The article “Belarussian Churches: chronicle of bells between 1950 and 1980” written on the basis of declassified archives of Belarus, as well as stories of clergy and parishioners Ringers recorded during expeditions of 2003-2010. to study the 247 bells of Orthodox Churches. Through the testimony of believers author reveals the living history events godless government policy directed against the Church and its ministers, religious education and external ritual sound symbol of the Orthodox faith – bells. The confrontation with the power of parishioners helped keep the number of temples in the republic sets of church bells ringing and the canon itself, which is carefully passed on from generation to generation. In 2015, the Institute of Culture of Belarus began to collect documents for the introduction of elements of “traditional zvonarstvo” 21 Temple in the list of intangible spiritual heritage of the Republic of Belarus.

Opis:
Celem artykułu jest zwrócenie uwagi na problem datowania najstarszych dzwonów w Polsce przy uwzględnieniu zagadnień technologicznych. W artykule, na podstawie wybranej grupy przykładów, pozyskanych głównie podczas badań na terenie województwa lubuskiego, omówiono problem kształtu dzwonów wczesnośredniowiecznych. Zagadnienie to znajduje szerokie odzwierciedlenie w literaturze niemieckiej, zarówno na tle badań teoretycznych, jak też praktycznych. Literatura polska podejmuje problematykę dzwonów przede wszystkim na tle zagadnień inskrypcji i dekoracji. Pomijanie zagadnień technologicznych i muzykologicznych dzwonów nastręcza trudności w datowaniu najstarszych dzwonów w Polsce. Tłem dla rozważań pozostaje postulat pełnej inwentaryzacji tego typu dzwonów.
The aim of the article is to draw attention to the problem of dating the oldest bells in Poland, taking into account technological issues. On the basis of a selected group of examples, obtained mainly during research in the Lubuskie Voivodeship, the article discusses the problem of the shape of early medieval bells. This issue is particularly reflected in German literature, both against the background of theoretical and practical research. Polish literature deals with the issues of bells mainly against the background of inscriptions and decorations. Ignoring the technological and musicological issues of bells causes difficulties in dating the oldest bells in Poland. The postulate for a full inventory of this type of bells remains as the background to these considerations.

The paper describes the process of melting, metalworking and pouring the form of the world's largest 55-ton rocking bell called Vox Patris. The project was carried out by Pracownia Ludwisarska of Jan Felczyński from Przemyśl in cooperation with Rduch Bells & Clocks from Czernica and Metalodlew SA from Kraków. Comprehensive scientific and technical support of the project was provided by the Department of Foundry of the Silesian University of Technology. The bell is made of bronze, which is an alloy of copper and tin with a content of tin at the level of 20%. The foundry, where the melting and pouring process took place, had two 14 ton electric furnaces, 15 ton transport pouring ladle and a 60 ton collection ladle. Therefore, it was necessary to determine the minimum temperature of the pouring and the conditions for holding the liquid metal so that the metal from the first cast would not solidify before accumulating its total amount (four melts) (Bartocha and Baron, 2015; Bartocha and Baron, 2016). The study presents the tests of alloy properties and a series of computer simulations. Thanks to them the maximum and minimum permissible temperature of metal overheating has been determined (Bartocha, 2017). The final stage of the cast was the mold pouring process. The filling system was responsible for the correct performance of this process. This system comprised a tank (collector) under a doublestopper 60-ton main ladle, an elevenmeter tapping spout, an infusion tank and a downgate. The task of the gating system is uniform and continuous supply of liquid metal to the mold until it is completely filled. The unusual layout, that was used, required checking many factors. Various configurations of the system parameters have been tested based on the series of computer simulations (Czochlarski and Bukowski, 1935; Ignaszak, 1999).

W artykule przedstawione zostały wyniki badań dźwięku dzwonków szkolnych, traktowanych jako źródło hałasu. Badano także, czy dźwięk ten jest słyszalny na przerwach między lekcjami w szkole podstawowej. Badania wykonano w odniesieniu do dwóch wariantów w pierwszym na korytarzu szkoły działały dwa identyczne dzwonki; w drugim - tylko jeden z nich. Przyjęto dwa kryteria oceny: braku szkodliwości dźwięku dzwonka (tj. braku jego szkodliwego wpływu na ubytki słuchu ludzi) oraz słyszalności dzwonka w czasie przerwy miedzy zajęciami. Oba kryteria dotyczą całego korytarza, gdzie przebywają uczniowie i nauczyciele. Stwierdzono, ze przy działających obu dzwonkach oraz przy działającym jednym dzwonku poziom dźwięku A nie przekraczał poziomów dopuszczalnych hałasu w środowisku pracy ze względu na ochronę słuchu. Kryterium słyszalności było spełnione na całym korytarzu tylko przy włączonych obu dzwonkach, natomiast przy jednym dzwonku nie było ono spełnione w części korytarza. Ponadto, przy jednym włączonym dzwonku występują dużo większe różnice w jego słyszalności na całym korytarzu, niż przy obu włączonych urządzeniach, co należy uznać za efekt niekorzystny. Na podstawie badań można stwierdzić, że sytuacja, w której działają oba dzwonki na korytarzu jest lepsza niż w przypadku, gdy działa tylko jeden z nich.
This article presents the results of research on the sound of a school bell as source of information and, at the same time, as a source of noise. Both the corridor and classrooms in a primary school were considered. There were two criteria: lack of harmfulness (i.e, no harmful effect on human hearing) and audibility in the corridor at the beginning of the lesson and in classrooms at the beginning of the break. The results showed that the sound of the school bell did not exceed the acceptable level of noise in the work environment (considering protection of hearing) and was audible both in the corridor and in classrooms. The article also discusses The result of an experiment with changing the location of school bells to achieve lower exposure to noise without loss of audibility.

In Africa, few studies are interested in unilateral spatial neglect (NSU) in Parkinson's disease. However, this syndrome is a deficit to detect, respond to or orientate towards meaningful stimuli (Heil- man, KM 1973), observable after an injury affecting the non-dominant hemisphere for language. The significant handicap it entails justifies the need for early diagnosis and care. The NSU study is mo- tivated by its link with neurocognitive phenomena that are important on the theoretical level (attention, visuospatial and perceptual awareness). The objective is to study USN in Parkinson's pa tients, followed and hospitalized at the Neurology Department of Hassan II University Hospital in Fez. The visual-graphic test that has been used to detect this pathology is that of Bell's test. The test focuses on the detection of targets placed among several stimuli on a sheet of A4 paper. The material included 120 people: 60 Parkinsonian patients: 34 men (56,7%), and 26 women (43,3%) and 60 control subjects: 34 men (56,7%), and 26 women (43,3%). The groups were matched by age and sex. Different aspects of neglect have been observed throughout the Bell's test. It was found that total omission of bell figures was significantly influenced by age, being less frequent in the 35-49 age group in both groups, and higher in the elderly (50-80 years), as well the level of education. It have been reduced considerably with the increase in education. The hand used and the laterality had no effect; t = 3.76 degrees of freedom (df) = 108.27 and p = 0.000. Unilateral spatial neglect has a negative effect in subjects with Parkin- son's disease. It deserves to be systematically sought for a better clinical evaluation and therapeutic management of the patients.

