Opis:
The aim of this article is to outline the issues related to the specificity of the image of the writer and his role in society created in Tadeusz Konwicki’s early works. This stage in the writer’s life opens with the first short story that Konwicki published, namely “Kapral Koziołek i ja” from 1947, after which the initial model of his writing is subject to gradual erosion and ends between 1954 and 1955 with the novel titled Z oblężonego miasta. Investigating the motif of the creative work house on the basis of Z oblężonego miasta is a pretext for reflection on the category of the writer’s work. The article traces the motifs of the professional category of the writer, through analysing the constructions on which Konwicki’s narratives are based. At the same time, due to the analysis of social discourse in which the author participated, the article outlines the social functions he performed at a given time.

The author of the article compares the writer‘s poetic and horticultural activity. She is interested in Vilnius heritage (especially that connected with Stanisław Bonifacy Jundziłł), which shaped the natural sensitivity of the poet, and the famed home garden at Oak Park (the suburbs of Chicago), or, as Ryszard Sawicki suggested, Karpowicz’s “American Wilno”. The author of the text asks about the discord between the consciously worked-out lack of sensuality of the poet‘s poems and the sensual richness of the gardener who describes his attitude to nature in interviews and letters. She also propounds the thesis that Karpowicz’s poetry can be interpreted as a conceptual escape from the garden and sensuality, from the imposing and never overstretched nature of nature, and from this perspective it may be viewed also as yet another form of Karpowicz’s “creative negation”. Karpowicz-creator breaks with referentiality embedded in a concrete, sensual experience; he shifts attention from what is found to what is potential. He does not seem to think back to the “place on Earth”; he rather actively creates its own “place in existence”. He creates it − like his “American Vilnius” – from scratch.

Tekst jest próbą rekonstrukcji koncepcji „ja” i osobowości według Henri’ego Bergsona w świetle jego koncepcji ewolucji twórczej. Pojęcia „ja” i osobowości w filozofii Bergsona pełnią funkcję łączenia i odgraniczania przedmiotowych i podmiotowych aktów ludzkich. Pierwsze z nich określają miejsce ewolucyjnego jednoczenia się „trwania” i „rozwoju” oraz konfliktu między tym, co gatunkowe, a tym, co jednostkowe, drugie zaś mają charakter podmiotowy i pozwalają określać się jako procesy twórczej wolności. Bergsona koncepcja dwóch „ja” (głębokiego i powierzchniowego) jest rozpatrywana jako korespondująca z dwiema koncepcjami twórczości, z ujęciem ewolucyjnym i kreacyjnym.
The paper is an attempt to reconstruct Bergson’s conception of self and personality in the perspective of his conception of creative evolution. The concepts of self and personality in Bergson’s philosophy play the role of connecting and separating objective and subjective human acts. The former characterize the evolutionary unification of ‘duration’ and ‘development’ as well as the conflict between what belongs to the species and what is individual, while the latter have a subjective character and may be described as processes of creative freedom. Bergson’s conception of two selves (superficial and deep) is analyzed as corresponding to his twofold conception of creativity: the evolutionary and the creationary.

The main point of the article is to achieve a kind of clarity on the topic of hipsterism. The mean-ing of the word ‘hipster’ has undergone many changes in terms of its common understanding, since it first occurred in 1940s. Due to ironic discourse in media based on American popculture and stereotypes, unveiling its actual meaning nowadays is almost impossible. Especially for Eastern Europeans unable to grasp the context with all its nuances. The common conception of the word ‘hipster’ in Poland is close to ‘poser’ and revolves around particular negative connota-tions. This is however a simplified meaning. In fact, sticking to this particular understanding based on an image presented in the media prevents us from delving into more interesting con-texts of hipsterism. Having explained mechanisms of misunderstanding the word, the author turns to examine different aspects - historical, sociological, cultural and economical – of the ‘hip-sters issue’. There is an affinity between hipster behavior and the creative class theory by Rich-ard Florida. Hipsterism appears also as a novelty in terms of counterculture. Actually it is push-ing counterculture into the age of late modernity giving it a form that is fully addressing changes like globalization, mass production, inquisitive, aggressive marketing. At last, author examines the issue of locality and Polish inclinations regarding hipsterism. The most crucial point, howev-er, is setting a boundary between what most of us regards as “hipsterism” (the posering) and what the initial concept of it implied (the independence). What turns out is that the previous, seemingly forgotten by the public discourse, meaning can be applied to some interesting and positive post-modern phenomena.

