Opis:
Artykuł dotyczy komizmu słownego zawartego w przysłowiach hiszpańskich. Korpus wykorzystany do analizy stanowią przysłowia z zakresu ograniczonego do tematu kobiety.

Opis:
According to the author, a proper interpretation should have a genological character. It means that one should accept the obvious truth that this work is a mime. Therefore it has its distinctive features. It is also harmoniously combined with the requirements of lyrical song. It is designed to arouse to laughter, or rather perhaps smile (γελωτοποιεῖν), and not to move with wistful song of a complaining girl, a fact that has up to know been assumed by modern scholars in all earnestness. The ekphrasis of magic examined by Fritz Graf (1995) confirms the presumptions of interpretation. This scene (l. 1-63) is comic in character, let it suffice to mention the comic tirades of the maid and four (I mention only the principal ones, not all of them) mode to arouse laughter, i.e. διαστρέφειν τὸ ἀληϑές, παράχρουν, ἑτερόσχημον, πλεονάζειν combined with αὔξησις (amplificatio or gradatio ad absurdum). Similarly, they have been used in the second part of the work in combinations between the first and the third, the second and the fourth. This in an unambiguous manner confirms from the genological point of view that Pharmakeutria belongs to mime as a literary genre.

Opis:
This article provides a theoretical basis for the analysis of the phenomenon of irony in the art of the late Middle Ages. In this text the author limits himself to the presentation of theoretical aspects. An attempt to identify the irony as a mean of expression of the artist in the work of art has been planned in the separate work. The starting point for understanding the concept of irony is the phenomenon of laughter, one of the most basic of human responses, which is the base for more complex forms of humor, and its numerous variations. The aim of the author of this article is ordering, as fully as possible, the concepts that revolve around the issue of the comic. Many of the terms included in the main category of the meaning that is the humor, such as parody, satire or irony, is sometimes used interchangeably and the boundaries between them are blurred. Due to the fact that one of the assumptions of ironic speech is that it was not easy to read, its diagnosis is often debatable. However, such scholars as Bachtin and Le Goff see some signs of irony in medieval literature and everyday life of European citizens. Most of the research concerns the irony of its occurrence in the language and art closely associated with the language, the literature. Irony and ironic words are rare in relation to the visual arts. Reflection on the concept of irony and the analyze of its meanings in different contexts in this article is the starting point for subsequent analysis and interpretation of selected works of art.

Especially what is so called „super hero movies”. Historical development of both movies and comic books was the same. There were several thematic borrow-ings. Also popular culture had significant influence on these media. It is possible among movies and graphic novels to distinguish inspiration, adaptation and screening. Comic book movies are not a new phenomenon. But its character seems a bit morę complicated.

The composer translated the incredibly moving medieval poem into the sounds with a great mastery. He managed to create a musical fresco placing us in the centre of the suffering true mystery. The power of his music is so real and stimulating that it is not possible to remain indifferent. The following essay presents the phenomenon of Pergolesi’s artistic genius on the background of that time cultural changes and it focuses on his posthumous fame. The author analyses the composer’s achievement of galant style and discusses Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater in relation to the language of emotions related to sentimental literature. Moreover, he suggests to comprehend that music through the prism of the Italian Marian devotion phenomenon. Scientists are still intrigued by the figure of Giovanni Battista Pergolesi. They try to reconstruct his life story and to deal with the confusion concerning his legacy. The success story of Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater is particularly interesting. Thus, successive generations of musicologists ask a question what the fame origin of this work and its creator could be. The author of this essay presents a few clues that might help us to get closer to the answer to this question.

Seen through the perspective of reception, the works of Witold Gombrowicz constitute a wide range of receptive proposals, selectively updated in the constant dynamic of the interactive discourse between the literary subject and the reader. The reader is invited in a covert partnership with his communication peer (the author–the producer) in their joint journey to the own polyphonic, unidentifiable, mutational ego. The relation to the self, as permanently disputed by otherness, finds its artistic application through the comic as the most powerful weapon against the Form, both in the field of the author and of the recipient.

This masterpiece of Polish peinture of the 1950s is deeply related to history and conditions of human life in Poland and other East European countries after World War II where everyday life is based on ideology imposed on society. Linke’s peinture gives emblematic ironic image of it created as an anti-social realist protest based on paradigm of Polish culture and art of the period.

Opis:
In spite of the fact that Lucan’s sympathies are apparently with the Republicans, his attitude to Pompey, which emerges from the Pharsalia, turns out to be rather critical. Moreover, this criticism actually comes very close to ridicule. Lucan depicts Pompey as a senile and narcissistic leader who dwells on his past success and lives in the world of his own fantasies. Trapped in the vicious circle of his delusions of grandeur, he is rather grotesque than majestic. The harder he tries to enhance his public image, the more pathetic he becomes both in the eyes of his friends and in those of his enemies. The effects of his efforts are, therefore, quite contrary to their purpose. On the one hand, the figure of the senile and deluded Pompey is the caricature of the decaying Roman Republic, whose degeneracy it obviously mirrors. On the other hand, however, Lucan’s grotesque anti-hero is the exact opposite of archetypal epic characters such as Virgil’s Aeneas. Willing yet unable to emulate his literary predecessors, he functions as the caricature of the literary paradigm of a standard epic hero.

Opis:
The similarities between the works of Alexander Fredro and Joseph Conrad beg the question of the extent to which a comparative interpretation can be made. However, before this question can be answered, we must first redefine the concept of the comic for the purpose of making such a comparison. The aim of this article is to show both authors in a new light as (unwitting?) deconstructors of the traditional concept of the comic (which for Fredro was still associated with that of Molière) and as creators of a new, existential concept of the comic that is tied up with human existence and that can be understood as being heightened by the tragic. An excellent example of this is provided by Fredro’s memoirs of the Napoleonic campaign entitled Trzy po trzy (Tittle-Tattle), which – thanks to the testimony of Aniela Zagórska – we know Conrad read in 1922. The manner of Fredro’s narration – which he himself likens to playing with a shuttlecock – in time proves to be that of a particular literary commemoration, i.e. bearing witness. Identified thus as a component of human existence, the comic serves to provide an escape from the “trauma of death”. A similar evolution can be traced in the style of Marlow’s narration in Conrad’s Youth and Heart of Darkness. Like the narrator of Fredro’s memoirs, Marlow makes the transition from “feat” to “testimony”.

Film parodies are now attracting more popular interest than at almost any time in their history except the first two decades of the 20th century (golden era of film parody). The contemporary renewal of parody is an attractive phenomenon of popular culture. To analyse and recontextualize this renewal of parodistic paradigm in film supporting by new media (spontaneous net art) Hendrykowski has compiled a wide-ranging panorama and collection of classic examples made by many famous but also unknown film-makers. Underlying the entire collection is the author’s personal belief that parody can be divers and rich as particular form of cultural rebellion and social catharsis – by turns comic effect and confusing dialogue in polemical confrontation with common opinion and public point of view established by parodied original.
