Opis:
Spectral clustering that was proposed by Ng, Jordan and Weiss, is not in fact a new clustering method, but rather a new way to prepare data set for clustering method. This method uses the idea of spectral decomposition. The main aim of the paper is to present a possibility of application spectral clustering when dealing symbolic data, with a special focus on different distance measures that can be applied for this kind of data. In experiment studies artificial data sets with known cluster structure were obtained with application of clusterSim and mlbench packages of R software. Each data set was clustered 40 times with application of each distance measure applied. Received results were compared with known cluster structure with application of adjusted Rand index.

Both clinical and theoretical aspects of the problems of people suffering from personality disorders attract researchers’ attention. An attempt to modify the current classification systems confronts scholars with the problems of the uncertain empirical status of the criteria for diagnosing this group of disorders and the imperfection of assessment instruments. The text is an introduction to a volume of articles devoted to personality disorders, particularly to historical and theoretical conceptions of personality disorders, instruments enabling the diagnosis of personality disorders and the assessment of cognitive schemas specific to personality disorders (in the light of both Beck’s cognitive theory and the Young schema theory).

This study presents the vehicle classifications existing in various documents: „The Encyclopaedia of military Technology”, The Polish Norm PN-V-01002: „Armoured Equipment. Parameters and comparative ratios. Terminology and classification”, Structure of Car Transportation of Polish Armed Forces, The Defence Equipment Classification, The Allied Research Procedures Publication AVTP 00-07 „Military Vehicles Categories” (STANAG 4357 and 4358), The Common Procurement Vocabulary, established by the European Commission) and Fixed Assets Classification. The authors of the article take note of the inaccuracies in existing classifications and point out the necessity to create new, logical error free classification. The conception presented in the article is an attempt to put this situation in order. Presented conception of classification vehicles used in the army, primarily as weapons carries, necessary combat and logistics equipment, and also as means of transport and protection of sub-units of infantry, in order to eliminate chaos in military vehicle nomenclature used in documents such us: acts, regulations, norms and instructions. The conception characterizes certain level of generalization. For further detailed division can be used criteria named in the article: general criteria and particular criteria.

The International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) was developed and recommended for general use by the WHO in 2001. Many countries have already, or are in the process of implementing the ICF. Due to limited awareness of the ICF and a lack of financial resources, the classification is not in use in Poland. This would require appropriate action and engagement of the Polish legislature. The aim of the paper is to present issues relating to the introduction of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health in the context of the approach to medical classification in Poland.
Międzynarodowa Klasyfikacja Funkcjonowania, Zdrowia i Niepełnosprawności (International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health -ICF) została opracowana i zaproponowana do powszechnego stosowania przez WHO w 2001 roku. Wiele państw wprowadziło lub obecnie wprowadza klasyfikację ICF. Niska świadomość informacyjna na temat klasyfikacji ICF oraz brak zabezpieczenia finansowego powodują, że klasyfikacja nie jest stosowana w Polsce. Całość procedur wymaga stosownych działań władzy ustawodawczej. Celem pracy jest przedstawienie aspektów wprowadzenia Międzynarodowej Klasyfikacji Funkcjonowania, Zdrowia i Niepełnosprawności na tle orzecznictwa lekarskiego funkcjonującego w Polsce.

W ramach zbioru projektów wytycznych projektowania dróg i ulic opracowano „Wytyczne kształtowania sieci dróg” w zakresie wymagań podstawowych. W artykule wskazano na wybrane kierunki zmian w kształtowaniu struktury sieci drogowej zachodzące w praktyce zagranicznej oraz przedstawiono kluczowe elementy projektu wytycznych. Do elementów tych zaliczono: ogólne wymagania planowania sieci drogowej, klasyfikacje jednostek osadniczych i obiektów jako generatorów ruchu, standardy dostępności jednostek osadniczych i nieruchomości, system drogowych połączeń jednostek osadniczych i nieruchomości, kształtowanie struktury funkcjonalnej sieci drogowej i kształtowanie struktury technicznej sieci drogowej.
As part of the set of draft guidelines for the design of roads and streets, “Guidelines for the formation of the road network” were developed in the scope of basic requirements. The article indicates selected directions of changes in formation the structure of the road network taking place in foreign practice and presents the key elements of the draft guidelines. These elements include: general requirements for road network planning, classifications of settlement units and objects as traffic generators, standards for the availability of settlement units and real estate, a system of road connections between settlement units and real estate, formation the functional structure of the road network and formation the technical structure of the road network.

