Opis:
The field experiment was conducted in the years of 2012–2014 in the Agricultural Experimental Station Zawady belonging to the University of Natural Sciences and Humanities in Siedlce. The two factor experiment was set up in the split-plot system in triplicate. The investigated factors were: I – three varieties of edible potato: Bartek, Gawin and Honorata. II – five ways of care: 1. Harrier herbicide 295 ZC – 2.0 dm3·ha-1; 2. Harrier herbicide 295 ZC – 2.0 dm3·ha-1 with the biostimulator Kelpak SL – 4.0 dm3·ha-1; 3. Sencor herbicide 70 WG – 1.0 kg·ha-1; 4. Sencor herbicide 70 WG – 1.0 kg·ha-1 with the biostimulator Asahi SL – 1.5 dm3·ha-1; 5. The control object – mechanical care. The content of zinc and copper and their collection with the yield of tubers significantly depended on the ways of care, genetic factor and climatic conditions in the years of the study. In the objects (2, 4) where herbicides were used with biostimulators, a greater concentration of zinc was obtained in relation to the control object and the remaining (3, 5) in which only herbicides were used. The applied care methods did not affect the content of copper in the analysed tubers. The greatest collection of zinc an copper with the yield of tubers was obtained in the objects: where the mixture of the Sencor herbicide 70 WG – 1.0 kg·ha-1 was used with the biostimulator Asahi SL – 1.5 dm3-1 and herbicide Sencor 70 WG in a dose of – 1.0 kg ·ha-1.

Opis:
In recent years there is a trend in industry to limit the usage of chemical compounds. Natural polymers are new promising materials that possess important properties like biodegrability or lack of toxicity. Radiation processing of natural occurring polymers is an area of current research for development of new applications. The aim of this study was to determine the impact of ionizing radiation modification on bioactivity of a natural polysaccharide. Chitosan with different molecular weights was investigated as a biostimulator – a biologically active substance that stimulates some growth processes in plants. Chitosan in solid state was irradiated with electron beam from an electron beam accelerator Elektronika 10-10 with a dose range from 50 to 300 kGy. The effects of irradiation on the molecular weight of chitosan were investigated by viscosity and GPC measurements. Non-irradiated and irradiated chitosan at concentrations 0.001, 0.01, 0.1 and 1 g/dm3 were used for greenhouse tests of its activity for growth promotion of Salix viminalis L. var. gigantea plant. Uniform rooted cuttings (20 per combination) were selected for the test and cultivated in aerated hydroponics culture containing Hoagland’s nutrient solutions plus respective amounts of chitosan. After six weeks of plant exposure to chitosan, data of selected parameters of plant growth were collected. In most cases, except the highest concentration, both forms of chitosan had stimulatory effect on leaf area, length of roots and of newly developed shoots. Also fresh and dry weights of these organs were greater in chitosan treated plants. The highest concentration of chitosan was stimulatory only for a number of roots and newly developed shoots while for other parameters was inhibitory. In comparable concentrations the stimulatory effect was greater for chitosan irradiated in comparison with the non-irradiated one.

Opis:
New solutions which would allow for the realization of two basic objectives, i.e. production-related and environmental ones, continue to be sought in plant production. Hence, the purpose of research was to define the impact of five methods of potato field treatment with the application of growth biostimulators and herbicide on the content and harvest of major protein Solanum tuberosum L. Field experiments were carried out in the years 2015-2016 in the region of Eastern Poland (52°02’N; 23°07’E). The experiment was performed in the split-plot system in three replications. The tested factors included: I. Factor – two early edible potato cultivars (Owacja, Bellarosa), II. Factor – methods of treatment with the application of growth biostimulators: GreenOk-Uniwersal Pro and Asahi SL and their combination with Avatar 293 ZC herbicide. As a result of the carried out research, it was noted that the methods of treatment applied in the experiment had a beneficial effect on the value of tested features in comparison to the control object, treated exclusively mechanically (without the use of biostimulators and herbicide). Both in terms of protein concentration and the obtained crop of major protein, the application of mechanical treatment for sprouting of potato plants and Avatar 293 ZC herbicide at a dose of 1.5 dm3∙ha-1 directly before the sprouting and subsequently post sprouting, triple application of GreenOK Universal-PRO bioactivator at the following doses: 0.10 dm3∙ha-1 + 0.15 dm3∙ha-1 + 0.15 dm3∙ha-1 was the most beneficial. The average content of major proteins in this object amounted to 8.14% while the average protein yield – 750.09 kg·ha-1.

