    The paper presents the results of numerical analyses that were carried out in order to evaluate how a change in a size of a clearance in a slewing motion drive system of a telescopic crane influences the movement of a load and the dynamic loads of a structure. A computational model was developed based on a real structure of an experimental crane by using the ADAMS software. The analyses showed that a circumferential clearance at the output of a reduction gear, which is less than 1º, does not adversely affect the precision of the load movement. An excessive clearance leads to losing fluidity of a body slewing motion and to changes in the trajectory of the load.

    Pomiar skrajni budowli linii kolejowej jest zagadnieniem bardzo praktycznym, realizowanym na całym świecie przy pomocy różnych systemów pomiarowych. Pomiar ten ma na celu głównie określenie granic przestrzeni, jakich nie może przekroczyć żaden obiekt (np. budynek), znajdujący się przy torze. W niniejszym artykule dokonano przeglądu wybranych, istniejących systemów pomiarowych służących do określenia skrajni budowli. Aktualnie pracujące systemy oparte są głównie na trzech grupach metod: fotogrametrycznej – wykorzystującej parę zdjęć, metodzie profili świetlnych zadawanych światłem lasera i rejestrowanych przez szybką kamerę cyfrową oraz metodzie bazującej na pomiarze dalmierzem laserowym lub skanerem laserowym. W systemach najbardziej zaawansowanych łączy się powyższe metody pomiarowe. W opracowaniu wykazano wady i zalety poszczególnych systemów oraz dokonano podsumowania technologicznego wykorzystanych urządzeń pomiarowych. Jak wynika z przeprowadzonych badań literaturowych, aktualnie w przypadku systemów dedykowanych diagnostyce skrajni dominują najczęściej rozwiązania oparte na skanerach laserowych, pozyskujących dane w postaci profili rejestrowanych prostopadle do kierunku jazdy, wsparte ewentualnie systemami wizyjnymi. Natomiast w przypadku uniwersalnych mobilnych systemów widać wyraźną dominację wspólnych konfiguracji skanerów laserowych I kamer cyfrowych wspartych rejestracją INS/GNNS. W tych systemach pomiar obiektów jest odniesiony do globalnego układu współrzędnych, a następnie, po detekcji główek szyn, odbywa się transformacja do układu osi toru. Wstępna analiza prowadzi do wniosku, że dokładność pomiaru skrajni jest wyższa dla systemów specjalistycznych niż dla uniwersalnych.
    Measuring of railway structure clearances is a very practical issue, and the operation itself is performed all over the world using various measuring systems. The measurement is aimed chiefly at determining the limits of space that no structure (e.g. a building) located close to the railway track may cross. This paper provides a review of measurement systems used to determine clearance limits of railway buildings. Systems currently in use are based mainly on three groups of measuring methods: the photogrammetric method, which employs a pair of images, the method of light profiles, which are applied by the laser light and recorded by means of a high-speed digital camera, and the method based on laser radar or laser scanner (lidar) measurements. Those most advanced systems combine the above-referenced measurement methods. The paper demonstrates flaws and advantages of particular systems and provides a technological summary of measuring equipment utilized in them. It results from literature queries performed that presently, in the case of systems dedicated to railway clearance diagnostics, these are solutions based on laser scanners, which dominate most often, and which acquire data in the form of crosswise profiles that are recorded perpendicularly to the direction of travel, supported possibly by vision systems. On the other hand, in the case of universal mobile systems, one can notice a distinct domination of joint configurations of laser scanners and digital cameras, supported by INS/GNNS recording. In those systems the measurement of structures is referred to the global system of co-ordinates, and later, upon the detection of rail heads, a transformation to the rail axis arrangement takes place. The preliminary analysis leads to a conclusion that the accuracy of rail clearance measurement is higher in the case of specialised systems as compared to universal ones.

    Jan Stanisław Święcicki, szlachcic z Kujaw, nabył w latach 40. XIX wieku w Ziemi Chrostkowskiej Nową Wieś. Majątek z przewagą lasów był przekształcony w rumunki, a później w folwark. Z trzecią żoną Eleonorą Nelską Święcicki dochował się siedmiu synów i jednej córki. Artykuł przedstawia biogramy tych ośmiorga dzieci. Ujawnione są ślady życia trzech synów uważanych za zmarłych jako noworodki. Najwięcej miejsca poświęcone jest dziewiętnastowiecznym losom dwojga najmłodszych dzieci Jana Stanisława i Eleonory, pomijanych w piśmiennictwie biograficznym. Córkę do udanego małżeństwa doprowadziło jej zainteresowanie literaturą. Najmłodszy syn, księgowy, podbudował karierę zawodową przez małżeństwo z zamożną panną.
    Jan Stanisław Święcicki, a nobleman from Kujawy, acquired the estate Nowa Wieś in the Chrostkowo Land. This estate with a predominance of forests was transformated into clearences, and then into a grange. With this third wife Eleonora Nelska he has brought up seven sons and one daughter. The biographies of these eight children are presented. Traces of the fate of three of them, considered early dead, are revealed. The most place is given to the vicissitudes of life in the 19th century of two youngest children of Jan Stanislaw and Eleonora, neglected in the biographical writings. As for the daughter, her interest in literature led her to a successful marriage. The youngest son, a book- keeper, supported his professional career by marrying a wealthy lady.