This paper gives an introduction to "Interculture TV", an educational videocast project initiated by the Department of "Intercultural Studies and Business Communications" at the Friedrich Schiller University, Jena. The project provides open access to audio-visual teaching/learning materials produced by intercultural student work groups and offers opportunities for cooperation. Starting from a definition of the term "educast", the article analyses the videocast episodes on Interculture TV and discusses their potential for inter-cultural instruction and learning.

W globalnym podziale pracy twórczej muzycy japońscy doświadczają nierówności implikowanych przez przynależność etniczno-rasową, wynikającą z przekonania, że zdolność uprawiania autentycznej muzyki klasycznej jest poniekąd genetycznie uwarunkowana. Zgodnie z urasowionym dyskursem zakorzenione w „kulturze zachodniej” klasyczne kompozycje mogą być poprawnie zinterpretowane jedynie przez wykonawców urodzonych i wychowanych w Europie. W literaturze dotyczącej transnarodowości i migracji brakuje studiów analizujących uwarunkowania międzynarodowej mobilności w zawodach artystycznych. Temat mobilności artystycznej napędzanej strukturami nierówności etniczno-rasowych strukturyzujących sektor muzyki klasycznej nie został także podjęty przez badaczy przemysłów kreatywnych/kulturalnych. Celem tego artykułu jest wypełnienie tej luki.  Opierając się na bogatym materiale empirycznym zebranym w trzech lokalizacjach: w Paryżu, Warszawie i Tokio, artykuł ten analizuje doświadczenia zawodowej mobilności wśród japońskich muzyków klasycznych funkcjonujących pomiędzy rodzimymi i europejskimi środowiskami muzycznymi. Analiza koncentruje się z jednej strony na elementach, które napędzają transnarodową mobilność i jednocześnie ją ograniczają. Z drugiej strony pokażę, w jaki sposób japońscy muzycy klasyczni, budując kosmopolityczne więzi koleżeńskie, pokonują bariery związane z rynkiem pracy i restrykcyjnymi politykami migracyjnymi, aby móc kontynuować swoje transnarodowe przedsięwzięcia artystyczne.
In the global classical music industry, Japanese musicians experience inequalities implied by ethnicity and race, based on the belief that the ability to practice ‘authentic’ classical music is, in a way, genetically determined. In the racialized discourse of ‘authenticity’ in classical music correct interpretation of classical compositions is associated with an essentialized concept of Western heritage, where it is rooted. The aim of this article is to demonstrate how this discourse along with the ethnic and racial inequalities, which structure classical music sector, shape transnational career paths among Japanese musicians. Heretofore, international mobility in artistic profession has been understudied in the literature on transnationality and migration. The existing research analyzes mobility among classical musicians either in terms of the cosmopolitan careers of established artists or as a precarious journey of freelancers moving between international music milieus in search of work. Based on the extensive empirical material collected in three locations: Paris, Warsaw and Tokyo, this article analyzes the experiences of professional mobility among Japanese classical musicians operating between native and European musical environments. The analysis homes in on the elements that drive and limit transnational mobility. Furthermore, I will show how Japanese classical musicians strive to continue their transnational artistic endeavors by developing ‘cosmopolitan sociability’ in order to overcome barriers related to the labor market as well as restrictive migration policies.