Opis:
Field experiments were carried out in 2015–2017 with the use of bio-stimulators on an individual farm in Międzyrzec Podlaski. The experiment was based on a random split-plot method. The influence of two first factors was examined. The primary factor included three varieties of edible potato: Honorata, Jelly, Tajfun, and the secondary factor involved five ways of using bio-stimulators: Kelpak SL, Titanit, Green Ok, Brunatne Bio Złoto Cytokinin. The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of bio-stimulators on the tastiness and darkening of the pulp of raw and cooked tubers after 10 minutes. The effectiveness of the application of individual bio-stimulators in the cultivation of edible potato varieties: Honorata, Jelly and Tajfun was compared with the control object (without using bio-stimulators) sprayed with water. The methods of using bio-stimulators did not change the tastiness and darkening of the pulp of raw tubers, but they had a significant impact on the darkening of the pulp of the cooked tubers. The raw and cooked pulp of the Honorata variety darkened the least, and the Jelly variety turned out to be the tastiest, scoring 8.0 points on a scale of 1–9 compared to the remaining varieties.

Opis:
A field experiment was conducted in the years 2017-2018 in the area of the Didactic and Experimental Centre, University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn. The experiment was set up in the randomised split block design, in three replicates. The first experimental factor was four winter cultivars of garlic (Allium sativum L.): ‘Arkus’, ‘Harnaś’, ‘Mega’, ‘Ornak’. Within the scope of the second experimental factor, the effect of amino acid biostimulators Calleaf Aminovital and Maximus Amino Protect on the yield and quality of garlic was analysed. The control treatment comprised plots on which only water was applied. The objective of the study was to estimate selected morphological features of bulbs and the content of nutritional components of garlic cultivated with the use of biopreparations. The morphology and the nutritional composition of the edible part of garlic was estimated. Statistically significant impact of the cultivar on bulb mass and horizontal diameter and on the content of L-ascorbic acid and nitrates (V) in the edible part of garlic was demonstrated. Cultivar ‘Ornak’ was characterised by greater bulb mass (64.62 g), vertical and horizontal diameter (4.09 and 4.14 cm), dry matter content (38.0%) and concentration of reducing sugars (1.18 g 100 g–1 fresh matter). Lower bulb mass, height, content of total and reducing sugars and of nitrates (V) were determined in garlic cv. ‘Arkus’. The cultivation of garlic plants with the use of the biostimulators had a significant effect on the number of cloves in a single bulb. The application of Calleaf Aminovital increased their number to an average of 6 cloves×plant–1. Interaction of garlic plants cv. ‘Arkus’ with Calleaf Aminowital significantly reduced the content of nitrates (V) in garlic relative to the remaining cultivation treatments.

