Opis:
W obliczu kryzysu ekologicznego John D. Zizioulas proponuje własną wizję relacji człowieka do stworzenia.
The ecological crisis is a huge challenge for humanity because it threatens everyone and the whole world. Theology should develop an appropriate theological model that will make a constructive contribution to the solution of this problem. There are many statements on this subject today, but the most systematic and in-depth vision is brought by the concept of the Eastern theologian John D. Zizioulas. The article is to present first the theological vision of man in the context of ecological threat and the concept of man as a priest of creation. It also requires a different interpretation of the original fall of man. How can the realization of the model of man as the priest of creation liberate creation from its limitations and lead it to survival? What are the implications of man's priestly function toward creation? The ecological crisis is a cultural crisis connected with the loss of the sacredness of nature. Christianity treats the world as sacred because it persists in a dialectical relation to God, but the rupture of communion with God leads to its annihilation. If we want to save the world and not return to paganism, the Christian approach is the only way to solve the ecological crisis and ensure the survival of creation by including it in the eternal life of God.

Opis:
A content analysis of the E. Orzeszkowa’s Positivist novel Nad Niemnem [On the Niemen] makes it possible to indicate a number of different mother-types featured in the book and created by its author, namely: the Polish Mother, the caring cat mother, the cuckoo-type mother, the mother in absentia and the willow mother. The type of the Polish Mother (an ideal of patriotic motherhood, Polish: Matka Polka, the Polish Mother was the secular equivalent of the Holy Mother) is epitomized in Maria Kirłowa, earnestly and wisely devoted to her children. She runs and manages the household single-handedly, is a guardian of the home, and all alone raises her children and prepares them to live in the society of the latter half of the nineteenth century. Another mother, Andrzejowa Korczyńska, a proud Polish patriot, makes a rather monumental figure. Living a life full of ideals and rich promises, this widow seems to provide a model of proper motherhood to be followed, but, being alienated in thefamily and her social environment, is eventually a failure and she fails in life. Her son takes advantage of her, knowing that she is ready to do everything for him no matter what happens, like a cat-mother. The mother-cuckoo is represented by Starzyńska, who chooses her personal interests over the importance of family and her children, Janek and Antolka, and lets somebody else raise them. The reason behind her behavior is the need for remarrying, apparently stronger than her maternal feelings. The mother in absentia, i.e. one that is virtually non-existent in the process of the education and development of her children, is self-concentrated and self-obsessed Emilia. In this particular case, the role of Witold and Leonia’s mother is taken over by Marta, who – like a willow-mother – raises them, feeds them, educates, consoles and pampers them, not forgetting, however, about being a demanding and controlling guardian. Most of all, however, she is always there and is always ready to assist them. The novel, set in the complicated reality of the challenging second half of the nineteenth century, is a moving reminder how restrictive women’s standing was and how this situation influenced the woman’s family duties as well. These responsibilities were viewed and executed by contemporary mothers differently and had a different meaning for them, which is very eloquently presented in Eliza Orzeszkowa’s realistic novel.

The article consists of two parts: the first one includes the introduction to art therapy theory, the second one indicates the possibilities of its application in youth education. Agata Kiwacka and Joanna Letkiewicz‑Zamora - with over 20 years of experience in teaching the Polish language, they both work in integration classes in the Middle School No. 1 with Integration Departments in Bytom. They are also special educators in typhlopedagogy and art therapy. They have been using elements of art therapy during Polish classes. They want to expand their work, so they wrote their own programme, which was deployed in the integration classes in the middle school. They share their experiences from the past four years. They are continuously improving, so that the work they have taken on, would continue to give even more to the young people. They help the pupils get to know and accept themselves. They want the pupils to be aware of their worth, open-minded, and creative. So that in the future, they can become “different people.” This change in the young people is happening right in front of their eyes.