The main intention of the conducted project was an attempt to bring closer a fragment of school daily life which covers the time of break between lessons and to recognise the meanings which are attributed by pupils to the school bell sound. The text presents results of my research, which illustrate the world of children’s meanings associated with the sound of the school bell – an inherent attribute of pupils’ daily life. What significance do they ascribe to the sound of the school bell? What does its sound really mean to them when it signals a beginning of another lesson and what when it starts a break? Such formulated questions specified the area of my empiric quests. These attempts of mine belong to the trend of research which on the one hand contributes to the fuller comprehension of childhood shown from the perspective of the very children, whereas on the other hand it may reveal senses and meanings which are given by children to the world that surrounds them.

Archaeological research conducted in the years 2012-2013 at Śródka in Poznań provided some crucial information that enriches our knowledge on the past of the city. During twenty years of excavations carried out in that area of the city we managed to unearth a large part of an early medieval burial ground where the inhabitants of the gord were buried from the end of the 10th century until the end of the 12th century. The location of the cemetery was preceded by resettlement of the residents of an extensive hamlet employed in craftsmanship and trade to new sites (another region of Śródka and perhaps also to the territory of Zagórze). Demarcation of the burial site most likely had a propaganda dimension connected with the process of constitution of Christian rites which also included the funeral sphere.Archaeological research conducted in the years 2012-2013 at Śródka in Poznań provided some crucial information that enriches our knowledge on the past of the city. It is the second workshop of this type unearthed by us on this site. It is worth underscoring that to date those are the oldest remnants of bell founding workshops in Poland evidenced by excavations.

The history of quantum mechanics is divided into two periods which are labeled as the first and the second quantum revolutions. During the first of these periods mathematical formalism of quantum theory was formulated and interpreted, during the second – new quantum technologies were developed. It turns out that conceptual revolution of the first period enabled technological revolution of the second. In this article it is argued, that Irish physicist, John S. Bell, played an important role in the process of triggering the second quantum revolution. His work on quantum entanglement of the EPR particles made possible elaborating some new methods and theoretical approaches clarifying the quantum description of single objects. These methods and approaches became the core of new scientific domains which are hybrids of quantum mechanics and some classical sciences. The quantum cryptography and the quantum computation are examples of such domains and in the paper special attention is paid to them. It is showed that theoretical analyses of John S. Bell provide a conceptual background for these disciplines and this is why it’s not improper to call this physicist – as Alain Aspect did – a prophet of the second quantum revolution.

The African-American scholar bell hooks is a well known figure in the Western academic milieu. This article makes an attempt at presenting the model of engaged pedagogy represented in hook’s works and her public appearances. This is done by highlighting the issue of subjective experience in the educational setting. Hook’s concept of race and gender is brought to attention to present the aforementioned issue within the broader context of her socio-cultural concepts she is known for. The outcome of this reconstruction shows us that the model of engaged pedagogy is developed by hooks into a wide set of postulates of structural change of the American schooling system, as well systems in other parts of the world. Therefore, it seems plausible to put her works within the tradition of critical pedagogy as found in the works of Paulo Freire and others.

Badania z przytoczonego zakresu różnią się od siebie przede wszystkim głównym celem ich prowadzenia. Rozważania poparto wynikami przeprowadzonych przez autora prac, których celem było odtworzenia postaci geometrycznej najstarszych w Polsce (1314 i 1389 r.) średniowiecznych dzwonów kościelnych, znajdujących się w Sandomierskim kościele oo. Dominikanów. Etap digitalizacji w rozpatrywanym przypadku przeprowadzono przy użyciu ramienia pomiarowego MCAx20 z laserową głowicę skanującą MMDx100 firmy Nikon Metrology, wyposażonego w oprogramowanie Focus umożliwiające rejestrację i obróbkę uzyskanych chmur punktów oraz tworzenie modelu 3D w postaci siatki trójkątów.
The present article deals with the application of reconstructive engineering in investigating diverse objects ranging from technical to artistic ones. Investigation techniques differ mainly because of the nature of the detail being studied. Author’s ideas are backed up with the results of his work aimed at reconstructing geometric form of the oldest (dated 1314 and 1389), medieval, church bells in Poland, located in a church in Sandomierz run by the Dominican Order. The digitization stage of the work was conducted by the use of measuring arm MCAx20 equipped with laser scanning head MMDx100 made by Nikon Metrology, working with Focus software, which enabled recording and processing of the obtained point clouds and completing a 3D model in the form of a triangle net.

Idiopathic facial nerve palsy, also called Bell’s palsy, can be a challenge for clinicians if a pregnant woman reports symptoms of facial paresis. The incidence of Bell’s paralysis in pregnant women is almost three times higher than in the age group of non-pregnant women. The problem is lack of guidelines for treatment of idiopathic facial nerve palsy in this group of patients. Randomized studies, but without the participation of pregnant women, showed greater efficacy in the return of nerve function after early treatment with corticosteroids than with other methods. The dilemma concerning therapy is intensified by the fact that prognosis regarding the return of facial nerve function in pregnant women is significantly worse than in the remaining population, even though the weakness of the facial muscles is diagnosed in a young woman. This article presents an example of a patient consulted in our department and a review of current literature. We introduce recommendations for treatment of pregnant women with facial nerve palsy. Benefits, advised medicines, doses, necessary precautions and potential side effects of corticosteroids, being the only ones that have proven efficacy in the treatment of Bell's paralysis in pregnant women are discussed.

The article contains a review of bell hooks’ Feminist Theory: From Margin to Center (1984; Wydawnictwo Krytyki Politycznej, Warszawa 2013, second edition 2022). The text by the American scholar presents groundbreaking theses for the development of the Black feminism movement – she was one of the first to draw attention to the need to take into account various social determinants of violence against women. At the same time, it emphasizes the exclusionary and marginalizing assumptions of second-wave feminism that dominated in the mid-twentieth century. In my review, I reflect on the importance of republishing a theoretical book that examines the systemic violence faced by Black women in a patriarchal and white society. For me, it is important to ask about the relevance of hooks’ reflections and the role they play in thinking about feminism in contemporary capitalist society. I also reflect on the applicability of hooks’ theory in Polish feminism context.