The history, how the Mössbauer studies of meteorites began in Poland, was already described in our “Meteorites Odyssey… 20 years have passed”. One late afternoon (it was probably Spring 1995) I [Jolanta Gałązka-Friedman] was sitting in the Nonna Bakun’s office (at Banacha street) and we were talking about planet Mars. Suddenly Mr. Marian Stępniewski jumped to our room saying: We have a new Polish meteorite. It is called Baszkówka. Do you have any suggestion, how could we study this meteorite? Mössbauer spectroscopy – we both answered at the same time. And this is how it started, and it has been continued for the next quarter of a century. The first results of the Mössbauer studies of the Baszkówka meteorite were presented at the ISIAME conference in Johannesburg in 1996. In this paper we present the most important problems related to meteorites, which were investigated by us using Mössbauer spectroscopy. We will, however, show almost no formulas. We will try to explain everything by a method based on plots of Mössbauer spectra. We will try not to boast too much regarding our successes, but to explain also the problems that we were not able to resolve. While investigating the Baszkówka meteorite, we got most fascinated by troilite. We noticed that most of the laboratories determined the Mössbauer parameters of troilite incorrectly. They did not take into account the so-called theta angle, the value of which depends strongly on the number of vacancies and various additives. We thought that the theta angle may show us the parent body of the investigated meteorite. Unfortunately, this hypothesis turned up to be too difficult to defend. Then we studied Morasko meteorite and we discovered, by the comparison with Baszkówka meteorite Mössbauer spectra, and determined – up to now – not identified mineral phases present also in Morasko, such as pyrrhotite, daubréelite, taenite, tetrataenite, antitaenite and cohenite. In 2019 we published in MAPS a paper titled “Application of Mössbauer spectroscopy, multidimensional discriminant analysis and Mahalanobis distance for classification of equilibrated ordinary chondrites” (4M method), in which a new objective method for classification of ordinary chondrites is based on the knowledge of the Mössbauer spectra of the 4 main mineral phases present in the ordinary chondrites of H, L and LL type. Now we are working on the refinement of the 4M method enlarging our collaborative team by various foreign laboratories.

In this paper, some of the existing classifications of the Saleh’s and related models of the AM/AM and AM/PM conversions occurring in communication power amplifiers (PA) are reviewed. It is shown that these classifications are inconsistent and must be refined. Obviously, carrying out such a refinement properly needs a good knowledge and correct understanding of the mechanisms leading to the AM/AM and AM/PM conversions. This was achieved in this paper by performing a thorough analysis of the PA behavior using an analytical tool, the Volterra series. The main points of this analysis are presented here in great detail. Among others, it is shown that the influence of the PA memory on the AM/PM conversion is two-fold: direct and indirect. The former can be however fully neglected. On the other hand, the indirect influence caused by “the interaction of the carrier with the PA memory” cannot be neglected when the PA has not enough wideband frequency characteristics. The latter effect mentioned causes changes in the carrier phase that are received as the phase changes of the baseband modulating signal.

W artykule omówiono rolę codziennych dojazdów do pracy jako jednego z głównych wyznaczników powiązań funkcjonalnych oraz kryterium rządowych klasyfikacji i delimitacji obszarów. Za przykład posłużyły amerykańska klasyfikacja obszarów metro- i niemetropolitalnych według United States Office of Management and Budget oraz kanadyjska klasyfikacja spisowa i klasyfikacja Rural and Small Town. Rozwiązania praktyczne przedstawiono w odniesieniu do wyników wybranych badań zjawisk społeczno-ekonomicznych, które będąc przyczyną lub efektem dziennych migracji wahadłowych do pracy, stanowią uzasadnienie dla wykorzystania ich głównych parametrów, tj. kierunku, zasięgu i nasilenia, jako kryteriów klasyfikacyjno-delimitacyjnych.
The paper discusses the role of commuting as one of the main indicators of functional linkages and a criterion used in governmental classifications and delimitations of areas, e.g. in the US Metro and Non-metro Classification by US OMB, in the Canadian Census classification, and the ‘Rural and Small Town’ classification. The above methods are presented in the light of selected research findings on the social and economic phenomena which, as either a reason for or a result of commuting, justify the use of the three main parameters, i.e. direction, catchment areas, and intensity, as tools of classification and delimitation of areas.

