Opis:
In this paper, the authors study the 3D propagation of sound waves between two closed spaces. The separation element between the two rooms is considered to include either a small opening or a homogeneous lightweight panel, coupling the two spaces. A numerical study of this configuration is performed, trying to understand the influence of the position and geometry of this opening in the sound pressure level reduction curve at low and midfrequencies. Additionally, the coupling effect between the two acoustic spaces is analyzed, in order to better understand its importance when determining the sound pressure level reduction. Different boundary conditions are ascribed to the walls of these rooms, simulating both the completely reflecting and partially absorbing surfaces. The numerical modelling was performed using a multi-domain formulation of the Method of Fundamental Solutions (MFS). The system is composed of two coupled rooms, limited by rigid or by absorbing walls, and separated by a thin wall (tending to null thickness) with a small opening. An experimental validation of the proposed model is presented, comparing its results with those found experimentally for a reduced-scale model. It is important to note that, for such a configuration, a traditional single-domain approach using methods like the MFS or the BEM would lead to undetermined equation systems, and thus the proposed model makes use of a domain decomposition technique.

While cycloid pin-wheel precision reducers (referred to as RV reducers) are widely used in industrial robots, a widely accepted design standard or verification method of their test platforms is not available. In this study, a comprehensive sliding-separation test platform of RV reducers was developed. The test platform can test various measurement items such as transmission error, static measurement of lost motion, dynamic measurement of lost motion, torsional rigidity, no-load running torque, starting torque, backdriving torque, and transmission efficiency of the RV reducer for robots. The principle and method of dynamic measurement of lost motion tests based on the two-way transmission error method were studied and this test function was successfully integrated with the comprehensive test platform in order to increase the test items of the dynamic performance parameters of RV reducers. The measurement results of the no-load running torque of the RV reducer were consistent with the Stribeck curve. Based on the concept of optimal measurement speed, a decomposition test method of the geometric component of the dynamic measurement of lost motion and the elastic component of the dynamic measurement of lost motion was proposed in the dynamic measurement test of lost motion. Through precision calibration, function test and repeatability test, the results were compared with the data of enterprise’s samples. The consistent results have proved that the test platform met engineering requirements and measurement accuracy requirements. Based on the new test principle, the developed platform can test more parameters of RV reducers with high precision and display the comprehensive test performance.

Opis:
The learning of neural networks is becoming more and more important. Researchers have constructed dozens of learning algorithms, but it is still necessary to develop faster, more flexible, or more accurate learning algorithms. With fast learning we can examine more learning scenarios for a given problem, especially in the case of meta-learning. In this article we focus on the construction of a much faster learning algorithm and its modifications, especially for nonlinear versions of neural networks. The main idea of this algorithm lies in the usage of fast approximation of the Moore–Penrose pseudo-inverse matrix. The complexity of the original singular value decomposition algorithm is O(mn2). We consider algorithms with a complexity of O(mnl), where l < n and l is often significantly smaller than n. Such learning algorithms can be applied to the learning of radial basis function networks, extreme learning machines or deep ELMs, principal component analysis or even missing data imputation.

Opis:
This paper aims to address the problems of inaccurate location and large computation in hybrid transmission line traveling wave detection methods. In this paper, a new fault location method based on empirical Fourier decomposition (EFD) and the Teager energy operator (TEO) is proposed. Firstly, the combination of EFD and the TEO is used to detect the time difference between the arrival of the initial traveling wave of the fault at the two measurement ends of the hybrid line. Then, when the fault occurs at the midpoint of each line segment and at the connection point of the hybrid line, the time difference between the arrival of the fault traveling wave at the two measurement ends of the line is calculated according to the line parameters. By comparing the obtained time differences, it is determined whether the fault occurs in the first or second half of the line. Finally, the fault distance is calculated using the double-ended traveling wave method according to the fault section. The model was built on PSCAD and the proposed algorithm was simulated on MATLAB platform. The results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves an average fault location accuracy of 98.88% by adjusting transition resistances and fault distances and comparing with other location methods. After validation, the proposed method for locating faults has a high level of accuracy in location, computational efficiency, and reliability. It can accurately identify fault segments and locations in hybrid transmission line systems.

The paper presents an innovative approach for the index assessment of the acous- tic properties of churches. A new formula for an approximate single number index to assess selected acoustic parameters of church interiors, such as reverberation time (RT), speech intelligibility index (RASTI) and music clarity index (C80), is presented in the paper. The formula is created by means of the Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) method. An innovative approach for calculating the weights of partial in- dices is shown by solving the problem of redundant information, i.e., the system of overdetermined linear equations, using a computed pseudoinverse matrix. The new procedures for calculating the values of three partial indices and the single number index to assess selected acoustic parameters are presented. The proposed method was verified by measurements in several selected churches.