The article surveys recent scholarship on the use of creation imagery in the Gospel of John, with the aim of presenting a rather exhaustive register of possible references. Both the obvious and the less clear-cut allusions to Gen 1–3 are discussed, the main focus being to accumulate and assess the evidence (for or against) all the apparent references to creation imagery. Included in this examination are several unconvincing and even far-fetched proposals advanced by some modern scholars, in order to give the fullest possible picture of the current discourse on these issues. After discussing the creation theme in the Prologue (1:1–18), the article explores the presence of creation imagery in the Book of Signs (1:19–12:50) and the Book of Glory (13:1–21:25).

This article is an attempt at showing reflection of Christian East concerning nature, earth and the world as a manifestation of Gods creative Will. The world according to this science is not an ordinary emanation of a Deity or an arranging of the former existing matter by some creator, as Greek philosophers claimed. The world appears to be something brand new, created “out of nothing” (ex nihilo). It is wanted and loved by God. God expresses Himself by the world and gives to all the beings which we can see only as material ones a deep sense and spiritual meaning as well. God, through the world, expresses Himself in a way understandable for a human being. Consequently, human being has got a special task; he should discover this sense and this meaning present in the beings created, so as to make communication between him and God possible. Human being, as “a priest and a guardian of the Universe” owing to spiritual sight, owing to spiritual “fire eyes” penetrating the depth of creatures and things, has to discover and show this meaning. The sense, the meaning (logoi) of all that exists has got its own foundation and fulfilment only in the Supreme Divine Logos.

In Book X of his Confessions, Augustine calls God Pulchritudo, “Beauty”. This “Beauty” is invoked at a point in his book where we move from biographical elements to a series of philosophical and theological treatises on Creation and Time. Creatures possess beauty, only the Creator is beauty in himself, free of disharmony, and only He can grant access to His beauty. This irruption of Pulchritudo lighting up his memoirs gives Augustine’s life a new meaning. This is where he confesses his transgressions, through hymns of praise, and eventually through a life marked by the longing to eventually meet Beauty. There is great melancholy in the Confessions which the hymn to Pulchritudo gives both the tone and the key to understanding to.

Opis:
John Paul II developed a very profound and mystical teaching on redemption, mainly paschal one. Jesus Christ is man's only Redeemer: Redemptor hominis, and through man as the center of all creation He is also the Redeemer of the world: Redemptor mundi. Redemption in its essence is reconciliation of the human person with the Person of God the Father and with the whole Holy Trinity. Redemption on earth is incarnated in Jesus Christ, that is redemption is Jesus Christ, God – Man. It has the character of a personal tie between God's Love and Charity and a loving response from man. Through Love in redemption God creates man anew, so that redemption is in a sense an act of new creation. Owing to this the redeemed man finds his essence in Christ and is fulfilled in Christ in a supreme way. Redemption gives us freedom owing to the revelation of Truth.

Prezentowany artykuł dotyczy analizy koncepcji rozwoju własnej osoby dokonanej przez Marię Dudzikową (1985) oraz jej autorskiego opracowania problematyki kompetencji autokreacyjnych (Dudzikowa, 1993, 1994, 2007). Mechanizm autokreacji zakłada, iż człowiek jest kreatorem siebie samego, a przestrzeń autokreacji stanowi nowy sposób doświadczania świata i własnego w nim miejsca.
The presented article concerns the analysis of the concept of self-development by Maria Dudzikowa (1985) and her own work on self-creation competence (Dudzikowa, 1993, 1994, 2007). The mechanism of self-creation presupposes that man is the creator of himself and the space of self-creation is a new way of experiencing the world and his own place in it. The study analyzes the conditions of the process of self-creation and the structure of the self-creation process as well as the participation of transgressive behavior in it. According to the concept of Józef Kozielecki (1985, 1987, 2001, 2007), the mechanism of creating the Self can be implemented through transgressive activities called autotransgression, self-development or personality creation according to own design. Transgression is associated with the implementation of projected visions of reality, potential states of affairs and the concept of the Self. In the final part of the article, the possibilities of self-development competence development in the education (including academic) process, understood as liberating, emancipating and development-friendly, were assessed.

