The first study was conducted in 1996 in 10 (i.e. all) nurseries and 11 randomly selected preschools in Szczecin. The study involved 526 children (257 boys and 269 girls) aged 1-4 years, and 865 children from preschools (448 boys and 417 girls) aged 4-7 years. In 2006, the study was repeated in seven nurseries (i.e. all nurseries that existed in Szczecin at the time) and 11 preschools in the city of Szczecin, i.e. the same as in 1996. The study involved 314 children attending nurseries: 169 boys and 145 girls aged 1.5-4 and 887 preschool children (461 boys and 426 girls) aged 4-6 years. Motor development of nursery children was assessed based on the Denver test in two selected areas. The level of motor development in preschool children was assessed on the basis of a modified Wrocław Physical Fitness Test developed by B. Sekita. Comparison of the results helped answer the question whether and what developmental changes took place over a decade. The results indicated that the level of motor development of children in Szczecin, compared with children examined 10 years earlier, showed no significant differences.

This study examines media usage and the effect of viewing media violence on Nigerian children. Child violence has become massive in recent years. There is also the fear that it will be worse in the future. Many claimed that the rise of child violence emanates from the use of violent media. The objective of this study is therefore to examine the impact of electronic media use on some of the violent acts carried out by some Nigerian children. The study uses sociological and analytical methods. 70 questioners were printed and distributed to parents. 59 questioners came back but 2 were incomplete and were destroyed. 57 were used. The focus of the study is on children between the ages of 0-12. The study area is Sapele Delta State. The study finds that children between the ages of 0-6 love more of educational programs while children between the ages of 7 to 12 prefer films with violent content. Also, viewing violent films makes children develop aggressive and violent behaviour especially fighting and bully towards their friends. It is my recommendation that caregivers give closer attention to their children and reduce their engagement with violent media. This, no doubt, will help to reduce the rate of violent act among Nigerian children in the future.

Opis:
Sharenting, as a phenomenon involving parents sharing their child's image on social media, is becoming increasingly prevalent in Poland and around the world. More and more children have their first digital footprint before birth or before turning 6 months old. Many parents see no harm in showcasing the image and data related to their child on the internet. In this context, it is important to draw attention to the potential consequences and threats associated with publicizing photos and posts related to children. This article attempts to present the phenomenon of sharenting among Polish parents and the potential risks associated with it. It is based on research conducted in 2023 on a sample of 80 posts shared by parents on Instagram and Facebook, as well as an analysis of available research results on sharenting and the resulting threats. In the article, by showcasing various aspects of a child's life and functioning displayed on social media by Polish parents, we aim to indicate how sharing a child's image can pose a threat to their physical and psychological well-being.

The international child abduction is regulated in the Hague Convention of 25 October 1980 on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction, in the Council Regulation (EC) No 2201/2003 of 27 November 2003 concerning jurisdiction and the recognition and enforcement of judgments in matrimonial matters and the matters of parental responsibility, repealing Regulation (EC) No 1347/2000 (Brussels II bis), and in the domestic law - in the Code of Civil Procedure. In the recent years the Regulation Brussels II bis was subject to review. As a result drawbacks were indicated and amendments have been proposed, in particular with a view of simplifying the procedures. The changes were triggered by the increasing number of cases in which one of the parents removes the child without a consent from the other. The Ministry of Justice does not provide any data on the amount of cases taking place in Poland. It is nevertheless certain that this amount has increased in comparison to previous years. Moreover, it is acknowledged that contrary to the Hague Convention and the EU Regulation, many children abducted by their parents are retained in Poland. The amendments to the Code of Civil Procedure seem to address this situation and streamline the process of the return of the children. The question remains: do the proposed amendments to the EU Regulation and those already enacted in the Code of Civil Procedure warrant to a sufficient degree that the welfare of a child - being one of the determinants of these regulations - is safeguarded?

The history of surrogacy is composed of cases of happy solving family problems, but also of conflicts and lawsuits concerning a child and his welfare. In modern times it became the next to adoptions additional possibility of ensuring infertile individuals fulfillment of their dreams of posterity. It can also be used for comfort of a woman - to avoid the burdens of pregnancy and delivery, or for a comfort of a man – to be a single father without a mother of a child, wife and family ties with her. Since its beginning in late 70-ties of XX century, legality and ethical aspects of surrogacy are lively discussed, as well in the court rooms, as in the doctrine. The following article is an attempt to deal with just some of the mentioned ethical problems.

The article covers the issue of the initiative of organising care for small children at care homes in Krakow in the first half of the 19th century. Krakow’s civic-minded townspeople, referring to examples from all over Europe and facilities organised in Warsaw, implemented a project setting up a care shelter in Krakow. The analysis of archive material indicates that towards the end of the 1830s and the beginning of the 1840s, in Krakow, one could speak of the beginnings of a movement aimed at extending care over children of working families, including helping to feed them, morally educate them and provide for them with a basic education. Members of Krakow’s Charity Society actively participated in this work, recruiting people interested in creating care shelters, and drawing up projects for such institutions. In the end, care shelters were established and operated in the second half of the 19th century on the initiative of the private individuals who founded the Committee for Shelters for small children in Krakow. It must be noted that these included members of the Charity Society.

This article is an attempt to specify the meanings of a child’s category, childhood and the best interest of the child made on the basis of analysis and interpretation of pedagogical thought of Janusz Korczak and literature analysis. The interpretations and references to Korczak’s thoughts have been there included. The research project were based on document content analysis. Korczak – the figure undoubtedly the foreground in Polish pedagogy and the world doctrine of children’s rights. It is his pedagogical practice and contemporary reception of his thoughts, made by educators and lawyers, that will become the basis for seeking the meanings of categories on which the modern doctrine of children’s rights and the system of their protection are built. As a result: the principle of the best interest of the child as a determinant of the pedagogical practice of Janusz Korczak has been normalized in the Convention on the Rights of the Child and other acts of Polish and international law. This category is interpreted dynamically in the context of changes in the discourses of a child and childhood functioning in social and political life, especially in the area of education and upbringing of the young generation. As a pedagogical category, it is visible in the reflection of many pedagogues as a central category, most often identified with the goal of all adult activities for the child.

The article looks at the history of childhood in the society, the country of Germany, and abroad. Today’s view of children as legal persons, recognizing their endowment with competencies and resources but also their ontological dependence, is a rather ‘new’ perspective in human history. Therefore the article first focuses onto the UN-Child-Right’s-Convention which was ratified in Germany in 1992. Second, a closer look at the development of the legal foundations of child protection in Germany shows how child protection in Germany was developed. The reader will get an overview about the child protection system in Germany, afterwards. The article ends with some recommendations to establish a child-rights-focused perspective in the child protection system in Germany.

Children consist the significant part of commercial recipients and as a consumers have a great importance for companies. At the same time commercials have significant and multidimensional influence on children. It is truism to say that adults make their buy or not decisions under the pressure of their children, who obtain the knowledge about the market and products straight from the commercials. They receive the commercial content from plethora of media. Until recently mostly from the TV screen, nowadays more often from computer one. If we take into account that commercials are at the same time the instrument of creation of needs, pointer of their fulfillment, trendsetter and identity builder we can not be blind on its significance for the personality of young men. Because of the obvious commercial reasons there is no possibility to eliminate the products and the children addressed advertising out of the market. However this do not mean we should no constrain such broadcasts because of their form or content. That is the main reason to construct legal constrains. The fundamental ones are included in regulations fighting the unfair competition. In the Polish unfair competition act legislator included the ‘commercial’ article 16 combating forms and contents that infringe the fair competition rules. One of the clauses prohibits advertising that ‘uses the credulity of the children’ – pt 3) pt 1 art. 16 unfair competition act. This is solely one clause within whole act that tackles this issue. Additionally it’s construction causes doubts about the interpretation. It is hard to asses when actually one can say about the use of immanent children virtue of credulity. Another, important act is the statue on the radio and television containing clauses directly regulating rules on children advertising. According to the act it is prohibited to broadcast commercials that directly incite children to buy products or services, or encourage children to uphold pressure on their parents or other persons in the aim to incite them to buy advertised products or services (art. 16). Among the most important regulation falls provisions of pharmaceutical law. According to them “Advertising of healing product can not be directed to children or contain element addressed to them” (art. 53 p. 2). However even short analyze of tv commercials of healing products for children leads to the conclusion that almost each is apparently addressed to them taking into account their content, fairytale scenery, costumes or children actors. Above leads to the conclusions that even the most detail regulation does not prevent children against harming influence of commercial content, if the traders would not have will to do it.

In her paper the author points to the impoverishment of the popular and policy discourse on good parenting and highlights a glaring absence of the moral dimension and moral language in the debate. This fact unveils a somewhat flattened understanding of the process of child-rearing - devoid of moral reflection, moral choices, and moral concepts, thus giving the impression that modern parenting is solely a matter of skilful application of universal, neutral, scientifically verified procedures and tools. Such discourse promotes, so called, effective parenting conceptualized as a set of skills or ‘the science of parenting’ rather than the process that should assign moral meaning to the things parents and educators do with children. The paper reveals weaknesses of such conceptualization by unveiling some of its underlying assumptions that are questionable and yet determine the discussion on and approach to child-rearing and parenting in Britain today.