Abstract: Idiopathic facial nerve palsy, known also as Bell’s palsy, is a common condition encountered in everyday otolaryngological practice, and although the prognosis is fair, in case of incomplete recovery remains a marked physical disability for the patient. Despite of the development of diagnostic techniques, in most cases it is still impossible to point the etiologic factor, and therapy has to remain on empirical treatment. Material and method: In this article the review of literature on pathogenesis and therapy of idiopathic facial nerve palsy, published in years 2006–2016 was performed, presenting the articles with direct implications for everyday clinical practice. Results: According to presented articles, the importance of usage of combined treatment with steroids and antivirals, extended diagnostics for the presence of metabolic disorders(IGT) and surgical treatment with early facial nerve decompression in cases with severe degeneration of the fibers or recurrent paralysis were emphasized

This paper presents some results of the study employing the Quality of Life (QOL) index that was initiated in China during 1980s. Currently, some progress has been made in the research field. For one thing, many researchers defined QOL as a composite structure which included subjective and objective elements. Considerable summary of well-being indices has been constructed from different analysis units (e.g., cities, province, and nations). For another, statistical methods played an important part in determining the weights of these indices, either objective weighting or subjective weighting. This paper defines the concept of QOL as the quality of people's being, which is used in analyzing the well-being of people' living condition and also reflected their subjective well-being to the living condition. Based on this concept, an analytical system of Chinese people's well-being was elaborated. 115 indices from five aspects reflecting the characteristics of the Chinese people's objective well-being have been initially proposed. Economic well-being, health and basic survival well-being, social well-being, cultural well-being, political well-being and environmental well-being have been taken into consideration. Through the analysis of content validity of experts and correlation analysis, 58 indices were selected. The weights of the subjective and objective indices were determined through analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and principal component method respectively. By combining the weight coefficients obtained from the two approaches, the composite indicator of Chinese people’s objective well-being was performed and the objective well-being level of 30 Chinese provinces was evaluated.

Autorka tekstu wskazuje na problem emocjonalnego osamotniania dziecka we współczesnej dziecięco-młodzieżowej literaturze pięknej. Osamotnienie dziecka rozumie jako brak związku psychicznego z rodzicami, jego subiektywne poczucie niekochania przez nich, emocjonalnego odtrącania. Omawia różne wymiary osamotnienia oraz przeżycia dziecka osamotnionego emocjonalnie. Wskazuje na edukacyjne wartości lektur, które mogą być wykorzystane np. na lekcjach języka polskiego na III i IV poziomie kształcenia, w celach uwrażliwiania czytelnika, kształtowania jego hierarchii wartości, tożsamości osobistej i społecznej, przy omawianiu zagadnień egzystencjalnych oraz na lekcjach wiedzy o społeczeństwie przy zagadnieniach przyczyn i skutków stygmatyzacji społecznej oraz omawianiu ochrony praw człowieka.
The author of this paper indicates the problem of the child’s emotional loneliness in contemporary bell literature addressed to child and youth. Loneliness of the child is understood as a lack of mental relation with their parents, the subjective feeling of not loving by them, emotional rebuffs. The author discusses the different dimensions of loneliness and points to the educational values of the analyzed books, which can be used for example on polish lessons for III and IV level of education, for the purpose of sensitizing the readers, shaping their hierarchy of values, personal and social identity and as well as on social science lessons during discussing the causes and consequences of social stigmatization or discussing about the human rights.

Persian Pictures, Gertrude Bell’s first published collection, differs substantially from her later works; critics have accused it of sentimentality, lack of substance – a mere ‘folly’ incommensurable with Bell’s later writings. In the present article, I intend to advocate for Bell, though, proposing to see the supposed faults of Persian Pictures as the work’s greatest strengths which in fact reveal the author’s other, more lyrical and less ‘business-like’, side. With special emphasis placed on the concept of gateways and walls I will attempt to shed light on how, by traversing and/or transgressing borders of various types and putting herself to a series of identity-forming tests, Persian Pictures – to the contemporary reader – offer insight into the broader apparatus of British (and Western) colonialism.By linking each of the selected essays with one of John Frederick Lewis’s orientalist paintings, I hope to further strengthen my argument that aspects of Persian Pictures, originally seen as the work’s weaknesses, have the potential to actually enrich discussions of Western mis/representations of the Orient, without compromising its author, and should thus be approached as instances of powerful and vivid responses to the ‘shock of the new,’ as experienced by Gertrude Bell – and, in fact, many other travellers, male and female alike, who ventured into these realms.
Persian Pictures, pierwsze opublikowane dzieło Gertrude Bell, znacznie różni się od jej późniejszych prac. Krytycy zarzucali jej, że jest to kolekcja sentymentalnych anegdot, niewspółmiernych z jej dojrzalszą twórczością. W niniejszym artykule podejmę próbę „zrehabilitowania” Gertrude Bell, proponując uznać przywoływane wady tekstu za najmocniejsze strony zbioru, które pozwalają ujrzeć inną – młodszą, mniej doświadczoną – Bell, ale już wtedy oddaną „sprawie wschodniej”. Kładąc nacisk na kwestie przekraczania granic i transgresyjnych pasaży, przyjrzę się wybranym esejom z kolekcji Persian Pictures pod kątem ukazania ewolucji tożsamości Bell i rozwoju jej twórczości w kontekście szczytu brytyjskiej ekspansji kolonialnej na Bliskim Wschodzie. Dzięki porównaniu poszczególnych anegdot Bell z orientalistycznym malarstwem Johna Fredericka Lewisa, pragnę dowieść, że pewne aspekty Persian Pictures, pierwotnie uznawane za ich najsłabsze punkty, stanowią tak naprawdę o sile i świeżości wczesnego pisarstwa Bell i są asumptem do prowadzenia dyskusji na temat reprezentacji Orientu w twórczości zachodnich badaczy i artystów.

Ucieczką od tego impasu jest powrót do pytania Archimedesa o punkt oparcia i zastanowienie się nad tym, co w ludzkiej naturze niezmienne a co przypadkowe i przemijalne.The Classic Pattern and Mass Man as Interpreted by the Contemporary Theorists of Society and Culture: Daniel Bell, Allan Bloom, and Jose Ortega y GassetSUMMARYThe starting point for the analysis is an anxiety associated with the vanishing of the foundations of European culture. In the classical paradigm, the artist worked on the basis of an ideal image that s/he carried in his/her soul. However, this vision was rejected. Modernity offered rationalism, freedom, and equality to the humankind. The result of this fundamental change is the so-called “psychedelic bazaar” – a certain form of culture continually offering new, surprising and often extreme experiences. By following them, a person is disoriented and his/her feeling is driven to the breaking point. Consequently, s/he is like an uprooted being condemned to cultural wandering. The way out of this impasse is to return to Archimedes’ question about the point of support, and to ponder over the invariable in human culture and the accidental and transitory.