    This paper presents a method of numerical modelling of parallel mechanisms with clearances in their kinematic pairs taken into account. The pairs with clearances are modelled as shape connections based on constraints in the form of contact interactions. Using the created models simulations were run to determine the positioning errors of the links in a parallel mechanism with three degrees of freedom (MR2120). In particular, the accuracy of positioning the links close to the mechanism singular configurations was studied.

    Opis:
    Special conditions of applying curtain fabrics, i.e. vertical hanging and lightening with transmitted light, require a different approach to designing. It was found that weaving patterns can significantly affect the continuity of the structure, particularly in the pattern area. In such cases, the effect of patterning may be disturbed by the light transmitted through uncontrolled clearances of a fabric. The study identifies the need to modify the structure, based on basic knowledge of the geometry of a fabric’s structure. A repair system aided by an original computer program was developed on such a basis. The method was validated for structures with a stratified system of thread that were produced with a Picanol rapier loom. For the purposes of results presentation, ImageJ software for computer image analysis was used.
    Specjalne warunki stosowania tkanin zasłonowych, tj. pionowe zawieszenie, w oświetleniu światłem przechodzącym wymagają innego podejścia do projektowania. Stwierdzono, że wzorowanie splotowe może znacząco wpływać na ciągłość struktury, szczególnie w miejscach wzoru. W takich przypadkach efekt wzorowania może być zakłócony światłem przechodzącym przez niekontrolowane prześwity tkaniny. W pracy zidentyfikowano potrzebę modyfikacji struktury w oparciu o podstawową wiedzę z zakresu geometrii struktury tkaniny. Na jej podstawie opracowano system naprawczy wspomagany autorskim programem komputerowym. Walidację metody prowadzono na strukturach z nawarstwionym układem wątku, wykonanych na krośnie rapierowym Picanol. Do celów prezentacji wyników użyto program ImageJ do komputerowej analizy obrazu.

    Artykuł obejmuje metodykę szybkiej oceny nośności mostów składanych opartych na podporach pływających. Mosty kombinowane budowane w ten sposób mogą być wykorzystane jako przeprawy tymczasowe. Metodykę tej oceny przedstawiono graficznie w oparciu o nomogramy opracowane dla dwóch istniejących konstrukcji mostów składanych, tj. MS-54 oraz DMS-65, montowanych na podporach sztywnych i pływających. Nomogramy te w prosty i szybki sposób pozwolą określić, jaki wpływ na nośność mostu ma zastąpienie podpór sztywnych pływającymi przy różnych rozpiętościach przęseł. Przedstawiono także wpływ długotrwałej eksploatacji (powiększających się luzów montażowych w złączach tych konstrukcji składanych) na nośność mostu.
    The papers covers simple evaluation of load-carrying capacity of multi-span folding bridges based on floating supports. Combined bridges built in this approach, could be used as a temporary crossing. The methodology of this evaluation is shown graphically on the basis of designed nomograms for two existing bridge structures i.e. MS-54 and DMS-65, mounted on rigid and floating supports. These nomograms facilitate the simple and fast determination of the impact of changing fixed support into floating support with different bridge length spans on the carrying capacity of the bridge. The paper also presents the influence of long-term use (enlarging the mounting backlash in the joints of these structures) on the carrying capacity of the bridge.

    The article describes the flow rates of mineral oil and water flowing, as working media, through the commutation unit of a hydraulic satellite motor. It is demonstrated that geometrical dimensions of commutation unit clearances change as a function of the machine shaft rotation angle. Methods for measuring the rate of this flow and the pressure in the working chamber are presented. The results of pressure measurements in the working chamber during the transition from the filling cycle to the emptying cycle are included. The pressure in the motor’s working chamber changes linearly as a function of the shaft rotation angle, which has a significant effect on the leakage in the commutation unit clearances. The paper presents new mathematical formulas in the form: Q=f(Δpγ) to calculate the flow rate of water and mineral oil in the commutation unit clearances. The γ factor is described as a function of fluid viscosity and clearance length (the motor shaft rotation angle). The coefficients used in these formulas were determined based on the results of laboratory tests of a motor supplied with water and mineral oil.