Background. Smart device usage has become favorable among children worldwide. Objectives. The study aimed to identify the relation between usage of electronic devices with obesity and speech delay. Material and methods. A cross-sectional study was conducted among 452 healthy children (18 months to 14 years old) from pediatric clinics of the Ministry of Health (MOH), Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Data was collected from June to July 2018. Analysis included linear regression, logistic regression, chi-square, t-test and ANOVA. Results and discussion. Male participants totalled 57.7% and females 42.3% (mean age 82.27 months) (SD = 40.18). Mean duration of usage: 3.1 hours (SD = 2.58) per day. Among toddlers only, 31.1% had speech delay. The results showed no relation between the duration of smart device usage and obesity (p-value = 0.904) or speech delay (p-value = 0.538). Duration of usage was not influenced by gender or parents’ marital status; however, children who live with both parents spent less time on smart devices than others. The smart device most used was a tablet (47%), and the main usage was primarily entertainment (60.8%) and games (47.6%). Only 57.8% reported having parental supervision. Among children, 59.3% eat chips and 48.9% eat candy as snacks during usage. Among parents, 71.5% believe devices reduce children’s physical activities, 64.8% believe that the smart device is a problem, 62.5% of parents should control time of use, and 60.5% believe that their children are attached to the devices. Conclusions. There is no association between the duration of using smart devices and obesity, nor speech delay. Future directions and recommendations should be discussed.

Opis:
Criticism of traditional school contributed to the creation of different directions and concepts in education. The creation of new concepts in pedagogy was a reaction to the idea of Herbart which places the child in the background in the teaching process. The main demands of new schools should take into account the individuality and interests of students and their multilateral education. The pedagogy of the end of the nineteenth century there were individualistic directions of education promoting progressive school. This paper presents selected concepts of raising a child in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. The study analyzes the effects of education according to the concept Celestine Freinet and Peter Petersen. Also it shows the advantages of the concept of dalton education.

Drawing on frame theory, corpus-linguistic methods and parliamentary Hansards data, the paper examines the discursive framing of children in Ghanaian parliamentary discourse. The analysis shows that children are framed within the context of child rights and protection, child labour, child marriage and child trafficking. While Ghanaian parliamentarians think that children should be protected from child labour, they challenge the international description of child labour; they think that child labour should be defined within cultural-specific contexts, for child apprenticeship is not child labour and child labour not child apprenticeship. Again, the MPs raise concerns about what constitutes child trafficking as described by international bodies and organisations. Child marriage is unequivocably condemned by Ghanaian MPs. While the fight against these ills affecting children is strongly advocated by the MPs, the success of such fight is unclear. These discourses around children are indications of how children are included in national discourses.

The author extracts from the Humanae Vitae encylical the thread of responsible parenthood. He asks about the situation of a child in family half a century after the publication of the papal document. He points towards a number of threats and disruptions in the adult-child relations, which result from an improper understanding of who a child is from the philosophical perspective. He opts for a development of philosophical reflection on a child and enriching it with new aspects. He reaches out for inspiration to the works by Janusz Korczak, which present an outline of the original philosophy of a child. What deserves particular recognition is the perception of a child as a “a project of a future man,” and not as a full-valued person who deserves appreciation of the contemporary ontic and social status. In the conclusion the author develops and clarifies Korczak’s controversial postulate of the “children’s right to death,” giving it a contemporary interpretation.

Childhood and childhood are socio-cultural constructs whose form has changed in social history and in cultural-geographical space, conditioned by a number of different factors. The interdisciplinary discourse contains numerous proposals for systematizing these constructs based on various specification criteria. The article proposes a general systematization of these constructs in the perspective of their timeliness. The changing image of the child and childhood is of primary importance for the character of social and educational relations between children and adults. It has moreover caused a transformation of the image of research relations. Since the idea of children’s rights came into being, a new paradigm of research – childhood studies – has been developing, characterized by a specific ontological and epistemological dimension as well as its own approach to methodological solutions. These aspects are discussed and presented in the second part of the article.

W Polsce wcześniaki stanowią ok. 6–7% wszystkich rodzących się dzieci. Chociaż gwałtownemu rozwojowi technologii medycznej i neonatologii zawdzięcza się zdecydowany wzrost przeżywalności dzieci urodzonych skrajnie przedwcześnie, to coraz częściej są podnoszone pytania o ich dalszy rozwój zarówno w rozumieniu indywidualnym, jak i oddziaływania na system rodzinny. Według badań dzieci zarówno urodzone przedwcześnie, jak i z wewnątrzmacicznym zahamowaniem wzrostu częściej doświadczają różnych form przemocy ze strony opiekunów lub innych dorosłych w porównaniu z rówieśnikami urodzonymi o czasie. Wiadomo także, że matki dzieci urodzonych przedwcześnie znacznie częściej niż matki dzieci urodzonych o czasie przejawiają duże nasilenie lęku, niepokoju, a nawet objawów zespołu stresu pourazowego. Rozczarowanie, wynikające z bardzo dużej rozbieżności między oczekiwanym macierzyństwem a sytuacją przedwczesnego porodu, wzmacnia negatywny stan psychiczny rodzica. Kształtujące się na takiej bazie postawy rodzicielskie i stosowane metody wychowawcze mogą nie sprzyjać optymalnemu rozwojowi wcześniaka. Trudne zachowania dziecka i konieczność większych poświęceń rodziców – przy niesprzyjających warunkach społeczno-ekonomicznych – mogą stanowić znaczny czynnik ryzyka przemocy w rodzinie. W artykule poruszono problematykę wcześniactwa jako czynnika ryzyka krzywdzenia oraz opisano przykładowe programy profilaktyczne o charakterze prewencyjnym i interwencyjnym, uzupełnione o przykłady pochodzące z praktyki własnej.
Premature children represent about 6–7% of all babies born in Poland. Although the rapid development of medical technology and neonatology owes a definite increase in survival rate of children born extremely prematurely, more and more frequently questions about further development of these children are raised, both in terms of a child’s individual development and its impact on the whole family system. According to research, children born prematurely and children with a diagnosis of intrauterine growth restriction more often experience various forms of violence from caregivers and/or other adults, than children born at term. It is known that mothers of children born prematurely more often, compared to the mothers of children born at term, present with a high level of fear, anxiety and even symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder. Disappointment resulting from a very large discrepancy between the expected motherhood and the situation of premature labor strengthens the negative psychological state of a parent. The parental attitudes formed on this basis and the educational methods, used by parents, may not be conducive to the optimal development of a premature child. Difficult behaviors of the child, the need for greater sacrifices of parents, under unfavorable socio-economic conditions, may constitute a significant risk factor of child abuse. This publication deals with the issue of prematurity as a risk factor for abuse and describes exemplary prevention and intervention programs, supplemented with examples from our own practice.

W czasach starożytnych to ojciec mógł i decydował o prawie do życia swoich dzieci, za co nie ponosił odpowiedzialności karnej. W literaturze przedmiotu zagadnienie zespołu dziecka maltretowanego pojawiło się dopiero pod koniec XIX w. W niniejszym artykule podjęto próbę odniesienia się do tego zagadnienia z punktu w odniesieniu do instytucji tajemnicy lekarskiej i obowiązku denucjacji w przypadku uzyskania informacji sygnalizujących popełnienie przestępstwa z art. 207 k.k.
Over the centuries, the problem of child abuse has been shaped in various ways. In ancient times, the father could and decided about the right to life of his children, for which he did not bear criminal responsibility. In the literature on the subject, the issue of the battered child's syndrome appeared only at the end of the 19th century. This article attempts to address this issue from the point of view of the institution of medical secrecy and the obligation of denunciation in the event of obtaining information signaling the offense under Art. 207 C.C.

Zwraca uwagę na dobór odpowiedniej muzyki, a także wskazuje cele i formy sesji terapeutycznych u dzie-ci z autyzmem oraz uszkodzonym narządem słuchu i wzroku.

The aim of the present study is to investigate communication strategies used by twenty upper-primary school students in two types of interactions in Spanish. In the first phase of the study, students were paired with level and aged matched peers. Their task was to describe how to get to the particular place of the city on the basis of the map. During the second part of the study, they conducted short interviews with Spanish native speakers. Those two types of interactions were recorded and then transcribed in order to find out what communication strategies were the most commonly used by participants. The results clearly show that, even though participants were beginner learners of Spanish, they managed to successfully convey the message with the help of a wide array of communication strategies. Depending on the dyad students worked in, they used a variety of methods that enabled them to interact in those pairs. The most conspicuous differences were observed in terms of appeals of help and switches to English (L2) and Polish (L1).

The aim of this article is to bring the reader closer, in a synthetic way, to the legal realities in which children had to work in the eighteenth century in Europe. The analysis applies in particular to the private law shaping the relationship between parents and children. The first issue taken into account was the varied situation of children of married and unmarried couples because of the fact that children born out of wedlock lived outside the family and had no personal rights and property such as were due to the child born in a marriage. A considerable part of the publication is devoted to the rights resulting from parental authority over a child, which directly shaped his position in the family and in society. The emphasis was put on a particularly strong position in order to stress the father as a head of the family. The rules prevailing at that time relating to the upbringing of children and their education were illustrated, taking into account the different situation of sons and daughters. Important issues were presented relating to the entering into marriage by adolescent children, and their financial situation. Also mentioned briefly were legal sanctions threatened for abuse by children of parents, as well as parents for abandoning or killing a child. In the final part of the article legal regulations of eighteenth-century Europe are quoted. The enforcement of these regulations foreshadowed a change in legal concepts of the child and the treatment of children within a legal system.

Technological progress forces us to present after several years the updated standards in ultrasound examination of newborns, infants and older children. It should be emphasized that the examination of the youngest patients requires one to use high-class equipment. Lack of cooperation on the part of the child and imaging small structures constitute a huge challenge for the examiner. The work presents equipment requirements, the technology of examining the abdominal cavity in children and the manner of preparing the examination result. Moreover, modern expectations as regards ultrasound surgery equipment, where children are subject to examination have been presented. The minimum set of transducers the ultrasound apparatus should be equipped with has also been pointed out as well as the minimum requirements concerning image recording. Extending the scope of transducers over “minimum” significantly raises the imaging possibilities in pediatrics. Standard preparation of children for ultrasound has been discussed, taking into consideration the age of the patient and indications. It is essential to understand that it differs from standard preparation for examination in the case of adults. The technique of examining the abdominal cavity has been described, which enables the repeatability of examinations and ensuring making all the available structures visible. It proves imperative especially in the case of a large number of examinations. Attention should be paid particularly to the urinary system imaging – owing to the greatest incidence of congenital diseases in that system.

