The article describes the idea of a change project (a new course) in higher education. The aim of the change project is to promote traditional conflict resolution mechanisms and strategies in order to ensure sustainable development in Africa. The new program will combine the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and various conflict resolution scenarios by applying the technique of design thinking. The program will involve discussions about types of conflicts in Africa, the real causes of these conflicts, mechanisms for peaceful conflict resolution (with special emphasis on the rakiré and the palaver tree) and design thinking. The author intends to implement the program at the Faculty of International Relations of the Ivan Franco National University in Lviv.

Przedmiot badań: Przedmiotem zainteresowania jest obszar zarządzania projektami przez parki naukowo-technologiczne w Polsce, w tym finansowanymi ze środków publicznych. Parki dotychczas były badane raczej w kontekście uwarunkowań historycznych ich funkcjonowania, charakterystyki i efektywności świadczonych usług oraz w aspekcie makroekonomicznym w szczególności w połączeniu z oceną wpływu interwencji publicznej środkami finansowymi UE, aniżeli w obszarze zarządzania projektami i odpowiadających im metodyk. W artykule dokonano analizy pojęciowej i funkcjonalnej parków jako instytucji otoczenia biznesu. Zaprezentowano wyniki badań empirycznych dotyczących identyfikacji stosowanych w parkach metodyk zarządzania projektami. Wskazano trzy modele służące do oceny organizacji pod kątem doboru optymalnej metodyki zarządzania projektami. Rezultaty badań mogą okazać się przydatne dla praktyki zarządzania projektami przez parki stanowiące element systemu innowacji w polityce rozwoju regionalnego w procesie dalszej ich profesjonalizacji. Cel badawczy: Przedstawienie dominującej metodyki zarządzania projektami w parkach naukowo-technologicznych stanowiących ośrodki innowacji w Polsce, a także wyjaśnienie wpływu na sposób zarządzania projektami (zmianą) w organizacji takich parametrów, jak kultura organizacyjna, zespoły oraz rodzaj projektów. Istotnym zagadnieniem wydaje się kwestia, w jaki sposób i jakim zestandaryzowanym narzędziem, bez względu na indywidualne cechy organizacji, można badać przyjęte w parkach metodyki i podejścia do zarządzania projektami wpływające na skuteczność i efektywność funkcjonowania całej organizacji. 1 Metoda badawcza: Własne badania ankietowe przeprowadzone metodą CAWI z kadrą kierowniczą parków objętych próbą badawczą z wykorzystaniem narzędzia Agile Suitability Filter Tools określonego w PMBoK® Guide 2017 badającego potencjał organizacji w trzech aspektach: kultura (struktura) – zespół (ludzie) – projekty. Zastosowano także analizę materiałów źródłowych, w tym porównawczą przepisów prawnych odnoszących się do parków i źródeł finansowania projektów. Wyniki: W parkach przeważa zwinne (agile) podejście do zarządzania projektami. Jednakże ze względu na specyfikę parków jako organizacji typu not-for-profit oraz na realizowane przez nie projekty, źródła i zasady ich finansowania postuluje się dostosowanie metodyki zarządzania projektami do odpowiednich rodzajów projektów, wewnętrznych możliwości organizacji oraz warunków określonych przez jej otoczenie zewnętrzne, w tym instytucje UE, krajowe lub regionalne dofinansowujące projekty ze środków publicznych.
Background: The research is focused on the project management process in the science and technology parks (STP) in Poland, including projects financed by public funds. STP have so far been described in the context of historical conditions of their activity, features, and efficiency of the services they provide, as well as in the macroeconomic aspect, particularly in connection with the assessment of the impact of public intervention by EU funds, rather than in the area of project management and their appropriate methodologies. A conceptual and functional analysis of STP as business supporting institutions was performed. The results of the author’s empirical research on identification of project management methodologies used in STP were presented. Three models concerning the methods of organizational evaluation in relation to the selection of the appropriate project management methodology were pointed out. Research results may prove useful for the practice of project management into the STP that are a part of the innovation system in regional development policy and to make them more professional. Research purpose: The aim of this paper is to present the dominant methodology of project management in STP that belong to the innovation centres in Poland, as well as to clarify the impact of the following factors on changing the organizational management structure: organizational culture, teams, and types of projects undertaken. An important issue seems to be how and with what standardized tool, regardless of the individual features of the organization, is used to examine the project management methodologies and approaches implemented in the STP, affecting the effectiveness and efficiency of the whole organization. Methods: The survey carried out on the basis of CAWI with CEOs of the STP as a research sample using the Agile Suitability Filter Tools specified in the PMBoK® Guide 2017 that examine the capability of organizations in their three aspects: culture (structure) – team (people) – projects. An analysis of reference materials and documentation was also applied, including comparative analysis of legal provisions relating to STP and project financing sources. Conclusions: The agile project management approach is predominant in STP. However, the specificity of STP as a not-for-profit organization and the projects they implement specially determines their rules and sources of funding for projects. As such, it is postulated that the project management methodology should be adapted, both to the appropriate types of projects, internal capabilities of the organization as well as the conditions determined by its external environment, including the principles for implementation of projects co-financed by EU, national or regional bodies from public contribution as well.