One of the main emphases is placed on the interaction between the author’s sense of subjectivity with the idea generated and developed by him, as well as on how the reader senses this interaction. These findings became the basis for adopting assumptions about individual and disciplinary differences in strategy and the intensity of the subjectivization of scientific texts by creators and recipients. The article was prepared in a performative and dialogical formula.

Language creation of hell and heaven in this story is showing it stereotypically. Heaven is a place where God and other peaceful creatures live (also souls of people that lived well on Earth). Hell is a dark abyss, where the fire of hell (which is not shining) is the main source of pain for the condemned. A human being which got into hell will never get out. It is out of God’s forgiveness range. The image of those two places in the Tragedy serves mainly the persuasion which is closely connected with the genre of the morality. Language creation of hell and heaven in the Tragedy was written by uncomplicated linguistic means.

There is some debate among interpreters of Aquinas as to whether he attributed a doctrine of creation to Plato and Aristotle. Mark Johnson has noted many texts where Aquinas does appear to attribute to Plato and Aristotle an understanding of creation. Yet, an initial glance at Summa Theologiae I.44.2 would suggest he did not. This paper first examines what various interpreters of Aquinas have had to say on the matter. Secondly, it argues that Summa Theologiae I.44.2, taken in context with the proceeding article and De Potentia III.5, need not be read as denying such a doctrine to Plato and Aristotle. Thirdly, this paper concludes that because Plato and Aristotle do not actually possess doctrines of creation, they cannot be the chief sources for Aquinas’ own thought on this matter. Instead, to attribute creation to Plato and Aristotle, Aquinas interprets them through Avicenna. Thus, Avicenna is the chief source for Aquinas’ understanding of creation.

self-creation
Opis:
The author of the article, inspired by Dariusz Nowacki’s review, proposes a thesis opposite to that of the famous critic, who calls Szczepan Twardoch’s and Jacek Dehnel’s diaries “a show-off of avatars.” In defence of Twardoch’s book, Wieloryby i ćmy [Whales and moths] the author decides to concentrate on its ideological and literary values. Most importantly, he strives to prove that the diaries constitute an original and innovative attempt at developing a genre of intimate diaries and have a multifaceted interpretive potential. The author of Morfina [Morphine] expresses in his diaries a desire for “directing a great life,” understood as a consistent creation of literary works as well as a life imitating literature. The analyses and commentaries included in the article focus on the oppositions and hypostases found in the text, for example, of the world and provincial, history and life, literature and nothingness, settlement and foreignness, life and death, presence and absence, life according to spirit and life according to body, responsibility and its lack.

Opis:
One of the important causes of the ecological crisis is the egoistic mentality of contemporary people and the lack of respect for the natural order and immanent purpose of the creation. In order to shape a new pro-ecological consciousness a new concept of man and his relations with the environment is needed. One of the proposals is Catholic anthropology, whose ecological foundations were indicated by Pope Francis in his Encyclical Laudato si’. It is a proposal to describe man applying religious concepts, but also including the up-to-date knowledge about man and the environment. It is a concept open to dialogue, the aim of which should be the development of a pro-ecological lifestyle for contemporary people. Catholic anthropology postulates to combine “external” ecology with “moral” ecology, which can help modern man not only to have control over nature, but also to become its defender through small, everyday activities. In ecologically oriented anthropology, the created world is treated as a common home, and Pope Francis calls it our sister, with whom we share existence, and a beautiful mother, who takes us in her arms.

Opis:
At the beginning, the author presents some basic intuitions determining the necessity for philosopher’s reflections on not only numerical singularity, but also individuality. Then he considers briefly four selected types of individuality, namely: anything existing, the universe, a person and the Absolute. Nevertheless, for different reasons, in each of these cases it is possible to assume an impossible to fully express entity, that is, individuality. The next part develops the idea of a person’s individuality which stays directly linked with his or her permanent act of self-creation. The essence of the act would lie in a radical distinction between the person and any other human being as well as in generating the own, absolute personal otherness. At more accurate, largely speculative characteristics of this act it turns out to be necessary to redefine such categories like duty, responsibility, trust.

