Opis:

The article investigates grammatical means with the help of which the categorical opposition of telicity/ atelicity is expressed in the Russian and Polish languages with the projection on the mental characteristics of their speakers. Grammatical category of aspect is put in the center of the investigation, with the help of which the internal time as qualitative characteristics of action performance is expressed, as against to the external time which is expressed by grammatical meanings of the category of verb tense. It is asserted that the prevalence of telic verbs in speech practice of the Russian and Polish languages proves the importance of the quality of an action, bringing an action to possible endpoint for the Slavic people.

Opis:

The categorical concept of a theory for algebras of a given type was foundet by Lawvere in 1963 (see [8]). Hoehnke extended this concept to partial heterogenous algebras in 1976 (see [5]). A partial theory is a dhts-category such that the object class forms a free algebra of type (2,0,0) freely generated by a nonempty set J in the variety determined by the identities ox ≈ o and xo ≈ o, where o and i are the elements selected by the 0-ary operation symbols.
If the object class of a dhts-category forms even a monoid with unit element I and zero element O, then one has a strict partial theory.
In this paper is shown that every J-sorted partial theory corresponds in a natural manner to a J-sorted strict partial theory via a strongly d-monoidal functor. Moreover, there is a pair of adjoint functors between the category of all J-sorted theories and the category of all corresponding J-sorted strict theories.
This investigation needs an axiomatic characterization of the fundamental properties of the category Par of all partial function between arbitrary sets and this characterization leads to the concept of dhts- and dhth∇s-categories, respectively (see [5], [11], [13]).

Opis:

The article presents theoretical considerations concerning the relationship between the original text and the texts of translations with the use of the cognitive categorization model. From the perspective of the theory of prototypes, translation studies can be conducted at the general level of texts: the source and the target and at the detailed level: translation units and their translation equivalents. The structure of a category will depend on the researcher’s intuition and their decision to choose the unit in the center of the category under consideration. The aim of the paper is to propose several new categorization models, reflecting the various possibilities of building a category of translations with a central-peripheral structure at the level of the texts as a whole. This is due to the consideration of whether and in what sense the original text can be perceived as a prototype in relation to the translation text? In the center of the translation category, it is possible, for example, to place an ideal translation of the original, potential or actually existing in the host culture. The central-peripheral structure of translation category may also be useful in presenting the results of the translator’s decision-making process regarding the selection of a translation equivalent, as well as in the process of critical analysis of various translation solutions, especially in translation series, which, however, is beyond the scope of the present article.

This paper analyses the category of gender for nouns borrowed into Polish and Russian languages. Empirical base for the research are lexemes borrowed from Greek and Latin languages with or without intermediary function of the Western European languages. The units are divided according to symmetry and asymmetry occurring within this category. The research has identified the most characteristic manners and models in which borrowings have adapted in other languages as well as some mechanisms of gender classification with reference to trends and principles found in both systems. It also indicates some trends in gender classification for the most recently adapted borrowings.

“Is logic a physical variable?” This thought-provoking question was put forward by Michael Heller during the public lecture “Category Theory and Mathematical Structures of the Universe” delivered on 30th March 2017 at the National Quantum Information Center in Sopot. It touches upon the intimate relationship between the foundations of physics, mathematics and philosophy. To address this question one needs a conceptual framework, which is on the one hand rigorous and, on the other hand capacious enough to grasp the diversity of modern theoretical physics. Category theory is here a natural choice. It is not only an independent, well-developed and very advanced mathematical theory, but also a holistic, process-oriented way of thinking.

This paper explores how category membership features in talk where speakers address the issue of racial discrimination. In particular, it examines how category membership gets invoked to furnish speaker entitlement in the course of destabilizing and reworking the category-bound inferences that inform membership attribution. I begin with the analysis of two relatively short extracts of talk in which speakers invoke ethnic and racial group identity as a preliminary to an examination of the paradoxical uses for which category membership is made relevant, moving on to consider an extended episode of The 700 Club. In contrast to analytic approaches which seek to reveal the denial of racism in speaker claims that mitigate the pernicious implications of category attribution, I consider how category attribution serves as a speaker resource in efforts to identify and critique racism. This participant work is then considered in relation to ethnomethodology’s efforts to re-specify the foundational postulates that inform the investigation of social order production and the place that the examination of participant meaning-making has in the pursuit of that endeavor.

It is well-known that the composition of two functors between categories yields a functor again, whenever it exists. The same is true for functors which preserve in a certain sense the structure of symmetric monoidal categories. Considering small symmetric monoidal categories with an additional structure as objects and the structure preserving functors between them as morphisms one obtains different kinds of functor categories, which are even dt-symmetric categories.

Opis:

Category formants – their place in (semantic and formal) language structure The author argues that the so-called category some of the grammaticalized segments of the corresponding semantic fields that are especially important for successful linguistic communication. She presents semantic categorical paradigms in Polish and in Macedonian, along with their formal correlates, i.e., categorical markers. She states that in the course of time, the old postpositional bound markers, suffixes and infixes are often eliminated, while the prepositional markers (prefixes, prepositions, verbal particles…) multiply. The Macedonian situation demonstrates that this type of evolution is accelerated in multilingual environment. Formanty kategorialne – ich miejsce w (semantycznej i formalnej) strukturze języka Autorka dowodzi, że tzw. formanty kategorialne należą do tych gramatycznych segmentów pól semantycznych, które są szczególnie ważne dla pomyślnej komunikacji językowej. Przedstawia semantyczne paradygmaty kategorii w języku polskim i macedońskim oraz ich formalne, tj. kategorialne, wskaźniki. Stwierdza, że z biegiem czasu stare, postpozycyjne, związane wskaźniki, sufiksy, infiksy, partykuły werbalne są często eliminowane, a wskaźniki przyimkowe (przedrostki, przyimki, cząstki słowne…) multiplikowane. Sytuacja w Macedonii świadczy o tym, że ten rodzaj ewolucji ulega przyspieszeniu w środowisku wielojęzycznym.

Główne wnioski wypływają ze zmiany postrzegania powiazania popytu na produkty w dystrybucji, co kształtuje decyzje w obszarze zarządzania logistycznego przedsiębiorstwem, a co za tym idzie, podziału ról i zadań logistycznych w przedsiębiorstwie. Zmiany te mają charakter jakościowy i mogą mieć decydujące znaczenie dla budowania systemów dystrybucji przedsiębiorstw handlowych.
Paper discussed the issue of shaping the information and material flows in combination with marketing product category management. This approach highlights the need for reformatting the organizational structures in companies and match them to purposes related to the logistics of product categories. The main conclusions flow from the altered perception linking the demand for products in the distribution, logistics management decisions what shapes the company and, consequently, the Division of roles and tasks in the enterprise. These changes has qualitative nature and can be crucial to build distribution systems traders.

The article presents the category of possibility, inferred from Kierkegaard’s works as one of primary for him. Contexts, responsible for both the typology of the concept, as well as an extension of its semantics and hermeneutical capabilities, situate at the same time the notion of possibility within the limits of modern and contemporary reflection on culture. The philosophical and theological existence of possibility as a basis for subjective recognition of the world of category culture, finally leads to the anthropological approach, in which the choice of will is being contrasted with externally interpreted histories and philosophies recognized in the spirit of historical Hegelianism. Reflections on the ‘opportunity’ define and expand the concept itself, and in a way they also affect the individualistic figure of the philosopher-writer, whom turns out to be Kiekegaard. They bring out the specificities not only in the field of writing, but also polemics and dialogue. Having allowed us to understand the polemical nature of the notion of possibility, he shows culture – not only romantic and incoherent, but also contemporary, full of possibility, based on the choice of the path belonging to an entity participating in culture (believing, philosophizing, writing, operating, communicating with others).

The paper presents the importance of the category of contemplation applied by Marian Maciejewski in his work: mickiewiczowskie «czucia wieczności». (czas i przestrzeń w liryce lozańskiej) [Mickiewicz’s “Premonitions of Eternity”. Time and Space in the Losanne lyrics]. This category has turned out to be important from the perspective of the axiological dimension of literary genres. Moreover, as seen also in earlier works of Maciejewski, it is the category different from the aesthetic ones. Maciejewski assesses that contemplation is a pre-textual category and has hierarchical features in hermeneutics.

We show some results about local homology modules when they are in a Serre subcategory of the category of R-modules. For an ideal a of R, we also define the concept of the condition $C^a$ on a Serre category, which seems dual to the condition $C_a$ in Melkersson [1]. As a main result we show that for an Artinian R-module M and any Serre subcategory S of the category of R-modules and a non-negative integer s, $ \text{Hom}_{R} ( R//a , \text{H}_{s}^{a} (M)) \in S $ if $\text{H}_{i}^{a} (M) \in S $ for all i > s.

The evidence of positive valorization is found in the texts of contemporary humanities: philosophy, linguistics, anthropology of culture, theory of literature, literary criticism and contemporary literature and art. The found examples of valorization portray its varied shades, which are influenced by the context: philosophy looks for the sense of human existence in daily causal activities, literary criticism discovers the source of aesthetic contemplation in the everyday living, literature and art attempt to notice the signs of authenticity of our existence in the trivial pictures of ordinary nature and colloquial language. Besides, the scientific discourse positively evaluates the common-sense knowledge and the 'colloquial' attitude towards the world. In the texts of the present day humanities, such parameters of colloquialism as closeness, privacy, individuality, symmetrical ness of the interlocutors' status, advantage of co-operation over competition are also positively assessed. Axiologically positive marking of the determinants of colloquialism enables many of them to penetrate the scientific discourse, shaping the new forms of the expression of the subjectivity and forming the relationship with the reader.

