Proportional integral controller design for two-input two-output (TITO) networked control systems (NCSs) with intrinsic and network-induced time delays is studied in this paper. The TITO NCS consists of two delayed sub-systems coupled in a 1-1/2-2 pairing mode. In order to simplify the controller design, a decoupling method is first applied to obtain a decoupled system. Then, the controllers are designed based on the transfer function matrix of the obtained decoupled system and using the boundary locus method for determining the stability region and the well-known Mikhailov criterion for the stability test. A comparative analysis of the designed controllers and other controllers proposed in previous literature works is thereafter carried out. To demonstrate the validity and efficacy of the proposed method and to show that it achieves better results than other methods proposed in earlier literature works, the implementation in simulation of Wood–Berry distillation column model (methanol–water separation), a well-known benchmark for TITO systems, is carried out.

This paper investigates the problem of fault tolerant control of a class of uncertain switched nonlinear systems with time delay under asynchronous switching. The systems under consideration suffer from delayed switchings of the controller. First, a fault tolerant controller is proposed to guarantee exponentially stability of the switched systems with time delay. The dwell time approach is utilized for stability analysis and controller design. Then the proposed approach is extended to take into account switched time delay systems with Lipschitz nonlinearities and structured uncertainties. Finally, a numerical example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

This paper studies an LMI optimization problem of delay-dependent robust stability criteria for stochastic systems with polytopic and linear fractional uncertainties. The delay is assumed to be time-varying and belong to a given interval, which means that lower and upper bounds of this interval time-varying delay are available. The uncertainty under consideration includes polytopic-type uncertainty and linear fractional norm-bounded uncertainty. Based on the new Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, some inequality techniques and stochastic stability theory, delay-dependent stability criteria are obtained in terms of Linear Matrix Inequalities (LMIs). Moreover, the derivative of time delays is allowed to take any value. Finally, four numerical examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method and to show an improvement over some results found in the literature.

Opis:
W pracy przedstawiono wyniki analizy literaturowej zagadnień związanych ze sterowaniem przepływem materiałów w systemach magazynowych. Na podstawie zaproponowanego dyskretnego, niestacjonarnego, dynamicznego modelu systemu magazynowego ze zmiennym w czasie opóźnieniem stworzono układ sterowania. Przedstawiona koncepcja usprawnienia przepływu towarów wykorzystuje predyktor Smitha z regulatorem PID. Do doboru optymalnych nastaw parametrów układu regulacji zastosowany został algorytm genetyczny. Wskaźnik jakości skonstruowano na bazie: kosztów tworzenia i utrzymania zapasów oraz utraconych zysków, tj. różnic między zapotrzebowaniem a sprzedażą produktów. Wskaźnik ten odzwierciedla, jak system sterowania zamówieniami nadąża za zmieniającymi się potrzebami rynku. Problem ten jest istotny w przedsiębiorstwach produkcyjnych i handlowych, które dążą do minimalizacji czasu realizacji operacji magazynowych i maksymalizacji przepustowości magazynu przy zapewnieniu ciągłości procesu produkcyjnego i sprzedaży. Sformułowano opis matematyczny systemu sterowania oraz problemu optymalizacji. Dokonano jego implementacji stosując algorytm genetyczny. Przedstawione zostały wyniki badań symulacyjnych ukazujące jakość zaproponowanego układu regulacji w środowisku MATLAB/Simulink.
There are a number of theorems and techniques that view inventory management from variant perspectives. The recent progress in research has resulted in innovative and more general techniques that can reduce the supply chain costs fundamentally. Modern inventory control is anchored in vastly advanced and complex models, which require considerable computational efforts. In this paper, we use a mathematical model of a warehouse system with time-varying delivery delay and adapt control system in order to apply it to the problem of goods flow in inventory systems. On the basis of the analysis of the inventory system, we propose a control system, then made its initial verification in the way of computer simulation in MATLAB/Simulink. The concept of improving the flow of materials is based on the structure of the Smith predictor and the PID controller. We perform optimization studies using genetic algorithm. Two quality indicators are subjected to minimization: the total costs of creating and maintaining inventories and differences between the demand and sales of products – the value of providing on whether the storage system keep up with the changing needs of the market (avoid stoppages). In this article, we mainly want to show that our idea of control system is able to achieve a high service level with maintaining a given inventory capacity to avoid redundancy.