    This paper considers the increasing use of “negotiated” instruments of European competition law (ECL) enforcement as illustrated by the European Commission’s (EC) enforcement practice directed at firms of American and East Asian origin. The paper first defines the notion of “negotiated” instruments of ECL enforcement as a non-confrontational enforcement method that centres on the existence of a public-private dialogue and mutual will to solve the contested issue, which in turn facilitate mutual benefits in enforcement outcomes (e.g. faster market improvements v. no fines). Three key “negotiated” instruments of ECL enforcement are presented next: conditional merger clearances, commitments decisions, as well as leniency and the settlement procedure. The EC’s decision to introduce negotiated enforcement instruments into its toolkit has been largely embraced by the market. Their ever growing practical application suggests that public-private dialogue is becoming a rule, rather than an exemption, in public enforcement of ECL. This thesis is illustrated by a selection of ECL cases involving US (e.g. Microsoft) and East Asian (e.g. Samsung, Sony) companies which chose to cooperate with the EC in order to generate tangible benefits for themselves, which are largely precluded in a more adversarial procedure
    Cet article examine l’utilisation croissante de l’application des instruments européens «négociés» du droit de la concurrence (ECL) comme il est illustré par la pratique de l’application de la Commission européenne (CE) dirigée vers les entreprises d’origine américaine et asiatique (Asie de l’Est). L’article définit d’abord la notion d’instruments «négociés» de l’application de l’ECL comme une méthode d’application non conflictuelle qui se concentre sur l’existence d’un dialogue public - privé et la volonté commune de résoudre la question en litige, qui, en revenche, facilite les avantages mutuels dans les résultats de l’application (par exemple, des améliorations plus rapides du marché v. aucunes amendes). Trois instruments «négociés» de l’application de l’ECL principaux sont présentés ci-dessous: les autorisations conditionnelles de fusion, les décisions d’engagement, ainsi que la coopération et la procédure de règlement. La décision de la CE à introduire des instruments négociés de l’application dans sa boîte à outils (toolkit) a été largement acceptée par le marché. Leur application pratique en croissance constante suggère que le dialogue public-privé devient une règle, plutôt que d’une exemption, en application publique de l’ECL. Cette thèse est illustrée par une sélection de cas d’ECL concernant les entreprises en provenvence des États-Unis (par exemple Microsoft) et de l’Asie de l’Est (par exemple Samsung, Sony) qui ont choisi de coopérer avec la Commission européenne afin de générer des bénéfices tangibles pour eux-mêmes, qui sont en grande partie exclue dans une procédure plus contradictoire.

    The article describes test results of rolling bearings conducted on turbojets, with the simultaneous use of two diagnostics methods: FAM-C and FDM-A [7]. For these methods, no installation of additional sensors on the aircraft is needed - the on-board electric generators are used as sensors. The „FAM-C” method uses the aircraft’s alternating current (AC) tachometer generator, whereas the “FDM-A” method uses the direct current (DC) commutator-type generator. Spectrum of angular velocity of individual bearings manifests itself in high frequency ranges (60-240 Hz for the tachometer generator, 3-10 kHz for the DC generator), making the oscillation signal resistant to noise. This frequency modulated signal can be picked up by measuring instruments in any point of the aircraft electrical system. After detection the initial signal is obtained. Measurement analysis can be easily automated [10]. During detection, the carrier frequency is filtered off. Currently, with the simultaneous use of correlated FAM-C and FDM-A methods, four models of rolling bearings wear can be detected: increase of aggregate friction, seizure of rolling elements, increase of radial clearances, increase of axial clearance. This division was made on the basis of observing the technical condition of rolling bearings on many (around 30) turbojets during its normal operation.
    Artykuł omawia wyniki badań łożysk tocznych przeprowadzonych na silnikach turboodrzutowych z jednoczesnym wykorzystaniem dwóch metod diagnostycznych: FAM-C i FDM-A [7]. W metodach tych nie trzeba instalować żadnych dodatkowych czujników - jako przetworniki wykorzystywane są prądnice pokładowe. W metodzie "FAM-C" wykorzystuje się prądnicę tachometryczną prądu przemiennego (AC), podczas gdy "FDM-A" wykorzystuje komutatorową prądnicę prądu stałego (DC). Widmo prędkości kątowej poszczególnych łożysk przenoszone jest przez prądnicę w pasmo wysokich zakresów częstotliwości (60-240 Hz dla prądnicy tachometrycznej, 3-10 kHz do prądnicy prądu stałego), dzięki czemu staje się bardzo odporne na zakłócenia. Ten modulowany częstotliwościowo sygnał może być odbierany przez przyrządy pomiarowe w każdym punkcie instalacji elektrycznej samolotu. Po detekcji odzyskiwany jest sygnał pierwotny. Analiza wyników z takiego pomiaru może być łatwo zautomatyzowana [10]. Podczas detekcji odfiltrowywana jest częstotliwość nośna. Przy jednoczesnym stosowaniu skorelowanych metod FAM-C i FDM-A, mogą być wykrywane cztery modele zużycia łożysk tocznych: zwiększonych oporów biernych, zaciśniętych elementów tocznych, zwiększanych luzów promieniowych, zwiększonych luzów osiowych. Podział ten został dokonany na bazie obserwacji stanu technicznego łożysk tocznych wielu (około 30- tu)egzemplarzy silników turboodrzutowych w czasie ich normalnej eksploatacji.