The impact of the economy and transport is currently a closely watched trend. Air transport has many advantages that favor it over other modes of transport. However, the environmental impact of avia- tion on the environment is not negligible, despite the fact that many important aviation organizations are constantly assessing the level of this impact and taking appropriate action on that basis. Despite the adoption of measures to increase air safety, accidents continue to occur. Among other things, they have a negative impact on the environment. The negative impact of an aviation emergency re- sults from the leakage of liquids into the soil and water, and the leakage of flue gases and combustion products of aircraft construction materials in the event of a fire into the air. This article deals with the analysis of aviation accidents in a selected area aiming to identify the parameters affecting the environment in these emergencies.

In this paper we intend to prove the importance of cognition in the difficult and complex task of finding the right definition for a term or a collocation. The principles of categorization can be successfully applied in order to find the needed and structured information about the perceived world. They can also help finding the attributes that distinguish representatives of one category. Categorizing by using prototypes contributes to the development of individuals’ vocabulary in various fields and also in discovering the most important distinctive features in order to define object, beings or abstract notions of the perceived world. A good definition must contain not only distinctive features but also specific attributes, in order to increase its accuracy.

W artykule podjęto próbę spojrzenia na kategorie komend powiatowych (miejskich) Państwowej Straży Pożarnej w Polsce, na przykładzie województwa mazowieckiego. Uwzględniono ich obciążenia podyktowane wybraną działalnością operacyjną i ratowniczą oraz czynnikami zagrożenia, a nie jak do tej pory biorąc pod uwagę tylko jeden czynnik, jakim jest liczba stałych mieszkańców rozpatrywanego obszaru.
The article attempts to look at categories of the districts Headquarters of State Fire Service in Poland, on the example of the Mazowsze province. Their operational activities, rescue tasks and risk factors have been taken into consideration. So far only one factor, that is the number of permanent residents of the area, has been considered.

Opis:

The paper is a critical analysis of time in learning, functioning in the objectivist approach to education. Referring to results of anthropological research and literary studies in this field, I justify in it the thesis that in transmissive teaching becomes an instrument for subjugating children. It is supported by the following realities of schooling: imposed time of children’s stay at school, an obligation to do homework and timeframe of “covering” textbooks, which leads to pupils being overloaded with school learning, wasting time at lessons, repeating years, or even being halted in time. The effect of the time of learning being seized by the time of teaching is petrification of the bureaucratic management of time, pretended learning and tabooism of the disturbing phenomenon of the temporary regime of learning.

The aim of the paper is to answer the question what was the Andrzej Polkowski’s intent of using domestication and foreignisation strategies in indigenous Harry Potter series translation. Selected fragments of the novel are referring to the widely understood ‘food’ category and are compared in terms of language and culture. It is known that the Polish translator extends (but does he always domesticate?) the world presented in the novel to the reader’s country. However, it is really ambigious, how these extensions affect the interpretation of Polish recipient.

The aim of this paper is to present how the imperative mood is defined in the descriptions of the inflection system of the contemporary Polish language. First of all, imperative mood is considered to be the value of one of the inflection categories of mood, and the forms representing it, e.g. zrób! (‘do!’), myj! (‘wash!’) are considered to be in opposition to the forms of the declarative and the conditional moods. On the other hand, the imperative is a grammatical means that expresses the so-called deontic modality and utterances with imperative forms are treated, before anything else, as acts of directive speech. This way of defining the imperative mood is the reason why the status of such forms as wygraj! (‘win!’), otrzymaj! (‘receive!’), (nie) umieraj! (‘[not] die!’) or bądź (szczęśliwy) (‘be [happy]’) is problematic, because they constitute a non-directive use of the imperative mood. The conclusion is that the way of defining the imperative mood in Polish requires clarification.

Given the rising importance of global value chain, this paper analyses long-run shifts in export competitiveness of Lithuania’s agri-food industry compared to high and medium-high-technology industries in the context of Lithuania’s export vertical specialization. The combination of two complementary parameters of competitiveness i.e. Balassa (1965) index of Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) and Total Effect (TE) index proposed by Nyssens and Poullet (cited in Ama-dor and Cabral, 2008, p. 202) were used. The matrix of both indexes builds on the scheme of analytical tool “products mapping” suggested by Widoto (2009). Our analytical tool is applied for the empirical analysis of export flows of goods by three end-use categories within aggregate agri-food industry the same as four manufacturing industries classified by R&D intensities, i.e. high-, medium-high-, medium-low- and low-technology industries. The OECD’s STAN Bilateral Trade Database by Industry and End-use category at the same time was applied to empirical analysis. The findings based on detailed analysis indicated significant differences in export competitiveness and its gains or losses in a long-term period among different reporting Lithuania’s industries and different goods by end-use category.

The text is a presentation of an anthropological project of research on culinaries constructed in such a way to be accessible also to practitioners of other disciplines of the humanities. The proposed range of topics was embedded in four general discourses: the temporal discourse, the spatial discourse, the discourse of identity and the discourse of cultural trends. These discourses may fulfill the role of cultural categories (as interpreted by Gurevich),and thus be descriptive and interpretative tools. Investigation of the cultural phenomenon of things culinary does not pertain only to those them; it also reveals various “faces” of culture in the era of fluid modernity.

Built in argument positions and the propositions intensional completenessThe paper discusses issues concerning the potential influence of built in argument positions on the propositions intensional completeness. According to the chosen scientific approach the distribution of determiners is a reflex of the propositions completeness, there seem to exist however such structures in which one of the argument positions is blocked due to being built into the predicate. The intensional value of such positions may vary and theoretically reflect the propositions definiteness / indefiniteness (intensional completeness). Predicates such as: търся implicate a locative argument position, which is inherently indefinite, but does not seem to reflect the distribution of determiners.

W niniejszej pracy badaniu poddano niektóre z dominujących sposobów myślenia o outdoor education w Wielkiej Brytanii oraz przedstawiono sugestie, że myślenie takie może być ograniczone i obejmuje kilka kategorii błędów. Owe ograniczenia i błędy są częściowo wynikiem nieprecyzyjnego aparatu pojęciowego, a także zmian w polityce państwa, w kontekście polityczno- społecznym. Innymi słowy, outdoor education, historycznie było nastawione zbyt pragmatycznie i w efekcie doprowadziło to do bałaganu w badaniach oraz rozumieniu outdoor education.

Cross-disciplinary transfer of knowledge appears to be one of the vital processes and an important task to undertake. This article shows that the transfer in the field of broadly understood stylistics, textology and language communication in the light of Polish studies does exist within the boundaries of the Slavic cultural circle. This has been happening thanks to, among others, initiatives by Professor Stanis³aw Gajda, one of the prominent figures of the Polish language and literature science. The first part outlines professor Gajda’s academic profile, focusing on the most prominent output and forms of academic activities, the second part, consequently introduces the Professor’s selected ideas and thoughts, with comments and interpreta- tions intended specifically for the German-speaking audience. Three works, covering complex academic problems, have been given special attention as representatives of the Author’s research: Presti¿ a jêzyk [Prestige and Language] (2010), Styl jako humanis- tyczna struktura tekstu [Style as the Humanistic Structure of a Text] (1983) and Teoria stylu i stylistyka [The Style Theory and Stylistics] (2013). In all these works the thoughts expressed by the Author are truly inspiring: he takes into account apparently distant approaches and leads the reader to find for them a common goal, through integrating different areas. The first dissertation deals with the complex understanding of discourse in the Polish language studies, connects the notion of prestige functioning in various academic disciplines with the theory of discourse and presents it in a multi-faceted manner, inspiring discussions about other discourse categories. The most prominent notion of the second work cited above, that is “style as a humanistic structure of a text” has already earned the status of canonical in stylistics. The Author claims that the notion of humanistic structure with reference to any text remains valid, and consequently, the style is an unalienable feature of a text, then the humanistic structure of a text is a natural result of this reasoning. This implication seems obvious, though professor Gajda’s approach seems influential in terms of various context of style research. In the third work the Author stresses that the main objective of the theory of style as an academic discipline is to create a comprehensive idea of a style, encompassing references to various traditions and directions of study.

Spare parts management is a complex process which is full of challenges. Spares characteristic features such as random demand, long lead times, risk of obsolescence and long periods of their provision on the market make the process complex. A crucial issue in the spare parts management is the knowledge about the internal features of them as well as of the whole environment of this industry. The objective of this paper is presentation of a chosen method of spare parts management which is parts categorization and its influence on stocks created by the presented approach. The aim is the emphasis that spare parts need to be analyzed and treated individually due to different parameters which are more complex than the components planned and managed for the production processes. The article includes the data presentation, data study and results of the analysis as well as further possible ways which can enrich the research on spare parts management.

We answer in the affirmative [Th. 3 or Corollary 1] the question of L. V. Keldysh [5, p. 648]: can every Borel set X lying in the space of irrational numbers ℙ not $G_δ · F_σ$ and of the second category in itself be mapped onto an arbitrary analytic set Y ⊂ ℙ of the second category in itself by an open map? Note that under a space of the second category in itself Keldysh understood a Baire space. The answer to the question as stated is negative if X is Baire but Y is not Baire.

The article presents an attempt of interpretation of the last story by Turgenev from the point of view of theatre as a specific cultural and social phenomenon. This approach enables us 1) to distinguish between concepts of drama and tragedy as they are used in the text and metatext of the story; 2) to get out of the text’s boundaries and to involve biographical and historical contexts to the analysis.

