Opis:
The methodology of hierarchical linearized mathematical models construction of complex plants to control purposes is presented in the paper. Thanks to the methodology, the one high order model (flat, one level model), is replaced by a collection of models, which are placed at different hierarchy levels. The models represent dynamic processes typical for each hierarchy level, and omit fast dynamic processes significant at lower levels. The higher is hierarchy level, the slower dynamic processes is described by the model and the lower is order of the models. Multi-level model structure gives possibility of dynamic properties analysis by application of aggregation procedure. One of the principal aggregation procedure is reduction of models at individual levels of hierarchical structure. Such approach enables creating a reduced hierarchical model including a collection of models at every level of hierarchy, characterized by various adequacy scopes and accuracy of the plant features approximation. The paper presents methodology of hierarchical complex plants models creation on the example of evaporator of the BP-1150 boiler. Each of the subsystem at individual level of model hierarchy is a multi-input and multi-output causal systems.

In the article we developed the design principles and implementation of a complex model and optimized the design parameters of drainage. The study was based on the implementation of interconnected structural and technological forecasting simulation and optimization model blocks, which in turn allowed to justify the optimal design parameters and drainage considering multiple natural and agronomic conditions and reclamation facilities. Example of evaluating the performance of drainage on drained lands was made for the conditions of a real project, implemented on lands of agricultural holding “May Day” located within of drainage system “Ikva” in the Rivne region. For the object conditions (average decade formation conditions of the drainage flow module for growing perennial grasses, winter cereals and potatoes) the estimated duration of the growing season was 214 days (100%), of which the total duration of drainage was 60% and included different levels of efficiency: 39% – ecological, 15.5% – technological and 5.5% – economic. The duration of its critical operations (forming module drainage flow exceeds the design of its value) does not exceed 5%. Thus, this approach enables the assessment of drainage with predetermined or specified parameters in the construction or renovation of drainage systems on different levels of effectiveness. It can be effectively used in the overall complex predictive and optimization calculations to substantiate the design and parameters of agricultural drainage, taking into account the variability of natural agrotechnical and reclamation conditions of a real object.
W pracy rozwinięto zasady projektowania i wdrażania złożonego modelu oraz zoptymalizowano parametry projektowe drenażu. Badania oparto na wdrożeniu wzajemnie powiązanych symulacji strukturalnych i technologicznych oraz na optymalizacji bloków modelowych, co pozwoliło uzasadnić optymalne parametry projektowe z uwzględnieniem wielu czynników przyrodniczych, rolniczych i urządzeń melioracyjnych. Jako przykład oceny działania systemu drenarskiego przyjęto rzeczywisty projekt wdrażany na ziemiach przedsiębiorstwa rolniczego „May Day” usytuowanego w systemie drenarskim „Ikva” regionu Równe. W warunkach panujących na badanym obiekcie (dekadowe średnie warunki przepływu wód w uprawie wieloletnich traw, zbóż ozimych i ziemniaków) oszacowana długość sezonu wegetacyjnego wynosiła 214 dni (100%), przy czym przez 60% tego czasu woda była drenowana. Efektywność zależała w 39% od czynników ekologicznych, 15,5% – technologicznych i 5,5% – ekonomicznych. Długość operacji krytycznych (przekraczających wartość planowaną) była mniejsza niż 5%. Prezentowane podejście umożliwia ocenę drenażu ze wstępnie ustalonymi szczegółowymi parametrami w warunkach budowy lub renowacji systemów odwadniających o różnym stopniu wydajności. Może być zatem wykorzystane w złożonych obliczeniach prognostycznych i optymalizacyjnych jako wsparcie projektów rolniczego drenażu z uwzględnieniem zmienności naturalnych warunków agrotechnicznych i melioracyjnych konkretnego obiektu.

The effect of vertical throughfow and temperature modulation on a viscoelastic fluid saturated porous medium has been investigated. The amplitudes of temperature modulation at the lower and upper surfaces are considered to be very small and the disturbances are expanded in terms of power series of amplitude of convection. A weak nonlinear stability analysis has been performed for the oscillatory mode of convection, and heat transport in terms of the Nusselt number, which is governed by the non autonomous complex Ginzburg- Landau equation, is calculated. The effect of vertical through flow is found to stabilize the system irrespective of the direction of through flow in the case of permeable boundary conditions. The time relaxation has a destabilizing effect, while the time retardation parameter has a stabilizing effect on the system. The effects of amplitude and frequency of modulation on heat transport have been analyzed and depicted graphically. The study shows that the heat transport can be controlled effectively by a mechanism that is external to the system. Further, it is also found that heat transfer is more in oscillatory mode of convection rather than in stationary mode of convection.

