    The purpose of this article is to redefine the category of “contamination”, entrenched in the tradition of literary reportage. Due to the process of genre blurring, the original meaning of the term (the one connected with the presence of creational elements in the reporter’s writings) has now been replaced by a more complex definition. The author creates the hypothesis that the “contamination” of contemporary reportage is caused also by the increase of subjective and emotional factors in journalistic narration. To illustrate this assumption, the article provides an analysis of the book Zapiski na biletach. Written by the Polish reporter Michał Olszewski the book serves as an example of genetic changes of the reportage convention.

    Opis:
    Automatic identification method of the blur type is an important stage in automatic restoring and segmentation of partially blurred images. This article describes automatic identification method of blurred images that also allows to estimate the blur angle parameter. This method contains five steps: 1) applying modified Sobel operator to the input image; 2) image cutting on perimeter in order to eliminate the negative effects occurred at the previous step; 3) construction sequentially blurred image’s versions from the step 2 with fixed radius; 4) similarity measure calculation of sequentially blurred image’s versions along with original image; 5) estimation of the criterion value. Method has been tested and has shown correct result in more than 90% of input images, and the average angle’s error does not exceed more than 8 degrees.
    Metoda automatycznej identyfikacji typu rozmycia jest ważnym etapem w zagadnieniach automatycznego przywracania i segmentacji obrazów częściowo zniekształconych. W artykule rozpatrzono metodę automatycznej identyfikacji obrazów rozmytych pozwalającą również określić kąt rozmycia. Metoda ta obejmuje pięć kroków: 1) zastosowanie do wejściowego obrazu zmodyfikowanego operatora Sobela; 2) cięcie obrazu na obwodzie w celu wyeliminowania negatywnych skutków występujących w poprzednim kroku; 3) budowa kolejno wersji obrazów rozmytych z kroku 2 zachowując zdefiniowany stały promień; 4) obliczenie miary podobieństwa wersji obrazów kolejno rozmytych z oryginalnym obrazem; 5) wyznaczenie wartości kryterium. Testowanie metody wykazało prawidłowy wynik w ponad 90% obrazów wejściowych, a średni błąd określenia kąta rozmycia nie przekracza 8 stopni.

    The purpose of the article is to present the complexity of the notion of globalisation and the many definitions of this phenomenon. The article presents positions of various authors, including a rich set of variables that determine them. It highlights the importance of blurring boundaries, permeation of cultures, closer relations and multiplicity of interactions on a micro and macro scale. It emphasizes the topic of values and self-awareness of modern human beings in the context of the numerous possibilities and options of choice, as well as its relation to diversity and “Otherness”. It attempts to define the aspirations of contemporary human beings by analysing the dichotomy of autonomy and dependence. Globalisation is described as a phenomenon widely developed and still progressing, carrying both opportunities and risks.

    The paper discusses issues related to communication via the Internet in the process of building an organization's image. The authors focus on the preparatory actions and strategic decisions that need to be taken so that long-term communication with Internet users could lead to expected results. The authors also point out to possibilities and ways of using the available tools and present in the selected case studies successful image-enhancing actions. When on 1 January 1983 a decision was taken to merge the ARPAnet and CSNET, giving rise to the nternet, hardy anyone realised the world was about to change beyond recognition. Within the two following decades the idea of computer connection reached out to practically all fields of human activity. With its ever widening availability, the new communication technology has become a natural environment for dialogue, information exchange and, consequently, the opinion forum. Today every subject hat actively functions in public space, be it a company, an institution or an individual, must think about eing present online (to a larger or lesser extent). This means, whether we like it or not, that our images co-created by the Internet.

    The present work is devoted to the analysis of the directions of contemporary cultural changes, their nature, causes, consequences and conflicts arising on the background of the processes. The structure of work includes an introduction, six chapters, and a summary. To resolve the problem of the research, the following methods has been applied: analysis of the literature and press reports, and direct and indirect observation. The survey of literature on the subject allowed the juxtaposition of the author’s own thoughts and observations with previous research findings. The method consisting in the synthesis of scattered information and observation was applied.
    Celem przeprowadzonej analizy jest próba identyfikacji i zdefiniowania kierunków współczesnych przemian kulturowych, ich istoty, przyczyn i konsekwencji oraz konfliktów powstałych na tle przedstawionych procesów. Konflikty te dotyczą zarówno styku różnych kultur, jak i odmiennych postaw wobec coraz szybszego tempa zmian i ich kierunków w ramach jednego kręgu społeczno-kulturowego.Struktura pracy obejmuje wstęp, sześć rozdziałów i zakończenie.W rozwiązaniu problemu badawczego przyjęto następujące metody i techniki badawcze: analizę literatury przedmiotu i doniesień prasowych, metodę wzorca oraz obserwację bezpośrednią i pośrednią. Kwerenda literatury przedmiotu umożliwiła konfrontację własnych przemyśleń i obserwacji z dotychczasowymi ustaleniami badawczymi. Wykorzystano również metodę polegającą na syntetyzowaniu rozproszonych informacji i obserwacji oraz formułowaniu na tej podstawie określonych wniosków opartych na zasadach analizy logicznej i dedukcji.