The paper analyzes the linguistic means incarnation karitive semantics in Russian and Polish economic discourse. The material o f the study uses data Kazakh Russian-language newspapers and Polish newspapers. Karitive semantics interpreted as the nuclear part o f the category o f lackness. In Russian and Polish speech activity on economics, used identical language units. This is due to a common origin o f language systems, dating back to the pre-Slavic language, and with respect to the interpretation o f the general problems o f the economy in Kazakhstan and Poland.

The article aims at presenting the opinion that, in the Polish language, apart from the grammatical category of gender, there is also the grammatical category of sex. The two categories are usually related, sometimes, however, they formulate an opposition. The category of gender is a category of noun and adjective, while the category of sex refers to personal pronouns, mostly to the first person singular, less frequently to the second person singular and even less often to the third person singular. Exponents of gender are mirrored in the paradigmatic forms of nouns and adjectives, whereas the exponents of sex reveal themselves in verbs and predicates, being examples of misplaced morphemes.

Having considered some general aspectological and aspect-methodological problems, the author proceeds to the discussion of certain selected questions concerning Korean aspectology, in particular, an interaction between aspect and momentarity/ progressivity as well as aspective-lingual reasoning. The position of the category of aspect within grammar is revisited of and the problem of formulation of aspectological theories is addressed. The proposed theoretical apprehension of the relation of Korean aspect to momentarity/progressivity and the aspective-lingual deduction are treated rather briefly.
몇 가지 일반적인 상적 그리고 상적-방법론적 문제들을 검토한 후, 한국어의 상에 관해 특정적으로 선택된 문제들에 대해 논하였다. 특히 상과 일시성/지속성 또한 상과 상적-언어 추론 간의 상호작용에 대해 논하였다. 상에 대한 이론의 공식화의 어려움이 언급되었고, 문법 내에서 상의 범주의 정황을 상기시켰다. 이 논문에서는 한국어의 상과 일시성/지속성 또한 상적-언어 추론 간의 관계에 대한 이론적 이해를 개략적으로 제시하였다.

Cel artykułu stanowi prezentacja funkcjonowania kategorii wiedzy, władzy i ładu w dyskursie publicznym na przykładzie dyskursu sądowego i medialnego. Źródłem ich rozumienia jest twórczość filozofa Michela Foucaulta. Immanentny ład przejawia się poprzez kategorię wiedzy i władzy, a kategorie te konstytuują i kreują dyskurs, który pełni istotną funkcję instytucjonalnego narzędzia utrzymania porządku wewnętrznego, gwaranta spójnych relacji podmiotowych, sytuacyjnych, kontekstowych, tematycznych, a także ideologicznych, aksjologicznych, społecznych. Kategoria ładu przejawia się w trzech wymiarach: symbolicznym, niewerbalnym i werbalnym. Wiedza rozumiana jest jako: poznawanie, dochodzenie do prawdy oraz interpretowanie, ujawnianie prawdy. Kategoria władzy natomiast przybiera wymiar instytucjonalny – rzeczywisty i/ lub językowy – symboliczny.
The aim of this article is to present how the categories of knowledge, power, and order function in the public discourse on the basis of the judicial and media discourse. The source of their understanding are the works of the philosopher Michel Foucault. The immanent order manifests itself through the category of knowledge and power and these categories constitute and create a discourse which plays a significant role of the institutional tool to maintain internal order. It guarantees consistent relationships between subjects, situational, contextual, thematic as well as ideological, axiological, social. The category of order is manifested in three areas: symbolic, non-verbal, and verbal. Knowledge is understood as: looking for, searching for the truth and the interpretation of the truth, revealing the truth. In contrast, the category of power gains institutional meaning – real and/or linguistic – symbolic.

Th e Youth: A Troublesome Sociological CategoryTh e youth is a sociological category which usually causes trouble for the adults due toyoung people’s contestation of the social order and value systems. Young people havealways been among potential and actual revolutionaries. It can be concluded that theyouth constitute some kind of threat to the existing state of society. Young peoplecompete with adults, not only in the sphere of values, but also on the job market forthe best posts and, as a consequence, for positions in the social structure. Since thisis a kind of an emerging category, just entering an adult life, its position has beenusually worse. Th us the youth additionally has to experience (oft en negative) consequencesof social change and its impact for individual biographies of youngsters. Th eyouth also causes trouble as an object of sociological study. Firstly, there are problemshow to determine precisely the scope and content (meaning) of this concept.Secondly, youth research led usually to the conclusions that were quickly challengedby the social practice. Th irdly, there are various ideas how to determine its role insociety. Th e purpose of this paper is to analyze these issues in the context of the socialchanges taking place in the modern globalized society.

Opis:

Few interpretations of the work of Ladislav Klíma, by both Polish and Czech researchers, most often emphasize the philosophical aspect of his writing. They point to the connections of his work with the philosophy of Schopenhauer, Nietzsche, Berkeley. The article suggests taking a different lead related to connections with the Gothic Convention and the aesthetics of shock and disgust inscribed in it. The author used this convention, among others, to formulate his philosophy of Will. The article focuses on the mini-novel The Suffering of Prince Sternenhoch. The process of interpretation was facilitated by the use of findings of Jindřich Chalupecký, whereas the theories of Julia Kristeva proved useful in the methodological aspect.

Obracając się w sferze filozofii języka, autorka artykułu Пограничье как понятийная категория pokrótce zarysowuje historię użycia koncepcji pogranicza, by dalej pokazać szerokie spektrum semantyczne słowa pogranicze wynikające z faktu, że funkcjonuje ono w kontekście współczesnych procesów kulturowych i społecznych, charakterystycznych nie tylko dla Rosji, stając się tym samym koncepcją pojemną i wieloaspektową.

The paper refers to the current issue of determining the threat category for fungal species based on the widely used IUCN criteria and presents the information concerns the possible usability of data on populations of fungal species, especially macroscopic ones occuring in Poland, in order to make the best possible extinction risk assessment. The data is heterogeneous due to the various reasons, e.g. eneven mycological recognition of different parts of Poland. Therefore, the need to collect and analyze all currently available data for those taxa is urgent. The further discussion on the subject focusing on the development of a uniform national standard for such assessments is one of the most relevant issues for the near future. The arguments being presented in this paper are intented to be an additional voice in this discussion.