The agro-food complex combines agriculture, food-processing industry and agricultural trade. It has been established that integration is an effective tool for formation and functioning of this complex. However, due to the unstable political and economic situation in recent years, there is a decrease in production of certain types of food in Ukraine. A vertically integrated structure which looks like a two-tier hierarchical structure has been studied. The purpose of its functioning is profit maximization at the expense of the synergetic effect, resource saving, etc. Under strict vertical integration, profit distribution can be made on the basis of distribution mechanisms of scarce resources, using priorities where expenses of enterprises can be considered a priority. The problem of formation of an effective vertically integrated structure can be brought to solving the issue of the smallest covering of a set. It has been proved that a boundary value of an index of vertical integration is determined by a share of energy resources in the process of production and the potential of their production. In Ukraine, the use of biogas complexes can provide growth of the mentioned index to 0.25. This corresponds to the ratio of energy resources in the crop production cost structure.

We prove that any compact simply connected manifold carrying a structure of Riemannian 3- or 4-symmetric space is formal in the sense of Sullivan. This result generalizes Sullivan's classical theorem on the formality of symmetric spaces, but the proof is of a different nature, since for generalized symmetric spaces techniques based on the Hodge theory do not work. We use the Thomas theory of minimal models of fibrations and the classification of 3- and 4-symmetric spaces.

Linear area level models for small area estimation, such as the Fay-Herriot model, face challenges when applied to discrete survey data. Such data commonly arise as direct survey estimates of the number of persons possessing some characteristic, such as the number of persons in poverty. For such applications, we examine a binomial/logit normal (BLN) model that assumes a binomial distribution for rescaled survey estimates and a normal distribution with a linear regression mean function for logits of the true proportions. Effective sample sizes are defined so variances given the true proportions equal corresponding sampling variances of the direct survey estimates. We extend the BLN model to bivariate and time series (first order autoregressive) versions to permit borrowing information from past survey estimates, then apply these models to data used by the U.S. Census Bureau’s Small Area Income and Poverty Estimates (SAIPE) program to predict county poverty for school-age children. We compare prediction results from the alternative models to see how much the bivariate and time series models reduce prediction error variances from those of the univariate BLN model. Standard conditional variance calculations for corresponding linear Gaussian models that suggest how much variance reduction will be achieved from borrowing information over time with linear models agree generally with the BLN empirical results.

W artykule zaprezentowano zagadnienia związane z redukcją złożonych modeli obiektów sterowania. Przedstawiono podstawowe grupy metod redukcji wraz z omówieniem ich wad i zalet dla celów redukcji złożonych modeli obiektów sterowania. Zaproponowano wprowadzenie nowej miary błędu aproksymacji dla oceny dokładności aproksymacji modelu zredukowanego. Dobór parametrów metod redukcji pod kątem minimalizacji tej miary błędu umożliwia uzyskanego znacznie lepszych rezultatów redukcji niż minimalizacja normy Hankela błędu aproksymacji.
Model order reduction problems of complex control model are presented in this paper. The article presents basic method group of complex control models reduction. Out of the many methods known from the literature, the methods based on balancing a system and then reducing it (SVD method) have become of great significance [1, 2, 5, 6, 10, 11, 13, 17, 23]. Also Krylov-based approximation methods are widely used, which are based on moment matching of the impulse response of the reduced system [1-3, 7, 9, 20]. Most of the MIMO models are characterized by large differences in gain characteristic and gain variability in frequency function (Fig. 1). The Hankel norm of approximation error (4) can't be used to estimate quality of approximation gain characteristic (Fig. 2). Authors propose in the paper new approximation error measure for reduced models of control objects (5). Minimizing this approximation error for selection of method reduction parameters gives better results than minimizing Hankel norm of approximation error (Tab. 1, Fig. 2). The reduction results of a structural model of component 1r (Russian service module) of the International Space Station [4] are also described in the paper [4].

A trabecular bone consists of trabeculae whose mechanical properties differ significantly from the surrounding marrow, therefore an ultrasonic wave propagating within the bone structure is strongly scattered. The aim of this paper was to evaluate the contribution of the first, second and higher order scattering (multiple scattering) into the total scattering of ultrasound in a trabecular bone. The scattering due to the interconnections between thick trabeculae, usually neglected in trabecular bone models, has been also studied. The basic element in our model of the trabecular bone was an elastic cylinder with a various finite-length and diameter as well as orientation. The applied model was taking into account variation of both, elements size and their spatial configuration. The field scattered on the bone model was evaluated by solving numerically the integral form of the generalized Sturm-Liouville equation describing a scalar wave in inhomogeneous and lossy media. For the scattered fields calculated numerically the effective cross-sections were determined. The influence of absorption on the scattering coefficients was demonstrated. The results allowed to conclude that within the frequency range from 0.5 to 1.5 MHz contribution of the second order scattering to the effective backscattering cross-section is at least 500 times lower than that due to the first order scattering. It was noticed that for a frequency higher than 1.5 MHz fast growth of the backscattering (reflection) coefficients, calculated for the second order scattering, occurs.

