Opis:
This is a study of the effects of temperature of injection mold on the injection molded article. By supplying water of the proper temperature in the cooling line of mold in the cooling process, the mold was the appropriate temperature, and the deformation of the injection molded article was examined according to the mold temperature. In this study, we conducted simulation analysis and experiments, and the results were analyzed. The minimum deformation of the injection molded article model obtained by supplying 50°C water in the cooling line is 0.003 mm, and the maximum deformation was 0.813 mm. Injection molded article models obtained by supplying 20°C water were found to be a minimum of 0.002 mm, with deformation of up to 0.761 mm. When comparing both conditions, the error rate of injection molded article obtained by supplying 20°C water in the mold cooling line was lower by about 0.18%.

Opis:
Although PWR reactors make up the large majority of the world's nuclear power plants, BWR reactors also have a share in this industry. It is difficult to find data on the performance of a BWR power plant in off-design and variable load conditions in the literature. Therefore, the paper presents how cooling water temperature affects the efficiency and power output of a BWR unit. The qualitative effect of changes and the trend related to the effect of cooling water temperature on the performance of the power plant are known, but the quantitative effect has to be determined for specific power units. Depending on the location of the nuclear power plant, various temperatures of cooling water for use in condensers and thus various operating conditions of the cooling system can be achieved. To analyze how cooling water temperature affects the performance of the power unit, a model of a BWR power plant was developed using the Ebsilon software. The model was based on data provided in [1] concerning LaSalle County Nuclear Generating Station. Calculations showed that within the examined range of cooling water temperatures at the condenser inlet between 10 and 28oC the gross power output of the unit decreases by 91.405 MW and the gross efficiency drops by 2.773 percentage points.

Opis:
The number of vehicles in the world is growing rapidly. Therefore, the global consumption of crude oil is increasing and its natural resources are being depleted. It causes the rise of oil fuel cost. Constantly rising energy prices and emironmental concerns have made energy saving the highest priority for transportation operators. The main goal of vehicles' operation is economy. The fuel consumption of the most popular internal combustion engines depends on various factors, and one of the most important of them is thermal condition. Energy or fuel saving is the main way to reduce operational expenses of vehicles. This paper aims to investigate fuel consumption of 1.9 liter volume direct injection diesel engine and to construct a diagram of the dependence of the amount of smoke in exhaust on the temperature of engine's operation. The temperature was fixed in the engine's crankcase, while the temperature of cooling liquid was measured at four points as well as during the engine's bench testing. Unexpected test results are obtained: when the temperature of exhaust gases rises above 70-75 °C, the amount of smoke increases by a few times. Finally, basic conclusions and recommendations are given.

Opis:
In this article has been found that the most popular and widely used method of cooling is liquid cooling, which ensures uniformity of temperature around the combustion chamber and easy acquisition and transfer of heat, although the properties of water are limited by maximum temperature of the coolant. Preliminary scientific research of such a system indicates the possibility of increasing overall efficiency and reducing toxic components in exhaust gases at low engine loads when the engine exhaust temperature of the classic system is too low for efficient catalytic action. This paper presents the dynamometer test stand designed and built using original components of diesel engine 4CT90 production of WSW "ANDORIA" SA. Presented system was designed for the four cylinder with indirect fuel injection system. Research was made on the engine dynamometer stand, which was equipped with standard measure devices (measures: speed, torque, temperatures, flows) and exhaust gas analysers. The temperature of this liquid was increased to the higher level than temperature of boiling water in normal conditions. Overpressure inside the cooling system was limited to 0.3 MPa, the temperature inside the cooling system was increased to 115–120°C. During the test, the cooling system was filled with coolant at 90%. The selected results of investigations of the cooling system for the combustion engine working with higher temperature of the cooling liquid, where the influence of speed and load on the engine temperature were presented.

Opis:
Complexity of grinding process and phenomena entailing it not always allow reaching required technological results, especially while machining surfaces of parts made of tough-to-machine steels, which are liable to crack propagation. Cracks can occur in these parts during grinding due to considerable temperature difference along the section, which can cause formation of high temporary internal tensile stress. Application of cooled air in grinding process exerts considerable influence over temperature decrease in cutting area. In addition, it depends not only on heat exchange, but also on properties of cold air flow. The greatest effect of temperature decrease can be reached by injection of cold air flow in cutting area with implementation of vortex effect, which occurs in swirl flow of compressed air originating in vortex tube. The study of heat generation during machining by tools with discontinuous cutting surface and vortex air cooling was carried out. Obtained thermophysical parameters of vortex air cooling (increase in speed of stream flowing, expansion degree, share of cold stream and decrease in humidity of air stream) allow reducing heat density due to growth of cooling effect in grinding zone. On the base of experimental studies we developed recommendations for choice of optimal grinding modes by tool with discontinuous cutting surface and vortex air cooling of flat parts made of steels being liable to cracking.