The development of anthropocentric theories in modern linguisticsThe article highlights the unique position of anthropocentric theories within modern linguistics. To exemplify tendencies in the forming of idiolectic language theories in their functional aspects, I analyse the gnoseological approach in Alexander Kiklevich's linguistics. Modern linguistics differentiates between anthropocentric and anthropological theories of language. The base category of the latter is sociolect as a supraindividual phenomenon. Anthropocentric linguistic theories are, in their turn, based on the category of idiolect as the ontologically unique category from which stems the existence of both the individual and society. In the functional approach of anthropocentric theories, sociolect itself is seen as a part of idiolect, whereas sociological theories, on the contrary, consider the idiolect a part of sociolect.The two basic approaches, or sets of criteria, traditionally applied to defining the notion of category have been: (1) logical (adopting the perspective of the rational and logical capacities of consciousness) and (2) empirical (representing the perspective of the sensual experience of the individual). Beginning in the late 19th century, a new approach, or criterion, appeared and has been growing in importance. It might be referred to as: (3) the linguistic approach, which focuses on the exceptionality of how the necessarily unified rational-logical,sensual-imaginary and emotional experiences of the individual are categorised. It is namely that third aspect, or criterion, that is actualised in the studies of the individual's cognitive and mental capacities. Such actualisation is fostered by the researchers' awareness of the focusing role of individual language in regulating the cognitive and communicative manifestations of behaviour.Within the structure of the sign, comprising of the signifying and the signified, the signified is itself a complex structure, essentially describable on three logical and prototypical levels:– the hypernimic (generic, abstract-logical) level,– the base (generic-particular, mental-imaginary) level (whose prototypical structure is the centre-periphery), and– the hyponymic (particular, mixed, syncretic) level.Alexander Kiklevich's theory proposes a classification of scientific paradigms; discusses the pragmatics and functionality of language in communication; emphasises the peculiarity of the conceptualising of information on the basic, supra-basic and sub-basic levels of communication; criticises the content of modern conceptology; finally, it develops and elaborates a distinctive approach to the issues of language polysemy and metaphor. Anthropocentric theories of modern linguistics strengthen the long-stipulated leading position of the discipline among the human sciences. Kształtowanie się teorii antropocentrycznych we współczesnym językoznawstwieArtykuł zwraca uwagę na specyfikę teorii antropocentrycznych we współczesnym językoznawstwie. Jako przykład tendencji rządzących kształtowaniem się funkcjonalnych aspektów idiolektycznych teorii języka analizie poddane zostaje podejście gnozeologiczne w językoznawstwie Aleksandra Kiklewicza. Antropocentryczne teorie lingwistyczne przeciwstawiane są w dzisiejszym językoznawstwie antropologicznym teoriom języka. Podstawową kategorią tych ostatnich jest socjolekt jako zjawisko ponadjednostkowe. Podstawową kategorią teorii antropocentrycznych w językoznawstwie jest z kolei idiolekt jako ontologicznie niepowtarzalna kategoria wyjściowa istnienia jednostki i społeczeństwa. W przypadku podejścia funkcjonalnego w ramach teorii antropocentrycznych sama kategoria socjolektu uznana zostaje za część idiolektu, nie zaś odwrotnie, jak ma to miejsce w teoriach socjologicznych.Termin kategoria określa się tradycyjnie za pomocą dwóch kryteriów czy też podejść: 1) logicznego (z pespektywy racjonalno-logicznych zdolności, jakimi dysponuje świadomość), 2) empirycznego (z perspektywy zmysłowego doświadczenia jednostkowej osobowości). Poczynając od końca XIX wieku, pojawiło się, a następnie umocniło trzecie podejście – 3) kryterium językowe, które koncentruje się na swoistości kategoryzowania (ujmowanego jako nierozdzielna całość) doświadczenia jednostki: racjonalno-logicznego, sensoryczno-obrazowego i emocjonalnego. Właśnie ów trzeci aspekt ulega aktualizacji w związku z badaniami kognitywno-myślowych zdolności jednostki. Aktualizacji tej sprzyja wiedza o ogniskującej roli indywidualnego języka w procesie regulacji kognitywnych i komunikacyjnych przejawów zachowania.Znak dzieli się na znaczące i znaczone, jednakże samo znaczone przedstawia sobą złożoną strukturę odnoszącą się do trzech poziomów logicznych i prototypowych:– hiperonimicznym (rodzajowym, abstrakcyjno-logicznym),– podstawowym (gatunkowo-rodzajowym, mentalno-obrazowym, o prototypowej strukturze centrum-peryferia),– hiponimicznym (gatunkowym, mieszanym, synkretycznym).Teoria Aleksandra Kiklewicza proponuje klasyfikację paradygmatów lingwistycznych, opisuje pragmatykę i funkcję języka w komunikacji, akcentuje swoistość konceptualizowania informacji na podstawowym, wyższym i niższym poziomie komunikacji, krytykuje treść współczesnej konceptologii, a także rozwija i konkretyzuje problematykę polisemii i metaforyki języka. Teorie antropocentryczne we współczesnym językoznawstwie wzmacniają od dawna postulowaną pozycję lingwistyki jako wiodącej dyscypliny nauk humanistycznych. Становление антропоцентристских теорий в современном языкознанииВ статье отмечается своеобразие антропоцентристских теорий в современном языкознании. Как пример тенденций в становлении функциональных аспектов идиолектных теорий языка анализируется гносеологический подход в языкознании А. Киклевича. Антропоцентристские лингвистические теории в современном языкознании противопоставлены антропологическим теориям языка. Базовой категорией антропологических теорий в языкознании является социолект как надличностное явление. Напротив, базовой категорией антропоцентристских теорий в языкознании является идиолект как единственная онтологически исходная категория существования личности и общества. При функциональном подходе в антропоцентристских теориях сама категория социолекта признается частью идиолекта, а не наоборот, как в социологических теориях идиолект признается частью социолекта.Традиционно термин категория определялся, в основном, двумя критериями, или подходами: 1 – логическим (со сторонырационально-логических способностей сознания); 2 – эмпирическим (со стороны чувственного опыта личности). Начиная с конца ХIХ-го века появился и последовательно укреплялся третий подход, или критерий 3 – языковой критерий, который акцентирует внимание на своеобразии категоризирования (в их единстве) рационально-логического опыта личности,сенсорно-образногоопыта иэмоционального опыта личности. Именно третий аспект, или критерий актуализируется в связи с исследованием когнитивно-мыслительных способностей личности. Этой актуализации способствует понимание фокусирующей роли индивидуального языка в регуляции когнитивных икоммуникативных проявлений поведения.Помимо дифференциации знака на означающее и означаемое, само означаемое знака является сложной структурой, соотносимой прежде всего с тремя логическими и прототипическими уровнями:– гиперонимический (родовой,абстрактно-логический),– базовый (родо-видовой, ментально-образный, с прототипической структурой центр – периферия),– гипонимический (видовой, смешанный, синкретичный).В теории А. Киклевича представлена классификация лингвистических парадигм, прагматика и фукнции языка в коммуникации, акцентируется своеобразие концептуализации информации в базовом, надбазовом и подбазовом уровнях коммуникации, критикуется содержание современной концептологии, а также развивается и уточняется проблематика языковой полисемии и метафорики. Антропоцентристские теории в современной лингвистике укрепляют давно утверждаемую позицию лингвистики как ведущей дисциплины среди гуманитарных наук.

Opis:

he European Union places great emphasis on the use of renewable energy sources in the energy industries. The share of bio-components in liquid fuels consumption is expected to reach 10% by the end of 2020. A consequence of this regulation is the increased cropping area of rapeseed in Poland. The aim of the study was to quantify the environmental impact associated with winter rape production along the life cycle stages. The method used to calculate the overall environmental profile of rapeseed was the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). Analysis was based on the case study of two large-area farms in the Wielkopolska region carried out in the years 2011–2013. Our study showed that fertilizer operation was the largest contributor to the environmental impact categories, representing almost 99 percent of the acidification potential and 77 percent of the global warming potential. Among the components of fertiliz- ing operations, field application of nitrogen fertilizers generated the highest load of greenhouse gas emissions. It is concluded that the data obtained characterizes the con- ventional type of rapeseed production in the Wielkopolska region and can be used as source material for extending the LCA to the rapeseed processing industry which receive the material from the local suppliers.

Opis:

To what extent do current models apply to analyze soft repression? Research on soft repression is still under development, and due to technological advancement, it is necessary to analyze different types of soft repression in a way to modify and refine existing typologies. Drawing on lessons learnt from Asian and regional studies, this article aims to discuss critically selected theoretical tools used to study soft repression. It scrutinizes four models that apply to delve analytically into different types of soft repression. The focus is on the most influential approaches in recent years that gained the highest impact on the development of studies on contentious politics. The first typology applies to differentiate between soft repression forms used mainly by non-state actors. The second approach treats soft repression as an explaining variable, as the text focuses on the consequences of soft repression. The third model applies to studying hard and soft repression during protests. Its analysis exposes how the combination of effectively selected forms of repression leads to the demobilization of individual movements and discourages participation in the protest. The last model involves a specific form of soft repression that uses relationships and interpersonal ties to demobilize protesters.

This article highlights the way the categories of Hellenic aesthetics are transformed in the contemporary Spanish sports discourse and the role they play in it. It analyses the concepts of agon, arete and hubris that are part of these categories. Special attention is paid to the religious aspect that penetrates the sports discourse. This study argues that the concepts developed by the Greeks and transformed later are explicitly presented in the texts dedicated to sport. We offer a full-scale field of illustrative material, these are the examples taken from the press and books devoted to sport that facilitate the understanding of the realization of the notions of Hellenic philosophy.

Opis:

This paper presents an analysis of semantic and lexical connectivity of lexical units assuming the form maksymalnie (maximally), minimalnie (minimally). They are treated as metapredicative operators, or – to be more precise – as operators of gradation, while in fact they are representatives of metalevels. The paper focuses in particular on presenting limitations to the connectivity between the examined operators and the adjectives and adverbs that are called parametric and evaluative in the relevant literature. The analysed lexemes collocate with adjectives and adverbs that are relative in nature. The analyses were conducted based on the dictionary descriptions and examples of usage of the units derived from the National Corpus of Polish (NKJP). The paper uses methods applied in structural grammar and semantics.

Opis:

Modern linguistic research focuses on phenomena that simultaneously affect different branches of science. Abstract nouns, which lie at the intersection of language, speech and thought and a person’s unique ability to generalize, are examples of exactly such phenomena. The grammatical form of the plural, which is a structural basis of language, is increasingly prevalent in the general grammatical theory of language development. The meaning of abstract vocabulary and its plural forms poses researchers with questions that are not always unambiguous: what are the relations of words in a sentence, how do they agree, and what is the participation of the plural in the formation of new lexical meanings and new plural words. The article is devoted to these issues, as well as to the comparative analysis of abstract plural nouns in modern French and Ukrainian. We review the peculiarities of the functioning of abstract plural nouns in typologically dissimilar languages (analytically-inflected French and synthetically-inflecte Ukrainian). We also analyse the semantic transformations of abstract substantives, and we illustrate on a specifi language material their potential ability to convey expressiveness in artistic speech. Examples from literature have made it possible to consider the semantic alterations of abstract plural nouns and, in particular, the number of abstract nouns which appear as the dominant of their semantic modifications. The analysis of works of fiction by French authors, most notably, Françoise Sagan, and their Ukrainian translations, helped to identify the uniqueness of the functioning of singular and plural forms of abstract nouns.

A possible classification of indefiniteness exponents in Macedonian The concept or category of determinateness finds its grammaticalization in the category of definiteness. Beginning from the dialectical configuration of reality, which finds its linguistic expression in such features that, in componential analysis, are marked as “plus” (+) or “minus” (-), the formal indicator of definiteness will be juxtaposed with equivalents for the corresponding point/segment at the opposite end of the axis.In the established system of the Macedonian language, indefiniteness may be expressed simply by the absence of a marker; by indefinite pronouns, and, in particular, by one and someone (eden and nekoj), which in terms of definiteness/indefiniteness are counterparts of sorts to the article (the definite article as an exponent of positive marking of definiteness in Macedonian); finally, in certain cases, absence of definiteness may be related to the non-referentiality of noun syntagmas or to ontological meanings. The above-mentioned cases can be classified according to: a) their syntactic function; b) the addressor’s/addressee’s knowledge of the referent (obligatory use of one [eden]/someone [nekoj]]; c) their non-referentiality (either in reality or in the text)/denotation/genericity. Propozycja klasyfikacji wykładników nieokreśloności w języku macedońskim Pojęcie wyznaczoności gramatykalizuje się jako tzw. kategoria określoności. Poczynając od stanu rzeczy w dialektach oraz stosując analizę komponencjalną, w której poszczególnym cechom przypisujemy znaki plus (+) i minus (-),formalnym wykładnikom kategorii określoności przeciwstawiamy ekwiwalenty odpowiedniego punktu/odcinka na przeciwnej stronie osi.W systemie języka macedońskiego nieokreśloność może być wyrażona po prostu poprzez brak wykładnika; zaimkami nieokreślonymi, w szczególności еден i некој – stanowiącymi odpowiedniki rodzajnika (który w języku macedońskim jest wykładnikiem pozytywnego nacechowania ze względu na określoność w języku macedońskim); wreszcie, w pewnych wypadkach, do nieobecności określoności może się przyczynić brak referencji frazy nominalnej lub wiedza ontologiczna. Wymienione sytuacje możemy klasyfikować według: funkcji składniowej, wiedzy adresata/adresatów na temat referenta (obligatoryjne użycie еден/некој), niereferencyjności (w rzeczywistości i w tekście)/denotacji/generyczności.

