Opis:
The disadvantages of the conventional model predictive current control method for the grid-connected converter (GCC) with an inductance-capacitance-inductance (LCL) filter are a large amount of calculation and poor parameter robustness. Once parameters of the model are mismatched, the control accuracy of model predictive control (MPC) will be reduced, which will seriously affect the power quality of the GCC. The article intuitively analyzes the sensitivity of parameter mismatch on the current predictive control of the conventional LCL-filtered GCC. In order to solve these issues, a model-free predictive current control (MFPCC) method for the LCL-filtered GCC is proposed in this paper. The contribution of this work is that a novel current predictive robust controller for the LCL-filtered GCC is designed based on the principle of the ultra-local model of a single input single output system. The proposed control method does not require using any model parameters in the controller, which can effectively suppress the disturbances of the uncertain parameter variations. Compared with conventional MPC, the proposed MFPCC has smaller current total harmonic distortion (THD). When the filter parameters are mismatched, the control error of the proposed method is smaller. Finally, a comparative experimental study is carried out on the platform of Typhoon and PE-Expert4 to verify the superiority and effectiveness of the proposed MFPCC method for the LCL-filtered GCC.

This paper proposes a fault tolerant control scheme based on an unknown input observer for a wind turbine system subject to an actuator fault and disturbance. Firstly, an unknown input observer for state estimation and fault detection using a linear parameter varying model is developed. By solving linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) and linear matrix equalities (LMEs), the gains of the unknown input observer are obtained. The convergence of the unknown input observer is also analysed with Lyapunov theory. Secondly, using fault estimation, an active fault tolerant controller is applied to a wind turbine system. Finally, a simulation of a wind turbine benchmark with an actuator fault is tested for the proposed method. The simulation results indicate that the proposed FTC scheme is efficient.

The problem of estimating unknown input effects in control systems based on the methods of the theory of optimal dynamic filtering and the principle of expansion of mathematical models is considered. Equations of dynamics and observations of an extended dynamical system are obtained. Algorithms for estimating input signals based on regularization and singular expansion methods are given. The above estimation algorithms provide a certain roughness of the filter parameters to various violations of the conditions of model problems, i.e. are not very sensitive to changes in the a priori data.

The paper deals with the estimation problem of model parameter values, in tasks where overestimation implies results other than underestimation, and wliere losses arising from this can be described by a quadratic function with different coefficients characterizing positive and negative errors. In the approach presented, the Bayes decision rule was used, allowing for minimizing potential losses. Calculation algorithms were based on the theory of statistical kernel estimators, which frees the method from distribution type. The result constitutes a complete numerical procedure enabling effective calculation of the value of an identified parameter or - in the multidimensional case - the vector of parameters. The method is aimed at both of the main contemporary approaches to uncertainty modeling: probabilistic and fuzzy logic. It is universal in nature and can be applied in a wide range of tasks of engineering, economy, sociology, biomedicine and other related fields.

Opis:
In this paper, control-oriented modeling approaches are presented for distributed parameter systems. These systems, which are in the focus of this contribution, are assumed to be described by suitable partial differential equations. They arise naturally during the modeling of dynamic heat transfer processes. The presented approaches aim at developing finite-dimensional system descriptions for the design of various open-loop, closed-loop, and optimal control strategies as well as state, disturbance, and parameter estimation techniques. Here, the modeling is based on the method of integrodifferential relations, which can be employed to determine accurate, finite-dimensional sets of state equations by using projection techniques. These lead to a finite element representation of the distributed parameter system. Where applicable, these finite element models are combined with finite volume representations to describe storage variables that are—with good accuracy—homogeneous over sufficiently large space domains. The advantage of this combination is keeping the computational complexity as low as possible. Under these prerequisites, real-time applicable control algorithms are derived and validated via simulation and experiment for a laboratory-scale heat transfer system at the Chair of Mechatronics at the University of Rostock. This benchmark system consists of a metallic rod that is equipped with a finite number of Peltier elements which are used either as distributed control inputs, allowing active cooling and heating, or as spatially distributed disturbance inputs.

First, we consider non-linear discrete-time and continuous-time systems with unknown inputs. The problem of reconstructing an input using the information given by an output equation is investigated. Then we examine a control problem for non-linear discrete-time hereditary systems, i.e. the problem of finding a control which drives the state of the system from its initial value to a given desired final state. The methods used to solve these problems are based on the state-space technique and fixed-point theorems. To illustrate the outlined ideas, various numerical simulation results are presented.