Opis:
High-tin bronzes are used for church bells and concert bells (carillons). Therefore beside their decorative value, they should also offer other functional properties, including their permanence and good quality of sound. The latter is highly influenced by the structure of bell material, i.e. mostly by the presence of internal porosity which interferes with vibration of the bell waist and rim, and therefore should be eliminated. The presented investigations concerning the influence of tin content ranging from 20 to 24 wt% on mechanical properties of high-tin bronzes allowed to prove the increase in hardness of these alloys with simultaneous decrease in the tensile and the impact strengths (Rm and KV, respectively) for the increased tin content. Fractures of examined specimens, their porosity and microstructures were also assessed in order to explain the observed regularities. A reason of the change in the values of mechanical properties was revealed to be the change in the shape of α-phase crystals from dendritic to acicular one, and generation of grain structure related to the increased Sn content in the alloy.

Device for hollowing and cutting bell peppers adapted to work in a technological line is objective of the laboratory tests. The device accomplishes three processing stages during one work cycle: hollows a core, removes residual seeds and cuts bell pepper into equal parts. In the article the obtained results are discussed. The results show that the cutting process is proceeding correctly; no adverse changes in bell peppers pulp structure were diagnosed.
Przedmiotem badań jest automat wydrążająco-tnący do papryki, który przystosowany jest do pracy w linii technologicznej. Automat realizuje trzy procesy obróbcze w czasie cyklu, tj. wydrąża gniazda nasienne, wydmuchuje pestki z wnętrza papryk oraz rozkrawa ją na części. W artykule omówiono wyniki badań rozkrawania papryk. Badania wykazały, że proces cięcia jest prawidłowy oraz nie zaobserwowano niekorzystnych zmian struktury.

W artykule przedstawiono przykład uszkodzenia jarzma i zawieszenia największego dotychczas odlanego w Polsce dzwonu Józef usytuowanego na ołtarzu polowym przy bazylice w Licheniu. Na zaistniałą sytuację złożyły się dwie przyczyny – wadliwie zaprojektowane i wykonane jarzmo oraz uszkodzenia korony nowo odlanego dzwonu. W artykule zilustrowano i przedyskutowano przyczyny uszkodzenia jarzma, przedstawiono projekt i wykonanie nowego jarzma oraz pokazano zmieniony sposób połączenia dzwonu z nowym jarzmem. Przedstawiony przypadek poszerza wiedzę w zakresie technicznych problemów utrzymania i eksploatacji dużych dzwonów w obiektach zabytkowych.
The article presents a case of damage to yoke and hanging of Józef bell in field altar at Licheń Basilica – the largest bell cast in Poland. The reasons for the damage were twofold – wrong design and workmanship as well as damage to crown of newly cast bell. The article illustrates and discusses reasons to yoke damage, presents design and construction of the new yoke and shows the different method used for the bell-yoke connection. The presented case extends knowledge in the range of technical problems related to maintenance and service of large bells in historical buildings.

Mathematical tools of category theory are employed to study the syntaxsemantics problem in the philosophy of mathematics. Every category has its internal logic, and if this logic is sufficiently rich, a given category provides semantics for a certain formal theory and, vice versa, for each (suitably defined) formal theory one can construct a category, providing a semantics for it. There exists a pair of adjoint functors, Lang and Syn, between a category (belonging to a certain class of categories) and a category of theories. These functors describe, in a formal way, mutual dependencies between the syntactical structure of a formal theory and the internal logic of its semantics. Bell’s program to regard the world of topoi as the univers de discours of mathematics and as a tool of its local interpretation, is extended to a collection of categories and all functors between them, called “categorical field”. This informal idea serves to study the interaction between syntax and semantics of mathematical theories, in an analogy to functors Lang and Syn. With the help of these concepts, the role of Gödel-like limitations in the categorical field is briefly discussed. Some suggestions are made concerning the syntax-semantics interaction as far as physical theories are concerned.

Introduction: Peripheral-type facial nerve palsy (FNP) is called "Bell's paralysis". This is the most common type of damage to the facial nerve among children. Treatment includes the use of various types of pharmacologically assisted physical treatments. Study aim: The aim of the study is to evaluate the effectiveness of laser biostimulation in the treatment of peripheral FNP as well as the speed and sequence at which the disease symptoms subside. In addition, the relationship between the progress in physiotherapy and the patient's age were determined. Material and methods: The study included 50 patients (27 girls and 23 boys) aged 6 to 18 with FNP symptoms. Left-sided paralysis was noted in 22 of them, and right-sided in 28. All of the subjects included in the study were divided into two equal groups. In group A, treat-ment with the use of magnetic fields and electrostimulation was applied, while in group B, laser biostimulation was additionally applied. The speed and sequence of regression of symp-toms and the recovery of muscular strength were assessed. Results: In group A, in 17 of the treated children, symptoms subsided after 3 weeks. In group B, symptom relief occurred in 18 of them after 2 weeks. Due to one of the symptoms main-taining, although the symptom was not intense, 8 patients from group B continued ambulatory treatment, while 14 continued from group A. Conclusions: The early application of laser biostimulation in FNP patients leads to the rapid regression of symptoms and shortens the time of hospital treatment. Not fully shutting the eye and Bell’s symptoms were the quickest to subside. The age of the child with FNP does not affect the duration of treatment.
Wstęp: Porażenie nerwu twarzowego (PNT) typu obwodowego określane jest „porażeniem Bella”. Jest to najczęstsze schorzenie nerwu twarzowego u dzieci. Leczenie obejmuje stosowanie różnego rodzaju zabiegów fizykalnych wspomaganych farmakologicznie. Cel pracy: Celem pracy jest ocena skuteczności stosowania biostymulacji laserowej w leczeniu obwodowego PNT oraz szybkości i kolejności ustępowania objawów choroby. Ponadto określenie zależności szybkości ustępowania objawów od wieku pacjenta. Materiał i metody: Badaniem objęto 50 pacjentów (27 dziewczynek i 23 chłopców) w wieku od 6 do 18 lat z objawami PNT. Porażenie lewostronne odnotowano u 22 z nich, a prawostronne u 28. Wszystkich włączonych do badania podzielono na dwie równe liczebnie grupy. W grupie A zastosowano leczenie z wykorzystaniem kinezyterapii, masażu, pola magnetycznego, elektrostymulacji i promieniowania podczerwonego, natomiast w grupie B zastosowano dodatkowo biostymulację laserową. Oceniano szybkość i kolejność ustępowania objawów oraz powrót siły mięśniowej. Wyniki: W grupie A u 17 z leczonych dzieci ustąpienie objawów stwierdzono po 3 tygodniach. W grupie B natomiast, po 2 tygodniach, co miało miejsce u 18 z nich uzyskując ustąpienie objawów. Z powodu utrzymywania się słabo nasilonego jednego z objawu, 8 leczonych z grupy B kontynuowało leczenie ambulatoryjne, natomiast z grupy A 14. Wnioski: Wczesne stosowanie biostymulacji laserowej u pacjentów PNT prowadzi do szybkiego ustępowania objawów oraz skraca czas leczenia szpitalnego. Najszybciej ustępowały objawy niedomykania powieki i objaw Bella. Wiek dziecka z PNT nie ma wpływu na szybkość ustępowania objawów.