Opis:
Groundwater exploitation that exceeds its recharge capacity can have a negative impact on the hydrogeological environment. Optimal exploitation means maximising pumping discharge with the least reduction in the hydraulic head. In groundwater exploitation, the position of wells, number of wells, and the discharge of groundwater pumping greatly determine changes in hydraulic head and groundwater flow patterns in a given hydrological area. This article proposes an optimisation model which is expected to be useful for finding the optimal pumping discharge value from production wells in a hydrological area. This model is a combination of solving the Laplace equation for two-dimensional groundwater flow in unconfined aquifers and the optimum variable search method based on the Shuffled Complex Evolution (SCE-UA) algorithm. Laplace equation uses the finite difference method for the central difference rule of the Crank Nicolson scheme. The system of equations has been solved using the M-FILE code from MATLAB. This article is a preliminary study which aims to examine the stability level of the optimisation equation system. Testing using a hypothetical data set shows that the model can work effectively, accurately, and consistently in solving the case of maximising pumping discharge from production wells in a hydrological area with a certain hydraulic head limitation. Consequently, the system of equations can also be applied to the case of confined aquifers.

The paper presents a forecast of the economic security of the inter-industry complex through the construction of a simulation model. The authors considered the possibility of using an econometric model in predicting the level of economic security of the inter-industry complex. The goal was to form a definition of the "inter-industry complex", as well as to study the issues of conceptual and fundamental methods of econometric modeling and forecasting the development of regional industry markets in dynamics. A range of issues related to the main components of economic security in the inter-industry complex has been allocated for scientific work in order to analyze the impact of the components of economic security on the integral indicator. The paper uses a methodology for predicting the structural and spatial-temporal dynamics of interbranch complexes, which includes new and refined methods of modeling and forecasting. As a result, the authors proposed the definition of "inter-industry complex", "economic security in the inter-industry complex", as well as the general provisions of the methodology for econometric modeling and forecasting the level of economic security of the inter-industry complex. The paper presents a full-scale simulation model that allows you to set, evaluate and make a decision using large nonlinear data. This kind of system contains dynamic and retarded data, which makes it possible to apply econometric modeling in automatic calculation.

Z tej perspektywy model biznesowy jawi się jako abstrakcyjne odwzorowanie złożonego doświadczenia. Dynamiczne ujęcie tych aspektów wyznacza potencjał innowacji w organizacji. Rozważania poparto wynikami badań własnych. We wnioskach sformułowano wskazówki metodologiczne do tworzenia modeli biznesu.
In the article the problem of creating of business models in the conditions posed by contemporary economic reality is discussed. The author focus on the micro-processes of value, emerging in the interactions of agents. From this perspective, the business model appears as an abstract representation of the complex experience. The dynamic approach to these facets of the processes determines the potential of innovation within the organization. Methodological guidelines for creating business models are formulated in the conclusions.

A procedure for the identification of lumped models of distributed parameter electromagnetic systems is presented in this paper. A Frequency Response Analysis (FRA) of the device to be modeled is performed, executing repeated measurements or intensive simulations. The method can be used to extract the values of the components. The fundamental brick of this architecture is a multi-valued neuron (MVN), used in a multilayer neural network (MLMVN); the neuron is modified in order to use arbitrary complex-valued inputs, which represent the frequency response of the device. It is shown that this modification requires just a slight change in the MLMVN learning algorithm. The method is tested over three completely different examples to clearly explain its generality.

In the new era of information and communication technology, the representation of information is of increasing importance. Knowing how words are connected to each other in the mind and what processes facilitate the creation of connections could result in better optimized applications, e.g. in computer aided education or in search engines. This paper models the growth process of a word association database with an algorithm. We present the network structure of word associations for an agglutinative language and compare it with the network of English word associations. Using the real-world data so obtained, we create a model that reproduces the main features of the observed growth process and show the evolution of the network. The model describes the growth of the word association data as a mixture of a topic based process and a random process. The model makes it possible to gain insight into the overall processes which are responsible for creating an interconnected mental lexicon.

Opis:
The article is devoted to the development of integrated assessment of the industrial enterprise, in collaboration with the impact on the environment. A new method of multicriteria evaluation of the enterprise activities is given. Provides the mathematical foundations of complex function of desirability. The example of calculation for the industrial enterprise, which produces printing paper is given.
Artykuł przedstawia unowocześnienie zintegrowanej oceny przemysłu, względem oddziaływania na środowisko. Została opisana nowa metoda wielokryterialnej oceny działalności przedsiębiorstw w oparciu o aparat matematyczny. Dodatkowo został podany przykład obliczeń dla przedsiębiorstwa produkującego papier.