Opis:
W latach 2018 – 2019 przeprowadzono na glebie lekkiej badania polowe nad określeniem wpływu dolistnego dokarmiania roślin ziemniaka biostymulatorami: Krzemian (preparat krzemowy), Naturamin Plus i Naturamin WSP (preparaty aminokwasowe) na plon i jakość bulw ziemniaka. W każdym roku wykonywano dwa zabiegi dolistnego dokarmiania w fazach BBCH 19 i 39 (preparatami Naturamin Plus i Naturamin WSP) oraz 39 i 70 (preparatem Krzemian). Kontrolę stanowił obiekt bez dolistnego dokarmiania i stosowania wody. Nawożenie organiczne stanowiły przyorywane każdego roku: słoma z pszenżyta ozimego i zielona masa międzyplonu z gorczycy białej. Nawożenie mineralne stosowano w dawkach: 100 kg·ha-1 N, 26,2 kg·ha-1 P i 99,6 kg·ha-1 K. Pod wpływem zastosowanych preparatów uzyskano w badaniach zbliżony przyrost plonu bulw, większy o 17,3% w porównaniu do kontroli. Większy przyrost plonu bulw pod wpływem preparatów uzyskano w 2018 roku, o mniejszym niedoborze opadów i wyższej temperaturze powietrza, niż w 2019 roku. Pod wpływem zastosowanych preparatów uzyskano istotny wzrost zawartości skrobi, suchej masy i witaminy C w bulwach, a preparat Krzemian spowodował obniżenie poziomu azotanów (V) w bulwach w porównaniu do obiektu kontrolnego.
In the years 2018 – 2019, field trials were carried out on light soil on the effect of foliar fertilization of potato plants with biostimulators: Krzemian (silicon preparation), Naturamin Plus and Naturamin WSP (amino acid preparations) with regard to the yield and quality of potato tubers. Each year, two foliar fertilization treatments were carried in BBCH 19 and 39 phases - Naturamin Plus and Naturamin WSP preparations, and 39 and 70 – silicate preparation. The control was without foliar fertilization, water being used instead. The soil was amended each year by incorporating through ploughing, straw from winter triticale and green intercrop from white mustard, while mineral fertilization was applied in the following doses: 100 kg·ha-1 N, 26.2 kg·ha-1 P and 99.6 kg·ha-1 K. Under the influence of the preparations used in the studies, a similar increase in tuber yield was obtained, higher by 17.3% compared to the control. A greater increase in tuber yield under the influence of preparations was obtained in the year of 2018, with less rainfall deficiency and higher air temperature than in the year of 2019. Under the influence of the preparations used, a significant increase in the content of starch, dry matter and vitamin C in tubers was obtained, but the preparation of Krzemian caused a decrease in the level of nitrates (V) in tubers, compared to the control.

The field experiment was conducted in the years of 2013–2016 at the Agricultural Experimental Station – Zawady belonging to the University of Natural Sciences and Humanities in Siedlce. The experiment was set in the split-split-plot system in three repetitions. The studied factors were: I – three varieties of oilseed rape: Monolit (population variety), PR 44D06 (hybrid restored variety with a semi dwarf growth type), PT 205 (hybrid restored variety with a traditional growth type). II – two ways of sowing: 22.5 cm spacing (row sowing – density of sowing 60 seeds per 1 m-2), 45.0 cm spacing (point sowing – density of sowing 40 seeds per 1 m-2). III – four types of bio-stimulators used: the control object (without the use of bio-stimulators), Tytanit® bio-stimulator, Asahi®SL bio-stimulator, Silvit® bio-stimulator. The aim of the study was to determine the impact of the types of used bio-stimulators and the way of sowing on the fresh and dry mass of plants (rosette, root) of three varieties of winter oilseed rape. The fresh and dry mass of the aboveground part of rosette and the fresh and dry mass of the root system depended significantly on the genetic factor, types of used bio-stimulators and atmospheric conditions prevailing in the individual years of research. From the cultivated varieties, the largest fresh and dry mass of the aboveground part of 1 rosette (on average of 33.3 g and 6.34 g) and the fresh and dry mass of the root system of 1 plant (an average of 7.97g and 2.30 g) characterised the population morphotype – Monolit. Types of the bio-stimulators used significantly impact the increased values of these characteristics. The greatest fresh and dry mass of plants (rosette, root) was noted on object 3, on which the Asahi SL bio-stimulator was used.
