Vibrations have become an important factor of vehicles. Vibration tests help identify, and then tune the automotive vehicle to improve the structural strength. Due to the increasing development of vehicles and machines and their widespread use. Increased research-using vibrations due to their low or zero interference with the vehicle under test. Vibration testing is often carried out using Laser Doppler Vibrometry (LDV), a device that is used for contactless measurement of vibration on the surface. The laser beam is directed from the device to the surface of interest, and the amplitude and frequency of vibration are extracted from the Doppler shift frequency of the reflected laser beam due to the movement surface. High values of vibration transmitted from the engine, and the way significantly affect the body of the vehicle and the driver. Article presents results of research carried out on vehicles powered by three different engines and rpm. Tests were carried out on an engine dynamometer in the same environmental conditions. Two of engines were with spark ignition, including one with a supercharged engine and compression ignition engine. The measurements were made using the Laser Doppler Vibrometry using Fast Fourier Transform. The spectrum obtained is used for further analysis to determine the acceleration level at various frequencies. Obtained from Fast Fourier Transform readings used for drawing graphs of frequency V acceleration. The results of the study are interesting and promising, as they show a significant difference in the velocity for spark ignition engines and compression-ignition.

In this paper, sliding mode control (SMC) algorithms are tested for their use in an active car suspension system. Using the quarter model of the car as an example, the comparison of the efficiency of the algorithms is made. A continuous and two discrete versions of the sliding mode control are taken into consideration. The study is limited to finding the relation between the control parameters and the comfort factor. This is done by analyzing the response of the model to the harmonic and impulse excitation.

The paper presents possibility of virtual car suspension model building in Adams/Car software. The front McPherson suspension with rack and pinion steering system and semi-trailing arm rear suspension of Fiat Seicento car was presented.

In this paper, analysis of a half-car model with linear and nonlinear semi-active dampers is performed. Using Matlab-Simulink software, a response of the system to a harmonic excitation of variable frequency and to an impulse excitation is found. The effect of both the distribution of spring-supported mass and the asymmetry of the support on the frequency characteristics of velocities and displacements at the mounting points of the dampers are analyzed. Additionally, characteristics of forces generated by the semi-active dampers and the response of the system when crossing an obstacle are determined.

The article presents the transmission of a truck, whereinnovativerepairkits of the driveshaft crosspiece are used. The crosspiece is an element of the transmission, and transmits all the torque from the gearbox to the wheels of the car, therefore it is a heavily loaded part. A mathematical model has been developed that describes in detail the process of changing the size of a movable conical spring insert in a sliding bearing used in the mechanism of the cardan shaft crosspiece. The innovative repair kit is designed to improve performance by introducing an elastic intermediate element into the bearing. This element is a movable insert in the form of a helical or conical spring, and its compressible force is adjustable. This creates a tight seal on the working surfaces, preventing oxidative processes and activation of microplastic deformation of the surface.

In this paper, an analysis is performed on a quarter-car model of car suspension with semi- -active and active damper utilizing the sliding mode (SMC) and linear-quadratic control (LQR). The effect of control parameters and time delays in the transmission of control signal on the factors related to the safety and comfort of driving is investigated. The results obtained from numerical simulations are shown in form of frequency characteristics for several selected performance factors.

The subject of analysis is the process of hex cap screws forming designed to fix suspension arm bushing in a motor car. Due to specified requirements set on elements of that type have to meet, both in the scope of size and shape accuracy as well as mechanic properties of material, cold forging closed-die process is applied. Analysis of such process including the application of Finite Element Method in the form of software package DEFORM-3D was conducted. Results of the analysis may help to choose the number and sequence of technological operations, their parameters and the proper shape of tools. The paper presents: suspension arm assembly, computer model presenting screw cold forging technology, work-hardening curve for AISI-1010 (ISO-C10) steel, boundary conditions of simulation, FEM model parameters in the subsequent phases of the process, analysis of accuracy of geometrical measures of screw obtained in simulations of particular phases of the process, discrete and actual model of obtained screw, the form of stained net of the hex cap screw with visible ZY central plane in its section, deformation distribution in screw head after second upsetting process, change in strain rate of the screw in time, filling of pass die, stress fields in screw determined in accordance with Huber's hypothesis, force of screw head upsetting in the function of the travel of the upper die.

The article presents a study of the influence of vehicle’s conditions of use, such as road class, vehicle speed or its load, on its vertical dynamic responses. In the article only the kinematic excitations were analysed, as these are more common than the dynamic ones. The road profiles were artificially generated according to the ISO 8608 standard, which classifies roads based on power spectral density of excitations which they generate. Ride safety, ride comfort and fatigue strength indicators were computed. Ride safety was defined by the DLC – Dynamic Load Coefficient. Ride comfort was judged taking into consideration the recommendations from the ISO 2631 standard (which contains the information on vibration frequencies and their effect on human body, as well as the allowed exposure times to given vibrations) by calculating root mean square values of sprung mass accelerations for bandwidths defined in the standard. Load spectrums for the fatigue analysis were created using forces generated in a simulation as a basis and further research venues were proposed. Lastly conclusions were drawn from the results, that imply that linear models are sufficient for many standard applications on roads of acceptable quality, however the use of non-linear models is recommended in fatigue strength analysis regardless of conditions of use.

Za pomocą tego stanowiska można zbadać zachowanie się uszkodzonego przegubu kulistego (z luzem), a mianowicie oszacować współczynnik restytucji w przypadku uderzenia prostego, środkowego dla par różnych materiałów.
In the article it is presented the research position to study the process if hitting of the round joint, which is used in the arrangement of bearing car vehicle. Using this position it is possible to study the behaviour of the broken-down round joint (with neutrality), it gives possibility to value the coefficient of restitution in the case of teh straight hitting, middle for the pairs of different materials.