The article deals with speculative creative practices aimed at restoring the importance of Slavic mythology with its strongly defined matriarchal tradition. As the author understands it, these practices undertaken by Ukrainian artists are interventionist and political in nature, aiming to create a feasible utopia in the region of Central and Eastern Europe thanks to which people would be able to better cope with the contemporary challenges. While analysing the play Kreshany directed by Olena Apchel from the Zagłębie Theatre in Sosnowiec, the author wonders what Central and Eastern Europe would have looked like if it had not adopted Christianity at the end of the 10th century AD, or if the tradition of Greco-Roman mythology, typical of the Western world, had been reinterpreted in the key of East Slavic beliefs. In the author’s understanding, the speculative visions of the past sketched in such a way serve the function of decolonial thinking aimed at counteracting the phenomenon of epistemicide (as understood by B. de Sousa Santos) while at the same time showing the benefits of relational cognition based on compassionate thinking.

Zadanie polega na wspólnym namalowaniu abstrakcyjnego „Monumentalnego Obrazu”. Artykuł jest opisem badań własnych przeprowadzonych na niehomogenicznej grupie uczniów, metodą studium przypadku.
The article and the research presented in it are an attempt to resolve the creative crisis observed in students of grades 4-7 of primary school. The author tries to reawaken creative activity and the joy of creation by involving all students of the above-mentioned classes in a group art project. The task is to paint an abstract "Monumental Picture" together. The article is a description of the author's own research carried out on a non-homogeneous group of students using the case study method.

This paper focuses on the letters (starting in 1907) that Maria Komornicka addressed to her mother, written from the psychiatric and mental institutions where she was confined. Notably, in these writings the first-person voice is a male subject. The important experience which this epistolary reflects is the rejection of the mental illness as a social construction which can define the author’s identity. The present article examines the narrative self, self-modalities and identity, and how the author writes the self to refuse and fight against the imposed, attributed disease. Among the key themes which will be explored are: an epistolary record documenting the conditions and contexts of the author’s opposition to clinical isolation, misunderstanding and uncertainty as essential components of anti-diagnostic discourse, linguistic strategies to invalidate the practices of exclusion and medicalization, and creativity and healing through letter-writing.

Artykuł został zainspirowany nauczaniem papież Franciszka, który w adhortacji apostolskiej Evangelii gaudium (2013) napisał następująco: „Głoszenie orędzia ewangelicznego różnym kulturom pociąga za sobą także głoszenie kierowane do kręgów intelektualnych: przedstawicieli wolnych zawodów, naukowców i środowisk akademickich. Chodzi o spotkanie między wiarą, rozumem i nauką, w dążeniu do omówienia i przedyskutowania wiarygodności, oryginalnej apologetyki, pomagającej w stworzeniu takich postaw, aby Ewangelia była słuchana przez wszystkich. Jeśli pewne dziedziny nauki i kategorie myślenia są przyjęte do głoszenia orędzia, to stają się one narzędziami ewangelizacji; to woda przemieniona w wino” (n. 132). W artykule rozwija się pojęcie „oryginalnej apologetyki”, jako wiarygodnej i etycznej interakcji pomiędzy wiarą, rozumem i naukami szczegółowymi. Te nauki uczą nas, że świat jest racjonalny, aczkolwiek jednocześnie one same pozostają tylko na poziomie zwykłej użyteczności ludzkiej. Rozum filozoficzny z kolei prowadzi nas do nowego horyzontu, który otwiera się poza rzeczywistością pięciu zmysłów. Teologia wreszcie pozwala nam zaakceptować i zrozumieć Objawienie Boże w Jezusie Chrystusie.
The paper was inspired by the teaching of Pope Francis who wrote in the Apostolic Exhortation Evangelii Gaudium (2013) as follows: „Proclaiming the Gospel message to different cultures also involves proclaiming it to professional, scientific and academic circles. This means an encounter between faith, reason and the sciences with a view to developing new approaches and arguments on the issue of credibility, a creative apologetics which would encourage greater openness to the Gospel on the part of all. When certain categories of reason and the sciences are taken up into the proclamation of the message, these  categories then become tools of evangelization; water is changed into wine” (n. 132). The article develops a notion „a creative apologetics” as credible and ethical interaction between faith, reason and the sciences. The sciences teach us that the world is rational, although they remain  simultaneously on the level of ordinary human usefulness only. The philosophical reason in turn leads us to a new horizon which opens itself beyond the reality of our five senses. Theology, finally, lets us accept and understand God`s revelation in Jesus Christ.