Quantum contextuality and its ontological meaning are very controversial issues, and they relate to other problems concerning the foundations of quantum theory. I address this controversy and stress the fact that contextuality is a universal topological property of quantum processes, which conflicts with the basic metaphysical assumption of the definiteness of being. I discuss the consequences of this fact and argue that generic quantum potentiality as a real physical indefiniteness has nothing in common with the classical notions of possibility and counterfactuality, and that also it reverses, in a way, the classical mirror-like relation between actuality and definite possibility.

The present research was carried out to evaluate response of Bell peppers (Capsicum annuum L.) to plant density and nitrogen fertilizer under field conditions. Plant density at four levels (20×50 cm, 30×50 cm, 20×100 cm and 30×100 cm) and nitrogen treatments at four levels (0, 50, 100 and 150 kg·N·ha-1) were applied. Plant height, lateral stem number, leaf chlorophyll content, yield, and were assessed at immature and mature stages. The results showed that vegetative growth characteristics (plant height, lateral stem number and leaf dry matter) and reproductive factors (fruit volume and fruit weight) decreased with increasing plant density, but total yield (kg·ha-1) increased with increasing plant density. The highest and lowest total yields were obtained by plant density 20×50 cm and 30×100 cm respectively. Nitrogen fertilizer was significantly affected on plant height, lateral stem number and leaf chlorophyll content. It was observed that fertilization with 150 kg·N·ha-1 resulted to the highest fruit volume and plant yield. There were significant differences between fruit volume and fruit weight by interaction between plant density and nitrogen treatments.

The most important feature of bells is their sound. Their clarity and beauty depend, first of all, on the bell’s geometry - particularly the shape of its profile and the mechanical properties of alloy. Bells are the castings that work by emitting sound in as-cast state. Therefore all features that are created during melting, pouring, solidification and cooling processes will influence the bell's sound. The mechanical properties of bronze depend on the quality of alloy and microstructure which is created during solidification and depend on its kinetics. Hence, if the solidification parameters influence the alloy’s properties, how could they influence the frequencies of bell`s tone? Taking into account alterable thickness of bell's wall and differences in microstructure, the alloy's properties in bell could be important. In the article authors present the investigations conducted to determine the influence of cooling kinetics on microstructure of bronze with 20 weight % tin contents.

Let Y be a random real response which is subject to left-truncation by another random variable T. In this paper, we study the kernel conditional quantile estimation when the covariable X takes values in an infinite-dimensional space. A kernel conditional quantile estimator is given under some regularity conditions, among which in the small-ball probability, its strong uniform almost sure convergence rate is established. Some special cases have been studied to show how our work extends some results given in the literature. Simulations are drawn to lend further support to our theoretical results and assess the behavior of the estimator for finite samples with different rates of truncation and sizes.

Celem opracowania jest zbadanie charakterystycznych związanych z krakowskimi sanktuariami dźwięków, ich źródeł i rodzajów. Podjęto próbę zdefiniowania sacrum za pomocą dźwięków i na tej podstawie określenie jego związku z ciszą oraz ich wpływu na istnienie świętej strefy w Krakowie. W tym celu zbadano trzy świątynie i typowe dla nich źródła dźwięków: Katedra Wawelska – Dzwon Zygmunta; Bazylika Mariacka – Hejnał Mariacki; Łagiewniki – carillony. Podczas badań przeprowadzono m.in. wywiady wśród Krakowian na temat stosunku do ww. dźwięków miasta, istnienia sacrum w jego krajobrazie oraz rozmowy z pracującymi w sanktuariach osobami. Wykonano również badania dotyczące zasięgu oddziaływania tych dźwięków. Końcowym efektem są odpowiedzi na pytania – czy możliwe jest aby dźwięk niepochodzący z natury był nośnikiem Sacrum w krajobrazie miejskim oraz co i jak wpływa na to, że fala dźwiękowa zyskuje tak wysoką rangę?
The aim of this study is to analyze sounds characteristic of Cracow's sanctuaries, their sources and types. It attempted to define sacrum in Cracow by means of these sounds and to use this measure as a basis for identifying relationship between sacrum and silence and the influence of sounds on the existence of the sacred space in this city. So as to attain it, three temples and sounds characteristic of them were examined: Wawel Cathedral – The Royal Sigismund Bell; St. Mary's Basilica -Mariacki bugle-call; Łagiewniki – carillons. Interviewing the citizens of Cracow with regard to their attitudes towards the aforementioned sounds and the existence of sacrum in the city's landscape was a part of the research; another one was constituted by the conversations with the persons employed in the sanctuaries. Furthermore, the study included the analysis of the coverage of the sounds. The final results provide answers to the following questions: is it possible that a sound from outside of nature is a carrier of Sacrum in a city landscape as well as what and how can make a s wave such an important element.

Two methods of pepper regeneration regarding the rate of obtaining microcuttings were compared. In the first one, halves of imbibed seeds were cultured on Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium without growth regulators (GR). In the second one, seedling explants, cotyledon segments and shoot tips, which were cultured on MS medium with GR, were used. The induction of adventitious buds occurred on the cut surface of the explant and depended upon the type of the explants, the presence and concentration of GR. The microcuttings which were fit for the ex vitro use, developed mainly from adventitious buds formed on the explants derived from the seeds. Adventitious buds on the explants derived from the seedlings developed mainly into leaflike structures while the axillary buds - into shoots. Rooted shoots were grown successfully and potted out in a greenhouse where they grew into normal fruit bearing plants.

The subject of the study was to determine the impact of changes in mechanical properties of high-tin bronzes on the basic components of the sound of a bell. Change in the tin concentration in the range of about 7.5 to 20 parts wt. in a casting alloy significantly affects the mechanical properties of the alloy such as Young’s modulus or hardness. The free vibrations of bells were obtained with the help of the finite element method. In the numerical analyses the mechanical properties of standard alloys were adopted. The obtained natural frequencies of the bell made of a bronze with different tin concentration in copper were compared with the acoustic properties of a real bell casted on the basis of the same ribs. A significant effect of the increase in the alloying share of tin on the obtained results was stated. In addition, the acoustic analysis of aluminum bronze C95500 have been performed. Based on the obtained results, authors stated that this material can replace the commonly used high tin bronze C91300 for the unit production of bells.