In the article there was represented the example of a project concerning dehydration of agricultural lands located in Rzozów in the area of Skawina commune, administrative district of Kraków in Małopolska, around 16 km long distant to the west – south from the city centre of Kraków. The analised land is being under the disadvantageous hydro and air conditions, what results in the signifi cant decrease of grounds quality and plants crops as the consequence. In order to improve the quality of grounds and dehydrate the excess of water, there was designed a dehydration system consisted of open drainage ditches and underground drainage network. The aim of those operations is to improve the ground structure quality and it’s access to air, thus to increase the plants crops from the presented area. There were lead numerous calculations such as hydrological calculations, hydraulic calculations in order to define type and height of drainage ditches consolidation and the height of collector mouths over the ditch bottom, calculations of drains spacing and the excavation capacity. As the final effect, it was assumed to excavate two drainage ditches, one on the northern side and one on the southern side of the area. The network of drains and collector connected to the ditches is to drain off the spare water from the considered land.

Economic growth is a process of long-term transformation shaped by complex interactions between technology, economy, institutions and social factors. A considerable number of studies have shown that among these factors technological advancement and particularly new knowledge generation capabilities may be one of the most important determinants of economic growth and development. Significant disparities in development levels can be observed between Polish regions. The aim of this paper is to look for the sources of these disparities in regional capacity for new knowledge creation. The research method adopted in this paper is based on statistical analysis of the relationship between variables describing new knowledge generation capabilities and GDP per capita in two periods: 2003–2004 and 2012–2013 in 16 Polish regions. Correlation and regression analysis results show that there is a strong positive relationship between regional differences in new knowledge generation capabilities and variations in GDP per capita. The relationship is very strong when one considers three aspects of these capabilities: R&D employment and R&D expenditures denoting inputs to the new knowledge generation process and patenting activity representing its output. These results may serve as an indication for innovation policy at regional level.

The observations of the current practices and the analysis of the published research findings have unveiled the ongoing change in the area of social services delivery in XXI. There is significant necessity of the public sector modification to become more open, accessible, flexible and with a greater focus on cooperation and fulfilment of the real needs of the society. The requisite change has been presented, inter alia, by the latest report of the European Commission which underlines four ways of the imple- mentation of social innovation: Co-design and co-creation, new models of cooperation and social services delivery, usage of social media, big data and entrepreneurial attitude and ability to experiment. The co-design stimulation is considered to be a good approach for the social services delivery effectiveness improvement and moreover, it is one of the proper methods of enhancing the connection between public sector and society.

Opis:
Detention in a prison is the isolation of an individual from society, placing him in an isolated space, where the punishment is not only the lack of contact with family or loved ones, but also being with other - often not easy in coexistence - prisoners. The reduced level of external stimuli makes internal life (experiences, emotions) a priority. Undertaking any creative activity reduces a prisoner’s concentration on the matter of isolation and any health problems and issues: real or imaginary. This process counteracts chaos and contributes to a gradual stabilization of the emotional system. Creative activity, by strengthening emotional stability, helps the regaining of balance and influences the prisoner’s adaptation to the life situation in which he finds himself. The initiation of creative activity by prisoners promotes the reintegration of the individual and social (here including cultural) self. The first part of this article will explain why introducing the arts is not only desirable, but natural given the setting, and inmates’ propensity for creative expression. The next part will present the examples of unstructured and structured programs developed for the creative revalidation of prisoners. Studies have revealed that undertaking creative activity on the part of prisoners plays an important role in the proces of revalidation. At the same time, analysis of works of art produced by prisoners gives an insight into the neuropsychological mechanisms of creation and provides important information for planning therapeutic programs.

