W artykule zostało przedstawione zagadnienie zarządzania w dziedzinie transportu samochodowego towarów na przykładzie firmy Röhlig Suus Logistics. Głównym celem artykułu było omówienie zarządzania transportem samochodowym towarów oraz przedstawienie wyników badania ankietowego. Problem główny został przedstawiony w formie pytania: W jaki sposób można optymalizować zarządzanie transportem samochodowym towarów? Artykuł powstał na podstawie analizy literatury z zakresu zarządzania i transportu, a także przeglądu Internetu w poszukiwaniu treści. W rezultacie opisano zarządzanie transportem samochodowym towarów oraz przedstawiono wyniki badania ankietowego mającego na celu sprawdzenie, który z obszarów firmy wymaga usprawnienia. Wnioski wynikają z interpretacji zgromadzonych treści. Implikacją płynącą z rozważań autorki jest twierdzenie, że zarządzanie transportem samochodowym towarów jest procesem nieskończonym.
This article is dedicated to road cargo transport taking as an example Röhlig Suus Logistics. The main aim of the paper was to discuss the cargo road transport management as well as to discuss questionnaire results. The main issue was presented in the form of a question: How to optimise the management of the cargo road transport? The article is based on a literature review covering management and transport, as well as Internet research. The investigation allowed an outline of management of the cargo road transportation and a presentation of questionnaire results obtained in a survey aimed at verifying which company department needs to increase its efficiency. The conclusions are based on the compiled information. The implication emerging from the author’s contemplations is a conclusion that management of the cargo road transport is an endless process.

This paper gives an overview of some chosen aspects of the market recognition of road cargo transport services in Poland, assumed that there is a possibility of a change in the functioning of small and medium companies. The opportunities, threats, strengths and weaknesses of companies in the sector of hire or reward road cargo transport in Poland and in the EU-15 member states have been compared and the results of this comparison are shown in the SWOT analysis format.

W artykule przedstawiono koncepcję systemu oceny stylu jazdy kierowcy w oparciu o dane telematyczne, rejestrowane przez terminal GPS zainstalowany w pojeździe. Koncepcja obejmuje zespół wskaźników oceny, metod ich pomiaru oraz algorytm oceniający styl jazdy kierowcy prowadzącego pojazd, służący do drogowego przewozu towarów według zasad techniki prowadzenia pojazdu ecodriving (z jęz. ang.: jazda oszczędna). Koncepcja systemu zakłada, że kierowca będzie oceniany według zaproponowanych parametrów, a jego końcowa ocena zostanie sprowadzona do mierzalnej i porównywalnej wartości liczbowej, dzięki której może być porównywany z innymi kierowcami oraz z wynikami archiwalnymi konkretnego kierowcy. Symulacja działania algorytmu została przeprowadzona na rzeczywistych danych telematycznych udostępnionych przez jedną z małopolskich firm przewozowych na przykładzie 11 kierowców.
The article presents the concept of a driver's driving style assessment system based on telematic data recorded by the GPS terminal installed in the vehicle. The concept includes a set of assessment indicators, methods of measuring them and an algorithm that evaluates the driving style of a driver driving a vehicle, used for road carriage of goods according to the principles of ecodriving techniques. The concept of the system assumes that the driver will be assessed according to the proposed parameters, and its final assessment will be presented in a measurable and comparable numerical value, thanks to which it can be compared with other drivers and archival results of a specific driver. The simulation of the algorithm's operation has been carried out on actual telematics data provided by one of the Małopolska transport companies on the example of 11 drivers.

The purpose of this article is to present measures related to the load securing on European level. The road transport plays significant role in Europe. With the increasing volume of goods carried by road the number of vehicles are increasing and also the number of accidents involving trucks. The appropriate load securing increases the safety of road freight transport. European Best Practice Guidelines on Cargo Securing for Road Transport issued by European Commission are the first document on European level offering the load securing information. There is also a lack of load securing training for truck drivers in most of the EU member states. In most member states the load securing is not the part of the training to obtain truck driving licence. The directive 2003/59/EC on the initial qualification and periodic training of drivers of certain road vehicles for the carriage of goods or passengers shall improve the situation. The education of truck drivers from load securing began since September 2009. The standard EN 12195-1 offers calculation base to design load securing arrangements. There were cases when it has created unreasonable demands for load securing. The standard has been revised and finally published in May 2011. However, still the differences between the designs according to the EN 12195-1, methods using in Nordic countries, Germany and according to the IMO/ILO/UN ECE Guidelines on packing of cargo transport units exists. European Best Practice Guidelines on Cargo Securing for Road Transport are need to be revised to reflect the development in the area of load securing.