Tekst skupia się na analizie i interpretacji codziennej praktyki twórczej – robienia przestrzeni – Hanny Rechowicz, przy użyciu wywiadu antropologicznego częściowo ustrukturyzowanego i etnografii wizualnej, a także teorii dobieranych na zasadzie metody analizy kulturowej wg Mieke Bal. Wywodząc kategorie opisu i analizy od doświadczenia uczestnictwa w procesie twórczyni, zajmuję się kolejno etapami praktyki twórczej Rechowicz: tknieniem, dawaniem, szukaniem miejsca i odchodzeniem. Przy analizie całokształtu praktyki dochodzę do wniosków, że jest on kobiecy, eksperymentem, zabawą, buntem i w swej istocie polega na operowaniu relacjami.
The text focuses on analysing and interpreting Hanna Rechowicz’s daily creative praxis – making space – by using a partially structured anthropological interview and visual ethnography, as well as theories selected according to the Mieke Bal method of cultural analysis. By deriving analysis and description categories from experiencing participation in the artist’s creative process the author deals successively with stages in Rechowicz’s creative praxis: touch, giving, seeking place, and departure. While analysing this praxis as a whole the author concludes that it is feminine, an experiment, fun, and rebellion, and essentially consists of operating with relations.

Opis:
The purpose of this paper is to present an analysis of selected organisational and individual factors affecting innovativeness of organisations. The authors have focused on the mechanisms which are triggered within an organisation whose managing officers deliberately choose to support their employees’ inventiveness, creativity and provide them with talent management in order to develop a good organisational culture. This article is supposed to depict the analysed phenomena from a broad perspective. Therefore, the authors have included references not only to studies focusing on benefits which can be attained by organisations which support creativity, but also to those which analyse factors preventing companies from benefitting from an openness to innovation and creativity in their work environments.

Opis:
The article analyses the creative process of Hans Christian Andersen. The author focuses on the writer’s early years and then juxtaposes them with his mature creative period. The author draws attention to problems in interpreting the translated works, demonstrating their nature based on various endings of “The Snow Queen”. Then she analyses what, how and with what means Andersen wrote. The section devoted to Andersen’s journals analyses his goals and aspirations and how his travel records later translated into his literature. In the next part, she presents the process seen through the eyes of the writer himself and his critics. Her conclusions emphasise the intense sensuality of Andersen’s works, his connection with the spoken language and the writer’s late conviction that he managed to make good use of his God-given gifts.
Celem artykułu jest analiza procesu twórczego Hansa Christiana Andersena. Autorka skupia się na wczesnych latach twórczości pisarza, a następnie zestawia je z dojrzałym okresem jego twórczości. Zwraca uwagę na problemy z interpretacją utworów tłumaczonych oraz pokazuje pojawiające się w nich różnice na podstawie rożnych zakończeń Królowej Śniegu. Następnie analizuje, na czym, w jaki sposób i przy użyciu jakich środków pisał Andersen. W części poświęconej dziennikom pisarza analizuje cele i aspiracje Andersena oraz sposób, w jaki zapisy z podróży przekładają się później na zapis literacki. W kolejnej części przedstawia proces twórczy widziany oczyma samego pisarza oraz jego krytyków. We wnioskach końcowych podkreśla silną sensualność utworów Andersena, związki z językiem mówionym oraz towarzyszące baśniopisarzowi pod koniec życia przekonanie, że udało mu się dobrze wykorzystać dar, który otrzymał od Boga.