Opis:
The electrical performance and the productivity of PV module depend on two main parameters, i.e. the radiation intensity and the cell operating temperature. The module electrical efficiency and productivity are significantly reduced as its temperature increases. Accordingly, cooling of PV modules is one of the most effective techniques to obtain higher efficiency and productivity as well as to reduce the degradation modes of PV modules due to high temperatures. This research work presents an experimental study carried out to investigate the effect of PV module cooling on the performance of PV module under Irbid city (Jordan) climate conditions. It was found that the electrical efficiency and the productivity of the PV modules were approximately enhanced by 14%. Therefore, water cooling of the PV modules is essential to enhance their performance.

The selected results of investigations of the cooling system for the combustion engine working with higher temperature of the cooling liquid were presented. The temperature of this liquid were increased to the temperature of boiling water, as a basic compound of the cooling liquid. This system was designed for the four cylinder diesel engine 4CT90 with indirect fuel injection system. Investigation was realized on the dynamometer stand equipped with standard measure devices (measures: speed, torque, temperatures, flows) and exhaust gas analyzers. The speed and torque engine characteristics were determined. The over pressure inside cooling system was limited up to 0.07 MPa regarding lower pressure structural integrity of the standard units of this system. Intensity of the cooling, protective against too higher pressure, were changed by switching small and full liquid circulation, and one or two fans of the cooler. temperature inside cooling system was increased up to 110 centigrade. Results ofincreasing of the cooler temperature were lower frictions of unburned products of combustion process (CO and HC) in the exhaust gas (up to 50%) in low torque and low engine speed. This is area when catalytic reactor does not work because too low is exhaust gas temperature. It wasfound that engine economy was increased to 7% in maocimum load and high engine speed.

Opis:
Emulsion explosives modified by the addition of cooling salts have been investigated. Sodium chloride and ammonium chloride were added as cooling agents. The research was carried out to develop emulsion explosives that can be applied in the coal mining industry. The particular requirements for the considered explosives must ensure a low hazard degree when used in the presence of coal dust and/or methane. Experimental determination of the detonation velocity confirmed that the satisfactory performance of the investigated emulsion explosives, modified by the addition of these cooling salts, was preserved. In all of the investigated samples, the detonation velocity was about 4500 m/s, with salt contents of about 10-15%. In order to explore the thermodynamic characteristics of the investigated explosives, the chemical composition as well as the state parameters of the detonation and explosion products were evaluated. In these analyses, the cooling additives were allowed to become involved in chemical reactions during the attainment of thermodynamic equilibrium in the reacting mixture. The results obtained show reciprocal relations between the partial loss of explosive performance (diminution in explosion energy and lowering of the amount of products in the gaseous phase) and the desired reduction in temperature of the explosion products.

Opis:
In the paper a model test stand designed and built using original components of diesel engine 4CT90 is presented. The stand provides working conditions as close as possible to the exploitation conditions of the engine cooling system. This applies both to the intensity of heat inside the cylinders of the engine, the temperature uniformity along the cylinder axis, as well as variable-speed water pump. Research carried out on the model stand were aimed at checking the operation of the cooling intensity control with varying levels of filling of the cooling system and develop a control method of the cooling system before testing on the dynamometer stand. In addition, system operation at elevated cooling liquid pressure for the possibility of obtaining the elevated coolant temperature were checked. The influence of working conditions on the level of the temperature was also analysed. In this paper, the characteristics selected for two values of pressure, for 0.15 MPa and 0.2 MPa, and for two different values of the degree of filling of the cooling liquid were presented. During the warming-up and continuous heating of the cylinder and the cylinder head by electrical heaters, temperature and overpressure courses before and after the liquid radiator, temperature before the inlet and outlet of the liquid from the engine and the temperature at selected points inside the engine water jacket are designated. The results of measurements of the coolant pump flow at different speed water pump were also presented in this paper.