The paper deals with problems connected with the transportation of dangerous cargo in articulated road tankers. The problems related to transverse stability of articulated vehicles have been discussed. The rig and experimental tests carried out to explore the transverse stability problem have been presented. Attention has been paid to the specificity of articulated road tankers. The necessity of rig and field testing of vehicles of this kind has been emphasized. The specificity of the transportation of such articulated vehicles by sea has been highlighted.

Celem artykułu jest identyfikacja zasadniczych kategorii konkurencyjności przedsiębiorstw ciężarowego transportu samochodowego Polski oraz ocena kluczowych czynników decydujących o podjęciu konkurencji z innymi podmiotami na rynku międzynarodowym. W realizacji celu głównego wykorzystano studia literaturowe, analizę danych wtórnych oraz wyniki badań własnych. Uzyskane rezultaty wskazują, iż ciężarowy transport samochodowy Polski ma duży potencjał w dążeniu do dalszego rozwoju. Obecna sytuacja gospodarcza Europy sprzyja jego ekspansji na rynku przewozów międzynarodowych. Utrzymanie pozycji na europejskim rynku napotyka jednak znaczące bariery związane z ryzykiem legislacyjnym, dużą wrażliwością na sytuację gospodarczą Europy oraz niedoborem kierowców. Czynniki te mogą stanowić realne zagrożenie dla konkurencyjności ciężarowego transportu samochodowego Polski.
The aim of this article is to identify the essential categories of competitiveness of Poland’s trucking companies as well as to evaluate the key drivers of competition with other players in the international market. Literature studies, data analysis, and own research results were used to achieve the main objective. The results show that Poland’s trucking industry has great potential for further development. Europe’s current economic situation is supporting its expansion into the international transport market. However maintaining a position on the European market encounters significant barriers to legislative risk, high sensitivity to Europe’s economic situation, and shortages of drivers. These factors can be a real threat to the competitiveness of Poland’s trucking industry.

The role of air transport in logistics and supply chains seems difficult to be overestimated. In recent years increasing amounts of cargo have been transported by air. Numerous high-tech devices, valuable equipment, medical products and appliances are transported by air. The main advantage of air transport is speed but also broad transportation geography, high reliability and security of goods supplies and continuous monitoring of cargo flows. Air transport can be organized in a traditional way, however there are also some unconventional methods to handle such transport processes. The RFS model (Road Feeder Service) comes as a response to the demands of the contemporary market of logistics services. Scopes: The subject of the paper is the presentation of an unconventional way of organizing the carriage of goods by air, presenting its attractiveness to all parties involved in the transportation process, as well as directions of its development. Methodology: The methodology of the paper is based on 2 dimensions: analysis and synthesis. The first phase included a thorough thematic literature review, analysis of case studies of Polish air cargo market. It was complemented by interviewing airlines representatives about RFS solutions. In the synthetic phase, the study provided conclusions based on the theoretical analysis and the survey of case study. Results: Results of the research shows RFS solution, involving transportation of cargo (commissioned by airlines) by trucks from regional airports to major cargo airports, referred to as hubs, and then transportation of cargo by air, using is caused by the necessity of increasing cargo transport efficiency by the airlines. It is also important to note the willingness of airports, both hubs and regional, to cooperate with air carriers in the area of air cargo handling in RFS model.

Medzinárodná organizácia pre cestnú dopravu (IRU) poukazuje, že 75% celkového objemu tovaru, čo je približne 18 miliárd ton tovaru, sa ročne prepravuje cestnou dopravou. To znamená, že existuje obrovský rastový potenciál pre prevádzkovateľov parkovísk, ktorí reagujú na výzvy k väčšej bezpečnosti. Práca vodiča cestnej nákladnej dopravy patrí medzi jednu z najrizikovejších prác. K možným rizikám, ktoré ohrozujú vodičov patria napríklad klimatické podmienky, technický stav vozovky, technický stav vozidla, agresívna jazda, alkohol, únava, atď. A práve únave sa dá predísť správnou organizáciou pracovného času a dostatočne dlhým odpočinkom. Odpočinok by mal byť naplánovaný tak, aby sa predišlo ďalším ohrozeniam spojených s prepravou tovaru. Výberom bezpečného parkoviska sa dá znížiť riziko krádeže, či lúpeže tovaru alebo vozidla. Medzinárodné štatistiky ukazujú, že 42% zo všetkých krádeží sa stanú na nestráženom parkovisku. V článku popisujem plánovanie odpočinku na bezpečnom parkovisku ako jeden z dôležitých prvkov bezpečnej prepravy tovaru.
