    The article describes the innovative method of qualitative research, Collective Biography Writing (CBW), which is not well known or not known at all in the pedagogical research of the region of Central and Eastern Europe. This method is especially useful in the re-exploration of issues connected with being, becoming, development, and learning in the context of education and pedagogical research. The article presents the theoretical foundations of the CBW method and its basis in the notions of being as emergent within the encounter, intra-action, entanglement of agencies, and the significance of matter. An outline of the scientific procedure is also presented.

    The article is about analysis of group of Polish Army officers which under the law got rights to general title. In that time rights achieved 100 offices. The largest group were the ex Austro – Hungarian soldiers – 53 officers (more than the half of promoted). Second group were Russian (Tsarist army) – 38 persons. There were five officers form ex – German army and 2 from Polish Legions. Zdzisław Dmochowski has never served in the army. His past requires more research. The largest group of generals were infantry army – 36, and doctors – 24, troopers – 13, gunners – 8, sappers – 5, authorizing officers – 6 and controllers – 3 and train troops – 2. Another services had only once representative.

    The aim of the article is to present the theory of social representations which is not well-known in the Polish pedagogy and which may constitute an interesting theoretical and methodological perspective for the study of the educational discourse. The theory itself is interdisciplinary and therefore may be useful in research carried out within various academic disciplines both in the humanities and social sciences. Theoretical analyses will also concern the possibilities of conducting research of educational discourse within the framework of the social representation theory with the application of the collective biography writing which may be perceived as the critical discourse analysis.

    The article describes an innovative method of qualitative research called collective biography writing (CBW), which is not known at all in the pedagogical research of the region of Central and Eastern Europe. CBW is focused on intensively felt, suggestive memories which are analysed collectively according to a given methodological procedure. CBW may be applied to discover complex conditioning and contexts of individual’s functioning, thanks to which we may try to answer the questions about what we really know about ourselves, others and the reality. The ultimate aim of using CBW is the exposure of what “life” as such looks like, how the world functions, what reality is like and what happens in it – the aim is understanding.

    The article presents an example of poststructuralist interpretation of biography episode written by students on the topic: “Becoming someone”. The poststructuralist analysis focuses on the perception of the subject-in-process, requires destabilization ofrational stable andunifiedconcepts.It aims at researching the functions and results of regularities of a process in case of author’s own research – the process of becoming a teacher in classes I-III. People engaged in CBW have a chance to understand their own situation by trying to answer the questions concerning what we really know about ourselves and the reality. The article discusses chosen theoretical assumptions and elements of the methodological procedure applied in the method of collective biography writing. The article is closed with remarks for the work with students which were verifiedin practice. This may help other researchers when they start working with this method.

Na tle uwag dotyczących metodologii badań biograficznych omówiona została typologia biografii i przykłady biografii zbiorowych ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem nauk o wychowaniu. W końcowej części tekstu zaprezentowane zostały propozycje osób związanych z andragogiką, które powinny zostać upamiętnione w słowniku andragogów polskich
    The purpose of this article is to explore the meaning of biographical research in the context of discussions of collective biography to do with the history of andragogy. The typology of biography and the examples of the collective biographies – with particular emphasis on the science of education – is discussed, based observations concerning the methodology of biographical research on general. In the final part of the text the proposals of people strictly associated with andragogy are presented, as they should be recorded in the dictionary Polish angragogues.

    Przedmiotem artykułu jest – zapisana w narracjach biograficznych i historiach rodzin – pamięć o procesach migracyjnych, które kształtowały regionalną rzeczywistość mieszkańców obwodu kaliningradzkiego po II wojnie światowej. Podstawę analiz stanowi materiał z badań terenowych prowadzonych w Kaliningradzie w latach 2010-2018. Autorka skupia się na wspomnieniach i wyobrażeniach o przeszłości obecnych w świadomości potocznej badanych należących do dwóch pokoleń: pierwszych przesiedleńców oraz osób urodzonych po rozpadzie ZSRR.
    The author examines autobiographical and collective memory of post-war migration that have shaped the Kaliningrad region. The paper is based on the fieldwork carried out in Kaliningrad between 2009 and 2018. The author focuses on memories and imaginations of the past of two generations of Kaliningrad’s inhabitant: first settlers and those born after the collapse of the USSR.

    W swoistym studium przypadku dwóch pogranicznych miejscowości – Krzyża (Kreuz) i Żółkwi (Żowkwa, Nesterow) – Anna Wylegała prezentuje historię przesiedlenia i stosunków polsko-niemieckich oraz polsko-ukraińskich z perspektywy kilku pokoleń respondentów. Na podstawie zebranych wywiadów narracyjnych autorka konstruuje charakterystyczne dla badanych miejsc modele pamięci społecznej. Jak wykazuje na podstawie analizy obszernego materiału badawczego, na pamięć i niepamięć wpływ ma wiele czynników, związanych m.in. z polityką historyczną, ekonomią, przedwojennym składem etnicznym danych terenów, a nawet samymi okolicznościami wysiedlenia i podróży na „ziemie odzyskane”. Wylegała, opierając się na metodologii różnych subdyscyplin nauk humanistycznych i społecznych, analizuje różnice w procesie adaptacji, konstruowania narracji tożsamościowej, oswajania traumy oraz domykania doświadczenia przesiedleńczego. W monografii Przesiedlenia a pamięć teorie pamięci zostały w umiejętny sposób połączone z empirią metody biograficznej.
    In her case study of two frontier towns – Krzyż (Kreuz) and Żółkiew (Żowkwa, Nesterow) – Anna Wylegała presents a story of resettlement and Polish-Ukrainian or Polisch-German relations in perspective of several generations of respondents. Based on collected narrative interviews, the authoress constructs the models of collective memory, characteristic for selected places. As Wylegała shows, based on the analysis of the research material, memory and non-memory depend on many factors such as politics of memory, economy, pre-war ethnic composition and circumstances of resettlement and journey to “regained territories”. Anna Wylegała, basing on methodology of many humanities subdisciplines and social sciences, analyzes the differences in the adaptation process, constructing narratives of identity, suppression of trauma and closing the experience of resettlement. In the monography Przesiedlenia a pamięć, theories of memory are competently connected with empiricism of biographical method.