    Opis:
    Vehicles with cold storage chambers realize the transport of fast spoil articles. The cooling system of such chamber is its critical subsystem, the essential component of which is a cooling aggregate driven by vehicle combustion engine via belt transmission. The main assembly of the analysed aggregate was the axial five-piston compressor. Small aluminum pistons were led in cylinders in fixed head made of aluminum alloy. Such pistons were driven through steel tappets, mating through their spherical surfaces with spherical seats made in small pistons. Through their front surfaces, placed opposite to the spherical surfaces, the spatial disc cam made of aluminum alloy drove small pistons. The cam was mounted on the steel shaft. The co-operation of described parts was in presence of refrigerant oil. The abrasive and fatigue wear of elements occurred. Because of long-term utilizing of the aggregate the damage of radial sealing ring occurred. Then, external impurities of high hardness got into the contact zone between the mating surfaces. The main aim of the study was to analyse consequences of such fact. The failure was noticed in the form of wear of disc cam, front surfaces of tappets, and the plastic deformation in the spherical surfaces of the seats. Then, due to deformation and the displacements of the rotating shaft, wear of the side surface of disc cam during contacts with small pistons surfaces took place. Moreover, we noticed wear of the side surfaces of the pistons and the cylinders mating with them in the fixed head. In the article, we present figures of damaged surfaces of elements and results of the SEM analysis of spherical surfaces of tappets. The material transfer occurred between the spherical surfaces of tappets and their seats.

    The multiply-accumulator (MAC) unit is the basic integral computational block in every digital image and digital signal processor. As the demand grows, it is essential to design these units in an efficient manner to build a successful processor. By considering this into account, a power-efficient, high-speed MAC unit is presented in this paper. The proposed MAC unit is a combination of a two-phase clocked modified sequential multiplier and a carry-save adder (CSA) followed by an accumulator register. A novel two-phase clocked modified sequential multiplier is introduced in the multiplication stage to reduce the power and computation time. For image blurring, these multiplier and adder blocks are subsequently incorporated into the MAC unit. The experimental results demonstrated that the proposed design reduced the power consumption by % and improved the computation time by % than the conventional architectures. The developed MAC unit is implemented using standard CMOS technology using CADENCE RTL compiler, synthesized using XILINX ISE and the image blurring effect is analyzed using MATLAB.

    Artykuł omawia kwestie związane z procesem komunikowania poprzez Internet w procesie budowania wizerunku organizacji. Autorzy zwracają uwagę na to, jakie działania poprzedzające oraz decyzje strategiczne należy podjąć aby długofalowa komunikacja z internautami mogła prowadzić do uzyskania oczekiwanych efektów. Wskazują również na możliwości i sposoby wykorzystania dostępnych narzędzi, a także na bazie case study, pokazują przykłady udanych działań wizerunkowych. Kiedy 1 stycznia 1983 roku zdecydowano o połączeniu, jakie następnie się dokonało, pomiędzy ARPA-net a CSNET1, co uważa się za początek Internetu, raczej nikt nie zdawał sobie sprawy, że od tego właśnie momentu, już nic nie będzie takie jak dawniej. Tymczasem w ciągu dwóch kolejnych dekad, idea połączeń pomiędzy komputerami objęła bez mała wszystkie dziedziny aktywności ludzi. Jako nowa technologia komunikowania, z czasem dostępna niemal dla każdego, sieć stała się naturalnym środowiskiem dialogu, wymiany informacji, a zatem również kreowania opinii. Współcześnie każdy podmiot, który aktywnie funkcjonuje w przestrzeni publicznej, firma, instytucja, osoba, musi rozważać swój sposób obecności w sieci (w mniejszym lub większym zakresie), a to już oznacza, chcemy tego czy nie, że jej wizerunek jest współtworzony przez Internet.

    Image restoration is the process of estimating the original image content from a degraded picture. In this paper, the Richardson-Lucy iterative algorithm was developed to improve the quality of degraded medical images. It has been assumed that medical images are exposed to two types of degradation. The first type is the blur function in the Gaussian form with different widths, i.e. σ = 1 , 2, and 3. The second type of degradation was assumed to be of the independent white Gaussian noise type with different signal-to-noise ratio values: SNR = 10, 50 , and 100. The results obtained from the adaptive filter are compared, quantitatively, with different conventional filters: inverse, Wiener, and constraint least square, by applying different measures, such as: power signal to noise ratio (PSNR), structural similarity index (SSID), and root mean square error (RMSE). The comparison showed that the adaptive recovery filter achieves better results.