The protection of an unborn child in the ancient Rome took important place because of the dignity (dignitas) of family and because of the public interest. This caused that there were many legal regulations about this problem. Treating the problem from the chronological perspective, the prevention of the interests of an unborn child was at first mentioned in SC Plancianum de liberis agnoscendis, and next in the edict de inspiciendo ventre custodiendoque partu and in the rescript divi Fratres , which were issued under rule of emperors Mark Aurelius and Lutius Verus (temporibus divorum fratrum). According to these regulations, the pregnant woman could be treated with: inspectio ventris, custodia ventris and custodia partus. The aim of these institutions was to confirm the state of pregnancy and to control woman till the moment of delivery. Undertaken measures were justified by the best interest of the unborn child, i.e. his protection. Legal regulation in SC Plancianum did not refer to the confirmation of pregnancy, because it was regulated in edictum de inspiciendo ventre custodiendoque partu, and then extended in the rescript Divi Fratres. In the praetor’s edict the institution of inspectio ventris is regulated – as an examination addressed to freeborn women, which was supposed to confirm of to deny the fact of pregnancy. This examination was made also when there was difference in the opinion about pregnancy between a man and his divorced wife. In particular it referred to cases when a woman was claiming that she is pregnant or she was denying this fact, contrary to the opinion of her husband. Similar situation took place after the husband’s death, when widow claimed that she wasn’t pregnant and there was no justified suspicion that the pregnancy is simulated. The examination was made by the midwives (obstetrices) and they were to exclude the simulation of pregnancy, or substitution a child or substitution of a dead child by the other one. The procedures undertaken towards midwives were stricly regulated in the praetor’s edict, in the commentary to this edict, and in the fragments Sententiae Pauli (PS. 2, 24, 5–9). According to rescript of emperors Mark Aurelius and Lutius Verus (Divi Fratres), if husband insisted on inspectio ventris, then a very respected woman was chosen. A wife had to go to her house to be examined by three midwives you could rely on. If all of them or two of them confirmed the fact of pregnancy, then a special legal procedure against woman was started. New midwives were engaged in it. It shows how big public interest was put to protect the unborn child and to ensure the legal continuity of family. Rescript Divi Fratres was probably published to explain some regulations coming from edictum de inspiciendo ventre custodiendoque partu. Also the commentaries of jurists had the same purpose. All of them together were important for regulation of inspectio ventris. Legal regulations of inspectio ventris were used even in the Greek-Roman Egypt. The confirmation can be found in papyrus dated 147–148 A.D. The procedure shown in this document is the same known from edict. The difference is that praetor could decide how may midwives should be engaged and where the examination was supposed to take place.

The aim of this article is an attempt to analyze modern threats in social awareness. Particular attention will be paid to loneliness, which is associated with various factors that may relate to interpersonal disorders, addiction, social pathologies, suicides or mental diseases. Reflection on the human condition in the twenty-first century can not ignore the spheres related to the issues of new media. Modernity is connected with the development of civilization or modernization of everyday life. Feeling negative emotions is associated with consequences that are undesirable for a person, such as suffering, insecurity, lack of sense of agency, low self-esteem, suicide attempts and other self-destructive behaviors. Often, the lack of social support and the ability to cope with difficulties are a source of suffering, burnout, despair or lack of satisfaction and willingness to do anything. Various forms of support are designed to ensure that help a person in achieving the desired objectives and provide psychological comfort, even in unfavorable circumstances.

Introduction: Computed tomography is an important imaging technique in Emergency Units. Thanks to its popularity, radiological changes are found in healthy children more commonly. The aim of this paper is to evaluate the incidence of maxillary sinus radiological changes in children with head trauma who admitted to the Emergency Unit of the University Children Hospital in Lublin. Material and Methods: A retrospective analysis of computed tomography scans of children suffering from head trauma admitted to the Emergency Unit of the University Children Hospital in Lublin was carried out. A group of 425 patients was analyzed. Results: Maxillary findings were present in 81 cases (19.06%); in 38 patients (8.94%) the changes were unilateral, while in 43 (10.12%) they were bilateral. Maxillary mucosal thickening was the most common radiological abnormality, present in almost 12% of the investigated cases (approximately 62% of all revealed changes). Maxillary total opacification as an isolated finding was found in younger children only. Retention cysts and maxillary polyps were found with a similar low frequency as maxillary opacification but in elder children only. Discussion: Asymptomatic radiological changes in computed tomography scans are common. Maxillary mucosal thickening is the most frequent asymptomatic abnormality. Maxillary polyps and pseudocysts are rare in the paediatric population. Maxillary opacification suggests other more significant pathologies and requires further diagnostics. Physicians should avoid diagnosing patients with sinusitis without proper examination and based on radiological abnormalities only. Paediatric patients with revealed maxillary changes should remain under regular laryngological control.

Current research in bilingual children’s language development with one language dominant has shown that one linguistic system can affect the other. This is called Crosslinguistic Influence (CLI). This paper explores whether CLI is experienced by a bilingual child raised in two typologically distinct languages in terms of phonological development. It uses data from the study of a child simultaneously acquiring Indonesian and German between the ages of 12 months - 20 months, with Indonesian as the dominant language. The sound segments developed by the child showed universal tendencies, with the appearance of bilabials prior to alveolar sounds, followed by velar sounds. The sounds were produced mostly in the form of stops, nasals and glides. Three phonological processes were displayed by the child: substitution, assimilation and syllable structures. The front rounded vowel [ʏ], which exists in German but not in the Indonesian sound system, was systematically replaced by the palatal approximant [j]. This approximant exists in the Indonesian sound system but not in the German phonemic inventory. This provides evidence that, in terms of phonological development, the child experienced CLI, but only for certain sound transfers.

Because I represent interactional theory of creativity, and I want to explore and talk about creativity (in the full sense of the word) personality traits are taken into account, the creative process, the properties of creative work and lifestyle. When I take into account only one of the aspects I talk about subjective creativity. For these reasons, this text focuses on the verbal subjective creativity of students class I–III, which is an integral sphere of their lives. They create their own language, as soon as they hear what others say to him or her. In natural situations, verbal subjective creativity of the child can be seen in two ways: as a creative language learning and as its creative use. In the first case emphasizes that the child ran onto a language not just by imitation. In the process of learn-ing a language student creates it at the same time, so the overlap are two ways of acquiring it: creation and imitation. Mastering the language and using it in social situations and cognition are inseparable from creative activity. Language is a tool for a child with which the child communicates with the environment, material for artistic activity and object recognition. The more variety of situations requiring the usage of language encounters the child, the more you have the op-portunity to shape in the belief that language is a very variable, flexible „creation” which gives many opportunities to express the same content in a different way.
Ponieważ reprezentuję interakcyjną teorię twórczości, to chcąc ba-dać twórczość i mówić o niej (w pełnym tego słowa znaczeniu), uwzględniam cechy osobowości, proces twórczy, właściwości dzieła twórczego oraz styl życia. Gdy zaś biorę pod uwagę tylko jeden z powyższych aspektów, mówię o kreatyw-ności. Z tych względów w tym tekście koncentruję się na kreatywności werbalnej uczniów klas I–III, która jest nierozłączną dziedziną ich życia. Oni tworzą swój język, w miarę jak słyszą, co do nich mówią inni. W naturalnych sytuacjach kreatywność werbalna dziecka rozpatrywać więc można dwojako: jako twórcze uczenie się języka oraz jako jego twórcze używanie. W pierwszym przypadku podkreśla się, iż dziecko nie opanowuje języka przez samo tylko naśladowanie. W procesie uczenia się języka uczeń tworzy go zarazem, a więc nakładają się tu dwa sposoby przyswajania go: kreacja i naśladownictwo. Opanowanie języka i używanie go w sytuacjach społecznych i poznawczych łączą się nierozerwalnie z aktywnością twórczą. Język jest dla dziecka narzędziem porozumiewania się z otoczeniem, tworzywem dla działalności artystycznej oraz obiektem pozna-nia. Im więcej różnorodnych sytuacji wymagających używania języka napotyka dziecko, tym więcej ma okazji do ukształtowania w sobie przekonania, iż język to „twór” bardzo zmienny, elastyczny, dający wiele możliwości wyrażania tej samej treści w odmienny sposób.

This paper primarily aims to present, both theoretically and empirically, the art of children at the early education stage. In the first part of the paper I present theoretical foundations and exemplary studies of the creativity of children aged 4–9. In the empirical part I present results of the study of plastic and literary art of third-graders (age 9–10), undertaken under infl uence of music. In the study the method of observation and analysis of products were applied. The results show that children’s creativity bears features of an intellectual activity and it is saturated with children’s experiences, which is demonstrated by the adequate titles of their literary and plastic art works as well as by the descriptions of the music flow.

Parenting a child affected by a disorder with vast consequences for functioning such as autism undoubtedly modifies the family’s situation and broadens the scope and essence of parents’ responsibility. Daily experiences connected with facing new, previously unknown, problems are not an easy challenge. On the other hand, they constantly enrich mothers’ awareness related to parenting. The aim of the research was to learn the significant problems, feelings, opinions and reflections arising from the experiences of mothers of children with autism spectrum disorders. The research material was collected through free-form interviews with 20 mothers raising autistic children. The analysis of the collected empirical material shows that mothers construct various concepts of parenting, including their own roles and everyday relations with the children. Their early reactions reveal the collapse of the previous vision of parenting and the loss of the real perspective concerning the perception of the child and their own role in child raising. Everyday parenting experiences – full of unique difficulties with building relationships with the children – allow the mothers to constructively seek individual solutions and patterns of coexistence.