    The aim of the paper is to present the results of the research on the meaning of the family photography in the contemporary society. I analyze the family photography as a carrier of memory manifesting itself in an interpretative reconstruction of the past in the present through its idealization and mystification. The amateur photography blends with the broader process of the visualization of the contemporary culture, and the transformations that take place within the intensify the consumer tenor of the phenomenon. The development of the IT has made the new forms of gathering, storing and sharing photos available to people. The question arises if the meaning of these activities remains the same as in case of the analogue photos. I refer basically to two theories – Maurice Halbwachs' and Erving Goffman's and on this ground I approach the family albums as the selected and idealized set of family representations subjected to the creative reconstruction in the present, which becomes an axis of the family memory. Besides, the article touches upon the ontological matter of the photography alone, as well as its usefulness in the contemporary reflection of the sociologists.
    Celem artykułu jest prezentacja wyników badań socjologicznych nad znaczeniem fotografii rodzinnej we współczesnym społeczeństwie. Analizuję fotografię rodzinną jako nośnik pamięci zbiorowej wyrażającej się w interpretatywnym rekonstruowaniu przeszłości w teraźniejszości poprzez jej idealizację i mistyfikację. Fotografia amatorska wpisuje się w szerszy proces wizualizacji współczesnej kultury, a dokonujące się przemiany w obrębie technologii nasilają konsumpcyjny wydźwięk tego zjawiska. Rozwój technologii informatycznej udostępnił nowe formy gromadzenia, przechowywania i eksponowania fotografii. Czy jednak znaczenie tych działań pozostaje takie same, jak w przypadku zdjęć analogowych? Odwołuję się przede wszystkim do dwóch teorii – Maurice’a Halbwachsa oraz Ervinga Goffmana i w oparciu o nie traktuję albumy rodzinne jako wyselekcjonowany i wyidealizowany zbiór rodzinnych reprezentacji poddawanych kreatywnej rekonstrukcji w teraźniejszości, która staje się osią rodzinnej pamięci. Oprócz tego, artykuł dotyka kwestii ontologicznych samej analizy? fotografii oraz jej przydatności we współczesnych rozważaniach naukowych socjologów.

    Opis:
    The article considers the possibility of forming a collective biography and socio-cultural portrait of the military bureaucracy of the XIX century, based on the analysis of an extensive complex of departmental records management. The Fund of the Department of military settlements of the Military Ministry was chosen as the source base. The information potential of the collection of service records, award materials, materials on production in ranks or making career (chinoproizvodstvo) and other cases, including biographical information, is determined. The documentary collection of the Department provides researchers with a lot of aggregated information for the formation of meta-sources in the development of issues of collective and personal biography, prosopography and socio-cultural portrait of the military bureaucracy. With the expansion of the source base by attracting the departmental office appears the possibility specifying the place of military bureaucracy in the community serving the Russian bureaucracy and identifies all the features of its service, and determines ways of forming this group of the Russian bureaucracy.

    The article contains a report of the second research workshop of our Euro-Identities project. The workshop took place immediately after collecting first data (pilot interviews). On the base of the digital recording of all sessions, the protocol carefully attempts to reconstruct the proceedings of the research workshop as a social arrangement for the generation of analytical knowledge. Therefore it can be read as a reconstruction of – in the sense of Alfred Schütz’ perspective of “Making Music Together” – “how to do together” analysis of autobiographical narrative interviews. The report dwells on the questions of how to get a first impression of the interviews, of how the European phenomenon is addressed in them and, of how to do the research steps of formal text sort analysis, structural description, analytical abstraction including the reconstruction of the overall biographical structuring and contrastive comparison. Although at this stage of analysis it is not dealt with the research step of constructing a theoretical model, phenomena of social worlds and social arenas, of European opportunity structures, of networking and establishing of social relationships, of transnational comparison, of transgressing cultural borders, of new professional initiatives and professional hybridization and of a non-essentialist self-identification with Europe are found.
    W artykule przedstawiony został drugi warsztat badawczy poświęcony analizie materiałów w projekcie Euroidentities. Spotkanie, które miało miejsce zaraz po ukończeniu zbierania wywiadów pilotażowych zostało nagrane i dzięki temu możliwe było sporządzenie dokładnego protokołu. Zapis warsztatu jest przykładem rekonstrukcji – w rozumieniu Alfreda Schütza – ‘jak robić razem’ analizę wywiadów biograficzno-narracyjnych. W artykule została zwrócona uwaga na następujące kwestie: znaczenia pierwszego wrażenia z lektury wywiadu, odpowiedzi na pytanie badawcze w jaki sposób pojawia się w nim temat Europy, jak realizować procedurę badawczą – strukturalny opis tekstu, analityczną abstrakcję, porównania kontrastowe. Chociaż na tym etapie pracy nie tworzy się modeli teoretycznych zwrócono uwagę na takie zjawiska jak: światy i areny społeczne, europejskie struktury możliwości, tworzenie sieci relacji społecznych, specyficzny typ identyfikacji europejskiej.