Opis:
The goal of the monograph was to: • show sample spheres of functioning and cooperation of institutions acting for rural development and principles of developing processes and procedures for organizing or modernizing information and knowledge as well as define adequate inventive methods for generating ideas, • elaborate on principles and rules of the methodology for generating ideas in the construction of options for solving problems, formulating criteria and conducting the evaluation of solution variants, selecting the optimal variant and implementing the chosen variant as the final result of the study, • distinguish the sample thematic areas of knowledge management in rural areas and define adequate methods of creativity and innovation, with pointing out the stages of appropriate methodologies and methods applied. The presentation of the typology and characteristics of inventive methods for generating solutions and creating knowledge, in the context of methodologies to improve organization of rural areas, which strengthen their competitiveness and innovation based on the principles of sustainable development, was assumed as the main research problem requiring a solution. Problems and methods for generating solutions were defined in conjunction with the study entitled “Organizational standards and rural development in the context of information and knowledge management” (Krakowiak-Bal, Wdowiak, Ziemiańczyk 2017 – subsection 3.3), and the issue of knowledge creation and corresponding methods with the study entitled “Knowledge management in rural development” (Krakowiak-Bal, Łukasik, Mikuła, Pietruszka-Ortyl, Ziemiańczyk 2017). These connections in the case of the aforementioned studies consisted in: • emphasizing the possibilities of applying heuristic methods in generating ideas of solutions presented in Chapter 2 and 3 of this monograph together with the methodologies and Anglo-Saxon methods of improving the organization, including rural areas, presented in the aforementioned Subchapter 3.3, and • emphasizing also the possibilities of applying the heuristic Japanese methods of continuous improvement in knowledge creation, presented in Chapter 4 of this monograph in conjunction with the Japanese methods of continuous improvement of the organization, presented in the aforementioned Subchapter 3.3, in the context of the second study cited above. Solutions generation is a fundamental element of the process of improving the organization, including the organization of rural areas, presented in the monograph. This activity is carried out through the following groups of activities: preparation and definition of a project problem, creation of solution variants and setting evaluation criteria, evaluating options and developing the best solution. Taking into account the review and defined research methodologies (Krakowiak-Bal, Wdowiak, Ziemiańczyk 2017, pp. 118-136), their stages in which solutions are generated can be pointed out. And so in: • the descriptive and improvement approach the stage was described as ‘the critical analysis and evaluation of the empirical material accumulated in the course of observation’, • the functional modeling approach the stage was expressed as ‘the analysis of the latest, model solutions’, • the diagnostic functional approach the stage was defined as ‘a method of idealization in finding optimal solutions’, • the general outline of the above approaches in view of J. Trzcieniecki – in the phase of ‘analysis and assessment of improvements’, • the classical methodology as ‘preparation of conditions and costs’, • the diagnostic methodology as ‘analysis and synthesis’, • the prognostic methodology as ‘building a reference system’ (in the context of purpose, entry, exit, course of organization process, environment, set of system elements), • the study of methods of work as ‘critical analysis and assessment of the facts’, • the analysis of values according to W. Biliński as ‘reflections – creative discussion” and “selection of the optimal solution’, • the analysis of values according to Z. Martyniak as ‘analysis of functions and searching for new solutions’, • the methodology of spatial organization of work as ‘analysis of solution variants’. Basic processes with the application of knowledge, also in rural areas, i.e. operational knowledge management tasks include (Krakowiak-Bal, Łukasik, Mikuła, Pietruszka-Ortyl, Ziemiańczyk 2017, p. 68 et seq.): • identification (localization of knowledge), • transfer (acquiring, disclosing, disseminating knowledge and sharing knowledge), • gathering (systematic collection of knowledge and its codification), • selection of sets of knowledge, • new knowledge creation, • combining sets of knowledge, • saving, or registration of knowledge in a codified form, • storage of knowledge carriers, • assessing the usefulness of knowledge, • applying knowledge (creating visions and concepts of action, solving problems and performing current tasks). Knowledge creation consists in the appropriate selection and use of the specificity of selected methods in knowledge management. This specificity concerns the Japanese methods of so-called continuous improvement in knowledge creation, presented in Chapter 4 of this monograph. The detailed layout of the study presented below was conditioned not only by the assumed aims