In many children’s statements there are expressions that are uncharacteristic for the age of the speakers. Such expressions often turn out to be inspired by television. The aim of the article is to select such expressions, that have been described here as „TV¬ inspired phrasems”. They are then analysed using the tools created by Wojciech Chlebda. These analysed expressions have been found in linguistic publications, on TV and radio programs. They are analysed in relation to their sociological context (media socialization, concept of homo videns by Sartori).

When the sexual abuse crisis exploded in the Irish Church, the canonical expertise, experience and the administrative processes for dealing with and managing complaints and suspicions of child sexual abuse by clergy were simply not fit for purpose. Addressing the crisis in the Irish Church required not only a canonical but a multidimensional response involving pastoral supports to victims and other parties, preventative measures, education, guidelines, policies, procedures, training and monitoring. Four sets of guidelines (1996, 2005, 2008, 2016) document the Irish Church’s increasingly robust efforts to address this crisis supplemented by the clearer universal norms issued by the Holy See. The article highlights some of the significant developments in the guidelines and canonical legislation: the paramountcy principle; the issue of recognitio and the binding authority of these guidelines. The nature and value of guidelines is that it they can never be completely definitive, and are continually evolving to reflect changes in the statutory context, best practice, in canon law or otherwise as these arise.

The article deals with the notions of “child” and “childhood”. Attention is paid to the importance of research into the biological, spiritual and social nature of child, and to the dependence of its development upon the influence of “adult culture”, children’s subculture and personal efforts. The paper emphasizes the need for a comprehensive study of the problems of the child and childhood in terms of age, history, culture. In the context of child science, the child should be considered as an individual, individuality, personality, subject of activity. The article draws attention to the need to introduce the discipline “child studies” into pedagogical specialties.
W artykule zostały określone pojęcia „dziecko” oraz „dzieciństwo”. Zwrócono uwagę na istotność badania biologicznej, duchowej oraz społecznej natury dziecka, a także na zależność jego rozwoju od wpływu „dorosłej kultury”, dziecięcej subkultury oraz czynników osobowościowych. Ukazano, że w kontekście wiedzy o dziecku badanie problemów dziecka powinno być rozpatrywane na poziomach: jednostki, indywidualności, osobowości, podmiotu aktywności. Skoncentrowano się na wprowadzeniu dyscypliny „wiedza o dziecku” do specjalności pedagogicznych.

RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this article is to present arguments against the possibility of adoption of a child by a homosexual person in the light of Polish family law.  THE RESEARCH PROBLEM AND METHODS: Since the Polish legislature does not explicitly accept or prohibit the adoption of a child by a homosexual person, the question of the possibility of adoption of a child by such a person is raised in the light of the principles of family law in force in Poland. There has been applied the method of critical and comparative analysis as well as the analysis of the reference literature, rulings of the Polish Supreme Court and Polish reference legislation. THE PROCESS OF ARGUMENTATION: After having initially defined the aim of the study, the author indicates the function and purpose of the adoption and its premises. Two basic premises of adoption are explained in detail - the premise of the best interests of the child and the appropriate personal qualifications of the adopter. The essential part of the argumentation is to find the answer to the question on whether adoption of a child by a homosexual person in the light of Polish family law is possible or not.   RESEARCH RESULTS: The result of this research is the statement of impossibility of adoption of a child by homosexuals in the light of Polish family law.  CONCLUSIONS, INNOVATIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: The analysis confirmed the dominant view in Polish doctrine according to which adoption of a child by homosexuals appears to be in contradiction of  the principle of the best interests of the child.

In this conceptual paper, we examine the Mosaic Approach (MA), a participatory research methodology that positions children as active contributors rather than mere subjects. This approach employs a variety of tools, including observations, interviews, photography, map-making, and child-led tours, to capture the rich and varied experiences of children. By treating children as co-constructors of knowledge, the MA acknowledges their capacity to make substantial contributions to research that affects their lives and environments. Central to this methodology is the ethical focus on children's rights to participation and expression, guided by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. It ensures that children's perspectives are not only heard but also significantly influence research outcomes. This paper explores both the theoretical underpinnings and practical applications of the MA, illustrating how it shifts traditional power dynamics between children and adults in research settings and allows children's insights to shape the study's direction and findings. The flexibility of the MA across various contexts highlights its effectiveness in harnessing children's potential and enriching research with their insights. Everyone’s personal dignity guarantees freedoms and rights regardless of age, which means these freedoms and rights are also granted to children. Children’s rights highlight children’s subjectivity and draw attention to their special status, which is, in fact, determined by the child’s dependence on adults, but is still not passive or submissive. This emphasis on the child’s rights sort of equalises the child’s legal situation which is results from their physical and mental immaturity and dependence. However, every human being – including a child – has duties in addition to rights, which remain in relative balance. Thus, they contribute to the formation of the child’s personality in a balanced manner. Focusing solely on the enjoyment of rights and simultaneously neglecting duties distorts this balance and contributes to the development of attitude of taking everything for granted, laziness, and choosing to live at the expense of others. It seems therefore necessary to restore the balance between the focus on children’s rights and the marginalisation of their responsibilities.

Celem artykułu jest próba spojrzenia na dotychczasowe badania poświęcone seksualności dziecka. Skłoniło mnie do tego nadal stereotypowe podejście i przekonania na temat seksualności dziecka, a także stale niedostateczna ilość rzetelnych badań i publikacji w tym zakresie. Obecnie „kwitnie” rynek poradnikowy, pojawia się wiele książek poświęconych właśnie tej tematyce, niestety mają one często postać zideologizowaną i nie zawsze są oparte na badaniach naukowych. Tekst składa się z czterech części. Autorka rozpoczyna rozważania od refleksji nad seksualnością dziecka, przywołując także jej antropologiczne wątki. Następnie prezentuje przykłady inkantacji studenckich w kolażach. Artykuł kończy przegląd najbardziej powszechnych rozwiązań metodologicznych w badaniach nad seksualnością dziecka.
The presented text is an attempt to review existing studies on child sexuality. On the one hand, it is concerned with stereotypical beliefs about it and, on the other, there is still a lack of reliable research and publications. Currently, the guidance market is “flourishing”, where many books devoted to this subject appear, unfortunately it often has an ideological form and is not always based on scientific research. The structure of the text consists of four parts. The author begins her reflections on the child’s sexuality by also invoking anthropological themes. She then presents examples of student’s artistic expressions on the subject in the form of montages. The article closes with an overview of the commonest methodological solutions available in child sexuality literature.

Background. Balanced meals eaten by toddlers at nursery school play an important nutritional role in satisfying a child’s daily demand for energy and nutrients as well in preventing any dietary deficiencies or excesses from occurring. Objective. To evaluate the energy and nutritional value of children’s diets at nursery schools in Lodz, Poland. Materials and methods. Analyses were performed at 30 nursery schools throughout the Lodz city municipality on the basis of 10 day menus and food inventory reports. Results were calculated using the ‘Dieta 5.0’ computer programme according to the database at the Warsaw Institute for Food and Nutrition. These were related to nutritional standards for children aged 1-3 years. Results. On average, dietary calorific values exceeded those of current nutritional recommendations, where protein was found to be 3 times higher than current standards although falling within the range of reference values. Dietary fat intake was found to be rather low, with a high content of saturated fat coupled with low intakes of polyunsaturated fatty acids. Dietary carbohydrates agreed with recommended limits however these were exceeded by the mean sucrose intake. Significant deficiencies were most noted in vitamin D and iodine intake and additionally vitamin E and iron intakes were also low. However, intakes of sodium, phosphorus, magnesium, zinc, vitamin A, B2, B6 and B12 were above the recommended values. Conclusions. The diets surveyed in nursery schools need to be better balanced to comply with current standards and dietary guidelines.
Wprowadzenie. Żywienie w żłobku, zapewniając dzieciom większość posiłków w ciągu dnia, odgrywa istotną rolę w dobowym pokryciu zapotrzebowania na energię i składniki odżywcze, a także w zapobieganiu występowania niedoborów czy nadmiarów żywieniowych. Cel. Celem pracy była analiza i ocena wartości energetycznej i odżywczej racji pokarmowych dzieci uczęszczających do łódzkich żłobków, z uwzględnieniem sezonów żywieniowych. Materiał i metody. Badania zawartości energii i składników odżywczych w racjach pokarmowych dzieci przeprowadzono w 30 żłobkach Miejskiego Zespołu Żłobków w Łodzi, na podstawie analizy dekadowych jadłospisów i raportów magazynowych. Do obliczeń wykorzystano program komputerowy Dieta 5.0 z bazą danych Instytutu Żywności i Żywienia. Uzyskane wyniki odniesiono do aktualnych zalecanych norm żywienia dla dzieci w wielu 1-3 lat. Wyniki. Średnia wartość energetyczna racji pokarmowych była zawyżona w stosunku do zaleceń. Zawartość białka 3-krotnie przekraczała normy, ale mieściła się w zakresie wartości referencyjnych. Stwierdzono zbyt niską podaż tłuszczu z dietą, wysoką zawartość kwasów tłuszczowych nasyconych przy zbyt niskiej podaży kwasów wielonienasyconych. Zawartość węglowodanów przyswajalnych była zgodna z zaleceniami, ale średnia podaż sacharozy przekraczała wartości rekomendowane. Najbardziej deficytowa była podaż witaminy D i jodu, badane racje pokarmowe zawierały również za mało witaminy E i żelaza. Zawartość potasu, wapnia, witaminy C, B1, PP i kwasu foliowego w badanych racjach pokarmowych była zgodna z normą żywieniową. Podaż sodu, fosforu, magnezu, cynku, witaminy A, B2, B6 i B12 znacznie przewyższała zalecane wartości. Wnioski. Racje pokarmowe dzieci w badanych żłobkach wymagają lepszego zbilansowania w stosunku do aktualnych norm i zaleceń żywieniowych.