W pracy zaproponowano wykorzystanie regulatora niecałkowitego rzędu w systemie magazynowym z automatycznym sterowaniem wielkością dostaw. Rozważania oparto na dyskretnym, niestacjonarnym, dynamicznym modelu systemu magazynowego ze zmiennym w czasie opóźnieniem. W układzie sterowania zamówieniami wykorzystano dyskretny regulator niecałkowitego rzędu PDμ, strukturę feedback-feedforward oraz zmodyfikowany predyktor Smitha. Parametry układu regulacji zostały wyznaczone w wyniku optymalizacji z wykorzystaniem algorytmu genetycznego. W celu oceny jakości regulacji zastosowane zostały wskaźniki jakości bazujące na ocenie zajętości powierzchni magazynowej oraz utraconych korzyści. Przedstawione zostały wyniki badań symulacyjnych dla regulatorów całkowitego oraz niecałkowitego rzędu, co umożliwiło dokonanie analizy porównawczej skuteczności działania obu regulatorów.
In the paper a fractional controller is employed in the automatic control warehouse system. A discrete, non-stationary and dynamic model with variable time delay of the inventory system is assumed. The control system uses a discrete fractional order feedback-feedforward PDμ controller with Smith predictor. The parameters of the control system are determined using numerical optimization – genetic algorithm. In order to assess the control quality a two quality indicators are employed. First one bases on an assessment of occupancy of warehouse space and second one the lost benefits. The simulation results are shown for two controllers: fractional controller and for comparison for classical integer order PD controller.

Opis:
Jednym z ważniejszych problemów w przetwarzaniu sygnałów w systemach pomiarowych jest zaprojektowanie analogowych filtrów charakteryzujących się maksymalnie płaską charakterystyką amplitudową oraz mozliwie stałą funkcją opóźnienia grupowego w paśmie przepustowym. W artykule przedstawiona zostanie koncepcja dolnoprzepustowych filtrów Butterwortha ze skompensowaną charakterystyką fazową do których wprowadzono zmienne w czasie współczynniki. Na wstępie omówiono ideę kompensacji charakterystyk opóźnienia grupowego filtrów wraz z problemami wynikającymi z kompensacji w dziedzinie czasu. Następnie dobrano funkcje współczynników skompensowanych filtrów tak. aby maksymalnie skrócić ich stan nieustalony w sensie czasu ustalania przy minimalnych, przejściowych zaburzeniach sygnału w dziedzinie częstotliwości. Tak zaprojektowane układy zostały porównane z ich klasycznymi odpowiednikami w celu wykazania korzyści wynikających z wprowadzenia zmiennych w czasie współczynników do struktur filtrów.
One of the important problems of signal processing in measurement systems is to design a continuous–time filter that provides both a maximally flat magnitude response and a constant group delay over the desired frequency band. In this paper, we propose a concept of phase-compensated lowpass Butterworth filters to whom the time-varying coefficients were introduced. At the beginning, an idea of the group delay compensation together with the problems resulted from the compensation in the time domain will be discussed. Next, the functions of coefficients of compensated filters will be selected so as to shorten their transient in the sense of the settling time at minimal and temporary signal distortions in the frequency domain. Such a designed systems will be compared with their classical equivalents in order to point out great advantages from the introduction of time-varying coefficients to the filter structures.

Opis:
In this paper, the problems of finite-time stability and stabilization for a class of singular time-delay systems are studied. Using the Lyapunov-like functional (LLF) with (exponential or power) weighting function and a new estimation method for the lower bound on LLF, some sufficient stability conditions are introduced. It is shown that the weighting function significantly reduces the conservatism of the stability criteria in comparison to estimation of the lower bound on LLF without this function. To solve the finite-time stabilization problem, a stabilizing linear state controller is designed by exploiting the cone complementarity linearization algorithm. Two numerical examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