W artykule zaprezentowano różne metody opisu kinetyki reakcji zgazowania węgla ditlenkiem węgla (reakcji Boudouarda-Bella) w oparciu o laboratoryjne badania mikro- i małoskalowe. Przedstawiono parametry kinetyczne dla węgli i karbonizatów wyznaczone na podstawie badań własnych z wykorzystaniem różnych modeli kinetycznych. Dokonano oceny przydatności stosowanych laboratoryjnych metod badawczych dla potrzeb charakterystyki surowców dla procesu zgazowania. Wykazano, że nie ma możliwości bezpośredniej i prostej weryfikacji parametrów kinetycznych wyznaczanych na podstawie testów laboratoryjnych oraz w warunkach instalacji pilotowej ciśnieniowego reaktora zgazowania z cyrkulującym złożem.
This article presents different approaches to description of the kinetics of coal and char gasification with carbon dioxide (Boudouard-Bella reaction) based on micro- and small-scale laboratory tests. Kinetic parameters for coals and chars determined on the basis of own studies using various kinetic models are presented. It was performed assessing the suitability of used laboratory methods for the characterization of raw materials for the gasification process. It has been demonstrated that there is no possibility of direct and easy verification of kinetic parameters determined from laboratory tests and reactor with circulating fluidized bed in pilot plant.

Opis:
An attempt at historiographical analysis dedicated to the monuments of stone sacred architecture of the National Historical and Ethnographic Reserve «Pereiaslav» was made in this research. These monuments are listed on the State Register of Immovable Monuments of Ukraine by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine № 929 of October 10, 2012 under security numbers: 100030/1-N, 100030/2-N, 100031/1- N, 100031/2-N. These include: Ascension Cathedral (1700), St. Michael’s Church (1750) and the bell tower with the refectory of St. Michael’s Church (1747). The bell tower of Ascension Cathedral (1770–1776), which is on the balance of Pereiaslav UTC and is an integral part of the complex of monuments of Ascension Monastery 1700–1776, was taken into account too. The results of the study of the above sacred monuments should be considered as part of the author’s research. The subject of this research is the study of scientific literature on cultural heritage sites of the National Historical and Ethnographic Reserve «Pereiaslav». Publications on this issue should be considered within two periods: the soviet (1954−1991) and modern (1991−2019). An overview of scientific works published during the modern period, characterized by an increase of scientific interest in sacred stone monuments of architecture of the National Historical and Ethnographic Reserve «Pereiaslav» was offered in this study. In order to convenience of perception, we divided these studies into two groups according to their thematic content. The first one includes publications directly devoted to the study of these objects. Among the researchers in this group are: D. A. Teteria, M. T. Tovkailo, O. V. Yurchenko, L. M. Nabok, O. V. Kolybenko, V. V. Vecherskyi, V. P. Melnyk, I. V. Bilchenko and other. Another group consists of generalized and fragmentary researches, related to the study of the history of Pereiaslav and Ukraine in general. These include studies of various thematic areas, where monastic complexes of Pereiaslav are mentioned in a certain aspect. Among the researchers in this group are: O. V. Lesyk, V. V. Nikitina, M. I. Sikorskyi, H. M. Buzian, M. V. Rodobudko, O. V. Tkachenko, N. M. Soloviova, V. M. Lialko, H. P. Tkachenko, N. H. Tkachenko, L. V. Lykhovyd, I. I. Kucherenko, S. O. Korkach, A. Kuzmenko, N. V. Kostenko, Yu. V. Avramenko, O. I. Tonkonoh, V. M. Shakula, O. M. Zham, O. A. Horbovyi, L. V. Naumenko, S. M. Zuber, S. M. Zakharchenko ta Yu. S. Fihurnyi, Yu. A. Mytsyk ta I. Yu. Tarasenko, V. Yu. Vysharovskyi, S. S. Dembitskyi, N. V. Kostiuk, I. H. Dunaina, S. A. Teteria, N. A. Boiko, M. V. Shkira, N. M. Shkira, A. O. Ivanenko, O. A. Tarapon, T. Yu. Nahaiko, S. V. Taranets, V. A. Lokha, V. P. Kotsur, O. I. Hurzhii, O. L. Lastovska and other. Our work on collecting and systematizing scientific literature on stone sacred monuments of architecture will be used in the future during the creation of a bibliographic index of works on objects under the operational management of the NHER «Pereiaslav».
У цій розвідці здійснено спробу історіографічного аналізу праць, присвячених пам’яткам кам’яної сакральної архітектури Національного історико-етнографічного заповідника «Переяслав», що внесені до Державного реєстру нерухомих пам’яток України Постановою Кабінету Міністрів України № 929 від 10 жовтня 2012 р. під охоронними номерами: 100030/1-Н, 100030/2-Н, 100031/1-Н, 100031/2-Н. До них належать: Вознесенський собор (1700 р.), Михайлівська церква (1750 р.) та дзвіниця з трапезною Михайлівської церкви 1747 р. До уваги також взято дзвіницю Вознесенського собору (1770–1776 рр.), яка знаходиться на балансі Переяславської об’єднаної територіальної громади і є невід’ємною частиною комплексу пам’яток Вознесенського монастиря (1700–1776 рр.). Результати дослідження, зазначених вище сакральних пам’яток, необхідно розглядати як частину розвідки автора, предметом якої є вивчення наукової літератури про об’єкти культурної спадщини Національного історико-етнографічного заповідника «Переяслав». Значний масив наукових публікацій з цієї проблематики варто розглядати в межах двох періодів: радянського – 1954–1991 рр. та сучасного – 1991–2019 рр. У цьому дослідженні запропоновано огляд наукових праць, що вийшли друком впродовж сучасного періоду, характерною ознакою якого є збільшенням наукового інтересу до кам’яних сакральних пам’яток архітектури Заповідника. Для зручності сприйняття ці студії ми розділили на дві групи відповідно до їх тематичного наповнення. До першої – віднесені публікації, що безпосередньо присвячені вивченню вказаних об’єктів. Серед дослідників цієї групи варто згадати: Д. А. Тетерю, М. Т. Товкайла, О. В. Юрченка, Л. М. Набок, О. В. Колибенка, В. В. Вечерського, В. П. Мельник, І. В. Більченко тощо. Іншу групу складають розвідки узагальнюючого та фрагментарного характеру, пов’язані з вивченням історії Переяславщини та України загалом. До них належать дослідження різного тематичного спрямування, де у певному аспекті згадуються монастирські комплекси м. Переяслава. До пошукчів другої групи відносяться: О. В. Лесик, В. В. Its clarity and beauty depend, first of all, on the bell’s geometry - particularly the shape of its profile, but also on the quality of alloy used to its cast. Hence, if the melting and pouring parameters could influence the alloy’s properties, what influence they would have on the frequencies of bell’s tone. In the article authors present their own approaches to find answers on that and more questions.