The last review of the literature on nutrition in Polish children covered the years 1980-1995. From that time living conditions in Poland have changed due to political and economic changes. Attitudes toward eating and healthy life-style have also changed. Therefore, it is necessary to summarise current knowledge about what Polish preschool children eat. The aim of this article was to present the areas of research on nutrition in Polish preschool children based on the review of the literature, and to present and summarise the results of the studies on the assessment of preschool menus. The review of the literature showed two main areas of research on nutrition in Polish preschool children: the assessment of meals planned and served to children at preschools, and the assessment of food behaviour and daily food and nutrient intake in preschool children. Studies on energy and nutrient content of preschool menus should be carried out regularly in order to improve nutrition of children during their stay at preschool and vegetarian menus should be studied to fill the gap in the literature. The methodology of assessing preschool meals should be the same in order to provide the possibility to compare both the results and the conclusions. Preschool menus should be adjusted to the needs of 3-year-old children and 4-6-year-old children separately. The nation-wide education programme for preschool staff should be worked out and implemented in order to teach the preschool staff about the current nutrition recommendations for children, as well as the nutritional needs of 3-year-old children and 4-6-year-old children.
Ostatni przegląd literatury dotyczącej żywienia polskich dzieci obejmował lata 1980-1995. Od tego czasu warunki życia w Polsce uległy zmianie na skutek przemian politycznych i ekonomicznych. Postawy wobec jedzenia i zdrowego stylu życia także się zmieniły. Dlatego konieczne jest podsumowanie współczesnej wiedzy na temat tego co jedzą polskie dzieci w wieku przedszkolnym. Celem pracy było przedstawienie obszarów badań z zakresu żywienia polskich dzieci w wieku przedszkolnym na podstawie przeglądu literatury oraz przedstawienie i podsumowanie wyników badań dotyczących oceny jadłospisów przedszkolnych. Badania z zakresu żywienia polskich dzieci w wieku przedszkolnym skupiły się na dwóch problemach, a mianowicie: ocenie posiłków planowanych i serwowanych dzieciom w przedszkolach oraz jakościowej i ilościowej ocenie sposobu żywienia dzieci przedszkolnych. Należy regularnie prowadzić badania dotyczące zawartości energii i składników pokarmowych w przedszkolnych jadłospisach, aby skorygować ewentualne błędy żywieniowe. Szczególną uwagę powinno się zwrócić na jadłospisy w przedszkolach wegetariańskich, gdyż brakuje badań na ten temat. Metodologia oceny posiłków przedszkolnych powinna być ujednolicona, aby zapewnić porównywalność zarówno wyników, jak i wniosków. Jadłospisy przedszkolne powinny być dostosowane do potrzeb dzieci 3-letnich oraz 4-6-letnich. Należy opracować i wprowadzić narodowy program edukacyjny dla personelu przedszkolnego, aby personel znał współczesne zasady żywienia dzieci oraz znał potrzeby żywieniowe dzieci 3-letnich oraz 4-6-letnich.

Background: Functioning in a peer group plays an important role in child development. Building self-esteem of children depends on many factors such as physical health, self-evaluation of their physical performance, academic achievement, social support, family relationships, as well as relationships with peers and teachers. Importance of contacts with peers increases during school-age. At this time children are not able to reject the opinion of other people and subject their behaviour completely to the expectations of their peers. When the need for emotional contact is not satisfied, the complex of being different appears. Isolation within group causes a sense of inferiority, the child becomes passive and resigned. Children, who are chronically ill, rejected or isolated often follow negative emotions in their actions, they become aggressive towards other children or do not want to continue learning. Often the decision about an individual teaching plan results in further isolation of the child. The child’s position in the peer group affects the developing personality, self-confidence and self-esteem. Aim of the study: The aim of the study was to determine the interpersonal relationships of young school-aged children with type 1 diabetes in their peer groups. Material and methods: The study was conducted on children with type 1 diabetes and their parents, who are supervised by Clinic of Diabetes, Regional Medical Center in Opole. The research tool used in both groups was a questionnaire consisting of open and closed questions elaborated by the authors of this study. Results: 73% (41) of evaluated children declared that diabetes does not hinder their performance at school. 93% (55) children claimed that they do not hide their condition from their peers. In addition, 61% (34) talk about their illness with their peers and 69% (38) of them can count on their peers’ help in self-control of diabetes. 71.9% (46) of parents of children with type 1 diabetes allow their children to participate in school trips and 68.8% (44) to participate in school competitions. Conclusions: In most children, diabetes does not affect children’s performance at school. They participate in classes, are accepted and liked in their peer group. Chronically ill children should be able to participate in all types of activities as much as their healthy peers. It seems necessary to continue studies on performance of young school-aged children with type 1 diabetes in their peer group.

The focus on children’s well-being is fundamental to any child-centred policy. Hence, migrating children’s interests are usually considered in a migrant context rather than in the best interests of the child, highlighting the challenges of implementing child-centred asylum policies in practice. Based on this observation, the paper focuses on the discrepancies between the legal provisions for the reception of minor asylum seekers in Poland and practice on the ground: how they serve the education opportunities for such children, as the only social area where the child-centred approach is detectable. The paper discusses the extent to which the legal provisions of the Polish migration law are suitable for adopting a child-centred approach in the asylum procedure to enable children to continue their education. It is further explored in connection to the Micreate fieldwork study with asylum-seeking children. The paper analyses specific institutions to assess their potential for implementing child-centred management in the reception and integration of asylum seekers and to highlight the obstacles in this direction. Finally, the paper formulates recommendations for necessary changes and shifts in practice to recognise the children-friendly practices in asylum procedures.

W badaniu, w którym uczestniczyło 586 ojców (pozostających w związku małżeńskim z matką i mieszkających z rodziną), ich żony oraz dzieci – uczniowie pierwszej klasy szkoły podstawowej (uczestnicy badania dotyczącego opieki w okresie wczesnego dzieciństwa, przeprowadzonego przez amerykański Narodowy Instytut Zdrowia Dziecka i Rozwoju Człowieka – NICHD) wykazano, że addytywny model zaangażowania ojców wyjaśnia jakość interakcji ojciec – dziecko lepiej niż model skupiający się tylko na jednym elemencie systemu. Przekonania ojca na temat wychowania, kompetencje językowe dziecka, praca zawodowa matki oraz jakość interakcji matka – dziecko wspólnie oddziałują na jakość interakcji ojciec – dziecko. Średnie dochody i poziom wykształcenia ojca są powiązane z relacją ojciec – dziecko, ale efekty tych zmiennych wyjaśniają czynniki indywidualne i charakterystyka rodziny. W analizie moderacyjnej ujawniono istotną interakcję między przekonaniami ojca na temat wychowania a umiejętnościami społecznymi dziecka, wstępnie potwierdzając słuszność założenia systemowo-ekologicznego, że interakcję ojciec – dziecko można najlepiej wyjaśnić w ramach modelu, który jest nie tylko addytywny, ale także interakcyjny.
Guided by a systemic ecological framework for father involvement, we investigate children’s, mothers’, and fathers’ contributions to observed father-child interaction. Analyses of 586 married resident fathers, their wives, and a target first-grade child (participants in the NICHD Study of Early Child Care) demonstrate that an additive model of father involvement accounts for the quality of father-child interaction better than a model which focuses on only one component of the system. Father parenting beliefs, child language skills, child social skills, maternal employment, and dyadic mother-child interaction quality each additively and significantly contribute to positive father-child interaction. Father average income and education levels relate to dyadic interaction, but individual and family characteristics account for their effects. Moderational analyses resulted in a significant interaction between father parenting beliefs and child social skills, providing preliminary support for the systemic ecological assumption that father-child interaction is better understood in a model that is not only additive but also interactive.

A considerable percentage of Polish children from agricultural families are engaged by their parents in performing work activities on farms. The performance of these tasks arouses various emotional reactions in children, from the feeling of threat, fear and anxiety, to the feeling of satisfaction, being contented and proud. The subjective feeling of happiness and life satisfaction is an extremely important factor affecting the mental health and functioning of a human being. The objective of the study was to show to what extent the quality of communication between children and parents, and the level of family cohesion and adaptability according to the Circumplex Model by D. H. Olson et al., modifi es children’s emotional reactions associated with the tasks performed. The study covered 192 children aged 12-13, whose parents were running a family farm. Growing up in a healthy family characterised by a balanced level of cohesion, adaptability and good communication with the father and mother, favours the occurrence in children of pleasant emotions in reaction to work which they undertake on behalf of their parents on a farm. In such families, more often than in families with bad communication and dysfunctional families (disengaged, rigid), children experience satisfaction, have a feeling of deepening bonds with their parents, and the feeling of being more adult and preparing themselves well for adult life. Family characteristics which are evidence of disorders in its functioning (lack of good communication with the father, mother, lack of bonds between family members, rigid, chaos in a family) co-occur with the child experiencing unpleasant emotional states in associated with the work performed, there occur feelings of dissatisfaction, unhappiness, unpleasantness, the feeling that it would be better to learn than to work.