of the elaboration, but also by the specificity of Anglo-Saxon epistemology, also referred to as the Western or the Japanese epistemology. The mainstay for the notion of knowledge in the western perspective, formulated on the basis of philosophy as ‘justified and true belief’, is the Plato’s idea stating that ‘absolute truth can be derived from rational reasoning based on certain axioms’. This was the cause of criticism by Aristotle who emphasized the pivotal role of sensual perception in this regard. However, the following issues contributed to the success of Plato’s approach (Nonaka, Takeuchi 2000): • Descartes’ rationalism, allowing skepticism with the conviction ‘I think; therefore I am’, • Locke’s empiricism, emphasizing experience as a source of ideas, dividing them into perceptions and reflections, • combination of empiricism with rationalism and Kant’s statement that not all knowledge results from experience, • the Hegelian dialectical unity of opposites, • introduction of interaction between the cognizer and the cognizing person as well as the relationship between man and the environment in Marx’s view, • linking knowledge strictly to Heidegger’s action, rejecting completely the thinking subject in the concept of Descartes, • pragmatism and the statement that ‘only the effective idea is true’, because ideas are devoid of values if they do not go into action, propagated by James. In turn, the Bacon’s concept of operational knowledge which emphasizes social effects and comprises the essence of civilization progress is the foundation of the organizational concept of knowledge in Japanese terms, formulated by I. Nonaka and H. Takeuchi (2000), exposing “the ability of the corporation as a whole to generate new knowledge, its dissemination and embodiment in products, services and systems”. These two perceptions of knowledge, the Anglo-Saxon and the Japanese, form the basis for differentiating in the study two different theoretical approach-es and practical applications of methods for generating solutions (Chapter 2 and 3) and for knowledge creation (Chapter 4). Chapter 1 of the study, consisting of three subchapters, is the background for reflection, emphasizing the role of heuristics, hermeneutics and semiology in the process of building a set of rules for creative thinking and presentation of solutions. The systems of thinking, heuristic and cognitive biases defined by D. Kahneman are the essence of this chapter. The considerations are complemented by hermeneutic analysis and exegesis, the indicated types of heuristics and their characteristics as well as the semiological aspects. Chapter 2, containing three subsequent subchapters, presents the characteristics and typology of selected inventive methods in the context of the basic concepts and evolution of methods. The criteria for division and typologies of the inventive methods precede the characteristics of selected inventive principles and solutions. The possibilities and principles of applying inventive methods are presented in Chapter 3. First, rural areas as the subject of the study are presented (Subchapter 3.1). In the subsequent subchapters theoretical foundations of the theory of creative thinking and knowledge creation (Subchapter 3.2) as well as the methodology of knowledge creation and creatics as the basic research tool (Subchapter 3.3) are discussed. Subchapter 3.4 presents the IDEAL model as the method for formulating decision problems. Inventive methods in organizational design are discussed in Subchapter 3.5 whereas the assumptions of the industrial inventics and the algorithm for inventive problems solving are described in Subchapter 3.6. Subchapter 3.7 concerning the methodology for generating solutions with the indication of inventive methods finalizes the chapter. Chapter 4 deals with corporate models of knowledge organization and methods of knowledge creation. The first group includes and defines the SECI spiral, the OPEC spiral and the DCCV spiral as well as the Gilbert, Probst, Raub and Romhardt’s model. The second one includes: the EDIS spiral of debate in the aspect of the double debate principle (4.2.1.), the Experimental EEIS spiral in the context of verification (4.2.2.), the Hermeneutical EAIR spiral in the context of reflection (4.2.3.), the Triple Helix spiral of knowledge creation processes (4.2.4), the ARME spiral of revolutionary knowledge creation (4.2.5.), the Knowledge Pentagram of Nakamori in the i-System approach (4.2.6.), the Nanadsudaki Septagram of seven spirals of knowledge creation (4.2.7) and the Creative Space model (4.2.8.). In the future, the thematic scope of the study should be enriched with further methods of creative thinking in management, knowledge creation and organization methods as well as considerations regarding models for intellectual resource management in rural organizations. The authors hope that the work will contribute to the dissemination of the inventive methods for generating solutions as well as knowledge creation and organization methods among employees of institutions co-contributing to rural development. It can also become a source of information and a textbook for learning about these methods for students at environmental and agricultural universities. Moreover, it might be a contribution to scientific research in this field.