The purpose of the paper is to propose a new method for classification. Our MSPLS method was deduced from the classic Partial Least Squares (PLS) algorithm. In this method we applied the Maximum Separation Criterion. On the basis of the approach we are able to find such weight vectors that the dispersion between the classes is maximal and the dispersion within the classes is minimal. In order to compare the performance of classifier we used the following types of dataset - biological and simulated. Error rates and confidence intervals were estimated by the jackknife method.

The paper presents the possibility of typical geological maps applications for evaluation of engineering-geological conditions in spatial planning analyses. Appropriate sheets of Detailed Geological Map, Hydrogeology Map and Geo-environmental Map were selected for the considered commune. Genesis and consistency of soils, level of first groundwater table and geodynamic processes should be the base to applying 4-level classification of engineer- ing-geology conditions. The spatial and quantitative analyses were prepared using GIS technology. This procedure was testedfor the case of "urban sprawl” area near Warsaw and let to evaluation scheduled solutions in "The study of the conditions and directions of the spatial management of the commune of Nadarzyn”.

Autorka omawia wybrane aspekty prawne przestępczości komputerowej. W pierwszej części artykułu poruszono kwestie związane z definiowaniem przestępczości komputerowej. Kolejne zagadnienie dotyczą rodzaju przestępstw możliwych do popełnienia z wykorzystaniem komputera z uwzględnieniem klasyfikacji przestępstw komputerowych na gruncie polskiego prawa karnego. Autorka wykorzystuje dwie prawno-porównawcze metody badawcze, tj. historyczno-opisową oraz formalno-dogmatyczną.
The author discusses selected legal aspects related to computer crime. In the first part of the article, the author discusses issues related to the definition of computer crime. Another issue con-cerns the type of crimes that can be committed using a computer, classifying computer crime sunder Polish criminal law. In the article, the author uses two comparative research methods, i.e. historical-descriptive method and formal-dogmatic method.

Celem artykułu jest prezentacja przedmiotu badań rachunkowości behawioralnej na podstawie jej definiowania oraz typologii jej obszarów badawczych w literaturze przedmiotowej. Zastosowano metodę analizy literatury dostępnej w zasobach Internetu. Przeszukiwano zawartość baz publikacji naukowych opierając się na kombinacjach odpowiednich słów kluczowych. Definicje odnaleziono w dwóch anglojęzycznych pozycjach zwartych oraz siedmiu artykułach (w tym w dwóch w języku polskim), natomiast do prezentacji obszarów badawczych posłużyło ostatecznie 11 artykułów napisanych w języku angielskim. Analiza definicji pozwala stwierdzić, iż są one bardzo ogólne, niejednoznaczne i mają charakter ujęć wstępnych czy roboczych. Jeśli chodzi zaś o próby porządkowania ustaleń rachunkowości behawioralnej, to nie powstała jak dotąd klasyfikacja jej obszarów badawczych, lecz raczej typologie. Te natomiast nie zawsze w pełni oddają specyfikę i szeroki zakres tej subdyscypliny. Wartością niniejszego opracowania jest zebranie i podsumowanie funkcjonujących w literaturze publikacji podejmujących problem przedmiotu rachunkowości behawioralnej, co stanowi krok w procesie systematyzowania jej dotychczasowego dorobku badawczego i krystalizowania się jej tożsamości.
The aim of the paper is to present the subject of behavioural accounting research based on the definitions and typologies of its research areas that can be found in literature. The method of analysis of literature available on the Internet was used. Databases of scientific publications were searched using combinations of relevant keywords. Definitions were found in 2 books and 7 articles (including 2 in Polish), and for the purpose of presentation of the research areas 11 articles written in English were selected. Analysis of the definitions shows that they are very general, ambiguous and preliminary in nature. As for the attempts to systematise the work in the field of behavioural accounting, the classification of its research areas has not yet been established – we only have typologies that do not always fully reflect the specifics and the wide scope of this sub-discipline. The main value of the paper is in collecting and summing up the publications addressing the subject of behavioural accounting, which is a step in the process of systematizing its current research achievements and development of its identity.