One of important centres of the early Piast monarchy was stronghold on Ostrów Lednicki. In its vicinity was located the cemetery known as Dziekanowice, site 22. From excavations on this necropolis come five bronze bell-shaped pendants. Three of them were discovered in graves. Items of this kind occur in the north-western Slavs territory in the period from the 8th to the 13th century. In the course of previous discussion explanation of their origins and function failed.

In 1881 Maria de Bell-lloch, a pseudonym used by Maria del Pilar Maspons i Labrós (1841-1907), published Llegendas catalanas. A writer of the Renaixença movement, she is one of the first women who stand out in the study of Catalan folk literature in this foundational period of interest for folklore in Catalonia. Some of the stories in the collection have been considered fantastic stories and have been included in various anthologies. The aim of this paper is to analyse this corpus in a philological way to see which stories can be integrated into fantastic literature, considering the theoretical difficulties that the legend poses as a genre.

The aim of the essay is to discuss an intergenerational transmission of family history and its impact on the process of becoming a Black woman in a racist society. The example chosen for analysis is the autobiography of bell hooks, Bone Black: Memories of Girlhood (1996), which is a story about girlhood. (B)ell hooks is a pen name of Gloria Jean Watkins, an African-American scholar and writer whose childhood and adolescence were during the period of racial segregation and desegregation in the 1960s of the twentieth century. (B)ell hooks writes Bone Black to reflect on being a Black girl growing up in racially segregated American society in the 60s of the twentieth century. She shows the historical and political contexts of her growing up, however, it is the local community and intergenerational family ties that she places at the center of her process of becoming the woman: bell hooks. Relationships with women, particularly a relationship between grandmother and granddaughter are of great significance in this process. The essay begins with a brief summary of the biography of bell hooks and a description of Bone Black, with particular emphasis put on the author’s interand intragenerational relationships with women. Next, I will move on to discuss the intergenerational transmissions of family history and their impact on the process of becoming a woman. For this purpose, I will refer to the life story concept introduced by Daniel Bertaux (2016), and the notion of subjective resources created by Catherine Delcroix (1999, 2014), in order to discuss the importance of intergenerational transmission of life stories in the process of becoming the woman knowns as “bell hooks.”
Celem eseju jest omówienie międzypokoleniowego przekazu historii rodziny i jej wpływu na proces stawania się Czarną kobietą w społeczeństwie zróżnicowanym rasowo. Przykładem wybranym do analizy jest autobiografia bell hooks pt. Bone Black: Memories of Girlhood (1996), książka będąca opowieścią o dziewczyństwie. (B)ell hooks to pseudonim Glorii Jean Watkins, afroamerykańskiej intelektualistki i pisarki, której dzieciństwo i młodość przypadły na okres segregacji rasowej i desegregacji w latach 60. XX wieku. (B)ell hooks napisała Bone Black, aby zastanowić się, co to znaczy być Czarną dziewczyną dorastającą w społeczeństwie amerykańskim w latach 60. XX wieku. Autorka pokazuje historyczne i polityczne konteksty procesu dorastania, jednak w centrum zainteresowania stawia lokalną społeczność i międzypokoleniowe więzi rodzinne. Duże znaczenie w procesie stawania się kobietą mają dla niej relacje z matką oraz babcią. Esej rozpoczyna się krótkim streszczeniem biografii bell hooks oraz opisem Bone Black, z naciskiem na międzypokoleniowe i wewnątrzrodzinne relacje autorki z kobietami. Następnie odwołuję się do koncepcji historii życia autorstwa Daniela Bertaux (life story) oraz zasobów osobistych (personal resources) autorstwa Catherine Delcroix, aby omówić znaczenie międzypokoleniowych przekazów historii rodziny w procesie stawania się kobietą znaną jako bell hooks.

Opis:
Underwater Acoustic Communications (UWAC) is an emerging technology in the field of underwater communications, and it is challenging because of the signal attenuation of the sound waves. Multiple Input and Multiple- Output (MIMO) is introduced in UWAC because of its support in enhancing the data throughput even under the conditions of interference, signal fading, and multipath. The paper presents the concept and analysis of 2 × 2 MIMO UWAC systems that uses a 4 - QAM spatial modulation scheme thus minimizing the decoding complexity and overcoming the Inter Channel Interference (IChI). Bit Error Rate (BER) investigation is carried out over different link distances under acoustic Line of Sight (LOS). The utilization of Zero Forcing (ZF) and Vertical-Bell Laboratories Layered Space-Time (VBLAST) equalizers, which estimates the transmitted data proves a success of removing Inter Symbol Interference (ISI). The ISI caused due to multipath effect and scattering in UWAC can be reduced by iterative process considered in VBLAST. A study is made on how the distance between the transmitter and the receiver and the Doppler Effect has its impact on the performance of the system.

This article discusses the latest archaeological research into the casting and marking of bronze three-legged cauldrons (Grapens) in the Baltic Sea Region. It offers a detailed analysis of production centres in Western Pomerania, which have not as of yet been the subject of interest of a wide circle of scholars, and presents the results of recent archaeological excavations in Stargard that revealed further workshops specializing in the production of cauldrons. Their functioning was associated with two Grapengiessers, Jochim and Jacob Ingerman, who were active in the first half of the 16th century. Moreover, the article also deals with the activity of other founders in relation to other centres in the Baltic Sea Region on the basis of historical sources and bells which have survived down to our times.

W artykule przedstawiono w prosty sposób wyprowadzenie nierówności Bella, odgrywającej ważną rolę w próbach zrozumienia natury cząstek elementarnych. Nierówność ta, wyprowadzona przy pewnych „rozsądnych” założeniach realizmu i lokalności, nie jest spełniona w mikroświecie. Oznacza to więc, że owe założenia nie muszą należeć do paradygmatu poznania mikroświata. Jego „dziwność” stawia wysokie wymagania naszej wyobraźni opartej na intuicji wywodzącej się ze świata makroskopowego.
The paper contains a simple introduction to the Bell’s inequality which is important in understanding the nature of elementary particles. The inequality was derived under “reasonable” assumption of realism and locality and is not satisfied in the quantum world of particles. It means that the above assumption does not necessarily belong to the quantum world paradigm.