With the aim to better preserve sharp edges and important structure features in the recovered image, this article researches an improved adaptive total variation regularization and H-1 norm fidelity based strategy for image decomposition and restoration. Computationally, for minimizing the proposed energy functional, we investigate an efficient numerical algorithm—the split Bregman method, and briefly prove its convergence. In addition, comparisons are also made with the classical OSV (Osher–Sole–Vese) model (Osher et al., 2003) and the TV-Gabor model (Aujol et al., 2006), in terms of the edge-preserving capability and the recovered results. Numerical experiments markedly demonstrate that our novel scheme yields significantly better outcomes in image decomposition and denoising than the existing models.

Opis:
The analysis of wide angle X-ray diffraction (WAXD) curves of semicrystalline polymers is connected with their decomposition into crystalline peaks and amorphous components. To this aim a theoretical curve is constructed which is a best fitted, mathematical model of the experimental one. All parameters of the theoretical curve are found using an optimization procedure. As it has been already proved, a reliable decomposition can be performed only by means of a procedure which effectively performs a multicriterial optimization. It consists in minimization of the sum of squared deviations between the theoretical and experimental curves and simultaneous maximization of the area of the amorphous component. So, the objective function in the optimization procedure is constructed of two criterial functions which represent the two requirements. The proportions between the criterial functions and their significance at different stages of the procedure must be determined by suitable weights. A proper choice of the weights is an important part of the procedure. In this paper a new solution of this problem is presented: the weights are changed dynamically in subsequent steps of the optimization procedure. A few different algorithms of the weights determination are presented and evaluated by means of several statistical method. The optimization procedures equipped with these algorithms are tested using WAXD patterns of popular polymers: Cellulose I, Cellulose II and PET. It is shown that the optimization procedures equipped with the dynamic algorithms of weights determination are much more effective than the procedures using some constant, arbitrarily chosen weights.
Procedury wyposażone w te algorytmy zastosowano do rozkładu krzywych dyfrakcyjnych celulozy I, celulozy II i poliestru. Wykazano, że procedury wyposażone w dynamiczne algorytmy wyznaczania wag są znacznie bardziej skuteczne niż procedury wykorzystujące wagi stałe, ustalone arbitralnie.

Two possible ways of deN2O reaction, low temperature and high-temperature, can be distinguished. Promising results were obtained for spinel oxides which contained cobalt. Because of cationic redox route, triggered by electron transfer, of N2O decomposition over these oxides, investigation of their electronic properties was justifi ed. In this paper - on the basis of indicator diagram processing taken as an example - were shown possibilities of the smoothing-out and decomposing of run disturbances with the use of the movable multiple approximation based on the least squares criterion. The notion was defined of movable approximating object and constraints used to form approximation features. It was demonstrated that the multiple approximation can be used to decompose disturbances out of an analyzed run. The obtained smoothing-out results were compared with those obtained from full-interval approximation of runs by means of splines as well as wavelet decomposition with using various wavelets, Wavelet Explorer and Mathematica software. Smoothing-out quality was assessed by comparing runs of first derivatives which play crucial role in the advanced processing of indicator diagrams.

The Painlevé equations and their solutions occur in some areas of theoretical physics, pure and applied mathematics. This paper applies natural decomposition method (NDM) and Laplace decomposition method (LDM) to solve the second-order Painlevé equation. These methods are based on the Adomain polynomial to find the non-linear term in the differential equation. The approximate solution of Painlevé equations is determined in the series form, and recursive relation is used to calculate the remaining components. The results are compared with the existing numerical solutions in the literature to demonstrate the efficiency and validity of the proposed methods. Using these methods, we can properly handle a class of non-linear partial differential equations (NLPDEs) simply. Novelty: One of the key novelties of the Painlevé equations is their remarkable property of having only movable singularities, which means that their solutions do not have any singularities that are fixed in position. This property makes the Painlevé equations particularly useful in the study of non-linear systems, as it allows for the construction of exact solutions in certain cases. Another important feature of the Painlevé equations is their appearance in diverse fields such as statistical mechanics, random matrix theory and soliton theory. This has led to a wide range of applications, including the study of random processes, the dynamics of fluids and the behaviour of non-linear waves.

One of the main aspects of logic synthesis dedicated to FPGA is the problem of technology mapping, which is directly associated with the logic decomposition technique. This paper focuses on using configurable properties of CLBs in the process of logic decomposition and technology mapping. A novel theory and a set of efficient techniques for logic decomposition based on a BDD are proposed. The paper shows that logic optimization can be efficiently carried out by using multiple decomposition. The essence of the proposed synthesis method is multiple cutting of a BDD. A new diagram form called an SMTBDD is proposed. Moreover, techniques that allow finding the best technology mapping oriented to configurability of CLBs are presented. In the experimental section, the presented method (MultiDec) is compared with academic and commercial tools. The experimental results show that the proposed technology mapping strategy leads to good results in terms of the number of CLBs.