Opis:

Expressing intensity in Serbian and Macedonian The article presents the way of expressing intensity in Serbian and Macedonian. The analysis of derivatives was made using the semantic word-formation methodology. It was initially assumed that the close relationship of the languages manifests itself in word-formation. The analysis of derivatives in this category shows a large similarity, such as the occurrence of the same or similar formatives, the distribution of formatives, the variance of formatives, but also that both languages retain their specificity. The results of the research will be presented in two parts. The present part deals with the formatives that appear in both compared languages. The formatives appearing in one of the languages and not the other will be discussed in a further paper. Wyrażanie intensywności w językach serbskim i macedońskim W artykule przedstawiono sposób wyrażania intensywności w językach serbskim i macedońskim. Analizę derywatów słowotwórczych przeprowadzono w metodologii słowotwórstwa semantycznego. Bliskie pokrewieństwo obu języków pozwoliło założyć, że wiele formantów, ich wariantywność i dystrybucja będą w nich zbliżone. Potwierdziła to analiza materiału słownikowego. Obydwa języki zachowują też swoją specyfikę.W niniejszym artykule zostały opisane formanty kategorii intensywności wspólne dla języka serbskiego i języka macedońskiego. Formanty występujące tylko w jednym z porównywanych języków będą przedstawione w odrębnym artykule.

Jeep cut in “ford”, or Does the grammatical category of animateness / inanimateness exist in Russian?The purpose of the article is to clarify the concept of grammatical category of animateness / inanimateness in Russian. After analyzing the history of the study of this category and the history of its development, the author concludes that the grammatical category of animateness, despite its name, is intended to mark not living objects, but objects with a potential of activity. The main function of this category is to distinguish nominative and accusative cases in such sentences as modern informal Russian Dzhip podrezal “ forda” (Jeep cut in “Ford”), where without such а distinguishing feature it could be unclear which of these two nouns is the subject and which is the object. Jeep zajechał drogę „fordowi”, albo Czy w języku rosyjskim istnieje gramatyczna kategoria żywotności / nieżywotności?Celem artykułu jest rozjaśnienie natury gramatycznej kategorii żywotności /nieżywotności w języku rosyjskim. Po przeanalizowaniu historii badań nad tą kategorią oraz historii jej rozwoju autor dochodzi do wniosku, że wbrew swojej nazwie gramatyczna kategoria żywotności charakteryzuje określenia nie żywych istot, a obiektów potencjalnie aktywnych. Podstawową funkcją tej kategorii jest odróżnienie form mianownika i biernika w takich zdaniach, jak Dżip podriezał „forda” (Jeep zajechał drogę „fordowi”) we współczesnym potocznym języku rosyjskim, gdzie w przeciwnym wypadku nie byłoby jasne, który z tych dwóch rzeczowników jest podmiotem, a który orzeczeniem.

A homely–stranger category in local anthroponomy on the example of surnames of Wysokie MazowieckieThe aim of the article is showing the homely–stranger category in relation with local anthroponomy on the example of surnames of inhabitants of a town in Podlasie.The opposition mentioned above is shown as one of basic categories which describe the culture of local community. The role of surname geography in establishing the homely–stranger relation was discussed.Moreover, review of surnames’ interpretations in onomastic surveys was presented. In the discussion of the homely–stranger category with reference to anthroponyms of inhabitants of Wysokie Mazowieckie indicators of homeliness were taken into consideration: local (toponymic surnames with the ski formant), familiar (surnames formed from native appellatives and patronymic), recognized, accepted (surnames which contain foreign elements or unknown dialectal appellatives whose holders are well known to the community or there is a large representation of them). Among the indicators of strangeness there are elements: foreign (anthroponyms with non-Polish formants, e.g. uk, foreign surnames which have a small representation of holders), unknown (anthroponyms formed from non-Polish appellatives or from appellatives of archaic character), different (surnames with non-Polish phonetic features).The discussion of understanding particular surnames by micro community shows again what important role a stereotype plays both on linguistic and cultural ground. Presented analysis shows inclination of a given group to attributing certain features to particular surnames. These features result from knowledge and imagining of particular members of a community and most often are not connected with knowledge of morphological structure or an anthroponym’s etymology. Therefore they disaccord with linguistic interpretation. Категория свой–чужой в местной антропонимии на примере фамилий жителей города Высокое МазовецкоеВ статье проведен анализ категории свой – чужой в области антропонимов – фамилий жителей одного из городов региона Подляшие. Данное противопоставление представлено как форма/метод описания культуры местного общества. Приведен обзор толкования фамилий в ономастических исследованиях. При анализировании фамилий городка Высокое Мазовецкое учитывались критерии, определяющие своих: здешний (фамилии происходящие от названий местностей с финалью -ski), знакомый (фамилии, происходящие от аппелятивных наименований и патронимии), приемлемый (фамилии с иностранными элементами или неизвестные диалектные названия в качестве фамилий лиц хорошо известных в данном социуме или не имеющие многозначимого представительства в данной среде). Показателями, определяющими чужих, являются: нездешний (антропонимы, включающие непольские элементы, напр., -uk; иностранные фамилии немногих лиц), фамилии, происходящие от непольских или архаических аппелятивных наименований, отличающихся (фамилии с неполскими фонетическими элементами). Восприятие данных фамилий микросредой лишний раз подчеркивает существенное влияние стереотипа как на языки, так и на культуру. Из анализа следует также склонность приписывать отдедьным фамилиям определенных черт, являющихся эффектом знаний и представлений, бытующих в среде и, чаще всего, не связанных с пониманием морфологической структуры ими или этимологии антропонима – следовательно идущих в разрез с языковедческим толкованем.

Opis:

This article is the second part of a study concerned with vocabulary in autism spectrum disorders. It presents a qualitative description of vocabulary in people with autism, and more precisely – its content aspect. After a short presentation of theoretical and methodological assumptions, the author proceeds to characterize the categories of things and events and their lexical exponents: nouns and verbs. The analysis of the research material, appropriately selected literature, shows that in the language of people with autism, as in the language of people with typical linguistic development, the categories of things and events are clearly represented. There are analogies, similarities, but also differences within specific semantic subcategories and lexical exponents. The research results are highly varied, and the author tries to explain the reasons for this variation. She also determines how the analysis carried out paves the way for further studies on vocabulary in autism.
Artykuł jest drugą częścią studium poświęconego słownictwu w zaburzeniach należących do spektrum autyzmu i obejmuje charakterystykę jakościową słownictwa, a dokładnie jego aspektu treściowego. Autorka po krótkim przedstawieniu założeń teoretycznych i metodologicznych przechodzi do scharakteryzowania kategorii rzeczy i zdarzeń oraz odpowiadających im wykładników leksykalnych: rzeczowników i czasowników. Z analizy materiału badawczego, czyli odpowiednio wybranej literatury przedmiotu, wyłania się wniosek, że w języku osób z autyzmem, tak jak w języku osób o typowym rozwoju językowym, kategorie rzeczy i zdarzeń są wyraźnie reprezentowane. Występują analogie, podobieństwa, ale także różnice w obrębie określonych podkategorii semantycznych i wykładników leksykalnych. Wyniki badań są wysoce zróżnicowane, a przyczyny tego zróżnicowania autorka stara się wyjaśnić. Określa, także w jaki sposób przeprowadzona analiza wytycza drogę do dalszych studiów nad słownikiem w autyzmie.

The ℑ-density topology $T_ℑ$ on ℝ is a refinement of the natural topology. It is a category analogue of the density topology [9, 10]. This paper is concerned with ℑ-density continuous functions, i.e., the real functions that are continuous when the ℑ-density} topology is used on the domain and the range. It is shown that the family $C_ℑ$ of ordinary continuous functions f: [0,1]→ℝ which have at least one point of ℑ-density continuity is a first category subset of C([0,1])= {f: [0,1]→ℝ: f is continuous} equipped with the uniform norm. It is also proved that the class $C_ℑℑ$ of ℑ-density continuous functions, equipped with the topology of uniform convergence, is of first category in itself. These results remain true when the ℑ-density topology is replaced by the deep ℑ-density topology.

Let us assume - as concerns expressions x, y, x' and y' - that: (a) x occurs in y; (b) the only structural difference between y and y' is that x does not occur in y', or x' occurs in y instead of x. Then: x occurs in y inessentially-with-respect-to-w of y, iff y' is the same as y with respect to p. Correspondingly: x occurs in y essentially-with-respect-to-w of y, iff y' is different as y with respect to p. The occurrence x in y may be essential or inessential with respect to syntactic, semantic or pragmatic properties of y. In my paper, I discuss a variety of detailed concepts of the (in)essential occurrence of expressions in another expressions with respect to semantic properties of these expressions, i.e. with respect to semantic category, logical value, denotation and connotation. I also discuss some philosophical and methodological implications of presented solutions of the problem.