Wykorzystywanie seksualne dzieci w cyberprzestrzeni, w tym obecność treści będących wizualnym zapisem czynów zabronionych popełnionych na ich szkodę, to problem globalny. Walka z tym problemem jest skuteczna wtedy, gdy zaangażowane w nią podmioty korzystają w sposób systemowy z dostępnych rozwiązań technologicznych. Dotyczy to przede wszystkim tych rozwiązań, dzięki którym możliwa jest szybka weryfikacja, czy potencjalnie nielegalne treści zostały wcześniej sklasyfikowane jako przedstawiające wykorzystywanie seksualne dzieci (ang. Child Sexual Abuse Material, dalej: CSAM), jak również komunikacja pomiędzy podmiotami mającymi dostęp do takich treści w ramach wykonywanych obowiązków. Niniejsze opracowanie ma na celu przybliżenie rozwiązań i narzędzi stosowanych w tym obszarze, zarówno na poziomie międzynarodowym, jak i krajowym, oraz przedstawienie propozycji podejścia systemowego, które przyczyni się do zwiększenia efektywności aktualnych rozwiązań w powyższym zakresie, na poziomie krajowym.
Sexual exploitation and abuse of children in cyberspace, including the presence of content that is a visual record of criminal acts committed against them, is a global problem. The fight against this problem is effective when the actors involved make systemic use of the available technological solutions. This applies in particular to solutions that allow for a quick verification of whether potentially illegal content has been previously classified as Child Sexual Abuse Material (hereinafter: CSAM), as well as to communication between persons accessing such content in the course of their duties. This study aims to provide an overview of solutions and tools used in this area, both internationally and nationally, and to propose a systemic approach that will contribute to the effectiveness of current solutions in the above area at national level.

Artykuł obejmuje rozważania dotyczące podmiotów zobligowanych i uprawnionych do wychowania dziecka na podstawie obowiązującego Kodeksu Prawa Kanonicznego z 1983 roku. Celem artykułu jest przybliżenie czytelnikowi danej tematyki poprzez analizę norm kodeksowych oraz wskazanie, które z podmiotów odpowiadają za proces wychowawczy dziecka. Na wstępie dokonano próby zdefiniowania pojęcia „dziecko”. Prawodawca kościelny poprzez „dziecko” rozumie małoletniego przed ukończeniem siódmego roku życia, które nie mają zdolności rozumnego działania. Inne definicje przedstawiane są w słowniku pedagogicznym, stojące w sprzeczności z nauką Kościoła. W prawie polskim legalna definicja przedstawiona jest w Ustawie o Rzeczniku Praw Dziecka, na jej podstawie dzieckiem jest to każda istota ludzka od poczęcia do osiągnięcia pełnoletniości. Kolejno określono termin „wychowanie”, wskazując świeckie definicje. Ostatnia część dotyczyć będzie głównej analizy norm kodeksowych odwołujących się do podmiotów odpowiadające za wychowanie dziecka. Wskazano tu rodziców jako podstawowa komórka społeczna, pełniący obowiązki rodziców przy pomocy władz państwowych, Kościół oraz szkołę. Całość rozważań zostanie zakończone podsumowaniem, w którym zawarte zostaną wnioski de lege lata i de lege feranda na podstawie analizowanych dokumentów Magisterium Ecclesiae.
The article includes considerations about the entities obliged and entitled to raise a child on the basis of the Code of Canon Law of 1983 in force. The aim of the article is to familiarize the reader with a given topic by analyzing the code norms and indicating which entities are responsible for the child's educational process. At the outset, attempts were made to define the term "child". The ecclesiastical legislator by "child" means a minor before the age of seven who does not have the ability to act rationally. Other definitions are presented in the pedagogical dictionary, contrary to the teaching of the Church. In Polish law, the legal definition is presented in the Act on the Ombudsman for Children, on the basis of which, a child is every human being from conception to the age of majority. The term "upbringing" was successively specified, indicating secular definitions. The last part will concern the main analysis of code norms referring to entities responsible for the upbringing of a child. Parents are indicated here as the basic social unit, fulfilling the duties of parents with the help of state authorities, the church and the school. The whole discussion will end with a summary, which will include conclusions de lege lata and de lege feranda based on the analyzed documents of Magisterium Ecclesiae.

The aim of the article is to examine whether the member states of the European Union guarantee children in poverty the right to specific means of equal opportunities as guaranteed by the European pillar of social rights. A strategy for counteracting poverty based on the A. Giddens’s concept of the ‘social investment state’ was created in the EU. According to this concept, the state should support most of all these social groups which guarantee the highest social advantages. Following this idea, the union strategy for fighting poverty emphasizes the necessity of investing in children from early years of their lives. According to the social investment paradigm adopted by the European Commission, a crucial role in strategies for counteracting child poverty plays early childhood education and care.

The scope of the article is to discuss the issue of the parents sharing the information about their children in social media. Basing on literature and researches review, the scale of sharenting phenomenon was introduced. Its different types were discussed and its chosen legal, ethical and social aspects were characterized. The risks (i.e. identity theft and exposing children to cyberviolence) and rewards (i.e. sharing the experience, seeking and providing support) of such parents’ activity in the Internet were presented as well. Sharenting generates dilemmas connected with finding the balance between the parents’ right to express freely and the child’s right to have privacy, dignity and identity. There is a need of educational actions, directed to both parents and society, about the children’s security and safety of their privacy in the Internet.

The article addresses the subject of social and cultural inequalities in relation to the situation of children in degraded spaces of selected courtyards in one of the smallest housing estates in Wrocław, Poland, Przedmieście Oławskie. The aim of the research was to diagnose and describe the specific situation of these children and to analyse it in the context of Pierre Bourdieu’s concept of reproducing cultural capital. The first part presents theoretical threads relevant for further interpretations and covers the concepts of marginalisation and reproduction of cultural capital as perceived in P. Bourdieu`s theories. The second part discusses the methodology of qualitative research, embedded in an interpretive paradigm and based on: ethnographicresearch strategy, the approach to research with children and the mosaic approach. The third part presents the results of research showing the specificity of the physical and socio-cultural environment of the studied courtyards. On the one hand, the dimensions of its marginalisation and the processes proving the reproduction of poor cultural capital were indicated; on the other hand, examples of artistic interventions in this type of marginalised environment were presented as exemplifications of breaking the mechanisms of cultural reproduction.

The subject of this paper as an analysis of the permissibility of using a picture of a small child and a publication of such a picture, which may only be allowed if the child welfare has been protected. An attempt is made to answer the question whether a consent granted by a representative of a state authority to publish a picture of a child, an infant, or a newborn baby in particular, may amount to an act contrary to child welfare. The deliberations of the paper include issues such as using a picture of a human being from foetal life, or parents placing a picture of their small child on a social network page.
Przedmiotem artykułu jest analiza zagadnienia dopuszczalności posługiwania się wizerunkiem małego dziecka oraz dopuszczalności publikowania tego wizerunku w taki sposób, by działania te nie godziły w zasadę dobra dziecka. Autorka podejmuje próbę udzielenia odpowiedzi na pytanie, czy wyrażenie przez przedstawiciela ustawowego zgody na publikację wizerunku małego dziecka, w szczególności noworodka i niemowlęcia, może być postrzegane jako działanie sprzeczne z dobrem dziecka. Rozważania obejmują problematykę wykorzystania wizerunku człowieka z czasu jego życia płodowego oraz wykorzystania wizerunku małego dziecka przez rodziców przez umieszczanie go na portalach społecznościowych.

Teksty liturgiczne pogrzebu dzieci, zawarte w Mszale rzymskim, nie skupiają się tylko na samym zmarłym dziecku. W dużej ich części można dostrzec znaczącą pozycję rodziców i krewnych. Ponieważ Kościół troszczy się nie tylko o zmarłych, którzy już ukończyli ziemską wędrówkę do „Domu Ojca”, ale ma na względzie szczególnie wciąż będących w drodze do nieba, teksty liturgii pogrzebowej pamiętają o jednych i drugich. Teksty liturgiczne ukazują nadzieję spotkania w wieczności. Miłosierdzie potrzebne jest nie tyle zmarłemu dziecku, co raczej doświadczającym straty rodzicom.
Liturgical texts of children funeral contained in the Roman Missal, do not focus only on a deceased child. The significant parents’ and relatives’ role can be seen in its large part. As the Church is concerned not only about the deceased, who have already completed their earthly path to “the Father’s House”, but it takes into consideration in particular those who are still on their way to heaven, therefore funeral liturgy texts remember both (the deceased and the living). Liturgical texts present hope to meet in eternity. Mercy is needed not so much the deceased child, but rather its parents experiencing loss.

Primary infection with Pneumocystis jirovecii in small children may cause inflammation of the respiratory tract which requires hospitalization. Lack of characteristic clinical symptoms makes it impossible to recognize P. jirovecii infections without performing laboratory analyses. Nasopharyngeal swabs from 70 children with respiratory tract infections were screened for fragments of the P. jirovecii genome. Pneumocystis DNA was found in swabs taken from two (2.9%) of the tested children: a newborn who was infected in the hospital and a six month old baby admitted to hospital two days after pneumonia was diagnosed. The obtained results confirm that primary P. jirovecii infections may occur in the form of acute respiratory tract inflammations suggesting a viral infection. In differential diagnosis of Pneumocystis infections in children molecular methods are useful as their high sensitivity makes it possible to analyze samples obtained in a non-invasive way.