Opis:
Trees4Future is an Integrative European Research Infrastructure project that aims to integrate, develop and improve major Forest Genetics and Forestry Research Infrastructures. It will provide the wider European forestry research community with easy and comprehensive access to currently scattered sources of information (including genetic databanks, forest modelling tools and wood technology labs) and associated expertise. This will help forestry researchers and the European forestry sector to respond, in a sustainable manner, to increasing demands for wood products and services in the context of genetic adaptation and changing climatic conditions. It will create a new and better linked Research Infrastructure that will optimize the short- and long-term exploitation of forest resources by increasing knowledge of, for example, the adaptation of forests to climate change, and the tree characteristics suitable for a tailor-made wood supply.
Trees4Future to projekt scalania europejskiej infrastruktury badawczej, którego celem jest zintegrowanie, rozwijanie i ulepszanie ważniejszych infrastruktór w obszarze genetyki lasów i badań w leśnictwie. Zapewni to szerszej społeczności europejskich naukowców, zajmujących się lasami, łatwy i pełny dostęp do obecnie rozproszonych źródeł informacji (w tym banków danych genetycznych, narzędzi modelowania lasów i laboratoriów zajmujących się technologią drewna) i towarzyszącej im specjalistycznej wiedzy. Pomoże to zarówno naukowcom zajmującym się leśnictwem, jak i europejskiemu sektorowi leśno-drzewnemu odpowiedni reagować na rosnący popyt na produkty drzewne i usługi, w kontekście adaptacji genetycznej i zmieniających się warunków klimatycznych. Stworzy to nową, lepiej powiązaną infrastrukturę badawczą, która zaoptymalizuje krótkoi długookresowe wykorzystywanie zasobów leśnych poprzez polepszenie znajomości, na przykład adaptacji lasów do zmian klimatycznych oraz cech drzew odpowiednich z punktu widzenia podaży drewna uwzględniającej wymagania klientów.

The aim of the article is to present evolution in change management models and the need of redesigning the current change management concepts with the use of organisational network analysis. Synthesis and New Conception of North Sea Research (SYCON) is the title of a German project carried out from 1998–2000 under the leadership of Hamburg University1. It was accompanied by an international advisory board and covered North Sea issues as well as the general challenges to shelf sea research and sustainable management under global change. Particular emphasis was placed on the interdisciplinary analysis of comprehensive areas of knowledge: the data situation, understanding of processes, model development, instruments and methods, understanding of the system. Based on this, perspectives for future North Sea research were developed. The project produced a synthesis report, eleven monodisciplinary reports and an illustrated brochure for the general public (see Annex 1, this paper, p. 258).