Opis:

Linear logic is one of the logical systems with special properties suitable for describing real processes used in computer science. It enables one to specify dynamics, non determinism, consecutive processes and important resources as memory and time on syntactic level. Moreover, its deduction system enables one to verify specified properties. Constructing an appropriate model based on categories can serve for modeling various program systems in the wide spectrum of computer science. Mainly, propositional linear logic is used for these purposes. The expression power of linear logic significantly grows by extending propositional logic with predicates and quantifiers. Our paper concerns itself with defining predicate linear logic together with its deduction system and our main aim is to construct a categorical model of predicate linear logic as a symmetric monoidal closed category.

Opis:

The unusual applicability of mathematics to the description of the physical reality still remains a major investigative task for philosophers, physicists, mathematicians and cognitive scientists. The presented article offers a critical analysis of the philosophical motivations and development of a major attempt to resolve this task put forward by two prominent Polish philosophers: Józef Życiński and Michał Heller. In order to explain this particular property of mathematics Życiński has first introduced the concept of the field of rationality together with the field of potentiality to be followed by Heller’s formal field and the field of categories. It turns out that these concepts are fully intelligible once located within philosophical stances on the relations between mathematics and physical reality. It will be argued that in order to achieve more extended conceptual clarification of the precise meaning of the field of rationality, further advancements in the understanding of the nature of the human mind are required.

The first part of the paper constitutes an analysis of the term “transitory category” as presented by Adam Heinz, and a justification of the view that there is a need to eliminate the term from the metalanguage of syntax. The second part of the paper is a reconstruction of the reasoning mechanism Adam Heinz developed in order to postulate the existence of a transitory category between the complement and the adverbial. The last part of the text shows an effective method of analysing relations between parts of the sentence without a necessity to use the term “transitory category”.

The authors of the article analyze selected texts of Internet communication, identify the speech genre of a funny story from the life of animals, identify its typological parameters in accordance with a concept developed by Mikhail Bakhtin, show the stylistic originality of the ironically written and spoken presentation of the plot, compare the specified genre of Internet communication with the related non-media genre of funny stories, and demonstrate the similarities and differences between the compared genres. The authors note that the genre of a funny story from the life of animals reveals its belonging to the Internet communication environment with such properties as the attractiveness of the emotiogenic situation underlying its plot, hypertextual connection within the frame of entertainment sites, forums, and channels of the source text with other narrative texts of the same genre as well as with reactive replicas-comments, where an abbreviated version of this genre is implemented and from whose totality a polylogue is formed as a reflection of the interactivity of Internet communication. The authors state the kinship of the compared genres and pay attention to the prospects of studying the specifics of Internet genres against the background of their non-media counterparts. The research material consists of 40 Internet texts.

Subjective structure of academic textsIn the paper I make an attempt to determine the subjective structure of scientific texts based on research of the textual category of impersonality. The category of impersonality is understood here as such a choice of means from different levels of the linguistic system (morphological, lexical, syntactical, textual) which allows to degrade or remove the semantic subject from the sentence/text to achieve the highest possible level of objectivity of the academic narration. My assumption is that 1) the subjective field of an academic text can differ from subjective fields of other text types, 2) subjective organization of academic texts is determined by hiding the semantic subject, which allows to distinguish the textual category of impersonality, 3) subjective structure of academic texts is culturally determined. Using the tool of sentence model I present the multilevel subjective organization of Russian academic texts and a list of means which contribute to the impersonality therein. The list of means includes modal and infinitive modifications, passivization, authorization, causation and different types of nominalization. Subiektywna struktura tekstu naukowegoW artykule podejmuję próbę przedstawienia podmiotowej struktury tekstu naukowego w ramach badań nad tekstową kategorią impersonalności. Przez kategorię impersonalności rozumiem świadomy wybór środków językowych z różnych poziomów, który prowadzi do obniżenia statusu lub całkowitego usunięcia podmiotu semantycznego ze zdania/tekstu w celu nadania maksymalnie obiektywnego charakteru narracji naukowej. Zakładam, po pierwsze, że pole podmiotowe tekstu naukowego może różnić się od pól podmiotowych innych typów tekstu; po drugie, że organizacja podmiotowa tekstu naukowego polega w znacznej mierze na ukrywaniu podmiotu semantycznego, co pozwala mówić o istnieniu kategorii impersonalności; po trzecie, że podmiotowa organizacja tekstu naukowego jest uwarunkowana kulturowo. Wykorzystując pojęcie modelu zdania, przedstawiam wielowarstwową organizację podmiotową i sposoby obniżenia statusu / usunięcia podmiotu semantycznego w rosyjskich tekstach naukowych; do sposobów tych należą między innymi modyfikacje modalne i bezokolicznikowe, pasywizacja, autoryzacja, kauzatywizacja i różnego typu nominalizacje.

Opis:

The present article discusses the measurement of social class in the social psychology of education research. It was evident that social class experiences are conflated with the socioeconomic status (SES) indicators and the subjective measure of the class context was underrepresented. However, this was discussed in Rubin et al (2014) about the intersectional nature of social class taking into account both objective and subjective indicators. The derivation of the social class experience from the objective and subjective measures were critically discussed. An effort was made to understand whether these translations are category mistake or not. Three trajectories will be utilized to address the category mistake, that is, 1) subjectivity and objectivity debate in the measurement of social class in social psychology of education, 2) debates encircling around the position of social psychology and its underutilized concept such as social class as scientifically objective facets in social sciences and 3) operationalism of social class and category mistake.

У статті описано різні підходи до розуміння дієслівних іменників у мовознавстві, окреслено дискусійність термінологічного апарату та класифікації. З’ясовано, що дієслівні іменники є яскравим прикладом гібридності, оскільки поєднують у собі категорії, характерні різним класам слів. Доведено дієслівний характер цих утворень, зокрема на прикладі категорії виду та числа. Категорія виду та числа залежить від семантичного значення ДІ і детермінує дієслівний чи іменниковий характер. Таким чином виділено два типи дієслівних іменників: присудкові, що вживаються тільки в однині та наслідують видову семантику, та підметові, що відповідно втрачають акціональність та можуть уживатися в множині, у свою чергу вони поділяються на декілька значеннєвих підтипів: терміни, спосіб дії, стан тощо. Проаналізовано тенденції уживання таких конструкцій у сучасних польській та українській мовах, зокрема щодо новоутворень, що поширені в інтернет-просторі.
The article deals with different approaches to identify the notions of verbal nouns. The main attention is given to the terms for the nomination of the verbal nouns and their classification. Verbal nouns are a clear example of hybridity as they combine categories typical for different classes of words. The verb nature of these formation is proved by the grammatical categories of aspect and number. Thus, two types of verb nouns are distinguished: predicate nouns, which are used only in the singular and imitate aspectual semantics, and subject nouns, which accordingly lose their aspect and can be used in the plural, they are divided into several semantic subtypes: terms, mode of action, condition, etc. The results of this comparison with examples from the modern Ukrainian and Polish literature are presented in the article, in particular regarding new formed examples, which are used in the Internet space.

Jest ona sumą efektywności realizacji racji stanu, realizacji celów długoterminowych, realizacji celów krótkoterminowych, realizacji celów doraźnych oraz poziomu aktywności państwa na arenie międzynarodowej.

The category of group-graded modules over an abelian group $G$ is a monoidal category. For any bicharacter of $G$ this category becomes a braided monoidal category. We define the notion of a Lie algebra in this category generalizing the concepts of Lie super and Lie color algebras. Our Lie algebras have $n$-ary multiplications between various graded components. They possess universal enveloping algebras that are Hopf algebras in the given category. Their biproducts with the group ring are noncommutative noncocommutative Hopf algebras some of them known in the literature. Conversely the primitive elements of a Hopf algebra in the category form a Lie algebra in the above sense.

The category of all binary relations between arbitrary sets turns out to be a certain symmetric monoidal category Rel with an additional structure characterized by a family $d = (d_{A}: A → A⨂ A | A ∈ |Rel|)$ of diagonal morphisms, a family $t = (t_{A}: A → I | A ∈ |Rel|)$ of terminal morphisms, and a family $∇ = (∇_{A}: A ⨂ A → A | A ∈ |Rel|)$ of diagonal inversions having certain properties. Using this properties in [11] was given a system of axioms which characterizes the abstract concept of a halfdiagonal-halfterminal-symmetric monoidal category with diagonal inversions (hdht∇s-category). Besides of certain identities this system of axioms contains two identical implications. In this paper is shown that there is an equivalent characterizing system of axioms for hdht∇s-categories consisting of identities only. Therefore, the class of all small hdht∇-symmetric categories (interpreted as hetrogeneous algebras of a certain type) forms a variety and hence there are free theories for relational structures.

ObjectivesThis study aimed to investigate the prevalence of insomnia and risk factors among different job categories of steel workers in China, in order to improve their quality of occupational life.Material and MethodsA cross-sectional face-to-face survey was conducted which involved 5834 steel workers from a large enterprise located in northern China, including front-line, maintenance and inspection, and other auxiliary workers. The Athens Insomnia Scale and the Job Content Questionnaire were used to assess the status of insomnia and job stress/social support, respectively. Multivariable logistic regression was used to identify factors influencing insomnia.ResultsThe overall prevalence of insomnia was determined at 42.0% (95% confidence interval: 40.7%–43.2%). For front-line, maintenance and inspection, and other auxiliary workers, the prevalence was 42.3%, 39.8%, and 47.9% (p = 0.001), respectively. The participants with high stress and low support, and those who had experienced ≥2 major life events in the past 12 months, compared to those with low stress and high support, and those without major events, displayed an increased risk of insomnia among all 3 job categories (the adjusted odds ratio ranged 1.56–2.38 and 1.30–1.75, respectively). The educational level, shift work, alcohol consumption, and present illness were identified as influencing factors of insomnia for 1 or 2 job categories.ConclusionsThe prevalence of insomnia was the highest in the group of other auxiliary steel workers among the 3 job categories of steel workers under consideration. While the influencing factors of insomnia differed among the groups, job stress and major life events were common risk factors of insomnia among the 3 categories of steel workers.