Background. Calcium is one of the most important minerals for the human body which is essential for healthy bones and teeth. Vitamin D has hormone-like properties in the human body. It is supplied with the diet, but it is also synthesized by the body under exposure to UV radiation. Vitamin D controls calcium and phosphorus metabolism and is responsible for bone modeling and mineralization. Objective. The objective of this study was to evaluate eating habits and food preferences of school-age children meet the demand for calcium and vitamin D, and estimate the frequency of consumption of foods rich in these nutrients. Material and methods. A total of 197 parents of 7- to 9-year-olds attending randomly selected primary schools in Lublin and Świdnik were asked to fill out a questionnaire designed by the authors. The results were processed by the Chi-squared test in the Excel application. Results. Considerable differences in the consumption of milk and dairy products were observed between age groups. In the group of 7-year-olds, 57.5% of children drank milk and ate dairy products at least once a day, whereas in the group of 9-year-olds, only 16.6% of children ate dairy products at least once a day. The intake of foods rich in vitamin D was equally low among the surveyed children. Conclusions. School-age children may be at risk of calcium and vitamin D deficiencies due to low consumption of milk, dairy products and fish, and inadequate vitamin D supplementation. Parents should be educated about nutrition to change the family’s eating habits.
Wprowadzenie. Wapń jest składnikiem mineralnym niezbędnym do prawidłowego funkcjonowania organizmu, jest podstawowym materiałem budulcowym kości i zębów. Witamina D w organizmie ludzkim ma właściwości hormonu, jej źródło stanowią światło słoneczne, pokarm, suplementacja. Pełni bardzo ważną funkcję w organizmie człowieka, wpływa regulująco na gospodarkę wapniowo-fosforanową oraz modelowanie i mineralizację kości. Cel. Celem badań była ocena nawyków i preferencji żywieniowych dzieci szkolnych pod kątem pokrycia zapotrzebowania na wapń i witaminę D oraz ocena częstości spożycia produktów bogatych w te składniki odżywcze. Materiał i metody. Badania przeprowadzono za pomocą autorskiego kwestionariusza ankiety wśród 197 rodziców dzieci w wieku 7-9 lat uczęszczających do losowo wybranych szkół podstawowych w Lublinie i Świdniku. Przeprowadzono analizę otrzymanych wyników testem chi-kwadrat oraz w programie Excel. Wyniki. Zauważono znaczące różnice w spożyciu mleka i jego przetworów pomiędzy grupami wiekowymi. Wśród 7 latków 57,5 % dzieci piło mleko i spożywało produkty mleczne co najmniej raz dziennie, natomiast w grupie 9 latków tylko 16,6% dzieci przynajmniej 1 raz w ciągu dnia spożywało produkt nabiałowy. Stwierdzono również niską konsumpcję produktów będących źródłem witaminy D. Wnioski. Dzieci w wieku szkolnym mogą stanowić grupę ryzyka zagrożoną występowaniem niedoborów wapnia i witaminy D, co jest konsekwencją niskiego spożycia mleka i produktów mlecznych, ryb oraz brakiem odpowiedniej suplementacji witaminą D. Konieczna jest edukacja żywieniowa rodziców prowadząca do zmiany sposobu żywienia w rodzinie.

Artykuł jest próbą dokonania oceny wpływu bajki na proces wychowania dziecka. Celem pracy było poznanie opinii rodziców na temat roli bajek w wychowaniu dzieci w wieku przedszkolnym. Do pozyskania danych wykorzystano metodę sondażu diagnostycznego, technikę ankietowania, a narzędziem badawczym była autorska ankieta. Badanie zrealizowano w czerwcu 2019 roku wśród 24 rodziców, których dzieci uczęszczają do grupy maluchów (3 -, 4-latków) do Publicznego Przedszkola w Kunowie. Najczęściej dzieci spędzają od godziny do 3 godzin przed telewizorem (68%). 92% badanych rodziców czyta bajki swoim dzieciom, 79% z nich uważa, że jest to dobry sposób na rozwój wyobraźni dziecka i czerpania wzorców zachowań. 67,5% rozmawia z dziećmi o wartościach czytanych i oglądanych bajek. Wg 54,5% zauważalne są widoczne zmiany w zachowaniu dziecka po przeczytaniu lub obejrzeniu bajki. 88% potwierdziło, że bajki mają pozytywny wpływ na rozwój poznawczy, 96% na rozwój moralny dziecka.
The article is an attempt to assess the impact of fairy tales on the process of raising a child. The purpose of the thesis was to find out the parents' opinions about the role of fairy tales in raising children in preschool age. To obtain the data, the diagnostic survey method and the survey technique were used and the author's survey was the research tool. The study was conducted in June 2019 among 24 parents whose children attend a group of toddlers (3-4 years old) in the Kindergarten in Kunów. Most often children spend 1-3 hours watching TV (68%). According to the survey, 92% of parents read fairy tales to their children, 79% of them believe that this is a good way to develop their child's imagination and to learn patterns of behaviour. 67.5% talk to children about the values of read and watched fairy tales. 54.5% claim that there are noticeable changes in the child's behaviour after reading or watching a story. 88% confirmed that fairy tales have a positive impact on cognitive development, 96% on children's moral development.

The aim of this article is to present the activities of the Child Protection Centre (COD) in the field of protection of children and adolescents from sexual abuse. COD is an interdepartmental unit operating at the Jesuit University Ignatianum in Krakow. The primary tasks of COD include training and educational activities in the psychological, pedagogical and spiritual fields on the subject of CSA, and the design and development of prevention programmes and models of good practice for various pastoral, formative and educational environments. The Child Protection Centre focuses on preparing and building structures for the effective implementation of the policies for the protection of children and young people, and on working to change the awareness not only of the clergy but also of people associated with the Church. The activities undertaken by the Child Protection Centre focus mainly on universal prevention, the basic aim of which is to stop potential perpetrators from harming children and to protect children – potential victims – from abuse.

Primary infection with Pneumocystis jirovecii in small children may cause inflammation of the respiratory tract which requires hospitalization. Lack of characteristic clinical symptoms makes it impossible to recognize P. jirovecii infections without performing laboratory analyses. Nasopharyngeal swabs from 70 children with respiratory tract infections were screened for fragments of the P. jirovecii genome. Pneumocystis DNA was found in swabs taken from two (2.9%) of the tested children: a newborn who was infected in the hospital and a six month old baby admitted to hospital two days after pneumonia was diagnosed. The obtained results confirm that primary P. jirovecii infections may occur in the form of acute respiratory tract inflammations suggesting a viral infection. In differential diagnosis of Pneumocystis infections in children molecular methods are useful as their high sensitivity makes it possible to analyze samples obtained in a non-invasive way.

The aim of the article is to evaluate the draft of a new Family Code developed by the Social Codification Commission for Family and Guardianship Law attached to the Children’s Rights Ombudsman with regard to the advisability and legitimacy of the changes proposed in it, as well as to analyse its selected detailed solutions in the context of their impact on the protection of the child’s welfare. The aforemen tioned detailed issues concern, among others, the issues of parental custody and material and legal grounds for divorce. The proposed changes, namely the replacement of the institution of parental custody with “parental responsibility” and the introduction of a new divorce premise are perceived by the authors of the article as clearly negative. The authors of the article are also critical of the procedure of preparation of the discussed draft. In their opinion, the applicable Family and Guardianship Code is not an anachronistic legal act and can and should continue to play the role of a basic regulator of legal and family relations in our country. The proposal to replace it with a new code is not sufficiently justified, either legally or socially, and its adoption may prove to be dangerous for the stability of the legal and family regula tions, shaped by the latest amendments to family law and contrary to the principle of protection of the best interests of the child.

Biblijna pedagogika dziecka ma swoje cele i zadania edukacyjne. Stawia dziecko w centrum odziaływań edukacyjnych, podkreślając jego godność i podmiotowość. Rodzice i wychowawcy cieszą się szczególnym autorytetem, stąd ze strony dzieci wymaga się szacunku (czci) i posłuszeństwa, podporządkowania i karności. Podobnie od rodziców wymaga się służebnej miłości i odpowiedzialności, kompetencji, uważnej troski i czułości. Pierwszym i podstawowym środowiskiem wychowawczym jest dom rodzinny, a inne ośrodki i instytucje edukacyjne – w oparciu o zasadę pomocniczości – mogą go wspierać w wypełnianiu tego fundamentalnego prawa i obowiązku. Pismo Święte nie jest podręcznikiem wychowania, gdyż przede wszystkim jest księgą natchnioną – księgą wiary. Biblia ma jednak swoją wartość edukacyjną, nie tylko ze względu na swoje walory literackie i historyczne, ale nade wszystko dlatego, że jest księgą Ducha Świętego, który „wszystkiego [nas] nauczy” (J 14,26). On też prowadzi do dojrzałości tych, którzy pragną żyć nowym życiem dzieci Bożych w Chrystusie, którego przyjmują z wiarą. Uważna lektura Pisma Świętego stanowi więc cenne źródło nauczania oraz duchową inspirację dla teologii wychowania (KO 24).
The biblical pedagogy of a child has its own educational goals and tasks. It places the child in the center of educational impact, emphasizing its dignity and subjectivity. Parents and educators enjoy special authority, with regards to whom children are required to show respect (honor) and obedience, subjection and discipline. Similarly, parents are expected to have servant love and responsibility, competence, attentive care and tenderness. The first and basic educational environment is the family home, while other educational centers and institutions – based on the principle of subsidiarity – can support them in fulfilling this fundamental right and obligation. The Bible is not a textbook of education, because it is primarily an inspired book, a book of faith. Still, it does have an educational value, not only because of its literary and historical value, but above all because it is the book of the Holy Spirit who “will teach [us] all things” (John 14:26). He also leads to the maturity of those who wish to live the new life of God’s children in Christ, whom they accept with faith. A careful reading of the Holy Bible is therefore a valuable source of teaching and a spiritual inspiration for theology of education (DV 24).

The selection of a child seat is not an easy task for future parents. Information about child seats, assembly methods, usability and prices affect the purchasing preferences of parents or legal guardians of children. The article contains information about the factors to pay attention to when buying a child seat. The main purpose of the article is to analyze and evaluate information on the selection of a vehicle seat for the right passenger vehicle and child. The article discusses information about the ADAC child seat crash test and the plus test, which are mainly performed for rear-facing child seats.The article presents information on groups of child seats and the method of their installation in a passenger vehicle. The purchasing predispositions of parents and legal guardians in terms of the selection of a child seat were also described. It should be noted that most respondents pay attention to the level of safety of child seats than to their price.

