    Opis:
    Rough set theory is an excellent mathematical tool for the analysis of a vague description of actions in decision problems. Now, in this paper by considering the notion of an equality algebra, the notion of the lower and the upper approximations are introduced and some properties of them are given. Moreover, it is proved that the lower and the upper approximations define an interior operator and a closure operator, respectively. Also, using D-lower and D-upper approximation, conditions for a nonempty subset to be definable are provided and investigated that under which condition D-lower and D-upper approximation can be filter.

    The paper deals with operators of the form A = S + B, where B is a compact operator in a Hilbert space H and S is an unbounded normal one in H, having a compact resolvent. We consider approximations of the eigenvectors of A, corresponding to simple eigenvalues by the eigenvectors of the operators An = S + Bn (n = 1, 2,...), where Bn is an n-dimensional operator. In addition, we obtain the error estimate of the approximation.

    If f is a continuous seminorm, we prove two f-best approximation theorems for functions Φ not necessarily continuous as a consequence of our version of Glebov's fixed point theorem. Moreover, we obtain another fixed point theorem that improves a recent result of [4]. In the last section, we study continuity-type properties of set valued parametric projections and our results improve recent theorems due to Mabizela [11].

    Opis:
    Two approximate representations are proposed for distributed parameter systems described by two linear hyperbolic PDEs with two time- and space-dependent state variables and two collocated boundary inputs. Using the method of lines with the backward difference scheme, the original PDEs are transformed into a set of ODEs and expressed in the form of a finite number of dynamical subsystems (sections). Each section of the approximation model is described by state-space equations with matrix-valued state, input and output operators, or, equivalently, by a rational transfer function matrix. The cascade interconnection of a number of sections results in the overall approximation model expressed in finite-dimensional state-space or rational transfer function domains, respectively. The discussion is illustrated with a practical example of a parallel-flow double-pipe heat exchanger. Its steady-state, frequency and impulse responses obtained from the original infinite-dimensional representation are compared with those resulting from its approximate models of different orders. The results show better approximation quality for the “crossover” input–output channels where the in-domain effects prevail as compared with the “straightforward” channels, where the time-delay phenomena are dominating.

    Some general representation formulae for (C₀) m-parameter operator semigroups with rates of convergence are obtained by the probabilistic approach and multiplier enlargement method. These cover all known representation formulae for (C₀) one- and m-parameter operator semigroups as special cases. When we consider special semigroups we recover well-known convergence theorems for multivariate approximation operators.

    Opis:
    Deriving the formulas for strain components, we are assuming, that cross-section of a rod being rotated in space during deformation does not need to be perpendicular to deformed centroid line. This not a quite intuitive assumption allows for more compact and easier formulas for strain tensor or equilibrium equations. Derived transformations between actual and initial coordinate system, components of strain tensor and virtual works principle for investigated spatially curved beams of bisymmetric cross-section are shown in this paper. Conformity with other models from referenced literature is also shown.
    W pracy przedstawiono geometrycznie nieliniową teorię wstępnie skręconych i zakrzywionych pryzmatycznych prętów cienkościennych o bisymetrycznym przekroju poprzecznym. Jest ona modyfikacją teorii przedstawionej w Abaqus Theory Manual [5]. Polega na zastąpieniu teorii [5] uwzględniającej, że w trakcie deformacji mogą wystąpić skończone obroty przekroju poprzecznego, inżynierską teorią ograniczoną do małych obrotów (ok. 0,3 rad). W konstrukcjach budowlanych, stan graniczny użytkowania wyklucza w praktyce pozostałe przypadki. To uproszczenie sprawia, że możemy sformułować inżynierską teorię, otrzymując wyniki zbliżone do otrzymanych w programie Abaqus [5]. Przedstawiono zmodyfikowane wzory na składowe odkształcenia Greena-Lagrange’a wstępnie skręconego i zakrzywionego w przestrzeni pręta cienkościennego przyjmując założenie, że 1) przekroje poprzeczne podlegające obrotom w przestrzeni w trakcie deformacji, nie muszą pozostawać prostopadłe do krzywej wyznaczonej przez środki ciężkości, 2) deformacja paczenia jest opisana przez niezależną od kąta skręcenia funkcję paczenia [5]. Do opisu obrotów przekroju poprzecznego wykorzystano aproksymację rzędu drugiego (2.15, 4.2). Prezentowane sformułowanie pozwala na wyprowadzenie praktycznie każdej z inżynierskich teorii prętów o przekroju cienkościennym przedstawionych w cytowanej literaturze problemu.