Opis:

Flexion elements are a typical feature of the so-called flexion languages and are characterized by the fact that they change their form depending on (in-)flexion and they decode at least two functions. In the case of a Germanic verb inflexion elements stand for two categories: person and a singular/ plural form. In Proto-Indo-European and Proto-Germanic the inflection elements were relatively independent and it was easy to separate them from a verb stem which consisted of the so-called root and other components such as tense or mode markers. In old Germanic languages the processes of fusion and creating portmanteau word(s) (language contamination so to speak) were so advanced that it is difficult, yet not impossible, to separate primary flexion elements. The article presents the development of the 2-nd person singular marker from the Germanic state with regard to the Gothic language up to the old-high-German phase. The markers which were analysed belonged to the Present and Past Tense paradigm of all modes of the selected verb groups, that is both weak and strong ones and the rest not belonging to any of the groups mentioned above. The flexion elements were identified using a synchronic model of a morphological description worked out by Józef Darski (1987, 22004). Modification of the model concerning the character of diachronic studies ensures alsoa proper historical description.

Scientists conducting research in the field of social sciences are constantly looking for new ways of analysing the social reality. For many years, scientific research has successfully used quantitative methods alongside qualitative research methods. The grounded theory methodology is a type of methodology providing a basis for systematic empirical research and analysis of the obtained qualitative data. The presented article reviews the main points of the grounded theory. It also aims at comparing this methodology with an ethnomethodological approach and at indicating the role of the researcher in qualitative research

‘Lesser  mythology’  played  an  important  role  in  the  worldview  notions  of  the  Carpathian Ukrainians (Hutsuls, Boykos and Lemkos) during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. It combines notions  about  various  demonic  figures,  which  may  be  divided  into  three  types: figures  of unearthly  origin;  transformed  human  souls;  people  in  possession  of  secret knowledge and supernatural qualities. The terms used to define the representatives of lesser mythology  varied from region  to  region.  A  range  of  euphemisms  was  also  used.  The coexistence between the living and the undead gave rise to many taboos relating to magic.

Opis:

In the article, responsibility is treated as a basic category of education and a special individual and social value. Attention is paid to the nature of learning responsibility by a pre-school child. The aim of the article is to identify individual and social determinants of constructing a category of responsibility by a child. Their expressions visible in language, emotions and behavior are treated as carriers of the meanings of specific content. They point to certain situations in the child's life that are conducive to learning responsibility. This makes it easier to recognize what is a responsibility from the child’s point of view and how children experience responsibility in everyday life. The basis for the analyzes are the theoretical references concerning the sources of responsibility, while the direction and scope is determined by the analysis of the content of the category of responsibility.

The meaning of default is shown in the article in the historical background aspect of its linguistics studying and, in particular, in Russian philology; as independent functional and semantic category of Russian. Modern features of this category’s existing in Russian discourse of the XXI century second decade are described in the article. The research theoretical points are followed by the linguistic analysis of semantics default’s functioning illustrative material (on A. S. Pushkin’s and F. M. Dostoyevsky’s creativity material and usage examples from modern Russian discourse).
Значение умолчания показано в статье в аспекте истории вопроса его изучения в лингвистике и, в частности, в русистике; как самостоятельная функционально-семантическая категория русского языка. В статье описаны современные черты бытования этой категории в русском дискурсе второго десятилетия ХХI в. Теоретические положения исследования сопровождаются лингвистическим анализом иллюстративного материала функционирования семантики умолчания (на материале творчества А. С. Пушкина, Ф. М. Достоевского и примеров употребления из современного русского дискурса).

W artykule przeanalizowane zostały dwie powieści Dymitra Mereżkowskiego pod kontem konstruowania przez pisarza przestrzeni symbolicznej kategorii sacrum – na podstawie doświadczenia filozoficzno-estetycznego przejścia granicznego od świata antycznego do Średniowiecza (Julian Apostata: Śmierć bogów), a następnie swoisty obrócony symetrycznie powrót od Średniowiecza do Renesansu (Leonardo da Vinci: Zmartwychwstanie Bogów), różnorodne przejawy tej kategorii tak w wierzeniach Hellenów, jak i w chrześcijaństwie.
It’s considered in the article how artistic attempt  is carried out of showing  artistic building of symbolistic space of category the sacred in novels of  Dmitriy Merezhkovskiy, and then original symmetrically turned return from the Antique to the Middle Ages (The Death of Gods (Julian the Apostate)) and from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance (Resuscitated Gods (Leonardo da Vinci)), her various expressions in creed of Olympic Gods in ancient Greeks, and in Christianity.

The present contribution focuses on one specific figurative usage of proper nouns, namely paragon names, currently employed as derogatory or scornful terms in the debate about public affairs in Poland, as exemplified by the sentence Dlatego Kaczyńscy-PL i Trumpy-PL wygrywają wybory1 [That is why Kaczyńskis and Trumps win elections]. The article argues that metonymic approaches advocated by cognitive linguists (Lakoff 1987, Kövecses and Radden 1998, Barcelona 2003, 2004, Brdar and Brdar-Szabó 2007, and Bierwiaczonek (2013, in press) proffer a more felicitous and precise explanation of the motivational processes behind paragonic uses of names than the metaphoric model advanced in Polish onomastic research, represented, among others, by Kosyl (1978), Kaleta (1998), Cieślikowa (2006) and Rutkowski (2007a, 2007b, 2008, 2012, 2017). We provide a detailed discussion of the recent cognitive linguistic literature on paragons, followed by an analysis of two Polish examples of paragonic uses, which serve as illustration of the explanatory power of selected metonymic frameworks presented in the paper.

Opis:

The contribution represents a fragment of an intended Lexicon of grammatical-semantic features. It presents only very general properties as components of grammatical categories and the results of their presence or non-presence for category value interpretation and for (in)compatibility of language means. Grammatical features of a lexical unit can be described with the help of the tagset, i.e., analytical morphological label. Similarly, it is possible to describe a complete grammeme on the principle of fractals, including inner structure of each grammatical category and their values with the help of sets of grammatical-semantic properties. Grammatical-semantic properties bound on lexical forms are not isolated from lexical-semantic features: the first can be considered as a result of grammaticalization of the latter. From the chosen point of view, the construction of grammar from a semantic basis seems to be as a multi-level phenomenon to such a level in which grammatical-semantic properties are based on similarity and contrast in the area of lexical-semantic properties.

Alice BalestrinoSapienza University of Rome Placing Time, Timing Space. Memory as Border and Line of (Hi)Stories in Richard McGuire’s Graphic Narrative Here.  This article interrogates the Cartesian understanding of time and space in narratives grounded in memorial endeavors. It focuses on the lines that define the interconnectedness between these two dimensions in relation to the introduction of the phenomenological category of memory as a third element providing a perspective on reality and blurring the borders between present and past; here and there. This composite, operative category is tested in the analysis of Richard McGuire’s graphic narrative Here (2014) that, both on the level of the format and on that of the story, outlines the porosity and the ultimate disappearance of the spatiotemporal borders by means of memories. This work conceives of a historical simultaneity that soaks a particular space in its past and of the margins of contingency that separate what pertains to History, what to individual stories and what gets forgotten instead – a representation which is studied against the background of Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari’s speculations on memory in A Thousand Plateaus. Keywords: Spacetime as a narrative category, Richard McGuire, Here, The American border

The paper presents a selection of indexes describing financial standing of households. Based on their values the analyzed aggregate units (socio-economic groups of different size) were classified into classes of a similar financial position.
W pracy przedstawiono dobór zmiennych opisujących sytuację finansową gospodarstw domowych. Na podstawie wartości tych wskaźników dokonano klasyfikacji badanych jednostek agregatowych (grupy społeczno-ekonomiczne o różnej liczebności) w klasy o podobnej sytuacji finansowej. Podstawą do analizy i określenia sytuacji finansowej polskich gospodarstw domowych w 2006 roku była ocena kształtowania się realnych dochodów rozporządzalnych oraz analiza struktury wydatków, przypadających miesięcznie na jednego członka gospodarstwa domowego.

Opis:

We show that the Vietoris system of a space is isomorphic to a strong expansion of that space in the Steenrod homotopy category, and from this we derive a simple description of strong homology. It is proved that in ZFC strong homology does not have compact supports, and that enforcing compact supports by taking limits leads to a homology functor that does not factor over the strong shape category. For compact Hausdorff spaces strong homology is proved to be isomorphic to Massey's homology.

The give article is devoted to the study of the peculiarities of intertexual relations and the specificity of their functioning in the publicistic text by Andrey Bitov. Intertextuality is a basic category of text in postmodernism where the ways of including fragments from other texts, culture realia, historical event are determined by author’s strategy. Any text often appears as a response to already existing works, as a feedback to it in the dialogue between the texts, includes and transforms a ”new word” acquiring at that semantic multiplicity. Intertextual elements allow not only to identify the author’s idiostyle, but also to study the processes of cross-level relations themselves, to reveal mental units and precedent texts existing in linguistic cognition and objectivized in the language.