This article concerns changes in recovery the child support and other forms of family maintenance in Polish-American relations after entered into force Convention of 23 November 2007 on the International Recovery of Child Support and Other Forms of Family Maintenance for the United States (1st January 2017) . These changes primarily concern: cooperation between Polish and American Central Authorities, recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments, applications and required documents and legal assistance as well as costs . The 2007 Convention is a hope for maintenance creditors for more effective and faster enforcement of maintenance in the United States and the similarity to the provisions of the Regulation (EU) No 4/2009 gives a chance for unified global cooperation between States in recovery of maintenance, as well as constitutes facilitation for central authorities examining applications EU and non-EU States based on similar principles .

The problem of development of the forms of help being given to a child and family by local governments has been attracting the society's attention in Poland since the beginning of the 1990 s. The analyzed forms of family and child in local communities is only a certain element of the whole care and educational system aimed at achieving European standards. Short statistics of the described reports of the Ministry ofWork and Social Politics and the data of Santa Claus Fund have allowed the author to look into the development of these kinds of help operating in local communities over last decade. Describing the tasks of parish and district councils can differentiate after the legislator the most significant forms of care and support for families in children such as protected flats, specialized family guidance, special centers for families in crisis, day care homes, educational centers, community centers, social and therapeutic centers and clubs. The reformed system of child and family care in Poland is based on the development of family support and preventive actions that correspond with the international law and good practice standards and the main stream of changes in the countries- members of the European Union. The proposed contents are to get people acquainted with the issues of care, upbringing, support and professional assistance for a child and family in their environment.

The issues of education and upbringing in nobility families in the context of XVI and XVII century society, culture, education models and family traditions are discussed in the article. Selected models of everyday activities and games as well as methods of influence as employed by the teachers and guardians to foster the physical, morał, intellectual and social development of children are examined. Roles of the father and the mother as well as other relatives and teachers are described. The discussion of practices is supplemented by an analysis of the views on family education as held by the scholars of pedagogy during Restoration. These opinions contain guidelines regarding e.g. proper hygiene and diet, morality and virtues as well as the influence of the guardians on the child. Fun is one of children's activity form. From the half of the 19 century it has become an object of many research of educators, psychologists, historians. Fun played an important role in Polish society who was stripped of the personal state system. The topic of entertainment and things connected with toys was taken in social – cultural magazines of the Polish Kingdom in the second half of the19th century and it was also present in next century. The elaboration base of this work are chosen magazines: „Bluszcz”, „Literature feast” and “Family Chronicle”. On their columns, educational problems were discussed in detail, the case of proper child's was placed among it. Manner of spending free time of generation of young Poles could not be indifferent to the whole society. This article presents views of publicists concerning on the advised and criticized manners of spending free time. It also expresses opinions about adviced toys on the columns of press.

Contemporary studies on childhood suggest that a happy childhood constitutes a stable foundation allowing for a positive functioning in society. Background: Tuberculosis (TB) is a common public health problem and early diagnosis and treatment is important. Aim of the study: The aim was to evaluate complaints and radiological features, drug side effects, changes in radiological findings after treatment, and to evaluate the factors affecting this change in patients with pulmonary TB. Material and methods: One hundred patients with pulmonary TB were evaluated, and the following data recorded: age, gender, contact with TB patient, complaints, physical examination, tuberculin skin test, acid resistant bacillus, polymerase chain reaction and culture results, posteroanterior/lateral chest radiographs and thorax computed tomography findings at presentation and after treatment, treatment duration, and side effects. Treatment adherence and follow-up data were evaluated, and radiological findings before and after treatment were compared. In predicting radiological improvement, the effects of age, sex, duration of complaints, living in in rural/urban areas, treatment duration, treatment adherence, follow-up, and presence of cavitation were examined. Results: Mean age was 6.0 ± 4.2 years. 66 of the patients had contact history with TB patients. The most common complaint was cough, whilst infiltration and/or mediastinal lymphadenopathy were the most common findings in radiological examination at presentation. 84 patients were scheduled a treatment program for 6 months. Improvement in radiological findings were significantly better in patients who adhered to medication and follow-up protocols. Age, sex, complaint duration, living in rural/urban areas, treatment duration and presence of cavitation were not significantly associated with radiological improvement. Conclusions: Pulmonary TB should be considered in patients presenting with cough, even if their physical examination and chest radiographs are normal. Adherence to anti-tuberculosis treatment and follow-up were the most important factors in radiological improvement.

The text contains examples of the influence of parents on the advancement in the music education of their children. It analyzes statistics of research studies concerning the dependency between parental influence and careers of mature musicians. It deals with the influence of the family on the basic musical development of each child from the beginning of his life and human musical development. The article draws attention to anomalies in upbringing. Examples of artistic stimulation within family are shown.

The primary purpose of this study was to explore the association between individuals’ attachments to their mothers and fathers, and their subsequent attachments to partners, based on research conducted in Slovenia. Participants in the empirical study were antenuptial couples who attended the premarital counselling course organized by and offered through the Franciscan Family Institute in Ljubljana, Slovenia. In order to explore more fully the concept of attachment, the authors of the study focused on the following dimensions: trust, communication and estrangement. The results of the study showed greater similarities in the three identified dimensions to the way in which both women and men experience attachment to their mothers and partners, while there were marked differences in the subjects’ experience of attachment to their fathers.

In this paper, I focus on one of the children’s rights, which Janusz Korczak raised in his writings, namely the child’s right to the present day, which I understand as a postulate to appreciate the dignity of a child in its everyday life. My aim in this paper is, therefore, not only to reconstruct and uncover the complexities of this postulate, but also to theoretically embed this concept in pedagogical narratives about the child, and more specifically in anthropology of education and upbringing. In order to achieve this aim, 1. I will describe two paths in thinking about the relationship between human beings and their culture, taking into account especially its temporal dimension. Then I will proceed to 2. the concept of children’s rights in Korczak’s understanding of the child subjectivity; in order to indicate 3. the radical and ethical character of message his thinking.

The aim of this study was to analyze the causes of aggressive behaviors among children from rural areas, including the role of the environment. We used Pub Med and Google Scholar electronic databases for a literature review. Publications written in English and Polish were included in the analysis. The following keywords were used: aggression, children and adolescents, rural areas. Aggression is a type of negative behavior with the intent to harm or destroy. It usually arises as a direct or delayed effect of frustration or deprivation. The place of residence strongly affects the determinants of risky behaviors in children and adolescents. The most common risk factors for violence among rural children and adolescents include improper parental conduct, failures at school, health-threatening behaviors, violent scenes seen by young people in television programs and films. The changes currently transpiring in rural areas to the traditional family model and increased access to media determine the adoption of behaviors with elements of aggression; although it seems that in rural areas, these phenomena occur much more slowly than in cities. Thus far only a few studies indicated that aggression occurred more frequently among children and adolescents from rural areas. This phenomenon requires further research.

Introduction: In the literature on the problem of social support, besides family sources of support, (husband, wife, children, parents, siblings, relatives), a role of friends, acquaintances and neighbors is emphasized. Purpose: To assess types and level of support that parents receive from specific social groups. Materials and methods: The study included 108 mothers and 108 fathers of intellectually disabled children. We used the original questionnaire and the standardized scale of Social Support by KmiecikBaran. Results: There were differences between the parents in emotional support (standard deviation 3.519), the lowest in informative support (deviation 2.744). General support was poor in the opinion of 34.6% of the parents. Average institutional support related to 42.9% of the parents, strong evaluative support – 37.1% and strong emotional support – 41%. The parents received the strongest informative, institutional, evaluative and emotional support from nurses and physicians. Spouses of the examined gave them poor informative, emotional and institutional support and average evaluative support. Statistically, the fathers received significantly stronger evaluative and emotional support – by more than one point, and by more than 3 points in case of general support than mothers. Conclusions: The parents received average social support, however, it was below the average for the Polish adult population. The spouses gave them poor informative, emotional and institutional support and average evaluative support; teachers, physicians and nurses – average support in all categories, however, in case of the two latter – institutional and evaluative support was close to the above-average values. The fathers enjoyed moderately stronger evaluative, emotional and general support from teachers, physicians and nurses than mothers.

This article presents the issue of recruitment and use of children by adults as soldiers to armed struggle. Presents a picture of the modern world, including the countries, continents, in which children soldiers and rifle AK-47 as the living shields without name, dignity and personality reflect the life. Adults of this world of technology, space, nanotechnology use minors to fighting tribal, religious, narkotykotion, etc. Despite established international conventions on the rights of the child, the African Charter of the rights of the child, and the opposition of the public referred to resorts, countries still use thousands of children as soldiers who have become tools in the hands of adults.

In order to increase the child's safety when traveling in a passenger car, special child seats are used to minimize the child's injuries in a car accident. The aim of the article is to discuss the topic of design solutions for child seats. It should be noted that child seats are built in order to increase the safety of the transported child during a car accident. Child seats are crash-tested. Unfortunately, no tests related to vibration comfort are carried out. Undoubtedly, attention should be paid to the vertical vibrations that penetrate from the road surface, through the structure of the passenger car, to the seat of the child seat. Vibration comfort is particularly important in the case of long journeys. Because the current child seats on the market are adjusted only to the mass and age of the child. Choosing the right car seat is not a simple task. Not every child will feel comfortable in a seat adapted only to mass and age. The anthropometric dimensions of the child are of great importance. Therefore, more and more child seats are created that allow you to change the position of the backrest or seat in such a way as to ensure both the safety and comfort of the child during the journey.