W artykule opisano życie i osiągnięcia brytyjskiej archeolożki Gertrude Bell (1868-1926), która była autorką siedmiu książek i wielu artykułów, a w czasach pierwszej wojny światowej jedyną kobietą z tytułem oficera politycznego (Political Officer) oraz pełniła funkcję sekretarza ds. orientalnych (Oriental Secretary). Nieformalnie nazywano ją „niekoronowaną królową Iraku”. Wspomniano o wpływach Brytyjczyków na Bliskim wschodzie i ich roli w dalszym kształtowaniu się wschodnich terenów. Gertrude Bell była kobietą z wyższych sfer wiktoriańskiej Anglii, która jako jedna z nielicznych ukończyła studia na Oksfordzie. Podróżowała po Iranie (wtedy Persji), Syrii czy Palestynie, stała się też doskonałym źródłem dla brytyjskiego wywiadu, brała udział w arabskiej rewolucji, miała wpływ na kształtowanie się Iraku.

Omówiono podstawy teoretyczne i przedstawiono niekonwencjonalne rozwiązanie transferu, czyli urządzenia do przekazywania wartości miar etalonu krajowego lub wtórnych wzorców odniesienia z państwowego systemu kontroli przyrządów pomiarowych do systemu sprawdzań przyrządów do pomiarów przepływu gazu ziemnego. Uwzględnia on rodzaj medium roboczego i zmiany jego parametrów. Sprawdzono eksperymentalnie działania modelu takiego transferu opartego na zwężce Lavala z zastosowaniem dzwonowego stanowiska kalibracyjnego do wytworzenia roboczej wzorcowej wartości przepływu. Oszacowano niepewności składowe pomiarów przepływu za pomocą transferu.
The methodological study and technical solution for creation the transmission of standard values of the natural gas consumption using variable differential pressure flow meters were proposed and justified. The possibility of transferring of the standard gas flow rate values for natural gas consumption measurements taken from the State standard (etalon) or from the second level reference standards in the State verification system with taking to consideration changes of gas parameters and type of working medium (air or natural gas) were conducted. The experimental verification of the designed transfer unit model based on Laval type nozzle and the bell calibration stand to create the working standard was held. Uncertainty and its components for measurement of the natural gas flow by this transfer are estimated.

Ołtarz Sądu Ostatecznego z brugijskiego muzeum (0000.GRO.0208.I) uważany jest obecnie przez członków Bosch Research and Conservation Project (BRCP) za niekwestionowane dzieło w oeuvre Jheronimusa Boscha (ok. 1450-1516). Ołtarz, wykonany zapewne dla humanistycznie wyedukowanego odbiorcy wywodzącego się z arystokratycznego lub patrycjuszowskiego środowiska, jest datowany (BRCP) na lata ok. 1495-1505. W niniejszym artykule podjęto próbę wykazania związku (i zarazem jego interpretacji), u podstaw którego leżą kategorie inventio i fantasia, pomiędzy wyobrażeniami aniołów fanfarzystów flankujących Chrystusa a potępionymi powiązanymi z dwoma instrumentami muzycznymi – harfą i dzwonem, poddawanymi karom zmysłów (poena sensus); zostali oni ukazani w części środkowej Ołtarza. Artykuł porusza także zagadnienia funkcji i zadań trębaczy, komentarzem opatrzono instrumenty muzyczne, uwzględniając ich kontekst ikonograficzny oraz muzyczny. Aniołowie, jak ukazał malarz (kierują swe instrumenty w stronę harfy i dzwonu), zdają się stać za wyrafinowanymi torturami dla skazańców. Hipoteza, w ramach której zidentyfikowano niekonwencjonalne zadania owych istot duchowych, zasadza się na fundamencie biblijnym (Rdz 19,13.24-25; 2 Krl 19,35; 2 Mch 3,26-27; Ap, 8,1-11,19; 15, 1-16,21). Aniołowie fanfarzyści posługujący się długimi, prostymi trąbkami, z których zwisają chorągwie ze znakiem krzyża, występują zarazem w funkcji trębaczy heraldycznych – anonsują przybycie Chrystusa na sąd powszechny, obwieszczają Jego obecność. Malarz w ramach swoistej gry z ikonografią Sądu Ostatecznego zerwał z tradycyjnym toposem anioła fanfarzysty, a sięgając po motywy instrumentów łączonych z królem Dawidem (harfa) i Kościołem (dzwon), wyszedł poza krąg odniesień o pozytywnych konotacjach.
The Last Judgement triptych from the Groeningemuseum in Bruges is currently considered by members of the Bosch Research and Conservation Project as an undisputed work in the oeuvre of Hieronymus Bosch (c. 1450-1516). The triptych is dated c. 1495-1505. In the article I demonstrate the connection (and thus the interpretation), based on two categories – inventio and fantasia, between the images of trumpet-playing angels and two musical instruments: a harp and bell, fulfilling the function of penitentiary tools. Two damned linked to them undergo punishment of senses (poena sensus). The driving force behind this refined form of torture, in response to amoral living seen in the light of Christian ethics, would be the angels. They play with their instruments turned in the direction of the harp and bell. In the context of the main contents of the Bruges Last Judgement I perceive the trumpet-playing angels using long, straight aerophones with banners as heraldic trumpeters. The painter, within the context of his own iconographical game, departed from the traditional topos of an angel eschatological trumpeter and in reaching for motifs of instruments connected to King David (harp) and the Church (bell), went beyond positive connotations related to them.

W artykule opisano siły powietrzne Macedonii Północnej, która uzyskała niepodległość w 1991. Armia Republiki Macedonii Północnej ma zunifikowaną strukturę, jej głównym zadaniem jest obrona kraju, jego integralności terytorialnej i niepodległości. Częścią armii jest lotnictwo wojskowe, które ze względu na topografię i umiejscowienie kraju jest lotnictwem wojsk lądowych, nielicznym, z ograniczonymi możliwościami operacyjnymi. Aktualnie dysponujące 18 statkami powietrznymi. Autor przedstawia historię formacji, liczebność wojsk, ilość i rodzaje sprzętu, jakim dysponują oraz przemiany w strukturze macedońskiej armii i jej lotnictwa. Wymienia macedońskie stopnie wojskowe i ich angielskie i polskie odpowiedniki, szkolenia i ośrodki kształcenia przyszłych żołnierzy, jednostki lotnicze i ich statki powietrzne. Macedonia dysponuje m.in. samolotami Zlin Z-143L i Z-242L oraz śmigłowcami Mi-24W, Mi-8MT/17 i Bell206B-3 JetRanger III.

This article provides a source edition of two instructions for ringing bells at St John the Baptist and St John the Evangelist Church in Toruń (Thorn). The sources come from the collection of archival files related to the history of this church, kept in the State Archives in Toruń. They date back to the first half of the sixteenth century. The authors attempted to establish the purpose of writing down the presented ordinations, characterized the church servants that appear in the source material and examined their duties regarding bell ringing. The article also examines the fees paid for ringing bells during church services and the associated remuneration for bell-ringers. Moreover, particular attention was paid to the liturgical calendar of the parish of St John the Baptist and St John the Evangelist Church in Toruń.