Artykuł dotyczy postaw pracowników wobec zróżnicowania wiekowego w zespołach i organizacjach. W literaturze podkreśla się, że czynnikiem warunkującym efektywność takich zespołów są m.in. postawy pracowników wobec osób z innych grup wiekowych oraz wobec pracy z nimi, a ocena postaw pracowników jest niezbędna do wykorzystania właściwych metod zarządzania takim zespołem. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie wyników badań dotyczących postaw pracowników wobec zróżnicowania wiekowego, przeprowadzonych w pierwszym etapie projektu Best Agers Lighthouses – Strategic Age Management for SME in the Baltic Sea Region. Wyniki badań pozwoliły na ocenę potrzeb i gotowości do wdrożenia działań związanych z zarządzaniem zróżnicowaniem wiekowym w badanych organizacjach.
The issue of employees’ attitudes towards age diversity in teams and organizations is discussed in the article. The literature emphasizes that the factor determining the effectiveness of such teams is employees’ attitudes towards people from different age groups and towards collaboration with them. The assessment of employees’ attitudes is essential to employ appropriate methods to manage such teams. The aim of the paper is to present the results of research on employees’ attitudes toward Age Diversity conducted in the first phase of the Best Agers Lighthouses Project – Strategic Age Management for SME in the Baltic Sea Region. The results of the research allowed to assess the needs and readiness to implement Age Diversity Management in the Organizations surveyed.

Opis:
Abilities to adaptation for changes, readiness to completion, changing qualifactions is becoming important in the contexts of intensifying changes in different areas of our life. Article is raport of resarch which aims to find answer to a question: what is the level of readiness for changes between students. The measure was realized with the use of quantity strategy of research. The methods of diagnostic survey and questionnaire of readiness for changes by Robert Kriegel and David Brandt (translated by Anna Paszkowskiej-Rogacz) were used in research. The form consists of 35 items describing: beliefs, attitude and behaviours in diffrent everyday life situations. Respondents give an answer with the use of 6-degree scale. Thanks to this we can identify seven following features: creativity, drive and passion, self-confidence, optimism, taking a risk, adaptation skills and tolerance of insecurity. The participants of the research were students taking part in the project UNI-KOMP-AS from humanistic-social faculties. The results show that respondents present high level of readiness for changes. Respondents have positive opinion of surrounding reality (89,1%). They claim that failures don’t demotivate them. They draw conclusions for the future. They accept the possibility of new elements showing in their tasks. Majority of respondents present that they take the day as it is.
Umiejętność przystosowania się do zmian, gotowość do uzupełniania, zmieniania wykształcenia staje się ważna w kontekście nasilenia przemian w różnych dziedzinach naszego życia. Artykuł jest raportem z badań, w których szukano odpowiedzi na pytanie o poziom gotowości do zmian wśród studentów. Pomiar został zrealizowany z wykorzystaniem strategii ilościowej. Badania zostały przeprowadzone za pomocą metody sondażu diagnostycznego. Do prowadzonych badań wykorzystano Kwestionariusz gotowości do zmiany autorstwa Roberta Kriegela i Davida Brandta, w tłumaczeniu Anny Paszkowskiej-Rogacz. Formularz zawiera 35 twierdzeń opisujących przekonania, postawy i zachowania dotyczące różnych sytuacji życiowych. Badany odpowiada, korzystając z sześciostopniowej skali. Umożliwia to identyfikację siedmiu następujących cech: pomysłowości, napędu, pewności siebie, optymizmu, podejmowania ryzyka, zdolności adaptacyjnych i tolerancji niepewności. W projekcie UNI-KOMP-AS brali udział studenci kierunków humanistyczno-społecznych. Wyniki pokazują, że respondenci wykazują wysoki poziom gotowości do zmiany. Pozytywnie interpretują otaczającą ich rzeczywistość (89,1%). Deklarują, że niepowodzenia nie działają na nich demotywująco. Wyciągają z nich wnioski na przyszłość. Akceptują możliwość pojawienia się nowych i nieprzewidzianych sytuacji w trakcie realizacji powierzonego im zadania. Większość badanych wykazuje, że żyje chwilą.

W artykule opisano sposób obsługi zmian w dokumentacji technicznej wykorzystując teorię obsługi masowej. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na zagadnienia dotyczące nanoszenia zmian na rysunkach i powiadamianie o zmianach. Opisany sposób postępowania może usprawnić realizację przedsięwzięć budowlanych oraz ułatwić wdrożenie normy PN-ISO10006:2002, w której główną uwagę zwraca się na proces zarządzania zmianą.
This paper describes the method of handling changes in technical documentation, using the theory of mass handling. Particular attention is drawn to issues relating to the making of changes to drawings, and to the giving of notification of changes. The procedure described may improve the efficient execution of building projects and facilitate implementation of the PN-ISO10006:2002 standard, in which the key focus is on the process of change management.