Na współczesnym etapie rozwoju metodyki wykładania języka rosyjskiego jako nauki zachodzą zmiany tradycyjnego rozumienia poznawczych procesów. Ponieważ w podstawie kształtowania obrazu świata jako całokształtu reprezentacji kognitywnych leży przyrodnicze zapotrzebowanie na poznanie świata, to podstawą poznawczych dążeń młodszych uczniów powinien być aktywny twórczy początek z użyciem takich myślowych operacji, jak porównanie, analiza (utożsamienie/ analogia), rozgraniczenie/inność), systematyzacja (klasyfikacja przedmiotów, kategoryzacja pojęć). Autorka artykułu rozpatruje tematyczne związki słów, które służą odzwierciedleniu zasad klasyfikacji zjawisk rzeczywistości, formujących się w świadomości ucznia w jego poznawczej działalności. Podkreśla, że podstawą tematycznego ugrupowania słów jest nie tylko przedmiotowy szereg i jego oznaczenie, ale również interpretacja przedmiotów i pojęć o przedmiotach w przedmiotowej i/albo poznawczej działalności ucznia. Ponieważ wszystkie rodzaje związków semantycznych pomiędzy leksemami służą najważniejszej zasadzie organizacji słownika w świadomości człowieka, to wiedza tematycznej grupy słów jako komponent językowej wiedzy o świecie pozwala uczniowi zrozumieć rzeczywistość, wyrażoną w kategoriach pojęciowych, które mogą mieć, w większym czy mniejszym stopniu, charakter szczególny. Tezaurus młodszych ludzi opiera się na wiedzy grup tematycznych jako komponentów językowej wiedzy o świecie, co pozwala uczniowi w konkretnej sytuacji posługiwać się językiem rosyjskim i wybrać najbardziej odpowiednie leksykalne jednostki w ramach leksykalnego tematu; wykorzystać elitarne leksykalne jednostki w tekście z uwzględnieniem łączności ich z innymi wyrazami; wykorzystać tematyczną leksykę stosownie z zaistniałą sytuacją i komunikacją. Jądrową część leksykalnej kompetencji młodszego ucznia przedstawiają przedmiotowe imiona, mogące być zestawionymi z rzeczywistością. Zwrócenie do tezaurusa młodszego ucznia jako osoby językowej pozwala uwzględniać jego potrzeby komunikacyjne i zdolności do opanowania języka rosyjskiego, a również proces kształtowania ucznia jako osoby językowej.
At the present stage of development of a technique of teaching Russian as sciences there is a reconsideration of traditional understanding of informative processes which are considered as the concept (mechanism) of reflection. As at the heart of formation of an image of the world as sets of cognitive representations the natural need for knowledge of the world, is the cornerstone of cognitive interest of younger school students there has to be an active creative beginning with use of such cogitative operations as comparison, the analysis (identification / analogy), differentiation / distinction), systematization (classification of objects, a categorization of concepts). In article thematic communications of words which serve as reflection of the general principles of classification of the phenomena of reality which are formed in consciousness of the trainee in cognitive activity are considered. It is noted that is the cornerstone of thematic group of words not only a subject number and designation, but also judgment of objects and concepts about objects during subject and/or cognitive activity of the trainee. As all types of semantic links between lexemes serve as the most important principle of the organization of the dictionary in consciousness of the person, knowledge the trainee of a theme group of words as component of language knowledge of the world allows it to comprehend reality, the idea of reality expressed in conceptual categories which can be more or less fractional. The Tezaurusny type of the organization of knowledge of younger school students assumes knowledge of theme groups as components of language knowledge of the world that allows the pupil in a concrete situation of communication in Russian: to choose the most suitable lexical units within a lexical subject; to use the chosen lexical units in the text taking into account their compatibility with in other words and the transferred cogitative information; to use thematic lexicon according to communication situations. A nuclear part of lexical competence of the younger school student is represented by the subject names having correlation to reality. The addressing the thesaurus of the language identity of the younger school student allows to consider his communicative requirements and to connect in one uniform process of assimilation of Russian as nonnative and process of formation of the language identity of the trainee.

Opis:

For n-ary hyperalgebras we study a binary operation of exponentiation which to a given pair of n-ary hyperalgebras assigns their power, i.e., an n-ary hyperalgebra carried by the corresponding set of homomorphisms. We give sufficient conditions for the existence of such a power and for a decent behaviour of the exponentiation. As a consequence of our investigations we discover a cartesian closed subcategory of the category of n-ary hyperalgebras and homomorphisms between them.

Opis:

The results of the study of the macrophytes of the rivers Turia, Vyzhivka and Tsyr, the right-bank tributaries of the upper reaches of the Pripet River, are presented. The species composition of aquatic and coastal aquatic vascular plants was investigated during the vegetation seasons of 2018 and 2019 at 9 observation points located along the rivers from the source to the mouth. The most numerous species composition, 57 species, was found in the Turia River, 36 in the Vyzhivka River, and 28 species were identified in the Tsyr River. The macrophyte index for rivers (Pol.: makrofitowy indeks rzeczny - MIR) was determined from the results, and the ecological state of the rivers was assessed according to the methodology of the macrophyte assessment of rivers (Pol.: makrofitowa metoda oceny rzek - MMOR). The investigation showed that water quality in the Turia River on sites No. 1, 3 and 4 belongs to class III, satisfactory category. The surface water quality on site No. 2 of the Turia River belongs to class II, a good category. The water quality in the Vyzhivka River on all test sites belongs to class II, a good category, which testifies to favourable ecological conditions for the development of higher aquatic plants along the whole course. The water quality in the Tsyr River on test site No. 8 (Kamin-Kashyrskyi, upper course) corresponds to class II, good category. On test site No. 9 (middle course), the quality of surface waters of the Tsyr River worsens to the class III, satisfactory category.

The author understands word-formation as a system of formal means for lexicalization, i.e. for creation of new lexemes and enriching the inventories of the lexical semantic categories. The author of the text analyzes the strategies of provincializing the Polish feminism and gender studies. Starting points for interpretations in the article are Dipesh Chakrabarty’s book – Provincializing Europe. Let K be a Hutchinson fractal in a complete metric space X, invariant under the action S of the union of a finite number of Lipschitz contractions. The Open Set Condition states that X has a non-empty subinvariant bounded open subset V, whose images under the maps are disjoint. It is said to be strong if V meets K. We show by a category argument that when K ⊄ V and the restrictions of the contractions to V are open, the strong condition implies that [formula] termed the core of V, is non-empty. In this case, it is an invariant, proper, dense, subset of K, made up of points whose addresses are unique. Conversely, [formula] implies the SOSC, without any openness assumption.

Zarządzanie logistyczne kategoriami produktów to wyzwanie dla menedżerów logistyki XXI wieku. Zmiany w podejściu do postrzegania produktów przez klientów polegające na przeniesieniu punktu ciężkości z pojedynczych produktów na powiązane w ramach kategorii grupy wymaga wdrażania zmian również w systemach logistycznych przedsiębiorstw dystrybucyjnych. Działania te powinny być oparte na jednoznacznie wskazanych strukturach kategorii ujawniających istnienie statystycznych powiązań miedzy produktami. Niniejsze opracowanie podnosi temat etapów tworzenia struktur kategorii oraz obszarów ich wpływu na przepływy towarów i informacji w procesach logistycznych przedsiębiorstw dystrybucyjnych.
Logistics management of product categories becomes a challenge for the managers of 21st century logistics. The changes in the way the customers perceive products, which involves shifting the focus from individual products to category linked groups of products, require implementation of changes in logistics systems of distribution undertakings as well. These activities should be based on explicitly indicated category structures showing the existence of statistical connections between the products. This article raises the issue of stages of creating category structures and areas in which they influence the movement of goods and information in logistics processes of distribution undertakings.

The subject of reflection is, first, the work of Jozef Lobodovski (1909–1988), a Polish poet, prose writer, journalist, and translator and, second, an international conference that took place on March 21–22, 2019, at the Faculty of Humanities of Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of his birth. From his infancy, the writer was associated with Lublin but spent most of his life abroad, in Spain. His attitude is characterised by universalism understood as tolerance towards nations in the cultural and religious context, as well as an uncompromising, stubborn struggle for the freedom of nations conquered by Soviet imperialism. A distinct feature of his interests is the East Slavonic problem, especially the Ukrainian one. During the meeting, 16 papers were delivered by scientists from Poland, Ukraine, and Spain. The programme of the conference included a violin concert (performed by the younger generation of the writer’s family) and recitations, performed by the UMCS students of Ukrainian philology, of works and poetic translations by Jozef Lobodovski, as well as of translations of his poetry into Ukrainian. The aim of the activities undertaken is not only to promote the artist with an exceptionally rich artistic and journalistic achievements but also to preserve the memory of him as a man of international dialogue, a humanist and a patriot, a noteworthy literary figure of Lublin during the interwar period, and a political emigrant who was banned in the Polish People’s Republic.

Opis:

The topic of this paper is so-called Partitive Genitive (PG) as a verbal compliment, which is one oft the most characteristic syntactic constructions of the Polish language and of the others Slavic languages. PG is typical of spoken language and compatibel only with restricted class of perfective verbs. Different frames and a short characteristic of the subject in the Polish linguistic literature were presented. Reflections in the main part of the article are limited to a selected morphological, syntactic and semantic phenomenon of PG with perfective and imperfective verbs. The possible equivalents of Polish PG in German were also presented.