Jednym z podstawowych zadań układów regulacji procesów wzbogacania węgla jest stabilizacja parametrów jakościowych na zadanym poziomie. Sterowanie procesów technologicznych wzbogacania węgla odbywa się w obecności szeregu zakłóceń. Zatem istotnym problemem jest wybór regulatora odpornego na różnorodne zakłócenia. Regulatory PI oraz PID są stosowane w wielu procesach przemysłowych. Szerokie zastosowanie tych regulatorów wynika z wielu zalet, którymi się charakteryzują. Najważniejsze z nich to dobre właściwości kompensacji zakłóceń występujących w procesach przemysłowych oraz prosta budowa tych regulatorów (a zatem łatwa implementacja). Wybór struktury PI albo PID regulatora zależy od właściwości dynamicznych sterowanego procesu, zakłóceń oddziałujących na ten proces oraz wymagań stawianych układowi regulacji. Ze względu na szereg zakłóceń występujących w procesach przeróbczych węgla stosowanie członu różniczkującego regulatora PID powinno być ograniczone, na przykład do stabilizacji wybranych parametrów w sterowaniu lokalnym. Celowym rozwiązaniem wydaje się zastosowanie struktury PI regulatora w układzie regulacji. Nie mniej ważnym zagadnieniem w regulacji procesu jest dobór nastaw regulatora. W wielu metodach doboru nastaw regulatora wykorzystuje się charakterystyki dynamiczne sterowanego procesu (model dynamiczny obiektu sterowania). Opis właściwości dynamicznych procesu za pomocą modelu matematycznego jest pomocny przy projektowaniu układu sterowania. Różne procesy charakteryzujące się takimi samymi właściwościami dynamicznymi można opisać modelem dynamicznym o takiej samej strukturze, różniącym się tylko wartościami parametrów. Takie podejście daje możliwość zastosowania tego samego typu regulatora w układach regulacji różnych procesów przemysłowych. Odnosi się to także do wielu procesów wzbogacania węgla. [...]
One of the main tasks of control systems of coal enrichment process is the stabilization of coal quality parameters at a desired level. The control of coal enrichment processes is carried out in the presence of a number of disturbances. Therefore, a serious problem is the controller selecting which is robust to different disturbances. Controllers PI (proportional-plus-integral) and PID (proportional-plus-integral-plus-derivative) are used in many industrial processes. Extensive uses of PID controllers is results from a number of advantages that characterizes. The most important of them is good compensation of disturbances occurring in industrial processes and simple design of these controllers (therefore easy to implement). Selection of PI or PID controller structure depends on the dynamic properties of the controlled process and disturbances influencing to the process and the requirements for the control system. Due to a number of disturbances occurring in the coal preparation processes the application of a derivative element should be limited, for example, to stabilize the selected parameters in local control. The better solution seems to use the structure of PI controller in the control system. No less important problem in the control of the process is the tuning of the controller parameters. Many methods of tuning of the controller parameters uses the dynamic characteristics of the controlled process (dynamic model of the process). The description of the dynamic properties of the process by means of a mathematical model it is helpfully in the design of the control system. Different processes with the same dynamic properties can be described by a dynamic model of the same structure, differing only parameters values. Such approach makes it possible to use the same type of controller in control of various industrial processes. This is also relates for many coal enrichment processes. [...]

There are many industrial environments which are exposed to a high-level noise. It is necessary to protect people from the noise. Most of the time, the consumer requires a miniature version of a noise canceller to satisfy the internal working place requirements. Very important thing is to select the most appropriate personal hearing protection device, for example an earplug. It should guarantee high passive noise attenuation and allow for secondary sound generation in case of active control. In many cases the noise is nonstationary. For instance, some of the noisy devices are switched on and off, speed of some rotors or fans changes, etc. To avoid any severe transient acoustic effects due to potential convergence problems of adaptive systems, a fixed-parameter approach to control is appreciated. If the noise were stationary, it would be possible to design an optimal control filter minimising variance of the signal being the effect of the acoustic noise and the secondary sound interference. Because of noise nonstationarity for most applications, the idea of generalised disturbance defined by a frequency window of different types has been developed by the authors and announced in previous publications. The aim of this paper is to apply such an approach to different earplugs and verify its noise reduction properties. Simulation experiments are conducted based on real world measurements performed using the G.R.A.S. artificial head equipped with an artificial mechanical ear, and the noise recorded in a power plant.

Water is widely used in the mining industry, particularly in mineral enrichment processes. In the process of magnetic separation or flotation of crushed ore, a concentrate (an enriched product), and tailings (a product with a low content of a useful component) are obtained. One of the main tasks of enrichment processes is the efficient use of water resources. This is achieved by reclaiming and subsequent reusing water contained in ore beneficiation products by extracting it in industrial thickeners. Optimizing this process makes it possible to reduce water usage in the mining industry, reduce costs of mineral enrichment processes, and address extremely urgent environmental protection problems. To evaluate the process of sedimentation of the solid phase in the pulp within the thickener, measurements of parameters of longitudinal ultrasonic oscillations and Lamb waves that have traveled a fixed distance in the pulp and along the measuring surface in contact with it are used. The proposed approach allows for the consideration of pulp density, particle size of the solid phase in the ore material and the dynamics of changes in these parameters in the thickener at the initial stage of the sedimentation process. Based on the obtained values, adjustments can be made to the characteristics of its initial product, leading to reduced water usage and minimized loss of a useful component.

In this paper, we present some existence results of solutions and study the topological structure of solution sets for the following first-order impulsive neutral functional differential inclusions with initial condition: [formula] where J : = [0; b] and 0 = t0 < t1 < ... < tm < tm+1 = b (m ∈ N*), F is a set-valued map and g is single map. The functions Ik characterize the jump of the solutions at impulse points tk (k = 1, ... m). Our existence result relies on a nonlinear alternative for compact u.s.c. maps. Then, we present some existence results and investigate the compactness of solution sets, some regularity of operator solutions and absolute retract (in short AR). The continuous dependence of solutions on parameters in the convex case is also examined. Applications to a problem from control theory are provided.

In this paper, a Fault Tolerant Control (FTC) strategy for Linear Parameter Varying (LPV) systems that can be used in the case of actuator faults is proposed. The idea of this FTC method is to adapt the faulty plant instead of adapting the controller to the faulty plant. This approach can be seen as a kind of virtual actuator. An integrated FTC design procedure for the fault identification and fault-tolerant control schemes using LPV techniques is provided as well. Fault identification is based on the use of an Unknown Input Observer (UIO). The FTC controller is implemented as a state feedback controller and designed using polytopic LPV techniques and Linear Matrix Inequality (LMI) regions in such a way as to guarantee the closed-loop behavior in terms of several LMI constraints. To assess the performance of the proposed approach, a two degree of freedom helicopter is used.