Przedmiotem rozważań opisanych w niniejszym artykule jest optymalizacja typowej, przemysłowej przekładni zębatej. Przeanalizowano zaprojektowane trzy przekładnie trójstopniowe o zębach prostych, skośnych i daszkowych, o możliwie najmniejszych gabarytach, mających możliwość przeniesienia moc do 7,5 kW przy prędkości obrotowej 1500 obr/min i przełożeniu i = 52. Wykonano analizę techniczno-ekonomiczną w celu ograniczenia jej gabarytów oraz oszacowania kosztów wykonania przekładni z kołami o różnych liniach kształtu zęba. Wyniki analiz opracowano w formie tabelarycznej. Na podstawie wykonanych obliczeń wskazano rodzaj najbardziej optymalnego rozwiązania konstrukcyjnego.
The subject of the considerations described in this article is a typical optimization, industrial change-gear trains. Examined the designed three stage change-gear trains with spur gear, screw teeth, herringbone (conical) teeth, the smallest possible dimensions, with the possibility of transferring power to 7,5 kW at a rotational speed 1500 rpm and gear ratio i = 52. Technical-economic analysis was performed in order to reduce its dimensions and estimate the costs of gear wheels of different shape lines of the tooth.. The results of the analyses developed in tabular form. Based on calculations made indicated the type of most optimal design.

Opis:
Purpose: The construction industry has one of the most important roles in any countries economy, despite of that, construction projects remain under the spotlight when compared to other industries projects due to its special nature and scope, with their increase of complexity which by default increases the amount of changes occurring therefore rising the risks of low performance, which is already an issue in the sector, construction management is facing more challenges than ever, this research paper was carried out in order to provide possible alternatives for the traditional way of managing construction projects. Design/Methodology/Approach: A literature review was carried out exploring the necessities of implementing agile management in the field in order to coop with the increasing complexity and uncertainty of construction projects therefore increasing the overall performance, alongside identifying the potentials and limitations of such an approach. Findings: As a result it was found that a tailored approach could be the answer to improve the whole sector and bring it up to date, using an integration of various methods of lean and agile management with traditional waterfall method, the agile management tools do show promising potential for the dynamic project nature which shows the importance of such an implementation. Originality/Value: This paper provides cognitive scientific value by adding needed knowledge in a relatively immature research area for the practical development of one of the largest industries.

W artykule wskazano i omówiono główne czynniki powodujące konieczność odstępstw od projektu na etapie wykonywania sieci wodociągowych i kanalizacyjnych. Najczęściej występujące odstępstwa związane są z opóźnieniem realizacji inwestycji w stosunku do jej zaprojektowania, problemami związanymi z uzyskaniem prawa do dysponowania nieruchomością na cele budowlane, błędami projektowymi czy nieaktualnymi podkładami mapowymi. Część odstępstw dokonywana jest na prośby i wnioski gestorów sieci. Chociaż przepisy prawne dopuszczają możliwość odstępstw, dzieląc je na istotne i nieistotne, to każda zmiana utrudnia i opóźnia wykonanie prac. Analiza czynników odpowiedzialnych za odstępstwa od projektu na etapie wykonawstwa wskazuje, że możliwe jest wyeliminowanie lub ograniczenie części z nich.
The article indicates and discusses the main factors causing the need for deviations from the project at the stage of execution of water supply and sewage systems. The most common derogations are associated with delayed implementation of the investment in relation to its design, problems with obtaining the right to use the property for construction purposes, design errors or outdated maps. A part of derogations is made on the requests and applications of the administrators of the network. Although the regulations allow for the possibility of derogations, dividing them into relevant and irrelevant, every change hinders and delays the execution of works. The analysis of the factors responsible for departure from the design at the execution stage indicates that it is possible to eliminate or reduce some of them.
